00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus, it's time 00:11 to share there is a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time. 00:30 Oh, that taste so good, hi, boys and 00:32 girls, oh, there is nothing like a 00:35 delicious glass of water, is it? 00:37 And there is nothing better than a cold 00:39 drink water on a hot day. 00:41 You know how it feels like when you 00:42 are playing, maybe playing ball and 00:44 running so hard you get all hard and 00:46 you are sweaty. Well, after while you 00:48 just can't take it anymore. You have got 00:50 to have a drink of water, so you run for 00:53 the nearest drinking pond and you slippery 00:55 between breathes and you finally, 00:57 ready to play ball again. 01:00 Well, can you imagine living in a world 01:01 without water? I can't. Why you couldn't, 01:04 you couldn't wash your clothes and 01:05 your dishes and your sheets would get 01:07 all grimy and yucky and your hands 01:09 would stay sticky after eating that plum 01:12 or peach, but wait a minute, there wouldn't 01:14 be a plum or peach. They are made mostly 01:17 of water. And boy would you get 01:19 thirsty because there wouldn't be any 01:21 juice because that has mostly water in it 01:24 and by the way, did you know that you 01:27 are made mostly of water too. Well, 01:30 some people used to think that water heal 01:32 diseases and it's true that water is useful 01:34 for washing away the germs that cause 01:36 disease but by itself water doesn't cure 01:39 cancer or diabetes or arthritis, 01:43 nevertheless long ago there was a 01:46 famous pool of water that sometimes 01:48 it was start to gurgle and bubble up and 01:51 many people thought that they could just 01:53 jump into that water while it was moving 01:55 they would be healed of all their diseases 01:57 and one man sat by that pool of water 02:00 for years and years and years and he 02:03 was just ready waiting to leap into 02:05 that water when the water moved. 02:07 But where does healing really come from. 02:10 We're gonna find out today's Bible 02:12 story but first let's visit Ranger Jim. 02:22 Hi, boys and girls, welcome to Nature Time. 02:24 We are glad that you can join us today. 02:25 We are at Knoxville, Tennessee at the 02:26 zoo and we are seeing some wonderful things 02:29 and we have a friend here today, 02:31 Tammy and Tammy what are these 02:33 beautiful birds we are seeing? 02:34 These are Red-Legged Seriema. 02:36 They are from South America. 02:37 They live in Grasslands and you notice 02:40 that they have really nice long legs 02:42 and this is perfectly suitable where 02:43 they live. They actually are predators 02:45 in the wild. They walk through the grasses 02:48 and they can see things from far away 02:49 and it enables them to catch things and 02:52 they have a really interesting method for 02:54 catching and killing their prey, once they 02:56 catch it, they take it somewhere and they 02:58 will do body slams on it which I think 03:00 it's really cool. But what it does it kills 03:03 the prey and it breaks them up because 03:04 birds have no teeth like mammals 03:06 do and they have to swallow things 03:08 whole so it makes it easier 03:09 for them to eat their food. 03:11 So when they catch them like that then 03:13 they just whack it on the ground. Yeah, 03:14 they whack it, whack it, and whack it, 03:16 actually many, many times. And so that 03:18 softens it up, so they can eat it, yes, and 03:20 so their long legs gives him a good view, 03:22 ahead of them, small mammals if 03:23 they would catch mice or voles. 03:24 And they also would kill reptiles, snakes, 03:27 lizards and other birds unfortunately but. 03:30 Yummy, yummy snakes. Yes, yes and 03:32 they actually kills snakes here too, so. 03:35 Anything that it would get in their cage 03:36 by chance would getting in there would 03:38 be in trouble. Correct, if anything they goes 03:40 into their and closer usually does not 03:42 come out. They eat chipmunks, birds, 03:43 snakes, lizards, salamanders whatever 03:46 they can catch. They look like 03:48 very docile bird and doing that. 03:50 Yeah, they are very good nature with us. 03:52 We are able to walk to them, and 03:54 hand feed them, we can actually pick 03:55 them up and put them in crates, when 03:57 we need to move them or away them. 03:58 So they are very good nature birds. 