00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:06 Looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:19 Kids time, kids time, kids time, kids time. 00:26 Hi, boys and girls. I am glad that you 00:28 join me today. I have something special, 00:31 I want to show you. And that is some two pictures 00:34 of my beautiful daughters. Now this is when 00:37 they were just a baby. Yeh, this is Becky, 00:40 and she is just a few months old there and Oh! 00:43 What a precious little girl she is. 00:45 And this one is Linda K. and you can see all 00:48 that beautiful black hair she had such a precious 00:50 little baby. She just like to coo 00:52 and laugh and was so cute. You know both of these girls 00:56 are my daughters, but they don't look 00:58 like this anymore. They are grown up. 01:00 In fact, Becky is married and has a little boy 01:04 of her own, my grandson, Michael. 01:06 But you know what Becky will always be 01:08 my little girl. Sometimes my daughters 01:11 will call me when they are facing 01:13 some challenging situation or they are trying to make 01:15 a hard decision and they will call me up 01:17 and say mom what shall I do about this or Mom 01:21 what do you think about this? Sometimes they just 01:23 call me up for a recipe. Do you know, 01:26 I encourage both of them and I pray with them, 01:28 and then I try to help them sort through all 01:30 their problem and we just take it to Jesus. 01:34 Well, you know, I started praying 01:35 for my daughters even before they were born. 01:37 And you know what I'm sure your parents 01:40 and even your grandmas and grandpas 01:42 have been praying for you since you are born. 01:44 That's just what Christian parents do for their children. 01:46 You don't even have to wait until you are all grown up 01:49 to pray for your children. You can start praying 01:52 for them right now. And you can ask to start 01:55 preparing you to become a wise patient and loving mom 01:59 or dad someday. God loves to answers 02:02 that kind of prayer. Well, today we are going 02:04 to hear a Bible story about a woman 02:06 who prayed for her baby boy even before she knew 02:09 she was going to heaven. She knew that children 02:12 are blessing from the Lord. So, she fell on her knees 02:15 and she beg God to give her a child. 02:18 Well, I am not gonna tell you the story right now. 02:21 Here, you got to gonna stay tune. 02:22 We will find out just a little bit, 02:24 but right now let's see what Ranger Jim has to show us. 02:34 Hi! Boys and Girls. Ranger Jim saying 02:36 Welcome to Nature Time. We are glad you 02:38 can join us today. We're in Gatlinburg, 02:40 Tennessee, the place called 02:41 Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. 02:43 And we are having a wonderful time here today. 02:45 We have our friend Frank with us 02:47 and he is a senior biologist here. 02:49 And Frank, we have a lot of beautiful 02:51 creatures behind us and folks are looking 02:52 into this tank. We were looking 02:55 into a tank a while ago. A fish that had a funny name. 02:58 What was that? That's a cuttlefish. 03:00 A cuttlefish. Could you tell the 03:01 boys and girls something about the cuttlefish? 03:03 I found that very interesting? 03:04 The cuttlefish are fish that like the snuggle 03:07 with each other. That's cuttle. 03:08 This is cuttle with the tin. They call them a cuttlefish 03:12 because they have a cuttlebone. 03:13 You may be familiar with the cuttlebone 03:16 as something that you put into your bird cage 03:19 for the bird to chew and sharpen as big. 03:21 That comes from that distance. 03:23 That comes from a marine animal. 03:24 That's actually the internal shell of that animal. 03:28 And what about, now what, 03:31 I notice that they also change colors. 03:34 Is that true? Yeah. The cuttlefish has 03:36 amazing ability to change its color and patterns 03:40 in the blink of an eye. And these animals 03:43 by changing their color are actually communicating 03:47 and talking to one another. Amazing. 03:49 Yeah. Amazing. That's way certain most 03:52 camouflage for protection, but they communicate this way. 03:54 Yeah. They can, they can go down 03:56 and almost like a flounder flatfish, 03:58 where they can lay down on the bottom 04:00 and match the color of the bottom 04:01 and completely blend in, where they can go up 04:04 and they sometimes go up against algae or plants. 