00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're gonna be late.
00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus
00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so
00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time
00:31 Hi, boys and girls,
00:33 I'm so glad you're spending time with me today.
00:35 Time is a very special gift from God.
00:38 And he loves when we use our time
00:40 to learn more about Him.
00:41 And that's exactly what we're going to do today.
00:43 Just like we always do in Kids' Time.
00:46 Gifts come in all sort of shapes and sizes, don't they?
00:49 Well, many years ago a man gave a special gift
00:52 to his wife because he loved her so much.
00:55 He didn't give her flowers or a pretty dress.
00:57 No, he didn't give her a beautiful horse to ride
01:00 or even an awesome dog like Max,
01:02 who's always sleeping.
01:04 Can you guess what it was?
01:06 He gave her a maid to help her around the house
01:08 and to keep her company.
01:09 Now this maid was a young girl and she had a kind heart
01:13 even though she had to work very, very hard
01:15 she was always cheerful.
01:17 And that's because Jesus was her best friend.
01:20 She knew how good and loving and powerful
01:23 he is and she liked to tell others all about Him.
01:26 But one day this young maid found the man's wife crying.
01:29 Something terrible had happened.
01:31 The Little Maid knew exactly what to do
01:33 but you'll have to wait for our Bible story today
01:36 to find out just what that was.
01:39 Boys and girls, you can be special gift to
01:41 others too just by being kind
01:43 and by sharing what you know about Jesus.
01:46 Well, right now, hey, Maxwell, Maxwell,
01:49 Max, he's gonna miss out.
01:52 Get ready for Nature Time.
02:02 Hi, kids, welcome to Nature Time.
02:04 We're in Grayling, Michigan, at beautiful camp
02:07 Au Sable on Lake Shellenbarger.
02:09 And we've got a nature lesson today about lily pads.
02:13 Now that might not sound too exciting but
02:15 I think it could be.
02:16 Now we have two Kids' Times friends.
02:19 Lance, how are you doing this morning?
02:20 Great, it's such an awesome experience.
02:22 It is, isn't it? How about you, Courtney?
02:24 I'm doing great.
02:25 Camp Au Sable is so much fun.
02:27 It is, Now this is a lily pad.
02:30 I want you, Lance, to show me
02:32 where the pad's at. Right there.
02:33 Okay, now what does a pad do?
02:37 Well-- Besides float on the water.
02:41 Well, there's that frogs could land on them.
02:44 Yeah, that's a good one.
02:45 Have you ever seen, kids, frogs on lily pads
02:48 but not only that,
02:49 these pads are pretty big around because that's where
02:52 the pad draws the sunlight in.
02:56 Now the other part of the lily pad
02:58 is the what, Courtney?
03:01 The flower. The flower.
03:02 Now where is the flower?
03:04 Well, it's right there, Ranger Dwight.
03:06 Okay, that means you're paying attention.
03:08 Now I want to ask you a question, see if know this.
03:12 At night time will you ever see a lily pad flower?
03:16 No, Why is that, do you know?
03:18 Because they close up during the night.
03:22 That's exactly right, kids.
03:23 They close up during the night.
03:25 And you know what,
03:27 I want you to look in this water right now, kids.
03:30 As you're looking at this, how does it look down there?
03:32 It looks really clear you can see
03:34 but what do you see on the bottom?
03:35 Mud, Mud and mud, Would you wanna swim in that?
03:38 No sir, How can a lily pad so beautiful grow in such muck?
03:45 Well, you know what, I was reading
03:46 a little bit on lily pads and it says
03:48 that the more fertile the ground
03:49 the more muckier it is,
03:51 you'll have beautiful lily pads.
03:54 I've actually seen lily pads in like a cesspool,
03:58 a terrible place, you would never even think
03:59 of being there, it's smelly.
04:01 But here comes a lily pad and that is a great object
04:04 lesson for us today about Jesus.
