00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:06 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids time, kids time, kids time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls do you see these tiny kernels of grain 00:28 I have here. Look and take a little closer look, 00:31 look at that have you guessed what it is? 00:34 Well, if you guessed wheat kernels. 00:36 You are right and you can cook a lot of things 00:40 with wheat. In fact every week I take these kernels 00:43 and I grind them in my wheat grinder. 00:45 And then that's makes flours and from the flour 00:48 I make delicious wheat bread. 00:50 And I love wheat bread. You can also make 00:53 pasta out of wheat and pie crust. 00:56 You can even have cooked wheat 00:58 cereals for your breakfast. 01:00 You know, you would be amazed 01:01 that how many things that the grocery store 01:02 contains wheat. Not to mention there is other 01:05 grains like corn and rice and oats. 01:07 So, what if we find out a famine 01:10 was coming and during that time nothing would grow 01:13 and I mean nothing. The rain would stop 01:16 and the ground would dry up 01:17 and even the weeds would die away 01:20 for years and years and years. 01:22 Now, what would we eat and how would we feed 01:24 our animals? You know we would sure be scrambling 01:27 to find to figure out how to grow and store 01:29 a lot of food quickly wouldn't we? 01:32 And I am sure we would want someone to in charge 01:34 who knew how to prepare for that sort of thing like, 01:37 may be a grain farmer or a famine expert. 01:41 Well, you know thousands of years ago, 01:43 an Egyptian Pharaoh was warned 01:45 that a famine was coming. And he decided 01:48 that he better put somebody in charge 01:51 who knew what they were doing. 01:53 All he didn't appoint a grain farmer 01:55 or a famine expert. Who did he choose 01:59 and why? Well, we will find out 02:01 in our Bible story today, 02:02 but first why do we find out 02:04 what Ranger Jim has to show us today. 02:13 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:15 welcome to nature time. 02:16 We are glad you can join us today, 02:17 we are in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at a place 02:19 called Ripley's Aquarium for the Smokiest 02:21 it is a fun place to be there boys and girls 02:24 worldwide here and my friend Todd 02:27 and I have been going back and forth 02:28 and seeing all these creatures. 02:29 You will hear lot of noise in the back ground 02:31 as I say boys and girls having fun. 02:33 We don't want to do shut down all of their fun 02:35 and so we're talking anyway. 02:36 We hope you enjoy the program 02:38 and Todd, we were down stairs looking at a fish 02:40 and it has four eyes is this true 02:42 that a fish has four eyes. I would say 02:44 it's called the four eye fish but it really doesn't 02:46 have four eyes, it only has two eyes 02:48 just like you and I do, except these pupils 02:50 are they didn't have so you can see 02:53 in four directions at the same time. 02:54 Amazing. You can see with each eye, 02:57 you can see above water and below water. 02:59 The above water eyes see up in the air, 03:02 you can spot is going to eat for lunch. 03:04 The below water eyes, you can see 03:06 under the surface of water watching for predators 03:08 and make sure nobody can eat him for lunch. 03:10 Yeah. Yeah. That's handy to have 03:12 because there is always something in the water 03:14 looking for that all other like that. 03:15 Well are these fish that we saw this are adult 03:18 that's they are body's large as they get to be. 03:20 In fact, yep, those guys are adults, 03:22 they are adults like that and what about these. 03:26 How do they reproduce? They reproduce they, 03:29 they have live reproduction do they or do they lay eggs? 03:32 Say unlike a lot of fish these fish don't lay eggs. 03:35 They're gonna give birth to live young, 03:37 just like it got be would. 