00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're gonna be late. 00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time. 00:32 Hi, boys and girls. I'm so excited 00:34 you are here with me today. 00:35 I really enjoy the time we spend together, 00:37 and I hope you do too. 00:39 I can't wait to get to heaven now, 00:41 because when we get to heaven, 00:42 we're gonna have so much fun not only meeting each other, 00:45 but spending time together. 00:47 We'll also spend time with our best friend Jesus. 00:49 And one of the things that makes Jesus so wonderful 00:52 and so awesome is that He knows everything. 00:56 That's right, He knows everything. 00:58 God not only knows everything 01:00 but He has always known everything. 01:02 Isn't that awesome? Nothing ever surprises Him. 01:05 I love that about God, don't you? 01:07 That means that when we pray we can ask Him any question 01:10 and He's always going to know the answer. 01:12 Of course, sometimes He doesn't answer all my questions. 01:15 He just says, trust me, I'll take care of things. 01:19 Many years ago, King Nebuchadnezzar 01:21 had a very big question on his mind. 01:23 And he asked all the wisest men in his kingdom, 01:25 the smartest people he knew, to answer it, 01:28 but they couldn't because they were just, 01:30 well, they were just people. 01:32 And people don't know the answers to every question 01:35 even though sometimes they pretend to. 01:38 While the wise men were smart enough 01:40 to tell the King Nebuchadnezzar 01:41 that there wasn't a man on earth 01:43 who could answer their question, 01:45 and they were right. 01:46 So what was Nebuchadnezzar to do? 01:49 We'll find out in just a few minutes but first, 01:53 Ranger Dwight has something very special 01:55 to show us on "Nature Time." 02:04 Hi, kids, welcome to "Nature Time." 02:06 We're at Grayling, Michigan, 02:08 and we've got an exciting story right here at Camp Au Sable 02:11 about some huge horses, not your normal horses, 02:14 and we've got the horse expert today, 02:17 Everett Jamieson. How are you, Everett? 02:18 I'm doing great. How about you, Ranger Dwight? 02:20 Oh, I'm doing fantastic. 02:21 And, you know, your father is Lee Jamieson. 02:24 He's been our Kids' Time for ten years 02:27 on the Bible study. He has got a white beard. 02:29 He's done a fantastic job. That's your dad, right? 02:30 That's correct. That is so neat. That is. 02:33 We got these horses right here and maybe they can 02:35 bring those horses up a little, 02:37 can you bring them up a little more? 02:39 I want to see them walk. This is awesome. 02:42 Okay. Hey, kids, how are you? 02:45 Hi, Ranger Dwight. Wow, you're all quite a load. 02:49 Now these horses are what kind of horses? 02:52 They're Belgian Drafts. They are not quite Clydesdale. 02:55 They are little smaller than Clydesdale. 02:56 Little smaller than Clydesdale. 02:57 Man, but they're huge, they're, 03:00 you know, what they're taller than I am. 03:01 If I go up there, look at you, I'm taller, 03:02 look at this thing. They are huge horses. 03:05 Now I would call this massive horse power. 03:08 That is a massive horse power. 03:09 Now I have a question for you. 03:11 It's a question that I've often wondered. 03:13 There's two horses, you could call those two horse power. 03:15 That is correct. But I think it's in car wise 03:18 it's probably 200 horse power. Yes, there is a lot more there. 03:22 Okay, so now, how much load can theses horses haul? 03:27 They can haul anywhere from about 03:29 four to six thousand pounds. Man, that is amazing. 03:33 Did you hear that, kids, four to six thousand pounds. 03:35 That's like hauling a car or truck. 03:37 Now these hooves, these are the biggest feet 03:40 I have ever seen on a horse. 03:42 Yeah, they're about 7 or 8 inches wide. 03:44 Now they got special shoes. They do. Okay. 03:47 They have shoes that help them in when they're pulling. 03:49 Okay, so they don't slip, or they can dig in better. 03:51 That's correct. Okay. 03:53 And I see that we've got a yoke. 03:56 This is a yoke for both the horses 03:57 and what is that do? 03:59 That keeps the horses working together, tied. 04:01 It keeps them going in the same direction. 04:03 Same direction, and kids think about that in the Bible 04:06 where it says, we should be unequally yoked, 04:08 well, that's where they got the yoke from right there. 