00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time, we're gonna be late.
00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus
00:11 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:19 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time
00:32 Hi, boys and girls. In our Bible story today
00:34 we're going to meet a man who changed his mind.
00:38 Now that may not sound like a very exciting thing to you
00:41 but let me tell you for this man it was.
00:44 You see some people change their minds all the time
00:47 and we call that being wishy washy
00:50 and we're not surprised when these people change their minds
00:53 in fact we're kind of surprised when they don't.
00:55 But this man was not a wishy washy man,
00:58 in fact he was very smart and he was certainly--
01:01 was right about everything
01:02 and there was no change in his mind.
01:04 One other thing this man was certain about was that
01:07 anyone who believed in Jesus was crazy
01:10 and dangerous and should be killed.
01:12 Jesus followers knew exactly who he was and they were
01:15 afraid of him in fact they were so frightened that Christians
01:19 everywhere hid whenever this man came to town.
01:22 But one day this man who was certain about
01:26 everything, he changed his mind.
01:29 That's right he just changed his mind.
01:32 Now what could change the mind of a man like that, any ideas?
01:36 Well, we'll find out a little later on in the program
01:39 but right now let's get ready for Nature Time.
02:03 Man this is so awesome. Love this part of the world.
02:22 Hi, Kids welcome to Nature Time.
02:24 Man, is it quite out here this morning, this is awesome.
02:28 Now I'm at Campau Sable, Greenland, Michigan.
02:31 And this is really neat this is one of my favorite times
02:35 in the morning when it's quiet I love this, I love canoeing.
02:39 You know what I can hear a locust right now.
02:41 You can hear it in the trees maybe
02:43 if you're real quiet and you can hear it too.
02:45 You know we have a lot of fun in nature
02:48 but to me this is where we start, we can talk with God,
02:53 He can hear us all the time you know that.
02:56 You know, why that Mathew says it
02:57 "My sheep hear my voice" well, how it does?
03:00 God's sheep us, you and I hear his voice.
03:03 I'll tell you there's a story in First Kings chapter 19
03:08 that's one of my favorite stories that's about Elijah.
03:10 You know what Elijah had done such a great job,
03:13 You know, saying how long do you hop between two nations.
03:16 Remember that story when fire came down and burn
03:19 those altars up and water around it, remember that.
03:22 Well, guess what right after that he got
03:25 scared of Queen Jezebel, I can't believe it but he did,
03:27 she must have been something and so he took off
03:29 for like 40 days, he's running gets tired out
03:32 he started feeling sorry for himself
03:34 and so goes into this cave and he gets into this cave
03:37 and you know what, he is talking Lord O Lord,
03:40 there's nobody like me there is been nobody standing up for you
03:43 and the Lord said, hey Elijah, just do me a favor,
03:45 I want you to go out on the mouth of the cave.
03:47 So he does and as he goes out, a big fire comes around
03:51 and the Lord says, you know Elijah, I'm not in that fire.
03:54 And after fire he goes and then there is
03:57 this great big wind storm. He said, I'm not in the wind.
04:00 And then after the wind there is this earthquake
04:03 its loud it making plenty of noise and he said,
04:05 I'm not in that noise.
04:07 You know what he said then, he said, Elijah you need to learn
04:11 to listen to my still small voice because
04:13 I'm the delicate whispering voice.
04:15 And boys, in Isaiah 30:15 says,
04:17 the quietness should be our strength.
04:19 And so that's why we can do all sorts of things,
04:22 as I look out here in nature, we can do all kinds of fun
04:25 and this is where we can really have
04:26 that special moment with God.
04:28 And you know what right now, I'm gonna get back out there
04:31 and do that so, kids, nature is God
04:34 second book get out there take a look.
04:37 I'll see you later. Bye.
04:53 Wow this is so cool.
06:08 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
06:14 Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
06:19 Heir of salvation, purchase of God
06:25 Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
06:30 This is my story, this is my song
06:35 Praising my Savior all the day long
06:40 This is my story, this is my song
06:46 Praising my Savior all the day long
06:51 Praising my Savior
06:57 all the day long
07:20 Welcome to Learning Time. Glad you joined us today.
