00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:06 Looking for a friend like Jesus. It's time to
00:11 share there's a world out there; let's tell them that
00:14 He loves us so. Let's tell them that He loves us
00:19 so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hi, boys and girls. Can you remember the
00:26 names of the two great leaders, who led the
00:28 Israelites to the promise land? That's right,
00:31 Moses and Joshua. Now, well Joshua had
00:34 and his elders who are alive. The Israelites
00:37 kept serving the Lord. They still remember the
00:40 amazing things that God had done for them,
00:42 but when their memories dimmed.
00:45 They again turned away from the Lord. This
00:48 happened many times, but did God abandoned
00:50 them? No. He continued to appoint
00:53 special leaders called judges to help them
00:55 stand against their enemies and also to
00:57 help solve their problems and other
00:59 disagreements. Once, when the Israelites had
01:02 turned away from the Lord. God punished
01:04 them by sending them into captivity for 20
01:06 years. And they were under the rule of a just a
01:10 terrible Canaanite King. They were miserable
01:13 and you know what they cried out to the
01:14 Lord for help. Well, during that time Israel's
01:18 judge with a woman name Debra, who is
01:20 also a prophetess. And she sat everyday under
01:23 a palm tree while the Israelites came to her
01:26 with all their disagreements, but one
01:28 day God told Debra it was time for the
01:30 Israelites to be delivered from the
01:32 Canaanites. And what a wonderful deliverance
01:35 they had. Judge Debra will tell us the whole
01:39 story in just a little while, but first let's visit
01:43 with Ranger Jim and see what
01:44 he has to share with us today.
01:53 Hi, boys and girls. Ranger Jim saying,
01:55 welcome to Nature Time. We're glad you
01:57 can join us today. We're visiting with my friend,
01:59 Sharalin and she has a hobby collection of
02:01 animals. And finally I have found someone,
02:04 who loves animals as much as Ranger Jim.
02:06 This lady truly loves animals. And Sharalin,
02:10 what is this beautiful creature that we have
02:11 here. Tell us something about this.
02:12 This is a Siberian Lynx. She is about four years
02:17 old now. I got her when she was umm about
02:20 three weeks old. So, she was only about this big
02:23 when we first got her and I was her mother
02:26 from the beginning. I had to feed a bottle
02:30 about every four hours just like you
02:32 kids have to have a bottle.
02:33 You, you got up in the middle of night.
02:34 I had too, but Nickina that's her name. She
02:39 doesn't know any other mother except me. And
02:42 what I like to do when I get these kind of
02:44 animals, you get them when they're little baby
02:46 and then they rely on you as their parent figure.
02:50 So, they just barn to you as a parent.
02:52 Right, but when I got her, her claws were
02:55 extremely sharp and so every time I bottle feed
02:58 her she just scratch my arms, yeah, I ended up
03:00 having to put two shirts on because she would
03:03 totally rip up my arms and she was trying to be
03:06 mean, but that just have. That was reactive
03:07 when she would feed. They have such sharp
03:09 claws, so now Nickina has her claws removed
03:13 in the front just though that she doesn't hurt
03:15 me. Even though, she doesn't mean too, but
03:17 they just have really sharp claws that's how
03:19 they hunt and get their food.
03:20 That's okay. Now, now tell me looking at her
03:22 and see all these beautiful tuffs in her
03:24 ears and the point that this characteristic of
03:28 these animals. The characteristic that
03:30 so special about the Siberian Lynx if you
03:33 look on the back of her ears they have little
03:36 white spots it almost looks like they have
03:38 another set of eyes and what those ears do, is
03:42 they confuses there pray or the food that they are
03:46 chasing after and they think that cat has eyes
03:48 in the back of their head. And they don't
03:50 know, what's way to run.
03:51 Oh! Wonderful. Now, I notice the feet are very
03:54 large and they have fur in between.
03:56 She is, she is from Siberia and so it's
04:00 snowy there. And they have to use their feet to
04:03 walk on lots of snow. So that like a snow
04:05 shoe. Right and so they have big fat feet and
04:09 they also have another thing that's a safety
04:11 feature for them they have little hair tufts
04:14 around their mouth. And they stick out and
04:17 what that does is when they're growing in after
04:19 an animal into a hole or something, if it ruffles
04:23 out as though hair tufts there it's a signal for
04:26 them, they better not go in, they might get stuck
04:28 in that hole. Get you stuck in there.
