It's almost time for Kids Time, we're gonna 00:00:01.98\00:00:03.36 be late. It's time to share 00:00:03.39\00:00:06.06 there's a world out there, Looking for a 00:00:06.09\00:00:09.55 friend like Jesus. It's time to share there's a 00:00:09.58\00:00:14.32 world out there. Let's tell them that He loves 00:00:14.35\00:00:17.90 us so. Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:17.93\00:00:23.66 Kid's time, kid's time, kid's time, kid's time, kid's time. 00:00:23.94\00:00:29.92 I love stories especially stories with happy 00:00:30.54\00:00:32.90 endings and I like to hear that all the people 00:00:32.93\00:00:36.16 of the story lived happily ever after. 00:00:36.19\00:00:38.18 But, you know boys and girls in real life stories 00:00:38.76\00:00:41.11 are just the beginning, something interesting 00:00:41.14\00:00:43.74 happens and then life goes on and the 00:00:43.77\00:00:45.90 characters in real life stories keep on leaving 00:00:45.93\00:00:48.47 on and facing more challenges. 00:00:48.50\00:00:50.21 There is always more to the story. 00:00:50.24\00:00:52.41 Many people thought that the greatest story 00:00:52.86\00:00:55.02 on earth ended when Jesus died and rose 00:00:55.05\00:00:57.17 again, but that story didn't end there it kept 00:00:57.20\00:01:00.24 going and guess what here in it. 00:01:00.27\00:01:02.04 Today, we are going to hear part of that story, 00:01:02.65\00:01:04.78 we will here about something that 00:01:04.81\00:01:06.18 happened after Jesus died and rose again. 00:01:06.21\00:01:08.58 It's about a couple of people, who tried to 00:01:08.96\00:01:11.07 trick God and that's never a good idea is it. 00:01:11.10\00:01:14.49 I am sorry to say that things didn't turn out 00:01:14.65\00:01:16.88 well for them. This story did not have a 00:01:16.91\00:01:19.40 happy ending, but there is a very important 00:01:19.43\00:01:21.88 lesson to learn, so I hope you will listen 00:01:21.91\00:01:23.65 closely, but first let's get ready for Nature Time. 00:01:23.68\00:01:28.25 Hi, boys and girls welcome to nature time. 00:01:33.92\00:01:36.98 I am here in beautiful Western Montana with 00:01:37.47\00:01:39.53 Ranger Jim and our friend Ann Dall. 00:01:39.56\00:01:41.55 She is the head of the Swan Ecosystem Center 00:01:41.75\00:01:43.50 and we gonna learn something absolutely 00:01:43.53\00:01:45.61 fascinating today about this beautiful tree that is 00:01:45.64\00:01:48.75 behind me this is called ponderosa. 00:01:48.78\00:01:51.33 And incidentally, ponderosa is a very 00:01:51.77\00:01:53.61 special tree because it's Montana state tree. 00:01:53.64\00:01:56.51 Alright, isn't that incredible Ranger Jim. 00:01:56.54\00:01:58.65 That's great. And we are here in beautiful 00:01:58.68\00:02:00.01 Montana, right, its how appropriate to be 00:02:00.04\00:02:01.84 talking about this beautiful tree. 00:02:01.87\00:02:03.27 I would like boys and girls for us to take a sort 00:02:04.52\00:02:07.05 of a look that something that seems unique and 00:02:07.08\00:02:09.58 you might say to yourselves oh Ranger 00:02:09.61\00:02:11.23 Rod is that tree died. Look at that big scar on 00:02:11.26\00:02:14.84 the front of the tree. What could have cause 00:02:14.87\00:02:16.87 that, maybe you boys and girls at home you 00:02:16.90\00:02:19.82 can only see this part of the tree right here, but 00:02:19.85\00:02:22.13 really this tree is very, very tall, well over a 00:02:22.16\00:02:25.10 hundred feet tall won't you say Ann. 00:02:25.13\00:02:27.06 Oh! At least a hundred feet tall I would say, 00:02:27.09\00:02:29.02 at least a hundred feet tall. Ann could you tell 00:02:29.05\00:02:32.19 us why this tree has this big mark right down to 00:02:32.22\00:02:34.96 the middle of it. Well, if people want to guess a 00:02:34.99\00:02:37.37 little bit, we have a lot of forest fires in this 00:02:37.40\00:02:39.90 area when a fire comes through the area it will 00:02:39.93\00:02:42.95 start burning from the ground and a scar from 00:02:42.98\00:02:45.35 the fire would be at the ground level and working up. 00:02:45.38\00:02:48.07 