It's almost time for Kids Time, 00:00:01.98\00:00:03.03 we're gonna be late. 00:00:03.06\00:00:04.08 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:00:04.53\00:00:08.06 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:00:08.39\00:00:11.76 It's time to share there's a world out there; 00:00:12.17\00:00:15.99 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:16.02\00:00:19.43 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:20.05\00:00:23.54 Kids Time, kids Time, kids Time. 00:00:24.03\00:00:29.47 Hi, boys and girls, I heard a story once about a little 00:00:31.07\00:00:33.98 boy, who moved with his parents to another country 00:00:34.01\00:00:36.49 where his daddy had found a job. 00:00:36.52\00:00:38.18 Now the little boy was excited about going to a 00:00:38.68\00:00:40.70 new school and making new friends, but on his 00:00:40.73\00:00:43.81 first day school the other children make fun of 00:00:43.84\00:00:45.99 them and some of the boys even knocked him 00:00:46.02\00:00:47.95 over and they stole his lunch. It seemed like no 00:00:47.98\00:00:50.71 one wanted to be his friend, he was so lonely 00:00:50.74\00:00:53.47 and sad. Several of the other children were 00:00:53.50\00:00:55.99 friendly to him for a while. But they turned 00:00:56.02\00:00:58.27 against him too when their friends started 00:00:58.30\00:01:00.30 making fun of them, only one girl was brave 00:01:00.33\00:01:03.57 enough to ignore the sneers of the other 00:01:03.60\00:01:05.41 children and be that little boy's friend. She stood up 00:01:05.44\00:01:08.87 for him, when the other kids tease him and she sat 00:01:08.90\00:01:11.08 by him at lunch time and helped him understand 00:01:11.11\00:01:13.08 the school work. She was a true friend, today we 00:01:13.11\00:01:16.69 call that person a good Samaritan, but do you 00:01:16.72\00:01:19.58 know why it's because of a story Jesus told and 00:01:19.61\00:01:22.88 we're going to hear that story today I hope it will 00:01:22.91\00:01:26.19 make you want to be a good Samaritan too. 00:01:26.22\00:01:28.72 Well, right now let's get ready for Nature Time. 00:01:29.40\00:01:32.78 Hi, boys and girls welcome to Nature Time. 00:01:37.67\00:01:40.12 Boys and girls we're here in beautiful Western 00:01:40.75\00:01:42.32 Montana up in Glacier National Park. 00:01:42.35\00:01:44.48 And I'm very close right now to one of the most 00:01:44.51\00:01:47.10 beautiful creatures and talented creatures that 00:01:47.13\00:01:49.65 God ever created, the beautiful mountain goat, 00:01:49.68\00:01:52.82 now as you look down at her, this is a mother goat 00:01:53.23\00:01:56.28 and she has her little baby with her, little kid they 00:01:56.31\00:01:59.51 called him just like some of you and they are very 00:01:59.54\00:02:03.46 specially designed for this really high country where 00:02:03.49\00:02:05.73 we're at, we're over 6000 feet elevation right now. 00:02:05.76\00:02:08.52 In fact this goat is eating some grass here, they eat 00:02:09.00\00:02:12.84 grass. The daddy goat's just a little bit bigger than 00:02:12.87\00:02:15.64 this. You can see how her fur looks like, it's kind of 00:02:15.67\00:02:18.57 fallen off a little bit or it's shedding out. 00:02:18.60\00:02:21.09 She spends her entire winter way up here, high 00:02:21.36\00:02:24.75 up in these, up in these rocky slopes where the 00:02:24.78\00:02:28.64 wind and the ice and snow is and so in order to 00:02:28.94\00:02:33.18 stay warm she needs a really thick coat of fur. 00:02:33.21\00:02:35.82 But, now it's July, it's almost 80 degrees out 00:02:36.16\00:02:38.72 here and it's too warm for that thick, thick coat of 00:02:38.75\00:02:41.60 fur and so she's shading that off and she should 00:02:41.63\00:02:44.56 just get that all shed off nicely and she look all 00:02:44.59\00:02:47.47 slick and pretty and then winter is gonna set in 00:02:47.50\00:02:50.12 again and she will have to grow it