00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're gonna be late. 00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:11 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:24 Kids' time Kids' time Kids' time 00:31 Hi, boys and girls, let me ask you a question. 00:34 What do you think the world would be like 00:36 if we had peace on earth? 00:38 Have you ever thought about it? 00:40 Things would have to be a whole a lot different wouldn't they? 00:43 No scary storms or fights between brothers and sisters, 00:47 no sickness, no fear, and definitely no tears. 00:51 Come to think of it 00:52 pretty much everything would have to change, wouldn't it? 00:55 So it was the really big deal when baby Jesus was born 00:59 and the angels told the shepherds 01:00 that He had come to bring peace on earth 01:03 and goodwill toward men. 01:05 When you ask Jesus to come into your heart 01:07 it changes everything. 01:09 Even though circumstances may not be peaceful all around you, 01:13 you can still have peace. 01:15 And you can give the gift of peace to others 01:18 just like Jesus gives to you. 01:20 Boys and girls, why didn't you ask Jesus 01:22 to come into your heart today 01:24 and experience peace on earth? 01:27 Well, right now it's time for Nature Time. 01:37 Hi, boys and girls, welcome to Nature Time. 01:40 We're in a beautiful country of Australia 01:42 and we're in Currumbin right now 01:44 at the wildlife Currumbin sanctuary. 01:46 But Tenielle she is the expert on all kinds of things 01:49 and today we're gonna talk about not barking dogs but... 01:53 Barking owls. 01:54 Barking owls, that is amazing. 01:56 So tell me about this neat owl. 01:58 Okay, well, this is Toye. Toye? 02:00 And yeah, Toye is a barking owl. 02:02 So obviously they got the name 02:04 due to the fact they sound 02:05 a little like the dog barking. Okay. 02:07 And I guess its vocal--their vocalization 02:09 is like a let's see if we can get him to do it. 02:14 No he doesn't want to do it but I have another vocalization 02:17 which is a screaming woman so you can do that if you want. 02:20 I let you do that. Okay. 02:24 Well, that is amazing. 02:26 Now you told me that this owl can turn like 90 degrees. Yes. 02:33 Well, one distinctive feature about the barking owl 02:35 what do you think really stands out, 02:37 what is the most impressive thing about him? 02:38 Well, his eyes to me 02:40 because only like looking right at you. Exactly. 02:42 Now what those eyes actually tell us 02:44 is that the barking out is not a purely nocturnal bird 02:47 but as what we call crepuscular. 02:50 Meaning that the barking owl can see 02:52 and hunt just as well during the day as during the night. 02:55 And because those eyes are fixed in its head 02:57 we can rotate our eyes not head he can't do that, 03:00 so to compensate that he has the ability 03:02 to rotate his head all the way around. 03:05 So not just 90 degrees but 180 degrees backwards. 03:08 Exactly, exactly. That is so cool. 03:10 Now how long that these owls live? 03:12 They live very long too. 03:13 They can live around 60 years. 60 years. 03:17 Now I've heard that owls unlike other birds 03:21 they are pretty quite when they fly. 03:22 Is this quite when it flies? They are. 03:24 Now have a look at some other features. 03:26 Not only doesn't he have those big-- 03:28 those big talents once again wrapped up, 03:30 that's their number one weapon of choice 03:32 but they have feathers going all the way down to their toes. 03:36 Now what this does is it breaks up 03:38 the surface of the air which eliminates the sound 03:42 and enables them to catch their prey 03:44 without their prey even knowing that they are attacked. 03:46 So they called silent flyers. 03:48 Silent flyers, they definitely are. 03:50 Now how about they are young, how many younger they have? 03:53 These guys I'm not quiet sure 03:55 I think that they can have a few young 03:56 that they will take care of. 03:58 Most owls though they usually have about two babies. 