This one starts about this high imagine that 00:02:48.10\00:02:52.17 you are an Indian woman, a woman from 00:02:52.20\00:02:54.50 the Pend d'Oreille tribe or the Salish and 00:02:54.53\00:02:56.72 Kootenai Tribes campaign over here and 00:02:56.75\00:02:59.61 you need to scrape the bark off this huge tree 00:02:59.64\00:03:03.75 because inside the bark in the layer between the 00:03:03.78\00:03:07.05 bark and the center of the tree there is 00:03:07.08\00:03:10.68 cambium, which is sweet. And hundred years ago 00:03:10.71\00:03:13.96 people didn't have candy you couldn't go 00:03:14.30\00:03:16.00 to the store, you couldn't buy sugar. Right. 00:03:16.03\00:03:17.67 So, if you were living out in the woods in 00:03:18.12\00:03:21.29 those days you would be looking for sweet 00:03:21.32\00:03:23.19 treats or maybe there is some additional value 00:03:23.64\00:03:26.02 here or some other uses. Now the people who 00:03:26.05\00:03:29.15 live across the mountains from us the 00:03:29.18\00:03:31.72 Pend d'Oreille, the Salish & Kootenai 00:03:31.75\00:03:33.66 know about the history of their tree and we are 00:03:34.15\00:03:37.00 only interpreting what they are learning they 00:03:37.03\00:03:39.63 have stories that tell about at the use of these 00:03:39.66\00:03:41.94 trees and they are doing a lot of research, so we 00:03:41.97\00:03:43.99 don't pretend to know everything, but we have 00:03:44.02\00:03:46.73 been told some things about the trees. 00:03:46.76\00:03:48.58 How Old Ann would you say that this tree is 00:03:48.61\00:03:50.99 by looking at it how large it is boys and girls 00:03:51.02\00:03:52.53 you can see this is a fairly large tree. 00:03:52.56\00:03:54.38 How old would you say this tree is? 00:03:54.41\00:03:56.22 Well, this tree hasn't been board, so I am not 00:03:56.25\00:03:59.13 sure, but I'm gonna guess it's about 200 00:03:59.16\00:04:01.22 years old. 200 years, so how long it go with the 00:04:01.25\00:04:05.14 Indians have put this scrape on the side of the 00:04:05.17\00:04:07.53 tree in order to get the cambium out of it, so if 00:04:07.56\00:04:10.22 they chew it is as candy or certain like we might 00:04:10.25\00:04:13.21 chew gum sometimes when mommy or daddy 00:04:13.24\00:04:15.76 let's us have a piece of gum about how long 00:04:15.79\00:04:18.14 ago would that have taken place. 00:04:18.17\00:04:19.37 Well, we know that the trees were been peeled 00:04:19.76\00:04:22.30 for a long time in history and tell the 00:04:22.33\00:04:24.91 Indian people were moved on to the 00:04:25.28\00:04:27.52 reservation and they stopped campaigning in 00:04:27.55\00:04:29.64 this area. So, you can look back in the stock 00:04:29.67\00:04:31.65 records and realize that when they no longer 00:04:31.68\00:04:35.59 camped here the peeling stopped. 00:04:35.62\00:04:37.56 Now they peel lots of different trees, it wasn't 00:04:37.59\00:04:39.89 just the ponderosa but the ponderosa live so 00:04:39.92\00:04:42.78 long we still see the scars. Now I understand 00:04:42.81\00:04:45.54 that one of the reasons the ponderosa live so 00:04:45.57\00:04:47.75 long is that it's, it's fairly resistant to fire, 00:04:47.78\00:04:51.57 when forest fire burns through an area like an 00:04:51.60\00:04:53.99 area in like this I notice here boys and girls that 00:04:54.02\00:04:56.27 is fairly open, there are larger trees and when 00:04:56.30\00:04:59.81 the fire would burn up to this tree. 00:04:59.84\00:05:01.55 Is there why wouldn't this tree just burn up in 00:05:02.52\00:05:05.01 a forest fire? Well, you could take a look you 00:05:05.04\00:05:06.66 can tell here from the scar that the bark on a 00:05:06.69\00:05:09.76 ponderosas are at least this thick and so that 00:05:09.79\00:05:13.89 has to be a very hot fire burning slowly to 00:05:13.92\00:05:17.02 actually consume the whole bark. 00:05:17.05\00:05:18.74 And so if the whole bark is not consumed 00:05:19.42\00:05:21.57 then the tree would continue to live. 00:05:21.89\00:05:23.16 Even though because I notice here that there is 00:05:23.19\00:05:25.34 some, some ash or not ash, it would be 00:05:25.37\00:05:27.79 charcoal may be and so that is that evident that 00:05:27.82\00:05:30.86 there has been a fire here in the presence of 00:05:30.89\00:05:33.31 this tree since that it was even peeled. 