00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:02 We're gonna be late.
00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus
00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time.
00:31 Hi, boys and girls,
00:33 did you sleep well last night?
00:34 I sure did, and I need it too.
00:36 It's hard to face the day
00:38 when you haven't had a good night sleep.
00:40 And In fact not getting enough sleep
00:42 can make you feel really, really grumpy,
00:44 have you ever noticed that?
00:46 That's why moms and dads show their love
00:48 by sending you to bed on time,
00:50 sometimes though it's kind a hard to sleep, isn't it?
00:53 I've gotten up some morning and felt like
00:55 I hardly slept at all,
00:56 maybe I spent the night thinking about all the things
00:59 I needed to get done, or maybe I had a dream
01:02 that left me feeling kind of scared and upset,
01:04 that's what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar,
01:06 a long time ago.
01:08 He went to bed one night
01:09 and all he wanted was a good night sleep,
01:11 but instead he had a very bad dream
01:14 and guess what he did, that's right he woke up grumpy
01:18 and what really made him grumpy was the fact
01:20 that he couldn't even remember what his dream was about.
01:23 Somehow though he knew his dream was important
01:26 and he just have to find out what it meant.
01:28 So, he called all the wise men together in his Kingdom
01:31 and he said, I have a dream that troubles me,
01:33 I want to know what it means.
01:35 Now, who do you think knew
01:37 what the king's dream really meant?
01:39 Well, I give you a hint, it wasn't Daniel.
01:43 We'll find out who really knew the interpretation
01:45 of the King's dream in our Bible Story today.
01:48 But, first let see what ranger Dwight
01:50 is going to show us today on Nature time.
02:01 Hi Kids, welcome to Nature Time.
02:03 We've got something exciting for you today.
02:06 We're going to take this backhoe right here,
02:08 it's big I used to have a backhoe and worked years on,
02:11 they have lot of power and -- we're gonna take out this tree.
02:15 What kind of chains you are trying, Dwight.
02:17 Well, you know what, lets look at this right here, I'm gonna,
02:19 I'm gonna give you little nature lesson.
02:21 Okay, you see that leaf right there, that's an oak tree
02:25 right there, you can tell an oak tree because I don't care
02:28 if you are in England, Australia and oak is an oak,
02:31 that does look kind of funny?
02:33 That's an oak tree, see that corner. Yeah.
02:36 So, this is an oak tree, now, it's a small one.
02:38 But you know what, if we didn't have this backhoe
02:40 and you want to take this with your shovel and trying
02:42 to get out you might be two or three hours
02:44 on this little bit tree.
02:46 It's got a tremendous root system.
02:48 So, Larry get that thing fired up
02:51 and let's take this thing out.
02:52 Okay, Ranger Dwight, here we go.
02:55 This is gonna be cool you got to see these roots.
02:59 Now, see kids this over, let's get over here, okay.
03:04 He is good, but we don't want him to hit us.
03:09 Isn't that big, look at that bucket.
03:13 I could take out anything.
03:19 He's been very careful and I am so glad about that.
03:24 Bring it back, that's good.
03:38 I'm gonna get right here, see if I can hang on to this little bit
03:42 see how that's going in, oh,
03:43 I feel the roots, break, wow.
03:48 I am ready you got it, hold right out,
03:52 I feel those roots kids.
03:54 Okay now, look it I'm gonna grab this,
03:57 see I can do once we get it off.
03:59 Now, see those roots, isn't that cool?
04:02 Okay, Larry, take it away.
04:07 Now, that made it look easy, didn't it?
04:10 Shareene, Kon, I want to show you something,
04:12 a great nature lesson, now look it.
04:14 These roots here have broken,
04:17 you can see this right here, see that right there.
04:19 Yes. They're broken but, you can see the roots down
04:22 here which you kids can't see in as well but,
04:24 I am sure we'll get a great shot now.
04:27 This little tree has have a great root system,
04:31 if it doesn't a little wind comes up
04:33 it just blows right over, kids.
04:35 And I've got a great object lesson, you know,
04:38 remember King David in the Bible? Yeah.