04:00 They just don't anything in their 04:02 enclosure because they are predators 04:03 and they just want to eat it. 04:05 Well I notice a moment ago because 04:08 of the loud traffic that we hear behind 04:10 us on the free way these birds began 04:12 to really call they have a very piercing 04:14 call. Yeah, they have, I think it's 04:16 really nigh call. What they are doing 04:19 is a responding to the traffic noise but 04:21 they also if they hear sirens, 04:22 we have a fire station nearby and they 04:26 actually, it's a kind of an alarm call 04:27 and where they live they are actually 04:29 used by the farmers as sort of an alarm 04:31 clock system. And when predators come 04:33 around at night and try to get into the 04:36 chickens boxes, whatever, they will 04:38 make the same call and it can be 04:39 heard over a mile away. So it 04:41 pretty much wakes up the entire farm. 04:42 A mile, wake up everybody in town. Yes, 04:44 wakes up everybody. They live out 04:46 and usually the farmers are out in the 04:47 country, so there aren't a lot of people 04:48 around, but they wake up everybody in the 04:50 farm. Now are these creatures are 04:52 going to reproduce in captivity here? 04:54 We are really hoping so this is a 04:56 breeding pair. We've just got the female 04:58 last year and we've recently introduced 05:00 it in this winter and we've seen them 05:01 both clucked in sits, which is a nesting 05:04 behavior. So we are really hoping that 05:05 they are going to have babies, yes. 05:07 Have good sign. Now are they quite 05:09 long live creatures or do they live short? 05:11 Yes, they can, they can live like 30 years 05:12 in the wild and they live a lot longer 05:15 in zoos. If you've noticed our female 05:17 has a little bit of a limp and it's because 05:19 she is an older bird and she is on 05:21 medication. Okay, you have good veterinarian 05:23 care. Yes, we do. And what 05:25 have you like this? Yes. 05:26 Now in their native land, are they a source 05:27 of food for people? Yes, they are 05:29 people who will farm them just like 05:30 they do chickens here. They would do that 05:32 and so here at the zoo with good 05:35 veterinary care. These birds 05:36 could live 30, 40 years or so. 05:38 Yes, we have a male who is at least 05:40 30 that we know. At least 30 years. 05:42 Yes. Well, that's wonderful and we 05:44 are glad to learn about that today, 05:45 boys and girls, so Ranger Jim as always 05:48 telling you, our wonderful heavenly 05:49 father made it and He did it right the 05:51 first time. Ashes! 08:41 We've got ashes, that's interesting, isn't it? 08:43 You know that reminds me of something special. 08:45 Do you know that sometimes you and 08:48 I might sin, you know, have you ever sin, 08:50 you know, the Bible says that all people 08:53 have sinned and come short of the glory 08:55 of God. But you know when we've sin 08:57 we can ask God for forgiveness. 08:59 I've asked God to forgive me for as 09:01 my sins, have you? Oh, that's a good 09:04 thing to do. And you know, what the 09:05 devil does. The devil comes into our 09:07 mind and he says, it's just like this paper. 09:10 Do you think that, that paper is gone 09:12 when we burned it up, no, it's not gone, 09:14 we have ashes, and Satan says look 09:16 at that your sins are forgiven. 09:18 They are all messy and they are all look 09:20 it's not forgiven. Satan puts doubt in 09:22 our mind. Now does God really forgive 09:25 us of our sins? What do you think? 09:27 Yes. Well, I think so too. Let's look at 09:30 how it really works. Now I've got 09:33 another piece of paper right here, 09:34 and I'm gonna get my match ready, 09:36 let's burn this piece of paper. 09:38 Let's find out what happens? 09:40 When God forgives our sins, he absolutely 09:45 erases it. He gets rid off it and let's 09:48 find out. Are you ready? How about 09:50 3, 2, 1. 3, 2, 1. And light this 09:54 on fire, and let's see what happen? 