04:00 Okay, okay. 04:02 And that now in captivity 04:04 they live longer than they do out in wild like most? 04:07 They do, they do. 04:09 Now these guys rely on hollows. 04:11 They don't build their own nest. 04:13 So when we knock down trees unfortunately 04:15 they are affected by it. 04:16 So they do live in captivity 04:18 because we are able to supply them I am so-- 04:21 Share that me and makes me feel nervous, kids. 04:23 You can give him a pat. 04:24 Give him a pat, he is waiting for a bit of a pat. 04:25 Okay, oh listen. 04:27 Oh, nice little barking owl. 04:32 That is so neat. It feels so soft. 04:35 They are soft. 04:36 All their feathers are frayed actually 04:37 so instead of having hot fathers 04:40 like the veg tourtiere well, they have frayed edges too. 04:42 Now, kid, we get-- while the kids are watching 04:46 can you get it to turn its head if I keep him like this. 04:50 Look at that, kids. 04:54 Hey, look over here, Toye. 04:56 Well, we tried but it was pretty good. 04:58 I turn my neck around that way I probably break it. 05:01 Well, Tenielle, it's been great having you with us today. 05:05 Leaning more about barking owls 05:07 and how they live and their young. 05:10 It's been fantastic. 05:11 You hear kids, that sound it's fantastic. 05:13 You'll probably make another one. 05:17 Tenielle, thanks so much for being with us today. 05:20 I can surely tell you are an expert on barking owls. 05:22 Thanks, Ranger Dwight. 05:24 Kids, and never forget nature's got second book, 05:26 get out there and take a look. 05:29 They are the wings so come on this. 05:31 No, I think that doesn't let him go. 05:32 It's got a great balance though. 05:49 Majesty worship His Majesty 05:55 Unto Jesus be all glory 06:00 Power and praise 06:04 Majesty, Kingdom authority Flow from His throne 06:12 Unto his own, His anthem raise 06:17 So exalt, lift up on high The Name of Jesus 06:24 Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King 06:32 Majesty worship His Majesty 06:38 Jesus who died, now glorified King of all Kings 06:54 Welcome to Learning Time. 06:55 I'm glad you've joined us today. 06:57 And today we have a very special program 07:00 and we are here in beautiful Collegedale, Tennessee, 07:03 aren't we? Yes. 07:06 Now today we're gonna do an experiment 07:08 that you gonna need some help if you gonna do this. 07:10 But you can do this at home and it's cool. 07:12 I've got something over here on the table 07:13 but before we get to that I want to find out 07:16 who are helpers are. 07:17 So let's start out with the two young ladies first. 07:20 Can you tell everybody who you are? 07:21 My name is Amelia. 07:22 Hey, thanks for helping us today. 07:24 And you are? Talitha. 07:26 Well, thanks for helping me. 07:28 We have two young men right here and you are? Candon. 07:31 Hey, thanks for helping. 07:32 And we've got our last person. 07:34 Daniel. Daniel. 07:35 Hey, everybody like science, don't they? Yeah. 07:37 Yeah, you like science? I do too. 07:40 Well, what is this thing right here? 07:41 Lava lamp. It's a lava lamp. 07:44 It's there real lava inside? No. 07:47 No, but it sure looks like it. 07:48 Today we're going to teach you 07:49 how you can make your own lava lamp. 07:52 Well, that be fun? Yes. 07:53 That would be fun. 07:54 Let's put our safety glasses on. 07:56 Put your safety glasses on. 07:57 Now you gonna need some kind of a bottle. 07:59 We've got three bottles, 08:00 one here and one here and one here. 08:02 And we're gonna take the water 08:03 and we're gonna put water in the bottle. 08:05 And they are gonna use a funnel. 08:06 So go ahead and put your water right in there. 08:08 We're gonna be very careful and pour it in. 08:10 You need about one fourth of water. 08:13 So if you have big, big container like this 08:16 fill it with a forth a cup of water just like that. 08:19 Okay, and they are being very careful, very, very good. 08:21 Now we have something here. 08:23 This is the next ingredient. 