It's time to share there is a world out there 00:00:03.01\00:00:06.74 looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:00:06.77\00:00:09.84 it's time to share there is a world out there. 00:00:09.87\00:00:13.63 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:13.66\00:00:16.25 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:16.28\00:00:20.11 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time. 00:00:20.14\00:00:24.56 Hi boys and girls today I would like to show 00:00:24.59\00:00:27.22 a picture of my grandson Michael. 00:00:27.25\00:00:29.06 He is almost four-years-old 00:00:29.09\00:00:31.08 and this is him up on my kitchen counter 00:00:31.11\00:00:33.18 helping me make bread and I let him get 00:00:33.21\00:00:35.59 his hands in there and gets flour all over 00:00:35.62\00:00:37.49 the place and we have such a good time. 00:00:37.52\00:00:39.68 We have lots of fun doing, lots of things 00:00:39.71\00:00:41.82 together. One thing he loves though is 00:00:41.85\00:00:44.43 when I tell him stories and I love 00:00:44.46\00:00:46.71 telling him stories. I get all animated 00:00:46.74\00:00:48.55 and if there is a dog or cat in the story, 00:00:48.58\00:00:50.54 I make the animal noises for him 00:00:50.57\00:00:52.36 and he just giggles and you know what 00:00:52.39\00:00:54.15 when I finish. You know what he usually 00:00:54.18\00:00:55.64 always says to me grandma tell that 00:00:55.67\00:00:58.92 one more time. Well you know I'm sure 00:00:58.95\00:01:03.26 this probably been favorite story 00:01:03.29\00:01:05.03 you like to hear over and over again too. 00:01:05.06\00:01:06.81 Isn't there? Well another family I know 00:01:06.84\00:01:09.44 loves it when their grandpa tells them 00:01:09.47\00:01:11.26 about the day, his mother asked him 00:01:11.29\00:01:13.16 to open a jar of rotten strawberries. 00:01:13.19\00:01:15.75 Now he was just a little boy 00:01:15.78\00:01:17.29 and his mother had asked him to open 00:01:17.32\00:01:18.90 the jar for her. She didn't know 00:01:18.93\00:01:20.76 the strawberries had gone bad though 00:01:20.79\00:01:22.36 and he tried and he tried, but he could not 00:01:22.39\00:01:25.74 get that lid to turn. So finally, she grew 00:01:25.77\00:01:28.91 impatient and she reached out 00:01:28.94\00:01:30.29 to help him. Well just at that moment 00:01:30.32\00:01:33.26 the jar of rotten strawberries exploded, 00:01:33.29\00:01:36.37 I mean rotten strawberries went 00:01:36.40\00:01:39.83 everywhere, oh stinking; it was awful 00:01:39.86\00:01:42.77 all over the walls, all over the ceiling, 00:01:42.80\00:01:45.42 all over the table and all over his mother. 00:01:45.45\00:01:48.71 You know there was a perfect outline of her 00:01:48.74\00:01:51.10 head on the wall from the rotten 00:01:51.13\00:01:52.83 strawberry juice. He laughed 00:01:52.86\00:01:55.34 and laughed to see the expression on her face. 00:01:55.37\00:01:57.28 And you know her eyes got wide 00:01:57.31\00:01:59.56 and she gasp and you know her mouth 00:01:59.59\00:02:02.54 formed into a tiny surprised, oh. 00:02:02.57\00:02:06.42 He still laughs a lot every time 00:02:07.71\00:02:09.43 we'll tell that story, even though 00:02:09.46\00:02:11.17 it happened almost 70 years ago. 00:02:11.20\00:02:13.58 Well today we hear the story that 00:02:13.61\00:02:16.48 I'm sure the young Israelite boys and girls 00:02:16.51\00:02:18.52 love to hear their parents tell over 00:02:18.55\00:02:20.44 and over again. I can just hear them 00:02:20.47\00:02:22.95 saying please mommy, please daddy, 00:02:22.98\00:02:25.62 please tell that just one more time. 00:02:25.65\00:02:27.89 And I'm sure their moms and dads 00:02:27.92\00:02:29.86 were glad to tell it. You will hear the story 00:02:29.89\00:02:32.28 from someone who was there, 00:02:32.31\00:02:33.50 but first we will see what 00:02:33.53\00:02:35.02 Ranger Jim has in store for us. 00:02:35.05\00:02:36.63 Hi boys and girls Ranger Jim saying 00:02:43.76\00:02:45.69 welcome to Nature Time. We are glad 00:02:45.72\00:02:46.98 you can join us today. We are at Gatlinburg, 00:02:47.01\00:02:48.72 Tennessee at a place called Ripley's Aquarium 00:02:48.75\00:02:51.81 of the Smokies and what a fun place to be. 00:02:51.84\00:02:54.04 We have had a lot of fun today 00:02:54.07\00:02:55.26 and we have the senior biologist Frank 00:02:55.29\00:02:58.14 with us. And Frank we are looking a tank 00:02:58.17\00:03:00.54 while ago of some fish about this long 00:03:00.57\00:03:02.74 and they are called Barracuda. 