00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:02 We're gonna be late.
00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus
00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time,
00:26 kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time.
00:31 Hi boys and girls, have you noticed lately
00:34 that it's seem like the whole world is getting
00:36 more and more obsessed with magic and sorcery.
00:39 There's so many popular books and movies
00:41 and stories about things that are not real.
00:44 And do you know why Satan wants you to think
00:46 about things that aren't real,
00:48 because he doesn't want you to think
00:50 about things that are real.
00:51 He knows that when you think about things
00:53 that are real and good and true.
00:56 You can't help but think about God
00:58 and want to know more about Him.
01:00 So Satan tricks you and distracts you in anyway
01:04 he can with stories and music and all sorts of
01:07 entertaining things that keep you
01:08 from wanting to know more about Jesus.
01:11 This is being going on for thousands of years.
01:14 It happened even in Bible times.
01:16 You have to watch our Bible story today
01:18 to find out exactly what I'm talking about.
01:21 But right now, let's see what,
01:23 Ranger Dwight, has to show us on Nature Time.
01:33 Hey boys and girls, its Nature Time
01:35 and we got something really neat and special today.
01:38 We're in Grayling, Michigan, at beautiful Camp Au Sable.
01:41 And we're gonna talk about something really neat today.
01:44 But before we do, I want to introduce you
01:45 couple of special guest.
01:47 We've got Jack and Jennie,
01:49 they are Auntie Lynda's grandchildren.
01:52 Glad you're here kids and we got Michael and Jason
01:55 and they are Ms Brenda's grandsons.
01:57 Well, I'm so glad you're here.
01:59 You know Jason, I see that you got your hand
02:00 on a huge clam, that's pretty big, isn't it?
02:04 That's huge.
02:05 And you know once a long time ago that clam
02:10 was real and actually moved.
02:12 Now Mr. Morgan, you're here because
02:14 you are clam and shell expert
02:17 and I'm glad that you're here
02:18 because I had a clam and shell.
02:22 Collection of long time ago
02:24 when I was about Michael's age.
02:25 But I forgot all about them.
02:27 There are so many, so I want you to
02:28 tell us about shells today.
02:30 Oh, we wanna welcome you all to the Nature Center-
02:32 this is one of the special places here at camp
02:34 and we do have shells here, hundreds of different kinds
02:38 of shell from all the oceans of the world.
02:41 We do, and you know, I grabbed the book,
02:43 I was trying to do a little bit of homework.
02:46 There are just thousands of shells in this,
02:48 I was looking through these pictures.
02:51 I saw that you have more, I think
02:53 its even in this book.
02:54 Where do these come from?
02:56 All you say, all over the world?
02:58 The gentleman that started this
02:59 Nature Center years ago, he loved shells
03:01 and he knew lots of other people
03:03 that love shells and we just have
03:06 collected them from all over the ocean.
03:09 So now there were something at one time that lived in
03:11 everyone of these, and I've noticed that
03:14 every shell that I looked at, every clam has a-
03:19 they call it a shell because it's hard.
03:21 Right. And it's his protection.
03:23 Right, because the creators that lived inside
03:25 were very soft, and their bodies would not
03:28 have been had any protection at all
03:30 if they weren't for these shells
03:32 that the creature actually grew.
03:34 So kind of reminds me of something in the Bible
03:37 that God sends His guarding angels
03:39 to you and I, and He will protect us
03:42 even when we sleep because we can't protect ourselves.
03:45 But yet God in His love and His mercy
03:47 even in the ocean protects His creatures
03:52 shells and clams with the neat shell
03:55 and they're beautiful some of them. That's right.
03:57 And they're all different just like each one of us,
03:59 God created each one of us differently and He has
04:02 of different designs that He has used
04:05 to help protect these creatures.
04:07 A ton of varieties, I was looking in all these
04:10 cases and I don't hardly seen ugly shell out there.
04:14 You looked at some of them Michael,
04:15 aren't they all pretty? Yeah.
04:16 They're just amazing, aren't they?
04:17 And you know that's another lesson,
04:19 these shells and these clams are underneath water.
04:22 You just can't see them on top.
04:24 Sometimes you have to go snorkeling,
04:25 but it's like God's work.
04:27 When you get in there and you dig,
04:29 you will find God's love for you just like
04:32 if you go into the ocean and swim,
04:34 we can find these beautiful shells. That's right.
04:36 So what do these things eat?
04:40 What's their- God always has a function,
04:43 what a function of the shell?
