00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:06 looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there;
00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:27 Oh! Hi, boys and girls, I was just reading
00:29 the newspaper, checking out what's happening
00:31 in the news today, and you know,
00:32 there really isn't a lot of good news daily.
00:35 Now, if the newspaper reported that Jesus
00:37 is coming soon, now that would be good news,
00:40 wouldn't it? But then we don't need the
00:42 newspapers to tell us that. Anyone who reads
00:44 their Bible and pays attention to the things
00:46 that are happening in the world, knows
00:48 that Jesus is coming soon. If you read some
00:51 of the big city newspapers you are bound
00:53 to come across some stories about gangs
00:55 of young boys and girls who band together
00:57 in groups and they fight against each other.
01:00 Now it can be very dangerous to live
01:01 in an area where gangs hang out,
01:03 and gangs have been known to drive through
01:05 quiet neighborhoods and you know what they do?
01:07 They shoot at houses just for fun.
01:10 Jesus says that increasing violence
01:12 in the world would be one of the many signs
01:14 that his coming near, and it might surprise
01:17 you to know, however, that there were gangs
01:19 even in Bible times. That's right and in fact
01:23 our Bible story today is about a gang
01:25 of young men who decided that they didn't
01:27 like too young missionaries and they didn't like
01:30 what those missionaries were preaching,
01:31 so you know what they did.
01:33 They burst into the home of a friend where they
01:35 were staying intending to rough them up a little bit
01:38 and what do you think happened next,
01:40 I am not going to tell you.
01:41 You're gonna have to wait for your
01:42 Bible story in just a few minutes.
01:49 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim sayings
01:51 welcome to nature time. We're glad that
01:52 you can join us today, we're at the
01:54 Miami Metro Zoo in Miami, Florida.
01:56 And this is my friend Crystal, she is a primate
01:59 keeper here in the Zoo and she is going to tell us
02:01 something about this beautiful creature.
02:02 Crystal, what are these things?
02:03 These are orangutans. Orangutans.
02:06 Yes. Well, tell us about them?
02:07 Well, actually orangutans are solitary animals.
02:10 They live by themselves. Most people don't know
02:12 that and because of that they're antisocial,
02:15 they are very shy animals that's why
02:17 he has his back to us,
02:18 he is kind of looking at us just right now.
02:20 But they are very solitary.
02:22 They are very solitary, in the wild males
02:24 and females don't even live together.
02:25 In captivity, you can see some of them together
02:28 but not like two grown adults,
02:30 you can't see them together because
02:31 they don't usually get along.
02:32 They can be really, really aggressive too.
02:35 They're just antisocial, just like some people.
02:38 There are people who are like that.
02:39 Well, tell us something about what they eat?
02:41 What do these creature live on?
02:42 They actually don't eat a lot of food,
02:44 because as you see they're kind of sitting
02:45 around the house, they're very slow moving
02:47 animals but they mainly eat fruit and vegetables,
02:50 so eat a lot of different leaves and they'll eat
02:52 the bark off of the trees and they also use the
02:54 trees to make a nest with though.
02:56 They'll bundle them all over, and make a
02:58 nice a little bed, and they sleep in that.
02:59 In the tree? Yes. Just make a nest in the tree,
03:03 sleep up in the tree.
03:04 In a while you wouldn't even see them
03:05 on the ground because they would be way up
03:07 in the trees and they would have a nice pretty
03:09 nest that they build to make a little bed
03:11 and then they'll sleep in it for a little while.
03:13 They'll move on to another tree later
03:15 to make another nest because they will
03:17 never sleep in the same nest twice.
03:18 And that really serves as protection then doesn't it?
03:21 Absolutely, and that's why it's so important that
03:24 we take care of the rainforest because
03:25 they need a lot of trees in order to survive.
03:27 There once again, that's a problem isn't it.
03:29 Yes. As with intrude into their area and cut down
03:32 trees and it causes problem for those creatures.
03:34 Well, what about reproduction?
03:36 How many babies would they have?
03:37 They don't give out too many babies,
03:39 an adult female which actually we have one
03:42 coming out right now. If, she is lucky?
03:45 She'll have five kids in her entire life time,
03:47 and that's like over forty years. That's a long time.
