00:03 It's time to share there's world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 let's tell them that he loves us so, let's tell them 00:18 that he loves us so. Kids time, kids time, 00:23 kids time, kids time. Umm! It just seems like 00:26 I'm missing something I've got tomatoes, 00:28 lettuce, cucumbers, pecans, onions, tofu, 00:32 soy milk, salt, yeast, flour, what am I missing. 00:36 Oh, hi boys and girls, I'm just sitting here 00:39 making out my grocery list, you know what I got 00:41 up this morning and I realized that my 00:43 cupboards are almost bare. So you know what 00:46 I've got go do some shopping this afternoon. 00:49 But, it seems like there is just something 00:51 missing on my list. I can't quite remember, 00:55 I've got apples, oranges, cereal, rice, oats, 01:00 what is there. Oh, now remember I'm all out of oil. 01:07 I've gone shopping twice this week and I've 01:10 forgotten to buy the oil each time, oh, let me 01:13 just write this time before I forgot, oil right 01:15 here, I'm even gonna put a little star next to it. 01:18 Good, right there now I should remember. 01:21 You know what, that reminds me of our 01:23 Bible story today. It's about a woman who 01:26 never ran out of oil. Now for years and years 01:29 she had all the oil that she needed and she 01:31 never had to go shopping for it. 01:33 Wouldn't that be wonderful. How would you like to 01:35 always have groceries in your cupboard and 01:37 never have to go shopping for them. 01:40 Well are you a little bit curious about why she 01:42 always had oil. I know I'm, but first we gonna 01:45 wait till Ranger Jim shows us what he has today. 01:55 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 01:57 welcome to Nature Time. We're in Knoxville, Tennessee 02:00 at the Ijams Nature Center and we are 02:02 having a wonderful time here. I Have my friend Pam 02:05 with me who is a biologist here and we 02:07 have some insects in here, what are these 02:09 creatures Pam? Oh, they are wonderful, 02:11 these are called bess beetles. Bess beetles. 02:14 Uh huh, and beetles are one particular order of 02:17 insects and there is about 30 different 02:20 orders of insects. And children can easily tell a 02:23 beetle by it's body shape and well, we can look at 02:27 that further in just a minute here. 02:29 They are in here. They are in here and if 02:31 you hear a little noise coming from here that's 02:33 then making the sound. They love to be in rotting, 02:37 indicating wood and as a matter of fact you can 02:39 see how soft this soil and wood is and that's 02:42 where they love to be, we've gotten some out 02:44 of the forest and they like to be in there where 02:48 they can hide underneath. It's nice and cool. 02:51 It's nice and cool. Exactly, and they're fairly 02:54 good size insects and again you know we 02:58 wanted to remind the children not to handle, 03:00 not to just turn a log over and reach under 03:03 and grab whatever is there. We would like to encourage 03:06 them to go to programs in their community 03:09 where they can learn more about insects and 03:11 other animals and that to never handle even a 03:14 little guy like this without an adult 03:16 knowing what it is. They have pinchers 03:19 on there front. They do, that would be 03:21 probably help them in getting through the 03:23 wooden things, they live in kind of loose 03:26 colonies, kind of a family group type structure. 03:29 And they're very, very interesting. They are part 03:33 of the whole decomposition in the forest. 03:37 You know when we recycle that's very 03:38 important to do that but nature has been 03:40 recycling for however long, for however long, 03:44 and all new leaves and branches, like there is a 03:47 branch laying over here on the side that would 03:49 be gonna in a couple of years. 03:50 Recycled back into the forest. 03:52 And this little guy is one of the best recyclers 03:55 as they eat through the wood. They are actually helping 03:58 to break that and become part of the soil again. 04:01 Developing this soil, isn't that amazing. 04:03 It is, one of the wonderful things here 04:06 on this guy we can really see the body parts. 