00:03:02.77\00:03:04.08 I have heard that Barracuda eats 00:03:04.11\00:03:05.85 everything that come in contact, is this true? 00:03:05.88\00:03:07.95 Well that is fairly true Barracuda is a top line 00:03:07.98\00:03:11.76 predator in the ocean and they are 00:03:11.79\00:03:13.91 efficient predators. So they do feed on 00:03:13.94\00:03:17.25 another fish then. Yeah they are highly adapted. 00:03:17.28\00:03:20.08 Their teeth are razor sharp. 00:03:20.11\00:03:21.99 Their tails are designed for quick burst of speed 00:03:22.02\00:03:25.63 and they are very efficient at catching 00:03:25.66\00:03:28.36 and eating other fish. Well are they danger 00:03:28.39\00:03:31.19 to human beings? If you when out in 00:03:31.22\00:03:33.24 swimming in the ocean would an attack 00:03:33.27\00:03:36.44 occur or? Attacks do occur, but they are rare 00:03:36.47\00:03:40.58 and they usually occur under certain 00:03:40.61\00:03:43.45 conditions, if the water is murky 00:03:43.48\00:03:45.32 and someone is wearing shiny jewelry 00:03:45.35\00:03:47.56 that may look like the bait fish, 00:03:47.59\00:03:49.77 there is a possibility that Barracuda 00:03:49.80\00:03:52.50 could mistake that and bite the person 00:03:52.53\00:03:55.48 or the other thing when people hook on 00:03:55.51\00:03:58.35 and hook line. As a sports fish, 00:03:58.38\00:04:00.90 they like to catch them. Yeah they jump 00:04:00.93\00:04:03.21 and go crazy and occasionally when an 00:04:03.24\00:04:07.56 animal is jumping, if it jumps into the boat, 00:04:07.59\00:04:09.91 with those razor sharp teeth, 00:04:09.94\00:04:11.95 those teeth are razor sharp. Then you would 00:04:11.98\00:04:14.24 have problem with them like that okay. Yes. 00:04:14.27\00:04:16.37 Now tell me are they a value to us as food fish 00:04:16.40\00:04:20.15 would be a think of that. Barracuda 00:04:20.18\00:04:23.07 can be a good eating fish, but only as a 00:04:23.10\00:04:25.53 young fish, a high level predator 00:04:25.56\00:04:29.07 and a coral reef environment 00:04:29.10\00:04:30.61 that's feeding another fishes that had been 00:04:30.64\00:04:32.55 feeding algae in the coral reef environment 00:04:32.58\00:04:35.11 can accumulate toxins in its tissue. 00:04:35.14\00:04:38.46 There are toxins in the algae. 00:04:38.49\00:04:40.62 They call it bioaccumulation. 00:04:40.65\00:04:42.89 The toxins originate in algae. 00:04:42.92\00:04:45.67 Other fish eat algae and they get, 00:04:45.70\00:04:47.65 they build a little bit up, but the Barracuda 00:04:47.68\00:04:50.58 is eating all those other fish that 00:04:50.61\00:04:52.21 had been concentrating that so the toxin level 00:04:52.24\00:04:55.93 goes up as that go up as they go up 00:04:55.96\00:04:57.44 for a change. So the lesson would be to 00:04:57.47\00:04:59.52 boys and girls and to adult older 00:04:59.55\00:05:01.58 boys and girls, if you live in an area 00:05:01.61\00:05:03.37 where there is Barracuda be 00:05:03.40\00:05:04.50 very careful if you would eat them okay. 00:05:04.53\00:05:06.41 You be very careful by that. Yeah. 00:05:06.44\00:05:08.24 What about reproduction? Do they 00:05:08.27\00:05:09.24 lay eggs on the ground, or in the ocean 00:05:09.25\00:05:11.56 or how is the reproduction? 00:05:11.59\00:05:13.31 The Barracudas what they, you call them 00:05:13.34\00:05:15.67 broadcast spawner. Broadcast! 