00:03 It's time to share there is a world out
00:06 there looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:10 it's time to share there is a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls do you know one of things that 00:26 I really about doing Kids Time. Well I have the 00:30 opportunity to travel all over the world and 00:33 meet children who want to know more about 00:35 Jesus, you know that is just so much fun for me. 00:38 Recently I just came back from the Bahamas, 00:40 and I had the most wonderful time over there 00:43 because I got to meet boys and girls who love 00:46 Jesus with all their heart. I actually went to 00:48 the Grand Bahama Academy, and I was able 00:50 to hear those kids, they have prepared special 00:52 songs for me and they sing from their heart, 00:54 they love Jesus so much. You know traveling 00:57 and seeing interesting places is just so much 00:59 fun for me. But you know it can be very tiring 01:03 sometimes too. I have, there have been times 01:05 when I have been so exhausted after a day 01:07 of travel, that I would almost fall asleep 01:09 before my head hit the pillow, especially on 01:12 the days when I had to do a whole lot of walking. 01:15 But you know what, you know what keeps me 01:17 going, I have good news to share and when 01:20 you have good news to share with people, 01:22 a little tiredness just can't stop you. 01:25 We're going to hear in our Bible story today 01:27 from a man who did a whole lot of traveling, 01:29 and he didn't take buses or airplanes. 01:32 He walked most of the way, you know he 01:35 had quite the adventures, and the think 01:37 that kept him going was the same good 01:40 news that keeps me going. I want you to 01:43 share the goodness of Jesus with others 01:45 boys and girls because you know what, 01:47 it will keep you going too. Well while we are 01:50 waiting to hear the story, let's join Ranger Jim 01:52 and see what he is going to tell us about today. 02:01 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:03 welcome to Nature Time. We're glad you can 02:05 join us today, we are at Gatlinburg, Tennessee 02:07 at a place call Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, 02:10 and what a fun place to be. We're having a 02:12 wonderful time. I have my friend Chris with me, 02:14 and we were down looking at a big tank and 02:17 it was full of all kinds of fish there and Chris 02:20 tell us something about these fish, 02:21 there's all kind of fish, what are all these fish. 02:24 Well we had a number of different types of 02:25 fish in that tank, and all of them are fresh 02:28 water fish and they're all found in Amazon 02:30 River Basin of South America and one 02:33 interesting fact that a lot people don't 02:34 realize is for about 6 to 9 months out of the 02:37 year, the Amazon rain forest is actually 02:40 flooded by the river, and so a lot of that 02:42 forest is actually under water, and so these 02:44 fish are actually swimming through the forest. 02:46 Out through the forest, its like we have a 02:48 flood in this country it's always there. 02:50 Right and it happens all the time and the 02:53 large kind of round fish they're called pacus, 02:56 they're related to piranhas, but they don't 02:58 eat meat like the piranhas do, they actually 03:00 eat fruits and nuts, I think actually fall from 03:03 the trees right down into the water where 03:05 they are. And they act just like the birds 03:07 do around here, they eat the fruits and they 03:09 scatter the seeds throughout the forest, 03:12 so the new plants can grow. That's sound 03:14 like a good system, I like the fruits and nuts 03:16 and stuff like that. That's right. Well if they 03:17 are fish, how do they eat this fruit? 03:20 They have different teeth or different. 03:21 Yeah they actually have, their teeth are 03:23 kind of like a horses teeth, so they use them 03:25 to kind of crush all the hard nuts and the 03:29 fruits that fall down into water. You would 03:30 almost think they were designed for that 03:32 wouldn't you like that, exactly. Alright, what 03:34 about some of the others fish that we have 03:35 now. There is one very long fish in there that 03:38 actually can grow to length about 15 feet 03:42 its called arapaima. Yeah, this is big. 03:44 Right, he's very large and he eats other fish. 03:48 He actually will eat, come up underneath and 03:50 eat the fish and one really neat thing about 03:53 him is even though he is a fish, he needs to 03:55 come to the surface to breath air. 03:57 He actually, his swim bladder is actually more 04:00 like a lung, he gets more air from his swim 04:02 bladder then he does through his gills. 