00:05:33.34\00:05:35.00 You are right, exactly right. Interesting. 00:05:35.03\00:05:36.83 There may, if you able to cut this tree down in 00:05:36.86\00:05:39.08 of course we wouldn't, we might find several 00:05:39.11\00:05:40.89 fire scars on the rings, on the rings, so we look 00:05:40.92\00:05:43.58 at the rings boys and girls you know that 00:05:43.61\00:05:45.21 inside of a tree when you, when you cut it off 00:05:45.24\00:05:47.84 very smooth you can count rings in there and 00:05:47.87\00:05:51.26 so those, those rings that's evident of a year 00:05:51.29\00:05:54.20 per ring. Each ring indicates a year of 00:05:54.23\00:05:56.34 growth and so, you are saying Ann that one of 00:05:56.37\00:05:59.96 those rings might have a little bit of this 00:05:59.99\00:06:01.63 charcoal on it and they would indicate at that 00:06:01.66\00:06:04.14 year there was a forest fire or there is at least a 00:06:04.17\00:06:06.68 grass fire that burn to this area. That's correct, 00:06:06.71\00:06:08.80 interesting. Another, another feature she met 00:06:08.83\00:06:10.90 to probably this tree had been bored or tapped 00:06:10.93\00:06:12.86 that's when you go into this tree with an auger 00:06:13.28\00:06:16.63 hollow and you can bore in that doing don't 00:06:17.00\00:06:19.57 do damage to the tree when you pulled it out 00:06:19.60\00:06:21.55 you have a sample of the history of the tree 00:06:21.58\00:06:23.45 and they can read it. Oh! Go back is it, yes 00:06:23.69\00:06:25.70 this patch is, this match is the one that was up 00:06:25.73\00:06:27.99 on the other side of the mountain there had a 00:06:28.02\00:06:30.98 forest fire back in 1922 that big fire, yeah, there 00:06:31.01\00:06:34.06 it was. Ranger Jim you are waving something 00:06:34.09\00:06:36.54 around here. Okay, where did you find this, 00:06:36.57\00:06:37.84 what is this. Well, I hate being the green horn, 00:06:37.87\00:06:39.91 but I've never been to Montana before. 00:06:39.94\00:06:41.65 In Florida we, we have something we call 00:06:42.29\00:06:44.14 Spanish moss and I saw this, so Ms. Ann what 00:06:44.17\00:06:46.68 in the world is this stuff. Well, we like to call 00:06:46.71\00:06:49.26 that old man's beard. Oh, that fits, okay that 00:06:49.29\00:06:52.45 fits okay, but it is not moss at all its lichen, 00:06:52.48\00:06:55.19 which is different and I won't 00:06:55.22\00:06:57.70 go into that right now. Because that's kind of 00:06:57.73\00:06:59.90 complicate to understand the difference between 00:06:59.93\00:07:01.79 the lichen and moss. But the nice things 00:07:01.82\00:07:03.76 about that is its really important for wild life, 00:07:03.79\00:07:06.57 so especially in the winter the deer and elk 00:07:06.60\00:07:09.16 reach up into the trees and eat this. 00:07:09.19\00:07:11.24 And in fact the Indian people, who lived here 00:07:11.88\00:07:14.33 probably ate it to it is edible and I think they 00:07:14.97\00:07:17.66 cooked it in underground ovens. 00:07:17.69\00:07:19.90 If you put little on your tongue it might taste 00:07:20.72\00:07:23.16 sweet, but mostly it will seem really dry. 00:07:23.19\00:07:25.42 Ms. Ann you mentioned that the deer and the elk 00:07:25.83\00:07:28.60 reach up into the tree and they take this, now 00:07:28.78\00:07:31.19 I noticed that they could possibly reach up in this 00:07:31.22\00:07:33.87 tree so when the wind blows in this, this lichen 00:07:33.90\00:07:37.99 falls to the ground, but they do here right off 00:07:38.02\00:07:39.97 the ground. They, they will search around on 00:07:40.00\00:07:41.75 the ground and they really love it when a 00:07:41.78\00:07:43.35 tree blows over in the wind. It's very interesting. 