03:51 And then they would live with their mother
03:52 for sometime and then. It's a really strong
03:55 commitment between mom and baby.
03:56 And the baby will stay with her mom for
03:58 a good 4 to 8 years. So the learning process
04:02 is slow with those creatures.
04:03 Everything is slow and slows down like that.
04:05 That's right. So, I have seen them many times
04:07 and didn't know much about them and so
04:09 this was an opportunity, we thought we would
04:11 come and give the boys and girls a chance
04:14 to see these creatures. You have a treat, I see.
04:17 I have some peanuts out here; Butch!
04:19 Lets see if we can wake him up a little bit.
04:21 He is looking; he looks at us, but he is trying
04:24 to make sure that we are not really noticing him.
04:26 So he is just slow down and he is sort
04:29 of antisocial, when it comes to him..
04:30 So, boys and girls we've learned about
04:32 the orangutan. This is Ranger Jim saying,
04:35 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love
04:37 him because he really does love you.
04:47 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those
04:50 who fear him and deliver them.
04:53 Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.
04:56 Psalm 34:7 and 8.
05:06 Sun is setting in the west,
05:10 angels watching over me my Lord.
05:14 Sleep my child, take your rest,
05:18 angels watching over me. All night, all day,
05:27 angels watching over me, my Lord.
05:31 All night, all day, angels watching over me.
05:40 Sun is setting in the west,
05:43 angels watching over me my Lord.
05:48 Sleep my child, take your rest,
05:52 angels watching over me. All night, all day,
06:00 angels watching over me, my Lord.
06:05 All night, all day, angels watching over me.
06:13 All night, all day, angels watching
06:19 over me, my Lord.
06:22 All night, all day, angels watching over me.
06:30 Angels watching over me.
06:45 Welcome to learning time. I'm glad you joined us
06:48 today and today we've got a couple of special
06:51 helpers well, this, I've got Diel up here
06:53 and I've got Brandon. Now, you might like
06:56 to work as well as my two friends over here.
06:59 Let's find out what kind of work Diel
07:01 likes to do. Do you like to work?
07:02 Yes. What you like to do? Mow the lawn.
07:05 Mow the law. Well, do you mow the
07:07 lawn with your teeth. No. What do you use?
07:11 A lawn mower A lawn mower,
07:13 It's a machine, isn't it? So use machines
07:15 to help us do some work. Brandon,
07:17 what kind of work do you like to do?
07:19 Do the dishes. Do the dishes.
07:20 Hey, and that's good because we need some
07:23 clean dishes. Well, we're gonna do some work
07:24 today and some of you might do all kinds
07:27 of different jobs and that's work,
07:29 but we want to make work as easy as possible,
07:31 don't we? Otherwise we get just worn out,
07:33 and I don't, do you like to be worn out.
07:35 No. No. I don't think so. Now today we're going
07:38 to lift the suitcase up in the air and we're going
07:42 to use a simple machine in order to help us
07:44 to do that work today.
07:45 What does this look like guys? A hook. A hook,
07:49 that's right and what's this right here.
07:51 A roller. A roller and that's what we call
07:53 a pulley. Today we're going to use the pulley.
07:55 I am going to go ahead and hook this pulley up
07:57 right here on this rope and I've got my big
08:01 long rope. And then come over here,
08:02 and I'll tell you what I'm going to do.
08:04 I'm going to hand the other end of this rope
08:06 here to Brandon. Why don't you grab a hold
08:07 of the rope there and I am going to go ahead
08:09 and tie my suitcase right on to the end of the rope.
08:12 Now I am going to ask Brandon,
08:14 if he would just pull. Let's move back
08:16 a little bit right here. Can you just pull your
08:19 suitcase up by pulling back or down.
08:22 Now, Brandon is pulling down, right, pull down.
08:24 As Brandon pulls down which
08:27 direction is the suitcase going?
08:28 Up. It's going up. That's why we call a direction
08:32 advantage. And this suitcase weighs 35 pounds
08:35 and Brandon is pulling 35 pounds.
08:38 It's a mechanical advantage of one.
08:41 He has to pull the same weight, but it goes up
08:44 and he pulls down, now you can go ahead
08:45 and let it down for us Brandon. Oh! It'll almost
08:48 jerk you up there too, didn't it?
