00:01 It's almost time for Kids time, we gonna
00:03 be late. It's time to share there's a world 00:07 out there, looking for a friend like Jesus. It's 00:12 time to share there's a world out there; let's 00:16 tell them that He loves us so. Let's tell 00:20 them that He loves us so. Kids Time, Kids 00:26 Time, Kids Time. Hi, boys and girls 00:31 have you ever sat in a restaurant and 00:33 accidentally overheard the 00:34 conversation at the table next to you. 00:36 Sometimes people say the most interesting 00:39 things when they don't know someone 00:40 else is listening. Listening into 00:42 someone else's conversation when 00:44 they don't know about it is called 00:45 eavesdropping and actually it's not a 00:47 polite thing to do at all, but sometimes 00:49 people talk so loudly you can't help but 00:52 hear what they're saying. My daddy 00:54 always says if you can't say something 00:56 nice then don't say anything at all and 00:58 that's pretty good advice. 01:00 Well, today we're going to do a little 01:02 eavesdropping right here in Kids Time not 01:04 at a restaurant but at the busy market place. 01:07 And this time it's okay to listen, we'll 01:10 hear some men tell how they saw Jesus 01:12 perform miracles and what a difference it 01:14 made in their lives are you ready? Me too, 01:17 hey Max, are you ready? Max is ready. 01:20 Let's get ready for nature time. 01:27 Hi boys and girls, welcome to nature 01:30 time. You know right now we're all here in 01:32 beautiful Western Montana, in fact 01:34 incredibly enough we're in Glacier 01:36 National Park. And we were just coming 01:38 along this beautiful road, looking at the 01:40 gorgeous mountain and the scenery and 01:42 right here at a roadside pool, we 01:45 found one of the most incredible creatures 01:47 that God ever created. And not because he's 01:50 so big, not because he's so little but he is 01:53 so special because he can sleep more than 01:56 half of the year and still wake up in the 01:58 Spring. Oh! He's incredible, he is the 02:01 ground squirrel. Now, there are many, many 02:03 different kinds of ground squirrels in 02:06 North America. Well, one of them 02:07 especially the one that lives here in Glacier 02:10 National Park is especially adopted for 02:12 high elevations and he lives, if you can see 02:15 him out here behind me. He is moving 02:16 around, you might think that because you 02:18 can see snow that, that it's winter time, 02:21 but it's not. This is the middle of the 02:23 summer, this is his little chance to get out 02:26 and get a little grass, they eat grass. They 02:29 eat bugs, they eat little, little branches 02:32 off these low trees, they will eat the buds 02:35 off from the glacier lilies and they try to 02:38 store up some fat. Now, one thing that 02:41 they do is they live underground and so 02:43 they dig their burrow about two feet deep, 02:46 about 15 feet long, they make their little 02:48 nest in there, out of grass and little, little 02:52 sticks things they have taken and there 02:53 they make their nest and they live in that. 02:55 And they sleep in there all winter long. 02:57 Now, one of their predators, one of the 03:00 problems that they have is that they have 03:01 many predators, the badger, the fox, 03:04 hawks, eagles, bears will dig them up and 03:08 so they have to always be on the look 03:09 out. You may have noticed, one of these 03:11 little ground squirrels standing up, they sit 03:13 up on their hind, on their little hind feet 03:16 and they look all around. Now, that's 03:19 not enough defense and so God created 03:21 them so they would live in a family unit. 03:25 Kind of like you live in your family unit 03:27 and they all look out for each other, when 03:30 someone one sees some danger he lets 03:32 out a little chirp and all the rest scurry into 03:35 their holes. Hopefully away from danger, the 03:38 greatest predator though that the little 03:39 ground squirrel has is time, winter. While, 03:43 while he puts on almost twice his body 03:46 weight in fat, some times on a long 03:48 winter, a harsh winter that's not enough to 03:51 get him all the way through and so up to 03:53 93 percent of ground squirrels perish during 03:56 the winter because of the cold and you can 03:59 imagine that up here in Glacier National 04:01 Park. He has to go to bed in mid September 04:05 when the snow starts to cover the ground 04:07 here and he can't wake up and get out 04:09 and find this, the food that he needs until 04:12 often times middle of May. Amazingly it's 04:15 the middle of the summer here and he is 04:17 just now appearing in some of these areas in 04:19 fact