07:23 We've got an interesting science lesson and if you have
07:26 some of this stuff you can do it too at home.
07:29 But I've got some helpers, I've got three,
07:32 I've got Caleb over here now, Caleb, I understand that
07:35 you have earned some money in an interesting way.
07:37 Yes I have, there's a man in our church
07:40 I work on pianos with and I also mow lawns.
07:42 Hey, that's a great way of earning some extra money.
07:45 We have Cynthia over here now, Cynthia,
07:47 your name is a pretty name I like your name.
07:49 Do you know what it means?
07:50 Cynthia means cheerful.
07:52 Cheerful, and I think you are a cheerful person as well.
07:55 And we have Gabriel over here, now, Gabriel,
07:57 I understand that you like to snow ski, right?
07:59 Right. But something happened that was interesting,
08:01 you wanna tell us about that?
08:03 Well, I skied over a squirrel. A squirrel! How did that happen?
08:08 We were going down a pathway and it ran in front of me
08:11 and ran back and I just skied over it, it was fun though.
08:15 Well, good. Well, I think squirrels have
08:18 the ride away probably, don't they?
08:20 Hey, let's get all of our helpers up here.
08:22 Let's see what kind of equipment we have up here
08:24 to do our science experiment.
08:25 It looks like we have some interesting things
08:28 and actually some very common things
08:29 that you might have at home.
08:31 And we got a big, what is that here this thing on the top?
08:34 A Jug. A jug, it holds about, about four liters, okay.
08:38 And we have this big tank right here that is a--
08:41 Aquarium. Aquarium, how many of you have an aquarium at home?
08:43 Okay, and we have all kinds of stuff in our aquariums
08:46 sometimes but we're gonna use this as an instrument
08:49 to tell vital capacity in fact we're gonna try to measure
08:53 in a way how much their lungs can hold and so we actually
08:58 made a homemade Spirometer
09:00 which is kind of an interesting experiment.
09:02 So what we're gonna need to do as we're gonna have
09:04 to have you, and this is a little hose that we put in here
09:07 in this little bottle and so you want to start first,
09:11 I mean why not. Okay, so you can blow in on that,
09:14 firstly he's gonna take a big breath of air,
09:16 fill up his lungs and then he is going to blow out
09:19 a steady string and we're gonna see some bubbles right here.
09:21 Those bubbles are actually part of the air that's in his lungs
09:26 that he is breathing out and we'll try to measure
09:28 how much he can hold.
09:29 Okay, go ahead and do it whenever you are ready.
09:31 Here we go, watch the bubbles.
09:32 Well, look at that, and he--keep blowing,
09:35 keep blowing, keep blowing.
09:37 Wow, can you imagine that. O my, O wow,
09:42 he is going to fill that all up with just the air in his lungs.
09:46 Well, give him a nice hand, guys.
09:48 Wow, that's great, that's incredible.
09:52 Wow, now that's what we called vital capacity
09:55 or lung compacity, and you know what
09:57 we still have some water left in this,
09:59 so let's see what we can do, maybe we can get Cynthia.
10:01 We'll clean this off a little bit for you or a lot, okay.
10:05 We've got some alcohol right here so we're gonna
10:07 sterilize this and right here then I think I'll dry this off
10:10 because we don't like to taste
10:11 the rubbing alcohol, not a good idea.
10:13 Okay, Cynthia, you want to try that,
10:16 let's see if we can get some more of that air,
10:18 or some more of that water out of here.
10:20 She is gonna blow right into there and look at that
10:23 and its all out, wow, wow, okay, well,
10:25 that's power about enough now
10:27 we over flowed our fish tank, didn't we?
10:29 Wow, give Cynthia a hand for doing that.
10:32 Well, I don't know what you know Gabriel is there
10:35 any water left to displace with air?
10:38 No. Isn't that interesting?
10:40 But you know I didn't know how much vital capacity
10:43 they would have, I didn't know how much capacity
10:45 they would have in their lungs.
10:46 You know, that's very interesting because isn't that,
10:50 you know, we talked about vital capacity
10:52 and that's kind of like, like our energy.
10:54 You know, only you and I we only have a certain
10:57 amount of energy, did you know that?