back. Now, boys 00:02:50.15\00:02:52.43 and girls one of the thing that's most awesome 00:02:52.46\00:02:53.86 about this goat, she is not actually a goat, she is a 00:02:53.89\00:02:56.40 goat antelope. Goats have a little beard that hangs 00:02:56.43\00:03:01.00 from their chin, mountain goats have beard they 00:03:01.03\00:03:03.43 hangs from their throat and also she is called a 00:03:03.46\00:03:06.36 goat antelope because their horns are not 00:03:06.39\00:03:08.38 actually a goat's horn. A goat's horn has many 00:03:08.41\00:03:10.93 ridges, you've seen goats, domestic goats they have 00:03:10.96\00:03:14.11 the ridges on their horns. Her horns are very, very 00:03:14.14\00:03:16.51 smooth and they don't sleep back or curl like a 00:03:16.54\00:03:19.25 true goat, this is actually a goat antelope. 00:03:19.28\00:03:22.32 Now, one of the most amazing features about 00:03:22.83\00:03:24.19 the goat, a mountain goat is her feet, her feet on the 00:03:24.22\00:03:27.04 outside are very, very hard that's for gripping 00:03:27.07\00:03:30.65 rock and for getting good traction on that rock, 00:03:30.68\00:03:34.29 she needs a real soft sole and so while it's very hard 00:03:34.50\00:03:38.51 on the outside of the foot it's very soft and rubbery 00:03:38.88\00:03:41.70 on the inside of the foot. One of the most beautiful 00:03:42.08\00:03:44.34 things about Glacier National Park is that 00:03:44.37\00:03:46.07 young people can come up, you see that I'm on a 00:03:46.10\00:03:48.60 walkway. In fact right here we have some 00:03:48.63\00:03:50.20 children that are up here with their family, their 00:03:50.23\00:03:52.89 mommy and daddy, they're enjoy a vocation 00:03:52.92\00:03:54.72 in Glacier National Park, you can come right down 00:03:55.16\00:03:57.45 here, come on down here to Ranger Rod, would 00:03:57.48\00:03:58.91 you like to come down and visit with me for a 00:03:58.94\00:04:00.15 minute. I have very close to this beautiful goat, 00:04:00.18\00:04:02.22 how are you darling, what's your name? Petra. 00:04:02.58\00:04:05.36 Petra, beautiful name look at this beautiful goat, 00:04:05.51\00:04:08.44 she won't hurt you as long as Ranger Rod's here 00:04:08.76\00:04:10.32 come on, come over here by me, look at their 00:04:10.35\00:04:12.12 beautiful golden hair, your almost the same 00:04:12.15\00:04:14.28 color as that beautiful goat isn't that beautiful. 00:04:14.31\00:04:16.75 Amazing do you know that Jesus made these 00:04:17.60\00:04:19.96 goats for us to enjoy, where is the mommy? 00:04:19.99\00:04:21.67 This is the mommy, this is the mommy, both 00:04:21.89\00:04:23.79 mommies and daddies have horns, look at the 00:04:23.82\00:04:26.40 little baby have you seen that little tiny baby? 00:04:26.43\00:04:28.31 Do you know that after just one day that little 00:04:28.65\00:04:31.63 baby can climb these rocks just as well as the 00:04:31.66\00:04:34.68 mommy can, and they keep them very close to 00:04:34.71\00:04:37.26 them, aren't they beautiful? Aren't you 00:04:37.29\00:04:39.79 glad that Jesus made something like that for us 00:04:39.82\00:04:41.55 to enjoy way up here in Glacier National Park? 00:04:41.58\00:04:44.02 I'm sure glad, well boys and girls until next time 00:04:44.55\00:04:48.13 this is Ranger Rod, let's all keep on enjoying 00:04:48.32\00:04:51.35 God's great outdoors. 