08:49 Now what we gonna do is we're gonna untie
08:52 this and today we're going to make work a lot easier.
08:57 Now you like to work easier, don't you? Yes.
08:59 Well, absolutely, and so in order to do that,
09:01 we could another what? Pully
09:05 A pulley, of course, hey, this would be kind a fun,
09:07 wouldn't it? So I am going to add another pulley.
09:09 Anytime we add more pulleys we have more
09:13 of a mechanical advantage. And you know
09:16 what a mechanical advantage means?
09:18 What does it mean? Does it mean
09:20 we work harder or less?
09:21 Less. It works less. Okay, we have less force
09:25 and so I am going to go ahead and tie this on
09:27 there and we are going to give this back to Brandon
09:30 again and see if he can lift this up. And Brandon,
09:33 I want you to tell me whether or not you have
09:36 to pull more or less. If he has to use more force
09:40 or less force. Go ahead; lets get it going up
09:42 in the air. Is that easier Brandon?
09:45 Oh! Yeah. Oh! Yeah, a lot easier.
09:47 Can you hold that with one hand.
09:48 Can you hold, look at he is holding it with one hand.
09:51 Look at that 35 pounds, okay, lets let it down.
09:54 Alright let it right down here.
09:56 Hey that is a good advantage of mechanical
09:58 advantage of two. Hang on that rope
10:01 for me for a minute. Get it kind of out of our way.
10:03 Now what we're gonna do is we're gonna take
10:05 these two pulleys down and we're gonna move
10:08 the rope way over here. Now I got some work
10:12 for Deil to do. You said, you like to work,
10:14 don't you? Well, hey, let's check this out.
10:18 Wow! Can we count the pulleys on this
10:20 thing right here? There is how many at the top.
10:23 Lets count 1, 2, 3, 4. Lets count the once
10:27 on the bottom, 1, 2, 3, so we have four plus three
10:32 and how much does-that make?
10:34 Four plus three, you know we do math
10:36 in science too, don't we? What is four plus three?
10:38 Seven. It's seven; sure hey that's fun to do.
10:41 Now, we're gonna hook this block and tackle that's
10:45 what we can call this thing right now.
10:46 It's a block and a tackle. It's just a bunch of
10:49 pulleys together. Hey, this is going to be fun.
10:52 We're gonna do some work right here.
10:54 Lets let this big rope down and I'm going to
10:56 hang you this end of that rope, okay, Deil,
10:58 now let's go ahead and put this hook,
11:01 right on the suitcase over here.
11:03 Maybe the suitcase weighs 35 pounds
11:05 and Deil doesn't weigh a whole lot more than that,
11:08 hey, why don't you go ahead, you think Deil
11:10 can make that suitcase go up in the air.
11:12 Yes. He's got a mechanical advantage right here.
11:16 He's got rope and pulley, let's go ahead Deil.
11:18 Pull that thing up. And he is tugging on this thing
11:21 and it's coming up, keep going,
11:22 he's doing a great, look at that. Man, he is hardly
11:25 even struggling. Okay, right there, can you hold
11:28 that with one hand. Look one hand, 35 pounds,
11:31 isn't that amazing? Is that amazing?
11:34 Yes. Okay, you can let it down for us
11:37 and he is doing a lot of work.
11:38 Work is fun to do just as long as we work smart.
11:42 Now, how many of you like to work smart?
11:45 Oh! That's the best thing. Let's just work smart
11:47 all the time and you know, the advantage
11:50 was the pulleys, right. We added more pulleys
11:52 and it made work easier, didn't it? You know,
11:55 you know God wants us to have work that's easier
11:58 and you know sometimes we think that life is hard
12:01 and everything because we try to do it all
12:03 on our own like, like using the one pulley
12:05 and that was hard, wasn't it Brandon?
12:07 Oh it's hard. But when we use more pulleys
12:10 it's like trusting in God to help us with the things
12:13 that we got to do. And it becomes easier,
12:15 that's the mechanical advantage
12:17 and we can have an advantage if we trust in God
12:20 and he will help us do some things and that's really
12:22 interesting. Remember, when we learn more about
12:25 science we're learning more about our creator God.
12:40 The Lord heard Daniel and the Lord hears me,
12:45 the Lord heard Daniel and the Lord hears me,
12:49 'cause Daniel prayed to him got saved in from the den.
