00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:06 Looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:10 It's time to share there's a world out
00:13 there; let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hello, boys and girls. You know,
00:26 I once heard a story about Amy Carmichael.
00:28 She was a young woman who worked with a
00:30 missionary in India. Now she operated an orphanage
00:33 for girls and she had to hired many of the local
00:35 natives to help her running. Now some of the people
00:38 she hired were from some very wealthy families,
00:41 and these people had never had to work hard a
00:43 day in their life. Once when one of the worker
00:46 was complaining about having this scrub floor
00:48 she didn't want to do that. Do you know,
00:50 what Amy did, Amy got down on her hands and knees
00:53 without saying a word she just started scrubbing
00:56 that floor herself right in front of the woman
00:58 who was complaining. Now what could that woman say,
01:02 if her employer was willing to scrub the floor
01:04 then she better get used to doing them too.
01:07 Amy Carmichael had master the art of teaching
01:10 by example and what made her great teacher
01:12 was her willingness to be a servant. You know,
01:15 good servants can be trusted to do what they're
01:17 told even when no one is standing over them
01:19 to make sure the job gets done. You know,
01:22 boys and girls the greatest servant of all was Jesus.
01:26 He only get the will of his father in heaven
01:28 and not his own will. And just like Amy Carmichael
01:32 he never asked anything of his followers
01:34 that he was willing to do himself.
01:38 Alright now let's go and see what
01:39 Ranger Jim has to show us.
01:52 Oh! Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim's saying
01:53 welcome to "Nature Time" can you believe where
01:56 we are today, at beautiful Raccoon Mountain
01:59 Caverns near Chattanooga, Tennessee.
02:01 We have our friend Patty with us
02:02 and she is to take us for a tour today.
02:05 And boys and girls I am really excited about showing
02:07 you our cave. Let's go see.
02:17 Ranger Jim, can you set this down for me please?
02:20 Sure I will I put them over out of the way.
02:22 Thank you, we gonna talk all about how caves
02:24 are formed. There are many different kinds of caves
02:27 boys and girls. Some caves are lava tube caves
02:31 formed from molten rock flowing in the outer
02:34 surface hardens. Other caves are caused by Sea water,
02:39 waves crashing into the clay, washing, carving it out.
02:42 Other caves are wind caves. The winds carving out
02:46 of sandstone over a long period of time.
02:49 This cave is a solutional cave, and limestone is the
02:53 whole region our cave here. Limestone is the rocky
02:58 seal on the ceiling, it's the rocky seal on the walls
03:01 and floors in here. It also the rock that they crush
03:03 up to make gravel and concrete.
03:06 Limestone is made out of the similar substance
03:08 that are teether made out of and the reason
03:11 we have these rooms because rain the water will
03:15 come down through the soil and pick up carbon
03:18 dioxide gas. This kind a like Coke and Pepsi
03:21 with the taste but without the flavorings from the sugar
03:25 and that soda water slowly dissolves the way the
03:28 rock in the cave just like we get cavities in our teeth.
03:32 If you drink a bunch of soda and don't brush.
03:35 And the cavity. Bad news..
03:37 Bad news for team, but, okay, this just basically
03:42 a cavity in the mountain. Now let me ask you this
03:45 question. We are underneath Raccoon Mountain.
03:48 How we just keep found, how was it?
03:50 This cave has five different entrances to it.
03:54 There are three up high on the mountain and two down low.
03:57 and the rocks in the caves stay the average
04:00 temperature of the area year around. So, our cave
04:02 has always 60 degrees. The farmers in the valley
04:08 would sit out at the entrance and cool off in the summer
04:11 time. As our caves breaths. In the summer air gets sucked
04:15 in those upper entrances, cool up to 60 in that cool dense
04:18 area forced out for lower entrances
04:20 So, the farmer are working would come here or may be
04:23 on the Sunday afternoon bring the family for picnic
04:25 need air conditioning. And cool up, air conditioning.
04:28 What about the name Raccoon Mountain?
04:31 Raccoon Mountain got it's name from one of two
04:35 reasons we really don't know which this is kind of lost
04:37 in history, but if you look at from the air,
04:40 there are three peaks to it. One of the peak looks
04:43 like the head of the Raccoon, the second looks like
04:46 the body and the third looks like the tail.
