00:01 It's time to share, there's a world out there, looking for a
00:06 friend like Jesus. It's time to share, there's a world out there 00:12 let's tell them that He loves us so, let's tell them that H e 00:18 loves us so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time 00:24 Hi boys and girls! Has anyone ever asked you to follow Jesus? 00:28 Maybe you've even sang the song: I have decided to follow Jesus. 00:31 I love that song, don't you? But if you ever stop to wonder 00:35 what that really means, how do you follow someone you can't 00:38 even see with your own eyes? It does sound a little bit 00:41 mysterious, doesn't it, but it really isn't. 00:43 When you read your Bibles, you learn about the things he 00:46 did and said while here on this earth, and you also hear his 00:50 voice through his prophets and other devoted men, who knew him 00:53 and wrote about him. You also get to know Jesus when you pray. 00:56 But you know what boys and girls? Praying isn't just about 00:59 talking to Jesus. And it's not just about asking him for 01:03 things. It's also listening to Jesus. Not with your ears, but 01:07 with your heart! Reading the Bible helps you to 01:10 recognize his voice when he speaks to your heart, so you 01:13 don't get confused with your own thoughts and your own feelings. 01:17 Some things Jesus did, he asked us to do too, like being 01:21 baptized. When you're baptized, you're really saying: I will no 01:25 longer follow myself, and I will only follow Jesus. 01:29 From now on I'll follow Jesus and His desires for me, and I 01:33 know that Jesus cares for me, even more than I care for myself 01:38 You know boys and girls, today you're gonna hear a story 01:41 about a very special baptism. In fact, it was the most 01:44 exciting baptism that ever happened! 01:46 I hope that you will choose to let Jesus into your heart, 01:50 and be baptized someday very soon, if you haven't already! 01:53 Because you know what? It's the most important decision 01:56 that you're ever gonna make! 01:58 Alright now! It's time to visit Miss Emily in the garden. 02:02 Garden Time 02:05 Hi boys and girls! Welcome to my vegetable garden! 02:12 Here in my vegetable garden I grow all kinds of yummy foods 02:17 that we like to eat. I like to grow tomatoes, 02:20 peppers, carrots, even potatoes and one of my favorites is 02:25 sweet corn! 02:26 There is so much to do in my vegetable garden, 02:29 that it keeps me very busy! 02:30 For instance, you can see here that I have mulched all my 02:34 vegetable garden with hay. This keeps all the weeds from 02:37 growing, but actually I see a weed right now, so I'm gonna 02:40 get it really quick! 02:43 A weed is any plant that you don't want to have grown 02:46 in your garden, so I pulled up this weed, and you can see that 02:48 I got all of the roots, so it's not gonna come back! 02:52 One of my other favorite vegetable plant is the tomato! 02:55 This is a big tomato plant growing right here! 02:58 Tomato plants, you can see, grow tiny little clusters of 03:03 yellow flowers, and, whenever these flowers fall off, 03:07 little tomatoes start to appear! I actually see some 03:10 right over here! You can see the little tomatoes 03:13 start up really green and as they mature and age, get a lot 03:17 of water and a lot of sun, they start to grow bigger and 03:21 bigger and start to turn red! 03:23 Whenever they're bright red, they are ready to pick! 03:26 Now, do you like eating vegetables? 03:30 I love eating vegetables! I love eating all kinds of 03:33 vegetables. But did you know that all vegetables actually 03:36 come from a plant? Whenever you're eating different 03:39 vegetables, you're eating different kinds of the plant! 03:42 For example, we're gonna start from the bottom up. 03:45 Now plants need roots to grow, right boys and girls? 03:48 Roots creep down the soil and they get all the water and 03:51 nutrients. Did you know you actually eat a root? 03:53 Probably almost every day! 03:56 What's this boys and girls? That's right! A carrot! 03:59 The carrot is actually a root, and the part that grows above 04:02 is the only part that you see! Whenever it's ripe, you go ahead 04:05 and you pull up the big carrot. 04:07 The next part of the plant is the stem. 04:10 Now this, I like to eat with peanut butter. 04:13 This is celery, and this is actually the stem of the plant. 04:17 Bellow here, the roots will grow and up here you can see some 04:21 of the leafy tops. So celery is a stem. 04:23 The next part are the leaves. 