00:05:15.70\00:05:18.48 They just broadcast their eggs in the water 00:05:18.51\00:05:21.06 and then fertilize by the males in the water 00:05:21.09\00:05:23.43 and they drift off and they don't adhere 00:05:23.46\00:05:28.24 their eggs to a substrate or on the 00:05:28.27\00:05:30.10 bottom. They just, they flow with the currents 00:05:30.13\00:05:33.53 and they go through lot of the germinals 00:05:33.56\00:05:35.70 get carried into the Estuaries 00:05:35.73\00:05:37.70 and that's why Estuaries are so important 00:05:37.73\00:05:40.00 for so many animals as a brute ground for 00:05:40.03\00:05:45.90 young fishes. Okay tell us now boys and girls 00:05:45.93\00:05:48.69 this Estuary you are talking about Frank 00:05:48.72\00:05:50.32 tell us what an Estuary is? 00:05:50.35\00:05:51.65 An Estuary is an area where a river meets 00:05:51.68\00:05:54.61 the sea. It's where the fresh water 00:05:54.64\00:05:56.38 and salt water mix and you often have 00:05:56.41\00:05:58.76 salt marshes or mangrove swamps. 00:05:58.79\00:06:01.66 These wet land areas are extremely important 00:06:01.69\00:06:06.17 to the environment because so many species 00:06:06.20\00:06:09.28 of fish use it as a nursery area 00:06:09.31\00:06:12.52 and they are extremely even Coral reef fish 00:06:12.55\00:06:15.76 use the Estuaries as a nursery area. 00:06:15.79\00:06:18.28 That's great, didn't that wonderful 00:06:18.31\00:06:20.19 boys and girls so we can learn that alright. 00:06:20.22\00:06:21.87 Now these are adults that we're seeing. 00:06:21.90\00:06:23.55 These are about as big as Barracuda get. 00:06:23.58\00:06:25.45 These are about the adult fish. 00:06:25.48\00:06:26.96 They are adult size, and they get 00:06:26.99\00:06:28.50 little bit bigger. I think maximum size is 00:06:28.53\00:06:30.56 about 6 feet. Oh 6 feet Barracuda! 00:06:30.59\00:06:34.20 And he would have teeth like that 00:06:34.23\00:06:36.06 would he? Yeah. So he could be a very very 00:06:36.09\00:06:38.80 efficient predator. Oh, yeah. 00:06:38.83\00:06:40.54 Well once again Frank thank you for coming 00:06:40.57\00:06:43.75 and telling the boys about Barracudas. 00:06:43.78\00:06:45.43 Boys and girls it's a thrill for me 00:06:45.46\00:06:47.32 to learn too, because you may think 00:06:47.35\00:06:48.74 Ranger Jim knows all about these things, 00:06:48.77\00:06:50.36 but I don't. But the one thing that I do know 00:06:50.39\00:06:53.00 is whom made them, our Heavenly Father 00:06:53.03\00:06:55.50 made them and what a wonderful creator 00:06:55.53\00:06:57.45 God he is. So don't forget to tell the Jesus 00:06:57.48\00:07:00.11 that you love him, because 00:07:00.14\00:07:01.57 he really does love you. 00:07:01.60\00:07:04.37 Hey kids do you like to sing in 00:07:11.60\00:07:13.10 hymns in churches, I do, but there is a time 00:07:13.13\00:07:15.57 during the 17th and 18th centuries 00:07:15.60\00:07:17.31 and people didn't allowed to sing Hymns 00:07:17.34\00:07:18.56 in churches. They only wanted to sing songs 00:07:18.59\00:07:20.60 from the Bible. Others say it was okay 00:07:20.63\00:07:22.88 to compose Hymns for church. Some churches 00:07:22.91\00:07:26.16 dissolved the problem by singing the summit 00:07:26.19\00:07:27.68 and hymn at the end. That way the people 00:07:27.71\00:07:30.37 who didn't want to sing hymn could leave 00:07:30.40\00:07:32.91 or sit quietly. This factor served Hymn 00:07:32.94\00:07:35.29 writer Isaac Watts greatly which is shown 00:07:35.32\00:07:37.12 in one of the verses in Marching to Zion. 00:07:37.15\00:07:39.06 It says that those refuse to sing 00:07:39.09\00:07:41.45 who never knew their God. Mr. Watts 00:07:41.48\00:07:44.09 so chuckled during this verse, because he knew 00:07:44.12\00:07:46.75 we were all children of the heavenly king. 00:07:46.78\00:07:48.40 Boys and girls we will never refuse to sing. 00:07:48.43\00:07:51.38 Let's sing We're Marching to Zion. 00:07:51.41\00:07:53.68 Come, we that love the Lord, 00:07:58.08\00:08:01.53 And let our joys be known, 00:08:01.56\00:08:03.97 Join in a song with sweet accord, 00:08:04.00\00:08:06.94 Join in a song with sweet accord, 00:08:06.97\00:08:09.50 And thus surround the throne, 00:08:09.53\00:08:12.01 And thus surround the throne. 