Let's tell them that he loves us so. 00:00:12.72\00:00:15.88 Let's tell them that he loves us so. 00:00:15.91\00:00:19.43 Kid's Time, Kid's Time, Kid's Time. 00:00:19.46\00:00:24.51 Hi boys and girls, have you ever been to a family 00:00:24.54\00:00:27.06 reunion with lots and lots of family members 00:00:27.09\00:00:29.61 and may be you haven't seen them in years. 00:00:29.64\00:00:31.49 I just love family reunions, in fact I wish 00:00:31.52\00:00:35.64 I could invite all of you to a Mitchell family 00:00:35.67\00:00:37.52 reunion. We have so much fun and there is 00:00:37.55\00:00:39.73 lots of hugging and kissing going on and you know, 00:00:39.76\00:00:42.33 what else, there is a whole lot of food, because 00:00:42.36\00:00:44.68 we all love to cook. Well, it's so much fun to 00:00:44.71\00:00:47.76 see aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters and 00:00:47.79\00:00:50.01 cousins. I just love family. Well, our Bible 00:00:50.04\00:00:54.36 story today is about a wonderful family reunion 00:00:54.39\00:00:56.81 and the man, who will tell us about it, has 00:00:56.84\00:00:59.11 been separated from his family and friends for 00:00:59.14\00:01:01.47 years, because he had a very terrible disease 00:01:01.50\00:01:04.64 called leprosy. Now, that's gives you all 00:01:04.67\00:01:07.89 those white spots and your skin starts to 00:01:07.92\00:01:10.42 to rot, Oh! It stinks. No one can get 00:01:10.45\00:01:13.81 near, anyone with leprosy, because they 00:01:13.84\00:01:15.59 might catch the disease. But one day Jesus showed 00:01:15.62\00:01:19.53 up and healed him and he was able to go home. 00:01:19.56\00:01:23.07 But, oh! I'm getting ahead of myself, 00:01:23.10\00:01:26.06 you just wait and see. You're gonna love 00:01:26.09\00:01:29.30 hearing this story and boys and girls. 00:01:29.33\00:01:31.14 I know, it will remind you, of the reunion 00:01:31.17\00:01:34.44 to come, when Jesus returns and heals us 00:01:34.47\00:01:37.37 completely of our diseases called sin and 00:01:37.40\00:01:41.03 we can go home to be with Jesus in heaven 00:01:41.06\00:01:43.20 forever. Well, right now, let's join Ranger Jim and 00:01:43.23\00:01:47.29 see what interesting things he has to show us today. 00:01:47.32\00:01:49.69 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim, saying welcome to 00:01:57.26\00:01:59.43 Nature Time. We're glad you can join us today; 00:01:59.46\00:02:01.36 we're in Knoxville, Tennessee at Ijams 00:02:01.39\00:02:04.48 Nature Center and this is a fun place to be, there 00:02:04.51\00:02:07.44 are trees and flowers and all kind of things and my 00:02:07.47\00:02:10.56 friend Ed is here today and he is a 00:02:10.59\00:02:12.30 specialist in these, Ed, what do we have 00:02:12.33\00:02:14.09 here tell us about these. Okay, we're gonna 00:02:14.12\00:02:16.21 talk about some trees today, first our friends 00:02:16.24\00:02:19.70 Jim. This is White Pine, this is a Conifer Tree. 00:02:19.73\00:02:24.12 On the top it's a new growth, the real light 00:02:24.15\00:02:27.49 green and that's called the candles. They 00:02:27.52\00:02:31.50 come out in the spring time and that's the amount 00:02:31.53\00:02:33.71 the tree will grow each year. 00:02:33.74\00:02:36.38 This is all new. Yes, it's brand new 00:02:36.41\00:02:38.04 growth, these are real soft needles, a lot of 00:02:38.07\00:02:41.61 Conifers like your Christmas trees and things, are real 00:02:41.64\00:02:44.57 picky, but these are very soft and there are 00:02:44.60\00:02:47.99 five needles on each little bundle, if you 00:02:48.02\00:02:50.61 pull off a bundle, let's get us a good one here, 00:02:50.64\00:02:55.43 there's five needles on there. That's a good 00:02:55.46\00:02:58.72 way to identify this tree. Now, Ed, you 00:02:58.75\00:03:01.34 used the word, Conifer. Tells the boys and girls 