00:01 It's almost time for Kids' Time.
00:03 We're gonna be late. 00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:08 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:12 It's time to share there's a world out there 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:24 Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time, Kids' Time 00:31 Hi, boys and girls, my favorite part of 00:33 each program is the Bible stories. 00:36 I like seeing the Bible, 00:37 it just come to life right before my eyes. 00:40 Today we'll see a story about a man who got caught 00:43 doing something he was not supposed to do. 00:46 He probably didn't think anyone was watching, 00:48 I mean, it was just a man and his donkey 00:51 right, who would ever know? 00:53 Now let me ask you, boys and girls, 00:55 is there ever a time when we're truly alone 00:57 and no one is watching, of course not. 01:00 Our angels are always with us and the Bible says that 01:04 God's eyes see everything that goes on everywhere. 01:08 The funny thing is God did something really strange 01:11 to get this man's attention. 01:13 But the man was so sad on doing a bad thing 01:15 that he didn't even notice. 01:18 Now I'm sure the man had no idea that he'd go down 01:21 in history for thousands of years for beings so foolish. 01:25 We'll hear the whole story in just the few minutes. 01:27 But first let's see what Ranger Dwight has 01:30 to show us on "Nature Time." 01:38 Hey, boys and girls, it's "Nature Time" 01:40 and I'm so excited today. 01:42 We're in beautiful Grayling, Michigan 01:44 at Camp Au Sable and man this is a great camp. 01:48 We got some special guests, Michael and Jason, 01:51 they're Miss Brenda's grandsons, 01:52 how are you kids doing? Great. 01:54 I see you got some rocks and that's exactly 01:57 what we're gonna talk about today. 01:58 And Mr. Morgan, you're the rock expert. 02:02 Well, I wanna welcome you to here 02:03 to the nature center, we have rocks and minerals 02:05 in this room from all over the world. 02:07 You know what, I came in here and I expected to see 02:10 animals and a couple of rocks. 02:11 There are so many rocks, I've never seen so many rocks. 02:14 In fact there is the table that I was looking at, 02:16 that the light shines though and they've got rocks 02:18 just like you've got Jason 02:19 and you've got Michael around this side. 02:21 It is the neatest thing and, Jason, 02:24 you were telling me a little bit before 02:26 that you actually crushed a rock, 02:28 is that true? Yeah. 02:30 How did you do it with, a pillow? 02:32 With another rock. With another rock 02:34 because you can't crush a rock with a pillow, 02:36 it's got to be something hard. 02:38 So today we're gonna talk about 02:40 a special type of rock, it's called a Crystal. 02:42 And we've got a huge one here, I've never seen one this big, 02:46 so this is a crystal right here. 02:48 So tell us about this, Mr. organ? 02:50 This is a crystal of quartz. 02:52 And quartz is probably the most common mineral 02:55 that there is, if you were to go down of the beach, 02:57 you pick up a little handful of sand 02:58 and you look very closely you're gonna find 03:00 a lots of little pieces of quartz. 03:03 So much of the sand is little pieces of quartz. 03:05 But this is a, you wouldn't wanna step on this 03:07 with your bare feet. No. 03:09 Now, I've another question, 03:10 I can almost see through this thing 03:12 but it looks like it was a real specialized machine 03:15 to shave this, just like it this, is that how that, 03:18 how they did that with the machine? 03:19 Well, it certainly looks that way 03:21 but really this is how God created 03:23 this particular type of mineral crystal. 03:26 And God arranged the atoms which are the little tiny pieces 03:30 that makeup everything into this nice 03:32 flat surfaces that we see all the way around. 03:35 So no machine, this is all by God and nature? 03:38 And that's right, when God created quartz 03:40 back in the Garden of Eden you could walk down the path 03:43 and you could pick up little tiny pieces of these crystals, 03:46 hold them in your hands and enjoy them. 03:47 Man, I can't wait to get into heaven, 03:49 because I bet you'll see all kinds of rocks 03:51 even better than this. 03:53 You known, there is another rock, 03:54 in fact this is a set of quartz rocks 03:57 right here, and this is, you said 03:59 this might have been found in Arkansas. 04:01 I believe it were. Lots of those 04:02 just together, right? That's right. 04:05 Now this right here, now this kids, 04:09 if you was hiking down the trail and you saw this, 04:13 will you pick it up, Michael? 04:15 No. Why? 04:16 Because it's ugly. It's ugly isn't it? 04:19 You think that's ugly, Jason, isn't that ugly? 04:21 But you know what, I wouldn't even 04:23 want to step on the thing to waste my time, 04:25 but look what happens on the inside. 04:27 Isn't that pretty? Yeah. 04:29 And that's purple and so now, Mr. organ, what, 04:32 this is quartz too, right only different color? 04:34 This is, instead of calling it purple quartz, 04:37 we called this amethyst. Wow! 04:39 And this is part of a geode. 04:41 And geodes are found out in nature, 04:43 we're not quite sure how they were created, 04:45 probably back during the time of the flood, 04:48 but you break them open and many times, 04:49 you find beautiful crystal formations on the inside. 04:53 And as I said, amethyst is just another type of 04:57 the quartz that we saw. 04:58 And it's purple but you know what, 04:59 there's a spiritual lesson in this, kids, 05:01 a great spiritual lesson and that is what? 05:05 Well, you know, many times we judge people 05:07 by what we see on the outside and that's not very good 05:10 because as we know this doesn't look 05:12 very, very good on the outside 05:14 but when you look in the inside it's beautiful. 05:16 And I'm glad that that's how God judges 05:19 each one of us, He looks on our heart. 05:21 And when we have Jesus living in our heart, 05:23 then we become a thing of beauty 05:25 just like this, this amethyst geode. 05:28 You know, kids, every one of us might look like this, 05:33 we all see ourselves like this 05:34 but you know what, Jesus sees us not like this, 05:38 Jesus sees us like this, isn't that neat? 05:42 And you know what, even though 05:43 other people might make fun of you. 05:45 As you are in school and going though your life 05:48 and have challenges maybe they say you're ugly 05:51 or you know, they don't wanna be your friend. 05:53 But you know what, it's not the case 05:55 with Jesus, is it, Michael. 05:57 Jesus always sees this right here 06:00 and I want you to always know 06:02 that Jesus loves you very, very much 06:05 and with his love you never can look like this, 06:10 you'll only look like this. 06:13 Remember kids, nature is God's second book, 06:16 so get out there and take a look. 06:25 [music] 08:25 Welcome to "Learning Time. 08:26 "I'm glad you joined us today, 08:28 today you're gonna see something 08:30 that you just won't believe. 08:32 And you know, I've got a couple of helpers. 08:34 First of all, I want to introduce Rachael, 08:37 now Rachael, what is your favorite thing 08:40 that you like to do? Play soccer. 08:43 Play soccer, is that how you hurt your toe? 08:45 No. No. 08:46 Because you wear shoes for that don't you? 08:49 Yeah, well, hey, I'm glad that you're gonna help us 08:51 and we're gonna have some more helpers too. 08:53 And we have Noah over here, now Noah, 08:55 do you have a favorite animal 08:57 that you like to have in heaven? 08:59 Monkeys. A monkey, why a monkey? 09:02 Because monkeys are cool. They are cool aren't they? 09:04 And you know, we're gonna need more helpers 09:06 than just that, and we'll call them up in just a minute. 09:09 But I've got some weights up here, 09:11 hey, why don't you two come on up here, okay. 09:13 And why don't you stand over here, 09:15 we got a big weight, this is an Olympic weight 09:17 and how much does that weigh? 09:18 Can you see what that says? 09:20 Forty five pounds. Forty five pounds, 09:21 it's probably a little, little bit more than 09:24 what you guys weigh, but you know what? 09:26 You think you can lift that up with your tongue? 09:28 No. No, you think 09:29 they could lift it up with their tongue? No. 09:32 Well, today we're gonna see if we can lift 09:35 two of this 45 pound weights, 09:38 Olympic weights by using our breath. 09:41 Blow out for me, here we go. 09:45 Do you think that you have enough energy 09:47 in your lungs to lift ninety pounds? No. 09:51 Well we're gonna find out and I need 09:53 the rest of our helpers, if you'd come up 09:55 and form around the table 09:57 go on over there and get your place, 09:59 because we're gonna -- oh, wait, wait, 10:00 before we do that, we're gonna have to set it up. 10:02 We're gonna set another table on this table right here. 10:05 And then we're gonna have our two strong gentleman 10:07 we've got Dave and Angel and they're gonna put 10:10 the two 245 pound weights on top of the table. 10:14 Okay, so, they're they go everything is all wind up. 10:17 While they're doing that I'm gonna show 10:18 you what we're gonna use. 10:20 We're gonna use a quart size baggy with a straw on it. 10:24 And each one of our helpers are going to 10:27 take the end of this straw when we say, 10:29 we're gonna have a countdown three, two, one, 10:32 and they're gonna start blowing into their straw. 10:34 Okay, get your places, let's go guys get your places. 10:38 And they're gonna start blowing, 10:39 but we're gonna give them a countdown, three, two, one, 10:41 do you think they can lift that with their breath? 10:44 Yeah. Should be fun to see. 10:49 Now when you start blowing into that bag, 10:53 I want you to the keep blowing, 10:54 you can take a breath, right, 10:55 and then keep blowing, if you need to take a breath, 10:58 take a breath but keep blowing. 10:59 We're gonna see if those weights are going to jump, 11:01 they're not gonna jump off the table 11:03 that would be bad news. 11:04 But they should lift right up because if, 11:07 watch what happens when I blow 11:08 into my bag, here we go. 11:13 Did the bag get bigger? Yeah. 11:15 And so the table ought to lift up about 11:17 that much and the weights ought to take off, 11:19 will not take off but they're gonna go up into the air. 11:22 Are you ready guys? Yes. 11:24 Okay, get your mouth on your straw 11:27 and why don't you help me 11:29 give them our countdown three, two, one? 11:31 Are you ready? Let's go. 11:33 Three, and two, and one and blow, blow, blow, blow, 11:38 keep blowing, keep blowing, 11:39 is it looking up, don't hang on to the table, 11:42 don't hang on to the table, keep blowing, 11:44 keep blowing, don't hang on to the table, 11:46 there we go keep blowing. 11:47 Did it go up in the air? Yeah. 11:50 Ninety pounds, can you believe that? 11:52 Okay, rest guys, rest, take a breath, 11:54 okay, and take a breath. 11:56 I'm out of breath just trying to 11:57 watch them do it, did you think 11:59 that you could do this? Yeah. 12:03 It seems rather impossible would you like to see them 12:05 do it one more time? Yeah. 12:07 All right, get to your stations everybody, 12:10 get your mouth on this straw right here. 12:12 Let's give them a countdown. 12:13 He needs a little bit of room, 12:14 can you move around little bit, 12:16 can you come in, come in, come in? 12:19 Let's give them a countdown, here we go, 12:21 three, two, one, and give it a nice blow, 12:25 give it a nice blow and it goes up in the air again. 12:29 Wow, and you can keep blowing until you pass out, okay? 12:35 Okay, give it a nice rest, but you know, 12:37 that's very interesting, because our breath 12:40 is really, really strong. 12:42 But you know, if I try, if I ask anyone of you, 12:45 if you could take and blow up ninety pounds 12:48 with your mouth just by blowing, 12:50 could you think you could have done it? 12:52 No. No, but you know what, 12:53 it took team work didn't it? 12:55 We have all these people doing the same thing 12:58 and there is power when we get together with people 13:01 that reminds me, you know, when Jesus was on the earth, 13:04 He had, how many, how many of His friends around him? 13:07 He had those 12 chosen people and they turned the 13:11 world upside down for Christ, 13:13 there is power in numbers especially 13:15 where when we're with Jesus. 