04:48 And other reason is because we do have a lot of
04:50 Raccoons here on the mountain.
04:52 I've never seen any inside the cave though.
04:54 Just amazing and so we have a great variety
04:57 of different formation in the cave.
04:59 They are all caused for the same process, I mean
05:03 coming down and filtering through and
05:05 yes, it's kind of the reverse,
05:06 once we have the big cavity the reverse happens.
05:10 Minerals start getting left behind.
05:13 The salted water goes flat when it hangs out
05:15 on the ceiling and so little ring of calf side
05:19 gets left behind. So this little things are hang
05:21 from the ceiling are called Soda Straws, because
05:23 it's soda water that comes down through them
05:25 and they are hollow in the middle just like
05:28 a straw, isn't that cool? Yes, it is, yes wonderful,
05:32 just wonderful. These bigger carrot shaped things,
05:35 these are called 'Slate Tights',
05:37 and they form when water runs
05:39 down the outside of the soda straw.
05:41 It just, it just the amazing. I wish, boys and girls,
05:45 would not be nice and we have patty could to come
05:46 to our school or what have you and to talk to us
05:49 and learn more and perhaps in later programs we
05:51 have the opportunity for doing this. So, this is Ranger
05:54 Jim boys and girls saying once again don't forget
05:57 to tell Jesus that you love him
05:59 because he really does love you.
06:14 Okay, everybody, a lifeguard Cherokee goes swim.
06:17 Hey, Adam I am ready to swim.
06:21 Dad that thing won't save you. It will.
06:25 You need a lifeguard. Boys and girls,
06:29 Jesus is your lifeguard and Jesus saves.
06:39 We have heard the joyful sound:
06:43 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
06:47 Spread the tidings all around:
06:51 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
06:56 Bear the news to every land,
07:00 Climb the mountains, cross the waves;
07:04 Onward! 'tis our Lord's command;
07:08 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
07:14 Give the winds a mighty voice:
07:18 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
07:22 Let the nations now rejoice:
07:26 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
07:30 Shout salvation full and free;
07:34 Highest hills and deepest caves;
07:38 This our song of victory:
07:42 Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
07:57 Welcome to "Learning Time" Thanks for joining us today.
08:00 Hey, we've got another interesting experiment.
08:02 You like experiments. Yes. Oh! Yeah, well,
08:05 we've got our helpers. We have Joshua and katelyn.
08:09 Now have you ever done experiment with water. No.
08:14 No, you like take in a bath or something. Yeah.
08:17 Well, yeah. Hey we use water all the time.
08:19 Well, we've got our aquarium right here and we don't
08:22 have any fish in it, but we gonna to use that just in
08:24 case we make a Mess. Now if you do this at home,
08:27 in fact, I hope you will do this at home or you need
08:30 some very ordinary materials. Now what's that? Cup.
08:35 It's cup. Do you have a cup? Yes.
08:37 Well, we gonna take a cup and make sure
08:39 you don't use a glass cup because they just might
08:41 break and you might get in trouble, but this happen
08:44 to be plastic okay. Right now I am going to pour some
08:47 water from my beaker right into this cup right here,
08:50 right up to that little line. Okay, cool, I want to give
08:52 this to you Joshua. Hold that up high for us
08:55 I got another one here for Katelyn.
08:57 Let's go and pour some water too.
08:59 We gonna measure this out. I have a little line on
09:01 this cup. This kind of little decoration line but
09:04 that gives me an index sort of place where I can
09:06 stop pouring from. I want You to hang on that as well.
09:09 And let's see I am going to pour myself some
09:11 water too. Now have you ever taken a cup of water
09:16 and turn it upside down and have the water
09:19 stay right in the cup. No. Have you ever done it? No.
09:24 Okay, let me, let me try. Okay, give me some
09:25 over here, so I am going to take it.
09:26 I am gonna take it, I am gonna turn it so fast
09:28 upside down and let's see... Did it work? No.
09:33 No. there is a little bit water left,
09:36 but you know most of the water went where?