04:29 Right. That's amazing, my wife and I, we
04:30 travel a lot. We have a daughter lives in
04:32 Alaska. And a few years ago, we were
04:34 traveling up there and had an opportunity to
04:36 see one in the wild. It was chasing a snowshoe
04:38 hare and that's snowshoe hare was
04:40 running full tail would stop. Of course the
04:42 Lynx would run by miring trying to stop,
04:44 but it, it was the same way running on snow
04:46 just like they had snowshoes. Right, right.
04:49 Just, just amazing. What do you feed it
04:51 now as an adult? Well, she is a very
04:53 picky eater probably more picky then mouse
04:55 Lynx. She is used to meat feed and going
04:57 and getting the meat for her. She eats a lot of
04:59 chicken. She likes turkey, she likes
05:02 squirrel. I try to give her some deer meat the
05:05 other day, but she just turned up her nose and
05:07 said forget it. She didn't like that kind of stuff,
05:09 but something else everybody confuses her
05:12 with a bobcat. They always think it's a
05:14 bobcat. The difference between the Lynx and
05:18 the bobcat is, if you look on the tip of their
05:20 tail the bobcat is white on underneath the tail.
05:24 The Siberian Lynx is totally black. And when
05:28 I was raising her in my kitchen, I also had a
05:31 monkey in the kitchen and they had the best
05:33 time that monkey would chase that black tail all
05:36 around the kitchen. I finally had to move her
05:38 out because she was jumping on my counter
05:40 and destroying all my dishes and food.
05:43 So, it's sound like you have a
05:44 lot of fun in your household.
05:46 Oh! We do, never a dull moment.
05:47 Never a dull moment in your house. So, anyway
05:50 tell me how long would this creature live?
05:53 They live between 17 and 24 years in captivity.
05:58 It's because they get their food from us.
06:00 They don't have to worry about some of the
06:02 diseases and, and things in the wild that they
06:04 would normally. So, wonderful another
06:07 one of God's wonderful creature boys and girls.
06:09 Ranger Jim telling you as always don't forget to tell
06:12 Jesus that you love him because
06:14 he really does love you.
06:24 Behold God is my salvation; I will trust and
06:28 not be afraid. For the Lord Jehovah is my
06:31 strength and my song; and he has become my
06:36 salvation. Therefore with joy you will draw water
06:40 out of the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:2 and 3.
06:48 I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.
06:53 Where? Down in my heart! Where? Down in my heart!
06:57 I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart,
07:02 Where? Down in my heart to stay.
07:06 And I'm so happy. So very happy!
07:11 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.
07:15 And I'm so happy so very happy
07:20 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart!
07:24 I've got the peace that passes understanding,
07:27 Down in my heart, Where? Down in my heart!
07:31 Where? Down in my heart! I've got the peace that
07:34 passes understanding, down in my heart
07:37 Where? Down in my heart to stay.
07:42 And I'm so happy. So very happy!
07:46 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.
07:50 And I'm so happy so very happy
07:55 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart!
07:59 I've got love of Jesus, love of Jesus
08:02 Down in my heart, Where? Down in my heart!
08:06 Where? Down in my heart! I've the got love of Jesus,
08:10 love of Jesus down in my heart,
08:13 Where? Down in my heart to stay.
08:17 And I'm so happy. So very happy!
08:22 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.
08:26 And I'm so happy so very happy
08:31 I've got the love of Jesus in my heart!
08:44 Welcome to Learning Time. I'm glad that you've
08:46 joined us today. Hey, do you like sounds and music.
08:51 Yeah, yeah, I got two helpers with me
08:53 today. I have to got Jonathan and Ellison.
08:56 Ellison, what kind of music or what kind of
08:59 instruments do you like the best?
09:00 Drums. Drums, how many of you like the
09:03 sound of drums. Oh! I like the sound the drum.
09:06 That's an exciting instrument, isn't it?
09:09 Well, today we're gonna be looking at sound waves.
09:12 Jonathan, can we see sounds waves in the air.
09:15 No. No, you know, we can see sound waves,
09:18 wouldn't that be interesting, if we could
09:20 see sound waves in the air like we're seeing you and
09:23 I right now. Well and you go man, did you see that
09:25 sound wave, why? It was purple and blue and that
09:28 was this high, oh, man that was really great.
09:31 Well, today, we're gonna make a model of the
09:33 sound wave. So, I'm gonna give Elision,
09:35 one part of this. You know, what this is?
09:38 Slinky. It's a Slinky. Well, we can take our toy
09:41 like a Slinky and they were going to make a
09:44 model of a sound wave. So, I'm gonna hand one
09:46 end to Ellison, one end to Jonathan.
09:48 And they're gonna see if they can make a model of
09:50 a sound wave. Go ahead and let's see if we can
09:52 make a sound wave. