00:01 It's almost time for Kid's Time,
00:03 we're going to be late. 00:04 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:08 looking for a friend like Jesus. It's time to share 00:14 there's a world out there; Let's tell them that 00:17 He loves us so. Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:24 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:31 Hi, boys and girls. One of the most fun games 00:34 kids play is called hide & seek, I used to play this 00:37 game when I was a kid and my children loved to play 00:40 it too. Now, my grandsons Michael and Jason play 00:43 it with me and we have so much fun. In our Bible 00:47 story today you will learn about two men who had to 00:50 hide, they were spies, trying to get information 00:53 so the army can destroy the city of the enemy. 00:56 And they had disguised themselves and snuck 00:58 into the city to scout it out. Suddenly there is a knock 01:02 at the door and somebody has turned them in, 01:04 somebody has just told the enemy that they are in town, 01:08 the soldiers with their weapons are right there 01:10 outside the door, what should 01:12 they do? Hide and hide quickly, 01:14 this is no game of hide & seek, this is the real thing 01:18 and if they get caught they will surely be killed. 01:21 Well, by now you're probating wondering what's going 01:25 to happen to the two spies? Can they find a place to hide, 01:28 where they won't get caught? I don't know, Max, 01:32 what do you think? In our Bible story you will find 01:35 out where they hid and if they got caught. 01:39 You are not gonna want to miss this exciting story, 01:41 but first we are gonna have to get ready Maxwell, 01:43 are you awake, are you ready for Nature Time, 01:45 let's get ready for a Nature Time. 01:55 Hi, boy and girls and welcome to Nature Time. 01:57 Take a look at what's going on behind Ranger Rod 02:00 right now. This is a geyser, not just any geyser, this 02:03 is old faithful, old faithful geyser shoots off faithfully 02:07 every 90 minutes or if you ever take a few, 02:11 a 180 feet high, take a look behind me here, 02:14 isn't this beautiful, Ranger Rod is gonna kind 02:17 of get out of the way here and let's 02:18 just look at this beautiful geyser. 02:23 You know, today Ranger Rod is in beautiful Yellowstone 02:25 National Park. I wish you are here with me right behind 02:28 me, looks like a lot of boys and girls out here, 02:30 their moms and dad have brought them out here 02:31 to enjoy this beautiful, beautiful geyser, 02:34 isn't that amazing? Geysers are one of the most famous 02:39 geothermal features in Yellowstone. 02:41 The geothermal feature, Ranger Rod, what's that? 02:44 Well, that's where hot water from underneath 02:47 the ground is some have bubbling up and boiling 02:49 and we can see it on the surface. 02:51 There's several different kinds, there's hot springs, 02:52 there's femoral, there's steam vents, 02:55 there's geysers, geysers are my favorite, 02:57 they're everybody's favorite, in fact there are 02:59 some really famous ones here in the park. 03:02 This geysers here, this is hot water, it's made steaming 03:05 hot, deep underneath the surface of the earth 03:07 and as it gets hot, it rushes up and comes to the little 03:10 constriction at the top. Isn't it just beautiful? 03:13 Isn't this exciting? There's thousands of people here 03:15 right now that are watching it. Boys and girls 03:17 just like you, who are fortunate enough to actually 03:20 be here in person. Maybe someday you will get the 03:23 chance to actually watch this beautiful faithful geyser 03:26 go off here in Yellowstone National Park. 03:33 Eight thousand gallons of water come out during 03:35 this eruption. You might ask why if shoots so high 03:37 like that, 180 feet, it sort of like putting your thumb 03:40 over top of a garden hose. Maybe when you're trying 03:42 to spray your brother or your sister or you're having 03:44 some fun. Look friends, look over there. 03:47 I like to tell you another story, faithfulness, 03:50 this is our story about a nine-year-old girl, Alicia, 03:53 our daughter, who every single day until her marriage 03:56 to J.D., February 10, 2008, that's ten years, 04:00 five months and sixteen days from the time she was 04:03 nine-years-old, 3816 times she wrote her mom and 04:08 dad a letter, a little love letter every night before 04:11 she went to bed without a single miss. 04:14 Not one miss just like old faithful that you see here 04:17 behind me. She never missed over a 100 years, 04:20 he's been monitored, this beautiful geyser every 90 04:22 minutes without a miss. Alicia did that for over 04:26 ten years without a miss that little letter. 04:31 Don't you love these examples that we get from nature 04:33 like beautiful old faithful. The example we have from 04:37 a young girl and the examples that we get from the 04:39 Bible on faithfulness, that's old faithful, right on time, 04:43 doesn't last very long, but it sure is incredible. 04:46 Oh! I love it, you know, sometimes old faithful lasts 04:49 a little longer than other times, you can kind of tell 04:52 by what kind of splashing and, and little events of steam 04:57 that come up before the geyser erupts. 04:59 But more of that, the more sort of teasing that 05:01 old faithful does before it actually erupts, 05:04 the shorter the eruption is gonna be. 05:07 This one was kind of a short one. Sometimes, 05:09 they are last a little bit longer, you never 05:11 really know just quite how long they're gonna last, 05:13 but that's part of the fun of being here at 05:15 Yellowstone National Park, there's a lots and lots 05:17 of geysers all through this area, 05:19 but again like Ranger Rod said, this is the most 05:22 famous, that's why these benches were so full 05:24 of boys and girls and moms and dads, 05:26 they are all here on this beautiful sunny day 05:28 to watch this beautiful, beautiful geyser, 05:31 just like you've been able to do in the comfort 05:33 of your home. You know, boys and girls 05:35 had to travel great distances to come here 05:37 to Yellowstone, I hope that you are gonna 05:39 get an opportunity maybe someday to visit a 05:41 beautiful natural feature, not too far from your home. 05:45 Boys and girls, this is the faithfulness of, 05:47 of this geyser reminds me have some Bible stories. 05:51 You know, Daniel was faithful, 05:53 the Bible tells us that that he was so faithful, 05:55 he prayed to God three times a day, 05:58 that got him into some trouble, he ended up 05:59 spending the night in a lion's den for that, 06:01 do you remember the story. There's some other 06:04 faithful boys that were friends of Daniel's, 06:06 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. You know, 06:08 they had to get into a fiery furnace, 06:10 a lot hotter than old faithful here. In fact, they 06:13 would have probably been happy for a little water 06:15 in there, but you know, what? Jesus protected 06:17 them because they were faithful. You know, 06:19 the Bible tells us in Revelation 2:10 that, 06:23 "If we are faithful unto death that Jesus will gave 06:26 us a crown of life." You know, boys and girls the 06:29 examples that we see in nature, they are all 06:31 around us. We need to apply them to our lives, 06:34 we need to read God's word and apply his word 06:37 to our lives as well, amen. We can be faithful, 06:40 we can be faithful to our parents, we can be faithful 06:42 in school, be honest and true always. 06:44 Be faithful like this old beautiful geyser that 06:47 we just enjoyed so much. Until next time boys and girls, 06:51 this is Ranger Rod saying, let's 06:52 all enjoy God's great outdoors. 07:12 He made the water run, he made lands stay dry put. 07:16 Twinkle in stars and blue in the sky, 07:19 when he was sure it worked as it should, 07:24 God looked at his world and said that's good. 07:28 Good, good, good, he said that's good, good, 07:37 good, good, God looked at his world and said that's good. 07:46 He put a little wag in a puppy dog's tail, 07:49 put a little a little slow in a silly old snail, 07:53 when he was sure it worked as it should. 07:57 God looked at his world and said that's good. 08:02 Good, good, good, he said that's good, good, good, 08:10 good, God looked at his world and said 08:15 that's good, that's good, that's good. 08:28 Welcome to learning time. I'm glad you joined us 08:31 today. Hey, we've got an interesting science 08:33 experiment and I've got some helpers, 08:34 so let's see who will have over here. 08:36 Oh! I've got Jordan over here. 08:37 Jordan, what do you like to do best in the 08:39 summer time? Go swimming. Go swimming! 08:44 Now that would be a cool thing to do. 08:45 And we have Jacob over here and Jacob how old 08:48 are you? Twelve. Twelve-years-old 08:50 and I'm glad you're with us too, and we've got 08:52 Camille over here, Camille, when you're out of school 08:55 in the summer time what's your favorite activity? 