04:40 Okay now, King David started out as a what,
04:43 you know, what was he?
04:45 A shepherd. He was a shepherd.
04:47 Now, you know his brothers in the big war,
04:49 you remember with Goliath.
04:50 Okay, and he went over to his brothers,
04:52 he'd been herding those sheep and he went to his brothers
04:55 and the brothers said, what are you doing here.
04:58 And he so I'm giving you some lunch, he brought some food,
05:00 because he said you need to slay this giant.
05:02 But, here's the deal, David had been herding those sheep,
05:06 he had been putting his roots in the ground,
05:09 deeper and deeper as a young person, he'd been putting
05:12 it in the ground and when the giant came he was ready,
05:15 where many, the whole arm wasn't ready, just guess what,
05:18 there roots were not deep in Jesus Christ,
05:21 and that's what we need, good roots, don't we? Yeah.
05:24 Okay now, I'm gonna grab this little spruce right here, okay.
05:28 Now, this is prickly kids, this spruce, I'm gonna grab it,
05:31 we're gonna transit but we want to keep the woods, don't we?
05:34 So, that had a diseased, but this doesn't.
05:36 Now look at, you can see this, see all this roots.
05:39 This little tree, look a the root system this has,
05:42 okay now, we're gonna transit, you're ready, want to help,
05:45 okay get that shovel, okay go ahead
05:48 and put some dirt around if you can,
05:50 can you, get right over here Shareene, okay.
05:52 You can get your hands to it if you want to,
05:54 Kon, you get off a little bit, okay, isn't this cool?
05:58 This tree is gonna grow, its already got
06:00 a great root system.
06:01 I'll help you here, all right.
06:04 This will be like little King David right here.
06:06 He might be small, but one day he's gonna be --
06:08 way bigger than all of this, with the great root system,
06:11 huh you like that.
06:13 So listen I want you kids, always remember
06:16 that even though you're small,
06:18 if you do things everyday faithful,
06:20 hey, when mom tells you clean your rooms,
06:22 sometimes you don't like that, but you'll be faithful
06:25 just clean your rooms when you grow up,
06:27 you do great big things, just like King David, okay.
06:31 Okay. You got that? Yeah.
06:33 Okay, kids, nature's got second book, don't forget
06:36 kid out there take a look.
06:38 Okay, let's get this, let's get a rest a fill up.
06:42 I can't wait to see this grow when I come back,
06:45 this is great.
06:56 When we see all the good things around us,
06:58 we can be thankful and remember who made them.
07:01 James says in Chapter 1, verse 17,
07:05 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
07:08 and comes down from the Father of lights,
07:11 with whom there is no radiation, or shadow of turning.
07:16 Think of a world without any flowers
07:20 Think of a wood without any trees
07:23 Think of a sky without any sunshine
07:27 Think of the air without any breeze
07:31 We thank you, Lord, for flowers and trees and sunshine
07:35 We thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name
07:42 Think of a world without any animals
07:45 Think of a field without any herd
07:49 Think of a stream without any fishes
07:53 Think of a dawn without any bird
07:57 We thank you, Lord, for all your living creatures
08:01 We thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name
08:07 Think of a world without any people
08:11 Think of a street with no-one living there
08:15 Think of a town without any houses,
08:19 No-one to love and nobody to care
08:22 We thank you, Lord, for families and friendships
08:26 We thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name.
08:49 Welcome to Learning Time.
08:50 Say you might want to get a piece of paper,
08:53 because we're gonna show you
08:54 what some interesting things you can do with a paper.
08:57 And, you know, it looks like we got a bunch of helpers
08:59 today and you know, Karleen I want you to help me
09:03 today but, you know I was wondering
09:04 do you have a favorite animal?
09:06 A cat. A cat, how many cats you have at home?
09:09 Four. Four, I only have three,
09:11 that must be an interesting house with four cats.
09:14 Now, let see, Courtney. Courtney I understand
09:18 you like favorite sport, what is your favorite sport?
