Not always Furry. 01:47 Your real name is? Brain. 01:49 Brian, well, I am so glad here today 01:50 and we have special reptile, a snake. 01:54 Kids, can you see this is a python. 01:56 What kind of a python is this? 01:57 This is called as a central carpet python, 01:59 we can tell that by colors, so its well suited to the desert 02:03 but if we were to find a carpet python around here 02:06 if they would be green bright, to see the ceramic. 02:09 Now this python is how old? 02:12 Probably around 10 years old. Ten years old. 02:14 I've had it for about four years now. 02:15 So right now it knows you pretty well? Yeah. 02:17 Seems pretty comfortable with you. Yeah. 02:18 It keep's looking me at me for its, 02:20 its not going to bite me anything is it? No. 02:22 Now It is very friendly, she gets over child, 02:24 kids, and things. 02:25 Okay, even I guess, 02:27 I guess its okay. It's so good. 02:29 Furry, look at that teeth. Are those teeth on that thing? 02:32 Now they actually hate something pinch. 02:34 I hope they are trying to feed even night time 02:36 so seeking inaccurate vision. 02:38 Oh, wow that is so cool. 02:40 So how long does a python like this live? 02:44 Probably, yeah, 20 or 30 years old. 02:46 That's a long time, kids. 02:48 And tell me about that the, scales 02:51 does this-- does this shed? 02:52 Yeah, shed that time, Five to six times a year. 02:56 Is that, why so many times? 02:58 Depends on how fast it's growing. 03:00 So it widens that cause shed 03:02 a lot more than adults what do. 03:03 Okay. Okay. 03:06 You thing it like's me? Yeah. 03:09 So how many young does it have? Almost like me, pretty good. 03:16 Kids, this is kind of exciting. 03:19 This way around--this way go up her in the shoulder. 03:21 Oh, okay. Hear we go. 03:22 Now. Okay. 03:26 I am not sure Ranger Dwight likes all this. 03:28 But it's okay I can feel its really pulling. 03:30 Yep. It's muscles. 03:32 They pull the muscles, yep 03:33 and make those muscles to be out to kill their food. Yes. 03:36 And also to conquer its world. 03:38 I hope it doesn't want to kill me, Furry. 03:39 Definitely not. Okay. 03:41 Well it looks like its getting actuated to me. 03:44 Now this, this is about the size, 03:46 but it gets much bigger than this. 03:48 For this so this has gained very close to maximum size, 03:52 but the other ones will get around this area 03:54 around the Gold Coast grow through 03:56 up to about three to four meters. 03:58 So lot large than this. 03:59 So three to four meters will be what, 04:01 12 to 15 feet or something or? More than 12 foot mark. 04:04 Twelve foot mark, that's big. Wow. 04:07 Well, kids, isn't that exciting. 04:09 I'd bet you would like to hang on 04:10 one of these too or may be some day. 04:14 Now how many younger they have? 04:16 These have eggs, so that's lot of clutch of eggs. 04:20 Probably would be about somewhere 04:21 between 10 and anything up to about 30 eggs. 04:24 Up to 30 eggs. At a time. 04:26 And now, yeah that take 04:27 about usually 60 days to hatch them. 04:29 Well really. 04:30 So how many will live, I mean that's a lot. 04:33 Probably out of the clutch-- probably any one percent. 04:36 One percent, wow. 04:39 Well, this is pretty exciting. 04:40 What else now, you know on snake 04:42 some one have like little feet 04:44 or used to be with little feet--is this one. 04:46 Your taking about this sparse. 04:48 Okay, this sparse. Tell me about this sparse. 04:50 If you have a look at this sparse 04:52 they are like little, little late really. 04:55 And what they do is they use to tickle 04:58 the frame out and yeah, okay. 05:00 Wow kids, is it that neat. 05:02 Now the colors are for camouflage or? Yeah. 05:05 Totally for camouflage and beautiful red's 05:08 and oranges that help it to camouflage 05:11 through the desert. Wow. 05:13 Furry, it's been a great pleasure 05:15 having you with us today. 05:16 I have learned a lot more about these snakes. 05:20 Kids, remember nature's got second book, 05:23 get out there and take a look. Wow, it's amazing. 