08:24 What's this? Oil. 08:26 This is oil, it's regular cooking oil. 08:29 And so we're going to put cooking oil on top of the water. 08:32 Does water and oil mix? No. 08:36 No, it doesn't mix. 08:38 So we're gonna slowly pour that oil in. 08:40 In fact, well, we go ahead 08:41 and I'm gonna help you do this. 08:43 We're gonna hold it on and angle like this to pour it in. 08:46 That way maybe we won't make so many bubbles in there, okay. 08:51 We will hold it on an angle like that. 08:53 Okay, pour it all in, there we go. 08:56 Okay, just like that one there. 08:58 We might need a little more oil right here. 09:00 And so here let me pour you some more oil, okay. 09:04 Just like that. 09:05 All right, there we go. 09:06 And I'm gonna pour some more oil in here for you 09:08 because we're gonna need a little more oil. 09:10 Okay, all right, so here let me help me do this. 09:13 Go ahead and put some more oil in just almost to the top. 09:16 Okay, you can pour the rest of it in for you. 09:18 And pour it all in there. 09:20 There you go pour it in, keep pouring, keep pouring. 09:23 Okay, just about like that. 09:25 That's about perfect. 09:27 Okay, now we're gonna take our little funnels 09:29 let's put them out of the way. 09:31 Okay, how we doing? 09:32 Okay, put a little more in yours. 09:33 Okay, I help you, I help, there you go. 09:36 Pour it all in. Pour it all in. 09:38 Okay, well, right there, 09:40 okay, beautiful that's about exactly where we want it. 09:43 Now the next thing we're going to do 09:44 is we're going to color the oil or we gonna color the water? 09:50 What would happen 09:51 if we put food coloring in oil would it color the oil? No. 09:55 Oh, no food coloring won't color that. 09:57 So we're going to take our color 10:00 and we're going to put 10 drops, 10:02 okay, put 10 drops right inside. 10:03 Watch those drops as they go down. 10:05 They are gonna go down and there are gonna count 10:07 and keep going. 10:08 We're gonna put 10 in there. 10:09 Oh, look at there, they are going down. 10:11 Is it mixing with the oil? No. 10:13 No, no, it's not mixing and it's gonna go down, 10:16 it's gonna hit that line right there. 10:18 Oh, what's happening? 10:19 Here's this mixing with the water. 10:21 Did you see that? 10:22 Now in order for us to make the lava lamp 10:25 to look like it's boiling and we have lava inside 10:28 we're gonna use these little tiny tablets today. 10:31 Now these tablets are what we called effervescent tablets. 10:34 And you can get them at the store. 10:36 And when you put them in water, what did they do? Bubble. 10:39 They bubble, that's right. 10:40 They form some carbon dioxide bubble. 10:42 So that's what I want you to do. 10:43 Go ahead and put one or two in there. 10:45 There you go. 10:47 Put it in there just like that 10:48 and we ought to be able to see-- 10:50 well, look I'm seeing-- keep going, keep going, 10:51 we're gonna get some action going in there. 10:54 Oh, look at there and your's is red we got some green 10:57 and he has some blue right there. 10:59 We're gonna put that all in there. 11:01 Okay, slow down a little bit. 11:02 Wow, look at that. 11:04 Isn't that cool? 11:06 Is that look like a lava lamp? Yes. 11:09 Oh, yeah, it looks like a lava lamp 11:12 and if it starts to-- if the bubble start to slow down 11:15 we can put another tablet in. 11:18 Isn't that cool? 11:19 Now I'm gonna take this top of this lava lamp out right here 11:23 and let's see what we can do. 11:24 We can actually-- it's a little prettier 11:26 when you show some light down there. 11:28 Isn't that interesting? 11:29 I think so. 11:31 You know what, when God made the earth, 11:34 when He created the earth 11:36 He created it so we have hot, hot magma. 11:40 That's right, the center of the earth 11:42 it's very, very hot and that helps our earth 11:44 to maintain a super, super temperature. 