04:05 Jesus is the lily.
04:07 He's represented as the flower
04:09 and you know, we're in this world of muck and sin
04:12 and we all wanna to go to heaven, don't we? Yes, sir.
04:14 Absolutely, and you do too and I do too.
04:16 Ranger Dwight wants to get in heaven.
04:18 He's gonna see some awesome stuff up there,
04:20 but right now we see that Jesus is waiting
04:23 to be with you and I no matter how bad it is.
04:25 He's reaching his hand out to you and I so we can always
04:28 have Jesus in our hearts.
04:30 Kids, nature's got a second book.
04:33 Get out there and take a look.
04:34 Hey, kids, are you ready?
04:36 Let's go find some more stuff, okay.
04:38 Okay, There's other stuff besides lily pads
04:41 but the lily pad isn't that a neat thing.
04:43 Yes sir, I'll always think about Jesus
04:45 in this sin sick world as the lily pad.
05:39 We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing
05:45 He chastens and hastens His will to make known
05:51 The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing
05:57 Sing praises to His Name, He forgets not His own
06:04 Sing praises to His Name, He forgets not His own
06:30 Welcome to Learning Time.
06:31 Glad you join us today.
06:33 We've got an interesting lesson
06:34 and I need three special helpers.
06:36 I've got Holly over here.
06:38 Holly, I understand you play a musical instrument.
06:41 Um, yes, I play flute and I also sing.
06:45 Actually I wanna thank Miss Brenda
06:47 for inviting me next year to sing here
06:50 and I'm just really excited.
06:52 That is great. We have Isaiah.
06:54 Isaiah, I understand that you really like comedy.
06:58 Yes, I do, because I like to make other people laugh
07:01 and when I see comedy on TV I like laugh too.
07:07 And that's a talent, isn't it?
07:08 Yes, Make people laugh, very good.
07:10 And I've got Chris.
07:11 Now, Chris, I understand you had
07:12 an interesting broken arm story.
07:15 Yes, I was roller skating
07:17 and there was a skateboard on the floor
07:19 and I fell and my right arm hit it,
07:21 flew up in the air and my--
07:23 and it hit my left arm and broke it.
07:25 Well, it's a pretty bizarre accident.
07:28 In the middle of summer or so--
07:29 I'm glad you're okay, now.
07:31 Hey, let's get up my three helpers,
07:32 come on up here.
07:33 We got some things on the table
07:35 and I'm wondering,
07:37 what are these three things up here?
07:38 Actually we've got these white things what are those?
07:40 Toilet paper, This is a toilet paper.
07:42 Anybody have toilet paper around your house?
07:44 Yeah, well, you know that,
07:45 that's a lot of science experiment we have here.
07:47 We have a little paper roller and you know,
07:50 toilet paper was invented around
07:51 the 14th century and you know,
07:53 it has a lot of material on this toilet paper right here.
07:56 Now, Holly, I wonder if you can just take--
07:58 grab this and gather that up in your hand
08:00 and can you just quickly tear off a piece of that paper.
08:03 Just tear it quickly, just quickly, okay.
08:07 Or not? Okay, or not, okay.
08:09 Wow, it's not working very well, sit here.
08:12 So let's try.
08:13 What you have to do is, you have to tear it
08:15 a little more quickly.
08:16 So let's try that right here.
08:17 There you go and just go ahead and pull it real hard.
08:20 Wow, and snap and everything fell off
08:23 of the table, didn't it?
08:25 But you know what, what does Holly have in her hand?
08:28 She's got a little piece of toilet paper,
08:30 that's interesting.
08:31 Now let's try this other one right here.
08:33 Now we've got this one for Isaiah.
08:35 Now grab a hold, the whole thing there and just--
08:38 let's go ahead and tug on that--
08:39 just pull, nice pull for it.
08:41 Wow, look at that, oh my goodness,
08:43 did you want that much?