04:07 And the mimic, even the way they 04:09 hold their arms, you know, 04:11 they have ten arms. Ten arms. 04:13 Yeah. We relate that to the octopus, 04:14 which has eight arms. But the squids 04:16 in the cuttlefish have ten arms. 04:18 And eight of them are all the same size, 04:21 but two of them are called their feeding tentacles 04:24 and they are longer than the other eight arms 04:27 and when they capture prey, they are veracious predators. 04:30 When they capture their preys, 04:32 they shoot thus feeding arms out 04:34 in the blink of an eye and the suctions cup 04:37 on the tips of their tentacles will grab a shrimp 04:40 or crab and pull them right in and if you blink 04:44 you'll miss it. Amen. It's absolutely amazing. 04:47 Amazing. Tell me about this. Do these creatures lay eggs, 04:50 how do they reproduce? Yeah. The cuttlefish, 04:54 squids and octopus for that matter will lay eggs. 04:56 We have had our cuttlefish reproduced 04:59 in the aquarium there. They will lay the eggs 05:02 on the plants and substrate in there. 05:06 And then to camouflage them they take ink. 05:09 And they inject ink out. Oh! I like this, 05:11 when they jet away the ink that they put 05:14 out to camouflage? And that dyes the egg 05:16 black and it protects the developing eggs 05:18 from the sunlight. And they also look like 05:20 little Hershey kisses. All lined up on the plants 05:23 when they lay their eggs. Amazing. 05:27 The octopus and squids along with the cuttlefish 05:30 have the ability to ink as a defense mechanism. 05:34 So if they are being chased by a larger predator 05:37 they can jet a cloud of ink, which will hang thicken 05:41 the water momentarily. The predator will think 05:44 that the ink cloud is the animal itself, 05:47 while they jetting away and escaping. 05:49 As escape artist. Yeah. Amazing animals. 05:54 He puts out like a smoke screen and he goes away 05:55 like that or so. Well, it's wonderful. 05:57 Thank you for explaining us about the cuttlfish. 05:59 I enjoyed that so very much boys and girls. 06:02 It's always such a joy for me to learn new things 06:05 about these creatures that God made. 06:07 So, this is Ranger Jim as always saying, 06:10 boys and girls don't forget to tell Jesus that 06:12 you love him because he really does love you. 06:24 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, 06:28 saith the Lord, which is, and which was, 06:32 and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8. 06:48 A-B-C-D-E-F-G, Jesus died for you 06:53 and me H-I-J-K-L-M-N, Jesus died for sinful men, 07:01 Amen! O-P-Q-R-S-T-U, 07:05 I believe God's word is true, U-V-W, 07:11 God has promised you X-Y-Z, a home eternally. 07:18 A-B-C-D-E-F-G, Jesus died for you and me 07:25 H-I-J-K-L-M-N, Jesus died for sinful men, 07:31 Amen! O-P-Q-R-S-T-U, 07:35 I believe God's word is true, U-V-W, 07:41 God has promised you X-Y-Z, a home eternally. 07:46 X-Y-Z, A home eternally. 08:02 You know, I make all kinds of food. 08:03 I mean Mexican food, Italian food, 08:06 even oriental food. But today I'm gonna 08:09 make you Mediterranean recipe. 08:11 It's called Mediterranean Pasta. 08:13 Let me go and read the ingredients for you. 08:16 4 cups of cooked Penne pasta 1 tablespoon of olive oil 08:21 1/2 of a medium onion chopped 2 cloves of garlic chopped 08:27 5 sun dried tomatoes chopped 1 19oz can of stewed tomatoes 08:35 1 19oz. can of white beans 2 tablespoon of fresh chopped 08:43 basil or parsley 1 tablespoon of dried oregano 08:47 Salt to taste A dash of cayenne pepper 08:51 1 10oz. bag of fresh spinach 1 2.25oz. can of sliced 09:00 black olives And 1 cup of cubed firm tofu. 09:04 Now to save a little bit of time, 09:05 I already have my tofu and my onions 09:08 and my garlic and my sun dried tomatoes 09:11 already cooking in here, they are already cooked 09:14 and I am sauté up, and the onions make sure 09:17 they are clear oh! that mean because 09:20 that's how you know that they are done. 09:21 Now the sun dried tomatoes in case you didn't 09:24 know how they look like, I just wanted to show you. 09:25 They look like, these are sun dried tomatoes. 09:27 And we are just gonna take on some regular 09:31 kitchen scissors and just cut them up 09:32 into the frying pan. And that's, you know, 09:37 make sure that your scissors are nice and clean first. 09:40 Now, I just gonna take our beans, 09:41 the great northern beans. And I have them rinsed 09:45 and drained them, drained and rinse them. 09:47 And our stewed tomatoes. Now I have saved the juice 09:53 for these, just in case our pasta. 