this snow here could cover actually 04:21 some of the dens, some of these ground 04:23 squirrels may still be under snow I don't 04:25 know, it's an amazing thing that God has 04:28 created a creature that can survive all the 04:31 way through the winter, how he sleeps, 04:33 how he hibernates, how his heart rate 04:35 slows way down. How his respiration 04:38 his breaths, slow all the way down to 04:39 almost one for six minutes, it's an 04:42 incredible thing. God has created a creature 04:45 to do that. Now, boys and girls if Jesus 04:47 loves these little creatures enough to 04:48 help them through their time of trial, 04:50 through their time of hardship. Don't you 04:52 think that Jesus will take care of you 04:55 during hardships and trails. I believe that he 04:57 will, with all my heart he's helped me many 04:59 times and he will be there for you. Boys 05:02 and girls until next time this is Ranger 05:04 Rod saying let's all enjoy God's great 05:07 outdoors. 05:21 O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder 05:29 consider all the works thy hands have made, 05:37 I see the stars, I hear the roaring thunder, 05:45 thy power throughout the universe displayed. 05:53 [Foreign language] 06:27 Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, 06:35 How great Thou art, How great Thou art. 06:44 Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to thee, 06:52 How great Thou art, How great Thou art! 07:02 One day their soul run high up the stars. 07:22 Welcome to learning time, I am glad that 07:24 you are here today. You know today we 07:26 are gonna be looking at something that's 07:28 really kind of special, it's something that we 07:30 all have and it is called a sense of 07:33 touch. Can you touch things? Yeah. Oh! 07:36 Yeah me too, but you know wouldn't it be 07:37 interesting instead of touching with our 07:39 hands if, if we had better touch maybe 07:42 with our elbow, would that be 07:44 interesting. Yes. Yeah, then you would 07:45 say feel how smooth that table is, that be 07:49 cool, go around feelings. But you 07:50 know we don't feel things with our 07:52 elbows do we? No. No, well today we 07:54 have got a special experiment and I have 07:56 got three special helpers and let's see 07:58 who they are? I've got Cameron over here. 08:00 Now Cameron, do you like science? 08:02 Yeah. What do you like to do best about 08:04 science? Mechanics. Mechanics, that's 08:07 interesting isn't it. Well thanks for being 08:09 here. And I've got Diane over here and 08:12 Diane, thanks for being with us and 08:13 what you like most about science, what 08:15 do you like to do? Play with the stuff. 08:19 Play with the stuff, do experiments? Do you 08:21 like experiments? Okay, well this today 08:23 is going to be a great experiment you're 08:24 gonna help us and I've got Georgia over 08:25 there. Now, Georgia thanks for being with 08:28 us and what do you like to read most 08:30 about science? When you're reading about 08:31 science stuff? Experiments. Experiments, I love to 08:34 read about experiments. Well, 08:35 why don't you all three come up here 08:37 because we have got some things up here 08:38 on the table and just come behind my table 08:41 and I have got these little things right here, 08:43 what are these? Hair pins. They're hair pins 08:46 or bobby pins, that's right. Now, I don't use 08:48 them but you know we're gonna use these 08:50 now, you can use a paper clip if you 08:53 want, but I like this because they have a 08:55 nice protected point on them. Now, 08:58 Cameron, I want you to put your hand out 08:59 here and your arm out here. And these have 09:02 two points right one, two. You got it, now I 09:05 am going to put this on Cameron's hand 09:07 and I wanted you tell me if two of those 09:10 points are touching your hand or one, 09:11 what do you think? Two. Two, okay, 09:14 that's right they was two points, he can 09:16 feel those because he has receptors in his 09:18 hands to test, to test pressure. Alright, now 09:22 how about that now if I put one of them on 09:24 there, you feel one? Yes. Well we are 09:28 gonna find out there if we can really tell the 09:29 difference between one point or two 09:32 points, and Diana, I want you to do this 09:34 experiment on Georgia and I am 09:36 gonna do this even on Cameron. And 09:37 Cameron you let me know what you can, 09:39 how what you can feel? Now, but you 09:41 have to close your eyes Georgia, okay, 09:43 don't cheat. Cameron ones you close your 09:44 eyes too and lets check this out okay. 09:47 Cameron you let me know how many 09:48 points are touching. You got your eyes 09:50 closed. Okay now this is how many points I 09:53 am going to use, here we go, lets check this 09:54 out. Two. Two and Cameron was right. 