09:56 Where is the paper? Look the paper 10:00 is gone, and when you and I confess 10:02 our sins God forgives us. He forgive them. 10:06 Then he puts them in the depths 10:08 of the bottom of the sea you can't 10:09 get their anymore. He takes them and 10:10 puts some as far as the east is from the west, 10:13 you can't even get there. Aren't 10:15 you happy that happens? Yes. 10:18 Well, I tell you what, next time when 10:20 Satan puts doubt in your mind that 10:22 your sins are not forgiven I want you to 10:25 remember that last piece of paper. 10:27 Our sins are absolutely forgiven. 10:29 They are forgotten and God is true 10:32 to his promise, isn't that great? Yeah. 10:35 Oh, yeah. Remember when we learn 10:38 about science we learn more 10:40 about our creator God. 10:58 Good. Oh do you like that. Yes. 11:02 Which one, should we get this one? 11:04 You want to put it in the basket. Oh hah. 11:08 Robin, Robin, Robin, Robin, you won't 11:11 believe what happened? He can't even move 12:00 anymore and as he would looked 12:02 I saw he looked sad and all of a 12:05 sudden I saw Jesus come in and he 12:09 looked at all those people and sadness 12:12 was in his eyes, and he looked over 12:15 your friend laying by the pool but not 12:18 even able to move, and he went 12:21 over to him and he said, rise 12:25 take up your bed and walk. 12:27 He did? Yes. To Jacob? Yes. 12:32 He was worst one right here? I know it 12:35 and Jacob looked at him and I saw hope 12:39 come into the eyes, your friend, your 12:43 best friend and as he was there, looking 12:46 at Jesus, I saw him get up, he sat up. He sat up. 12:51 Yes, he sat up. Yes, he sat up. 12:53 Yes, he did in 38 years and Jesus 12:56 reached near to him and he took his 12:58 hand and he is like this and Jesus 13:01 helped him up and all of a sudden he 13:04 started saying praise God, praise God, 13:07 and he could move his limbs and everything 13:10 and Jesus said, take up your bed and walk. 13:13 That's so exciting; I wish I have seen that. 13:18 I do, it was wonderful. He rolled up his bed 13:20 and he walked. He walked. He walked. 13:23 Yes, he walked and you know what 13:26 day it was yesterday? It was a Sabbath day. 13:30 Yes, and he took his bed up and he walked. 13:33 On the Sabbath day. Yes, he was 13:36 just healed on the Sabbath Day. 13:37 On the Sabbath! He ran into the temple. 13:40 And you know what? They were excited 13:43 about that all they could see was that 13:45 he had his bed rolled up. So ready to walk. 13:49 I know he can walk and you know what, 13:51 I just, I followed him, I followed him 13:54 to the temple and then Jesus came into 13:56 the temple and he recognized that was 13:59 who would heal to him and he came up to 14:00 Jesus and he just fell at his feet and he 14:03 just thanked him and Jesus raised him up 14:06 and he said, don't sin anymore, he said, 14:09 this is the worst thing happened to you, 14:11 and then he just smiled and Jesus gave 14:14 him a big hug and he just went saying 14:16 praise God, praise God, and he went 14:19 running out of the temple. Look, I am 14:21 sorry but I have to go. I have to tell 14:23 my family about this, but 14:24 I knew you wanted it first. 14:25 Oh, I am gonna tell everyone. 14:28 I know tell everybody. I've got to 14:29 tell the rest of my family. 14:30 Jesus, Jesus, Jesus healed him. 14:35 He walked. Did you hear that? 14:37 He walked. Did you hear that? 14:40 Well, you get hurting leg. 14:42 Why don't you go and see Jesus, 14:44 if he can make people walk. 17:45 Hi, boys and girls, it's time for 17:46 Miss Brenda Book of the Day. 17:48 And I want to tell you this is a 17:50 wonderful book, it called "Grandpa's 17:52 furry and feathered Friends." 17:53 It's by Jan Doward, and this is such 17:56 a fun book you aren't gonna believe 17:58 this boys and girls it says, Have you 18:00 ever wished you could have a wild 18:01 bird swoop down from the sky and 18:03 eat right out of your hand or come 18:06 when you call? Or what if you could 18:07 get a furry little chipmunk to 18:09 scamper right up to you so you 18:10 could fill his chubby cheeks with seeds? 18:12 This kind of fun happens all the time 18:15 at Grandpa's place! You're gonna love 18:17 meeting Chipper, Woody Baby, 18:19 Stubby Tail and all the cute and 18:21 free friends at Grandpa's place! 