10:59 Have you ever run out of energy,
11:00 how many of you ever run out of energy?
11:02 Okay, everybody has their hands up except for Maxwell.
11:05 Maxwell he hasn't, he just hasn't,
11:07 he hasn't even raised his hand, has he?
11:09 He never runs out of energy because he's always storing it,
11:12 look he just storing all that energy.
11:14 But you know our vital capacity,
11:16 our lung capacity is very important. You know why?
11:18 So we can breath. So we can breath
11:21 and we can have the energy and then that exchange of oxygen
11:23 in the air which is very important.
11:25 But you know we can waste our energy.
11:27 Do you wanna waste your energy?
11:29 No. And I don't wanna waste my vital energy either
11:34 but you know a lot of people do.
11:35 And they just waste their energy trying to get money
11:38 and they're working too hard and everything else.
11:40 But you know God doesn't want you and I to waste
11:43 our vital energy and we cannot waste our energy,
11:47 if we just know what God want you and I to do.
11:49 Because if we're doing what He wants us to do
11:51 then we're gonna be spending our energy doing His what?
11:54 His service right. Yes. Absolutely.
11:57 And, you know, every time we learn more about science
12:00 we're learning more about our creator God.
12:19 Saul, you bring me a report.
12:22 High priest Caiaphas, I bring you a report today
12:26 of the followers of this man, this teacher they call Jesus.
12:32 The one who sets himself up as a God,
12:36 the one who blasphemes our holy tradition of the God of Abraham,
12:42 His followers are everywhere.
12:45 You have ordered me to follow them,
12:47 to track them down and to cause them pain.
12:51 Caiaphas, I have done as you have asked,
12:55 we have taken these believers out of their homes,
12:58 we have taken their possessions,
13:00 we have caused them great pain,
13:03 we have even put some in prison
13:06 yet they continue to meet and to gather together,
13:10 to follow the teachings of this heretic Jesus.
13:15 Guard, is this true? Yes.
13:18 And I hear that they are on their way
13:19 to the Damascus and we must do something now.
13:22 That is the truth, they are fleeing Jerusalem
13:25 and moving to Damascus.
13:27 Caiaphas, I ask your permission would you grant me
13:33 a letter of authority that I might follow them
13:36 and continue to persecute them that we might
13:39 bring this rebellion to an end.
13:42 Guard, hand me the letter.
13:46 High priest, Caiaphas.
13:47 Saul, I prepared a letter for the high priest
13:51 in Damascus for you.
13:52 You are a wise and powerful leader.
13:56 We have crucified this Jesus,
13:59 we will also destroy His followers.
14:03 May the God of Israel go with you. Yes.
14:10 Look over there the city of Damascus.
14:16 Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me.
14:20 Who are thou? Lord, is it you?
14:27 I am Jesus the one you are persecuting.
14:32 Oh, what would you have me to do?
14:36 Arise and go to the city and you will be told what you must do.
14:41 But I, I cannot see, my eyes are blinded.
14:45 I don't know what to do, I'll need help, I need help.
14:49 I know a place in the city of Damascus the house of Judas.
14:51 Take me there now.
14:54 Oh, oh, oh, I am so glad to see you.
14:57 I have heard that Saul of Tarsus is right here in Damascus.
15:03 It's true, he is at Judas house right now.
15:06 Really, what is he doing?
15:07 He seems harmless enough, he's blind.
15:10 All he's been doing is praying for the past three days,
15:13 he hasn't even eaten,
15:14 I'm hoping he'll eat some of this fresh bread.
15:16 Oh, no. Does any Ananias know?
15:19 I don't know, but I have to go,
15:22 I have to go see if he'll eat some of this.
15:24 Be careful. I'll see you later.
15:25 Okay, okay.
15:38 Ananias. Lord, here I am.
15:43 Arise, and go to the street called straight
15:46 and inquire of the house of Judas
15:48 of one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold he is praying
15:52 and in a vision he has seen you coming in
15:55 and putting your hand on him
15:56 so that he might receive his sight.
16:00 Lord, I've heard about this Saul
16:02 I've heard that he is hurting your people in Jerusalem,
16:06 he is persecuting them,
16:08 he even has authority to put them in prison.