04:04 So if you actually were able to hold this fish 04:06 under water, he could actually drown 04:08 underwater. So when we are talking boys 04:10 and girls about a fish, but we have bladder, 04:13 fish have a bladder or filtration device, 04:15 a length of their body right, right. 04:16 This helps them to be in the water regulate 04:19 up and down and so this one uses his as a 04:21 lung to assist in his breathing, right so even 04:24 though isn't that interest, isn't that. 04:27 What about we have another fish that was 04:28 quite about this long and very narrow and 04:30 flat on the back what is this fish? 04:32 Right this fish is called an arowana, 04:35 and it's been some times nicknamed the 04:37 river monkey, river monkey. A river monkey 04:39 and the reason for that is the way his mouth 04:42 is designed is, he will come up and eat things 04:44 off at the surface like bugs and stuff like 04:46 that. Well sometimes these bugs might 04:48 actually be up on the trees above the surface 04:51 of the water and he can use that flat narrow 04:53 tail to launch himself about 6 feet out of the 04:56 water to hit those animals that are hanging 04:59 out of the leaves and eat him. Incredible, 05:01 so this fish can jump, I am 6 feet tall boys 05:04 and girls and this fish can come out of the 05:05 water leap up and picks up somethings off 05:07 a branch up there, right. And I have read 05:10 where there is fish called an archer fish 05:12 that goes along and he is able to spot an 05:15 insect and spray water, spray water up and 05:17 knock it down from there. Right, knock it 05:18 right into water. What a wonderful, what a 05:21 wonderful God we have boy and girls that 05:22 can create things like this, how interesting to 05:25 learn about him. So this is Ranger Jim as 05:27 always telling you boys and girls, don't forget 05:29 to tell Jesus that you love him 05:31 because he really does love you. 05:41 Hey kids, Charles Gabriel wrote this song 05:44 because of his friend Ed Cart. Mr. Cart was 05:46 always bubbling over with a joy of the 05:48 Lord. During the seminar prayer he would 05:51 often burst out and say glory, so his 05:53 nickname was old glory face. At the end of 05:56 his prayers he would say and that will be glory 06:00 for me. This song has being translated into many 06:03 languages and we still love singing it today. 06:07 Boys and girls please join us 06:09 as we sing the glory song. 06:20 When all my labors and trials are o'er, 06:23 And I am safe on that beautiful shore, 06:27 Just to be near the dear Lord I adore, 06:31 Will through the ages be glory for me. 06:36 Oh, that will be glory for me, 06:39 Glory for me, glory for me, 06:44 When by His grace I shall look on His face, 06:49 That will be glory, be glory for me. 06:59 Friends will be there I have loved long ago; 07:03 Joy like a river around me will flow; 07:07 Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know, 07:11 Will through the ages be glory for me. 07:16 Oh, that will be glory for me, 07:21 Glory for me, glory for me, 07:25 When by His grace I shall look on His face, 07:30 That will be glory, be glory for me. 07:47 I love fruit, and fruit looks really pretty in 07:50 dishes too. Well today we're making 07:52 Ambrosia fruit salad. Let me read 07:54 the wet ingredients for you. 07:56 1 cup of shredded or flaked coconut 08:00 3 11 oz. cans of Mandarin oranges - drained 08:04 1 cup of red seedless grapes 08:08 1½ cup of pineapple chunks 08:11 1/4 cup of orange juice concentrate 08:15 1 tbsp. or Pure Florida Crystals 08:19 ½ cup of sliced almonds 08:22 2 large bananas- peeled and cut 08:27 Now to start on our recipe, it really doesn't 08:29 matter what you, where you put this in, 08:31 it's all just fruit and we are gonna put our 08:35 pineapple in. Now you can really use any 08:38 fruit you want. I like these are some of my 08:41 favorite fruits and the banana and but you 08:45 can use oranges, regular oranges you have 08:48 them, Mandarin oranges. You can use regular 08:50 oranges or you can use any use, any kind of 08:55 fruit that you like that are your favorites 08:58 kinds of fruit all different kinds of kiwi 09:01 and all sorts of stuff. Now to save some time 09:03 I have already taken our almonds and put in 09:06 the oven and toast it a little but just to 09:08 warm them and crisp them up. We are 09:10 putting our almonds in this orange juice, 09:14 orange juice concentrate and I didn't add any 09:16 water, it's just and I just used it just like 09:20 that pour that into. Remember just don't 09:24 worry about what you put in just pour it all 09:27 in and