09:57 Let's do this again this time I am going to do 09:59 this many points, keep your eyes closed and 10:02 one. One, he was right a hundred percent of 10:05 the time. Now, what I am going to do is I am 10:07 going to go up his arm and as we go up 10:10 our arm we have less pressure, sensitive 10:12 cells and he's gonna get it wrong part of 10:15 the time maybe. Okay, how did she 10:16 do? Oh! We haven't. Oh! Well okay. We'll 10:19 give it a try, okay and you know what, I've 10:21 got a couple of people out here they have 10:23 some bobby pins, why don't you pick 10:25 somebody next to you and check their arm in 10:27 their hand out too. Cameron, are you 10:29 ready? Keep your eyes closed and how 10:31 many points are touching two, two, 10:33 that's exactly right now how many points 10:35 are touching now Cameron. One. One, 10:38 you know what Cameron just missed 10:40 it because I have two points touching and as 10:43 the further up we go on up in our arm the 10:46 less pressure and the less sensitive our arm 10:50 gets. Isn't that interesting, how are 10:52 they doing out there? How is Georgia 10:54 doing, did she miss any? One, she just 10:56 missed one time, did she miss the ones that 10:59 were coming up her arm, yeah because we 11:01 just don't feel things as well as our hands. 11:04 You know when we are, when we are 11:06 really young we have better sense of touch 11:09 and as you get older like me you tend to 11:11 lose some of your sense of touch, did 11:13 you know that? Interesting isn't it, 11:16 well God gave us the pressure sensitive 11:18 cells in our bodies and especially our hands 11:20 because we use our hands everyday to 11:22 pick up things and to make things and you 11:25 know what, sometimes people do 11:27 surgery on us, right, like surgeons and they 11:29 have to do very delicate things with 11:31 their hands. I am glad that God gave us the 11:34 sense of touch. Well, remember boys and 11:36 girls whenever we learn more about 11:39 science, we learn more about our 11:41 creator God. 11:49 So, what's been happening in the 11:51 temple, I've been hearing that there is 11:52 lot of things happening in the temple? You haven't 11:54 heard what happened to the temple. Well, 11:55 not recently. Just as the lot of things, do 11:57 you want the short version or the long 11:58 version? The temple got emptied out 11:59 yesterday, they did not. Tell him what 12:01 happened. Jesus have you heard that name? 12:04 Oh! Yes I know Jesus. Jesus was in the temple and my 12:08 brother and I were in there and all of a 12:10 sudden Zedek, do you know Zedek? Oh I've 12:12 heard about him. Zedek. Good day, 12:14 have a seat, good day, good day, good day to 12:18 you, God bless you. Beautiful day today. 12:20 Yes it is, beautiful day. Nice market, 12:22 nice carrots. Good to see you. Come back 12:27 soon. So anyway get this, Zedek comes 12:32 running through the temple, you know 12:34 what his problem was? Tell him 12:35 Nazareth, well he's been messing around 12:38 with the, I don't like to talk about Satan, 12:40 Satan worship. Oh well, that's a bad thing 12:43 to do. He comes squalling at the top of 12:46 his lungs then he comes right up to 12:48 Jesus, stops right there. Yes Jesus, 12:52 Jesus doesn't blink a eye. Jesus has this 12:54 nice, nice calm expression, he wasn't 12:57 afraid of him? No, never. Wow. I would 13:00 have run, Zedek, Zedek is demon 13:02 possessed, that I know that's why I would 13:04 have run. Not Jesus. Jesus came to cast out 13:07 the demons. And he loves everyone, he 13:11 looked at Zedek and he said come out and 13:17 immediately Zedek falls over him, he fell 13:20 over. We thought he was died right there in 13:21 the temple. Oh he wasn't, he was live, 13:24 Jesus picked him up, his eyes had the eyes 13:31 of a, how would describe his eyes. The 13:35 thing of it is the eyes, the demons were 13:38 gone, he had all of a sudden for the first 13:41 time in his life spiritual sight. Just 13:43 like that, He could see Jesus and who Jesus 13:46 was, he is, that's the son of God. He never 13:49 seen a pharisee, any religious leader do 13:51 this. All they do is maintain the 13:54 traditions, lets keep things the way they 13:55 are, Jesus is just such a breath of fresh air. 13:58 Jesus speaks of love and compassion and 14:02 care and he speaks with authority, 14:05 authority and he speaks love, and he 14:06 has love, I have never heard a pharisee 14:09 speak like this man. What about the 14:11 children, does he love them? Oh the children 14:13 they would come up, sit on his lap, no 14:16 pharisee, good day pharisees, have you 14:19 seen the carrots. Yes, hey, how are doing? 