09:55 Pasta tends to soaks up, I mean lot of juice 09:58 and so I wanted to save it, save the juice 10:01 of the tomatoes. Just in case our pasta 10:03 gets a little bit dry you can put that over it. 10:07 And our black olives and then our oregano. 10:16 Now you just want a little dash of salt just to taste, 10:20 we are just gonna put a little bit on there. 10:21 And then I add the cayenne pepper now. 10:25 You can put as much as this you want. 10:27 The recipe says it dash. And that's normally 10:30 what you want to put. Unless you like hot food, 10:32 if you don't like hot food, you definitely don't want 10:34 to put too much of this. Just put a little dash 10:36 over the top. And my dad loves it hot so. 10:39 You know, sometimes even if we 10:41 don't like it hot, he will put a lot 10:44 on his own food because he likes 10:45 his food spicy. Just stir it up. 10:48 And now we are gonna add our fresh cooked spinach. 10:53 And this is going to, you know, 10:58 want to let it simmer and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes. 11:02 Stir that up. But since, 11:05 you know, since we don't have time 11:06 we are just gonna pretend that it's done, 11:09 but for you at home, you know, 11:11 one let it simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes. 11:13 Just until it's done. And, I have some 11:16 pasta over here, and I covered it 11:19 with foil just so it stays hard that's why 11:20 it don't take as long in the pan. 11:22 And I do have a trashcan and I'm not throwing 11:24 it on the floor. This pasta is already cooked 11:26 and so make sure whenever you make pasta, 11:29 you salt it. Otherwise it's not gonna 11:32 taste very good and be careful 11:34 when you put in, I'm not gonna put 11:35 all the pasta. It's gonna be too much. 11:37 We will just gonna put some of this. 11:44 So mix it up in here. Now this meal 11:49 has everything and you have got your spinach, 11:52 which is very, very healthy for you. 11:54 And you have got on tomatoes and also it's the things 12:00 and with the tofu. I like to use more of tofu 12:03 for my family does more I knew. 12:04 But you can use any kind of firm tofu 12:08 that you would like. Now you just gonna 12:11 start mix it up like this and serve it just like it is. 12:15 And you could serve it just, so one dish meal 12:18 or you can serve it just like that. 12:20 And it is delicious. And that if you have never 12:23 had Mediterranean food, I love it 12:25 and you are going to love it too. 12:27 So until next time remember to keep cooking 12:30 and eat healthy. 12:32 Hi! How are you today? You are shopping with mama. 12:53 She is now with you. Oh! Hi, Elkanah. 12:55 Good see you. Good to see you again. 12:57 I know it's a while since I've seen you? 12:59 Yeah, and I've got something to tell you. 13:01 Oh! Tell me. Oh! Yes. 13:03 Well you know that I have two wives. 13:06 Yeah. And you know, Peninnah had lots of children. 13:10 Yeah. And then I have Hannah 13:14 and Hannah couldn't have any children. 13:16 And you know, Oh! That's too bad. 13:18 Oh! She was so sad. But I tell you, 13:20 I've got good news. This is a real story. 13:23 Well, tell me about it. Well, you know, 13:26 I loved Hannah more than anything. Yeah. 13:29 And she felt so bad and I use to tell her. 13:31 I say now look, Hannah I love you 13:32 more than a ten children. You just have much. 13:37 Am I not better than ten children to you? 13:41 But you know that didn't go over very well. 13:43 And you know, another thing it's probably 13:46 not the best plan to have two wives. 13:48 I understand. I understand. 13:50 You know, this is what 13:51 everybody does today, but we probably 13:52 would be better of if we didn't have two wives. 13:55 But anyway, you know, Hannah, she used to, 13:58 we used to go travel to Shiloh, 14:01 you know, when it came my time to work 14:03 in the sanctuary, yeah, and you know, 14:05 she would just be so sad because Peninnah 14:10 was always tormenting her, giving her a hard time 14:15 because she had children and Hannah didn't. 14:18 Didn't have any children. And so this made her so sad. 14:21 I remember one day she just left the table. 14:23 We were staying in the guest tent there at Shiloh, 14:27 and she just left the table crying because 14:29 she felt so bad. Oh! Sure, 14:31 she was hurt. Oh! I didn't know 14:32 what to do. But you know, 14:34 you know, what she did. What did she do? 14:37 She went over to the sanctuary, Eli, 14:39 priest Eli was sitting there. Yeah. And so she began 14:42 to talk with, with the Lord. 14:45 Are you sure. She was praying. 14:47 She get her eyes shut and she was praying. 