00:07:43.38\00:07:45.19 And all of that lichen is up there, where they 00:07:45.22\00:07:47.22 can actually reach it. Well, thank you so 00:07:47.25\00:07:49.71 much, hey this is like Africa, that is exiting 00:07:49.74\00:07:52.92 isn't that exciting boys and girls and you boys 00:07:52.95\00:07:54.73 and girls at home isn't that wonderful our God 00:07:54.76\00:07:56.95 has put into play a way to take care of the 00:07:56.98\00:08:00.29 animals they live in this part of Montana over 00:08:00.32\00:08:02.22 here, lots of deep snow, there is a way that they 00:08:02.25\00:08:04.06 can feed even during the middle of the 00:08:04.09\00:08:05.76 wintertime when they can't dig down to the 00:08:05.79\00:08:07.45 grass they have this lichen they falls on a 00:08:07.48\00:08:10.05 ground for them on windstorm or may be a 00:08:10.08\00:08:11.79 tree falls down. God is so good, well that's all 00:08:11.82\00:08:14.89 the time we have today boys and girls, but until 00:08:14.92\00:08:17.17 next time this is Ranger Rod and Ranger Jim 00:08:17.20\00:08:20.31 saying let's all enjoy God's great outdoors. 00:08:20.34\00:08:24.49 What can wash away my sin? 00:08:34.03\00:08:37.26 Nothing but the blood of Jesus; 00:08:37.81\00:08:41.06 What can make me whole again? 00:08:41.54\00:08:44.84 Nothing but the blood of Jesus. 00:08:45.39\00:08:48.60 Oh! Precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; 00:08:49.20\00:08:56.67 No other fount I know, Nothing but the 00:08:57.28\00:09:01.95 blood of Jesus. For my pardon, this I see, 00:09:01.98\00:09:08.20 Nothing but the blood of Jesus; 00:09:08.71\00:09:11.94 For my cleansing this my plea, 00:09:12.41\00:09:15.64 Nothing but the blood of Jesus. 00:09:16.19\00:09:19.14 Oh! Precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; 00:09:19.89\00:09:27.40 No other fount I know, Nothing but the 00:09:28.16\00:09:32.62 the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow 00:09:32.65\00:09:38.71 That makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, 00:09:39.18\00:09:47.17 Nothing but the blood of Jesus. 00:09:47.64\00:09:51.43 Welcome to learning time. Hey I'm glad that 00:10:02.50\00:10:04.69 you are here today, we are going to do an 00:10:04.72\00:10:06.14 experiment with water, water is a very 00:10:06.17\00:10:08.52 interesting thing. Well, you know we have 00:10:08.55\00:10:10.30 got three helpers let me introduce you to 00:10:10.33\00:10:12.88 our helpers today. In fact I have got 00:10:12.91\00:10:14.75 Christopher over here, now Christopher what 00:10:14.78\00:10:17.94 do you like to do best about water. 00:10:17.97\00:10:19.49 I like to swim, swim in water, oh, that's cool, 00:10:19.52\00:10:22.44 we don't have enough water for you to swim today. 00:10:22.47\00:10:24.40 No, I don't think so. But, hey and we've got 00:10:24.43\00:10:26.50 Steven over here. Steven what do you like 00:10:26.53\00:10:29.20 to do about water in water. Drink it, drink it you know 00:10:29.23\00:10:32.65 drinking water is very important isn't it. 00:10:32.68\00:10:34.31 You know I don't know about you, but today we 00:10:34.34\00:10:36.74 will have something very special because we 00:10:36.77\00:10:38.54 have some twins' right here. Can you, can you think 00:10:38.57\00:10:41.62 who might be twins in here. Oh! I have got Christopher 00:10:41.65\00:10:45.08 and I have got Steven, and they happen to be 00:10:45.11\00:10:46.87 fraternal twins. This is the first time that we've 00:10:46.90\00:10:49.40 ever had that, we have had identical twins, 00:10:49.43\00:10:51.68 but we haven't had fraternal twins. 00:10:51.71\00:10:53.83 So, can we give them a hand to be the first? 00:10:53.86\00:10:56.12 You are very first and thanks 00:10:56.71\00:10:58.17 for being a part of us. We are glad that you 00:10:58.20\00:11:00.23 came here and we have got Ashley. 00:11:00.26\00:11:01.64 Ashley thanks for being here. You know what do you 00:11:01.67\00:11:04.13 like to do best about water. Swimming, swim in the 00:11:04.16\00:11:08.47 water, swimming is really important isn't it. 00:11:08.50\00:11:10.56 Hey, why don't you come on up here, let's 00:11:10.59\00:11:11.89 do an experiment with water. This is an exciting 00:11:11.92\00:11:14.42 experiment come on right in here. 00:11:14.45\00:11:16.28 Now, we have an aquarium, you can do 00:11:16.59\00:11:17.80 lots of things with aquariums right. 