08:57 Swim. Swimming! Wow! Hey and why don't you 09:01 all come up here because we're gonna do an 09:03 interesting experiment that has to do with water 09:05 and you mentioned some swimming and that should 09:08 be good. Okay, if you could stand right here at the end, 09:10 come on up here Jacob, you can stand right in the middle 09:12 and that will be fun, right over here in the middle 09:15 this is interesting. Now, how many of you like to swim? 09:17 Oh! I do too. You know, you also like to swim, 09:20 I know you just told me you like to swim, 09:22 don't you? You know, have you ever taken 09:23 a deep breath and then you went under the water, 09:26 have you ever done that? Okay, and then 09:28 have you ever dove down really deep maybe 09:30 in a swimming pool, have you ever done that? Yeah, 09:33 well today we're gonna be looking at that because 09:35 there is a lot of science and breathing. 09:36 How many you ever breathed under water, 09:39 have you ever breathed under water? Have you all ever. 09:41 It's interesting you know, fish do that all the time, 09:44 don't they? Now, but we're not fish. Now, today I've got 09:47 some balloons and if you could pick up a balloon right 09:49 there and let's see what we can do, can you, 09:52 can you blow your balloon up. And here let me blow 09:54 your balloon up and go ahead and blow it up for us, 09:56 here we go. And it takes a lot of energy to blow up, 09:58 you know stretch it out, and then it's easier to blow up, 10:00 here we go. Okay, then the hardest job about blowing 10:07 up balloons is doing what? Tying. Tying a balloon 10:10 and I could tie mine over here. Hey, why don't 10:12 you hold on to mine Jacob. And I'll help you tie yours, 10:15 okay. Just like this here we go, we are gonna tie this 10:18 balloon up here. Oh! Did you get yours all tied up, 10:21 not yet, I'll tell you, I'm getting my fingers all tied up 10:25 There we go, now hang on to this, now I'm gonna 10:27 comeback over here what we have right here is we 10:29 got a little vacuum chamber. And you know, 10:31 what happens if you and I are a swimming pool 10:34 and we take a deep breath and we go down to the 10:36 bottom of the pool, we can't breathe again until 10:39 we comeback up. You know, if we happen to be a 10:41 scuba diver you know scuba divers they carry their 10:44 own air, don't they? In tanks, and if they take 10:46 a deep breath in the bottom of the swimming pool 10:49 or maybe they're in the ocean some place you know, 10:51 what they have to do, when they come up, 10:54 they have to breath that's right, they can't hold 10:56 their breath and they got a breath of air, 10:58 way at the bottom they have to let the air out as they 11:01 come up. Otherwise something interesting would 11:03 happen and very dangerous. So, we're gonna 11:05 kind of do this experiment, can you put your 11:07 balloon right in there, okay and put yours right 11:09 in there for us. Oh! Oh! That one's too big. Okay, 11:14 well let's see, oh! Let's see hey let's just try yours, 11:17 okay. Alright, so we got one that's just the right 11:19 size and I'm gonna put those right on top of my 11:21 vacuum chamber just like this and that that 11:24 represents a diver, a diver that took a big breath 11:27 of air underneath of water and as they come up, 11:30 if they don't breathe out, what do you suppose 11:33 would happen to them? They'll drown. They will drown 11:35 something might happen, I'm gonna turn this 11:38 on and this is, we are gonna look at this, 11:40 what's gonna happen to our little balloon. 11:42 What's happen to our balloon? It's getting bigger. 11:45 It's getting bigger because there is a less pressure 11:46 on the balloon and if that was the diver's lungs, 11:50 the lungs would do what? Wow! The lungs would 11:52 do what? Wow! The lungs would you have a problem 11:57 wouldn't they? And air would get into their blood 11:59 system and that would be a bad situation, 12:03 wouldn't it? But you know what do fish happen 12:05 do they have to worry about breathing out now 12:07 I'm not holding their breath at the wrong time. 12:09 No. No, they don't have to worry about that because 12:13 God created them just that way you know, 12:15 I think that maybe someday we are gonna be able 12:17 to breath under water, how many if you are like 12:19 to breath under water? Well, I will too, 12:21 that would be kind of interesting, wouldn't it? 12:23 Because there is lots of interesting things 12:24 that we can see under water. So, divers have 12:27 to be very, very careful when they're under water, 12:29 if they take a deep breath under water. 12:31 As they come up what should they keep doing? 12:34 Breathing in and out, they shouldn't hold their breath, 12:36 if they hold their breath, what would happen? 