00:03:01.37\00:03:03.54 about what that means. Conifer, it's a tree with 00:03:03.57\00:03:06.97 needles, it produces cones. And it pollinates and produces 00:03:07.00\00:03:12.77 cones and that cones are where the seeds are formed in 00:03:12.80\00:03:15.46 these trees and we have all seen pine cones of some sort. 00:03:15.49\00:03:18.42 Right. Use them for decorations and things 00:03:18.45\00:03:20.81 like that. And, boys and girls 00:03:20.84\00:03:21.81 that's why I said, because boys and girls 00:03:21.82\00:03:22.79 I like to collect those, okay, fine. 00:03:22.80\00:03:24.18 This next tree, it's a sweet gum, it's 00:03:24.21\00:03:27.23 leaves are a little wilted, but it has a very 00:03:27.26\00:03:29.97 distinct five points on the leaf. 00:03:30.00\00:03:33.59 Umm! Umm! It produces little round 00:03:33.62\00:03:35.85 cones on it, they've spiky. Oh! I have seen 00:03:35.88\00:03:40.06 those, those are sharp, you wouldn't want to step 00:03:40.09\00:03:41.98 on them. They are very sharp. 00:03:42.01\00:03:42.98 Ah ha. A lot of people call it 00:03:42.99\00:03:44.52 the Morning star Tree like the old Morning star's 00:03:44.55\00:03:46.71 that the knights used to swing around in 00:03:46.74\00:03:49.74 battle. Now, when I was a boy, 00:03:49.77\00:03:51.88 my grandfather had a gum tree and you can 00:03:51.91\00:03:54.41 make a cut on that and is that the one that 00:03:54.44\00:03:56.17 secretes. Yes, they secrete 00:03:56.20\00:03:58.45 different kind, the sap comes out. 00:03:58.48\00:04:01.21 Comes out. A close relative, 00:04:01.24\00:04:02.78 of this is the black gum and the pioneers used to 00:04:02.81\00:04:06.98 break the end of it and mash the end of it, and 00:04:07.01\00:04:10.40 used it as a toothbrush. Okay, 00:04:10.43\00:04:11.83 very good. We're learning something 00:04:11.86\00:04:13.92 about toothbrush now. Yeah, this is Northern 00:04:13.95\00:04:16.61 Red Oak, it's a common tree, very much used in 00:04:16.64\00:04:20.71 timber for lumber, and if you buy oak things at 00:04:20.74\00:04:26.08 Lowes or Home Depot, you probably find out 00:04:26.11\00:04:28.14 that it's oak and. Wow! And it 00:04:28.17\00:04:30.07 comes from this type of tree. And, you buy some 00:04:30.10\00:04:31.07 beautiful paneling. Yes. They use it for 00:04:31.08\00:04:32.32 paneling. And furniture. Umm! Umm! 00:04:32.35\00:04:34.48 And they produce acorns and acorns are very 00:04:34.51\00:04:37.17 important for wildlife, bears and wild turkeys 00:04:37.20\00:04:40.31 and squirrels will come to these trees in the 00:04:40.34\00:04:43.55 fall and feed from the acorns. Wonderful! 00:04:43.58\00:04:46.18 This is a tree that's, that's common here in 00:04:46.21\00:04:49.42 the south, it's yellow wood and its becoming 00:04:49.45\00:04:53.07 more popular, a tree that you can plan in your 00:04:53.10\00:04:55.76 yard, but its more common to this zone, it 00:04:55.79\00:04:59.26 likes the warmer climate and right now, this is in 00:04:59.29\00:05:01.66 bloom Ranger Jim and we can see the different 00:05:01.69\00:05:03.91 flowers. Beautiful isn't it? It's very beautiful, 00:05:03.94\00:05:06.07 humming birds and bees really like to come 00:05:06.10\00:05:08.54 around these trees. Well, Ed, tell me, 00:05:08.57\00:05:10.73 there is the branch right here, I was wondering, what is 00:05:10.76\00:05:13.23 this stuff called, it's a beautiful plant it isn't 00:05:13.26\00:05:15.37 it. This is. This is black locust. 00:05:15.40\00:05:17.28 Black Locust. You have to be very 00:05:17.31\00:05:19.17 careful, because these small branches and the 00:05:19.20\00:05:21.14 small trees themselves have thorns on them, like the 00:05:21.17\00:05:24.00 rose bush would. For protection. 