05:39 Joshua fought the battle of Jericho 05:44 Jericho, Jericho 05:49 Joshua fought the battle of Jericho 05:53 And the walls came tumbling down! 05:58 You can talk about your men of Gideon 06:03 You can talk about your men of Saul 06:08 But there's none like good old Joshua 06:13 And the battle of Jericho 06:19 Joshua fought the battle of Jericho 06:24 Jericho, Jericho 06:29 Joshua fought the battle of Jericho 06:33 And the walls came tumbling down! 06:38 Right up to the walls of Jericho 06:43 He marched with spear in hand 06:48 "Go blow them ram horns," Joshua cried 06:53 'Cause the battle is in my hand 06:58 Yes the battle is in my hands. 07:04 And the wall came 07:07 tumbling down! 07:23 Welcome to Learning Time. 07:25 I am glad you joined us today 07:26 and today we are in beautiful Collegedale, Tennessee. 07:30 Aren't we? Yes! 07:33 And we have got an interesting science experiment for you 07:36 and you can't do this at home, 07:38 but you could probably build one of these with some help. 07:41 Well, I've got some helpers. 07:42 Let's find out who we have. 07:43 I have two young ladies right here. 07:45 Would you mind introducing yourself to this? 07:47 My name is Melanie. 07:48 Melanie, thanks for helping us today. 07:50 And you are? 07:51 My name is Rachel. Rachel. 07:52 What happen to your arm, Rachel? 07:53 I fracture it. You fractured it. 07:55 I am so sorry, but thanks for helping us today. 07:58 We have two gentle men right here 07:59 and you are? Jimmy. 08:00 Jimmy, thanks for doing this experiment with us. 08:03 And you are? 08:04 Wesley. Wesley. 08:05 Wesley, I am glad you are here as well. 08:07 Now we got something really big over there, 08:08 what do you suppose it looks like? 08:10 A catapult. 08:11 Looks like catapult, but its not. 08:12 It's a trebuchet. 08:14 A catapult use some kind of springing device, 08:16 here the trebuchet, it just uses some counter weights. 08:19 And so would you like to see 08:21 how it works? Yeah. 08:22 Would you like to see how it works? Yes. 08:23 Would you like to see? Yeah! 08:25 Hey, let's come over here, put your glasses on, 08:28 put your safety glasses on. 08:29 Line up over here and let's see what we got right here. 08:31 First of all we have some weights. 08:34 Right now we have force. 08:35 We have got these weights right here or the force, 08:38 and there is 20 pounds of force 08:40 on the force arm, of our trebuchet. 08:43 Then we have a pivot fitting arm right here. 08:45 This pivots on a fulcrum, 08:47 and then right here we have a tennis racquet. 08:49 Now that tennis racquet is going to hold our resistance 08:53 which is going to be this ball. 08:55 Now Rachel, why don't you grab a hold with that ball 08:57 and you know Melanie, we got to figure out 08:59 how far the trebuchet is going to make the ball go, right. 09:04 So you can have our marker, as soon as we shoot this off, 09:07 you can measure it with the marker. 09:09 Okay, so why don't you get right over here? 09:11 All we need to do now is to pull this arm down. 09:13 Can you guys pull that arm down? 09:15 We got our two big strong guys, 09:17 we are gonna pull this arm down just like that, excellent. 09:20 Okay and I'm gonna hold it here. 09:21 Rachel is gonna put that ball right in there, 09:23 may be the ball happens to be resistance. 09:26 And then all we need is a countdown. 09:28 Are you ready three to one? Let's go. 09:30 Three, two, one and lets get that thing be go. 09:35 Wow, went right there. 09:37 Melanie is going to measure that thing. 09:39 Okay write there, okay and come on back right here. 09:42 Let's go and stop our swinging arm right over here. 09:45 Now yeah come on and close to right here. 09:47 Did you like the way that thing shot out there? 09:49 Did you like the way that shot out there? 09:51 Yes. Yeah. 09:53 Now you know what, 09:54 if we want-- if we want the sphere 09:56 or the ball to go farther 09:58 what are we gonna have to do? Put more weights. 