it will be fine and this is the sugar 09:29 crystals just a little bit, just to sweeten up 09:32 the fruits just a little bit. And the coconut 09:36 now I am gonna save just a little bit of 09:38 coconut to sprinkle on the top to make it 09:41 look pretty. We will stir it up and now fruit 09:48 salads are really easy to make, that's really 09:50 good you could bring them to a potluck, 09:52 maybe if your mom is going to potluck, 09:54 you could help her cook or and make a fruit 09:56 salad because it's real easy to make but 09:58 everyone loves it. And you can also add 10:02 strawberries, I love strawberries too you 10:04 put strawberries in here. Strawberries also 10:06 really good with the bananas, you get it 10:08 all mixed up be good. I have a bowl over 10:13 here I am gonna put it in just a real 10:16 decorative bowl to make it look more fancy 10:18 and pretty. Just pour it in easy, 10:34 we will take our coconut. Oops just even 10:39 out a little bit in there. And if you like 10:42 coconut and just garnish it little bit on the 10:45 top, just sprinkle some coconut over the 10:47 top to make it look pretty and that's all 10:53 there is to, it's that's simple and delicious, 10:56 it's colorful and if you want to, 10:59 you know like I said before you wanna add 11:01 more fruits you can make it make it ever 11:02 more color by spreading some strawberries 11:03 that get some red in there and just it's real 11:06 colorful and pretty may be for a party, 11:08 or for a birthday party or you could make 11:11 it as I said you know potluck or something 11:13 like that. There is many ways you can use 11:14 a fruit salad even just at dinner time if you 11:17 wanna help your momma, and help her with 11:19 dinner. Everybody will love the fruit salad. 11:22 But just remember until next time 11:24 keep cooking and eat healthy. 11:36 John Mack, it good to see you. Good to see 11:40 you. It's been a long time since I've seen 11:41 you. Since Christ rose. Yeah what's been 11:44 happening in your life? Oh I've being around 11:47 the world, wow! Telling people about our 11:50 Lord, that's great. It has been exciting, 11:53 you remember right after he, he rose we 11:57 were so excited we wanted to tell everyone, 11:59 yeah. Well I went with my relative Barnabas, 12:03 yeah, and Paul, and we went up to Antioch, 12:06 yeah. And there the Holy Spirit spoke to the 12:09 whole group, I heard God's voice speaking, 12:12 that was so exciting hearing. 12:14 I guess it was? Yeah and they said, 12:17 He said set aside Paul and Barnabas for 12:21 the work that I've called him to do. 12:24 And then the Holy Spirit said go to coast 12:27 and from there he led us I went with them 12:30 and we went to Cyprus, sailed to Cyprus, 12:33 yes. And I got to tell you what happened, 12:35 we went we walk all the way across the 12:37 island, it was a long journey. 12:39 That's a long way. Yes, it was very tough 12:42 but we got to the other side, and my 12:45 job was to go get food and supply as 12:48 they're on a trip, and keep track of our 12:50 luggage and I went to the market and 12:52 got some food there. And while I was there 12:54 I met a man by the name of Elymus Bar-Jesus. 12:58 Yeah, and he was Jew, yeah. 13:00 But he practiced magic. He practiced magic. 13:04 Yes, that was very weird. 13:05 A Jew practicing magic? Weird, but any 13:08 way when I got back from the market I 13:11 went back to where Paul and Barnabas were 13:16 standing, and there was a whole crowd 13:17 gathered there and Paul was just saying 13:19 it is not I that raised this man, and gave 13:22 him you know healed him. It is by the 13:26 power of God that this man was healed. 13:30 And everyone that was interested in what 13:32 he was saying and we talk to a little of 13:34 them about our Master, sure. And it was 13:37 many of them accepted him. So this 13:39 man was healed but with Paul's into 13:42 being involved in it. Yes, right there Paul 13:45 healed him, healed him. And God work through 13:47 Paul that made it happen, yeah. 13:49 Right after that we were sitting down to 13:50 eat and a man came running down the hill, 13:55 and he wanted to know who we were 13:57 and he said he was a servant for 14:00 Sergius Paulus, the Governor. 14:02 The Governor wanted to see us, 14:03 wanted to see you. Yes and so I went 14:06 with Paul and Barnabas up to see 14:07 the Governor and I walked in and Elymus 14:11 Bar-Jesus was there. Is that why the 14:13 Governor want to see you? No, he had 14:16 heard about the miracle and he calls us 14:18 in and he said I hear that you're speaking 14:20 about a new religion. You're speaking 14:22 about a new God, tell me about it. 14:25 And so Paul started to speak to him 14:26 and he set us by the power of the creator 14:29 God that this man was healed and Simon 14:31 Bar-Jesus jumped right in and said it was 14:33 by magic, it was fakery, it was not right. 