00:05:24.03\00:05:25.20 Yes, for protection. Okay. 00:05:25.23\00:05:27.35 It has, the beginnings of the flowers, here they get 00:05:27.38\00:05:31.45 white blossomy flowers very similar to this. 00:05:31.48\00:05:34.70 Similar to this. And this is a different 00:05:34.73\00:05:36.49 type of leaf, this is pinnately compound 00:05:36.52\00:05:39.59 You can see, it looks very much like a tropical 00:05:39.62\00:05:42.53 plant in the way that the leaves are opposite each 00:05:42.56\00:05:45.47 other. Very interesting! And, that's a common 00:05:45.50\00:05:47.30 characteristic to identify this tree. 00:05:47.33\00:05:49.45 Also the bark is very dark brown and it has 00:05:49.48\00:05:53.54 ropy curves in it, so it looks like somebody wrapped 00:05:53.57\00:05:56.69 rope strands all up and down the tree. 00:05:56.72\00:05:59.63 Wonderful! Wonderful! Good to learn about these 00:05:59.66\00:06:01.37 trees. Ed, thank you so very much and boys 00:06:01.40\00:06:03.36 and girls. This is Ranger Jim, saying as always 00:06:03.39\00:06:05.97 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love 00:06:06.00\00:06:08.42 him, because he really does love you. 00:06:08.45\00:06:11.50 A pioneer missionary to India Mr. E. P. Scott had a 00:06:26.87\00:06:30.00 remarkable experience with this hymn. 00:06:30.03\00:06:32.11 One day he was surrounded by a group of 00:06:32.14\00:06:34.58 tribesmen with spears. Quickly he grabbed his violin 00:06:34.61\00:06:38.66 closed his eyes and began to play and sing all hail 00:06:38.69\00:06:41.45 the power of Jesus name. All Hail the power 00:06:41.48\00:06:45.50 of Jesus Name. Let angels prostrate fall, when he 00:06:45.53\00:06:53.48 got to the verse, every kindred of every 00:06:53.51\00:06:55.45 tribe. He opened his eyes and instead of 00:06:55.48\00:06:57.97 pointing spears, he saw every spear lowered and 00:06:58.00\00:07:00.74 many of the tribesmen moved to tears. 00:07:00.77\00:07:02.19 Mr. Scott spend the rest of his life showing 00:07:02.22\00:07:06.06 God's love to his one time enemies. Yes, boys and 00:07:06.09\00:07:09.55 girls, as Mr. Scott found out in the jungles of 00:07:09.58\00:07:12.08 India and you'll find out anywhere you go, 00:07:12.11\00:07:14.31 there is power in the Name of Jesus. 00:07:14.34\00:07:16.63 All Hail the power of Jesus name, let angel's 00:07:29.73\00:07:34.17 prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal 00:07:34.20\00:07:38.84 diadem, and crown him Lord of all. 00:07:38.87\00:07:45.60 Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him 00:07:45.63\00:07:52.27 Lord of all. Let every kindred, every 00:07:52.30\00:08:00.20 tribe on this terrestrial ball. To Him all majesty 00:08:00.23\00:08:06.57 ascribe, and crown Him Lord of all. 00:08:06.60\00:08:13.27 To Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him 00:08:13.30\00:08:19.77 Lord of all. O that with yonder 00:08:19.80\00:08:27.66 sacred throng. We at His feet may fall. 00:08:27.69\00:08:31.91 We'll join the everlasting song. 00:08:31.94\00:08:36.29 And crown Him Lord of all. We'll join in the 00:08:36.32\00:08:43.00 everlasting song. And crown Him Lord of all. 00:08:43.03\00:08:50.60 Welcome to Learning Time, I'm glad that you're 00:09:01.65\00:09:03.88 with us today and today I've got a special thing 00:09:03.91\00:09:07.06 for us. So, sometimes even 00:11:53.38\00:11:56.66 if you cut something in half, you just might 00:11:56.69\00:11:59.49 end up with one piece. Isn't that interesting? 00:11:59.52\00:12:02.46 I think so, you know there was a 00:12:02.49\00:12:04.92 Mathematician, who lived a long time ago. 00:12:04.95\00:12:06.76 His name was called Mobius and what we did 00:12:06.79\00:12:09.60 was, we cut a Mobius script in half and when 00:12:09.63\00:12:13.17 you that. You're only get one piece, somethings 00:12:13.20\00:12:16.78 are really hard for us to understand, but I 00:12:16.81\00:12:19.10 understand this, I understand that we can 00:12:19.13\00:12:21.40 cut something in half and only get one thing. 