11:48 We don't get too cold and we don't get too hot, 11:51 isn't that cool? Yes. 11:52 I think so, and that's what that reminds me of. 11:54 You know, every time we learn more about science 11:57 we learn more about our Creator, God. 12:08 Joseph, please let me off this donkey. 12:11 I will. 12:12 Here. 12:13 Baby Jesus is coming soon. 12:15 All right, I will get you the best place in town. 12:17 Please hurry. Excuse me part me move. 12:19 Please make way my wife is about ready to give birth. 12:22 Excuse me, excuse me. 12:24 Here, here's what? 12:25 Hello, hello, hello, is anybody there? 12:28 Hello, hello. 12:30 Oh, please, does anybody know where there is and inn. 12:33 Is there any place to have room? 12:36 Oh, right here. 12:37 It's okay, Mary. 12:39 It's okay. No. 13:08 Anything, anything. There is no room. 13:09 I can't help you. 13:10 Is there any place, anything you can do for me? 13:13 Listen I've got a stable out there 13:15 if you want to use it welcome to, good night. 13:17 You hear that, Mary, we have a place. 13:19 Come on let's go. 13:20 It will be okay. It really will be okay. 13:30 Have you noticed how unusually quiet 13:32 and peaceful the sheep are tonight? 13:37 Yes, you are right. 13:39 They do appear calm. 13:43 Look, now the lights of Bethlehem 13:46 seem brighter than we've ever seen. 13:48 Yes, they do indeed. Oh. 13:53 Glory to God in the highest, peace, goodwill toward men. 14:00 Fear not, if I bring you good tidings of great joy 14:04 which shall be to all people 14:06 for unto you is born this day in the City of David, 14:11 a Savior which is Christ the Lord. 14:14 And this shall be a sign unto you. 14:17 You will find the babe 14:18 wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger. 14:31 Just look at little baby Jesus' face. 14:34 It's seems to be shining with the glory of God 14:38 and feels like all of heaven is here. 14:41 Yes, Mary, it does. 14:44 And the shepherds coming to worship the baby Jesus. 14:48 It must have been the angels that told them He was here. 14:53 Such a humble place, a stable with animals 14:57 for the Savior of the world to be born then. 15:00 What can this mean? I don't know, Mary. 15:03 All I know is with God there is always a reason 15:09 and a perfect plan. 15:13 Look, Mary, someone else is coming. 15:20 We three kings have come from a far 15:23 for we have studied the stars 15:25 and His star has shown in the night 15:28 and we have followed the star and it has led us to this place. 15:34 We have come to worship the new born king 15:38 and I bring a gift of pure Persian gold for our king. 15:49 And I bring the finest myrrh that Arabia has to offer. 15:56 And from India I bring our most precious gift 16:01 a frankincense for the new born king. 16:06 But this does not compare to God's greatest gift 16:09 in giving us His only Son 16:11 the Messiah, 16:15 King of kings. 16:18 Oh, savior of the world we worship you. 16:40 Luke 2 8-11. 16:42 "Now there were in the same country 16:44 shepherds living out in the fields, 16:47 keeping watch over their flock by night. 16:49 And behold, an angel of the Lord 16:50 stood before them, 16:52 and the glory of the Lord shone around them, 16:54 and they were greatly afraid. 16:56 Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, 16:59 for behold, I bring you good tidings 17:01 of great joy which will be to all people. 17:04 For there is born to you this day 17:06 in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'" 17:16 In a little town of Bethlehem 17:22 early in the morning 17:27 In a stable just behind the inn 17:33 joy was born 17:39 Joy was born Joy was born 17:45 On that first Christmas morn 17:51 Joy was born Joy was born 17:56 As the Savior of the world 18:05 The king of kings from heaven above 18:11 Came to set us free 18:17 He died that we might live with Him 18:23 for eternity 18:29 Joy was born Joy was born 18:34 On that first Christmas morn 18:40 Joy was born Joy was born 18:46 As the savior of the world 18:52 A package was small but the gift was so great 18:57 It was a baby boy that we now celebrate 19:03 He created the worlds by a spoken command 19:09 Now He holds the world in the palm of His hand 19:16 No, it wasn't just a baby boy born 19:18 that first Christmas morn. 19:20 It was the almighty counselor, prince of peace, 19:23 the lion of Judea, king of kings, 19:26 and the Lord of lords. 