00:04:51.38\00:04:53.10 Welcome to Learning Time, I'm glad that you've 00:07:28.34\00:07:30.52 joined us today and we've got a couple of very 00:07:30.55\00:07:32.59 special helpers today. I have got Ashley over 00:07:32.62\00:07:34.94 here and Ashley where are you from? Bermuda, 00:07:34.97\00:07:37.44 Bermuda that's a long way away, isn't it? 00:07:37.47\00:07:39.28 And you went by boat? No, by an Airplane, by 00:07:39.31\00:07:44.41 Airplane yeah we can travel fast in Airplane 00:07:44.44\00:07:46.51 today we're gonna talk about traveling and oh! 00:07:46.54\00:07:48.69 I've got Branden over here, and Branden where 00:07:48.72\00:07:50.43 are you from? Johnston City, Illinois, Johnston 00:07:50.46\00:07:52.44 City, Illinois, you're pretty close aren't you? 00:07:52.47\00:07:54.06 Yeah. Well, today we're gonna do an experiment 00:07:54.09\00:07:56.09 that looks like a classical experiment and I have a 00:07:56.12\00:07:58.28 little piece of paper over here and let's take this 00:07:58.31\00:08:00.82 paper and I'm gonna give this to Ashley, I'm gonna 00:08:00.85\00:08:02.56 have Ashley just drop it, what do you suppose a 00:08:02.59\00:08:05.24 piece of paper would do if you just drop it, will it 00:08:05.27\00:08:07.67 fly up in the air or will it? No, well shall we find 00:08:07.70\00:08:10.40 out, let's give Ashley a count down 3, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1 00:08:10.43\00:08:15.37 and drop the piece of paper and it just kind of 00:08:15.40\00:08:18.02 floats and drips to the ground doesn't it? Yeah, 00:08:18.05\00:08:20.41 now why does it do that? Well, because there's air 00:08:20.44\00:08:23.24 right and that piece of paper rides on a cushion 00:08:23.27\00:08:26.20 of air and goes down, but I've got something that's 00:08:26.23\00:08:28.57 not a piece of paper however its got lots of 00:08:28.60\00:08:31.23 piece papers in it and its a book, its a text book. 00:08:31.26\00:08:33.98 So, Branden I'm gonna hand this to you. 00:08:34.26\00:08:36.17 Now Branden's gonna drop this, will it go down 00:08:36.24\00:08:39.08 to the floor like the paper did. No, well let's find out 00:08:39.11\00:08:42.23 a little count down 3, 2, 1 and drop, goes right 00:08:42.26\00:08:47.43 straight to the ground you know there was a 00:08:47.46\00:08:49.16 classical experiment that was done on the moon 00:08:49.19\00:08:51.75 and it was an Apollo moon shot and we had a 00:08:51.95\00:08:55.13 commander up there on that Apollo and Apollo, 00:08:55.16\00:08:57.90 his name was David Scott and David Scott did an 00:08:57.93\00:09:00.68 experiment, in one hand he had a geological 00:09:00.71\00:09:03.77 hammer and that's kind of heavy right hammers are, 00:09:03.80\00:09:06.24 and in the other hand he had a feather, a feather 00:09:06.61\00:09:09.64 isn't that interesting? And he drops them at the 00:09:09.67\00:09:11.52 same time, what do you suppose happened? 00:09:11.55\00:09:14.00 They just floated down, they floated down at the 00:09:14.97\00:09:18.22 same rate didn't they? At the same time a feather 00:09:18.25\00:09:20.64 and a hammer, okay let's try to do this, I'm gonna 00:09:20.67\00:09:23.27 have my book in my hand, we're gonna put the 00:09:23.30\00:09:25.04 piece of paper on top and the book is going to get 00:09:25.07\00:09:27.66 rid of the air okay because it's really heavy 00:09:27.69\00:09:30.82 and let's find out if they're going to hit the ground 00:09:31.00\00:09:33.60 at the same time or if they're gonna float around 00:09:33.63\00:09:35.82 what do you think is gonna happen to the 00:09:35.85\00:09:36.85 paper Ashley? Float. Paper will float like it did 00:09:36.88\00:09:40.31 before and what's gonna happened to the paper 00:09:40.34\00:09:42.25 do you think? I think that it's gonna just go down 00:09:42.28\00:09:44.58 with the book. Shall we try it, yes, okay 00:09:44.61\00:09:46.22 everybody count down, lets drop it, 3, 2, 1 and 00:09:46.25\00:09:50.48 did it drop at the same time? Yes, it drop at the 00:09:51.76\00:09:54.14 same time because we got rid of a lot of the air, 00:09:54.17\00:09:57.20 the atmosphere, that's what happened on the 00:09:57.23\00:09:59.33 moon, the hammer dropped at the same rate 00:09:59.36\00:10:01.55 and the same speed as the feather isn't that 00:10:01.58\00:10:04.32 interesting and you know we work with that all 00:10:04.35\00:10:07.63 day along because we fight the air, the air 00:10:07.66\00:10:10.12 pushes us back. How many of you ever 00:10:10.15\00:10:11.71 ridden in a car? Or some kind of