04:08 You know we have the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. 04:11 And the classic beetle shape. And usually beetles when 04:15 they're babies they don't look like this. 04:17 They're very different, they go through a 04:19 metamorphosis, a complete body change, 04:22 but when they're adults they usually have this 04:25 nice line that comes down the abdomen and 04:28 usually sometimes it's actually called in the 04:32 light of the wing covers actually come down and 04:34 its like one of those neat cars, you know that 04:36 closes back up like the sunroof closes. 04:38 When they usually see a really neat line down 04:41 the back, and that usually tells us they 04:43 we're looking at someone in the order of beetles. 04:45 And beetles are some of the most numerous, on that 04:48 particular order is just some of the most 04:50 numerous of the insects. Well that's one, and boys 04:53 and girls could find these in their neighborhoods, 04:56 but once again you remember boys and girls 04:58 what Pam told you okay, we don't go. 05:00 I've seen this happen with a group of boys and girls 05:03 going through the woods, turning over a 05:04 log and grabbing snakes and anything that's 05:08 there and it can be very dangerous because in 05:10 some areas there are copperheads and even 05:12 rattlesnakes that will hide under those logs. 05:15 So, don't just go running through the woods and 05:17 grabbing that boys and girls and remember 05:19 what Pam has told us, treat them with great 05:21 carefulness because you can injure them. 05:23 Injure them and ruin their homes. 05:25 You know if we flip a log over and then tear it 05:27 all up underneath, all the thousands of little 05:29 tiny microscopic animals that live there, 05:31 no longer have a home. That true and even if 05:33 you take them in a collection 05:34 box boys and girls. Now you may want to 05:36 take them and show mom and dad or take 05:38 them somewhere carefully for a short 05:40 period of time, but carefully then take them 05:43 back to their environment where you got them 05:44 and release them. Exactly. Because they 05:47 would know where to find food. If you put 05:49 them in the wrong place it would be 05:50 too hot or too cold. So, you remember that 05:52 a wonderful lesson we've learned again 05:54 Pam, thank you so much. Boys and girls Ranger Jim 05:57 telling you, don't forget to tell Jesus that you 05:59 love him, because he really does love you. 06:11 Rejoice in the lord always and again I say 06:14 rejoice, umm! That may be what Mr. Plumptre 06:18 was thinking of when he wrote this song. 06:23 It needed to be long enough for the whole choir. 06:28 So, he wrote 11 verses, Oops! I need one more 06:33 finger. But, then cut it short to only five. 06:39 Come on everybody sing with us now. 06:51 Rejoice ye pure in heart; Rejoice, give thanks, 06:57 and sing; Your glorious banner wave on high, 07:02 The cross of Christ your King. Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, 07:11 Give thanks and sing. With voice as full and strong 07:18 As ocean's surging praise, Send forth the hymns 07:25 our fathers loved, The psalms of ancient days. 07:29 Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, Give thanks and sing. 07:41 Yes, on through life's long path, 07:45 Still chanting as ye go; From youth to age, 07:51 by night and day, In gladness and in woe. 07:56 Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, Give thanks and sing. 08:13 Hi, today we are making Pupusas now 08:16 I bet you're wondering what Pupusas are, but if 08:18 you live in El Salvador I'm sure you would 08:20 know because they eat them for just about every meal. 08:23 I learned about them from our friends Betty 08:25 and William Vargas. Now let me read the recipe for you. 08:29 2 cups of Masa Harina 1 cup of water 08:35 1 tbsp. of Mckay's Chicken style seasoning (to taste) 08:39 1/2 tsp. of salt and Filling-such as refried 08:44 beans, soy cheese, green chilies, or whatever 08:47 kind of things you like to use. 08:49 Now we're gonna start out by starting with our 08:52 Masa and pour that into our bowl. Also salt and 08:57 just use this as about a teaspoon, but just to 09:02 taste you know you don't wanna, if it's too 09:03 salty, you don't wanna use too much and if it's 09:06 not salty enough you can add a little bit more salt. 09:10 Stir that up, and now we're gonna add our water. 