09:21 Softball. A softball, and what positions do you like to play?
09:26 Second and everything else.
09:29 Now, that's an interesting game
09:30 and I like to play softball too.
09:32 Then we have Jordon over here now, Jordon
09:34 how do you like to share Jesus?
09:38 I preach and I preach several sermons at camp meeting
09:41 and I what, write some sermons down.
09:44 Hey, that's great and I've heard that you have preached,
09:46 that's a wonderful way to share Jesus.
09:48 Let me get all three of our helpers to come on over
09:51 here right here and if you got some paper
09:53 you might get some paper.
09:54 You know, we got Maxwell, down here, you know what,
09:56 I bet your Maxwell, probably has some paper, you think?
09:59 Yeah. Well, well, maybe he gets the paper everyday
10:04 and brings it in the house that would be a good thing.
10:06 Why don't you come right around here, Karleen,
10:08 and then see what we got.
10:09 We got three pieces of paper right here,
10:10 here you can have a blue one,
10:11 and this looks like red, orange, what's that?
10:14 This is purple. Oh, it's purple, well,
10:15 I am a little color blind, you have to forgive me.
10:18 Jordon here's one for you.
10:19 We can do little experiment with paper,
10:21 is paper strong guys? No. No, it's not strong
10:25 at all and we can make lots of stuff with paper.
10:28 So, lets see Jordon why don't you put your paper over here,
10:30 can you put it on top there,
10:31 kind of make a little paper bridge.
10:33 Now, have you ever crossed bridge made out a paper?
10:36 No. No, I don't know if they would hold me up or not.
10:39 But we're gonna find out if this paper is strong enough
10:42 to hold this little bottle up,
10:43 do you think it's strong enough?
10:45 No. Well, I guess. No, okay so, tell you what, here,
10:48 Jordon I want to give you too, why don't you put right
10:51 in the middle and less we'll wait,
10:52 because we're going to give him a countdown here.
10:53 We're going to give him a countdown Jordon
10:55 is gonna place it there very carefully right,
10:57 you see if it will hold it. Here we go, countdown.
10:59 Three, two, one. Put it right there.
11:03 Wow, that it work? No. No, okay-- Oh, it's great.
11:06 Okay, we'll try another one over here, let's see what we got.
11:09 Here, how about two, why don't you, can you put two on,
11:11 you can put yours down, Karleen and Courtney,
11:13 why don't you put yours on top, should it be stronger now?
11:15 Yeah. Oh yeah, twice as strong maybe, are you ready, Jordon?
11:19 Yeah. Okay, get ready countdown, lets go, three,
11:22 two, one and. No, it didn't work, did it. No.
11:26 It didn't work, but you know that's --
11:29 rather interesting I think.
11:31 So, I tell what, you know what, I have another piece of paper
11:33 it's just like that purple, did you call it purple?
11:36 Okay, this is a purple piece of paper and taken
11:39 this little piece of paper the same size, I wonder I do to it?
11:43 Folding it. I put -- a bunch of wrinkles into it,
11:46 I put a bunch of folds into it like a little fan,
11:49 well, that feels real good right now, does it.
11:52 What I can do. Now, Jordon, this what I'm gonna do,
11:54 I'm gonna put this right here just like that --
11:56 and very carefully I want you to put the bottle there,
11:59 lets give Jordon a countdown, lets go, three, two, one.
12:04 This is stronger. Very carefully. Well, it does work.
12:06 Yeah. Wow, Venus is great, hey, you know what,
12:11 hey let's try something super interesting.
12:14 Now, I need my helpers move back a little bit
12:16 and I'm gonna get Angel Rivera to come up
12:19 and I need Marie Sol, if she could come up to.
12:21 Hey, do you think that paper could hold Mary Sol up?
12:25 No. I've got a roll of paper, this paper is just like this
12:29 right here and it's not very strong, is it?
12:32 No. No, it's not very strong, lets see what we can do.
12:36 We're gonna go ahead and move this over here a little bit,
12:38 okay, and lets see, move away little bit,
12:41 because we're gonna put her right on it,
12:42 do you think it will hold her? No.
