00:36 Are there times when you wish you could just fix it off? 00:39 I know I do. 00:41 Of course, we can't fix everything, can we? 00:43 That will only happen when Jesus comes again. 00:47 But we can fix some things. 00:49 Did you know that every time you're faithful to God 00:52 you're fixing something? 00:54 That's right. 00:55 When you trust Jesus and show His love to others 00:58 you're helping to make the world a better place. 01:01 Now it's not always easy, 01:02 sometimes it means doing the exact opposite 01:06 of what you feel like doing. 01:07 But it's always worth it in the end. 01:10 When you follow Jesus, you make things better 01:12 for everyone around you. 01:15 I'm praying for you boys and girls, 01:17 to follow Jesus today and everyday. 01:21 All right now, it's time for Nature Time. 01:30 Hey, kids, it's me Rich Aguilera. 01:32 And I'm so happy to see you. 01:34 As usual, I'm taking some pictures of 01:36 some of the amazing things that God has made, 01:39 it's everywhere. 01:42 I'm glad you're with me today 01:44 because today we're gonna explore 01:45 a temperate rainforest, come on. 01:49 You're probably wondering what is a temperate rainforest? 01:52 Fear not, I will show you come on. 02:00 Well, rainforest, I mean listen to the name, 02:02 the name kind of says it all by itself, doesn't it? 02:05 What do you think it means? 02:07 A Rainforest. 02:09 Yeah, it's a forest and it rains a lot 02:12 and I mean a lot. 02:15 And temperate means that the temperature in here 02:18 stays pretty cool. 02:20 It doesn't get very hot in here, 02:22 that would be a tropical rainforest. 02:24 This is a temperate rainforest 02:26 that means it stays cool. 02:29 So what's so special about a temperate rainforest? 02:32 There is a ton of living stuff in here. 02:34 Come on let's go check it out. 02:45 Obviously, in a rainforest there are lots of trees. 03:05 One thing that helps keep things cool and moisture 03:08 is the tree canopy. 03:11 If we look up, we are completely shaded 03:14 this is called a tree canopy. 03:17 What it's called? 03:18 A tree canopy. 03:19 That's right. 03:20 A tree canopy, I'm gonna take a picture. 03:28 You know, it's hard to appreciate, 03:29 the canopy from way down here. 03:32 I've got an idea, come on. 03:36 Now, this is a great way to appreciate the canopy 03:40 from above. 03:42 Look at all those trees down there. 03:48 That was fun. 03:50 Remember, kids, 03:51 nature is there for you to enjoy. 03:53 Go and enjoy it. 03:57 Beside these big old trees, here on the forest floor 04:00 there are also lots of plants. 04:02 Especially ferns and mosses, come on. 04:08 Mosses are pretty cool. 04:09 It's like the entire woods is carpeted. 04:11 Let's take a picture. 04:17 It's a little soft, a little fuzzy, 04:20 and a little squishy. 04:24 You know how trees have roots? 04:26 You can tell that this tree has huge roots. 04:30 Mosses are quite unusual 04:31 because they don't quite have roots. 04:34 They mainly just kind of grab onto things 04:36 like rocks and trees see, ah, 04:40 so if they don't have the roots. 04:41 Where do they get water? 04:43 I don't see any water fountains around here. 04:46 Don't panic, God has a plan because this is a rainforest, 04:50 there is water everywhere. 04:53 They get water from the rain, from the dew 04:56 and from all the wet surfaces in here. 04:59 By living in a wet shady place like this, 05:01 they can get it from pretty much anywhere. 05:04 Not only that, 05:05 they grow just about everywhere look around. 05:08 Look at this tree. 05:27 Do you guys remember the name of these carpets like plants? 05:31 Mosses. 05:32 That's right. 05:33 Mosses, you guys are learning the stuff. 05:35 Good job. 05:38 Ferns are pretty cool too, these are ferns here. 05:41 Aren't they kind of cute? 05:43 What I know, is that ferns are pretty interesting 05:46 because they don't grow from seeds. 05:48 See, no fruits, no flowers, nothing. 05:52 Ferns grow from spores. 05:54 The underside of the ferns release these tiny spores 05:58 that float in the air, land somewhere 06:01 hence start growing there. 