04:11 And also Jesus says, my burden is light and my yoke is-- 04:15 my burden is easy, but my yoke is light, 04:18 and that's what this is talking about. 04:20 Now, does this help them pull together? 04:22 Yes, it helps them going in--it helps them 04:24 to keep together and in the same direction. 04:26 So what would happen if one lacked behind a little bit 04:29 would that kind of pull on him to make him go forward better? 04:32 That is correct. Well, that is so awesome. 04:35 And you know, kids, it's exciting today 04:37 because we have Michael and Jason, 04:38 Ms. Brenda's grandsons, and I was watching them 04:42 as they were coming up, Everett, 04:43 they were leading those horses. 04:45 Now these are huge horses, how can two small kids 04:49 like Michael and Jason control these huge horses? 04:53 Well, you have a range that comes from each head 04:56 all the way back to the driver and when the driver 04:59 pulls on one both heads begin to turn in the direction 05:01 that the driver would like them to go. 05:03 So they're connected together, 05:04 and if I may just take this right here, 05:07 this bit in their mouth you can just move them so easily. 05:09 Can't you? That's correct. 05:10 They move very nicely. 05:12 So it doesn't take much force to do it. 05:14 No. Not much at all. Wow! 05:16 And then one of the thing on a horse that is pretty neat 05:20 for these horses here because they'll plow or whatever. 05:23 They've got blinders on right there. 05:25 So what are those blinders for? 05:26 Those are to keep them focused in front of them 05:28 and so things on the side will not distract them 05:31 and make them scared. Okay. 05:34 So, you know, boys and girls, think about it. 05:36 It's like Moses looked to the left 05:38 and he looked to the right. 05:39 He should have been looking always to Jesus 05:41 and these horses have those blinders 05:43 so they can keep focus and pull those loads. 05:46 Well, I don't about you but this is been really exciting. 05:49 Kids, nature's God second book, 05:51 so get up there and take a look. 05:55 Bye, kids. Bye, Ranger Dwight. 06:00 Wow! That is so awesome. 06:09 Don't build your house on the sandy land 06:12 Don't build it too near the shore 06:15 Well, it might look kind of nice 06:17 but you'll have to build it twice 06:19 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more 06:22 You've got to build your house upon the rock 06:25 Make a good foundation on a solid spot 06:29 Oh, the storms may come and go, 06:32 but the peace of God you will know 06:36 Don't build your house on the sandy land 06:39 Don't build it too near the shore 06:42 Well, it might look kind of nice 06:43 but you'll have to build it twice 06:45 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more 06:48 You've got to build your house upon the rock 06:52 Make a good foundation on a solid spot 06:55 Oh, the storms may come and go, 06:58 but the peace of God you will know 07:02 Don't build your house on the sandy land 07:05 Don't build it too near the shore 07:08 Well, it might look kind of nice 07:10 but you'll have to build it twice 07:11 Oh, you'll have to build your house once more. 07:24 Welcome to "Learning Time." 07:26 Say, we've got a great experiment for you. 07:28 But you know, what, you can't do this at home 07:30 'cause we're going to be using some fire. 07:32 That can be really dangerous. 07:34 Now I've got some helpers over here 07:35 and I've got Hannah. 07:36 Now, Hannah, what's your favorite song? 07:39 My favorite song is the one they sung 07:41 at General Conference this year. 07:45 It's called "God's Amazing Grace." 07:47 Oh, cool. That's a nice song. 07:49 And we have Zakari. Now Zakari, 07:51 you have a favorite instrument. 07:53 Yes, I like to play the harmonica. The harmonica. 07:55 In fact, I'm going to ask Zakari 07:57 if he'll go ahead and introduce his family to us. 08:00 Okay. This is my sister, 08:01 Ashley, that plays the violin. 08:03 This is my dad that play guitar at our church school. 08:08 Cool. Hey, well, let's get the family coming up here. 08:10 And we've got some safely glasses, 08:13 and Angelo Rivera he's going to help me too 08:15 because we've got to help people holding the microphone. 