09:38 In the aquarium. Just break down the aquarium.
09:41 Well, today we are going to use some air pressure
09:43 in order to hold the water in the cup and the cups
09:46 going to be turn up side down. So this is what you
09:49 need to do If you gonna do this at home.
09:51 Now Joshua and katelyn, you have got water
09:52 in your cup, right. Yeah.
09:54 Okay, now take a finger, any finger you got tend
09:56 just pick one of them and let's get your finger
09:59 wet with the water and take the rim of the cup
10:01 and just get the rim wet. You've got the wet the rim
10:04 of your cup that's very important for this experiment.
10:06 Now it is wet? Yes. Okay, now I gonna give
10:10 them a little card. Now at home you can use a little
10:13 index card and cut the index card in half and so
10:16 here is half for you Joshua and Katelyn, here
10:18 is a half of card for you. Now put a right on top
10:22 of your cup just like this, okay.
10:24 And then this is what the aquarium for.
10:26 That's for Splashing Mess, okay. Now let's go ahead
10:30 and turn your cup up side down, okay,
10:33 and release your hand off of the card. Okay,
10:37 that's fine. Let's, oh! Joshua and Katelyn, okay.
10:39 Look at, oh! Is there water in here?
10:43 Does water in his? Oh! For a little bit,
10:46 wasn't there? Well, that's interesting.
10:49 I tell you what. Now let me put some more water
10:51 in there, and let me give you another card because
10:54 something happened that was interesting here.
10:56 You gonna need a new card.
10:58 Now you can't use your old cards because
10:59 they get wet and they are let some air in.
11:02 Oh! Where is your cup? I better pour some water
11:04 in your cup right here. Okay, here we go.
11:07 I get the, get the lip wet. Okay,
11:10 get the rim wet. You got wet. Okay,
11:12 now put the card right on top. Let's try this one more
11:15 time. We gonna see how long they can hold
11:17 those there. So the water will stay in the cup.
11:20 Now the air pressure is going to push up against
11:22 the card. Air pressure is strong. It's all round us,
11:26 every day we need that air pressure.
11:28 Go and let's try. Turn it up side down.
11:31 And the air pressure is going to be holding,
11:33 look the air pressure is holding the water in the cup.
11:36 Now let's just, oh! Something happened.
11:39 A little bit air came in and we didn't have the air
11:42 pressure, the full air pressure.
11:44 Hey, Joshua, can you push on your card little bit
11:46 with the finger. Let's let the little air in their.
11:49 A little air goes in and the air pressure just it what?
11:54 It try to equalize underneath the cup and on top
11:57 of the cup and inside the cup and we could not float
11:59 the water then, could we? We couldn't balance
12:01 that water in the cup. Hey, that's interesting to me.
12:05 Did you know that we could do that? You know,
12:08 there is a lot of things that we just don't know until
12:10 we do an experiment. Experiments really important
12:13 and I hope you got to try this one at home.
12:16 And you know what you might able to use bigger
12:18 and bigger containers. Pretty soon all the containers
12:20 get so big that the water the air pressure
12:23 just can't hold the water in, so you can't use the
12:27 huge container. You have to use so small containers
12:30 that would be interesting. Well, every time we learn
12:33 something new about science we learn
12:35 something new about our creator God.
12:53 Do you know O Christian you're a sermon in shoes!
12:58 Do you know O Christian you're a sermon in shoes!
13:02 Jesus counts upon you to spread the gospel news:
13:07 So preach it, and teach it, a sermon in shoes.
13:12 Do you know O Christian you're a sermon in shoes!
13:17 Do you know O Christian you're a sermon in shoes!
13:22 Jesus counts upon you to spread the gospel news:
13:26 So, preach it, and teach it, and live it, and give it,
13:31 a sermon in shoes!
13:45 Uncle, uncle tell us a story. tell you a story. Why
13:51 I think I will. I will tell you a story that happened
13:55 just the other day right up the road in Capernaum.
14:00 Oh! That's not too far away. It's not very far at all like
14:03 just the other day Jesus was there in Capernaum
14:07 and you know, what Jesus like to do.
14:10 He likes to heal the sick people.