04:27 We all know lettuce is a leaf. Right? 04:30 This is a leaf of the plant! 04:33 The next part is the flower! 04:36 And broccoli is actually the flower of the broccoli plant. 04:40 This is really good to eat! I love broccoli! 04:43 And tomatoes are the fruit of the plant. 04:46 And this is what these tomatoes over here are gonna look like 04:49 whenever they are ripe. 04:50 I've got two more vegetables in my basket. 04:53 The first one is corn, and all of these little are 04:57 corn kernels, seeds of the corn plant. 05:00 And the last vegetable is the onion. 05:03 This is the bulb of the plant. This is also underground, and 05:08 you have spiky green leaves that shoot up above the ground. 05:11 Well boys and girls, I'm gonna keep weeding and mulching in my 05:15 vegetable garden, but first, I encourage you every day to 05:18 sow the seeds of God's love. 05:20 Music Time 05:24 "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ 05:30 died for the ungodly. But God demonstrates His own love toward 05:35 us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. " 05:40 Romans 5: 6 and 8. 05:43 "More About Jesus" 05:46 "More about Jesus I would know More of His grace to others show 05:55 More of His saving fullness see, More of His love Who died for me 06:05 More, more about Jesus, More, more about Jesus; 06:14 More of His saving fullness see, More of His love Who died for me 06:44 More, more about Jesus, More, more about Jesus; 06:53 More of His saving fullness see, More of His love Who died for me 07:10 Learning Time 07:12 Welcome to Learning Time! 07:15 Say, have you ever wanted to go into space? 07:18 Have you ever wanted to go into space? 07:19 Yes! Yes! 07:21 Wow, we've got Christian today! Christian's gonna be our 07:23 astronaut! How are you feeling Christian? 07:25 Okay! Okay! Hey, well living in space 07:28 would be kind of fun! We're gonna need a mission 07:31 expert. We got Jerry over here to help us! 07:33 Jerry, have you ever been in space? 07:34 I'd like to go soon! 07:36 Have you ever been in space? 07:37 No! Raise your hand, have you ever 07:39 been in space? No! 07:40 Well then, where are you then? You know I'm in space right now! 07:43 We're on a spaceship called what? 07:45 Planet Earth! That's right, we're on 07:48 planet Earth but if Christian was in space, I mean living in 07:50 space, like an astronaut. You know, is there any gravity 07:54 in space? No! 07:56 Oh yes, there is! There is gravity in space and how come 07:58 we see astronauts just kind of floating around in space when we 08:01 see them on television and NASA network and stuff like 08:04 that? Well, it's because they are falling, they are falling 08:07 over planet Earth. Have you ever fell in, like a merry-go round? 08:10 Not a merry-go-round, they don't fall but what are those things 08:13 that go up and, roller coaster! 08:15 Have you ever been on a roller coaster? 08:16 Yes! 08:17 You go up this big hill and all of the sudden everything falls 08:20 down? That's how astronauts feel. They are falling around 08:23 planet Earth! Well, if Christian was an 08:26 astronaut, and sleeping in space, did you know that 08:28 astronauts sleep? 08:29 Yes! 08:30 They have to sleep! You and I have to sleep! 08:32 Do you get plenty of sleep even night? 08:34 Well, astronauts sleep in space. 08:35 Do they have beds? No! 08:37 Well, they don't have regular beds because they can sleep 08:40 anywhere and they don't need any mattresses because they have 08:42 an air mattress, they're floating, they're actually 08:45 falling in space. Then we call them weightless. 08:48 They have weightlessness in space but they're still over 08:51 90' some percent of the same gravity that's on you and I. 08:53 We're the astronauts out there! There's still a gravity there, 08:56 just that they are falling! 08:58 Now Christian, was gonna sleep. Where can he sleep Jerry? 09:01 Anywhere! Anywhere! That's right! 09:03 Anywhere! So what they have to do? 09:05 They have to strap themselves down, so they won't float around 09:09 orbiting, get in the way of instruments and stuff like that! 09:12 So! What do we do to Christian here? 09:14 We buckle him up! Buckle him up! Okay! 09:16 He's all buckled up! And you're ready for bed! 09:19 Aren't you? Yes! 09:20 You're getting very tired, aren't you? 09:22 Yes, you are very sleepy! Okay! 09:24 So, we're gonna strap him down and he can sleep in any position 09:27 that he wants, but he's gotta strap himself down, otherwise 09:31 he'll float into equipment and stuff he might hurt himself! 