00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 Looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:09 It's time to share there's a world out there;
00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hi, boys and girls, do you know when I come here
00:26 to take Kids Time. Sometimes,
00:28 I bring my lunch with me,
00:30 because do you know why
00:31 we only take a short lunch break
00:32 and sometimes I get kind a hungry
00:34 and I just eat right here at the studio.
00:36 Are you curious what in my lunch today
00:38 let's take a look, an apple.
00:41 I love apples look at that doesn't that look good.
00:44 And then we also have a nice wheat sandwich,
00:48 that's looks good. What else I brought,
00:50 I brought some crunchy or some chewy
00:53 granola bars with peanuts.
00:54 And also a fruit nut bar that looks good too doesn't it?
00:57 Well, you know what sometimes I work so hard
01:00 that I don't even realize that I'm hungry
01:02 and you know what I do,
01:03 I just keep on working
01:04 and that's not good either is it.
01:07 But let me tell you something that I have noticed.
01:09 And I think it's really interesting that during
01:12 a long Church service if the preacher tells
01:14 a really interesting story and he goes way
01:17 where he past lunch time.
01:19 You know what, no ones gonna complain
01:21 if the story is really good.
01:23 Well, Bible stories reveal that Jesus
01:25 was such an interesting speaker
01:27 and he was such a great story teller
01:29 that people would sit and listen to him all day long
01:32 and you know what,
01:33 they would forget all about eating.
01:34 Don't you wish you could have been
01:36 there to just hear him?
01:37 I just can't wait till I get to heaven and hear
01:39 Bible stories from the greatest
01:41 story teller that ever lived.
01:43 Well, in our Bible story today,
01:45 we're gonna hear from a women
01:46 who set and listen to Jesus all day long
01:49 without even leaving to get food.
01:51 She didn't wanna miss one word
01:53 that was said because she's stayed and listened,
01:56 she got to see one of Jesus greatest miracles.
01:59 She even got to share the miracle with friends.
02:08 Hi, boys and girls Ranger Jim saying
02:10 welcome to Nature Time,
02:11 we're glad you be with us today.
02:12 We're at the Miami Metro Zoo in Miami, Florida
02:15 and we have some friends with us.
02:16 Maurizio works here as a guide here at the zoo
02:20 and we have a young lady here and who are you?
02:22 Zana, and you? Zayan,
02:24 and we are glad you can be with us.
02:26 What is this Maurizio a beautiful creature? Yeah,
02:29 this is Ranger Jim this is
02:30 sloth bear her name is Dusty,
02:32 she's about 250 pounds
02:34 and she is approximately 13 years old.
02:38 I see and she is very shaggy the reason for that?
02:40 Yeah, the shagginess comes because
02:43 when the babies are born they were actually
02:46 grab on to moms hair especially
02:48 in the back area on her shoulder
02:50 and mom can carry him around,
02:51 when she is out looking for food.
02:53 They just hang it on to mother and they ride around
02:55 with them and that's it yeah
02:57 and she will go around and looking for
02:59 what she is gonna eat.
03:00 Alright, and what food do they eat?
03:01 What would they like to eat? Well, one of the main
03:03 diets of the Sloth Bear in the wild is termites.
03:07 Now this animals is gonna actually sniff
03:08 of the termites and go out looking for them.
03:10 When they finally find a log that they like
03:13 with the front claws they will actually tear up
03:15 the log and once they get to the termites,
03:17 she can actually suck them out with her nozzle.
03:20 Now, she does have specialized nozzle,
03:22 she is actually missing her front teeth
03:24 and she can create a vacuum
03:26 to just be able suck them out.
03:28 Yum, yum, good old termite they can have.
03:30 Yeah, alright and so the long claws,
03:32 I see the long claws are almost
03:34 as long as the grizzly bear.
03:35 Right, right and they can even tear them to,
03:37 they are like some men aren't those termites' mounts
03:39 that we see very tough and she can tear them open.
03:42 Well, Jim I give you an example,
03:43 it takes her about two man as to tear up
03:46 a whole coconut to get to the inside.
03:48 Amazing, yeah, you have to chop those
03:49 with machine to tear them light that right yeah,
03:51 alright and what part of the world we find this bear.
03:54 Well, the sloth bear is found in India,
03:56 there is located pretty much all of over India.