12:44 Okay, let's go countdown, three, two, one.
12:48 It's gonna work. Does it gonna work?
12:50 No, it wasn't strong enough, so I tell you what,
12:54 we won't use that -- right here, Max, Max
12:57 can play with that little bit later, but you know what,
12:59 instead of one we're gonna use what?
13:02 Three. Four of them, hey, let's try it again.
13:04 How about a countdown, three, two, one and did it work?
13:11 Yeah. Oh, give her a hand, that is so cool,
13:14 you know that -- reminds me, you know what
13:17 you and I are kind of like this old piece of paper,
13:19 if we're all flat we're not very strong, but we're useful.
13:23 But, you know sometimes
13:24 God put wrinkles in our life, doesn't he?
13:27 Yeah. And those wrinkles can represent things
13:29 that kind of go bad and trials and things
13:32 that test our faith.
13:33 But that makes us stronger, because this paper
13:36 is a lot stronger when we folded up, isn't that cool?
13:39 Yeah. You know, every time we learn more about science,
13:44 we learn more about our Creator, God.
14:03 My lord, King Nebuchadnezzar,
14:05 you look troubled, what is wrong?
14:07 I am very troubled, my queen.
14:09 My most trusted men, wise men, astrologists,
14:14 magicians, sorcerers, useless all of them.
14:16 All I ask them to do is to tell me a simple dream
14:20 I've been repeatedly having.
14:21 Oh. I ordered them all executed.
14:24 I don't blame you, I never trusted any of them anyway,
14:28 except for Daniel and his three friends.
14:32 You had them brought from Jerusalem,
14:34 there was always something different about them.
14:37 Well, you yourself said that they were ten times
14:40 smarter than any of your wise men or magicians.
14:44 Indeed I did.
14:47 Oh, King Nebuchadnezzar, live forever,
14:50 the Hebrew captain Daniel request permission to enter.
14:53 So, granted. You may enter.
15:00 You may rise. Oh, king live forever.
15:05 I've come to tell you that you are right.
15:09 There is no man alive who can tell you what you dreamed,
15:12 or what its interpretation is.
15:14 But there is a God in heaven Jehovah the dream giver,
15:20 He knows your dream and He knows the interpretation.
15:24 So, king I have come to beg for mercy and for time,
15:29 so that I may go to my God to seek Him and ask Him
15:33 to tell me your dream and it's interpretation.
15:37 So, that you, oh King may find peace.
15:42 I give you a short time. Thank you.
15:47 Daniel. Yes. A short time.
15:56 Oh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
16:00 God of all dreams and revealer of mysteries.
16:03 Lord I've been praying all day long and I'm kind of scared.
16:08 I need you to please help me give me the dream of the king,
16:12 tell me what it means.
16:14 Lord, you know, that our lives are at stake,
16:18 and what's even more important is Your reputation.
16:23 I believe in you, I know that -- You can do anything
16:27 and I know that if it's Your will,
16:28 You can give me the answer in the dream, I trust You, amen.
17:21 God, oh, oh, oh.
17:25 Thank you, oh, thank you, thank you,
17:29 oh, God of my fathers, revealer of all dreams and mysteries,
17:34 thank you for answering my prayer.
17:37 Lord, you setup kingdoms and You take down kings,
17:41 You show us mysteries,
17:43 You know what it is in the darkness
17:45 and you have answered my prayer,
17:47 you have shown me the king's dream,
17:49 I even know the interpretation of it, thank you so much.
17:54 Not Nebuchadnezzar, we know, that you are the one true God.
18:11 Mathew 28 in 19 and 20.
18:13 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them
18:16 in the name of the Father, of the Son, of the Holy Ghost.
18:21 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
18:24 I have commanded you, and, lo, I am with you always,
18:28 even unto the end of the world.