08:45 No, No I don't think so.
08:47 Well, it's interesting isn't it?
08:48 But you know, did you notice
08:50 that when we pull the roll that was really, really big
08:53 it has a lot of weight.
08:54 It has a lot of mass to it and we'll get Chris
08:56 to do this one right here and you pull that real sharp.
08:59 Notice when he pulls it real sharp, real hard,
09:01 it just tears right off and he gets a little piece.
09:04 That's because the toilet paper,
09:06 the big roll has a lot of mass and the inertia.
09:10 Inertia means an object at rest wants to stay at rest,
09:13 so when he grabbed a hold of it
09:15 the roll wanted to stay there
09:16 and he just ripped a piece off.
09:19 But you know if things don't have much mass,
09:21 if they're not very heavy they don't have much mass,
09:24 then they can move much more quickly with a little tug.
09:28 And so here, why don't you try that one again, Holly?
09:31 And go ahead and tug on that one right here.
09:33 Go ahead and tug it on.
09:34 Look at that and it just keeps
09:35 rolling and rolling and rolling.
09:36 Here, tug that again. Tug it again for us.
09:38 So here we go. Wow, wow, oh, my goodness.
09:41 And look at that we got
09:42 all of that toilet paper on there.
09:44 So things that don't have a lot of mass,
09:48 they don't have much inertia.
09:51 Either an object in motion wants to stay in motion
09:54 like this big roll of toilet paper.
09:56 Once you get it moving it just wants to move and move.
09:58 But an object at rest just wants to stay at rest
10:02 like this big old roll right here.
10:04 Isn't that interesting?
10:05 Yeah, You know that kind of reminds me
10:06 sometimes that people--
10:07 you know sometimes you and I might want somebody
10:10 to accept Jesus Christ as their savior.
10:12 We might force them.
10:13 Is that a good idea to force people
10:15 to accept Jesus Christ? No, I don't think so.
10:17 Just like that we might wanna just force them
10:19 and like we force this little piece of paper,
10:21 toilet paper off of the roll, but what happens?
10:24 We usually break our relationship with them
10:26 because they don't like it very well.
10:27 Do you like people forcing you?
10:29 No, I don't like people forcing me either.
10:33 But you know what,
10:34 if we just gradually get to know those people,
10:37 just pull it kind of nice, just keep pulling it.
10:39 Is that tearing now?
10:41 No, it started to move and it wants to keep moving
10:44 and that's interesting
10:45 and that's what you and I need to do.
10:47 You and I need to know people
10:49 to get to know them.
10:50 Once they get to know us and we get to know them,
10:53 then we can influence them
10:55 and we can have them accept Jesus
10:57 and we won't what?
10:58 We won't force them
10:59 because that's not a good situation to be in at all.
11:03 Well, remember, when we learn
11:05 more about science, we learn more about our Creator, God.
11:17 Okay, I have 30 pieces of silver over here,
11:20 30 pieces of silver anybody--
11:21 two pieces, two piles of gold,
11:23 two piles of gold here.
11:24 All right, 40 pieces of silver, 40--
11:26 any other bids, any other bids.
11:27 Sold to this one right here.
11:29 You, over there, get over there. She's got this one.
11:31 All right, next one, get the next one
11:33 up on the block here.
11:34 Help her up here, help her up here.
11:36 All right now who will start the bid?
11:38 Who will start -- I got --
11:39 do I hear anything for this woman
11:41 with the baby anything, any bids anywhere, anybody.
11:44 Nobody, somebody, somebody what is your--
11:48 I'll take the woman but I don't want the child.
11:50 You don't want the child.
11:51 All right, then you take the child, take the child.
11:53 No, Get the child out of here.
11:54 Take the child away, take the child away.
11:58 All right, now you want this one.
11:59 You want her for the same price, okay.
12:02 Take her away.
12:03 She's got her for the same price.
12:04 All right just get this next one up on the block.