12:40 They'd pop. That air would go right into their blood 12:41 system and that would be a bad news, 12:43 it's called an air embolism and they could die, 12:46 isn't that interesting? That's why you have to get 12:48 very special training to be a scuba diver and that's 12:51 really fun. Now, you know, I want to thank my, 12:53 my helpers today. You know you did a great job, 12:57 Jordan, thanks for being with us and Jacob, 12:58 thanks for being with us today. And Camille, 13:01 I appreciate you being with us as well. Now, 13:05 what we're going to do is we are going to ask you 13:08 not to do that experiment at home, okay. 13:10 Don't get it, don't take a deep breath and hold 13:12 it while you come up out of water, you got a have 13:14 your breath at the top and you can go down 13:16 and then you can comeback up again and you 13:19 will be just fine, but remember boys and girls, 13:21 whenever we learn more about science we are 13:23 learning more about our creator God. 13:39 Gentlemen are you new to the area? 13:42 Yes, we are, we're just travelers just passing through 13:45 Oh! Would you like a room for the night? 13:47 I can offer you one. We do need a room for the night. 13:51 Just a room, that's all we need. 13:53 Oh! Well, come with me, I'll take good care of you. 13:58 Come with me, right this way through the crowd. 14:03 Excuse us, excuse us. Okay, right this way. 14:15 We have to go, we have to go to Rehab's house, 14:16 that's where the report is. It's been five hour since 14:20 we've had anything to eat, I'm already getting hunger. 14:22 Oh! I'm starving. Gentlemen, are you hungry? 14:23 Oh! Yes. I got you some food? 14:26 Open up, open the door Rehab. 14:28 Thank you. Oh! Sir, just quick to the crowd, 14:31 they'll hide you, they'll hide you. 14:33 Open up, open the door. Oh! Man if they find us, 14:36 we're in trouble, come lets not wait here, quickly. 14:39 Open the door. I'm coming. Open the door. What is it? 14:45 It was reported to the King that you have spies 14:47 in your house. Spies, How am I suppose to know 14:49 they're spies. Well they'll be strange men that 14:51 you have never known before. 14:53 Okay, they were two strange men, 14:55 but they left by the gate and if 14:57 you hurry you can catch them. 14:59 It was reported to the King that you have spies 15:00 Come on let's go. They're gone, they're gone, 15:09 the soldiers are gone. Oh! Praise the Lord. 15:11 That was close, that was close. Thank you. 15:15 I know now who you are? You are spies for the 15:19 camp of Israel. Yeah, you are right. 15:22 And we know would that your God in this land, 15:24 we know what he has done for you. 15:26 Everyone knows about our God. How he has 15:28 delivered you from Egypt? How he parted the Red 15:31 Sea and you walked on dry land and what he did for 15:33 you to the two Kings of the Amorites, we know, 15:37 and our people here in this land are terrified of you. 15:40 And well, they should be. And we know, I know that 15:44 your God is going to deliver us into your hands. 15:48 So, I beg of you, I beg of you, please, please save me 15:56 and my father's house. You have saved us, 16:00 we will save you and your father's house. 16:03 We make this oath, we will save you and your family, 16:06 the whole brothers and sisters, but if you leave that 16:10 house when we attack they'll all be killed. 16:16 Stay in the house, they must come into the house, 16:18 alright, must be in this house, if they go out of the 16:20 door, their blood will be upon their own heads. 16:23 Alright. And if you tell anybody about this 16:26 arrangement the agreement's off. The agreement's off, 16:28 you tell no one. Okay, is that clear? Yeah, it's clear, 16:31 it's clear it's clear. Thank you, thank you very much. 16:35 Now, come with me, I know the way out. 16:41 Oh! You're heavy. Rehab, hang this scarlet over your 16:46 window, when the soldiers come, they'll know it's 16:49 your house and spare thee. Oh! Are you down? 16:53 I'm down. Go, quickly to the mountains and hide and 16:57 may you're God be with you. I know that their God 17:04 will save me and my family's house. Praise to 17:08 the name of the Lord. 19:48 Hi, boys and girls. It's time for Ms. Brenda's book 19:51 of the day. And today's book is called Escape 19:55 from Egypt by Bradley Booth and it's called, 19:59 it's says the Egyptian army is coming, the guards were 20:02 shouting excitedly and suddenly the whole camp was 20:05 in an uproar, it was like the world was coming 20:07 to an end and everybody knew it. Says, do you trust 20:10 God even in the bad times, let this story of God's 20:13 power and victory help you to always put your faith 20:16 and trust in him. And Bradley Booth is a wonderful 20:19 friend of Ms. Brenda's, in fact we went to the same 20:21 church for a while and he can sure write stories, 20:24 you are gonna want this book. I'm so excited 20:27 boys and girls because I want you to meet a very 20:30 special young man, his name is Nathaniel. 