09:34 He could sleep this way! That feel comfortable? 09:36 Hmm, yes! Hello! 09:38 Oh, he's not asleep yet! Oh you know, we could go ahead 09:41 and we could just let you how about like that? 09:43 He could sleep just like that! Couldn't he? 09:46 And you know what? He wouldn't feel like he's upside down 09:50 because you know what? There's no upside down in space! 09:54 There's no upside down in space! He would feel just fine but 09:57 right now do you feel upside down? 09:59 Yes! Yes! He does! 10:01 He feels upside down! Let's go ahead, move him back down 10:03 a little bit. It doesn't matter what direction 10:07 he is in, his head could be up, his head could be down 10:10 and that's not a problem because space is a very 10:13 interesting place! Let's bring him back over! 10:16 We can try another position! How about upside down 10:19 the other way! Should we try that? 10:20 yes! You're ready? 10:22 Yes! Not a problem! 10:23 He wouldn't feel like upside down because remember, 10:28 there is no upside down in space and he would be weightless! 10:31 You're doing a good job! 10:33 Hey, give Christian a good job! 10:34 Let's get him back standing up, Jerry! 10:37 Bring him over here! Okay, here we go! Right up here. 10:42 He is a heavy guy! Good Christian! 10:45 We are all traveling in space aren't we? Alright now, 10:48 we're on planet Earth. 10:49 What are we going around? The Sun! 10:52 The Sun! Our star! You know, someday we're going 10:55 to be going even further than that! 10:57 Jerry! Are we gonna be traveling in space in the future? 10:59 What do you think? 11:00 I hope to be traveling in space in the near future 11:03 very soon trough Orion's Belt. To the very gates of the kingdom 11:06 of gods! Wow! Wouldn't that be exciting? 11:08 That's gonna be an exciting trip to make because we're gonna 11:12 see new worlds and new universes and who knows, new galaxies! 11:15 That's gonna be great! Isn't it? Boy we're all astronauts now but 11:19 we're gonna have a trip that's going to be out of this world! 11:23 Right? Absolutely! And every time we learn 11:26 something new about science, we learn something new 11:30 about our Creator! God! 11:32 Story Time 11:38 And that is the story of Moses. Now you kids run along and you 11:43 can go get some bread from the market and I'll 11:46 tell you a story later! Bye! 11:47 Oh, Lucy, Joseph! How you doing? Come and join me! 11:55 Thank you! Thank you! How have you been? 11:58 We've been great, everything's been good! It's been really 12:03 great for us, these few days! I haven't seen you in the 12:07 market lately, where have you been? 12:09 Well, we've been to the Jordan river a lot! 12:12 Oh! I've heard about what's happening in the Jordan river, 12:16 but I haven't actually got there myself, what's going on? 12:19 Tell me! I'm excited to know! 12:21 Well, when we went it was a gentleman, a man who was wearing 12:25 Oh! I've heard about him! John the Baptist! 12:28 Yes, John the Baptist, that's him! And he's wearing an animal 12:33 skin and eating honey and locust! Isn't that crazy? 12:37 Well, the honey sounds good! 12:39 Yes! When he speaks, it's just so 12:43 wonderful to hear him talk! The good things that come out 12:46 of his mouth! What does he talk about? 12:48 Well, he's saying that you have to repent from your sins and 12:51 that you know, get to the river and get baptized 12:55 so you can have a new life! 12:57 Repent from your sins... That's a different message than 13:01 what we're hearing from our priest and rulers for sure! 13:05 Yes, and there's a lot of people there! 13:08 There's a lot of Pharisees and Sadducees, tax collectors, 13:12 all around this man. 13:13 Even soldiers are there! 13:14 Soldiers! Yes, the soldiers are everywhere! 13:19 Some say he is a prophet! This man. 13:21 He has preached of the Messiah? 13:24 He doesn't say he's a Messiah. He has talked and he said that 13:30 someone else it's gonna come, stronger than him, that's not 13:35 gonna baptize with water like he is doing but 13:39 he is gonna baptize with the Holy Spirit! 