12:06 Let's keep things moving, keep things moving.
12:08 Get her up on the block here.
12:09 All right, now I have this young one.
12:11 You'll have her for a long time
12:12 to be able to train her.
12:14 Captain Naaman, what can I do for you?
12:16 I have my eye on this one for Lady Naaman.
12:19 Anything you say, Captain Naaman, all right.
12:21 Come with me, Little Maid.
12:22 Help her down, help her down, there we go.
12:24 All right, bring the next one on up here come on up here.
12:26 I think you'll like Lady Naaman.
12:27 All right, of course we have another healthy
12:28 young lady here--
12:29 I think you and her will get along just fine.
12:33 Oh, there you are.
12:35 You must be the slave that Captain Naaman
12:37 has brought me to serve me in my house.
12:40 Let me tell you what I expect of you everyday.
12:43 First of all, you will come quickly when I call,
12:47 there will be no delay.
12:48 Yes, ma'am, And you'll be up at dawn everyday
12:52 in the kitchen helping to prepare food for each meal.
12:56 Yes, ma'am, You'll also be sweeping the floor
13:00 and there will be nothing left behind
13:02 when you are done, no dirt, do you understand?
13:05 Yes, ma'am, Captain Naaman and I are very faithful
13:08 in our worship of our Gods,
13:10 we worship twice a day and we expect that you'll join us.
13:15 Yes, ma'am.
13:16 I will do everything you ask me to.
13:20 But I will not worship your Gods.
13:24 I will only worship the God of Heaven.
13:27 The only real and true God.
13:31 Oh, well,
13:40 I like your spunk.
13:42 Very well, fair enough, Little Maid.
13:45 Now, let's get you out of these despicable clothes.
13:50 I will not have you seen in my house looking like that.
14:01 No, a little more that way there,
14:03 little more, little more,
14:06 that's good. Come, sit by me.
14:09 Yes, Lady Naaman.
14:13 Little Maid, in the time that you've been with me
14:15 I've grown very fond of you.
14:17 You're such a happy, cheerful worker and you never
14:21 seem to be lonely.
14:22 You do your work well.
14:23 Tell me, how is it that you are this way?
14:26 Well, I talk to my God in Heaven
14:30 whenever I feel lonely.
14:33 He always makes me feel better.
14:36 And I feel that--
14:40 I wouldn't be here if He hadn't given me great plans.
14:46 Lady Naaman, would you like to talk
14:49 to the God of Heaven?
14:51 You know, I think so, I think I would,
14:55 but not right now.
14:57 I need you to run to the market to get some bread.
15:00 Yes, Lady Naaman. Run along.
15:05 My dear wife. Captain Naaman.
15:08 I have some bad news.
15:09 What is it? What are those spots?
15:12 Its leprosy. Leprosy!
15:15 Yes, I have been to the doctors
15:17 there is nothing they can do.
15:19 No, no. It is a death sentence to me.
15:24 No. I have to go away.
15:26 Where will you go?
15:28 I must go where all the lepers go
15:30 and I want you to know I can come again no more.
15:33 No, But my heart, my heart is with you, my wife.
15:39 No, it can't be. Now I must I go.
15:43 Are you sure?
15:44 Yes, I'm sorry.
15:47 No, But I must go.
15:50 No, no, Captain Naaman, no.
16:00 Lady Naaman, what's wrong, why are you crying?
16:03 Oh, Little Maid, Captain Naaman has leprosy
16:08 and he must go away.
16:09 He can never come back, what will we do?
16:13 Oh, Lady Naaman, don't cry.
16:15 I know of a prophet in Israel that can heal him.
16:19 Really? Yes, oh, now I know
16:25 why God has brought me here.
16:27 Because if I wasn't here,
16:29 then you would never have known
16:31 that God is the God of Miracles
16:34 It will take a miracle, are you sure?
16:38 Yes, I'm positive, Lady Naaman.