00:08:12.04\00:08:14.20 Let those refuse to sing Who never new our God; 00:08:15.33\00:08:20.56 But children of the heavenly King, 00:08:20.59\00:08:23.23 But children of the heavenly King, 00:08:23.26\00:08:25.77 May speak their joy abroad, 00:08:25.80\00:08:28.40 May speak their joy abroad. 00:08:28.43\00:08:30.33 We're marching to Zion, Beautiful, 00:08:30.36\00:08:34.35 beautiful Zion; We're marching upward to Zion 00:08:34.38\00:08:38.57 The beautiful city of God. 00:08:38.60\00:08:41.23 Then let our songs abound, 00:08:44.24\00:08:47.55 And every tear be dry; We're marching through 00:08:47.58\00:08:51.17 Immanuel's ground, We're marching through 00:08:51.20\00:08:53.60 Immanuel's ground, To fairer worlds on high, 00:08:53.63\00:08:57.41 To fairer worlds on high. 00:08:57.44\00:08:59.20 We're marching to Zion, Beautiful, 00:08:59.23\00:09:03.00 beautiful Zion; We're marching upward to Zion 00:09:03.03\00:09:07.12 The beautiful city of God. 00:09:07.15\00:09:09.66 I love ginger bread and today I have 00:09:22.98\00:09:25.69 an easy simple recipe for you, 00:09:25.72\00:09:28.40 that's not only delicious but 00:09:28.43\00:09:30.54 healthy too. And it comes with these cans 00:09:30.57\00:09:33.78 and I bet you are wondering 00:09:33.81\00:09:34.93 what these are for. Well I'm gonna 00:09:34.96\00:09:36.77 let you know. But first let me read 00:09:36.80\00:09:38.41 the recipe for you. 1 cup of 00:09:38.44\00:09:41.44 all purpose flour, 1 tsp. of baking soda, 00:09:41.47\00:09:45.32 ½ tsp. of ground ginger, ½ tsp. of 00:09:45.35\00:09:50.09 ground cinnamon, ½ tsp. of nutmeg, 00:09:50.12\00:09:53.78 1/4 cup of pure Florida crystals, 00:09:53.81\00:09:58.53 1/4 cup of molasses, 1/4 cup of water 00:09:58.56\00:10:03.92 and 2 tbsp. of lemon juice. 00:10:03.95\00:10:06.69 Now we gonna start with our dry ingredients 00:10:06.72\00:10:09.68 and put our flour, all purpose flour in 00:10:09.71\00:10:11.86 and our sugar crystals. Now you can just use 00:10:13.27\00:10:18.18 dry ingredients first, but the dry ingredients 00:10:18.21\00:10:19.80 it doesn't matter what order you put them in, 00:10:19.83\00:10:21.50 just make sure that you don't put the molasses 00:10:21.53\00:10:23.35 in, and your lemon juice and water 00:10:23.38\00:10:25.40 that's gonna be at the end. 00:10:25.43\00:10:26.58 Now it's the cinnamon, this is the ginger 00:10:26.61\00:10:29.84 and the nutmeg all the spices that, 00:10:30.73\00:10:33.12 and the baking soda. Just kind of stir 00:10:34.39\00:10:40.43 those up, just a little, just to get 00:10:40.46\00:10:41.82 the seasonings all throughout the flour. 00:10:41.85\00:10:43.61 Okay. And now we're gonna add our molasses 00:10:45.21\00:10:49.34 and water and lemon juice. Water, 00:10:49.37\00:10:52.13 lemon juice and the molasses okay. 00:10:52.16\00:10:59.09 And we gonna stir that all up. 00:11:02.10\00:11:04.01 Now you know a lot of times you might think of 00:11:04.04\00:11:06.25 ginger bread at around Christmas time 00:11:06.28\00:11:08.89 and that kind of thing, but Christmas time 00:11:08.92\00:11:10.83 or not, ginger bread is delicious all throughout 00:11:10.86\00:11:13.66 the year. Anytime you wanna make it up. 00:11:13.69\00:11:17.02 Now, you get it all stirred up. 00:11:18.66\00:11:20.21 I have two cans here. Then what you need is 00:11:23.00\00:11:26.43 you gonna take your a non-stick cooking spray 00:11:26.46\00:11:29.45 and spraying through out the can. 00:11:30.64\00:11:32.60 We get that all sprayed in there 00:11:35.01\00:11:36.49 and what this actually cans are, they are just 00:11:36.52\00:11:40.10 two and half diameter soup cans 00:11:40.13\00:11:42.81 and you can just get them from your 00:11:42.84\00:11:45.48 favorite soup and after you finish the soup 00:11:45.51\00:11:47.24 just clean out the can and you