00:12:21.43\00:12:23.61 Now, let me ask you a question. Who gave men, 00:12:23.64\00:12:27.47 like Professor Mobius? All of the intelligence 00:12:27.50\00:12:31.09 to figure this out mathematically, who did? 00:12:31.12\00:12:33.99 God. Oh! God did, that's right and he gives us 00:12:34.02\00:12:36.98 intelligence too, to think things out as well. 00:12:37.01\00:12:39.53 Remember, when we learn about science, 00:12:39.56\00:12:42.77 we learn more about our creator God. 00:12:42.80\00:12:46.32 Leprous, Leprous. I'm healed. 00:12:54.50\00:12:59.11 You are. Look I'm healed, I'm all healed, Jesus. 00:12:59.14\00:13:01.17 Jesus. You're, you're different. Have you ever 00:13:01.20\00:13:03.45 heard of Jesus. Yes. Jesus of Nazareth. 00:13:03.48\00:13:05.48 Yes. He healed me. He healed you? 00:13:05.51\00:13:08.17 Yeah, he came and healed me, look at this, look at 00:13:08.20\00:13:09.79 this. What? Had you showed yourself 00:13:09.82\00:13:11.89 to the priest? Well, all my fingers are. 00:13:11.92\00:13:13.55 I did, I just got back from 00:13:13.58\00:13:16.07 there, but haven't gone home yet to wash-up. 00:13:16.10\00:13:17.58 I was so excited I had to come down here, I 00:13:17.61\00:13:19.57 haven't been to town, in so many years. 00:13:19.60\00:13:20.82 Isn't it exciting, he is healed. 00:13:20.85\00:13:21.87 I had, I, my fingers, my toes were all fallen off, 00:13:21.90\00:13:26.83 and then, look at them 1, 2, 3, 4, and all 00:13:26.86\00:13:30.09 of them are there. Have you seen look over there. 00:13:30.12\00:13:31.76 Look at that. My hands. 00:13:31.79\00:13:32.80 Look at that. My nose. 00:13:32.83\00:13:34.39 You have been. My ears. 00:13:34.42\00:13:35.42 Wow! Who did that? Who did that? Jesus, 00:13:35.45\00:13:38.37 Jesus did it. Jesus. 00:13:38.40\00:13:40.15 Yeah, I heard about him, I heard about him and I 00:13:40.18\00:13:42.28 didn't believe him. I thought maybe he is just 00:13:42.31\00:13:43.98 a magician, and traveling around and doing tricks 00:13:44.01\00:13:46.32 and fooling people. But you're healed. 00:13:46.35\00:13:48.54 Well, I started following him around and 00:13:48.57\00:13:50.26 he started touching little children that had crippled 00:13:50.29\00:13:52.82 legs and he will pick him up off the ground and 00:13:52.85\00:13:55.42 they would take their mat and they would just go 00:13:55.45\00:13:56.78 skipping off and he would spit on the ground, he put 00:13:56.81\00:13:59.31 mud in people eyes and even after people seeing 00:13:59.34\00:14:02.06 and people hearing and he put, he raised a guy from 00:14:02.09\00:14:06.23 the dead. Oh! My God. 00:14:06.26\00:14:08.01 Wow! He called into the tomb, and it was a good 00:14:08.04\00:14:11.30 friend of his and he said, come out and 00:14:11.33\00:14:13.86 he just walked out. He was still all wrapped up 00:14:13.89\00:14:16.36 and he walked right out of the tomb, alive as 00:14:16.39\00:14:19.46 you and me. Well, I'm alive now. 00:14:19.49\00:14:21.25 Look at him, look at. What happened. 00:14:21.28\00:14:24.04 I can't believe him. Where? 00:14:24.07\00:14:26.04 I don't know, I just heard all these stories, 00:14:26.07\00:14:27.90 all these stories of him. So, I started, I started 00:14:27.93\00:14:30.24 asking around and I started following around. 