00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:02 We're gonna be late. 00:03 It's time to share 00:05 There is world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:11 It's time to share 00:14 There is a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:24 Kid's time Kid's time 00:26 Kid's time 00:27 Kid's time Kid's time 00:32 Hi, boys and girls. I love weddings, don't you? 00:35 Wearing special cloths to a wedding 00:37 is one way of showing how happy 00:39 you are for the bride and groom. 00:41 Different countries have different styles 00:42 of wedding dresses. 00:44 Here is the bride from Indonesia. 00:46 Isn't she beautiful? 00:48 And here is another from South America. 00:51 Oh, look at this beautiful bride from Africa. 00:55 Oh, I love her fancy headdress. 00:57 My friend Adriana wore a dress in her wedding 00:59 that made her look like a miniature bride. 01:02 She was so excited. 01:04 Wearing just the right thing 01:05 to a wedding might seeing like a small thing 01:07 but it isn't a small thing to the bride and groom. 01:10 Its one of the most important day's of their lives. 01:14 Boys and girls, when Jesus comes 01:15 it will be just like a wedding 01:17 and all the guests will wear beautiful clothes. 01:20 Our special garments will represent 01:23 Christ goodness covering up our old garments of sin. 01:27 But we have to accept those garments 01:29 and put them on before the wedding. 01:32 I can't wait for that day, can you? 01:35 Well, right now it's time for Nature Time. 01:45 Hi, boys and girls welcome to Nature Time. 01:48 We are here down under 01:49 and for those of you who don't know that, 01:51 that's Australia and it is so beautiful here. 01:53 I've been having such a great time. 01:55 Today, the work here at the tropical fruit world 01:58 and I have Mel to help us out with all of these fruits. 02:00 Now how are you doing today? 02:02 I am doing good Ranger Dwight, how are you doing? 02:03 I am doing great and these are banana's 02:06 but they are different color, they look red not yellow. 02:09 That's what this is Red Dacca banana. 02:13 And does it taste like the yellow banana? 02:15 It tastes better than yellow banana, 02:17 a lot sweater. A lot sweater. 02:18 Well, how many kinds 02:19 of different bananas do you grow here? 02:21 Here on the farm we have 15 varieties of banana's 02:24 including Ducasse, Lady Finger, 02:27 Cavendish and many more. 02:29 Wow, and what's the distinction of the taste. 02:33 Seem like a banana would be a banana? 02:34 Banana, yeah. 02:36 Sweater again different color 02:40 some have seeds in them 02:41 and texture is the difference as well. 02:45 Now this is a question that I want. 02:47 Is behind it's there is that a banana tree? 02:52 No, it's not a banana tree. 02:54 Oh, yes I am gonna. It's a banana plant. 02:57 You mean that's not a tree, that's a plant. 02:59 That's not a tree, bananas don't have timber in. 03:02 To be a tree you got to have timber. 03:04 Bananas don't have timber, they've fiber and water. 03:06 So it makes it a plant. 03:08 Wow, kids I have been saying 03:09 it wrong all my life it's not a banana tree 03:11 it's a banana plant. 03:12 Correct. Wow. 03:13 So that gives me another question 03:15 for you, Ranger Dwight. 03:17 Do you love the fruits? 03:18 Yes, I do. I love fruits. 03:19 So how do you tell the difference 03:21 between a fruit and a vegetable? 03:23 Well, I love fruits a lot better than vegetables. 03:27 Is that good enough answer? 03:28 That's a good one I am sure 03:29 but a fruit has a seed in it. Okay. 03:32 But that poses another question for us. 03:34 Where is a seed in banana? 03:36 You know what kids, 03:37 I don't know but that's Mel does. 03:39 So tell us Mel, how do you figure that one? 03:41 Well, they don't have any seeds 03:42 do you know it's easy. 03:44 But originally banana's had seeds in them 03:46 but they made it easier for you and me to eat 03:49 because imagine having a banana 03:50 with a seed that size of a little finger nail. 03:53 I wouldn't like that. 03:54 None of us would like that, 03:55 so that's why the agricultural departments 03:59 in Southern Asia where the banana originates 04:01 from bred the seed out make it better to eat. 04:04 So how do you grow the bananas? 04:06 How do you keep growing? 04:07 How do you keep growing? 04:08 The plant does it all for us. 04:10 The root by system grows up a little plant 04:13 every time the mother tree is harvested. 04:15 So it's just continuing all the time. 04:18 That is tremendous. Isn't that neat, kids. 04:20 Now I've another question, I know behind you, 04:23 you have what you call is it a flower 04:25 that comes on the banana tell us about it? 04:27 This part here this is banana bell 04:30 or what we know it is the banana flower. 