09:16 Now if you don't want the dough too dry and 09:19 you don't want it too wet. So, if its too dry you can 09:24 add a little bit more water, it's gonna be 09:29 this now, it's lot easier with your hands, but 09:32 just to make sure that you use, 09:35 you wash your hands first. We're just gonna mix up 09:39 your dough now when you get it all mixed up, 09:43 basically all mixed up, it's gonna be a little bit 09:46 at the bottom. Its about the right consistency, 09:51 you're gonna take them into little patties. 09:55 Just like this, now you don't want them to be 09:57 too thick, but you don't want them too thin either. 10:00 It's about like that, I have a plate here, 10:03 well maybe I don't, but you'll make two of them 10:09 like this and squish them down. 10:12 Now our friends William and they used, 10:19 they used and Betty used to make these and 10:20 they had all sorts of different fillings you 10:22 can put in them. And they used to bring them all 10:25 the time to potlucks, to where people use to 10:28 think that that's all she could make, but really 10:30 she was a very good cook, but my mom and I 10:32 just loved them so much that, that she 10:37 would make them for us all the time. 10:39 Once you get them out like this, take your 10:42 beans, there's some refried beans. 10:45 And where you can also use soy cheese 10:46 or chilly peppers. And just make a little 10:52 like a little dent in the center, they might crack 10:54 a little bit but they'll still be okay. 10:56 Just put a little bit of refried beans, 11:00 just like that and put the other one on top. 11:05 And you can kind just squish the edges together. 11:11 And it might not stay too well but it should be okay. 11:15 Now, I already have a medium skillet heating 11:17 over here and it's gonna take my pan cooking spray 11:20 or my any kind of nonstick cooking spray 11:23 that you like, just spray it over here and put this 11:29 Pupusas on, now you're just gonna fry it on here. 11:33 For just a little while until both sides are 11:35 brown and we're gonna flip it until both sides 11:36 they're both brown and I've a 11:38 finished product to show you. 11:43 Looks like beautiful and they're delicious. 11:48 Now remember you can serve these with some 11:50 refried beans or some on rice and you can put 11:53 anything you want in them, just depending on 11:55 how much if you don't like refried beans, 11:57 but even put veggie meat in them, they are 11:58 delicious either way. And I know that when 12:01 I first had them, I loved them. 12:04 Betty was a great cook, but I know that you can 12:06 make them too. So, until next time 12:08 remember to keep cooking and eat healthy. 12:39 Jordan come back over here, Jordan come back 12:45 over here. Yeah, why don't you play with 12:49 some rocks right here. Peter, look who is here, 12:52 Peter look who is here, look who came to play. 12:54 Who? Jordan came and Noah came and 12:57 Hannah, why don't you play together here. 12:59 So, how are you these days. Oh, I'm doing so well, 13:03 I'm so glad you came to see. Yes, I haven't seen you 13:06 in a while. Peter's older brother is 13:08 helping the neighbors and he gets so lonely 13:11 when he is gone. There are like two peas in a pod. 13:13 Oh, yeah. So, thank you for 13:15 bringing your kids, oh, and I wanted to make 13:16 sure I gave this to you. Oh, yes, why did you 13:19 do with all of these jars. Oh, what an amazing 13:22 story you know when my husband died, 13:26 he left some big debts that I could not pay, 13:29 then the creditor came and said you must pay me now. 13:32 Oh, no what did you do. Well I said I don't have 13:35 anything to give you. Can't you give me some 13:38 time please. And he said well you must sell 13:42 your sons then. Oh, no. Can you imagine. No. 13:45 Selling your sons, I couldn't sell my son and the 13:48 only person I could think to turn to was Elijah. 