13:17 And you know when we learn more about science 13:19 we learned more about our Creator, God. 13:32 King Balak, look at all those Israelites out there 13:34 what do we're gonna do, look at them all. 13:36 Yeah, King, all those Israelites have to go. 13:39 I know they are right along our border. 13:42 All the people of Moab are afraid. 13:45 I don't know what to do? 13:46 Their God can split the red sea with His hand. 13:50 If we go against them with 13:51 the military we'll loose, we'll be defeated. 13:54 We need Balaam to curse them. 13:56 Prophet Balaam, we've already been there, 13:58 he's not gonna come. 13:59 Well, King Balak, what can we do 14:01 to get Balaam to come here? 14:03 I know, we tried to give money before. 14:06 But this time, we're gonna really 14:09 give him some money. Yeah. 14:11 I want you to empty all the treasuries, 14:12 I want you to give him the 14:13 biggest pile of money he's ever seen. 14:15 He will not be able to resist it. 14:16 No. No. 14:17 He won't be able to resist it, that will get him. 14:19 All right, go, do it. 14:25 Well, come in, come in. 14:26 Well have a seat, have a seat, sit down. 14:29 We're ambassadors from King Balak. 14:30 From the land of Moab. I know who you are. 14:34 You've been here before, I told you my God told me, 14:37 I can't go with you. 14:38 But, but, we've been sent with a special request 14:40 from King Balak, it's a simple request 14:43 to curse the Israelites. 14:44 Well, I cannot curse the Israelites, in fact, 14:46 if your king gave me all the gold in treasury you have. 14:49 We thought you'd say that. 14:50 Well our king has sent some many gifts and treasures, 14:53 look at this, prophet Balaam, look at all this gold. 14:59 Sure, you can be a rich man. 15:01 And if that's not enough to entice you. 15:02 Look at this. Oh, oh, Wow. 15:06 Look at this, all this. Oh, my God. 15:10 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, so all this is mine. 15:12 Ah, no, no, no, once you curse the Israelites. 15:16 Once you curse the Israelites. 15:17 Hold on, sit down, sit down, sit down, 15:21 stay the night, just stay the night. 15:23 And I will talk with my God 15:25 and maybe he'll change his mind. 15:29 Okay, that's it for now. 15:38 The jewels are gone, they're gone, 15:40 they've left, I got to get to talk to them, 15:43 got to get to talk to them, catch up with them. 15:48 Why do you keep stopping, don't you know 15:50 we have places to go and people to see. 15:54 You're as stubborn as well a donkey. 16:02 What have I done to you that you straped these 16:05 three times, because you've abused me, 16:08 you've abused me, if I had a sword 16:11 I would kill you with it. 16:13 Am I not your donkey which you 16:15 have ridden ever since this day, 16:18 was I ever disobedient to you. No. 16:24 I have come to stand against you 16:25 because you have turned away from the Lord, 16:28 if your donkey had not seen me in the road 16:30 surely I would have killed you. 16:34 I have sinned, I have sinned, 16:37 if I knew that you stood in the way, 16:40 if it pleases you I will go back, I will go back. 16:45 You may go with the men, but you may only speak 16:49 the words that I give you. 16:51 Yes, I will, I will do what you say, I will. 17:04 No one, no one could go against God. 17:08 No one. 17:25 Since I started for the Kingdom 17:32 Since my life He controls 17:39 Since I gave my heart to Jesus 17:47 The longer I serve Him The sweeter He grows 17:54 The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows 18:02 The more I love Him, more love He bestows 18:09 Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows 18:17 The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows 18:52 The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows 19:00 The more I love Him, more love He bestows 19:07 Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows 19:14 The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. 19:33 Hi, boys and girls, it's time for 19:35 Miss Brenda's "Book of the Day." 19:38 And today's book is called 19:39 "Dick the Babysitting Bear" and it's by my good friend 19:43 Joe Wheeler and this is an exciting book. 19:47 I love to read about bears too, don't you? 19:49 You're gonna like this book, boys and girls. 19:51 Well, I want to introduce a couple of 19:53 really special guests today. 