can use it 00:11:47.27\00:11:49.22 for the ginger bread. Now you can take 00:11:49.25\00:11:50.98 this ginger bread that you have made, 00:11:51.01\00:11:52.68 and split it up the mixture about 00:11:52.71\00:11:56.13 half and half so that you can put it between 00:11:56.16\00:11:58.80 the two cans you have and just take 00:11:58.83\00:12:01.07 the ginger bread put in the soup can, 00:12:01.10\00:12:04.91 half of it, put in there and then put the rest 00:12:04.94\00:12:15.66 of it in another can. Now if you gonna 00:12:15.69\00:12:18.57 touch it like I just did make sure that 00:12:18.60\00:12:20.14 you wash your friends and have clean hands 00:12:20.17\00:12:22.79 like I have. Now you gonna bake these at 00:12:22.82\00:12:28.21 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes 00:12:28.24\00:12:31.94 but then they should be, they should be done. 00:12:31.97\00:12:34.63 Now I have the finished product already 00:12:34.66\00:12:36.29 baked for you and this is what it's gonna 00:12:36.32\00:12:39.42 look like. Just like that. It's beautiful. 00:12:39.45\00:12:45.08 And you know its there is other ways 00:12:45.11\00:12:47.88 you can, you can don't have to bake it 00:12:47.91\00:12:49.41 in a can like that, but I think it's really 00:12:49.44\00:12:51.38 fun to have in a circle like that, 00:12:51.41\00:12:54.54 because it's little different than 00:12:54.57\00:12:55.60 you would normally have a bread. 00:12:55.63\00:12:57.02 Well it's just like that perfect for our 00:12:57.05\00:13:00.96 healthy snack to eat and until next time 00:13:00.99\00:13:03.55 remember to keep cooking and eat healthy. 00:13:03.58\00:13:06.43 Gresham tell us about the story about 00:13:13.84\00:13:15.83 your father Moses crossing the Red Sea 00:13:15.86\00:13:17.65 please one more time. Again! One more time 00:13:17.68\00:13:20.23 please. Oh, Alright I have already told you 00:13:20.26\00:13:22.25 the story 50 times, I guess one more time 00:13:22.28\00:13:24.39 won't hurt. Well many many years ago. 00:13:24.42\00:13:27.61 Let me tell you about what happened, 00:13:27.64\00:13:28.85 first of all 400 years, for 400 years 00:13:28.88\00:13:33.27 the Egyptians ruled over us with 00:13:33.30\00:13:35.34 an iron hand, they ripped us, they beat us, 00:13:35.37\00:13:38.40 they us build large statues 00:13:38.43\00:13:41.04 and monuments to Pharaoh. They made us 00:13:41.07\00:13:43.37 deal with bricks; oh it was the terrible, 00:13:43.40\00:13:45.48 terrible time. Well God sent my father Moses 00:13:45.51\00:13:49.10 to Egypt and told Pharaoh the king 00:13:49.13\00:13:51.25 of the Egyptians, let my people go. 00:13:51.28\00:13:55.80 Pharaoh said no and it wasn't until God 00:13:55.83\00:13:58.98 sent plagues. He sent flies and he sent frogs 00:13:59.01\00:14:04.15 and it wasn't until he had every single 00:14:04.18\00:14:07.63 first born of the Egyptians to die that 00:14:07.66\00:14:12.23 Pharaoh finally told Moses that he would let 00:14:12.26\00:14:15.37 his people go, our people, 00:14:15.40\00:14:18.71 our family the Israelites. 00:14:18.74\00:14:20.89 Well that was a wonderful day to be 00:14:20.92\00:14:22.68 leaving Egypt. We were so excited. 00:14:22.71\00:14:25.27 You should have seen this. There were oxen, 00:14:25.30\00:14:27.65 there were cattle, there were sheep 00:14:27.68\00:14:29.79 and the people oh thousands 00:14:29.82\00:14:32.55 and thousands of us finally getting 00:14:32.58\00:14:35.98 a freedom from the iron hand of Pharaoh 00:14:36.01\00:14:39.40 and the Egyptians. Oh, it was a happy day. 00:14:39.43\00:14:41.78 You should have seen this, crossing 00:14:41.81\00:14:43.47 and leaving Egypt and going on to the place 00:14:43.50\00:14:47.18 that God said we would inherit called 00:14:47.21\00:14:49.56 the Promised Land. We were leaving 00:14:49.59\00:14:52.98 and we left Egypt and we were headed out 00:14:53.01\00:14:55.51 and we came through the wilderness 00:14:55.54\00:14:57.01 and God was so wonderful to us 00:14:57.04\00:14:59.06 and God set a ball of fire by night 00:14:59.09\00:15:01.55 and a cloud by day that guide us, 00:15:01.58\00:15:03.92 his children, the Israelites out 00:15:03.95\00:15:06.33 of the Egypt. Oh you should have seen it, 00:15:06.36\00:15:08.76 it was wonderful, all of us finally, 00:15:08.79\00:15:11.48 gaining our freedom and independence. 