03:59 There is about 7000 to 10,000 of these guys
04:03 live in the wild, so they're actually
04:04 doing pretty good, they are not in danger.
04:06 well that's good to know like that.
04:08 Now, how many babies which she normally have?
04:11 She will normally have about 2 to 3 babies
04:13 and they would typically stay near mother for a year
04:17 or so before they went out and find their own territory.
04:19 Yeah, normally is about 2 to 3 years
04:21 that the babies will hang out with mom.
04:23 Then they would go out and
04:25 establish their own territory.
04:26 Now, how long will be expecting
04:28 in the wild one of these bears to live.
04:29 You're talking about 15 to 20 years
04:31 is a life expectancy for one of these animals.
04:34 Well doesn't too bad, the grizzly bears
04:38 and some of the other may live longer then that,
04:40 right now if this bear looks like
04:43 just a soft cuddly bear.
04:45 But you told me before we're talking that you never,
04:48 no one ever goes into this cage right
04:50 yeah they're not trained at all.
04:52 They still have all their teeth and all their claws
04:54 and she will like cause some damage on us
04:58 if we happened to go in their accidentally.
05:01 And so boys and girls we have talked about
05:03 this before even with professionals
05:04 that work with these animals everyday.
05:07 They may look like your pet at home,
05:08 but they are not.
05:09 And so I would caution you again,
05:11 when we go and see animals like this
05:14 if we're in the zoo
05:15 and we do lot of this work and sometime
05:17 I'm embarrassed by children some of the things they do
05:19 when you are in a zoo
05:20 and we're visiting with these animals,
05:22 we want to respect them,
05:23 we want to respect the zoo.
05:25 And then we have an opportunity to see them
05:27 and learn about them and understand them
05:29 and have a better idea what God gave us
05:31 and so this is Ranger Jim as always boys and girls
05:34 saying don't forget to tell Jesus
05:36 that you love him, because he really does love you.
05:47 For LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
05:50 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
05:53 he leadeth me beside the still waters.
05:55 He restoreth my soul:
05:57 he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
05:59 for his name sake. Psalms 23:123.
06:08 In God's green pastures feeding,
06:10 by His cool waters lie,
06:13 Soft in the evening walk my Lord and I;
06:17 All the sheep of His pasture fare so wondrously fine,
06:24 His sheep am I.
06:28 Waters cool, in the valley; pastures green,
06:32 on the mountain In the evening
06:36 walk my Lord and I; Dark the night,
06:40 in the valley; rough the way, on the mountain,
06:44 Step by step, step by step; my Lord and I.
06:49 n God's green pastures feeding,
06:52 by His cool waters lie,
06:55 Soft in the evening walk my Lord and I;
07:00 All the sheep of His pasture fare so wondrously fine,
07:06 His sheep am I. Waters cool,
07:11 in the valley; pastures green, on the mountain
07:15 In the evening walk my Lord and I;
07:20 Dark the night, in the valley; rough the way,
07:24 on the mountain, Step by step,
07:26 step by step, my Lord and I.
07:40 Welcome to Learning Time,
07:42 I'm glad you joined us today.
07:43 I have got two special helpers with me. Let's see,
07:45 who they are, Jessica thanks for helping us today,
07:48 you are welcome. And Alexander,
07:51 hey are you know I just found your sisters
07:53 aren't you? Yes, we are, but I didn't know that
07:55 before thank you for helping me, yeah.
07:57 You know, today we're gonna do a special
07:59 science experiment and you might be able to do
08:02 similar experiments just like this at home.
08:04 First of all, we're gonna put our safety glasses
08:06 on because you know why?
08:07 We're working with chemicals,
08:09 you like chemicals? No, what? You're kidding,
08:12 well we're gonna do a chemical experiment.
08:15 Now, I happened to have a beaker right here.
08:17 Now, the reason why we are wearing glasses,
08:18 because sometimes glass breaks
08:19 and we will wanna protect our eyes don't we,
08:21 yes we do, that's a good thing isn't it?
08:23 And what's inside of this beaker right here,
08:26 what's in there really I mean air, air.
08:29 Air is a good thing right, yes it is. Yeah,
08:31 we're gonna have this little beaker we're gonna set
08:32 that over here I've got another one here.