08:17 Now we've got something very interesting up here. 08:19 Doesn't this look like a piece of muffler pipe up here? 08:21 Yes. That's because it's a piece of muffler pipe 08:25 and we've got 85 little tiny holes drilled in this pipe. 08:28 There are about 16 of an inch in diameter. 08:30 What we're gonna do is we're gonna feed them 08:32 with a little bit of propane gas 08:33 and so we're gonna open up this gas a little bit. 08:35 Now I'm going to put my match to it 08:37 over here with my lighter. 08:38 We're gonna have some little flames right here. 08:40 Whoa! Now that's interesting, isn't it? Yeah. 08:44 Now what we have on the other end, 08:45 we have a very, very thin piece of material 08:47 at the end of this piece of pipe. 08:49 We have an audio speaker, 08:50 that's a speaker like you might have in your radio. 08:53 And we're going to be using some of these, 08:55 our friends right here for Kids Time. 08:57 And we're gonna be using them to make some vibrations 09:00 coming through the speaker, and those vibrations 09:02 are gonna come in this pipe right here 09:04 and those little flames are going to show us 09:06 the patterns of wave lengths of those sounds. 09:09 Will that be cool to see? Yes. 09:12 Yes. So here, let's start off with our guitar. 09:14 All right, in our guitar, 09:15 we're gonna have our father here play a little bass, 09:19 so we can see some tone, see some sine waves. 09:23 Go ahead and see what we can get. 09:24 There we go. 09:28 Wow! Whoa! Keep going. 09:34 Wow! That's great. 09:40 Hey, let's see what we've got with our harmonica now. 09:43 Okay, let's see what we've got with our harmonica. 10:00 Amazing. Cool. Isn't that great? Yes. 10:04 Wow! Well, you know, Mr. Rubin, 10:06 he wanted to see sound and the only way 10:08 that he could figure it out was by using some flames 10:11 in a tube like this, and so we call it the Rubin's Tube. 10:14 You know, it's really fun to see 10:15 some people singing in it as well. 10:17 So we've got our two young ladies over here, 10:19 and let's see, you want to sing 10:21 just a little bit for us over here. 10:24 What you want me to sing? Whatever you like to sing. 10:27 Okay. Jesus loves me! This I know 10:33 For the Bible tells me so Little ones to Him belong 10:41 Let's join them, let's join them, 10:42 everybody, let's go join them, dad. 10:44 They are weak but He is strong 10:49 Yes, Jesus loves me 10:54 Yes, Jesus loves me 10:59 Yes, Jesus loves me 11:04 The Bible tells me so. 11:09 Wow! Give them a nice hand. 11:14 That is fantastic. 11:16 You know, you know, Mr. Rubin, 11:18 he was a pretty smart guy, wasn't he? Yes. Yeah. 11:21 And he loved music and he loves sound. 11:24 So we figured out how we could actually see sound waves, 11:28 every time a little wave comes up like here 11:30 and comes down that's the crest and the trough. 11:32 We can actually measure wave lengths of sound. 11:35 Isn't that great? Yes. 11:37 You know, what I think, boys and girls. 11:38 I think that some day, you know, 11:40 when you and I get to heaven, 11:41 I think we might be able to see sound. 11:44 Wouldn't that be interesting to see sound? Yeah. 11:47 I mean, why not, you know, because God says this. 11:50 In the Bible He says that eyes have not seen 11:53 and ears have not heard the glorious, 11:56 wonderful things that God has prepared for us 11:59 and maybe we will be able to do that. 12:01 We might even be able to smell colors. 12:03 How would that be? Yeah, in fact, 12:07 there's even some people that can do that today. 12:10 Well, you know, every time we learn more about science, 12:14 we learn more about our creator God. 12:29 Battles upon battles. Wars upon wars. 12:35 All that I accomplish, Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar the Great. 12:40 Long live King Nebuchadnezzar. What after I'm gone? 12:47 Can't let all of this go to waste. 12:52 Can't do it, I'll talk to my advisers in the morning. 12:59 I need sleep. I need to rest. 13:39 Head of gold, silver, silver, thighs of brass. 13:52 Gold head. Stolen, stolen wealth. 13:58 Stolen. Gold, get. 14:08 Guards, guards, guards. 14:11 What can I do for you, King Nebuchadnezzar? 14:13 Magicians, astrologers, sorceress, everyone, 14:18 wise men to my court immediately. 14:20 Right away, sir. Go now. Right. 14:23 All right. Attendant! 14:26 Yes, King Nebuchadnezzar, yes. You may dress me now. 14:30 Yes, yes, King, yes. 14:47 This King Nebuchadnezzar, why did he get us up? 14:50 I can't believe he broken our sleep time. 14:52 I was up late last night. 