00:15:11.51\00:15:13.03 Well after a while Pharaoh mean, 00:15:13.06\00:15:17.43 old, nasty, grumbling Pharaoh finally 00:15:17.46\00:15:21.34 figured out who was gonna make our bricks. 00:15:21.37\00:15:23.68 Who is gonna make our straw and his wife 00:15:23.71\00:15:27.57 teased him and told him now you are in lot 00:15:27.60\00:15:30.44 of trouble because you don't have 00:15:30.47\00:15:31.65 the Israelites to label in the hot sun to make 00:15:31.68\00:15:34.33 all of your bricks and your monuments, 00:15:34.36\00:15:36.10 so Pharaoh got mad and he stretched 00:15:36.13\00:15:38.23 and put on his own armor and he had the 00:15:38.26\00:15:40.52 entire army of the Egyptians to come out 00:15:40.55\00:15:43.37 to try and catch us as we were leaving. 00:15:43.40\00:15:47.77 So the army of the Egyptians were 00:15:47.80\00:15:51.79 on their way to get us and take us back 00:15:51.82\00:15:53.97 into that horrible place to do those 00:15:54.00\00:15:56.02 horrible tasks for that horrible man 00:15:56.05\00:15:58.65 named Pharaoh. There we were on our way 00:15:58.68\00:16:02.06 to the Promised Land, we were so happy, 00:16:02.09\00:16:04.24 we were singing and we were rejoicing 00:16:04.27\00:16:05.98 until we heard something in the 00:16:06.01\00:16:07.77 background. We didn't know what 00:16:07.80\00:16:10.29 it was at first until we finally could hear it 00:16:10.32\00:16:12.63 and see it. It was Pharaoh's entire army 00:16:12.66\00:16:15.97 coming after us to take us back in the slavery. 00:16:16.00\00:16:19.30 Well we were so nervous and said to Moses, 00:16:19.33\00:16:22.97 my father many of them and many of us were 00:16:23.00\00:16:25.62 so ungrateful. We said you brought us out here 00:16:25.65\00:16:27.89 in the wilderness to die. Now we are going 00:16:27.92\00:16:31.49 to die at the hand of the Egyptians here. 00:16:31.52\00:16:34.30 We were at the border of the Red Sea, 00:16:34.33\00:16:36.64 there we were. The sea was in front of us, 00:16:36.67\00:16:40.70 mountains on either side, and Pharaoh's army 00:16:40.73\00:16:43.12 in the back. We were in lots and lots of 00:16:43.15\00:16:46.10 trouble. Moses had led us. We didn't know 00:16:46.13\00:16:50.76 what to do. Moses walked up to the Red Sea 00:16:50.79\00:16:53.39 and he took his rod like this one 00:16:53.42\00:16:55.71 and he stretched it out over the Red Sea 00:16:55.74\00:16:59.22 and would you believe that the water's parted 00:16:59.25\00:17:04.46 directly down the middle. I mean the water 00:17:04.49\00:17:07.66 has went this way, and they went that way 00:17:07.69\00:17:09.26 and they went up and they went up 00:17:09.29\00:17:10.72 and they went back and the sea parted. 00:17:10.75\00:17:13.78 The big old great big Red Sea parted. 00:17:13.81\00:17:17.21 And it was like dry ground, like this ground 00:17:18.56\00:17:21.30 right here we are sitting on. Dry ground, 00:17:21.33\00:17:24.04 God had opened the Red Sea for us to walk 00:17:24.07\00:17:26.34 through and all of the, all of God's people, 00:17:26.37\00:17:29.47 all of us Israelites led by my father Moses. 00:17:29.50\00:17:32.66 We all walked through the Red Sea. 00:17:32.69\00:17:35.14 Could you put your hand through the water? 00:17:35.17\00:17:36.89 You can put your hand through the water. 