08:34 Now, see Alexander you had smelled things,
08:36 yes I do, okay so we're gonna we don't put a nose
08:39 in stuff do we? No because there is a lot of things
08:42 that could hurt us if we just
08:44 smell them for the first time.
08:45 So, you have to make sure that it's okay
08:47 for us to smell. It's okay for you to smell this,
08:49 okay so we put this in front of our nose
08:51 and we kind a wave this smell in.
08:53 That's called wafting, you know how to waft
08:54 don't you? Yes, I do, okay alright so
08:56 she's gonna waft for us.
08:57 She's gonna wave that smell right into her,
09:00 what that smell like, vinegar.
09:02 It smells like vinegar, well it's similar
09:04 well it's really not similar, but it's something
09:06 that we could clean with okay.
09:08 Because it happens to be ammonia, you know,
09:11 a lot of cleaners have ammonia in them.
09:13 So, it's ammonia mix with some water
09:15 and that's what it smells like a cleaner okay, okay.
09:17 And then we have something else over here.
09:20 Now, why don't you smell this,
09:23 you gonna do it at the same way.
09:24 You're gonna waft that smell right in
09:26 and then see what,
09:27 what's that smell like, vinegar, oh!
09:30 That's the vinegar, the vinegar such a strong smell
09:32 everything smells like vinegar up here.
09:35 Now, let's do a little experiment
09:36 with this stuff, are you ready? Yes sir, okay
09:38 now we're gonna take this beaker
09:40 and why don't you pour
09:42 your liquid right inside here,
09:45 can you pour that in them for us, okay.
09:46 Let's see what happens, what happened,
09:51 it turned in what colors pink, it turned pink.
09:53 Isn't that interesting? Wow! Now,
09:56 something happened that was interesting
09:58 before you came on stage up here, you know
10:00 we did we've put an indicator for PH.
10:03 PH is, it tells us what is something is base
10:07 or an acid or alkaline. And in fact
10:11 that was ammonia wasn't it? Cleaner
10:12 and that is very, very basic,
10:14 it's basic, it's alkaline and that's why it turned pink
10:17 or red what ever color that is.
10:19 Now, Jessica I'm gonna have you pour this
10:23 acid in here, that's acid there isn't it? Yeah,
10:26 what kind of acid was it? Vinegar,
10:27 it was vinegar, vinegar is an acid.
10:29 You know, we put acid on our food,
10:31 you put acid on your food.
10:33 Yes, you put vinegar on your salad,
10:36 vinegar dressing, yeah. Oh! Yeah,
10:37 it's wonderful isn't? So,
10:39 she's gonna pour some of that acid right
10:42 in this base solution let's watch see
10:44 what happens, look at, look at that.
10:47 What happened? It change into white,
10:50 it changed in there. We changed that base solution
10:53 and then instead of our base we ended up
10:55 with the acid solution, isn't that interesting.
10:59 And that's called chemistry
11:00 isn't chemistry fun? Yes,
11:01 it is, you know that kind of reminds me
11:03 of something very interesting.
11:04 Do, you remember the story,
11:06 one of the very first miracles that God
11:10 that Jesus ever did was to turn what into what?
11:14 Water into wine, water into that
11:17 sparkling grape juice, isn't that interesting?
11:19 Yes, it is, we just about did the same thing
11:21 didn't we? No, we really didn't we, so
11:23 we got a bunch of chemicals,
11:25 but God did that wonderful miracle and chemistry
11:27 when we do it like this, it reminds me of that story.
11:31 Everytime we learn something new
11:33 about science, we learn something
11:35 new about our creator God.
12:43 Oh! Hello, Hannah how are you doing?
12:45 It's so good to see you remember my children,
12:47 this is Mary and Daniel and Kelley. Oh,
12:50 they are grown. I must hurry that
12:52 I'm in a very big pray, we have company
12:54 coming for dinner and I want some of that
12:56 great bake bread that's you knew what
12:58 I always wanted didn't you?
12:59 You will like that bread I know and some of that
13:01 dry bread too please. Oh! Certainly and oh! Yes,
13:05 and your bread is so good, I would like that,
13:08 nobody makes better bread than you do Hannah.