14:37 That's what he did was fake. 14:39 Exactly and Paul through the power of God 14:43 pointed out and said how long Simon 14:45 Bar-Jesus are you going to, Elymus I am 14:48 sorry, it was his name Elymus Bar-Jesus, 14:51 how long are you going to withstand God 14:53 and hold back his work, you will be blind. 14:58 What happened? Until you can see that you 15:00 will do good for God and immediately he 15:03 was struck with blindness, he went uh, 15:05 I am blind and he had to be let out of there, 15:09 wow. But Sergius Paulus accepted Christ. 15:13 That's exciting. And whole house, 15:14 it's really exciting, but anyway we went on 15:17 from there and you know some of the thing 15:19 I learned on that was that was very tough 15:24 trip. We went across to Asia and. 15:27 That's a long way. Yes, and Paul, 15:29 and Barnabas went on and I got discouraged, 15:33 I couldn't handle any thing, and I was 15:36 afraid because of the robbers that were all 15:39 through that region, and I said I'm going 15:42 back home, and so I came back here to 15:44 Jerusalem. Paul and Barnabas kept going. 15:47 They kept going. Yeah and I chickened out. 15:51 But you must have had a tremendous 15:53 experience being with. I did, but I have to learn 15:56 a lesson, to learn to be faithful, 15:59 and I was not faithful. And since then I have 16:04 been trying to be faithful with every 16:06 responsibility that God has given me. 16:08 Oh that's a great story. And God has 16:10 given me victory over that problem. 16:12 I am sure. Yes, he has. If we put our trust 16:14 in him he will give you the victory. 16:16 That's right, which reminds me I have got 16:18 a responsibility, I've got go meet someone 16:22 over here and help them. John, So I have 16:24 got to go. John Mack, it's good to see you. 16:27 Good to see you too. And the Lord 16:29 bless you in all your efforts. Thank you. 16:31 Oh that's a great story. Good to hear you. 16:34 I am glad to hear about Paul and Barnabas too. 16:36 Yes. You run along. Good to see you. 16:38 Good to see you. 16:57 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:00 downright happy all the time. 17:03 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:05 downright happy all the time. 17:09 Since Jesus Christ came in, 17:11 And cleansed my heart from sin. 17:14 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:16 downright happy all the time. 17:19 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:22 downright happy all the time. 17:24 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:26 downright happy all the time. 17:29 Since Jesus Christ came in, 17:31 And cleansed my heart from sin. 17:33 I'm inright, outright, upright, 17:36 downright happy all the time. 17:48 Hi boys and girls, I'm here with my friend 17:50 Samuel. Hi Samuel. Hi. Do you know what 17:53 Samuel is gonna help me introduce the book 17:55 of the day. And you know my choice today 17:59 boys and girls is called I Miss Grandpa, 18:01 it's by Karen Holford. Stevie loved visiting 18:05 grandma and grandpa on their farm. 18:06 Grandpa let Stevie feed the chickens and 18:08 the lambs and ride on the tractor. 18:10 Oh they always had so much fun together. 18:13 One day not long after visit to the farm, 18:16 something went wrong with grandpa's heart 18:19 and he died. Stevie had lost his best friend. 18:23 He missed his grandpa so much and 18:25 he wondered what it was like to die. 18:28 You know I really want to encourage you 18:29 to read this book if you have ever wondered 18:31 what it's like when you die and what happens 18:33 to you when you die, you want to read 18:35 I Miss Grandpa by Karen Holford. 18:39 Well today I was looking to all your letters 18:41 trying to decide which one I should read. 18:43 I came across some of them and I thought 18:45 I sure wish I can their voice and do you know 18:47 what, that's what we are gonna do. 18:49 I call, we have Deja from Huntsville, 18:52 Alabama on the phone. Deja, are you 18:53 there? Hello Miss Brenda. Well hello Deja, 18:57 I am so glad to talk to you. Can you tell 19:00 me how old are you Deja? 6. You are 6 19:03 years old and what do you do to share 19:05 Jesus? Not being selfish. Not being selfish 19:11 you know what that is a wonderful way to 19:13 share Jesus that shows we have Jesus in 19:14 our heart when we are not selfish, 19:16 doesn't it? Yes. And then we can share 19:18 things, what kind of things do you share? 