00:17:36.92\00:17:38.50 You could touch a fish, you can do lots of 00:17:38.53\00:17:40.42 things, we can see some of the big whales 00:17:40.45\00:17:42.70 and everything in the water what 00:17:42.73\00:17:44.23 either side of us. God was given us a path 00:17:44.26\00:17:46.57 all the way through, and we walked through 00:17:46.60\00:17:49.80 the Red Sea. What a great day it was 00:17:49.83\00:17:53.53 and we finally got all the way through 00:17:53.56\00:17:55.17 the Red Sea, Pharaoh's army they were nervous 00:17:55.20\00:17:57.53 at first, but when they saw what's going 00:17:57.56\00:17:58.74 through they came through too, 00:17:58.77\00:18:00.09 but the water started to come back a little 00:18:00.12\00:18:02.65 and got a little bit muddy and when the 00:18:02.68\00:18:04.60 entire army, Pharaoh's army got in the 00:18:04.63\00:18:07.16 Red Sea the water collapsed on them 00:18:07.19\00:18:09.76 and every single one of Pharaoh's army 00:18:09.79\00:18:12.88 were drowned in the Red Sea. 00:18:12.91\00:18:15.62 God once again took care of us. 00:18:15.65\00:18:18.94 He promised he would. He promised that 00:18:18.97\00:18:21.29 he take care of us and he took care of us 00:18:21.32\00:18:23.22 on that great day when God parted the Red Sea. 00:18:23.25\00:18:27.63 And he will take care of us, I know 00:18:27.66\00:18:30.22 he will always. Can you tell us 00:18:30.25\00:18:32.64 another story or tell it again please, please. 00:18:32.67\00:18:36.01 No, no, no I'm sorry, I didn't want, 00:18:36.04\00:18:37.24 not today I'm so tired. Oh come 00:18:37.27\00:18:40.13 to me here little one oh. 00:18:40.16\00:18:41.86 I will sing of the mercies of the Lord 00:19:03.44\00:19:07.07 forever I will sing, I will sing. 00:19:07.10\00:19:11.98 I will sing of the mercies of the Lord 00:19:12.01\00:19:15.20 forever, I will sing of the mercies 00:19:15.23\00:19:18.10 of the Lord. And it is quite 00:20:05.93\00:20:10.49 the book too. It is "Detective Zack 00:20:10.52\00:20:12.50 Mystery on the Midway" by Jerry D. Thomas 00:20:12.53\00:20:15.39 It says when Zack first gets to the county fair 00:20:15.42\00:20:18.31 his biggest problem is keeping Grandma's 00:20:18.34\00:20:20.39 prize-winning chickens behind the bars. 00:20:20.42\00:20:22.34 But a lost hamster and a stolen camera 00:20:22.37\00:20:25.75 leave Zack, Kayla and Dusty with no answers 00:20:25.78\00:20:29.10 and until the mysterious Madame LaTonn 00:20:29.13\00:20:31.93 ask Angels to help them. Suddenly Zack 00:20:31.96\00:20:35.53 has two mysteries to solve and is their new 00:20:35.56\00:20:40.01 friend Donavan, really the thief and can 00:20:40.04\00:20:43.58 Madame LaTonn really talked with angels 00:20:43.61\00:20:46.66 and are angels waiting to do whatever people 00:20:46.69\00:20:49.48 ask between riding the fears will talking 00:20:49.51\00:20:52.71 with the suspicious security guard 00:20:52.74\00:20:54.27 and visiting the gambols with his new county 00:20:54.30\00:20:57.05 friend Zack searches for clues. 00:20:57.08\00:20:59.70 Adding the chicken with the bad attitude 00:20:59.73\00:21:02.16 alarm on the loose and strange messages 00:21:02.19\00:21:05.45 from Madame LaTonn's Blue Angle 00:21:05.48\00:21:08.13 and once again Zack is up to his hat in a 00:21:08.16\00:21:11.49 mystery that leads to a discovery of truth, 00:21:11.52\00:21:14.19 this time the truth about angels. 00:21:14.22\00:21:17.22 Oh that sounds good. Doesn't it sound 00:21:17.25\00:21:18.74 good Hannah? Yeah. Oh that sound like book 00:21:18.77\00:21:21.62 you wanna read. Yeah definitely. I would like 00:21:28.30\00:21:29.47 you to talk to and this is Josie. 00:21:29.50\00:21:32.36 Hi Josie. Hi Miss. Brenda. Hi I'm so glad 00:21:32.39\00:21:35.26 to talk with you. And how much do you love Jesus. 00:22:22.46\00:22:26.16 Oh very much. I know you do. 00:22:26.19\00:22:28.74 Well thank you so much for sharing 00:22:28.77\00:22:30.19 and you know what I know that you have a 00:22:30.22\00:22:31.77 sister Jilli. And can you tell me 00:22:50.77\00:22:53.54 is there anything new you have been doing 00:22:53.57\00:22:55.08 to share Jesus? Yeah I share Jesus 00:22:55.11\00:22:57.88 through my music. We went out to 3ABN 00:22:57.91\00:23:01.39 four times this year. Oh yes you do, 00:23:01.42\00:23:05.04 you are sharing through your music 00:23:05.07\00:23:06.34 and you, tell what kind of instruments 00:23:06.37\00:23:07.85 do you play. I play the piano, harp, dulcimer, 00:23:07.88\00:23:11.81 and we started taking Organ 00:23:11.84\00:23:14.27 and gets all I can. Wow isn't that something 00:23:14.30\00:23:17.58 and what's your favorite instrument? 