10:01 Should have to put more weights. 10:03 So you know, I have got Taylor. 10:04 Taylor is part of our crew. 10:05 Taylor, would you help me put some weights on it, right. 10:08 Right now we have 20 pounds, 10:10 and so we are going to put 10:11 another 25 pounds on each side, right. 10:16 And makes that how much? Seventy pounds, that's right. 10:21 And then we have another 45 pounds on each side, 10:25 and that should make a total of about 160 pounds 10:29 and that's all what a weight. 10:31 In fact that's about how much I weight about 160 pounds 10:36 and we got the all tight, 10:38 and its got be very, very tighten us, you know. 10:40 That looks good Taylor, thanks for helping me with that. 10:43 Hey, you think you two guys 10:45 can pull the arm down? Let's give it a try. 10:47 Here we go and I think 170 or 160 pounds 10:50 is more than they weight. 10:52 I think they are having whole trouble. 10:53 Let me help. Here we go. 10:55 Here we...Okay. Let me get over here. 10:59 There we go. Oh, my, there we go. 11:01 Rachel is gonna put it in there. Okay I have got it. 11:04 You guys get back to that black one. 11:06 How about a count down, guys? Let's go, three, two, one. 11:11 Let's-- let it go. 11:13 Wow. Way down there. 11:16 Come on up here, guys. 11:18 It went--did it go further? Yes. 11:20 It went a little what further because we added more what? 11:25 Weight. Weight. 11:27 Now I asked you a question. 11:28 The question was if we want the ball 11:31 to go further we're gonna have to, what? 11:33 Add more weight. Add more weight. 11:35 So you're asking for more weight. 11:37 Now you know in the Bible, here is the story about Jabez. 11:41 Now Jabez was an interesting man 11:43 because you know what? 11:44 He asked God for a double blessing. 11:48 He wanted God to bless him indeed 11:51 and to increases his territory for him. 11:54 You know, what God did? 11:55 He blessed Jabez. Just like us asking. 11:59 You know, sometimes if we don't ask God for things, 12:02 He can't help us. 12:03 God would like to have us ask for the Holy Spirit 12:07 and that Holy Spirit can be and live within our lives 12:10 Isn't that cool? Yeah. 12:11 I think so too. 12:13 And you know what, when we learn more about science 12:16 we learn more about our Creator, God. 12:28 Tola, Tola, where is my son Jacob? 12:30 I saw him just a while ago. There he is. 12:34 Oh, Jacob, Jacob there you are. Jacob. 12:36 Mother, everything okay? What is going on earth? 12:38 Your father is planning a secret meeting 12:40 with Esau tonight to give him the birthright blessing. 12:43 The birthright blessing, 12:44 Esau sold that to me for a part of lentils that's mine. 12:47 Yes, he has it now on a hunt right now. No. 12:51 Why is father doing that? 12:52 Well, what we gonna do? Leave it up to me. 12:54 I want you to go out to the back field 12:55 and bring me two kid goats and come right to my tent. 12:58 Okay. Okay, let's go. Okay. 13:02 And you will receive that birthright blessing. 13:09 Mother, I don't feel very good about this. 13:12 Esau so hairy and I am so smooth skin. 13:16 Father's blind but he's never gonna believe this. 13:19 That's why I'm putting this goat's skin on you 13:22 so that when your father touches it he will think its Esau. Okay. 13:28 I don't like deceiving father. 13:30 I don't like deceiving him either 13:32 but the angel told me 13:34 you're to receive the birthright blessing. 13:37 I'm just trying to make it happen. 13:40 Okay, but-- but if father finds out 13:42 that I'm deceiving him, he's gonna curse me 13:44 instead of blessing me, I can't have that. 13:47 If that should happen I'll take the blame. 13:51 Deborah, is the first grape juice 13:53 ready to take to Isaac? Yes, Mrs. Rebekah. 13:57 We have to move quickly, 13:58 Esau will be coming back from his hunt soon. 14:02 Oh, I can't do this. 14:03 Yes, you can do this. Yes, you can. 14:05 Let's go. Go, go. 14:09 Who--who's in my tent? Who is it? 14:14 Speak up, speak up. Who is it? 14:17 I'm Esau, your first born. Esau. 14:19 I'm here for my birthright blessing. 