vehicle that's 00:10:11.74\00:10:14.08 right, it nearly takes about three fourths of all of the 00:10:14.11\00:10:16.49 energy for our vehicles to go through the 00:10:16.52\00:10:19.22 atmosphere, to go through the air. So, you know 00:10:19.25\00:10:22.36 what if we've gotten rid of all the air then we 00:10:22.39\00:10:24.85 could go through the atmosphere a lot of 00:10:24.88\00:10:26.53 quicker wouldn't that be great? Yes, that be 00:10:26.56\00:10:28.29 a problem though wouldn't it. We couldn't breathe 00:10:28.32\00:10:30.39 and that would be a bad news thing, we have to 00:10:30.42\00:10:32.09 carry oxygen when we went on a ride. 00:10:32.12\00:10:33.84 It wouldn't be a good idea would it, not really, no. 00:10:34.17\00:10:36.29 When God created an atmosphere on planet 00:10:37.10\00:10:39.02 earth could the astronauts from Apollo, could they 00:10:39.05\00:10:41.27 live on the moon without air? No, no, they can't 00:10:41.30\00:10:44.86 breathe because there is no atmosphere. 00:10:44.89\00:10:46.83 God prepared planet earth for a very special place, 00:10:46.86\00:10:50.22 we have air, we have oxygen and we can live, 00:10:50.25\00:10:52.23 we can breathe isn't that cool? Yeah, well I think 00:10:52.26\00:10:55.06 so too, so two objects falling through air do 00:10:55.09\00:10:59.39 different things don't they? Yes, the paper 00:10:59.42\00:11:01.64 floated because it just was kind of like a kite wasn't it? 00:11:01.67\00:11:04.85 It just push it all around and this one fell 00:11:05.61\00:11:07.82 right straight to the ground. But if we put 00:11:07.85\00:11:09.90 them together we got rid of the atmosphere isn't 00:11:09.93\00:11:12.06 that great? Yes, now boys and girls every 00:11:12.09\00:11:14.46 time we learn more about science, we're 00:11:14.49\00:11:16.59 learning more about our creator God. 00:11:16.62\00:11:19.67 I think I would like, get away, she's a Samaritan. 00:11:25.67\00:11:36.23 Why are you helping me? Why are you helping me? 00:11:36.26\00:11:38.86 Why are you helping me? No, why are you touching 00:11:39.64\00:11:42.11 me? I'm a Samaritan, the people don't like me. 00:11:42.14\00:11:45.93 If it wasn't for a Samaritan my child 00:11:46.15\00:11:49.04 would not even have a father. What? I would not 00:11:49.07\00:11:52.30 have a husband, I would be wearing black, 00:11:52.33\00:11:54.37 I would be a widow. What are you talking 00:11:54.40\00:11:56.31 about? Would you like to hear my story? 00:11:56.34\00:11:59.06 I would like to hear your story. My husband got up 00:12:00.34\00:12:04.96 for early one morning and you know it's quite a 00:12:04.99\00:12:06.81 treacherous road over to Jericho. Yes, I know that, 00:12:06.84\00:12:09.81 and there's spots there, were places in the trial 00:12:09.84\00:12:14.40 where robbers hide and it's very, very dangerous. 00:12:14.43\00:12:17.55 Well, my husband was coming up to one of this 00:12:18.04\00:12:19.97 part, it was kind of took him by surprise because 00:12:20.00\00:12:23.14 usually he has to be careful you know when 00:12:23.17\00:12:25.51 a spot further up the road but as he was going 00:12:25.54\00:12:28.92 along, all of a sudden from behind he was 00:12:28.95\00:12:31.12 attacked and he was thrown to the ground. 00:12:31.15\00:12:33.72 His clothes were ripped off of him and it is kind 00:12:33.75\00:12:37.84 of hard for my daughter to hear this but it's okay 00:12:37.87\00:12:39.94 honey, daddy's safe, okay. I'm so sorry and 00:12:39.97\00:12:44.06 they started cutting him and beating him and he 00:12:44.09\00:12:47.95 was and they took his clothes, they took all his 00:12:47.98\00:12:50.47 money, all the money that we had that he was 00:12:50.50\00:12:52.72 taking to Jericho. To buy supplies for us, they took 00:12:52.75\00:12:56.74 it all and so, I'm sorry, he lay beside the road and 00:12:56.77\00:13:01.13 all at once he heard somebody walking by 00:13:01.16\00:13:03.67 and he could just see out of the corner of his eye, 00:13:04.07\00:13:06.62 it was a Priest and the Priest didn't even look, 00:13:06.65\00:13:10.90 the Priest just gave him a glance and kept on going. 