00:11:17.83\00:11:19.35 Right. Yeah we can swim in it if we are 00:11:19.51\00:11:21.19 little smaller or you know if we go to one of 00:11:21.22\00:11:23.26 those big amusement not amusement parks, 00:11:23.29\00:11:25.64 but museums you can swim with a big 00:11:25.67\00:11:28.12 aquariums, where you know the animals swim 00:11:28.15\00:11:32.00 more like fish, how about sharks. 00:11:32.03\00:11:34.03 No, I don't think I wanna, oh, some sharks 00:11:34.59\00:11:36.17 you can swim until you don't have a problem. 00:11:36.20\00:11:37.58 But, water is very interesting because 00:11:37.61\00:11:39.50 when it is a liquid, we can do anything with it, 00:11:39.53\00:11:41.91 it doesn't have a shape all of it's own, but what 00:11:41.94\00:11:44.40 happens when we freeze it, what happens 00:11:44.43\00:11:46.67 ice when we freeze it, it turns into ice, ice. 00:11:46.70\00:11:49.08 It takes the shape of the container that we put it in. 00:11:49.11\00:11:51.57 Hey, let's do an experiment with this okay. 00:11:51.60\00:11:53.54 I will tell you, let's do why don't you grab hold 00:11:53.57\00:11:55.20 that block of ice. We are gonna see if ice 00:11:55.23\00:11:57.37 floats or sink what do you think it does. 00:11:57.40\00:11:59.33 Floats, okay, we will put it there gently okay 00:11:59.36\00:12:02.19 and let's check this out and see what happens 00:12:02.22\00:12:04.50 right over here. Well, is it floating or sinking? 00:12:04.53\00:12:06.76 Floating, it's floating, you know it becomes an 00:12:06.79\00:12:10.46 ice cube or it becomes an iceberg if it happens 00:12:10.49\00:12:13.36 to be on a large body or water. 00:12:13.39\00:12:15.03 Now, if we were in a boat and we were just 00:12:15.06\00:12:17.36 right here in around the top of the water the 00:12:17.39\00:12:19.01 boats just scream and right towards this iceberg. 00:12:19.04\00:12:22.13 All that we would see would be the what? 00:12:22.16\00:12:23.93 The top of it, right. And it doesn't look like 00:12:23.96\00:12:26.98 its very big right, but if you are fish or you if 00:12:27.01\00:12:30.29 you look underneath the water what would you see. 00:12:30.32\00:12:32.55 This big blast of ice, a whole lot of it, that's 00:12:32.92\00:12:35.90 right about 90 percent of an iceberg is underwater. 00:12:35.93\00:12:38.97 Now, that presents a real problem for boats 00:12:39.00\00:12:41.93 and ships doesn't it? We even had ships like the 00:12:41.96\00:12:44.95 famous Titanic, Titanic you know the story. 00:12:44.98\00:12:48.38 Its, it hit an iceberg a huge iceberg; it tore the 00:12:48.93\00:12:51.93 ship apart very, very dangerous. 00:12:51.96\00:12:54.35 Well, you know when God made ice while 00:12:54.57\00:12:57.01 when he made water he said you know what 00:12:57.04\00:12:58.44 water you are gonna be very special, you are 00:12:58.47\00:13:00.35 gonna do something that hardly any other 00:13:00.38\00:13:02.32 liquids do. When you get cold enough to 00:13:02.35\00:13:04.37 freeze, I want you to float and so I thought 00:13:04.40\00:13:07.59 that they will not be cool to be able to do 00:13:07.62\00:13:09.90 something that hardly anything 00:13:09.93\00:13:11.07 else does as a liquid. So, when Ice freezes 00:13:11.92\00:13:13.82 it gets bigger, the crystalline structure 00:13:13.85\00:13:16.26 expands and it takes up more room and so it 00:13:16.29\00:13:19.32 floats, that's a really good idea because you 00:13:19.35\00:13:22.37 know what would happen. The surface of the water 00:13:22.40\00:13:24.28 would get cold like in the winter time and it 00:13:24.31\00:13:26.61 would turn into an ice, right ice and then it 00:13:26.64\00:13:29.14 would sink and then more of the surface 00:13:29.17\00:13:31.16 would freeze and sink pretty soon you would 00:13:31.19\00:13:33.31 have a solid column of ice. What would happen to 00:13:33.34\00:13:36.45 all the fish and all the animals? 