04:45 Many of them, you know live on the bottom
04:47 of the oceans and they feed off
04:49 the bottom of the oceans, and they're just a part of
04:53 God creation and maybe it won't be until in heaven
04:56 that we understand why He created so many
04:58 and what they all have done.
05:00 But we certainly can appreciate them.
05:02 You know, I think one thing that,
05:04 that shells do they clean, they keep
05:07 the ocean really clean. I think that's so neat.
05:11 Kids never forget nature is God's second book.
05:14 So get out there and take a look.
05:33 Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah
05:37 Praise ye the Lord
05:41 Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah
05:45 Praise ye the Lord
05:49 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
05:53 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
05:57 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
06:01 Praise ye the Lord
06:05 Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah
06:09 Praise ye the Lord
06:13 Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelu, Hallelujah
06:17 Praise ye the Lord
06:21 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
06:25 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
06:29 Praise ye the Lord, Hallelujah
06:33 Praise ye the Lord
06:37 Praise ye the Lord
06:55 Welcome to Learning Time, glad you join us today.
06:58 Hey, look at this stuff on the table.
07:00 Does that look interesting? Yeah. Yeah.
07:03 What is this stuff here look like? Water.
07:06 Well, you gonna find out what it is
07:08 and it's not water.
07:10 Hey, I've got a lot of helpers here today. Sprite.
07:13 So let's see who we have?
07:14 Well, let's see we have Maria.
07:15 Now Maria, what's one of most
07:18 fun thing you like to do?
07:19 I like to run. You like to run.
07:21 Running is good sport, isn't it?
07:23 Yeah, and good exercise as well.
07:25 And then Lauren, you have a favorite sport? Basketball.
07:29 Basketball, and what position you like
07:32 to play in basketball? Offense.
07:34 Oh, that's-you know that's hard, isn't it?
07:37 Yeah, but it's really fun, that's a fun game.
07:39 And Tierra, Tierra, what would you like to be
07:41 when you grow up? A veterinarian.
07:44 Hey, that's nice because we need some people
07:46 to take care of animals, don't we? Yeah.
07:48 Yeah, all right. Look at Maxwell down here.
07:50 You think he goes to veterinary
07:52 every now and then. Yeah.
07:54 Yeah, and he is as healthy as
07:55 a horse, isn't it? Yeah.
07:58 I think so, and Kelley is also gonna help us.
08:01 So let's get all of our helpers up here.
08:03 Come up here guys. Let's see what we got.
08:05 Come around the table back here.
08:06 And we got some safety glasses for them.
08:09 So go ahead and put up a pair of safety glasses on
08:12 and I see- I'm gonna need one too.
08:13 You wanna hand me one of those over here.
08:15 Now why do we wear safety glasses?
08:18 Yeah. To protect our eyes.
08:19 To protect our eyes.
08:20 Yeah. So let's go.
08:21 And you guys look great with safety glasses on.
08:23 You like them?
08:25 Well, hardly anybody who like safety glasses.
08:27 But we have to protect our eyes.
08:28 Now today we have the stuff right here.
08:30 What is this look like to you?
08:31 Water. Looks like water.
08:33 You think its water? No.
08:35 No. it's not water at all.
08:37 So I'm gonna pour some of this in here, so here we go.
08:40 We don't want get this spilled on us,
08:41 because it's very, very strong.
08:43 We really don't-well, hang on, don't drip it.
08:46 And we really don't want to breath very much of it.
08:49 But you know, we're using it in a very,
08:51 very large open area.
08:53 So here we go look- hang on.
08:55 We gonna pour this right in there.
08:57 And that's probably about good enough.
08:59 But it's not water at all.
09:00 And I brought something else with me right here.
09:02 In fact, I've got some of this little-
09:04 what do we call these things?
09:06 Corn Balls. Well, it's not corn balls.
09:09 Well, it's look like to you.
09:11 What do we- here hold your hands out.
09:13 Here we go. And grab some of those right here.
09:15 I'm gonna give you few of them, right here.
09:17 There you go, hang in on those for us.
09:19 Okay, its okay, we can drop one.
09:21 Max would probably get it later.
09:23 Although Styrofoam is not really good for animals,
09:25 is it? No, not at all.
09:27 And here we go, you can have some of those as well.
09:29 Now Styrofoam is really interesting
09:31 and it's made out of lot of air.
09:33 So what I like to have you do.
09:35 Let's see, what can we do?
09:37 Oh, I know, Maria.
09:38 Why don't you drop yours in there.