12:54 The Lord heard Daniel and the Lord hears me.
12:59 The Lord heard Moses and the Lord hears me,
13:03 the Lord heard Moses and the Lord hears me,
13:07 from chariots saved his people
13:10 and God hold back the sea.
13:12 the Lord heard Moses and the Lord hears me.
13:16 the Lord heard David and the Lord hears me,
13:21 the Lord heard David and the Lord hears me.
13:25 The giant he did fight to show God's power
13:29 and might, the Lord heard David
13:32 and the Lord hears me.
13:34 The Lord will answer when he hears me.
13:39 The Lord will answer when he hears me.
13:44 If I just say a pray I know that he is there.
13:48 The Lord will answer and he hears me.
14:12 Of course you can. How are you today?
14:14 Perfect. Yes, may I have another one of those
14:16 loaves please and they're my husband's favorite.
14:20 You know what kind that is?
14:21 I will take that one and that one
14:23 and you know what throw in one also for
14:26 me to work. Okay, there you go. Great.
14:28 That be 4 Denarius. There you go, take care.
14:30 Excuse me. Hi, Honey, how are you?
14:38 Hello my loving wife. How are you?
14:40 Good. Look what I brought for you.
14:43 Your favorites and I know you love those.
14:47 So I made sure to get three of those for you.
14:49 How about that? I thank you so very much,
14:51 but you know I don't really have an appetite today.
14:54 No appetite. I don't believe that, no,
14:57 I have never known you to not have
14:58 an appetite after all the years we've been married.
15:01 No appetite. Well, you wouldn't believe
15:04 what happen at the house while you were out
15:05 shopping today. Well, what happened?
15:07 Tell me about it. Well, you know Paul and Silas
15:09 have been staying with us for several weeks.
15:11 Don't you just love those boys?
15:13 They are just so respectful and they love the Lord
15:15 and that's what I love the most.
15:16 They do love the Lord and they have been doing
15:18 a wonderful job preaching at the synagogue.
15:20 They really, really have. So why you looking so sad?
15:23 Well, you know, they've been preaching about
15:24 the Lord Jesus. That's right. And they've been
15:26 preaching about the sacrifice of Christ.
15:28 That's true. And they've been turning men
15:30 and women to a new way of life
15:32 and a new way of living in Jesus Christ our Lord,
15:35 and many, many people have been impressed
15:37 and have decided to follow the Master.
15:39 Well, Praise the Lord for that, so why are you
15:42 looking so sad with good news like that?
15:44 Well, because everybody is not impressed
15:47 with their preaching. Well, you know what.
15:48 You win some and you lose some.
15:50 So don't worry about it. You can't please everybody,
15:53 in due time they will give their hearts to the Lord.
15:55 Well, that is true because many of the Greeks
15:58 have given their heart to the master
15:59 and, that's right, many of the women of town,
16:01 that's right, have given the hearts to the master.
16:03 But the problem is some of our
16:05 Jewish brothers and sisters. Well, you know
16:07 what, don't worry about them, honey,
16:08 don't even let them hit you down.
16:10 Well, I wish I could just ignore it,
16:13 but some of our Jewish friends well,
16:16 they got this group of boys, you know that group
16:18 of young rough boys that hang out over there
16:21 by the carpenter shop. Yeah, I know exactly
16:24 who you're talking about. I have problems with them
16:26 sometimes and I am coming past,
16:28 they are saying things and they're making remarks,
16:31 I just, I don't know about those boys but
16:33 what do they have to do with anything.
16:34 Well, this group of Jewish brothers and sisters
16:36 got that group all stirred up.
16:38 They got them in an uproar and they came
16:41 to our house looking for Paul and Silas.
16:43 You telling me those boys came to our house?
16:46 They came to our house. They went through
16:47 our house, looking for Paul and Silas.
16:50 I can not believe it. Well, what happened?
16:52 Why were they there, I mean well,
16:55 what are they looking for Paul and Silas for?
16:57 They were there because they said that
16:58 Paul and Silas had stirred up the entire world.
17:01 But for the better, don't they know that.
17:03 Yes. They accused us of harboring these two men
17:08 for against Caesar. They said, Paul and Silas
17:11 are preaching against Caesar and they accused us
17:14 of harboring Paul and Silas in our home.