00:13:36.48\00:13:37.91 They will die. They will die. They wouldn't to be 00:13:37.94\00:13:39.84 able to survive; well you know God knew all 00:13:39.87\00:13:42.45 about that. That's why he created ice or water 00:13:42.48\00:13:46.05 rather in a very special way when it gets cold 00:13:46.08\00:13:48.85 isn't that unique. Yeah. Oh yeah! Because we 00:13:48.88\00:13:52.07 have a great unique creator God and 00:13:52.10\00:13:54.76 remember boys and girls every time we study 00:13:54.79\00:13:57.77 about science we learn more about our creator God. 00:13:57.80\00:14:02.48 These are such exciting times we are living in, 00:14:09.20\00:14:11.57 yes they are and fearful too. 00:14:11.60\00:14:18.35 Is he gone? He is gone. Oh! I thought it was 00:14:19.53\00:14:22.85 allover when Jesus died. Oh! Yeh. But we have 00:14:22.88\00:14:26.85 baptized over 5000 people since he, since 00:14:26.88\00:14:30.42 he was crucified. 5000, yes, oh my, the Lord is 00:14:30.45\00:14:35.27 just working in such mighty ways. 00:14:35.30\00:14:37.15 You know the other day I saw people bringing 00:14:38.82\00:14:40.67 sick people and just laying them in the streets. 00:14:40.70\00:14:42.84 So, then when peter walked by his shadow 00:14:43.15\00:14:46.47 would be cast on them and they were healed. 00:14:46.50\00:14:48.08 Oh! That's so exciting. I've heard about the 00:14:48.11\00:14:50.94 miracles and I am so excited about what is 00:14:50.97\00:14:54.19 happening in our world today, we are going to 00:14:54.22\00:14:57.16 have a meeting at my house tonight would 00:14:57.19\00:14:59.63 you like to come? Sure, I would like to come. 00:14:59.66\00:15:01.53 Be sure that no one follows you alright its 00:15:02.35\00:15:05.35 very important. No one, make sure. Okay, I am 00:15:05.38\00:15:10.45 going to go I have more shopping to do. 00:15:10.48\00:15:12.20 I need to get on my way, but I will see you 00:15:12.23\00:15:14.30 tonight. Alright, remember no one 00:15:14.33\00:15:16.35 follows you. Okay, tonight. Strategy and 00:15:16.38\00:15:21.73 am sure. Excuse me, yes I am looking for a 00:15:21.76\00:15:26.15 piece of pottery and I need something just 00:15:26.18\00:15:29.20 right about so big and about so big around. 00:15:29.23\00:15:32.21 Just go ahead and look around and we have our 00:15:32.24\00:15:34.63 servant there will help, thank you, 00:15:34.66\00:15:36.93 your welcome. What is wrong with you, 00:15:36.96\00:15:40.84 you haven't listen to one word I have said you 00:15:40.87\00:15:44.32 just like in your own world and in your own 00:15:44.35\00:15:45.87 thoughts why even a customer came up and 00:15:45.90\00:15:47.96 you didn't even turn your head to notice her. 00:15:47.99\00:15:49.56 Husband this is not like you, I am sorry there is, 00:15:50.37\00:15:54.12 there is just and such horrible things that have 00:15:54.15\00:15:56.44 happen today. Well, what can be so horrible 00:15:56.47\00:15:59.17 that your mind wouldn't be on business it always 00:15:59.20\00:16:01.80 is on business. No, this is really bad. 00:16:01.83\00:16:04.10 Well, what could be really bad. 00:16:04.98\00:16:06.53 Well, you know Ananias and Sapphira. 00:16:07.18\00:16:09.15 Well of course Sapphira is one of my good friends. 00:16:09.18\00:16:13.05 I know remember the land that they had they 00:16:13.61\00:16:16.67 were going to sell. Oh! Yes, yes she told me 00:16:16.70\00:16:18.76 they had some land they gonna sell 00:16:18.79\00:16:20.02 get to the apostles. Yeah, well that was the problem. 00:16:20.05\00:16:24.09 Well, why would that be a problem because 00:16:24.69\00:16:26.76 when they sold that they got far more then 00:16:26.79\00:16:28.50 they thought they were going to get. 00:16:28.53\00:16:29.91 Oh! Praise the Lord, but they decided to keep 00:16:29.94\00:16:33.81 that portion for themselves. Oh, and just give 00:16:33.84\00:16:37.11 part of it to God. Are you telling me that the 00:16:37.14\00:16:39.49 part they promised all of the land and all the 00:16:39.52\00:16:42.25 money and now they were gonna keep part of 00:16:42.28\00:16:44.49 it to themselves. Yes, that's what I am telling you. 00:16:44.52\00:16:47.21 Oh! I got to go talk to Sapphira. 