09:40 Okay, just all at the same time,
09:42 just drop them in there.
09:44 What's happening to, and why don't you add yours too?
09:46 Drop those in there.
09:47 You can drop yours in there right now,
09:49 and you can drop them right after Tierra.
09:52 What's happening to them? It is dissolving.
09:55 They're dissolving, aren't they? That's right.
09:57 It looked like they just kind of melted
09:58 into that stuff.
09:59 Well, it was acetone and all of those things
10:02 dissolved in there, isn't that cool? Yeah.
10:05 Okay, let's try this.
10:06 Here hold your hands and let try these,
10:08 now these are starch based little packaging peanuts
10:11 and go and put those in there Maria.
10:13 Check that out, check that out,
10:14 are they dissolving? No.
10:16 No, no they are not dissolving at all.
10:19 They're just setting on there-
10:20 pour yours in there as well.
10:21 You know, that kind of reminds me,
10:23 you know during the Bible times.
10:24 The children of God, sometime they just married
10:27 other people that don't even like God
10:29 and they worshipped idols, and they were just dissolved
10:32 right into the other cultures.
10:33 And they lost their Christian heritage
10:35 and that's really a bad thing.
10:37 And, you know what, but these aren't, are they,
10:39 are they dissolving? No. No.
10:41 they're just staying, just like that.
10:43 And that's what I want to do as a Christian.
10:45 Hey, check this out. We got a head.
10:47 Here grab the head.
10:48 Hey, let's see what happens to the head in acetone.
10:51 It's made out of Styrofoam
10:53 and acetone is an organic solvent.
10:56 What's happening to the head? It's dissolving.
11:00 It's just dissolving down in there,
11:02 isn't that interesting? Yeah.
11:05 I don't know about you, but I don't want to dissolve
11:08 my Christian heritage.
11:09 I want to stay true to Jesus, and you know
11:12 we can- we got to be careful,
11:13 otherwise that can happen to you and I.
11:16 That's a bad news thing, isn't it?
11:19 And you know, solvents are really strong,
11:21 aren't they? Yeah.
11:23 Well, well, and that could be your
11:25 brains on drug, couldn't it? Yeah.
11:29 You know, every time we learn more about science,
11:32 we learn more about our creator, God.
11:48 Gather around, gather around. What?
11:50 Come and see the great Elymus. The great Elymus.
11:53 I'm the all powerful sorcerer of Patmos.
11:56 What can you do?
11:57 What can I do? Prepare to be amazed. Be amazed.
12:01 Concentrate. Look--Very closely.
12:03 What's he doing? Concentrate.
12:05 Wow. He made it float.
12:10 How did you that?
12:12 That's nothing compared to what my power can make.
12:14 Would you like to see me make fire?
12:17 Out of nothing, you can make fire out of nothing?
12:18 Right here, out of my hands. Everyone pay attention.
12:21 All right. Don't blink an eye.
12:27 How did you do that
12:28 I'm Elymus,
12:29 this is what I do. He made fire out of nothing.
12:31 What else you can do? Sir, take a look at this rope.
12:34 This is a normal rope. Okay.
12:36 Well it seems to be strong, one piece.
12:38 Sure enough. Okay. Take this knife.
12:41 I'm going to have you cut this rope in half and
12:43 the great Elymus is going to put it back
12:45 together, prepare.
12:46 You're gonna put it back together. Yes, sir, I'm.
12:49 Well, you just gonna put a knot.
12:50 Oh, right here. Cut it in half.
12:52 Okay, you ready? All right.
12:55 You can see we have thes two pieces of rope. Okay.
12:57 I'm going to tie them together now. All right.
13:01 See that's right. He's just putting a knot in it.
13:03 Yeah, look at that. Yes, see, see.
13:05 Yeah, so what-- anybody
13:07 can tie a knot like that. You think you can do this?
13:13 How did you-- how did you move it?
13:16 I cut that in half. But.
13:18 Oh, look at that. He's got one solid rope.
13:22 Wow. How about that?
13:24 That is great. Wow.
13:29 I'm the greatest. I'm the greatest.
13:32 Who's the greatest? You are. Wow.
13:37 That is so great.
13:42 My friend, that was a long boat journey.
13:45 Oh, I'm glad to be back on dry land, Paul.
13:47 I know you are. This is your country.
13:50 Yes, I prayed for this day.
13:53 And you know these people. Yes. Yes.
13:56 What are we doing here anyway, Paul?