13:10 Oh! Thank you, thank you and maybe
13:12 a few loaf just for the children. Okay,
13:15 okay surely, okay we will just put some more
13:19 right in there. Okay, okay, okay there we go
13:22 that sounds wonderful. Thank you so much,
13:24 how much is that, couple of shekels,
13:27 2 shekels Kelley can you pay?
13:28 Hannah take 2 shekels, thank you so much,
13:31 we will see you again next week, you do that.
13:33 So, we have so much shopping to do, thank you
13:35 Hannah bye, bye so good to see you again.
13:37 Okay, oh! Sister Hannah how are you.
13:40 Elizabeth, it's so good to see you,
13:44 it's so good to see you too. Oh! Rachael,
13:46 Rachael is walking I can't believe it.
13:49 Oh! Rachael how is that possible.
13:53 Sister Hannah, she hasn't walked in months.
13:55 You know what, she met Jesus.
13:57 She met Jesus where, he took her on his lap
14:01 and he healed her. He healed her, yes
14:04 just yesterday. How is that possible?
14:07 Well we were all at the hill side,
14:10 where Jesus stays. Oh! I so wanting to go,
14:13 I missed it, did you ever miss it.
14:15 You will not believe what happened.
14:17 Oh! Tell me, it was awesome,
14:19 a miracle obviously. There was probably,
14:22 what would you say about 5000 man and plus women
14:25 and children there I was thinking,
14:27 she loves camp crowds and we lost kind in camp.
14:29 crowds and we lost kind in camp.
14:30 But we kind a check with the disciples have been,
14:32 oh, that's amazing. It was amazing
14:35 and we were so happy and he here we were
14:37 she couldn't take her eyes off Jesus
14:39 after he healed her. Well I could,
14:41 don't blame her.
14:43 I'm sure you couldn't too sister dear,
14:45 I know that it was such a wonderful miracle.
14:47 But that wasn't the biggest,
14:49 that wasn't even the biggest of all the miracles,
14:51 even though there was such big miracle for us.
14:53 I was here to say, how could you have
14:54 a bigger miracle than that. Well, we stood
14:56 there all day; the kids never complained about eating,
14:58 I never even thought to even get a loaf of bread.
15:01 Well, I'm sure you must have brought a lunch,
15:03 nothing, I had nothing, and we stood there all day
15:07 and listened to Jesus. You know, when
15:09 he speaks I could not take my eyes off a bit, yes.
15:13 I feel the same way sister dear.
15:15 He is just such a wonderful
15:17 Well, I saw the disciples he talked to disciples
15:22 and he motion that everybody sit down
15:24 and so everybody all over the hill side
15:27 sat down all of us.
15:29 And when I looked around I
15:30 realized, just on the grass, yeah just on the grass.
15:33 He didn't tell them to go home and get,
15:34 no he tell to all to sit down and then it was
15:36 a little boy in front and I saw I think his
15:38 name was Andrew, was it Andrew.
15:40 Andrew one of the disciples, yes, yes
15:43 he went over and ask the little boy for his lunch
15:46 and then he took the little boys lunch.
15:48 He took, a grow man took a little boys lunch.
15:51 I'm telling you, I couldn't believe it myself
15:53 and then he took it over to Jesus.
15:55 I'm sure Jesus told to give a back to him right.
15:57 No, Jesus didn't tell him to give the little boy back
16:01 his lunch. Look at this loaf about five loafs like this
16:05 and two fishes. Little loafs like that,
16:08 little loafs and then Jesus
16:10 he told after we were all sitting there,
16:13 we are watching him. He took the loaves and
16:15 he raised it up and he prayed to our great God in
16:18 Heaven and asked him to bless the bread
16:22 and the fishes. And then when he was done,
16:24 he ask for big baskets,
16:25 what ever had a big basket alone baskets
16:27 and he began to break off the bread
16:30 and he broke off one and a small.
16:33 Wait a minute, wait a minute; sister dear,
16:34 he broke a filled basket with small loaf.
16:38 Exactly that's not possible,
16:39 he kept breaking and breaking and breaking
16:42 and the last loaf and the last fish
16:44 just kept going and going. No.
16:46 He filled I saw must have been.
16:48 It must have been 20 baskets
16:50 with just one little loaf of bread, I lost count.
16:53 Daniel isn't that amazing really?
16:54 And then he took out and he passed it all around,
16:57 my Rachael just loved it.
16:59 We ate as much as we could.