16:10 Go this man is my chosen instrument
16:13 to carry my name before the gentiles
16:15 and the kings and before the people of Israel.
16:19 I will show you how much he must suffer for my name.
16:23 Yes, Lord, I'll go right away.
16:34 Saul. What, what who is it?
16:37 I'm a servant, Judas has sent some food for you.
16:40 Food, I don't want any food.
16:43 Please eat, you haven't eaten anything in three days.
16:45 No, nothing to eat.
16:47 At least drink something have some water.
16:49 No, I don't want anything to eat,
16:51 I don't want anything to drink.
16:53 Go away and leave me alone.
16:57 All right. Be gone.
16:59 My soul is troubled.
17:02 Oh, great God, oh great,
17:06 great God in the heaven hear my prayers,
17:10 hear my prayers forgive me, forgive me God,
17:15 forgive me for the persecution of your people, forgive me.
17:22 Brother, Saul. What, who is it?
17:25 Brother, Saul, Ananias.
17:28 Are you the one, the Lord has sent.
17:30 Yes, the Lord spoke to me, He told me to come to you,
17:35 He told me to heal you of your blindness. Praise God.
17:41 In the name of Jesus heal Brother Saul.
17:49 The scales are gone. Yes.
17:52 I can see, praise God.
17:57 Brother Saul, you've been forgiven.
18:00 Jesus loves you and He wants to use you
18:05 to tell others of His love.
18:07 God can forgive me, I am so blessed,
18:12 I want to be baptized,
18:13 I want to be a follower of Jesus the Son of God. Praise God.
18:20 Let's go, let's tell the others the good news.
18:22 Let's show them, thank you for coming. Yes.
18:44 I have a Maker He formed my heart
18:54 Before even time began My life was in His hands
19:04 He knows my name He knows my every thought
19:13 He sees each tear that falls And He hears me when I call
19:23 I have a Father He calls me His own
19:32 He'll never leave me No matter where I go
19:41 He knows my name He knows my every thought
19:50 He sees each tear that falls And He hears me when I call
19:59 He hears me when I call
20:04 He hears me when I call
20:26 Such a good baby, oh, yes Maxwell such a sweet.
20:31 Oh, hi, boys and girls.
20:33 Maxwell and I were just having a little chat
20:34 about how excited he was to be here on Kids' Time,
20:37 isn't that right Max?
20:38 Let' see if you can stay awake through the whole program.
20:41 Do you think he can?
20:42 I don't know I think he's already thinking about it.
20:45 But right now its time for Miss Brenda's book of the day
20:50 and today's book is called
20:52 Guide's Greatest Mission stories.
20:54 Boys and girls, you're gonna love this.
20:56 It was written by a very good friend of mine
20:58 Lori Peckham and she writes with such exciting style
21:01 you're gonna love all of these wonderful stories
21:03 and look on the cover this looks exciting already.
21:06 Can you see this,
21:07 it's got a great big crocodile or alligator, one of them
21:11 and its getting ready to eat that girl
21:13 in the canoe, isn't it.
21:14 Wooh, you gonna have to read the book.
21:16 Well, I'm excited today boys and girls
21:18 to--I'm going to read some of the letters
21:20 that you've been sending me
21:21 and I love getting all your letter,
21:23 I love getting the pictures too.
21:25 The first letter I'm gonna share with you,
21:26 Maxwell is paying attention too.
21:28 Hey, Max, are you paying attention?
21:30 Hey, buddy hey, I think
21:32 he wants to see this letter too doesn't he,
21:34 hey, come on.
21:35 all right, let's see here.
21:37 All you're gonna want to see this
21:40 I've got a picture gonna show you who it is first,
21:43 see this look at that and there he is with some sheep
21:47 it looks like and then we also have something else inside
21:52 and oh, look at this we've got some Australian money
21:57 so this letter must be from Australia
21:59 let's read it all about it, okay.
22:01 And a nice horse picture too, good artist, thank you.
22:04 It says, dear Miss Brenda--
22:06 here is 20 dollars for your birthday,
22:10 we want you to use it to Kids' Time
22:11 to help all the Kids' Time kids know about Jesus.
22:14 Love Jayden and Dad.