00:14:30.27\00:14:31.61 One day up on the mount, I heard this rumbling and 00:14:31.64\00:14:34.03 I was in my cave. I live in a cave with 00:14:34.06\00:14:35.90 all the other lepers and you know, you know. 00:14:35.93\00:14:37.78 And, so I heard this rumbling coming 00:14:37.81\00:14:40.40 down the mountain I came out of my cave and 00:14:40.43\00:14:42.09 it was bright. And all these people were 00:14:42.12\00:14:44.31 coming down the hill, so I thought well man, 00:14:44.34\00:14:45.93 there, somethings got to going on, so I 00:14:45.96\00:14:47.87 went down underneath the bush, around the side and 00:14:47.90\00:14:50.70 there was this guy, they were kind of all moving around 00:14:50.73\00:14:52.60 this guy, a big group of people, a big group of 00:14:52.63\00:14:54.51 people and they were coming down and all of a sudden 00:14:54.54\00:14:56.47 they kept coming towards me and I was behind this 00:14:56.50\00:14:58.19 bush, and there was really no place for me to go. 00:14:58.22\00:14:59.68 Well, when they got closer, they were 00:14:59.71\00:15:01.70 yelling you know, you're a leper, get 00:15:01.73\00:15:03.21 away and you're just like you guys were, just like 00:15:03.24\00:15:05.39 you guys were and he started getting closer 00:15:05.42\00:15:07.18 and I was like, what's going on, people started 00:15:07.21\00:15:09.16 coming around me like this, and I looked up and 00:15:09.19\00:15:11.05 I realized that Jesus. This was the man and he 00:15:11.08\00:15:14.45 was walking right toward me. He walked? 00:15:14.48\00:15:16.66 He was walking right towards me. Well, you 00:15:16.69\00:15:19.25 know, how long it's been since somebody walked toward 00:15:19.28\00:15:20.71 me, that didn't have fingers. Yeah. 00:15:20.74\00:15:22.29 Or the dead fingers, there you go, 00:15:22.32\00:15:24.16 anyway and he walked right up to me and 00:15:24.19\00:15:26.83 when he got as close as you are to me. I kneeled 00:15:26.86\00:15:28.88 down at his feet and I said, if you're willing, 00:15:28.91\00:15:31.86 you can make me clean, you can heal me, 00:15:31.89\00:15:34.01 because I believe all the people around him 00:15:34.04\00:15:36.40 and I believed him. What did he say? 00:15:36.43\00:15:38.71 Well, he reached out and he touched me. 00:15:38.74\00:15:41.64 He touched you like that. He touched me. 00:15:41.67\00:15:43.75 How many people you know, touch a leper 00:15:43.78\00:15:46.03 and he reached straight down and touched me 00:15:46.06\00:15:47.87 on the shoulder and he said, he said I am 00:15:47.90\00:15:50.22 willing. He said, he was willing. 00:15:50.25\00:15:52.12 Willing. And, he just as soon as he said that 00:15:52.15\00:15:56.22 I stood straight up. I stood straight up and 00:15:56.25\00:16:00.17 ran into. Well, he told me, he told me not to 00:16:00.20\00:16:02.33 tell anybody until after I've got to the 00:16:02.36\00:16:04.36 priest you know, and so I came running to town 00:16:04.39\00:16:05.67 right after I got, got to the priest and 00:16:05.70\00:16:08.12 then, well I haven't gone home to wash-up yet, 00:16:08.15\00:16:09.94 but it was more though, it was, I can't even 00:16:09.97\00:16:14.44 describe it, it's not, it's more then my hands. 00:16:14.47\00:16:16.30 It was like he was looking at me like he 00:16:16.33\00:16:18.79 actually loved me. Not, like Oh! Here's 00:16:18.82\00:16:20.85 an ugly little guy and I could just give him 00:16:20.88\00:16:22.62 fingers, like he actually cares about me. 00:16:22.65\00:16:25.51 Well, I've heard, I've heard that he is 00:16:25.54\00:16:27.76 preaching up on the mountain, outside the, outside of 00:16:27.79\00:16:30.28 town. Really? You want to go. Let's all 00:16:30.31\00:16:32.67 go, let's all go. Let's go. Let's go 00:16:33.97\00:16:35.98 Hi boys and girls. That's wonderful you know, if Jesus is the 00:23:32.20\00:23:36.11 answer to all our problems isn't he, so anytime 00:23:36.14\00:23:39.34 you've something that is bothering you, you need 00:23:39.37\00:23:41.96 to go to Jesus, if you've a friend that's in trouble. 00:23:41.99\00:23:43.83 You need to go to the Jesus and you know, 00:23:43.86\00:23:45.60 what, shall we just go to Jesus when we're in 00:23:45.63\00:23:47.32 trouble? So, that's a 00:24:12.55\00:24:15.06 wonderful thing that you're willing to pray 00:24:15.09\00:24:16.70 with your friends and pray for them too isn't 00:24:16.73\00:24:18.53 it.