16:42 Well, if it is true, then you must go,
16:47 go now to Captain Naaman and tell him at once
16:51 that he must go to the king
16:52 and tell the king, ask the king for permission,
16:55 go, go, please go, Yes.
17:10 [Music]
18:59 Hi, boys and girls, it's time for Miss Brenda's
19:01 book of the day.
19:04 And today's book is, "Ossie the Otter,"
19:07 and it's by Kenneth C. Crawford
19:09 and it's an incredible story
19:11 about Ossie the Otter in Alaska
19:14 and he's on a special mission.
19:15 I can't wait to tell you about it.
19:17 But I don't think I will tell you about it.
19:20 I think you're gonna have to read it.
19:21 So get the book "Ossie the Otter"
19:24 by Kenneth C. Crawford.
19:27 Now something you won't wanna miss today
19:28 and that's what our guest on the program is gonna tell us
19:32 Because she loves Jesus.
19:34 Loves to share Him.
19:35 And I want you to meet Hadassah.
19:38 Hi, Hadassah. Hi, Miss Brenda.
19:40 Thank you so much for being on the program with us today.
19:43 What state do you live in?
19:45 I live in Arizona.
19:46 You live in Arizona.
19:47 Tell me, what do you do to share to Jesus?
19:50 Well, when I was 15 months old I actually
19:52 have a picture of that. You do.
19:54 You were 15 months old
19:55 when you first started sharing Jesus?
19:56 Yes, Oh, let's have of this picture this.
19:58 Isn't she cute?
20:00 Look at this, boys and girls,
20:02 15 months old you're already shared Jesus.
20:04 You're passing out literature on this picture aren't you?
20:06 At the Arizona State Fair, my parents' health booth.
20:09 So you started at an early age learning to share Jesus,
20:12 that's wonderful, so then what?
20:14 And then when I was about five years old
20:16 I decided I want to have my own ministry.
20:20 So I collected empty water bottles
20:24 and pop cans and recycled them
20:27 and the truck that we took to--
20:31 Yes. Deliver them.
20:33 You collected lots and lots of water bottles, right?
20:35 Yes, in the truck bed it was 12 feet high
20:39 of water bottle bags.
20:40 Just bags full of these water bottles and they were piled
20:43 That's a lot of water bottles.
20:44 And I receive well over $450
20:47 with which I bought lots of blankets
20:50 and I wrapped them in Christmas wrappings.
20:54 And you gave them
20:55 to the homeless people didn't you?
20:56 Because of that other people would --
21:00 bought toiletries like toothbrushes
21:05 and they bought Bibles to give to the homeless.
21:09 Right, did you have any wonderful experiences?
21:12 Yes, When you were giving them out?
21:13 Tell me about it.
21:14 There was one person,
21:18 well, one couple that came by and with two kids
21:22 and they said, when they saw the gift wrappings
21:27 on the blankets, they said, oh, honey,
21:30 we did get a Christmas present after all,
21:33 the wife said to the husband.
21:35 And the kids said, thank you, thank you,
21:36 thank you, thank you so much.
21:38 Oh, how did that make you feel inside?
21:42 Good, Do you know that's the way it is,
21:44 boys and girls, when we do something for others.
21:47 Then you know, we, we wanna give --
21:49 be a blessing and we want God
21:50 to use us and we get the greater
21:52 blessing because it is, you know,
21:54 in the Bible it says, it's more blessed
21:56 to give than to receive, isn't that true?
21:58 And the more you give the bigger the blessing.
22:01 And so have you had any other wonderful experiences
22:05 where you've been witnessing?
22:07 Um-- Like some of the other things
22:10 you would like to do to share Jesus?
22:14 Yeah, I still like to do hand out magazines at the fair.
22:20 And when you hand out the magazines
22:23 and they're all things that have things
22:25 about Jesus in it, right?