00:13:10.93\00:13:14.01 And the Priest kept on going, the Priest kept on 00:13:15.26\00:13:18.01 going and then after he laid at there for a while 00:13:18.04\00:13:20.82 longer, a Levi came along, now surely I would 00:13:20.85\00:13:24.51 have thought that a Levi would help him, because 00:13:24.54\00:13:26.64 you know we give offerings all the time, 00:13:26.94\00:13:30.44 we take it to the temple and we are good Jewish people. 00:13:30.47\00:13:34.25 We try to follow every tradition possible. 00:13:34.81\00:13:37.42 I'm sure a Levi would help, he came over and 00:13:38.28\00:13:40.86 looked at him and then he heard him mutter. 00:13:40.89\00:13:43.27 I wish I had even looked at him and he turned and 00:13:45.19\00:13:47.87 left and my husband was just laying there and he 00:13:47.90\00:13:50.98 was bleeding and he was bruised and he didn't 00:13:51.01\00:13:53.80 know what to do and he started to get, were it was 00:13:53.83\00:13:56.08 evening, and then he heard a donkey coming 00:13:56.11\00:13:58.77 and he thought oh! No, they are coming to finish 00:13:58.80\00:14:02.23 me off and he was so sad and he was crying and 00:14:02.26\00:14:06.75 weeping and all of a sudden. He felt a hand 00:14:06.78\00:14:10.36 touch him and say its okay I'm here to help you, 00:14:10.39\00:14:15.52 don't worry I will take care of you. 00:14:17.51\00:14:19.70 He got some ointment, she loves this part. 00:14:20.66\00:14:24.93 He got some ointment, he put it on his wounds, 00:14:25.74\00:14:29.14 he bandaged him up and then he took the coat off 00:14:30.50\00:14:33.90 his own back and put it on him. And if that wasn't 00:14:33.93\00:14:36.88 enough, he took him very carefully, because my 00:14:36.91\00:14:40.30 husband was in a lot of pain and put him on his 00:14:40.33\00:14:43.43 donkey and then walked beside him and when they 00:14:43.46\00:14:47.05 got to Jericho, he got to the Inn. 00:14:47.08\00:14:49.44 What's the matter, I'm sorry, what's the matter 00:14:49.82\00:14:51.67 ma'am. I know the rest of the story, but it's my 00:14:51.70\00:14:55.85 husband that this happened to, how could 00:14:55.88\00:14:57.53 you know the rest of the story? Because my 00:14:57.56\00:15:00.40 husband who was the good Samaritan. 00:15:00.43\00:15:03.68 It was her husband is the one that saved your father. 00:15:06.21\00:15:09.87 He's a good man, he took your husband and he was 00:15:11.68\00:15:17.45 so bleeding and cut and bruised and his 00:15:17.48\00:15:21.25 leg was so bad. I know his leg was hurt bad 00:15:21.28\00:15:25.01 and my husband bandaged it. 00:15:25.04\00:15:26.92 And he stayed with him one night and he wanted 00:15:26.95\00:15:31.78 to stay with him longer, he really did. 00:15:31.81\00:15:33.92 But he had to go, he had a meeting, he had to leave. 00:15:34.92\00:15:39.55 But he couldn't just leave him there was no one to 00:15:40.52\00:15:43.08 help him and so he gave money to the innkeeper 00:15:43.11\00:15:47.12 and he asked the innkeeper, he said please take care of 00:15:47.67\00:15:51.18 this man for me and I will pay you whatever cost, 00:15:51.21\00:15:55.45 it doesn't matter what it cost I will pay you. 00:15:55.48\00:15:57.70 And he said and let him stay here until he gets well. 00:15:58.42\00:16:01.76 And he said when I comeback from my 00:16:02.43\00:16:04.67 business trip if he needs help, if he still, if it costs 00:16:04.70\00:16:10.24 more I will pay you more. He wanted to help him, 00:16:10.27\00:16:15.55 oh! Thank you and he is a good man you know. 00:16:16.78\00:16:19.47 I believe it, our own Priest wouldn't help, 00:16:20.14\00:16:23.08 the Levi wouldn't help, but your husband the 00:16:23.24\00:16:26.00 Samaritan helped. We're gonna celebrate tonight, 00:16:26.03\00:16:29.79 you are?