00:16:47.24\00:16:49.33 No, no, she cannot do this. You can't go, you have 00:16:49.36\00:16:51.93 to listen to me. Ananias went to see Peter 00:16:51.96\00:16:55.64 to bring the money, well of course, and talk 00:16:56.57\00:16:58.45 to him, okay, and he said here is the money 00:16:58.48\00:17:01.01 from the land. And did he tell him that he had 00:17:01.04\00:17:02.98 some extra. No, no, because Peter asked 00:17:03.01\00:17:06.81 him if that was all that he had got and he said 00:17:06.84\00:17:09.63 yes it is. And Peter said Ananias you haven't 00:17:09.66\00:17:15.92 lied to me, you lie to the Holy Spirit, that's a 00:17:15.95\00:17:19.49 serious offense. And then Peter said Ananias 00:17:19.52\00:17:24.59 it was your land, it belong to you, 00:17:25.64\00:17:27.97 you could do what you want it with it, 00:17:28.00\00:17:29.66 of course, but you gave it to God. He promised, 00:17:29.69\00:17:31.79 yes he did, and the money you got it was 00:17:31.82\00:17:35.28 yours too, but you promised that to God. 00:17:35.31\00:17:37.72 Exactly, you are not lying to me Ananias 00:17:37.75\00:17:40.96 you are lying to God. Oh! This is so serious. 00:17:40.99\00:17:43.91 And he gets worse. How can it get any 00:17:44.51\00:17:46.65 worse that's a terrible thing to do, at the very 00:17:46.68\00:17:49.02 moment Ananias fell down at the feet of 00:17:49.05\00:17:51.50 Peter and he died. Oh! No, I've got to go to 00:17:51.53\00:17:54.54 Sapphira right now, no, no, I could know you 00:17:54.57\00:17:56.43 don't understand she is my friend. 00:17:56.46\00:17:57.87 No, no just wait, I have to go, wait, 00:17:57.90\00:17:58.87 wait, let me finish. The man they picked up 00:17:58.88\00:18:02.40 Ananias and they carried him out to the 00:18:02.43\00:18:04.44 cemetery and they buried him that very 00:18:04.47\00:18:06.61 day, that very moment. I had to go and be with 00:18:06.64\00:18:10.24 Sapphira. This is what is so hard to tell you 00:18:10.27\00:18:13.98 because three hours later Sapphira didn't 00:18:14.80\00:18:17.32 know what it happened to Ananias she didn't know. 00:18:17.35\00:18:19.78 So certainly she would have gone in sad, this is 00:18:20.36\00:18:22.65 the extra money that we have I know she got it, 00:18:22.68\00:18:24.84 she loves the Lord. That's not what she did. 00:18:25.36\00:18:27.80 She went to see Peter and when she got there 00:18:28.71\00:18:32.31 she lays the money got and Peter asked her too 00:18:33.74\00:18:36.88 if this is what the land sold. Did she told the truth 00:18:37.38\00:18:39.13 just tell me she told the truth. 00:18:39.16\00:18:40.43 No, she didn't she didn't tell the truth. 00:18:41.04\00:18:43.91 She said yes that's what we sold the land for. 00:18:43.94\00:18:46.41 And she didn't know Ananias was gone and 00:18:47.02\00:18:49.04 she was looking for him. She lied. Yes. 00:18:49.07\00:18:52.32 And Peter said you haven't lied to me, 00:18:52.63\00:18:55.31 you have lie to God. Oh! And this is where 00:18:56.01\00:19:00.93 it's breaking my heart for you because Peter 00:19:02.14\00:19:05.66 said the man that carried Ananias after 00:19:05.69\00:19:08.13 buried him they are waiting for you. 00:19:08.16\00:19:11.12 Oh no, yes. And she fell down at Peter foot and 00:19:11.15\00:19:15.48 she died right there on the spot. 00:19:15.51\00:19:18.15 And this men, this men they took her out to the 00:19:19.43\00:19:22.53 cemetery and they buried her to the God. 00:19:22.56\00:19:25.03 Sapphira has gone. They have gone just for 00:19:25.06\00:19:27.43 money, just for money. Why did she lie to the 00:19:27.46\00:19:30.45 Holy Spirit? They love the church like we love 00:19:30.48\00:19:32.85 the church we have been Christians for long. 00:19:32.88\00:19:35.33 Oh! That God is faithful, he will take 00:19:35.36\00:19:38.33 care of his own, but we can't lie to God, 00:19:38.36\00:19:40.54 but she wanted the money more then she 00:19:40.57\00:19:43.40 wanted to serve God. Oh! And she is gone. 00:19:43.43\00:19:46.55 