19:55 I want you to meet Andrew and his sister, Gabriel. 19:58 Thank you guys for being on the program 20:00 with Miss Brenda and I understand 20:02 that you love to share Jesus, 20:04 is that right? Yes. 20:05 In fact, both of you are a part of a home schooling 20:08 group that, that's what you do as you get together 20:11 and you do things to share Jesus. 20:12 But you try to take advantage of sharing Jesus 20:15 everywhere you go and I loved a story 20:17 you told me about when your mom 20:20 was going to different garage sales and doing 20:22 some garage sale shopping, tell me what happened? 20:25 Well, she was doing the garage sale shopping 20:28 like you just said and go. 20:30 And I was, I saw a baby, 20:35 since I like babies or I like baby. 20:38 And I had a need, I saw the baby 20:43 I went over and kneeled to it and started praying for it. 20:47 And you start praying for the baby. 20:49 Now, Andrew, now your name is Andrew and you're Gabriel. 20:52 Andrew, what did, what make you decide 20:54 to start praying for the baby? 20:57 Because I saw this girl, you know, Jesus in the, 21:01 since our children are our future 21:05 we should pray for them, 21:07 so we have a better future than we have now. 21:10 That's right, if we get to know, 21:11 Jesus that is only way, isn't it? 21:13 Yeah, it's the only way you can know Him. 21:15 And did the, did the baby's mother say anything 21:17 to you about praying for her baby? 21:19 No, in fact, I didn't even see her mother anywhere. 21:22 So the baby was just there by itself and-- 21:25 Yeah, I guess, the mother wasn't inside, 21:27 I guess and the dad too. 21:29 Oh, wow, so you just said a nice prayer for the baby. 21:32 Well, that was a nice thing 21:33 to do wasn't it, boys and girl? 21:34 And Gabriel, what do you, you had an experience 21:38 around recently where you share Jesus, 21:40 tell me what you did, were you playing 21:41 in a park one day and what happened? 21:44 I found a boy that had his knee and, he's wounded, 21:48 he's mother wouldn't mind. 21:50 So I asked my grandma and she didn't have 21:53 a band-aid and I asked my nanny, and she had one. 21:56 So there was a little play, 21:57 a little boy there that had, 21:59 that had hurt his knee and was bleeding. 22:01 And nobody was fixing, so did you went around 22:03 looking for band-aids and your, 22:05 and your grandma had one. 22:06 And then what did you do? 22:08 I put it in his knee and I asked 22:10 if he wanted some water and he said, no, but thanks. 22:13 But thanks, how did that make you feel when you, 22:16 you helped somebody else? 22:18 Good. It makes you feel good, doesn't it? 22:20 Miss Brenda's a nurse did you know that? 22:22 And I helped lots of boys and girls when they, 22:24 put bandage on their knees and it makes Miss Brenda 22:27 feel good when I can help somebody else too. 22:29 And that's the way it is boys and girls. 22:30 When we help someone else, it makes us feel good too 22:33 and it makes Jesus really happy. 22:35 Well, I want to read some letters, boys and girls. 22:37 I love getting the letters from you. 22:40 And let's see, I have one from Australia right here, 22:44 and let's see what this letter says. 22:48 It's, it's kind of a thick envelop here and let's see. 22:53 And it's Kids' Time from Australia 22:55 and they've sent me a card, 22:56 they've sent me all kinds of little cards in here. 22:59 In fact, I'll let you hold one of those up for me 23:01 each of you and you want to hold one up, Gabriel? 23:04 There's quite a few of them in there and it said 23:06 to Miss Brenda from Kay Marie, 23:09 so Kay Marie, I guess it is. 23:11 It said, "Can I please have Bible lessons 23:14 for me and my neighbors." 23:16 And then the letter inside said, 23:17 "Dear Miss Brenda, Brenda my name is Kay Marie 23:20 and I'm from Australia and I share Jesus 23:23 when my Mom and Dad go and they speak 23:26 and sing places and I go to with my sister 23:28 and they really enjoy hearing me sing. 23:31 And sometimes we sing at church too, and it's like, 23:34 I wanted to let you know that we love Kids' Time 23:37 and we want to sign up for your Bible lessons please. 23:39 Thank you so much.