22:27 What do-- do you have any wonderful experiences
22:29 when you hand them? What that's like,
22:30 what that's like, are you nervous giving them out?
22:34 No. No. And then,
22:36 well have you had any wonderful experiences
22:38 where people you know, said to you
22:40 oh, thank you so much for this?
22:41 Yes, actually I was handing out free healthy cookbooks
22:46 and one-- for one more reason I just said,
22:53 well, it was actually my friend handing out them.
22:56 My friend for one reason said, free vegan cookbook
23:01 instead of free healthy cookbook. Right.
23:04 And one of this, this couple said oh, vegan,
23:09 we just decided to be vegan,
23:11 we don't know what to make.
23:12 Hadassah, you are a real witness for Jesus
23:15 and Miss Brenda is very proud of you
23:17 and I'm sure Jesus is too.
23:19 Well, let's read some letters.
23:21 Boys and girls, I love you letters that you send
23:23 and I'm reading one today
23:24 from Florida and there's a picture. I love pictures.
23:28 Hadassah, would you help me hold that picture up,
23:30 I've got it upside down here, there you go.
23:33 Let's see what she has to say.
23:36 And she says, Dear Miss Brenda,
23:38 I love watching your show.
23:40 I first saw it when I was looking for something
23:42 to watch and Kids' Time
23:43 looked interesting so I watched it.
23:45 I was surprised when you said you went to Russia
23:47 because I am Russian but I live in America now.
23:51 Could you please sign me up for Bible studies?
23:54 Your friend, Dasha.
23:55 Well, Dasha, thank you so much and I like that picture
23:58 of you with the horse and yes,
23:59 we'll get you singed up for the Bible lessons right away.
24:02 Thank you, Hadassah, you're such a good help.
24:04 Let's see, we have a letter here from Emmy
24:07 and she is from California.
24:09 And this a letter to Maxwell, it says,
24:11 Dear Maxwell, how are you? I'm fine.
24:13 It said, next you're on the show stay awake okay.
24:16 Well, I hope you have a wonderful day or night.
24:19 Love, Emmy. P.S. Maxwell, I love you.
24:22 But poor Maxwell is sleeping right now
24:25 and Maxwell's so sound asleep.
24:27 He didn't even get to hear his own letter.
24:29 So I have to when he wakes up tell him about it.
24:32 And oh, it looks like you drew me a picture.
24:34 And let's see what this picture is.
24:36 Isn't this pretty, boys and girls?
24:38 Look at that picture.
24:40 Thank you, beautiful art work there and it has,
24:43 it says, has a picture, it says, I love Kids' Time.
24:46 I'm getting sleepy.
24:47 Is the show almost over for Maxwell to say that,
24:49 and then it says, remember, boys and girls,
24:51 it's Kids' Time to share Jesus.
24:53 And so there is Maxwell and Miss Brenda,
24:55 thank you for that. Now let's see the letter.
24:58 Dear Miss Brenda, how are you? I'm fine.
25:01 What have you been doing this week?
25:03 Or is Kids' Time all you do?
25:05 It's been really busy for you, hasn't it?
25:08 It says, I share Jesus in lots of ways.
25:10 I pass out books and magazines
25:12 to all my neighbors.
25:13 And it says, would you please pray
25:15 for my daddy, he's not a Christian.
25:17 And his family isn't Christian either.
25:19 And it said, please ask them --
25:21 Jesus to have them read the Bible
25:22 so they can get closer to God.
25:24 And it said, would you also pray
25:27 for my friend's mommy who has cancer and oh,
25:30 yes, my sister who has chickenpox.
25:31 So I need lots of prayers.
25:33 Love Emmy, Emily.

25:38 And, Hadassah, would you help me pray for Emily?
25:40 Sure, And she's got lots on her prayer list,
25:42 doesn't she?
25:43 I think we might have time for one more
25:46 and maybe a quick email.
25:47 I love the emails too, boys and girls. Yeah.