18:32 I've got a mansion sitting on a hill
18:36 Imaged it in heaven
18:37 That's a preacher bill
18:39 He's one who dwells me how to break it down
18:42 He said, we're brand new
18:44 He told me what to do
18:46 So I made a phone call
18:48 Had up with God
18:49 I said I really like Him, if he was gone
18:52 He took the rag goods and said it would be fine
18:56 As he is the man Jesus has really made a man
18:59 So I've got a mansion sitting on a hill
19:03 Imaged it in heaven
19:05 That's a preacher bill
19:06 We'll be neighbors throughout eternity
19:09 Preacher bill Jesus is in me
19:13 Having fun throughout eternity
19:17 Singing songs through holy harmony
19:20 Preacher bill Jesus is in me
19:37 Hi, boys and girls it's time for Ms. Brenda's book of the day.
19:42 And today's book is called Broken Stick,
19:44 it's by Eileen E. Lantry.
19:46 And its mission stories to the forbidden islands.
19:50 Norman Ferris stood his ground
19:51 as a group of 40 or 50 Bellonese warriors
19:54 held their spears high and thundered
19:56 across the scared beach toward him.
19:58 What was going to happen?
19:59 I'm not going to tell you, but you are gonna
20:01 want to read this book, there's lots and lots of awesome stories
20:05 mission stories in this book called Broken Stick.
20:09 Well, boys and girls I'd like to introduce
20:11 you to some wonderful friends of Ms. Brenda's
20:13 that I am so excited they could be with me today.
20:15 I want you to meet, I want you meet, Taylor,
20:19 and Sydney, and Ethan. Hi, guys how are you doing?
20:23 Good. How are you?
20:24 I am so glad you came here to be with me on Kids Time
20:27 and I know something about your ministry
20:30 that is really near and dear to my heart,
20:32 because I first want to talk about your ministry to Africa.
20:37 Did you guys like Africa?
20:39 Yeah, it was really fun and it was a really good experience
20:43 to teach some about Jesus and they really enjoyed it.
20:46 That is nothing like being on a mission trip, is there?
20:48 Ms. Brenda has been to Africa several times
20:50 and I can tell you that, you know, I went over there --
20:52 to give someone a blessing and ask God
20:54 to make me be a blessing and I came back
20:56 with the -- bigger blessing.
20:57 And so, I want to tell you first on,
21:00 Taylor lets talk to you, I see that you,
21:02 first of all you went over as a family, didn't you?
21:05 Yes. So, your mom and dad went with you.
21:06 And what exactly did you do on the mission trip?
21:09 Well, we went to Tanzania, Africa and we did a VBS series
21:14 which is stands for Vacation Bible School
21:17 and it's a whole week where the kids can learn,
21:19 come and learn games and read the stories and sing songs,
21:24 and do crafts and some of the crafts we did,
21:27 were these dolls and they're really easy to make.
21:30 Oh, let see those, oh how cute, look at that boys and girls.
21:34 It's just-- You got a boy doll and the girl doll,
21:37 looks like a mommy doll over there, aren't those nice?
21:40 And they actually made this?
21:41 And you, you would teach them how to make them?
21:43 Yeah, they love making them.
21:46 Oh, and how long does it take to make something like that?
21:49 It takes, they're pretty simple,
21:51 so it takes five to ten minutes, so.
21:54 Five to ten minutes to make a doll like that, wow,
21:56 I bet you made lots of dolls though, didn't you?
21:59 And you also have, now you said you sang songs with them
22:02 and I see that you sister Sydney has a puppet
22:07 in her lap and you have a puppet,
22:10 what did you do with those puppets?
22:11 We did, we sang songs with this and they really
22:14 came more people came.
22:16 Later on we use these for different series
22:19 and they all sang with them and some of songs
22:23 we did was Jesus love is a bubbling over.
22:25 Would you mind singing that with me,
22:27 you think can you jump in there and sing too
22:29 even though you don't a puppet, lets see that's hear that.
22:32 Jesus' love is bubbling over
22:36 Jesus' love is bubbling over
22:39 Jesus love is bubbling over Hallelujah
22:45 Oh, and I imagine those kids just loved it.