14:12 He likes to tell them stories about his father.
14:15 He likes to teach them the scriptures.
14:18 Now there was a Roman centurion.
14:21 You know, what a Roman centurion does. No. He
14:25 is in charge of Soldiers. Do you know how many Soldiers?
14:29 No. One hundred Soldiers. Woh! That's a lot.
14:35 That's a lot of Soldiers, Now the Roman centurion
14:38 had a hundred soulders and he had some servants
14:41 at his house and one of his favorite servants was very,
14:46 very sick. Some of you've gone sick before.
14:49 You not feel good. You have maybe a high temperature
14:54 or a high fever and this servant had such a high fever
14:58 that he went paralyze. What is paralyze mean?
15:01 I think I mean we can't move.
15:04 He couldn't move and he was lying down and
15:07 he was just about to die. Oh! Know.
15:11 I think it's terrible. Now the Roman centurion
15:14 was a good man and he didn't want this servant
15:17 to die and he had heard the Jesus could heal people,
15:21 so he called some of the friends from his Church
15:23 and he said, would we go to Jesus in Capernaum?
15:27 Would you tell him about my servant and these
15:31 friends loved the Roman centurion and so they
15:33 went away quickly to see Jesus just right up the road
15:36 they began to tell Jesus, could you please come
15:40 to the centurion's house.
15:42 The centurion is a good man. Well, he loves all of us.
15:46 He loves his country. He helped build the Church
15:51 for us. He is a good man. Could you come
15:55 and heal his servant. Do you think Jesus
15:57 wanted to heal to that servant?
15:58 Yes. Of course. You are right. He sure did.
16:02 He told those guys, yes, I will come,
16:05 I will come to the centurion's house and so they
16:08 began to walk down the trail the centurion's home.
16:12 And when the centurion heard and saw
16:14 that they were coming. He came out of his house
16:17 and some of his servants were with him and
16:19 he said, wait, wait Jesus stop.
16:26 Why did he do that? Why did he do that?
16:28 That's a good question. He said I am not worthy
16:31 for you to come into my house.
16:33 I know that you are a strong leader.
16:35 I know that you are a good man.
16:39 I too can say to my slaves go and they go.
16:42 I can say to my soldiers come and they come.
16:46 You too can say that. All you have to do Jesus
16:50 is say that my servant can be healed
16:54 and he will be healed. He had a lot of faith.
16:58 He had so much faith. Boys and girls what -
17:02 they have faith. When Jesus heard what that
17:06 centurion he said, this I have see no greater
17:13 faith in all the country of Israel. Woh! Woh!
17:19 Or wouldn't that be fun to have Jesus say that about you?
17:22 Yes. Noah, Luke, Sarah. To have Jesus said
17:26 that he is found great faith in you. You know,
17:30 what happened? Just the other day as soon as Jesus
17:33 said I have not seen any greater faith in all this
17:37 country. The servant was healed that very
17:43 same hour. Woh! That's amazing!
17:47 Oh! It is amazing. He never forget we servant
17:51 an awesome God. Yes, we,
17:53 A God who loves to reward our faith.
17:56 Our job is to believe just like the Roman Centurion
18:00 believed. You have been so good.
18:03 I think uncle has got some money to give to each
18:07 one of you that you can go spend in the market.
18:10 Would you like to do that? Yes.
18:13 Wonderful. Thank you. Here is some for you and for you.
18:16 You are welcome. You are welcome. Thank you.
18:18 Bye. Something healthy to eat. Thank you.
18:21 You are welcome. There you go. There you go.
18:25 Hi, boys and girls. I am here today with Joshua
20:18 and he is going to help me tell you something
20:20 very important. It's time for Miss Brenda's
20:23 Book of the Day and oh! What a special book
20:27 I have Secrets of the Forest by Colleen L. Reece,
20:30 Something is moving in the bushes and Carrie
20:34 and Andy can't wait to find out what it is?
20:36 Join them as they explore a huge forest filled
20:39 with strange sounds and thrilling secrets,
20:42 so grab your binoculars, your magnifying glass
20:44 and bugs brain, get ready for a great adventure
20:48 and this is Secrets of the Forest by Colleen L. Reece,
20:51 doesn't it look like a good book?