14:22 So do you got carrots at home. Good 14:25 carrots, I love them. Good to see you, 14:27 good to see you, yes have a good day. 14:28 Though I love temperature, nice 14:31 weather too. I never seen one walk so slow 14:34 in my life. I'm anxious to hear what 14:38 happened, tell me what happened next. 14:40 Well, well I don't know they are so 14:42 many different demon possession stories that 14:44 are reminding me of the one where they 14:46 were two demon possessed guys, Jesus 14:48 send the demons into the pigs. Who are 14:51 these two guys. Pigs ran into the water and 14:55 drowned themselves. All the pigs, they ran 14:57 into the water. All the pigs? All the pigs. 14:59 Well, the farmers go back to the town with 15:01 the pig news. And of course what 15:03 happened, they asked Jesus to leave. 15:05 Nothing locks Jesus nothing, nothing. We 15:08 serve Jesus, Jesus, get this is the exact 15:12 character and has the exact character as 15:15 God. So, when you see Jesus, you see 15:18 God. Did we ever get that picture of God 15:20 before Jesus? Never. You don't get that 15:22 from the pharisees and the priests. You 15:25 have to remember something special 15:26 about Jesus. He was so special, he thinks 15:29 that everyone on this planet is special. 15:32 Everyone? He spent the whole afternoon 15:36 with a Samaritan. Samaritan? Yes, and 15:40 he just continued to talk with her, she 15:42 went into the town, brought back the 15:44 whole village, they all heard what Jesus had 15:46 to say, he talks with everyone like we're 15:49 all equal. Equal, all people equal. Yes. 15:52 Never a man, I never met a man like a 15:54 Jesus. Yes. Well, Zedek then he said, 15:59 Jesus tell me about God. Yes. And once 16:04 you ask Jesus who loves to talk about 16:07 God. He continued to talk about the 16:10 kingdom of God that is on this earth. Right, 16:13 this earth. You hear so many things about 16:15 God that the pharisees and scribes talk about, 16:20 but that's not the way God is at all. Now, 16:22 are you sure? Well, when I look at Jesus, 16:26 Jesus says he is a son of God. Yes, yes, I 16:29 believe that Jesus is a son of God. Oh yes, 16:31 you've met him so you know. We met 16:33 Jesus and he even said this once, if you've 16:37 seen me, you've seen the father. If the 16:44 pharisees here him say that, oh they, 16:46 they, just say that was blasphemy and they 16:48 would, they would stone him to death. 16:50 Listen these children keep reminding me of 16:54 how Jesus dealt with them. There was a 16:56 day once where the mothers were 16:58 bringing their children to Jesus. Yes. The 17:01 disciples, they looked like total jerks, the 17:04 disciples go don't bother the rabbi with 17:07 the children. Jesus says. The way the 17:09 pharisees do. Oh yeah, exactly. That's 17:12 my point. Jesus' eyes contacted those 17:14 disciples and he said don't you stop those 17:18 little children from coming to me. 17:21 Disciples were just, that is love. See we 17:27 have to realize our children are the next 17:29 generation, they've got to know about 17:32 God. They've got to know who is Jesus. 17:33 Yes. So, Jesus wants not just the children, 17:36 Jesus wants everyone to come to him, to 17:39 know him. We could talk to all afternoon 17:42 about stories about Jesus, who's been 17:45 going around the towns just loving 17:48 accepting. Oh this one, remember this 17:50 one, a woman caught in the active adultery. 17:53 Caught in the act. Did they stone her, oh 17:55 they were going to, and look what Jesus 17:58 did. Jesus stoops down, starts writing in 18:02 the sand. Writing in the sand? Yes. Why 18:05 did he do that? Tell him, what we're 18:08 trying to say is Jesus doesn't want us to 18:10 condemn anybody, we've all sinned have 18:13 we not? Well, yeah, Jesus wants to accept 18:15 us all and forgive us all. To God and Jesus 18:18 sin is sin. Yes and from oldest to 18:21 youngest, the religious leaders 18:23 looked down, I guess he was writing their 18:24 sins in the sand. He started leaving. And 18:28 then this girl is waiting for the stone 18:30 to be thrown at her. No one threw. No 18:31 one, and then Jesus says go ahead, where 18:36 are you condemners? she says no one here 18:42 Lord and then Lord, listen now, listen to 18:45 this point, do you know the reason they 18:47 didn't stone her. Why? They couldn't 18:49 stone because see they had sinned too. 18:52 We've all sinned and he said you without 18:55 the first, sin cast a stone. Oh I see, Jesus 18:59 accepts everyone, I am so