19:22 Do you share with your sister or your 19:23 friends or your mom? I share with my baby 19:27 cousin Eliana. You do, well that's, 19:33 I want to encourage you to keep sharing, 19:34 okay. Okay. Well thank you for talking to 19:37 me today Deja. You're welcome. 19:39 And thank you for your letter. 19:41 You are welcome. Keep sharing Jesus, 19:42 won't you? Yes. Alright bye-bye now. 19:45 Bye, bye Deja, wasn't that a nice surprise 19:48 for Deja. We get to talk to her on the phone. 19:51 And I have a lot more letters here Sam, 19:53 but before, look all these letters can you 19:56 believe that I just love your letters. 19:57 But before we read the letters I know 19:59 Samuel that you love Jesus very much don't 20:01 you, and what do you do to share Jesus. 20:04 First of all let's find out where are you 20:05 from and how old are you? I am from 20:09 Thomasville, Illinois and I am oops. 20:14 And you're right, how old are you? 20:16 I am 7. You are 7 and you know what you 20:18 have been on Kids Time before haven't you. 20:19 And I am excited about all the times you 20:22 have being on Kids Time and you've shared 20:23 Jesus a lot on Kids Time. Can you tell me 20:26 what do you do to share Jesus? Well, I 20:29 church the class that's above me, 20:32 they have guides, and I since the left over 20:36 ones that they have, sometimes I get 20:38 those and then I pass them out to my 20:39 neighbors that don't you know about Jesus. 20:41 And can you tell some people don't know 20:42 what a guide is, what is that? It's a 20:45 little it's only like premier literature, 20:49 but it's, kind like a magazine that has stories 20:51 of Jesus in it right. Yes. And do you pass 20:54 those out to your neighbors? Yes. 20:55 Well that's good what else you do. 20:59 My mother and me we make food for our 21:02 neighbors. What kind of fruit do you like 21:04 to make them? Sometimes we make salad 21:08 and lasagna. Lasagna, oh that's sound good 21:10 and what happens do you go with her when 21:11 she passes the food out? Yes. 21:14 What happens when you go up to there 21:15 and you, and they see you with this food. 21:18 They're really surprised. They are. 21:19 And they don't expect us either? 21:21 They don't expect you, that's kind of fun 21:23 to do that, isn't it. And you know they really 21:25 appreciate it, don't they. Well that's a good 21:28 thing to do, isn't that, and maybe something 21:30 that you could bake, maybe you could bake 21:31 a special dish with your mom and help give 21:33 it to somebody that you know could really 21:34 appreciate it, maybe it's somebody that's 21:36 sick, hasn't been able to get out of the house 21:37 for a long time and you brought him over 21:39 a nice dish like that that's a wonderful way 21:41 to share Jesus. Well thank you for that 21:43 idea Samuel. Let's read some of the letters, 21:45 are you curios what are these letters 21:47 and who they are from. This is from Daniel 21:49 from Topsham Maine. Topsham, Maine, 21:52 I hope I said that right. Sometimes I have a 21:55 hard time pronouncing these towns and 21:56 sometimes your names too. It said, 21:58 dear Miss Brenda, I would like to join Kids 22:00 Club. Said I've seen your show and I like 22:02 it very much. I witness by asking my grandpa 22:05 to come to church. It said, your friend Daniel. 22:08 Well thank you Daniel and you know Daniel 22:11 drew a picture, lets show this picture on 22:13 the air, that's he has got a picture right 22:15 here with a rainbow and it's says Jesus is 22:17 back Jesus, Jesus and it's isn't that a nice 22:19 picture, isn't it. Well what an artist you are, 22:22 and do you know what I think that's wonderful. 22:23 Sometimes we need to we think about sharing 22:26 Jesus only to the neighbors and people that 22:28 are strangers. But sometimes we need to 22:30 witness for Jesus right in our own home and 22:33 in our own families don't we. Lets see that, 22:36 there is a letter here and well I have so many, 22:40 its hard to decide. Lets see this one is from 22:43 Tanzania, East Africa. Let's see who is 22:46 writing from Tanzania. Okay, it says dear 22:50 Miss Brenda, well what's up, I'm fine and 22:53 hope you're doing well, I'm doing well with 22:56 my studies and my life. I hope God is helping 22:58 you while I am praying for you. 23:00 I am a young girl who is 11 years old. 23:03 I love sharing with others by calling them to 23:05 come join me watching Kids Time, 23:08 and they really enjoy it. All I really have to 23:11 do is just tell them Kids Time is on, 23:13 and it's our favorite channel in the whole 23:16 world.