00:23:17.61\00:23:18.86 Well I like them all. You like them all. 00:23:18.89\00:23:22.20 That's a good answer. Well I want to thank 00:23:22.23\00:23:25.17 you so much for all that you do for Jesus 00:23:25.20\00:23:27.36 and I want to encourage you both to keep 00:23:27.39\00:23:28.83 sharing Jesus won't you? Yes. 00:23:28.86\00:23:30.59 Alright thanks for talking to us. 00:23:30.62\00:23:32.69 Yeah. Bye, bye for now. Thank you so much 00:23:32.72\00:23:35.49 that was good to talk to them aren't they, 00:23:35.52\00:23:36.93 and they do a lot of, they really hard work 00:23:36.96\00:23:39.92 and it takes lots of hours of practice 00:23:39.95\00:23:41.90 and boys and girls if you would like to be on 00:23:41.93\00:23:43.28 Kids Time, all you have do is send me a video 00:23:43.31\00:23:46.34 of your playing your musical instrument 00:23:46.37\00:23:47.97 or singing whatever it is that you play 00:23:48.00\00:23:49.65 and send it to me at 3ABN and I'll look 00:23:49.68\00:23:52.78 at all the tapes and then I will contact you 00:23:52.81\00:23:54.50 and we will get you booked for the program 00:23:54.53\00:23:55.73 okay. Well before I start reading my letters 00:23:55.76\00:23:58.82 I have Hannah here with me and Hannah 00:23:58.85\00:24:00.75 it's so good to have you on the program. 00:24:00.78\00:24:02.19 First of all how old are you and where are you 00:24:02.22\00:24:04.61 from. I'm 10-years-old and I'm from Green Bay, 00:24:04.64\00:24:06.85 Wisconsin. Oh you know Miss. Brenda use to live 00:24:06.88\00:24:09.64 in Wisconsin in fact. I graduated from 00:24:09.67\00:24:11.93 Wisconsin Academy did you know that? 00:24:11.96\00:24:13.54 No I didn't. Have you ever been to 00:24:13.57\00:24:15.33 Wisconsin Academy? Yes I have. 00:24:15.36\00:24:17.13 You have, so that's a pretty nice school 00:24:17.16\00:24:18.86 there isn't it? Yeah. And that is so; 00:24:18.89\00:24:20.36 let me ask you have you had a chance to share 00:24:20.39\00:24:22.77 Jesus recently? Yes just recently 00:24:22.80\00:24:24.75 I was at a summer camp and there was a girl 00:24:24.78\00:24:27.43 my in tent and she doesn't have very many 00:24:27.46\00:24:30.02 friends and she didn't know Jesus very well. 00:24:30.05\00:24:32.30 So I tried to witness to her as much as I 00:24:32.33\00:24:35.69 could and I just hang out with her 00:24:35.72\00:24:37.75 and just be her friend. Oh that was, 00:24:37.78\00:24:41.71 that was really a good thing to do. 00:24:41.74\00:24:43.65 You know its really sad sometimes 00:24:43.68\00:24:45.46 when someone usually sometimes 00:24:45.49\00:24:47.09 if they are shy, they can come across 00:24:47.12\00:24:49.63 as maybe snooty or whatever 00:24:49.66\00:24:52.66 and really they just shy and they are not, 00:24:52.69\00:24:54.96 you know bad person at all, 00:24:54.99\00:24:56.43 they just you know don't know how to interact 00:24:56.46\00:24:58.03 with others. So it's really good 00:24:58.06\00:24:59.67 when you take that step because 00:24:59.70\00:25:00.92 that's a Christian thing they do isn't it 00:25:00.95\00:25:02.25 and be friends, be friends with the 00:25:02.28\00:25:03.92 unfriendly and it's easy to be friends 00:25:03.95\00:25:05.68 with somebody you know that you like 00:25:05.71\00:25:07.47 and that's bubbly and laughing 00:25:07.50\00:25:08.66 all the time right. But Jesus wants us to be 00:25:08.69\00:25:11.01 friends with everyone doesn't he. 00:25:11.04\00:25:12.42 And you know it will be nice if you keep praying 00:25:12.45\00:25:15.11 for that friend. Yeah I will. 00:25:15.14\00:25:16.50 Alright that's good. Well would like to hear 00:25:16.53\00:25:18.88 some of our letters. Sure!