03:38 Right, that is so interesting to me, 03:41 when we were down there and I was watching them, 03:43 I see that they were laying on the surface 03:45 and I was just amazed because occasionally 03:48 boys and girls when you're out looking in the water 03:50 and you reached down to pick up a stone 03:52 have you noticed that because you're looking 03:54 through the water the stone isn't where you touch it 03:56 you will have to feel around a bit. 03:57 Yet God made this creature where he can look out 04:00 and see accurately under water. 04:03 What a marvelous eye that is. 04:05 So, these, well, are these fish native to U.S? 04:09 Not so much to the U.S further South 04:11 towards Mexico going into South America. 04:13 Generally in fresh water but there is a fear 04:15 that make into brackish water 04:17 and then a few more make it to costal marine waters. 04:21 Tell me, we were looking at another tag 04:24 that was their next to that one 04:26 and it was something called mudskipper. 04:28 Yes. A mudskipper, 04:30 and is it true that these fish can live out of water? 04:34 It is true they can live out of water, 04:36 but not far from water. 04:38 Unlike you and me who breathe through lungs 04:41 we can stay away from water. Fish have gills, 04:44 and their gills, is how they breathe instead of lungs. 04:47 Their gills needs to stay wet at all time 04:49 so yes they come out of water 04:51 and bounce on the mud, but they have to keep 04:53 their gills wetted all times 04:54 otherwise they can't breathe. So, as long 04:57 as they are close to water 04:58 they can survive in the air for a little bit. 05:00 Isn't that amazing they call it mudskipper 05:01 because boys and girls as they grow up across mud. 05:04 Toeing, toeing, toeing, toeing, toeing 05:05 and they skip across like that and back in forth 05:07 and if you have been aware of salamanders 05:11 or even frogs and things of that nature. 05:13 This is the way the salamanders do 05:15 they are able to absorb a great of amount of oxygen 05:18 through their skins they don't have to 05:20 have as much oxygen through either their gills 05:22 or through their lungs as we do. 05:24 And as I have told you another programs 05:26 and Todd just referred to that we have lungs 05:29 and we breathe air, we get the oxygen from our lungs, 05:32 this oxygen makes our blood. Fish have gills 05:35 and that's their method of doing that 05:37 and so if you put your head under water 05:38 and hold your head under water 05:40 you soon have to come up for oxygen 05:41 and this is the way with a mudskipper, 05:43 he can be away from the water for a while 05:45 but he must keep his skin moist and his gills moist 05:48 and then he has to come back, 05:49 I have heard people saying they can go out 05:51 and live for long periods of time 05:52 not they have to stay near the water don't they. 05:54 They always to be moist. If their gills dry out 05:57 they are not going to survive very long. 05:59 They are not gonna have to, they have to stay there 06:00 and be moist to be alive. So, 06:02 yes, neither one of these, 06:04 two of these creatures that we talked about 06:05 boys and girls are so interesting 06:07 and be fun to have Todd to come your school 06:09 or to church and talk to us about them 06:11 but we don't have time for all these thing. 06:13 Perhaps, Todd thank you for coming in 06:15 and telling about that. Thank you. 06:16 And boys and girls, once again. 06:18 Ranger Jim telling you 06:20 don't forget to tell the Jesus that you love him 06:22 because he really does love you. 06:25 Hi, I'm here to tell you about Alfred Ackley. 06:34 In Alfred Ackley's home family worship played 06:37 a very important time. One morning his dad read 06:40 from Psalms 1. They prayed and then 06:41 God on with their day. Alfred's mother asked 06:44 Alfred to go down to the store to buy her some 06:46 things. Alfred liked to do this 06:48 because there was a lot of thing to see at the store. 06:51 While he was walking down; he kept thinking of the 06:53 verses dad had read. Trees planted by river. 06:55 Trees are not easily moved. So, when we got home him 06:58 and his dad read the verse again 06:59 and thought it would make a very good hymn. 07:01 So, they were done the music, 07:03 were in been quickly. This hymn is called 07:06 I shall not be moved; 07:07 it is being sung all over the world then 07:08 translated into many languages. 