06:03 You know taking pictures is a great way to remember 06:07 all the stuff we have learned. 06:08 You want to see my pictures? 06:10 You can, just go to our website 06:12 at www.KidsTime4Jesus.org and click on Nature Time. 06:17 There is a lot of cool stuff to see there. 06:19 Well, I've had a ton of fun exploring with you, kids. 06:22 Remember God is the creator, nature is His masterpiece. 06:27 See you. 07:25 Hi, kids. 07:27 Welcome to Learning Time. 07:29 I'm glad you joined us today. 07:31 You know today we gonna talk about something 07:33 that really interesting and I think a lot of fun. 07:36 But you know first let me go ahead 07:38 and introduce our-- volunteer. 07:40 Can you tell us what your name is 07:43 and where are you from? 07:58 How many have you ever stepped on a nail? 08:00 Well, how about you? 08:01 Have you have stepped on a nail? 08:02 Yes. 08:04 Well, why did you do that? Why did you step on a nail? 08:06 Because it is an accident. 08:08 Oh, I hope it was accident 08:10 because we don't want to step on a nails 08:12 because nails will destroy us, right? 08:14 Yes. 08:15 Oh, absolutely, I stepped on it before 08:17 and I've been injured before. 08:19 But you know what we have today, Alia. 08:21 We have a very special bunch of nails 08:24 and we're gonna have you lie down on them, okay. 08:27 But I tell you what, 08:28 well are not gonna force you to do this, 08:29 so what I want to do is-- 08:31 I want you to look at this demonstration, 08:33 okay, first then you can decide 08:36 and you might want to figure out, 08:38 if there would be a good idea for Alia to do this or not. 08:41 Now I have my good friend over here. 08:43 Now, now Angel Rivera he is a chef 08:46 and he brought from the kitchen an apple. 08:49 You all like Apples? 08:50 Yes. Okay. 08:52 Well, we're gonna demonstrate because we have a bed of nails, 08:55 I'm gonna behind you right here 08:56 and we're gonna get those nails to show up right here. 08:59 Because when we have right here, 09:01 we have 1,500 nails right there. 09:05 Are you ready to see them? 09:06 Yes. 09:07 How about a countdown? 09:08 Three, two, one. Three, two, one. 09:10 Let's see all of them. 09:11 Wow. 09:14 And there are 1,500 nails. 09:16 Okay, so what we want to do is, 09:17 we want to see, 09:18 if they're sharp enough to injure the apple. 09:22 Are you ready, Angel? 09:23 I'm ready. 09:24 All right, lets go and how about a countdown? 09:27 Three, two, one. 09:29 And... 09:30 Wow. 09:32 It went thud. Do you hear thud? 09:34 Yes. 09:35 Oh, and it just impale the apple. 09:38 Oh we better get down off of there 09:40 and you know what, 09:41 if Alia is gonna lie down, 09:43 well it's hard to get off, isn't it? 09:45 Made some holes in the apple, 09:47 yeah, you better clean that off. 09:48 You know when you make a mess, who cleans it off? 09:50 Mom. Mom. 09:52 Now you know if you make a mess, 09:54 you are to clean it. 09:55 So we're gonna clean up after ourselves. 09:57 So are you ready to lie down on this bed of nails? 10:00 Yeah. 10:02 Yeah, oh, well, I don't know. 10:03 Well, I tell you what, what I'm gonna do right here is, 10:06 I'm gonna have you move over just little bit over here. 10:09 We gonna make the nails disappear 10:11 because getting on and off nails 10:13 is not a fun and easy things. 10:15 So we gonna make the nails disappear 10:17 by pushing this up just like that. 10:19 Okay, now you can safely sit down right there 10:22 and your head goes over there in that nice soft pillow. 10:26 There you go, 10:27 stretch yourself out just like this, okay. 10:31 And let's move you down, just a little bit, 10:33 okay right, move back a little bit. 10:35 Watch your head right there, are you ready? 10:36 Yeah. 10:37 You think it's a good idea. 10:39 Do you think it's a good idea that she should do this? 10:41 Yes. Yes. 11:25 Well, look if we put her body weight 11:27 pressure on one little tiny point, it can hurt us. 11:30 That reminds us, that reminds me sometimes. 11:33 You know what we come around the trials and problems. 11:36 Do you ever have trials and problems in your life? 11:38 Have you? Have you? 11:39 Yes.