14:21 Esau, you're back so soon from the hunt, Esau. 14:27 Yes, the Lord, your God has blessed me. 14:30 Here some savory meat. 14:33 Oh, smells like the savory meat is all okay. 14:37 Oh, delicious. Mind a drink. 14:41 Thank you, thank you, Esau. 14:43 Thank you very much. Thank you. 14:47 Are you sure you are Esau. I am. 14:49 Let me smell you. 14:53 Yes, hand feels like Esau, smells like Esau. 15:00 The voice--the voice sounds like Jacob. 15:06 You're sure that you are Esau? 15:09 I am sure. 15:10 Father, bless me, give me the birthright blessing. 15:16 May the God of heaven bless you my son. 15:21 May the dew of heaven bless your fields, 15:26 may the greeneries befall in your wine 15:29 that's over flowing. 15:31 May your flocks be abundant. 15:37 May your family serve you 15:40 and the nations around you bow down 15:43 and those who curse you, 15:46 may they be cursed 15:48 and those who bless you may they be blessed. 15:53 You've received your birthright, Esau. 15:57 My son you've now received the birthright blessing. 16:02 Oh, thank you, my father. Thank you. 16:05 Quick, quick. Hide. 16:07 Watch for your brother, quick. 16:16 Oh, there he is. 16:22 Father. Father, wake up. 16:24 It's me Esau. Esau. 16:26 Yes, your first born son. 16:28 What are you doing here, Esau? Did you forget something? 16:31 What do you mean? I just got back from the hunt. 16:34 And I've just prepared this your favorite meat for you 16:37 that you may eat it 16:38 and I may receive my birthright blessing. 16:40 Blessing? I gave you your blessing. 16:43 What? Yes, the blessings been given. 16:46 To who? 16:52 To Jacob. 16:54 I gave it to your brother. I've been deceived. 16:59 No, father. Yes, I've been. 17:01 Father, find a blessing for me. 17:03 Bless me father, please. 17:06 There will be no dew heaven 17:07 on your fields, Esau. It can't be. 17:10 You will be living by the sword, 17:13 and you'll serve your brother 17:17 until-- until you rebel 17:22 and then you'll no longer be under his control. 17:27 I've been deceived. 17:30 I've been deceived by-- 17:31 No, it's mine. Go, Esau, go. 17:36 Oh, Jacob. Jacob. 17:40 Why have you taken my birthright blessing from me? 17:43 That is mine. I hate you. 17:46 I'm going to kill you. Oh, I'll kill you. 17:53 Jacob. Jacob. 17:54 It's mother where are you, Jacob? 17:56 Oh, Jacob there you are? There you are, Jacob. 17:59 How angry is, Esau? Esau is so angry. 18:02 He has vowed to kill you. 18:04 My own brother. Yes. 18:06 He's gonna kill me. Yes. 18:07 You must go to my brother Laban's house, 18:09 you'll be safe there. Okay, I am leaving. 18:14 I have deceived my brother. 18:17 I have deceived my own father by making him fake 18:20 I was Esau with wearing his clothes. 18:25 He was so hurt. I have sin against God. 18:31 Oh mother, what have we done? 18:36 What have you done? I'm sorry, son. 18:40 I must help you get ready for this long journey, please. 18:57 Don't build your house on the sandy-land 19:00 Don't build it too near the shore 19:03 Well, it might look kind of nice 19:05 But you'll have to build it twice 19:07 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more 19:10 You better build your house upon the rock 19:13 Make a good foundation on a solid spot 19:16 And though the storms may come and go 19:20 But the peace of God you will know 19:23 Don't build your house on the sandy-land 19:27 Don't build it too near the shore 19:30 Well, it may look kind of nice 19:31 But you'll have to build it twice 19:33 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more 19:36 Well, it may look kind of nice 19:38 But you'll have to build it twice 19:40 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more 19:50 It's time for Miss Brenda's book of the day. 19:54 And today's book is called Julia. 