19:30 Joy was born Joy was born 19:35 On that first Christmas morn 19:41 Joy was born Joy was born 19:47 As the savior of the world 19:53 Joy was born Joy was born 19:58 As the savior of the world 20:21 Its time for Miss Brenda's Book of the Day. 20:25 Oh, and you are wondering this doesn't look like a book 20:27 and it's not a book. 20:29 This is a very special DVD it's called "Love Rules" 20:33 and every song on this DVD was written by 20:37 a very special friend of Kids Time, 20:39 Danny Shelton. 20:41 And guess what, boys and girls, 20:42 He is here on the program with us today. 20:44 HI, Danny, thanks for being with us. 20:45 Hi, Miss Brenda, how are you. 20:46 And hi, kids, how are you all doing today? 20:48 Thank you, for having me. 20:50 This is wonderful. 20:51 Well, I'm so excited you are here 20:52 and I have to tell you I love every single one of these songs. 20:56 Now you wrote all of these songs? 20:57 I wrote them and Lord given to me. 21:00 And as He begin to give them to me 21:02 over a period of a few months begin to write them down 21:05 and said, you know what, we need a project 21:07 to give to the kids. 21:08 And the Lord really blessed with this, Brenda. 21:10 I'll tell you why, because I didn't really said out 21:13 to write a kids album, 21:16 kids CD I just didn't do it, 21:18 but I have a burden for young people 21:21 that they have an opportunity to learn about Jesus. 21:24 Because when we look all around us 21:26 the world has so many things to draw our children's attentions 21:30 away from God and the Bible. That's right. 21:32 And I said, you know what, 21:34 I think the Lord has wanted me to do this 21:36 so almost every song has scripture in it, 21:38 it has certain doctrines and points of faith in the Bible 21:42 and so we just want to encourage to young people 21:45 and God has blessed this a way 21:46 more than I could ever have even thought. 21:50 I'm really excited 'cause as God has gifted you 21:52 with song writing and with singing 21:54 and so much musical talent 21:56 and you've done so much of that for adults 21:57 and I know you've even kids love your adult music 22:01 that's for them. 22:02 But that do something special 22:03 just for kids really touched my heart. 22:05 And just some of the songs on here 22:07 "Love God and keep His commandments" 22:09 I love this one. 22:11 What inspired you 22:13 and what do you think the biggest benefit? 22:14 I know what it is 22:15 but what is the biggest benefit of this song? 22:17 I ask adults that I knew 22:19 can you recite the Ten Commandments for me 22:22 and most of them said, 22:23 I think I know but I'm not sure I could do. 22:26 I said, you don't know the Ten Commandments? 22:28 I probably could get through some said. 22:30 I know the short version, I couldn't do the long. 22:33 I said, you know what, how do we expect 22:34 our children to learn the Commandments of God 22:38 and to keep His Commandments 22:39 if we don't know on ourself. That's right. 22:41 So the Lord gave me this song that we sing about it 22:43 and then virtually every one of the commandments 22:46 is done here by young folk. 22:48 That's right because you sing on all these songs 22:50 but also we have kids that came and sing with you and... 22:53 Oh, thank to Lord, for these young folks 22:56 who really are talented in singing. 22:57 And all the kids say, all the text, 22:59 I mean, that's a pretty amazing the fact that they could just, 23:02 you know, that 'cause I love this, boys and girls, 23:05 because there is Bible text through out every song. 23:07 Every song it's a really amazing. 23:09 Then you've got Jesus is the key to heaven. 