14:53 Well, he must think something's important. 14:55 But remember, just tell him what he wants to hear. 14:57 Yeah, we're the wise men. We will be in bed soon. 15:00 All right. It will be okay. 15:01 That's sounds good. Here you go. 15:03 All bow the knee. King Nebuchadnezzar, 15:05 ruler of all Babylon, enters. 15:19 You may rise, for the past several nights, 15:24 I've had a recurring dream one that troubles me. 15:30 But even more troublesome is upon my awakening 15:32 I knew not what it means or its nature. 15:36 You are my most trusted advisers. 15:39 Tell me what the dream means, and its interpretation? 15:45 Your Highness, live forever. 15:48 If you would tell us your dream, 15:49 we would be happy to give you the interpretation. 15:52 Yes, tell us the dream, King. My decision is firm. 15:57 If you would not tell me the dream 15:59 and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces 16:06 and your houses rented in ash heap. 16:09 Oh, oh, great merciful one. 16:12 If you could just tell us the beginning of the dream 16:16 or maybe part of the dream. 16:17 Enough, I know the certainty that you would gain the time. 16:24 For is a thing that is one with me. 16:28 If you do not tell me the nature of this dream 16:31 there is but one decree for you. 16:32 For you have prepared line and corrupt words 16:35 to sleep before me till the timing changed. 16:37 No. Therefore, tell me the dream. 16:41 Your Highness, what you ask only the Gods can do. 16:44 It is impossible for men to tell you the dream. 16:46 Guards, take these wise men, 16:49 these things away, and destroy them. 16:52 That's not right. 16:53 Go to every corner in the ground, 16:55 take everyone, every wise men, 16:57 destroy them all. 17:09 Daniel, Daniel, open the door. 17:15 Why is your sword drawn? 17:17 I have come from the King and he has ordered 17:18 all the wise men to be killed. Why? 17:21 Because they couldn't tell the King's dream. 17:23 You must take me to the King at once. 17:25 My God created everything and he knows everything. 17:29 He knows the King's dream. He knows the interpretation, 17:32 because my God Jehovah is the one true God. 17:36 Well, let's go and be quick about it 17:37 and you better be right because my head is on the line. 17:48 [Music] 18:56 Hi, boys and girls. 18:58 It's time for Miss Brenda's "Book of the Day." 19:01 And today's book is exciting book, 19:03 it's called "Gate of the Gods" by Thurman C. Petty, Jr., 19:08 and it's a story of Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar, 19:11 and loyalty to God. You will want this book 19:14 "Gate of the Gods." Well, boys and girls. 19:16 I'm so excited to introduce the guest I have with me today, 19:20 they are a home schooling group 19:22 and they love to share Jesus. Let me introduce them to you. 19:25 They are the Beacon of Light Home School group, 19:27 right? Hi, kids. Hi. And it's so, 19:30 I'm so glad that you are here today with Miss Brenda. 19:32 And I want to know, tell me--Well, 19:35 first of all I think, well, let me just see if 19:37 Miss Brenda can remember all your names. 19:38 Do you think I could do that? Yes. Let's see. 19:40 We have Jackie, and we have Andrew, and Gabriel, 19:43 and in the back we have Abbey, Ashley, Elisa, 19:46 and then we don't want to forget Christopher right here. 19:49 And Christopher, who do you have with you down here? 19:51 Max and Max is already sleeping, isn't he? 19:55 He said, okay, he's sleeping for the program, 19:57 he is kind of famous for that. 19:58 Yeah. But, Jackie, tell us-- 19:59 He looks like exactly early woken up. 20:02 He just pretending to sleep. You think he's just pretending 20:06 I don't know. Jackie, 20:07 tell me what is this home school all about? 20:11 Well, we go and serve others and show Jesus to them, 20:14 and then we also have activities. 20:16 You have activities. So well, you say, 20:17 you serve Jesus, so now you're not all related right. 20:20 You have come from different families 20:21 and so kids get together and you're all home schooled. 20:24 You take your school in your home, 20:26 and then you get together for activities. 20:27 What are some of the activities you've done to share Jesus? 