14:49 You know, I looked at her and he is not used to see 14:52 devote people. He thought she was drunk. 14:55 Woh! Yeah, he said lady when are you gonna 14:58 just go home and sleep off, this drunk you had. 15:01 This is terrible. And she said, why? 15:04 Priest Eli, I am not drunk. I am praying. 15:08 She says, I have no children, and I am asking God for help, 15:12 and I am not drunk at all. Oh! And he apologized 15:17 and he saw she wasn't. Oh! Sure. 15:19 And he apologized and he said, young lady, 15:22 may God bless you and give you the prayer 15:25 you are entering for. Wow! That was a good blessing. 15:29 Oh! Yes, and you know, what, you know, 15:31 what Hannah said, What did she say? 15:33 She said I know that God was speaking through Eli. 15:38 And that was an answer to my prayer and she came 15:41 home happy. Where she gone 15:43 to the right source. Yes. Going to God. 15:45 Well, she believes God. Yes, right. 15:47 And she trusted God and she was happy 15:49 from that day forward in a due time she had a baby. 15:52 Woh! What a story. His name is Samuel. Woh! 15:57 And you know she said. What did she said? 15:59 She said look because God was so good to me, 16:02 I'm going to devote thi child to God and his class. 16:07 And so. And so, she kept him home 16:10 for five years until he got to the place, 16:13 where he didn't need anyone to take care of him anymore. 16:16 He can take care of himself. And then she took him 16:19 along with the family when it was the time for me 16:22 to go to the. To Shiloh. To Shiloh. And she devoted 16:28 him and I thought this was a marvelous sacrifice. 16:30 Woh! She prayed for him. Oh! She did it. 16:33 And now she has given him back. 16:34 Yes. That it was amazing thing. Woh! 16:37 And so she took Samuel and Samuel was willing to go 16:41 and serve the Lord there at Shiloh 16:43 for the rest of his life. Woh! 16:45 So she every year, she comes back 16:48 and gives him a new robe because he gets little 16:50 bigger you know. Of course he does. 16:51 But, Woh! What a marvelous thing. 16:53 I am so proud of her and she is so happy 16:55 and I'm happy. Isn't that great. 16:57 That's a great story, Elkanah, I tell you. 17:01 That's nothing into that, I know because God is leading. 17:04 And he is gonna use that boy. Absolutely. 17:07 And it has brought a lot of happiness to me. Woh! 17:11 That's a great story. I just wanted you 17:13 to know that story. I'm glad you came by the day. 17:15 You bet. Good to see you. Good to see you again. 17:18 And God bless you. Right. 17:20 God bless you too, Elkanah. 20:17 Hi! Boys and Girls. Hi, Jackson. 21:16 Hi, Ms. Brenda. How are you doing Jackson? 21:21 Good. Well, I want to tell you, 21:23 I'm so excited to talk to you today. 21:25 Your sister Jessica wrote me a letter. Can you tell me Jackson. 21:37 What do you do to share Jesus? 21:44 Share with others. You share with others. I'll just pray 23:10 and there is this kid in front of me. 23:14 And he started talking to me. And then after 23:18 a little while I said, do you know Jesus. 23:20 And he said, Umm. Who is Jesus? 23:24 And then I told him about Jesus. 23:26 Oh! That's wonderful. And what did he say 23:31 after you told him all about Jesus. 23:33 I certainly forget because it was longtime ago. 23:36 Did you remember to tell him that Jesus loves him. 23:40 Yeah. Well, that's a good thing to do. 23:42 I want you to keep sharing Jesus, won't you? 23:44 Umm, umm, thank you for talking to me. 23:47 Tell Jessica, hello from me, will you? Okay. 23:49 Alright, bye, bye now. Bye. 23:51 Wasn't that nice. Jessica, we missed her. 23:54 She was away at camp, but we got to talk to her 23:56 three brothers she told us about. 23:58 So that's was good. Well, Logan. 23:59 Where do you live? Vestall, Tennessee. 24:04 Vestall, Tennessee. And how old are you? Seven. 24:07 You are seven. Can you tell me what you do 24:09 to share Jesus? I did wash the car, 24:12 clean the house, and I try to do what I'm told. 24:17 Do you know that's really important to do we told. 24:19 Do you know what? It makes Jesus happy 24:21 because even in the Ten Commandments; 24:22 Jesus thought it was so important for us 24:24 to obey our parents that he made it part 24:26 of the Ten Commandments. Didn't he. He said, 24:28 "Honor thy father and thy mother and" 24:30 that means obeying them, doesn't it. 24:32 And that's a wonderful thing to do. 24:35 Well, thank you so much, would you like to stay 24:36 and help me read some letters. 24:37 I've got some lots of mail here. 24:39 Let's see what I've got here.