pleased, we've 19:02 got to go ahead in a minute. But I'm so 19:03 pleased that we've been able to watch 19:06 him, I wanted to just study his life, I wanna 19:08 do what he says, I wanna be like Jesus. I 19:12 want to; I have to meet him because I 19:13 want to be like that too. That's sound like 19:16 a, he is a tremendous person. Listen please 19:19 tell everybody that you meet the stories 19:22 we told you. I'm going to, I'm gonna 19:24 share them. Everyone needs to be a follower 19:27 of Jesus. Oh! Praise God. Well, thank you 19:29 very much, thank you for telling me. God 19:32 bless, have a good day. Don't you love 19:33 telling his stories, just to reminisce, it just 19:37 brings the story alive and they're sending 19:39 you back, I pray for everybody. 20:00 You are my strength when I am weak 20:03 You are the treasure that I seek 20:07 You are my all in all Seeking You as a 20:15 precious jewel Lord, to give up I'd be a fool 20:20 You are my all in all Jesus, Lamb of God 20:32 Holy is Your name Jesus, Lamb of God 20:45 Holy is Your name. 21:12 Hi boys an girls, it's time for Ms. Brenda's 21:15 book of the day, and today exciting book is 21:19 this called Octopus Encounter and its by 21:21 Sally Streib. Suddenly, something 21:24 red hurtled right at Susan. Splat! It hit her 21:29 mask and hung on. She struggled to her 21:30 feet, screaming to her brother, get it off! Get 21:31 it off! It's an octopus! Eric screamed. Ah! 21:35 But you're gonna have to read the book boys 21:38 and girls this is an exciting story you 21:41 don't want to miss. Octopus Encounter by 21:43 Sally Streib. Something else you 21:46 won't, don't want to miss is our guest 21:48 today, I am so excited, she has such 21:51 a love for Jesus and you gonna love her 21:53 too. Her name is Katie, hi Katie thank 21:55 you for being with us today and I have to 21:57 say I did fall in love with you a longtime 21:59 ago when I met you in Dallas at your 22:01 grandparents church then and I just love, 22:04 you just be in Jesus, you have the biggest 22:06 smile and I just fell in love with you right 22:08 and there. And I know that you do have a 22:11 real heart for witnessing. So, what 22:14 do you do to share Jesus? Well, I have a 22:16 bookmark ministry. A bookmark ministry, 22:19 now tell me how in the world did you get 22:21 started with the bookmark ministry. 22:23 Well, it was in Dallas, when I was there 22:26 visiting my grandparents and my 22:28 grand mommy was really excited, she 22:29 wanted me to read part of your book 22:31 passionate prayer and so finally I read it and 22:36 now I read the part about how this lady 22:38 was making bookmarks and so 22:40 that got me very excited and so grand 22:42 mommy took me out and she got all the 22:43 things that I need you know like magazines 22:45 to get the picture out of, right, and you 22:48 know that paper and everything and, a 22:50 laminator and all the things that you would 22:52 need. Yeah. And so, we just you know you 22:56 take that pictures, are they hard to make? 22:58 Hard to make, oh no. okay, how do you, 23:02 how is it? All you do, is you just like, you 23:04 know magazines, you can have any picture 23:05 you want out, and then you paste it on to 23:08 here and you have like the sheets that 23:11 have the Bible verse on them. Well, you 23:12 can do that from the computer. Right, then 23:15 you just, you can put it on another sheet of 23:17 paper to make it clear and then you just 23:18 laminate it and then, cut it out. Yep. And, 23:21 and I know I put that story in my book 23:24 passionate prayer, because I wanted to 23:26 get everybody excited about witnessing, so I 23:28 am thankful to God that he touched your 23:30 heart to witness, because it's a 23:31 wonderful way to talk about Jesus. Any time 23:34 you give a bookmark, it's like your foot in 23:36 the door to talk about Jesus isn't it. So, have 23:38 you had any awesome experiences from 23:40 passing out your bookmarks and you 23:42 also make them for other people too don't 23:44 you for witness? Now, tell me about 23:47 any of your experiences you've 23:48 had when you given out a bookmark. Well, 23:50 one time my grand mommy and I were 23:51 going shopping and we were checking out 23:53 after the cashier had rung up all our stuff, I 23:58 pull out a bookmark and I said here, I want 24:00 you to have this bookmark and you 24:02 know they were really surprised like for me. 24:05 Yes, it's for you and they're like well thank 24:08 you. And so they were really excited, 24:12 because you know most of, most people 24:14 don't, most cashiers don't get any, you 24:17 know people don't get themselves.