20:29 Well, one, we went to lady's house 20:33 and we cleaned up her yard. 20:35 We raked a lot of leaves and we also after that, 20:38 we went to see another lady, a southern, 20:41 and she--it was her birthday 20:43 and so we brought her birthday cake. 20:45 Oh! Well, listen, I think we have a couple of pictures, 20:47 boys and girls, I want to show you 20:48 the first one is raking leaves right here 20:50 and that looks like a lot of hard work, doesn't it? 20:53 And then we have a picture, 20:54 what the lady's name with the birthday cake? 20:56 Phyllis. Phyllis, and she looks like 20:58 she is pretty happy to have that cake, doesn't she? 21:01 and that, but that doesn't--makes you feel good 21:03 when you can share Jesus like that. It does. 21:05 And you have a wonderful motto for your club. 21:08 In fact, Abbey, can you read 21:09 what's on the back of their shirts? 21:10 Let's read that. "A beacon of Christ's love 21:13 shining out of all of you and me. 21:16 A light in the darkness for all the world to see." 21:19 Isn't that nice? A beacon of light. 21:21 And that's what we all should be. 21:22 We should all be a beacon of light to share Jesus, 21:25 and that's wonderful. Well, I am going to-- 21:27 and you have something on you lap here. 21:29 What is that? Well, this is an apron for you 21:31 and it has our little poem on it. 21:33 It does. Look at that. They send me a apron. 21:36 Look at that. Thank you so much. 21:39 Miss Brenda got a lot of cooking in this. 21:40 Thank you. You're welcome. 21:42 That's one when you used it for "Tiny Tots." 21:44 Well, there you go, but my sisters can use that, 21:47 that's right. Okay, let, Abbey, tell me, 21:49 you and Elisa have a special project 21:51 to talk me to about. What is that about? 21:53 Well, it's the great day of service. 21:55 The community comes together the community of Joplin 21:58 and they go in the alleys in the streets 21:59 and they clean up people's yards. 22:02 They do? And tell me what-- 22:05 Can you tell me more about that, Ashley? 22:07 Well, our group, it was divided into groups 22:09 and lot of Christians came there. 22:11 It was at the College Heights Christian School. 22:13 And we were all put into groups and we went to go help 22:16 to different parts of the city, Joplin, 22:19 and we went to an alley and cleaning mud 22:21 and leaves falling and everything 22:24 and cleaned it all up, and it looked really nice. 22:26 So did you, well, you went on that too, Elisa? 22:29 Yes. What did you like most about that day? 22:32 Probably cutting the branches down. 22:35 Cutting the branches down. Was that--did you and you, 22:38 probably have all the nice tools to do that with, 22:41 and did you have any reaction 22:44 from anybody with you helping like that? 22:47 Actually, quite a few people, they all said thank you 22:50 and they were all happy that 22:51 we were able to come and help there. 22:54 Well, I think it's wonderful that all of you guys 22:56 can get together and find ways to share Jesus. 22:59 And I love all the letters from you, boys and girls. 23:02 When you send me letters and tell me what you do 23:04 to share Jesus and let me read 23:05 a couple of those letters right now. 23:08 In fact, the kids here, they told me, 23:10 they'd be more than willing help me hold up pictures, 23:13 and I think we do have a picture, 23:15 and can you hold this one up for me, 23:17 and this is a handsome young man there. 23:19 And he's from Grenada, West Indies. 23:21 It says, dear Miss Brenda. I love listening to you on TV. 23:25 I want you to know that I am a hard worker for the Lord, 23:28 and I went to Baptist Church when I was seven years old. 23:31 I enjoy the Bible lessons and I'm trying very hard 23:34 to get one of your lovely Bibles. 23:36 I tried to tell others about Kids' Time too, 23:38 so they can get your Bible too and learn more about Jesus. 23:41 I'm 12 years old on March 27, please pray for my family 23:46 so that they can live very long. 23:48 You see my dad died when I was three, 23:50 so I don't really know him because I was so small. 23:53 My mom loves me though and so does Jesus, 23:56 and so does Miss Brenda. Keep up the good works 23:59 and may God bless you. Love, Cade. 24:00 Well, Cade, you're right, Jesus loves you 24:02 and Miss Brenda loves you too. 24:04 And I can't wait to meet you someday 24:06 when we all get to heaven. 24:07 Won't that be wonderful.