18:23 And I am telling you, won't you like to 18:24 know how he gets these animals to 18:26 do that, I would. So you want to be 18:28 sharing, get that book "Grandpa's 18:29 furry and feathered Friends" 18:31 Well, right now I would like to share 18:33 some letters with you boys and girls. 18:35 I have one here from Harpers Ferry 18:37 from West Virginia and let's see who 18:40 is writing to me today, oh, 18:41 and I've got a picture for you, 18:42 and hold that picture of beautiful 18:46 little girl. She got kind of a pretty 18:49 black top on and a pink skirt says, 18:51 dear Miss Brenda, my name is Kendra, 18:53 I am 8-years-old. I am in the second grade. 18:56 It says, I bring my friends to church 18:58 and I read devotional to my little 19:00 brother Jacob. I have two brothers. 19:02 One is two-years-old and one is 19:04 10-weeks-old. Well, that's just 19:06 little one, isn't it? It said, I love them 19:08 as much as I love Jesus. I would like to 19:11 sign up for Kids Club, your friend Kiedra. 19:15 Well, isn't she adorable? And then 19:20 I have one here from Christina and 19:22 she is from Loma Linda, California. 19:24 Let's see what Christina has to say, 19:26 way out there in Loma Linda. Oh, 19:30 we have another picture. Oh, 19:32 she has got a beautiful red rose 19:35 in her hair, isn't that pretty, 19:36 boys and girls? It says, dear 19:37 Miss Brenda. I share Jesus at school. 19:40 There are lot of kids in my class that 19:41 don't know the truth about Jesus. 19:43 So I try my best by telling them that 19:46 Jesus is coming soon, but they don't 19:48 really believe me, but I still try to 19:50 tell them. It says, dear 21:40 Miss Brenda greetings in the name 21:42 of Jesus I have asked my mom to 21:44 write for me I think God for all the good 21:46 work you do at 3ABN, I also thank God for 21:49 3ABN. It has been a very good programs 21:52 and I pray that God may bless 21:54 you and provide your needs. 21:55 I ask that you register me for the kids 21:59 club I would be very happy to receive 22:01 the Bible study lessons and the activity 22:05 book I like Ranger Jim very much. 22:07 I have included pictures. Alright, we have one here 22:42 from Saint Lucia in the West Indies 22:44 and see what this letter says 22:46 oh I've got another picture and this one 22:49 is from really cute little boy. 22:51 Let's see who is this is from, it says, 22:54 dear Miss Brenda greetings 22:55 to you and your friends and 22:57 family in the name of Jesus, the soon 23:00 coming son of God. I am a constant 23:02 listener of kid's time and I love it 23:06 very much. It brings me close to God 23:08 and I want to join Kids Club, please 23:10 and learn about Jesus, to do the 23:11 Bible studies. I love Jesus with all 23:13 my heart and my neighbors. 23:15 I was shared Jesus with them too, 23:18 and all the children in the world. 23:19 It says, yours in Christ, Ezra, 23:21 and it said, I sent you my picture. Yes, 23:24 you did Ezra and you know, 23:26 I am so happy to hear that you love Jesus 23:28 with all your heart and I want you 23:29 to keep sharing with others, will you? Okay, 23:35 let's see we have one here from Kenya. 23:37 Let see who is writing us from Kenya. 23:40 It says, dear Miss Brenda, my name 23:42 is Cynthia and I am 9-years-old. 23:46 I have two sisters. One big sister 23:48 and one small sister, their names are 23:51 Lauren and Jean. I preach to others 23:53 on the Bible so they can understand. 23:57 Please would you tell buddy and Katie 24:01 that I love their part very much on TV, 24:04 I like story time very much too, 24:06 and I would like to join Kids Club. 24:08 I really love Kids Time, yours faithfully, 24:12 Cynthia. He is learning to write 24:38 by making markings on a paper 24:40 and he is also learning to play the piano. 24:42 Well, that's pretty young for that age, 24:44 isn't it? It says, I started to play 24:46 the piano when Romano was just 24:48 last year. Romano has been watching me. 24:50 Now he sits on his chair and plays, claps 24:53 with his two hands when I play. 24:54 Romano was also learning to talk and 24:56 sometimes we preach prayers of Jesus. 24:58 Please pray for him that he will grow 25:01 up to love Jesus.