22:49 Yeah, they had never seen puppets before
22:51 and we made a coloring or another craft,
22:54 they had never seen a tram before.
22:56 Some people don't know how lucky
22:58 they are to see trams, or half trams.
23:00 The things that we take for granted is,
23:02 is like a big prize over there, isn't it?
23:06 Now, you brought some picture, let's see
23:08 what pictures you brought, lets hold them on,
23:10 hold one up to, so there boys and girls can see,
23:13 all right this picture, it looks like you're giving something,
23:17 are you giving him a drink or what are you giving him?
23:19 Oh, we're doing, this is very--
23:21 To show that we're still like this, just that's it, okay.
23:25 And we are, they taught us a hand game with your hands,
23:29 that's one of the game they love to play--
23:31 And they taught us as well.
23:33 Let's see your other picture that you have.
23:35 This one is we gave out food and clothing
23:38 and we also like and this is a picture
23:41 of me giving a boy some shoes.
23:43 Oh, I'm sure he appreciated that, and now,
23:46 Sydney you have some pictures,
23:48 what did you have pictures of, let's see.
23:52 Looks like, there's a picture of you
23:53 with the lots of boys and girls.
23:55 This is me with Taylor, and these are the children
23:59 that were in a Vacation Bible School.
24:00 Oh, and they look pretty happy to me and I think Ethan
24:05 though you have some pictures too,
24:07 let see what do you have.
24:09 You took over some of your own cloths, didn't you?
24:11 And you gave them away, can you hold it up like this for me,
24:14 just like that so they can see in that one little boy
24:17 that blue shirt what that your shirt you gave him?
24:20 Yes. What did he say when you gave him that shirt?
24:25 I don't know. Was he pretty excited? Yeah.
24:27 Let see your other picture that you have.
24:31 Oh, it looks like you made a friend over there, huh?
24:34 That's a really nice picture.
24:36 Tell me, Ethan, what was your favorite thing
24:39 about sharing Jesus in Africa?
24:42 Because I like to give out the clothing and food.
24:47 You like that the best?
24:50 Now, now, I know, Sydney you enjoyed going to Africa
24:54 as well and you have lots of friends over there
24:56 and having been in VBS.
24:59 But, you also have a ministry
25:01 that you do here in United States,
25:03 tell me about that?
25:04 I see some really pretty one,
25:06 let me hand one of those to you.
25:08 What if do I have my hand here, this looks really cool.
25:13 These are flower baskets that we make we get a cup,
25:15 and we put stickers with Bible verses on them
25:18 and we get holes, we put holes in it
25:21 and we put this strings through it for a handle.
25:25 And we go to people's houses and we give this to them
25:31 and if they're not home we hang them on the door alarm,
25:34 and one of the families that was there,
25:37 they had just moved in and they really appreciated
25:39 the flower baskets and we became friends
25:42 and we taught them more about Jesus.
25:44 Oh, that's wonder and did you have real dirt
25:47 in here don't you with the real flower,
25:49 isn't that beautiful boys and girls?
25:51 And what a wonderful idea just to hang it
25:53 on the door and you could easily just knock
25:56 on the door and say, I just want you to know Jesus loves you.
25:58 Wouldn't that be an awesome way to share Jesus?
26:01 Boys and girls that's -- something you could do as well.
26:03 So, let me ask you overall, what do you think
26:06 is there your most favorite thing to do to share Jesus?
26:11 I like going to Africa and telling them about Jesus.
26:16 You say you like the mission trips to Africa.
26:18 And what about you, Sydney?
26:21 I think I'll like to go to Africa too.
26:23 And I had a feeling Ethan
26:24 you're gonna tell me the same thing, right? Yes.
26:28 Well, I have to agree, I had fun going to Africa too and --
26:31 wouldn't it be wonderful we get to heaven
26:33 and we'll all speak the same language,
26:35 I can't wait for that day.
26:36 But, thank you kids for being here with me today.
26:39 That's all the time we have.
26:41 But, boys and girls I want to remind
26:42 you that it's kids time to share Jesus.
26:46 Kids time, kids time, Kids time.