19:57 And it's written by Hellen Godfrey Pyke. 19:59 It's all about a young girl who learns to face courageously 20:04 the overwhelming challenges in her life. 20:07 That she has overcome 20:08 because Jesus was with her every step of the way. 20:11 This book Julia by Hellen Godfrey Pyke. 20:15 Well, I can't wait to introduce our guest today. 20:17 His name is Jeremiah. 20:19 Hi, Jeremiah. Hi. 20:21 Welcome to the program today. 20:23 I'm so glad you came. Thank you. 20:25 Well you have a wonderful way of witnessing for Jesus 20:28 that really touched Miss Brenda's heart. 20:30 And you witness for Jesus everyday at school, 20:33 don't you? Yes. 20:35 And tell me in a particular instance you were-- 20:39 you really tried-- 20:40 was able to share an album with your classmates, 20:42 but with your teacher, tell me about it. 20:45 You know, I took light 20:46 to tell my friends about the Sabbath 20:50 and that they should go to church on the Sabbath 20:54 and I so do that is okay, to pray on Sunday's 21:01 but that is not the Sabbath, 21:03 it is not the same and so doing that is foolish 21:08 to watch idols because it is manmade. 21:12 We need help, it can't help you. 21:17 Well, idols can't help us, can they 21:18 because they just you know made of like you say, 21:22 material things but God is an all powerful God. 21:26 Only God can help us, 21:27 right? Right. 21:29 And then you were-- 21:30 what I understand is, is that your friends, 21:34 parents started complaining 21:36 because you talked about God so much 21:38 and your teachers started you know, complaining 21:40 because you talked about God so much. 21:42 And in fact one time when you were witnessing 21:45 what-- your teacher what did she say to you? 21:47 She--teacher tell Jeremiah, 21:51 stop talking about Jesus in school. 21:53 She said to stop talking about Jesus in school 21:56 and then she said, what, can you prove it? 21:58 She wanted to know if all the things 21:59 you were saying is true, 22:00 isn't that something and you said, yes. 22:02 And so you brought her some special books to read 22:06 and when she got done with all that book she said, 22:10 do you have another book I could read. 22:11 And she--and you kept bringing her books, 22:13 didn't you? Yes. 22:15 Said to read. 22:16 And then she gave you an assignment, 22:17 I think you have it, can I-- can I see this. 22:20 She had a spelling, 22:21 special spelling assignment that she gave him. 22:23 And said that you were supposed to-- 22:27 she gave you spelling words 22:28 and you were supposed to use those spelling words 22:29 in a sentence, right? Right. 22:31 And I love every single one of your sentences 22:36 had something do with God. 22:38 And listen to this, one of his words was love. 22:40 And he wrote, For God so loved the world. 22:43 And then one was come, 22:45 and he said, come neither love the Lord. 22:47 Another one was keep, and he wrote, 22:48 Keep the Sabbath holy. 22:50 Perfect, he said, God is perfect. 22:52 For mother, he wrote, Honor thy father and thy mother. 22:54 Every single word you had something to say about God. 22:58 And I know that really touched the heart of your teacher 23:02 and she is learning 23:03 by all the books you're bringing to her. 23:06 And tell me what did you-- 23:08 what ended up happening 23:09 because recently God really truly blessed 23:12 throughout your whole witness at school, what happened? 23:17 My teacher didn't like it taking notes on. 23:22 She start saying Jeremiah, 23:24 you stop talking about Jesus in school. 23:27 That's right, she said your-- 23:29 your mother and grandma got notes home saying 23:32 don't talk about Jesus in school, 23:34 tell your son not to talk about Jesus. 23:36 And yet you kept shining for Jesus 23:38 even though they told him not to. 23:40 And guess what boy's and girls, 23:42 just recently his teacher gave her heart to the Lord 23:46 and was baptized. 23:48 Is that not awesome? Yes. 23:50 You must have been so happy 23:54 and are you continuing to talk about Jesus in school 23:56 because you go to a Christian school, do you? 23:58 You got to public school.