13:59 Barnabas, will you explain again to your young nephew,
14:04 why we are here.
14:06 These people, I know them, they are searching.
14:11 There's only one who's all powerful,
14:13 and you know who that is? Yes, God.
14:14 Jesus. Jesus Christ.
14:16 This is not the man.
14:18 We are here to share with them
14:22 what we believe so strongly.
14:24 We have fasted for many days.
14:27 And we have prayed to God that He would lead us
14:30 and He has brought us to this place.
14:35 Look at her hand, Paul. She's crippled.
14:42 Do you long to be made whole? Yes.
14:47 In the name of Jesus Christ, take this withered hand
14:54 and make it whole again
14:57 to the honor and glory of Jesus.
15:03 Trickery. You are a liar.
15:09 That's great. Don't pay attention to them.
15:12 Look at this. Trickery.
15:17 You are full of deceit.
15:21 You are full of lies. No.
15:25 You are a son of the devil.
15:31 How long will you speak against
15:34 the power of the true God. Yes.
15:39 The Governor requests your presence, follow me. Yes.
15:43 Not if I get there first.
15:50 We have come as you have requested, Governor.
15:53 Yes, I've heard of your miracles
15:55 and that you have a message from your God.
15:57 I would love to hear about your Jesus.
16:01 Our God performs great miracles for His people.
16:05 Our God in heaven sent His only son to this earth
16:09 to live a perfect life.
16:11 And then He was crucified on a cross for our sins,
16:16 to pay the penalty that we deserve.
16:19 But He rose again from the grave.
16:22 And today He lives and makes miracles for his people.
16:28 But listen no more to this man,
16:30 for he is not a believer. He is a deceiver of people.
16:35 He is indeed the son of the devil,
16:39 have nothing to do with him,
16:42 even now our God to show His great power
16:46 will cause this man to become
16:50 blind before he sees in.
16:54 My eyes, my eyes, somebody help me, I can't see.
16:59 I can't see. Somebody help me. Take him, take him.
17:08 You speak with power and authority
17:12 I accept and believe in your Jesus.
17:15 It is our God who have all the power
17:18 and all the authority.
17:20 And He welcomes all who believe on His son,
17:24 Jesus Christ, the gift of eternal life.
17:28 I believe. Welcome to God's family. Welcome him.
17:32 God is great. Welcome him.
17:33 God is great. He believes. Yes.
17:35 He believes. Yes, my Lord.
17:46 (Music)
20:37 Hi, boys and girls, it's time for Miss Brenda's
20:39 book of the day.
20:42 And today's book is called
20:44 Guide's Greatest Grace Stories,
20:46 and it's by a very special author and friend
20:49 of Miss Brenda's, Lori Peckham.
20:51 And you are going to love this book.
20:53 Have you ever felt like life is just not there,
20:56 and then God covers us with
20:58 such amazing grace, doesn't He?
21:00 And that's what all the stories in this book
21:02 are about God's amazing grace.
21:04 Well, today is a special program because
21:06 we have a very special guest on today's program.
21:10 And she is also a very special friend
21:12 of Miss Brenda's and she brought along
21:13 her mom, I want you to meet, Sarah. Hi, Sarah. Hi.
21:18 And actually you are not a stranger
21:20 to Kids' Time. Are you?
21:21 And if anybody has been watching Kids' Time
21:23 for very long, they have seen you before
21:25 and they know you, don't they? Yeah.
21:28 And I know you have done some wonderful things
21:31 to share Jesus. Yeah.
21:33 You love sharing Jesus, don't you? Yeah.
21:36 And you take every advantage of sharing Him.
21:39 What have done you would like tell
21:41 the boys and girls about because I love this.
21:43 I thought this was such an awesome thing to do.
21:46 I took the packages and care--
22:06 To the dorm, you made care packages. And I--
22:18 Took them to the dormitory, didn't you? Yeah.
22:20 Took them to the dormitory for all of the students
22:23 in the dorm, boys and girls. Yeah. Right. Yeah.
22:26 And what did you-- mom,
22:27 what did they put in these care packages.
22:29 Well, Sarah, this was all Sarah's project.
22:32 She got money and we took her to the store
22:34 and she shopped for things that she can put
22:36 in the care packages.
22:38 They were some drinks and some candy and then
22:40 she bought all the kids a nice new pair of
22:43 warm gloves to put in the care packages.
22:45 And we decorated brown lunch bags, and then she put--
22:49 filled them and then we took them up to the dorm
22:51 and she passed them on to the kids.