07:10 I shall not be moved. Boys and girls 07:14 every time you sing this hymn. 07:16 You're telling the whole world 07:17 that you will not be moved away from Jesus. 07:19 Jesus is my savior, "I shall not be moved" 07:28 In His love and favor, I shall not be moved 07:31 Just like a tree that's planted by the waters 07:37 I shall not be moved In my Christ abiding, 07:43 I shall not be moved In His love I'm hiding, 07:47 I shall not be moved Just like a tree 07:50 that's planted by the waters I shall not be moved. 07:57 I shall not be. I shall not be moved. 08:01 I shall not be. I shall not be moved 08:05 Just like a tree that's planted by the waters 08:09 I shall not be moved. On His word I'm feeding, 08:15 I shall not be moved. He is the one that's leading. 08:19 I shall not be moved Just like a tree 08:22 that's planted by the waters I shall not be moved. 08:29 I shall not be. I shall not be moved. 08:33 I shall not be. I shall not be moved. 08:37 Just like a tree that's planted by the waters 08:42 "I shall not be moved." 08:55 Welcome to Learning Time. 08:57 Thank you, for joining us today. 08:59 I've got a special helper; 09:00 I've got Courtney up here today. 09:02 And we're gonna have some fun. 09:04 We're gonna look at some things. 09:06 I've a special container right here. 09:08 Does anybody, do you know, 09:09 what the name of this container is, 09:10 does anybody know, we call this container. 09:12 What is it? Amazing. 09:14 Well, yeah it's look like a measuring cup. 09:16 Now at home we've cups that we measure things 09:19 and in the laboratory we've cups like this 09:21 and we call them beakers. We measure liquids 09:24 and fluids in there. And, we've a little marks 09:26 right here. These are little graduation marks 09:28 right here. Now, we've a little beak 09:30 and this little beak is how we pour things out. 09:33 Now, inside of my beaker I'm seeing something; 09:37 Courtney what do you see as you look inside 09:40 through my beaker glass. What do you see? 09:42 Bubbles. Oh, yeah I'm seeing 09:44 some little tiny bubbles. Can you see anything 09:47 that's inside of my glass besides bubbles? 09:50 Can you see anything? Yeah. 09:52 Well, let's find out. I'm going to put 09:54 my safety glasses on because something 09:56 just might happen right here. 09:58 And, Courtney I want you to reach 09:59 and I want you to grab, but where I don't know. 10:01 Can you grab bubbles, I mean bubbles just 10:04 might not be able to pick bubbles up, 10:05 but what did you grab something 10:07 and see what's in there. Okay, 10:09 we and might have a surprise where here. 10:10 Go ahead and pull your hand out. 10:13 Oh, and I've got a paper towel 10:16 and open your hand, let's take a look. 10:18 Oh, look, look at this. I think. 10:21 Oh, my it looks like ice doesn't it? 10:26 You know, this is an ice at all, 10:27 these are little gel capsules 10:28 in fact we put some chemical. 10:31 Let me show you the chemical. 10:33 I've got some chemical right here. 10:35 These are little tiny crystals 10:37 each one of those crystals I put about a dozen of them 10:42 in the bottom of my beaker Courtney last night 10:45 and they absorbed water, they absorb so much water 10:48 and they look like ice, but they're not ice, 10:50 but when we look through the glass 10:53 we don't see any of those crystals at all, 10:56 what we see is little tiny bubbles instead. 10:59 Now, that's what we call camouflage 11:02 because these little crystals and I put that in water. 11:05 All I see is little tiny bubbles, 11:06 but I don't see the bigger clump of crystal 11:10 isn't that interesting. Now, why don't you go 11:12 and pour those out on my table right here. 11:15 And, we could put some more of those out of my table 11:17 and you know, what happens to these little crystals. 11:19 If we just led them stay like this, 11:21 what do they look like Courtney? 11:24 Ice. It's looks like ice, 11:26 in fact you know, when people do advertising 11:28 for like foods and vegetables 11:31 they will put this out on a tray 11:33 and they can take pictures of it 11:34 and it looks just like ice. Look at that, 11:36 looks like ice crystals doesn't it? 11:38 You know, ice kids, but it doesn't melt, 11:40 it will stay this way for a long time, 11:42 but if we just went away for a long time Courtney 11:45 and we came back in a few days, 11:47 you know, it would be right here 11:49 on top of this piece of paper. 