22:16 Oh, thank you so much, Jayden,
22:18 you've been writing to Miss Brenda
22:19 for a long time now.
22:21 I love getting your letters
22:23 and thank you for the birthday money.
22:24 Boys and girls, this kind of birthday gift is wonderful
22:27 because it goes to help other boys and girls
22:29 learn more about Jesus.
22:30 So I appreciate that, thank you so much.
22:33 Let's see we have another--
22:34 let me maybe read an email for you.
22:37 This one is from Trinidad and Tobago says
22:41 he is 13 years old and its from Giselle.
22:44 Says, dear Miss Brenda, how are you?
22:46 I'm doing well I'm 13 years old

22:52 I share Jesus by telling people in our village about Jesus.
22:55 One day I was with our neighbor in our pool
22:57 and her little brother started to drown,
22:59 so I went to his rescue.
23:01 Miss Brenda, I will never forget that day.
23:04 It felt so good to know
23:05 that I helped save someone else's life.
23:07 I love Jesus very much, could you please tell, Joshua Lance
23:11 that I love his singing.
23:12 Said, thanks and I love to watch Kids' Time

24:19 And the lessons are free too.
24:20 All right, this is a kind of a bulky envelope
24:23 let's see what's in this one.
24:26 Says, dear Miss Brenda,
24:28 I hope you will read my email on Kids' Time.
24:30 Well, I'm doing it.
24:31 Says, I am Rosy from the country of Belize

24:41 And, Rosy, let's see what you put in here
24:43 and look what Rosy sent me.
24:46 Let me open this bag to show you
24:48 and look what she did here isn't that beautiful,
24:52 boys and girls?
24:53 See that and that's her hair,
24:55 its beautiful good conditioned just like locks of love.
24:59 Also, boys and girls, you don't need to send it to me
25:01 you can send it directly to locks of love.
25:03 You can Google it on the internet
25:05 and find the address and send it right there, okay.
25:07 But I'll happy to send this for you, Rosy.
25:09 And thank you for,
25:10 that is the wonderful way to share Jesus.
25:12 And I'm sure you probably saw Hannah on Kids' Time
25:15 donate her hair so thank you for that.
25:18 I have another email for you--
25:20 oops Maxwell didn't even wake up look at that.
25:23 This one is from the Czech Republic.
25:26 It says, dear Miss Brenda, I'm doing fine,
25:29 please pray for my grand parents.
25:31 They don't believe in God.
25:33 When I say something about God they get really mad.
25:36 I went to school were they speak God's name in vain
25:38 and one girl there wanted a Bible
25:40 but her parents didn't let her have one.
25:42 How much does the Kids' Time Bible cost anyway?
25:45 Well, its getting late so I better say goodbye.
25:48 Here's a picture of me and also my phone number
25:51 could you call me sometime, Monika.
25:53 Well hi, Monika, let me show your picture,
25:55 it's a computerized picture print off
25:57 so that you can kind of see it a little bit here.
26:01 And, Monika, your Bible is absolutely free.
26:04 All you have to do is finish the Kids Club lessons
26:06 and I'll send you a Bible,
26:07 absolutely free isn't that wonderful?
26:08 And you can tell your friend that too,
26:10 it won't cost a thing.
26:12 All right, let's see I think I have time
26:13 for maybe one more and it says,
26:17 this is from Anders and its from Minnesota
26:21 and--oh, look at this, boys and girls,
26:23 I'm gonna just hold this up so that you can see right now
26:26 and then it says,
26:28 why won't Jesus make the earth good right now?
26:31 And it says, I love Experiment Time.
26:33 And Love Anders. Isn't that precious?
26:36 And you know, Anders, God is--
26:38 Jesus is gonna make the earth new very soon
26:41 because I believe Jesus is coming soon
26:43 and we need to tell everyone, we need to be working for Jesus,
26:46 sharing Him wherever we go so Jesus can come back soon
26:49 'cause I am anxious to go heaven,
26:50 aren't you, boys and girls?
26:52 Well, that's all the time we have today.
26:54 I'm so glad you joined us.
26:55 Max, can you wake up to say goodbye.
26:57 Remember its Kids' Time to share Jesus.