04:33 So when out of the center 04:36 of that banana plant comes out big bunch 04:38 but it's just a big one of these. 04:40 And what we have on here kids, is the little tiny bananas. 04:44 Oh, that is so cool, little bananas 04:47 And these it keeps dropping down, 04:48 dropping out more and more 04:50 these little bananas. 04:51 And eventually after about three months 04:54 we have them this size. 04:56 That is amazing, 04:57 and that's at the bottom and you cut that off. 04:59 Yeah, that's at the bottom 05:00 and we cut that off 05:01 so that we get bigger fuller bananas. 05:03 But we have to protect them-- our crop 05:06 because we get predators like birds, bats, 05:10 even a rat can run up the trunk 05:12 and eat lovely sweet banana. 05:14 So we put a bag right over the whole cover 05:17 the bananas and that protects it. 05:19 Wow, that is amazing. 05:20 Now are these bananas-- could I check one of these out? 05:24 I am anxious to check it out. 05:26 Got my trusty now, so let's cut a hand off. 05:32 And pretty handy way, 05:33 he is putting handy way that knife, kids. 05:38 Now can you see it? 05:39 See the red bananas still has the yellow color 05:41 through the skin so that tells it's ready to eat. 05:45 So let's try one. Kids, are you ready? 05:47 I wish you were here listening this 05:49 and watch just with me 05:50 but I'm gonna taste and let you know. 05:53 That's excellent. 05:55 Mel, thank you so much for being here with us today. 05:58 And kids, don't forget natures got second book, 06:01 get out there and take a look. 06:03 It's amazing, this taste great. 06:13 The Bible says in Mark 2:10, 11, 06:16 "But that you may know 06:17 that the Son of man has the power 06:20 on earth to forgive sins. 06:22 He said to the paralytic, 06:24 raise up take your bed and walk." 06:31 Peter and John went to pray 06:34 They met a lame on the way 06:37 He asked for alms and held out his palms 06:41 And this is what Peter did say 06:45 Silver and gold have I none 06:48 But such as I have I give thee 06:51 In the name of Jesus Christ 06:55 Of Nazareth, rise up and walk! 06:59 He went walking and leaping and praising God 07:03 Walking and leaping and praising God 07:06 In the name of Jesus Christ 07:10 Of Nazareth, rise up and walk! 07:13 Silver and gold have I none 07:17 But what I have I give thee 07:20 In the name of Jesus Christ 07:24 Of Nazareth, rise up and walk 07:27 He went walking and leaping and praising God 07:32 Walking and leaping and praising God 07:35 In the name of Jesus Christ 07:39 Of Nazareth, rise up and walk! 07:42 In the name of Jesus Christ 07:46 Of Nazareth, rise up and walk! 07:58 Hi, kids, welcoming to Learning Time. 08:00 As you can see we're outside 08:02 because we're gonna make a rocket. 08:04 What do you think about that? 08:05 Cool. Oh, yeah. 08:07 Now you can make a rocket at home 08:09 but you probably ought to do it outside. 08:11 Now I have got Justine 08:12 and I have Aaron and Naomi. 08:15 Now they are gonna help us with this. 08:16 So we probably have to gear our safety glasses on, okay. 08:18 Alright, always have to protect our eyes. 08:20 Now the rockets are very interesting thing. 08:22 Now in order to power our rocket 08:24 we're gonna use something that's very, very small. 08:26 In fact, I have got it right here. 08:27 There is little tiny particles and its baking soda. 08:30 Now what I have right here is I have got some vinegar. 08:33 Now Justin, I want to hand that you. 08:34 What I want to do is, 08:35 I want you to dump this right in there 08:37 and let's see if we can see a reaction. 08:39 Here we go and dumping in there. 08:40 Wow. Wow. 08:43 Do you see that reaction? 08:45 It was a reaction 08:46 with the baking soda and the vinegar. 08:47 Now the vinegar happens to be an acid 08:49 we put it on the foods and so forth, 08:50 right and the baking soda is a base item. 08:55 And so we have a reaction in it. 08:56 It makes carbon dioxide bubbles. 08:58 Now that's what's gonna power our rocket. 09:00 Now I am gonna show you 09:01 how we make these two rockets right here. 09:04 First of fall you start off with a 16 fluid ounce bottle. 09:08 You can use big one or smaller one. 09:09 This works out pretty good 09:11 and you gonna need some pencils or some stick,. 09:13 don't have to have pencils 09:14 and we're gonna put on some tape 09:15 some real sticky tape. 09:17 Now we're gonna get Natta over here to film 09:19 this because its kind of kind of small 09:21 and I want to able to see that. 09:22 We're gonna take three pencils. 09:24 We are gonna line them up just like this, 09:25 okay and they stick to those sticky tape. 09:27 And then we're gonna stick the tape to our bottle, 09:30 Okay, so why don't you hang on to that bottle for us. 09:33 And we're gonna put them right here 09:34 this is gonna be a launcher. 