13:51 Oh, the prophet. Yes. Oh, yes what he 13:54 tell you to you. Well, I went to him and 13:56 he said the strangest thing, he said what do 13:59 you have in your house. And I thought well the 14:02 only thing I have of any value is just a little oil. 14:06 I said all I have is a little oil. 14:09 He said go to all your neighbors and get all 14:11 the pots you can. Not just one, but many and 14:15 so my boys and I we went to all the 14:18 neighbors, I came to you and we got all the 14:21 pots we could. We put them in our house and 14:24 I started pouring. We poured and we poured, 14:27 right, how much do we pour, a lot. 14:32 Did you pour a lot of oil. A bunch. A bunch, a bunch, 14:36 we kept pouring and pouring and when I saw 14:38 that we were running out I told my sons 14:41 please run find more pots. Maybe someone 14:44 had an extra one. Did you find anymore? 14:46 No, and do you know that oil stopped when 14:51 we were all out of pots. That is just amazing. 14:55 We were had our eyes just big as we saw all 14:59 that oil that God had provided for us. 15:05 That is just wonderful. And were you are able 15:07 to sell it and pay off your debt. 15:09 Well, that's just the thing. We not only paid off the 15:12 creditor all we owed. But, we had money left 15:15 over to live on. And I could began a business 15:18 and make pottery. Mommy, it won't fit. 15:21 Oh, let me try to get this on better honey. 15:25 There we go, there we go. That is just so wonderful. 15:27 Oh, where was I? You were telling me 15:29 about all the money that you have left over from the oil. 15:32 Oh, yes, God not only provided for our 15:34 immediate needs and for me to have my sons with me. 15:38 That is so wonderful. But, he proved for our 15:39 needs that we had in the future. God is so good 15:43 and he takes care of us is such an amazing way. 15:46 Yes, yes he does. Peter, Peter come here. 15:50 Jordan, come back, come here. I don't like to see you 15:53 fighting honey, can you play nicely with Jordan. 15:56 Oh, she told us the most wonderful story. 16:00 They had some oil pots and they poured oil 16:03 until it didn't come out anymore 16:05 and God is taking care. Okay, but I don't like to 16:07 pretend. Yes, God takes care of all of us doesn't he. 17:27 Hi, boys and girls, I have Noah joining me 17:29 today and he gonna help me introduce, the 17:32 book of the day. And we have an exciting 17:36 book for you today. It's called Flying High with 17:39 Katy Pistole and it's a Sunrise Farm Series Book 3. 17:43 And let me share with you this. Sunny is free 17:45 but can Jenny forgive. Jenny Thomas is mad! 17:50 She is mad at her dad for moving from 17:51 Northern Virginia. She is mad at Daniel for not 17:54 helping rescue Sunny and her colt, Fury, from 17:56 his aunt's abuse. And she is mad at Mrs. DuBois 18:01 for hurting the horses; and mad at herself for 18:04 leading Mrs. DuBois to Sunny in the first place. 18:08 A week on famous horse trainer Colton Wright's 18:10 ranch produces amazing changes in the badly 18:13 frightened Palomino and her colt. Colton's 18:16 gentle methods works wonders. But Jenny's 18:18 anger boils inside of her like white-hot lava in 18:22 her stomach whenever she thinks of the people 18:25 who hurt her precious horses. And jumping competition 18:28 provides the perfect setting for Jenny to 18:30 show what a gifted jumper Sunny really is, 18:33 but when Jenny learns that one of the main 18:35 sponsors of the competition is none 18:37 other than Vanessa Dubois herself she 18:40 thinks of quitting. Oh, can Jenny trust God to 18:45 forgive and be free? A record-breaking jump, 18:49 Sunny's reputation, and Jenny's relationship 18:51 with God are all at stake when Jenny and her 18:55 Palomino champion come face to face with 18:58 their old enemy. I wonder who that enemy 19:01 is now and I wonder what happened, but 19:03 you're gonna have to wait and read the book 19:05 boys and girls. Flying High by Katy Pistole. 19:09 Well, I want to tell you I'm so glad today to 19:11 have Noah with me and his brother Jesse. 