17:00 I think Joanna loved it, it's anything.
17:03 She had at least 3 or 4 pieces
17:05 and plus the fish and it was so filling,
17:08 but it was tasting better then any bread like
17:11 I see you brought bread sister.
17:13 Sister, well you know how precious the baker
17:16 Hannah she makes the best bread in town.
17:18 Nobody makes bread better than Hannah.
17:20 Except for Jesus, when Jesus touches,
17:23 touch that simple little loafs of bread.
17:27 The touch did something different,
17:28 it tasted so wonderful
17:32 I never have bread like that before.
17:34 Really and when I ate it, it was like this joy came
17:36 over me because I begin to think
17:38 that not only had he filled our hearts
17:42 all day with this wonderful piece, yes, yes.
17:45 But sister, he also took care of our hunger
17:50 he cared about our physical hunger.
17:51 Jesus is so lovely and kind,
17:54 he cares about our every need. Yes,
17:56 he does, I couldn't believe it, but you know
17:58 what sister. I think I took up,
18:00 I think it was 1, 2, 3, was 12 baskets, yes,
18:03 it was 12 baskets of food afterwards
18:07 and we all took some home
18:08 and I took some for you too.
18:10 Because I just hadn't had time together,
18:11 you do, yes and I wanted a loaf for Daniel
18:13 and Kelley, and to Mary. Yes, would you all like to
18:16 come over later and I will give you some.
18:17 I would you know I have just a little bit
18:19 more shopping to do and I would love,
18:20 wouldn't you love to taste that bread.
18:23 You say nothing compares not even Hannah's bread.
18:26 Listen you come and taste it for yourself,
18:28 it is absolutely wonderful. We had to get a few grapes
18:31 and a few things for supper and you come on over
18:34 don't bother to bring your bread,
18:35 I will give you this little loaf,
18:37 we will give you some of Jesus
18:38 blessed bread. Oh! Sister,
18:40 I'm so disappointed I couldn't have gone
18:42 there myself. He's coming,
18:45 I think he was, isn't he gonna be somewhere
18:47 tomorrow over on the other hill side, yes.
18:49 So, we can go to, are you go with me.
18:51 I would love to, we would all love to go,
18:53 children wouldn't that be wonderful. Okay,
18:55 well listen, okay I'm hurry
18:56 and I want to go and take care of our needs
18:58 and we will meet you back at the house,
18:59 okay, okay thank you so much for the wonderful news.
19:01 Jesus will take care of that clock too.
19:03 Oh! Wonderful, thank you so much
19:05 little Mary has been sick,
19:06 okay thank you bye. Oh! Children
19:09 isn't that wonderful we're gonna go.
19:22 Don't say something that isn't nice
19:26 Better listen to this advice
19:30 When your mouth is making fun
19:32 You could really hurt someone
19:34 So keep your lips together and Shhh...
19:38 If you can't say something, that's good and true.
19:47 There is only one thing you should do, Shhh, Shhh...
19:51 Don't say something that isn't nice
19:55 Better listen to this advice
19:59 When your mouth is making fun
20:02 You could really hurt someone
20:04 So keep your lips together and Shhh...
20:16 It's time for Miss Brenda's Book of the Day
20:18 and all boys and girls what a wonderful book this is.
20:22 This is the book of the life of Jacob from
20:25 the Bible and it's written by
20:26 a very special friend of Miss. Brenda's
20:28 by Ruth Redding Brand,
20:29 you were not gonna wanna miss this book.
20:31 Jacob laid a clever plot to steal
20:34 the birthright blessing from his brother,
20:35 Esau, a hunter. And Esau was furious!
20:38 Jacob fled for safety to his uncle Laban.
20:41 But what goes around comes around,
20:42 and so the trickster was tricked-he asked Laban
20:45 for the hand of Rachel, but woke up
20:47 to find he'd gotten Leah instead.
20:50 Now, over the years his family grew,
20:52 and the descendants would become
20:54 the 12 tribes of Israel. His lost son, Joseph,
20:57 would become the prince of Egypt.
20:58 But first Jacob had to deal with angry Esau,
21:01 and his band of soldiers. Would God save him
21:04 from his brother or from himself?
21:06 Oh! Boys and girls you're gonna have to wait
21:09 and read this book it is a wonderful book.