13:40 That's amazing! I wonder the person he's 13:47 talking about is going to be the Messiah! You know, we've 13:51 all been looking for the Messiah! I know that everybody 13:54 here doesn't believe that, but I know that there's going 13:58 to be a Messiah. But I kind of feel like it's gonna be 14:02 different than what we've been looking for. 14:05 Tell me! Did anything special happen at the Jordan, I mean 14:09 it's baptizing people, when you baptize people, I mean were they 14:13 different or... you know... 14:16 They would go into the water, crying, but when they would come 14:22 out, there was a glow, from their faces! All around them... 14:27 So much happiness. Everybody was so happy after that... 14:30 It was just so powerful! 14:32 Oh! I have got to go sometime! 14:35 And then this man came! A man? 14:37 Came and everybody was looking and then 14:40 John the Baptist said: "Behold, this is the Lamb of God!" 14:43 The Lamb of God! What? How did he look different? 14:47 He didn't look different! He was a normal person. 14:51 He was an ordinary person. 14:52 Fancy clothes, a nice robe? 14:54 No! No! Nothing like that! 14:55 Nothing like that! Regular clothes. 14:57 His face... he was ordinary, nothing beautiful about him 15:03 it was so... Did he look stern? 15:06 He was a strong man! He was stern, but not mean! 15:11 He was gentle! He was not mean in his eyes, 15:14 he has like a peaceful look. Peaceful? 15:17 Peaceful man! 15:19 Not like our priests and rulers? 15:20 No, no, no! He was not judging anyone like them! 15:23 He was loving everyone, he was putting his hand on the people. 15:29 The rulers, the same people that he put his hands on, they were 15:34 disgusted of the same people! They wouldn't touch them! 15:37 They would call them unclean! 15:39 Did he just come to the river, just watch what was happening? 15:44 No! He actually, first John, first John says, he points at 15:49 this man and he says: this is the Man that will take away the 15:54 sins of the world! Behold it! He is the one! 15:57 The one that I have been talking about! He said. This is 16:01 the one! And this man comes and walks 16:06 into the river Jordan and he tells John... 16:10 John the Baptist? John the Baptist to baptize him. 16:13 Well, if he looked like such a good man, why would he need 16:18 to be baptized? It's the same thing everybody 16:20 was asking, that's the same thing we said, right? He looked 16:24 so good, didn't really need a baptism. 16:26 Well what happened after that? 16:28 John told him that he needed to be baptized, not Jesus! 16:34 This man, Jesus, not Jesus, but Jesus told him that 16:39 let it be done, let it be. His name was Jesus, he said 16:44 this is Jesus of Nazareth. So we never heard of him before. 16:48 So did Jesus get baptized? Yes, yes he did! 16:51 He did get baptized. And it was so beautiful! 16:54 I can't even describe the way it was. You had to be there... 17:00 John baptized Jesus, but when he came out of the water, it was 17:07 as if a dove, the Holy Spirit... A dove? 17:08 The shape of a dove came upon this man, Jesus. 17:10 And there was a voice, a loud voice, right? 17:13 The voice! I've heard the voice too! 17:15 What did the voice say? 17:16 Yes, what did he say? The voice: "This is my son, 17:19 my beloved son, who I'm well pleased!" 17:22 He was like God himself saying that. 17:24 That must have been! This is what we've been praying for! 17:29 It must be the beginning of something wonderful! 17:33 He might be the Messiah! 17:34 You know, I feel just when we were talking that I've got to 17:41 find this Jesus, I've got to see him, hear him. 17:42 We are planning to going back! We are going to go there, 17:47 right now! If you wanna join us, we are going back. 17:49 Well, I have a few things to do. 17:50 but I think I will come later on. I'm gonna come to the 17:52 river Jordan too. I wanna hear more about this, and maybe 17:55 I'll get to see this Jesus too! Maybe we will see you there, 17:58 hopefully we will see you there! 17:59 Good bye my friends! Thank you, thank you for sharing! 18:02 Go and see for yourself! Thank you for sharing! 18:03 I think I'm gonna tell some of my friends too. 18:06 Yes, tell everybody! Okay, I hope to see you 18:08 at the Jordan! Brother, brother Levi! 18:17 Music Time 18:21 Shall we gather at the River? 20:14 Sharing Time 20:20 It's time for Miss Brenda's Book of the Day! 20:23 All boys and girls, do I have a wonderful book for you today, 20:27 it's called Secrets of the Canyon, by Colleen L. Or you're just learning how to do that? 23:24 I'm just learning how to do that. 23:26 So you listen a lot so you can learn? That's important too. 23:29 And pretty soon you can talk to the people yourself, never be 23:33 ashamed to share Jesus, everywhere you go, okay? 23:36 Aha!