19:15 Hi guys, how are you. Good. You are, listen you did 19:19 some really special, I've these memory verse cards 19:22 and they have pretty pictures on and lots of 19:24 memory verses on them and you did something 19:27 very special with these cards, you want to tell 19:29 me about it. Jesse what did you do? 19:31 We handed them out to people at Wal-Mart. 19:34 At Wal-Mart, what kind of the store is Wal-Mart. 19:36 Some people don't have Wal-Marts in their country. 19:38 A big gigantic place with almost 19:40 all the stuff you need. That's a pretty good 19:42 description probably. And what did you do exactly. 19:48 We passed out these cards, when you walked 19:50 up to them, did you tell them Jesus loves him or 19:52 how did you do it. We said Jesus loves you, 19:55 this is for you. This is for you and what 19:58 Noah what happened, did you do that too. 20:00 Hmm. And what happened when you did that? 20:04 They did reach and take your card? Hmm. 20:06 And did they do? They say anything to you. Yes. 20:10 What did they say? Thank you. 20:12 They say thank you. Did they seem pretty happy? Yeah. 20:15 Did they ask you what is was? No. 20:19 No, most people just took it. Yeah. 20:21 Did anybody ask you what it was. 20:23 I said it was memory verse card. 20:26 Yeah, you said just told me it was memory verse card. 20:28 Now me. Not you, what did you do? 20:32 I was just handing them out. You were just 20:35 handing them out. To people. And what did you say 20:39 when you handed them out? The same thing 20:43 that I was writing. Can you tell the boys and girls 20:46 what you said? What did you say when you 20:51 gave them the card. Jesus love you and this is for you. 20:55 Jesus love you and this is for you. And did you 20:58 do anything else with the cards? 20:59 What else did you do? Once when we were just 21:05 about to leave, I had to put some on the cars. 21:08 On the car? I have the rest, there's more, that they 21:15 had for us give and when you are shopping, 21:21 we were shopping too. You just passed them 21:25 out while you're shopping too and that 21:27 was good, you know I think you passed out 21:28 probably around 60 cards that what I hear. 21:31 And that's a lot of cards in this isn't it. 21:34 And you made all those contacts and you know 21:36 what, I'm sure someone is gonna get that card 21:37 and they're gonna read and look at that pretty 21:39 picture and go what is this, and it says right 21:41 here like they have different memory 21:42 verses on them. It says The Lord has done great 21:46 things for us and we are filled 21:47 with joy, Psalms 1:26:3. And it has all different 21:51 Bible verses. That's wonderful isn't it? 21:53 That's a wonderful way to share Jesus. 21:55 Did you have fun doing it? Yeah. 21:58 Would you like to do it again? Yeah. 22:00 You would, that was fun. Well you know what, I think 22:02 you have some cards left here, may be you 22:04 can do it again. Does that sound like a good plan? 22:06 Umm! It does. Do you love Jesus Noah? Yeah. 22:09 And o you love Jesus Jesse? Umm! Umm! 22:11 When we love Jesus we want to share Jesus with 22:15 everyone else don't we? Because when we have 22:16 Jesus in our hearts, we don't wanna just keep 22:18 him for ourselves. It's just too good, we wanna 22:21 share with everyone else and that's what 22:22 Jesus wants us to do isn't it? Yes. Yes it is. 22:26 Well thank you so much for coming and telling me 22:28 that and maybe boys and girls, maybe you 22:30 can even if you don't have memory verses cards 22:31 with these pretty pictures on them. 22:33 Maybe you could make like this, and write your 22:36 own memory verse. You could draw a pretty 22:38 picture and write a memory verse on it and 22:40 then you could pass them out to people and 22:42 just give a big smile on your face, did you 22:43 remember to smile Noah. Yup. You did, let me 22:46 see your big smile. Yeah, that's good, 22:48 I love that smile. And Jesse do you have a big smile? 22:51 Alright, boys and girls keep a big smile on 22:54 your face when you are witnessing for Jesus, 22:56 okay. Well you know what I know somebody 22:59 far away from here that love Jesus very much, 23:02 lets go all the way to Nigeria and a little girl 23:05 there is gonna tell you how she loves Jesus. 23:08 Hello viewers, my name is Estalion Marion, a people 23:12 of Seventh-day Adventist nursery school Calabar, 23:15 Nigeria.