20:54 Well, today is an extra special day for me because
20:56 I have an extra special person with me
20:58 and his name is Joshua. Hi, Joshua. Hi.
21:02 I'm so glad you're here on kids Time
21:04 and I love you know that,
21:05 I love you too and glad to be here.
21:07 Well, I am so excited that you are here and you always
21:09 have something you are doing to share Jesus,
21:11 don't you? I guess I do. Yes, you do.
21:14 Well, recently I know your aunt Sonia came and
21:15 visited you. Yes. Tell me what you and aunt Sonia
21:18 were doing? Well, you know the bookmarks you gave us,
21:20 aha, like there is one you have here.
21:22 Yes, this is just, just a sample. But so we went down
21:26 to the beach or we went down to the neighborhood
21:28 and passed it out. And so people were telling
21:30 us how much they like them and then we
21:32 recorded it on our little recorder you know
21:37 recorder. And I thought it was really great that
21:38 we were passing the mountain now I have
21:39 wrong person few people that I really had to tell you about
21:42 this, okay, specially, okay, so, there is just one lady
21:44 from Altree Middle school and she was saying
21:48 how nice she thought these were, and they
21:51 made some in their classroom, but
21:52 they were never this nice, because these
21:55 books are, yes, this is really nice,
21:56 show the boys and girls. These are so nice,
21:58 look at these. So, if you are telling me and we will
22:01 talk about this. And such a like to find
22:03 out about them because they really nice so really
22:06 we went to on the next person. Share some tattoos
22:08 and share somethings with her. And so we were talking
22:11 to and she was saying how much he liked.
22:13 We love them pick out some, and she said how much
22:16 she likes them and she was going to frame this on her
22:19 wall and every time she looks she was going to think
22:21 of me and said then I sing song I love you Lord
22:24 and so and then she said, you got my mom crying now,
22:28 and she said, how beautiful it was and I said
22:30 give the glory to God. That's right.
22:32 Because He is the one that gave me this gift and I
22:34 enjoy using it. So, and it's important,
22:37 isn't it Joshua that we always know the glory
22:39 goes to God, isn't it? Yes.
22:41 Anytime we think it's about us we are in trouble, right?
22:43 Yes. That's right. That's right.
22:46 I was going to give Jesus to praise.
22:48 Yes. And so you had a, did you have any other
22:52 experiences then when you are giving the bookmarks.
22:54 Yes, we had a few of the people, but those
22:56 were just enough special one and I thought I want
22:58 to tell you. I talked to one of my friends and he said
23:01 he thought about church in heaven and,
23:03 so, we gave out tense so it was, it went good.
23:07 So you have 10 experiences? Yes.
23:09 Well, that's good. Did you have anyone saying
23:11 no I don't want it. No, not at all. All of you take it?
23:14 In all of them, they were close to people and they
23:17 thought how it was really nice and really well,
23:21 really well. He did. Now you also you to recently
23:23 took a video of your singing on kids Time to your school.
23:26 Yes. Tell me about that. Well, I took it there
23:28 and we're watching this like
23:29 It was a hard first of all. I know you go to public
23:32 school, right. Yeah, I want to go to
23:33 public school. And is it hard to, most people
23:36 don't love anything led and just go into public school,
23:38 right. Yeah. I really wasn't that hard.
23:40 I mean we brought it in and everything what,
23:42 that's the teacher, a lot of them,
23:44 the majority of people of my class are Christian. Okay.
23:46 So, it's good to be around Christian pupil and
23:48 my teacher is too. So, it was just like what is this?
23:50 They were see me like, they like Joshua well,
23:52 I am just sitting there like I don't what said so.
23:55 And so did she tell sing for Jesus?
23:57 Yes, and they really liked it, and they wanted
24:00 to see the rest of it. My teacher was kind
24:01 of pushing it showing that in the first place, so
24:04 You just sort a little bit of busy.
24:05 Yeah. I wanted to see little bit extra fast she
24:07 was just my favorite and which is so good.
24:12 When I saw her like the first time I was like woh!
24:14 You know, a kind of blew me away and..