20:32 And Nathaniel thank you so much for being here 20:35 with us today. And let me ask you this, you watch 20:39 Kid's Time for a while now, right? Yes. 20:40 And I saw you, where did I see you? When we were 20:44 able to meet in person. Knoxville. In Knoxville, 20:47 that's right at, at my home church right? 20:50 And I asked you to be here today because you shared 20:52 something with Ms. Brenda that really touched my heart. 20:55 And you told me how, what caused you make the 21:00 decision to give your heart to Jesus, would you mind 21:02 sharing that with the boys and girls, what made you 21:04 decide to give your heart to Jesus and be baptized. 21:08 Well, I saw that, how the kids acted they were 21:14 good. The kids acted on Kid's Time, 'cause you 21:19 watched Kid's Time and you were watching Kid's Time 21:22 and you saw how the kids that come in and they were 21:24 on sharing time just like you're on sharing time 21:26 now and then what? They acted like they were 21:31 good kids and I want to be like that and also that 21:36 I saw that a time might come when I have a 21:39 chance to, so I wanted to do that. So you wanted to 21:43 make your decision right then, so because of Kid's 21:46 Time you made your decision for Jesus and that 21:48 that just touched my heart when, when Nathaniel 21:51 shared that with me, I just was like Oh! You know, 21:53 they are so many young, young men especially who 21:56 feel like they're too cool, it's not cool to love Jesus 21:59 and it is cool of the love Jesus, isn't it? 22:01 That's right and there is no greater joy than 22:03 serving Jesus. And you've done a lot to share Jesus; 22:06 you have a neighbor you want to tell me about your 22:08 neighbor. Well, one time me and my dad decide 22:15 to cut wood for our neighbors 'cause they're 22:18 hurt and that can't get the wood themselves, 22:21 so we decided to cut the wood and take it to their 22:25 place and stack them for them and it came out, 22:28 dad went to the hospital so. 'Cause your own dad 22:30 was sick, right? Yeah. And he's not doing very well, 22:33 so, so you had the responsibility fell on you. 22:36 Yeah. And did you still do that? Yes. And you have, 22:39 I understand you chopped the wood, 22:41 stack the wood, and then took it over in your 22:42 wheelbarrow, what did your neighbors say, 22:44 when you know, because your neighbor was disabled? 22:47 He was shocked. He was shocked! Yeah. I'm sure to 22:50 thank that a young man would take time, 22:52 usually people think you're off doing your own thing, 22:54 playing video games, doing things that you know 22:57 kids in the world are doing, but you were first hand 23:01 sharing Jesus. When we have an act of kindness 23:02 like that, that is a wonderful way to share 23:04 Jesus isn't it? You also did something that was a great 23:07 witnesses experience that I thought would be good 23:10 to share with the boys and girls, you helped your 23:12 mom makes some cupcakes. Yes. You tell me 23:13 about that. We makes some cupcakes and put them 23:17 in little Christmas baskets and we put Steps to 23:20 Christ and gave them to our neighbors as a 23:23 witnessing tool. What does it make you feel like 23:25 when you're out there knocking on that door 23:26 and you've got that gift for them? Well, it makes me 23:29 feel like Christ is appreciating what I'm doing 23:32 for him. He does too, 23:34 it really makes Jesus happy, 23:36 doesn't it, to share him. Never be ashamed to 23:38 witness for Jesus. Boys and girls, I wanna encourage 23:40 you never to be ashamed of witnessing for Jesus. 23:43 And if you are say I'm shy, I can't do that, 23:45 then you pray and ask Jesus to help you and he will, 23:48 isn't that right. Yes. And you also have a witness 23:51 to a friend, you invited them to watch Doug Bachelor 23:54 and the adventures for kids that aired on 3ABN. 23:56 And tell me what about the results of that? 23:59 Well, I got him into Kids Time and he said he 24:03 wanted a Bible, and he wanted to go through the 24:06 lessons. So, you could sign your friend up for 24:09 the Bible lessons. Isn't that awesome. 24:11 Boys and girls you can sign up to your own friends, 24:13 that's a wonderful way to share Jesus. 24:14 Invite your friends to join kids club and just 24:17 go to kidstimeforjesus.org, kidstimeforjesus.org 24:22 and you spell it with the number four or FOR either 24:24 way it doesn't matter and you click on kids club 24:27 and you can make the choice to the take the Bible 24:30 lessons online or in the mail.