11:54 It would be those little tiny crystals again 11:56 because they loose their water and then 11:58 they go back to the little tiny crystal shape. 12:01 Isn't that interesting? Well, those crystals 12:03 are camouflage, we can't see them. 12:05 Do you know that God made some animals 12:07 that live in the water, marine animals 12:10 and they absolutely disappear to our eyes? 12:13 Have you ever seen a little fish that was, 12:15 do you, you could kinda see like through it. 12:17 Umm! Umm! Oh, that's great camouflage. 12:19 If you can't see me that is wonderful camouflage. 12:22 When we learn more about science, 12:24 we learn more about our creator God. 12:36 And give me the report Joseph. 12:39 Pharaoh all the store houses are full. 12:42 Each and every city is full. We're doing very well. 12:46 You're sure. Yes, Pharaoh. 12:48 Every city. Yes, I cannot even keep 12:50 count any more; the records are not big enough. 12:53 Excellent, just as your God said Joseph. 12:56 Yes Pharaoh, but remember the second part of the dream. 13:01 Yes, I keep wanting to think only half the dream is true. 13:06 God is always right; it will come true, I'm sorry. 13:08 The God of heaven has blessed just as you said, he would. 13:12 Yes. Praise be to your God 13:14 Joseph, you may go. Thank you, Pharaoh. 13:23 Let the dignitaries enter. Oh, King Pharaoh 13:27 we've come to present these gifts to you 13:31 and to ask you why you've so much food, 13:34 need bunch you've build, but we don't 13:37 have any food in Ireland. The people are starving; 13:41 it's a famine in the land. Umm! Umm! 13:43 And, how come you've got all this food, 13:45 what can we do to get food? 13:47 Famine around the world, but the God of heaven. 13:52 Joseph's God has provided for us 13:55 just as he said he would. 13:58 Well, how did you tell you he do that? 14:00 I will glad to tell you that story. 14:02 Tell us, please. I had a dream, 14:06 I was standing by the Nile seven fat cows 14:11 came up out of the Nile and were eating the reeds 14:15 along the Nile and then seven skinny cows came up 14:19 and ate the seven fat cows 14:22 and the skinny cows remained as skinny as they were. 14:25 What does that tell you? Well, I didn't know, 14:29 I asked all the Wiseman of the kingdom to come 14:31 and tell me the meaning of the dream. 14:33 No one could, but one Israelite, his name Joseph. 14:41 Who is Joseph? One of my servants 14:43 had been in prison with Joseph, a slave 14:46 of Potiphar. I brought him into the court, 14:49 immediately he told me the meaning of the dream. 14:54 How did he know the meaning of a dream? 14:56 On his God, more powerful than any Egyptian God 14:59 we've ever had. More powerful than the Nile. 15:01 More powerful than the crocodiles. 15:03 Everything we ever worshiped the God of Joseph 15:07 is the all powerful God. Joseph told me 15:10 that the seven fat cows represented 15:13 seven plenteous years where the crops would 15:16 just grow all over Egypt and that's what we are 15:19 experiencing right now, but unfortunately 15:22 that wasn't the end of the dream 15:24 because after 7 years of plenty, 15:26 7 thin years of drought and that's. 15:31 And that's, we're experiencing? 15:34 Exactly, but we've provided more grain 15:38 than we need that's why Egypt the great Egypt 15:43 is willing to give you some of our grain, 15:47 but remember wherever you go tell your people 15:52 it wasn't the Nile, it wasn't Egypt. 15:55 It was the God of heaven that provided the food. 16:01 The great God that Joseph worshiped. 16:05 I'm talking with him more and more each day 16:07 about his God that might be something very, 16:11 very special about him. What a great answer 16:16 do I need, this God has provided 16:19 all this food, for all of us. 16:21 Joseph says, throughout his life 16:24 his God has been with him in every situation. 16:29 Wow! We ought to be worshiping this God. 16:33 Think about it and enjoy the grain, 16:37 you may go. Thank you. 16:49 Adriana, what would you like to be when you grow up? 16:51 A hair cutter and a nurse.