23:11 Absolutely. 23:12 And I want to thank the Lord for Miss Brenda too. 23:15 And Yvonne for working out the background singers 23:18 and when they come in the arrangements 23:20 and then organizing in the studio, 23:22 you bring in these young people 23:23 and working with them to keep them up beat, 23:25 and keep them going 23:27 and you'd see that an incredible job she really does. 23:30 We had a lot of fun 23:32 and I know those kids were shining and singing for Jesus. 23:35 Absolutely, absolutely. They really were. 23:36 And the Jesus says the key to heaven only He unlocks the door 23:40 and we need to know that. 23:41 The trinity, this is an important song 23:43 most adults don't understand the trinity. 23:45 It's very hand to understand, 23:47 you know, God the Father, 23:49 God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and I said, 23:51 you know, maybe and again the Lord implanted these 23:54 I'm sure my mind is planted in here 23:56 so again to do it in a very simple way 23:59 so that we all can understand them. 24:00 And then we have "Joy was Born" 24:02 which we just watched the video on that so... 24:04 I actually wrote on Christmas day. That's right. 24:06 Sat on the computer, got up early in the morning 24:08 and all of the sudden it hit me. 24:10 I was thinking about the birth of Christ, 24:11 oh, we know is not the December 25 24:13 but it did happen. 24:14 Whenever it was and I said, well, that day joy was born. 24:18 He gives us joy, He is the center of our joy 24:21 and as I thought about 24:22 that the Lord gave me this joy was born. 24:24 All right, that is just amazing 24:26 and then "He promises go ye Kids Time," 24:29 I love that one of course. Oh, yeah. 24:31 No wonder why, boys and girls. 24:32 And we have "on this you Sabbath day," 24:34 this is a very special one to me to teach our kids. 24:38 I think it's important that we understand 24:41 God has laws and He has precepts 24:43 and with all of that comes His promises 24:47 and if we want God's blessing in our life 24:49 we need to live up to all the light 24:50 that we have and be blessed. 24:52 The Sabbath is a blessing to us. 24:54 That's right, it is. 24:55 It's God gift to us and we have 24:56 "Let's all praise the Lord" and "The hour of His judgment." 25:00 And this is really the title song "Love Rules." 25:05 And it's like love rules, you know, what was your... 25:09 I had all the songs done 25:11 and I thought I was finished I had 10 songs 25:13 and I just sat down and that literally God is love 25:17 is what the Bible says and I looked around us 25:19 and all the things that are happening this world I said, 25:22 sometimes it seems like there is nothing good. 25:24 Then I said, you know what, love rules the universe. 25:26 If God is love He rules the universe. 25:29 So God is love there is rules at home, 25:31 and rules at school, rules on the playground, 25:34 and rules in the pool, but there is one rule 25:36 that is the best and if we keep this rule 25:38 you'll be blessed, isn't it cool that love rules? 25:41 Well, in the few seconds remaining tell us if they-- 25:43 if boys and girls want to get a copy you have a DVD, 25:47 you have a CD. Absolutely we have... 25:48 You hold the CDs so that can play 25:50 in your CD player on your car. 25:52 And we have sound tracks of all the songs 25:54 they can get and sing with them their self. 25:56 And then we have the Love Rules! 25:58 song book also that's piano and vocal arrangements 26:02 and all that they can get through Kids Time 26:05 going to your website or 3ABN 26:07 wherever they want to go it's available. 26:08 So if you go to 3abn.org you can purchase it right there 26:13 during non-Sabbath hours. 26:15 Well, Danny, I want to thank you so much for being with us. 26:17 Keep writing songs for Jesus, 26:19 oh, yeah, don't forget the kids. 26:21 Love Rules 2 is on the way. 26:22 Remember its Kids Time to share Jesus. 26:38 Kids' Time. 27:01 Kids' Time.