17:16 But they are preaching the truth.
17:18 Don't they understand that? They are preaching love.
17:23 Well, My love, I guess they don't accept that
17:26 because they went through our house,
17:27 they couldn't find Paul and Silas.
17:28 They laid hands on me and all of our friends.
17:31 Are you hurt, honey are you fine?
17:32 Oh! I am fine. I am fine now, but it was traumatic
17:34 experience. They grabbed me, they grabbed
17:36 our friends. They took us down before the leaders
17:39 of the city. They accused us of preaching another
17:41 King besides Caesar, and I had to pay a fine
17:44 and we got in trouble with the authorities of the town.
17:47 But you are, we have to pay money,
17:49 they are preaching the true King.
17:51 That is true, but they got the town in an uproar,
17:55 we had to pay a fine. They finally let us go
17:58 and we made sure though that Paul and Silas
18:00 got out of the city safely. Oh! Praise The Lord..
18:03 So they are on their way to another city.
18:05 They got out safely in fact, I think I should go
18:09 to the town hall and make sure that
18:12 Paul and Silas did get on their way.
18:14 So I'm gonna take my leave and
18:16 and I'm come back and see you a little bit later.
18:17 But I want to just make sure that they
18:18 got out of town. Okay. So I will see you later.
18:20 Take care of yourself, be safe,
18:22 be safe, now, okay. Bye, bye.
20:00 I am here with my friends Angel and Vanessa
20:03 and they're going to help me tell you
20:04 that it's time for Miss Brenda's Book of the Day.
20:08 And yes it is and boys and girls,
20:11 I have a special book today for the tiny tots,
20:14 for the little ones. They're gonna want this book.
20:16 It's called "Five Little Gifts" it's by
20:19 Paul B Ricchiuti and it's about our five senses
20:22 and it says, think about these five little gifts
20:24 you have. You can taste, you can feel,
20:27 you can smell and you can hear things too
20:29 and don't forget your eyes that's see,
20:32 isn't it fun. Our God is so good,
20:35 He gave us all these things when he made us,
20:38 now, aren't you glad He did.
20:40 I know I am this is for the little ones out
20:43 there five little gifts by Paul B. Ricchiuti.
20:46 Well, I have some very special friends with me
20:48 today and I would like to you to meet them.
20:51 I have Angel and Vanessa and Angel
20:54 you has such a beautiful smile.
20:55 You have a smile like an Angel,
20:57 huh! Tell me what do you do to share to Jesus?
21:01 I share Jesus by telling children and
21:04 friends that it's not good to smoke.
21:07 No, it's not. What happens if you, Do you have,
21:10 met any friends who smoke or wanted to?
21:12 Yes. You have. Then, how old were they,
21:15 were they like? Thirteen.
21:17 Thirteen year old, and what happened?
21:20 I told her that it wasn't good to smoke,
21:22 because she could have cancer
21:24 and I asked her about the ten commandments,
21:26 and I told her that's not good and God wants you
21:29 to keep his commandments and keep her so safe.
21:34 Umh! That's right. And did she get mad
21:37 at you, when you told her that?
21:38 No, she was happier. She was happier,
21:40 so she wasn't offended that you asked her
21:42 not to smoke. It's like, when you really care
21:44 about someone you want them to be healthy,
21:45 don't you? That's right. And Vanessa,
21:48 what do you do to share Jesus?
21:49 I share Jesus by giving out cards and.
21:55 What kind of cards? Like cards that are cut out
21:59 from papers or I gave like DVDs out that show us
22:08 what Jesus, what a lamb looks like when
22:13 Jesus comes down. Oh! So they are like stories
22:17 about the Bible or stories about heaven
22:19 and on the DVDs? Yeah. And you give those to people.
22:22 What do people say when you give those to them?
22:24 Well, sometimes they can't say nothing because
22:27 sometimes at home so I just write them
22:30 on the door. But if they're home,
22:33 if you ever had anyone say thank you so much for that.
22:37 They seemed happy. Well, that's good.
22:40 Well, that's a wonderful way to share Jesus.
22:42 But you know what right now I have a lap full
22:45 of letters from kids and boys and girls that love
22:48 to share Jesus too and let's read some of