09:36 Now the pencils are a part 09:38 of our launching mechanism just like that. 09:40 We're gonna stick just like that, all right. 09:42 Now how do we power? We put what in there? 09:44 Baking soda. Baking soda. 09:46 All right, so in order to do this 09:48 we're gonna take a piece of paper towel 09:50 and if its double thickness 09:51 peel one of the thickness away. 09:53 We are gonna take our baking soda 09:55 or powder or soda rather 09:57 and we are gonna put it right 10:00 in our towel just like this. 10:01 And so we are gonna put it right in there 10:02 and then we're gonna wrap it up 10:03 kind of like your trying to make hot dog 10:06 or something like that. 10:07 And we're gonna wrap it up, 10:08 we are gonna try to make it really, 10:09 really small in round 10:11 because this has to fit 10:13 into the neck of your bottle, all right. 10:15 And if you have some tape 10:17 we can tape it right here 10:18 that's what I'm gonna try to do. 10:19 I have got a piece of tape 10:20 I'm gonna put the tape right on the top here just like this. 10:23 And, you know, what, we can cram 10:24 that right into the bottle, can't we. 10:26 Well that's how there gonna power that rocket. 10:29 And let's see what we have got. 10:31 I happen to have them all packaged up. 10:33 And let's go ahead and pour your vinegar in there. 10:36 Okay. Pour the vinegar in. 10:38 We got one going right here 10:41 pour right in there just like that. 10:44 Okay, there you go and here we go. 10:47 Pour that one here and I'm gonna 10:48 pour this one Naomi's right here. 10:50 So we got it all loaded up with vinegar, 10:52 all we need to do now is to put in the baking soda. 10:57 What, what is this thing? 10:59 The baking soda. That's right. 11:01 Okay now we're gonna do it one by one 11:02 and you are gonna have to scatter a little bit. 11:04 Move back over here 11:05 because we gonna have blast off right here. 11:08 Okay, here we go. 11:09 Now take that one right there Justin 11:11 and stuff it in there, stuff it there just like 11:13 that you too may want to back up 11:14 because you know what this once is gonna blast off first. 11:17 Go ahead stuff it right in there 11:18 and we have our stopper. 11:20 That's right, all the way in. 11:21 I'm gonna put this stopper on just like that. 11:23 Okay, there we go, okay, wow, wow. 11:26 Do you know where it went? 11:27 Yeah! Well, just tried Justine. 11:29 Justin's, come on over here. 11:30 We need to get Justin is going right now, all right. 11:33 Aaron don't mind. 11:34 I'm sorry. Aaron, come on. 11:35 Yeah, Aaron come over here. 11:36 Okay and let's go ahead, 11:37 go and put your's in there 11:39 and I'm gonna put the stopper in there. 11:42 Okay, try to put in there. 11:43 Then we're gonna put the stopper in, okay. 11:46 All right, take turn it upside down and shake over. 11:51 Wow, we got one more come on Naomi, 11:53 let's see we can get this one to work. 11:54 There we go. 11:56 All right, now let's see and I lost my stopper. 11:58 Oh, here you go it's on the ground, 11:59 it's on the ground. Okay, here we go. 12:01 All right, here we go. That's beautiful. 12:02 So here can you put that inside? 12:03 That's beautiful. 12:05 Put that in there we try to put it in real. 12:06 Okay, slow down. Okay, there we go. 12:08 Put it right in there, right like that. 12:10 And okay, and we're gonna put this in there. 12:12 We're gonna shake it up let's try here we go. 12:15 And look wow. 12:18 Well, way over there, wow. 12:20 Well, come back around here 12:21 and let's talk about that. 12:23 Look at that our rocket went little bit crocked 12:25 but you know that's interesting to me. 12:27 Now you know what, 12:29 all we use-- remember all we used 12:30 was a little bit of baking soda. 12:33 Little bit of baking soda made a lot of difference 12:36 and it made the rocket shoot up in the air 12:37 which is very interesting to me. 12:39 But you know, sometimes you and I 12:41 what we can do in order to help somebody out 12:43 is just to mention something. 12:45 A little bit of kindness to them makes a lot of difference. 12:47 May be even smile to them 12:49 which makes it makes some to have a wonderful day. 12:52 Isn't that cool? 12:53 And God can help us 12:54 to make a difference in people's lives. 12:56 It's a little thing's that can count. 12:59 And you know when we learn about science 13:01 we learn more about our Creator God. 13:11 I want the men in their finest attire tonight 13:14 and make sure this is a great celebration. 13:18 Father, you called for me? 13:19 Yes, there you are my son. 13:20 I want to share with you the plans 13:22 that we have for the wedding celebration tonight. 13:24 I send messages to the city 13:25 to invite as many subjects as they could find. 13:28 Thank you father, I appreciate all that you do for me. 13:31 And love how you're so good in kind to all your subjects. 13:34 You're my son.