22:53 Oh, and did the kids like them? Yeah. They did.
22:58 Where they really happy and excited
23:00 when they saw them? Yeah.
23:01 I think that is such a wonderful thing to do.
23:04 And I'm just a little curious.
23:07 What made you think of doing such
23:10 a wonderful thing and very--
23:11 that's wonderful act of kindness.
23:15 You know, this time of the year
23:16 is really hard for the dorm kids.
23:18 We are getting close to Thanks giving and Christmas.
23:20 We've got kids at Jim State Academy
23:23 that are as far away as Georgia.
23:25 And they get home sick. Sure.
23:27 And so Sarah loves making people to feel better.
23:30 And she thought that taking them a special care package
23:34 would help them, maybe not miss their family so much.
23:37 That's right.
23:38 You know Sarah, boys and girls,
23:40 you might remember, she came when she was
23:43 just 8 years old.
23:44 She came and taped a program with Miss Brenda
23:48 on Kids' Time and the Make a Wish Foundation,
23:51 they actually granted her a wish to come
23:53 and be on Kids' Time with me.
23:54 And since then, we've become very close friends.
23:57 And in fact, Miss Brenda wrote a book
23:59 called, Passionate Prayer.
24:01 And if you look in that book called, Passionate Prayer,
24:04 there's a chapter in there all about Sarah
24:06 and her chapter is called, "Sarah Makes a Wish"
24:10 and you will read all about Sarah's story.
24:12 It's an incredible story.
24:14 How God intervened in her life.
24:16 And also how one little girl because she loved Jesus
24:19 so much is still touching hearts and lives today.
24:23 Isn't that right, Sarah? Yeah.
24:25 And I'm so proud of you for what you're doing for Jesus.
24:27 I just want to thank you for that so much.
24:29 And also Sarah helps Miss Brenda a lot here.
24:33 Sarah's mom, Denise, right here
24:35 is my Sharing Time coordinator.
24:36 So, boys and girls, if you would like to come
24:38 and be on Sharing Time with me and tell me
24:40 what you do to share Jesus, Miss Denise will be able to
24:44 help you and arrange the time for you to come.
24:47 Go to our Kids' Time website kidstime4Jesus.org
24:50 and you can already see our taping schedule
24:52 for the next year and contact us and say
24:55 I'd like to be on Sharing Time.
24:56 And when you come, you'll not only see Denise,
24:59 but you will Sarah because Sarah is also
25:01 one of Miss Brenda's production assistants.
25:03 And she's the one who's gonna make sure
25:04 you get lot-- everything you need taken care of.
25:07 She's gonna bring in like water and
25:09 nice little snacks, and things to--
25:12 for our guests, and our guests love
25:15 being here and meeting Sarah.
25:16 And I tell you that Sharing Time is special
25:18 because you're on it, Sarah. I love you.
25:20 I love you very much.
25:21 Are you ready for Miss Brenda to read
25:22 some letters? Yeah.
25:24 See what we've got right here.
25:25 I think we have time for just a couple letters.
25:28 This one is from Roy, Utah and I've a picture.
25:32 Mom, can you mind holding that one up for me, please?
25:35 And this says, Dear Miss Brenda,
25:37 my name is Chailey, and I don't know if I'm
25:40 pronouncing that right, but it's C-H-A-I-L-E-Y.
25:44 It says, Learning Time is my favorite part
25:46 on Kids' Time and I live in Riverdale, Utah.
25:49 I watch Kids' Time every week with my grandma
25:53 and we give clothes away to the homeless.
25:55 And we-- and I have a dog named, Molly, and
25:58 he's like, Max, but she's a girl.
26:00 And it said, I would like to have the lessons please,
26:03 a Bible, and a Kids' Time t-shirt,
26:06 and I wish Kids' Time lasted longer
26:08 'cause I really like it. Love Chailey.
26:10 Well, Chailey, thank you so much and look at she even
26:13 drew me a little picture here.
26:15 Chailey you-- during nonSabbath hours,
26:17 you can purchase all those items you want
26:19 on our Kids' Time website.
26:21 So just go to kidstime4jesus.org,
26:24 and you can find all of them right there.
26:26 Well, thank you, Sarah, once again for being here
26:28 with Miss Brenda and for bringing your mom.
26:30 Boys and girls, that's all the time we have today.
26:32 I want to thank you so much for joining us each week.
26:35 I love spending this time with you.
26:37 And I want to encourage you and remind you that
26:40 wherever you go, whatever you do,