And I have been thinking about our shop 00:19:47.87\00:19:49.59 in about all the things we have and I am just 00:19:50.23\00:19:53.13 wondering you know this is worth it. 00:19:53.16\00:19:55.01 It's not worth it. Husband, we have got 00:19:55.04\00:19:57.90 to go together, we have got to take this money 00:19:57.93\00:20:00.67 right now, I know, we have got to take it to 00:20:00.70\00:20:02.75 apostles right now, we will not lie we have, 00:20:02.78\00:20:06.03 we have talked about giving this money, 00:20:06.06\00:20:08.09 let us promise together that they were gonna 00:20:08.12\00:20:11.07 give it, oh, I will go. But, let's promise from 00:20:11.10\00:20:13.76 this day forth to Peter and to all the Church 00:20:13.79\00:20:16.31 that we will give half of everything we sell to 00:20:16.34\00:20:19.01 the new church that they can grow in prosperous. 00:20:19.04\00:20:21.31 Exactly, exactly we've gone through a painful 00:20:21.34\00:20:24.46 lesson today, but this is a lesson that the whole 00:20:24.49\00:20:28.14 church needs to learn that, that we can't be 00:20:28.17\00:20:30.32 dishonest with God everything belongs to 00:20:30.35\00:20:32.35 God and let's give this to him. 00:20:32.38\00:20:34.29 That's exactly right, we are gonna make sure 00:20:34.32\00:20:37.74 that they get every single coin, make sure 00:20:37.77\00:20:41.40 you give it all, don't hold back, turn the 00:20:41.43\00:20:43.99 purse upside down, make sure every coin is 00:20:44.02\00:20:46.03 comes out of there. Go husband hurry, oh God. 00:20:46.06\00:20:52.80 Please keep us always faithful to you always 00:20:52.83\00:20:57.62 you are the only true God and we want to 00:20:58.08\00:20:59.86 honor you on everything mean to you. 00:20:59.89\00:21:01.65 Oh, may be you will be praised. 00:21:02.47\00:21:04.37 Hi, boys and girls, it's time for Ms. Brenda's 00:22:02.30\00:22:04.56 Book of the Day and today's book is called 00:22:04.59\00:22:08.72 Hannah's Girls this one is on Grace and it's 00:22:08.75\00:22:11.97 True Stories of God's Leading in Six Generations 00:22:12.00\00:22:14.90 of Adventist Girls and this one is written by 00:22:14.93\00:22:16.95 Ruth Merkel, a wonderful book. 00:22:16.98\00:22:19.19 Well, today we are going meet a very 00:22:19.80\00:22:22.27 special girl that is no stranger for Kids Time. 00:22:22.30\00:22:24.89 I wanna to welcome Evana. I sing for the Lord because 00:22:49.99\00:22:52.03 when I was three and a half I had cancer, 00:22:52.06\00:22:55.15 rhabdomyosarcoma, it was a tumor on my 00:22:55.80\00:22:58.58 behind my left eye pushing it out. 00:22:58.61\00:23:00.49 So, I didn't have any vision on my left eye, 00:23:01.16\00:23:03.39 so we moved to Houston and I had 00:23:03.42\00:23:06.42 surgery for one year and because of that 00:23:06.45\00:23:11.38 I couldn't breathe through my nose. 00:23:11.41\00:23:13.90 So, I always breathe through my mouth, 00:23:14.43\00:23:16.44 which need my voice. Now, I sing for the Lord. 00:23:16.47\00:23:21.10 Because it was probably very difficult before 00:23:21.13\00:23:24.13 you had the surgery to sing at all and you 00:23:24.16\00:23:26.73 know God gave your voice don't you. 00:23:26.76\00:23:28.52 In fact, you have the beautiful voice. 00:23:29.48\00:23:31.65 Boys and girls, I am sure you have seen her 00:23:31.68\00:23:33.11 on Kids Time and right now I would like to 00:23:33.14\00:23:35.93 share a song that she recorded earlier with us 00:23:36.34\00:23:39.44 and I had the privilege of playing 00:23:39.67\00:23:41.47 the piano for her. His sheep am I. 00:23:42.04\00:23:44.09 In God's green pastures feeding 00:23:50.14\00:23:52.64 by His cool waters lie; Soft in the evening 00:23:52.67\00:23:57.95 walk my Lord and I, All the sheep of His pasture 00:23:57.98\00:24:03.29 fare so wondrously fine; His sheep am I. 00:24:03.32\00:24:10.68 Waters cool, pastures green, 00:24:11.13\00:24:15.61 In the evening Walk my Lord and I 00:24:16.14\00:24:20.69 Dark the night, rough the way, 00:24:20.95\00:24:25.20 Step by step, my Lord and I. 00:24:25.69\00:24:33.11 Oh!
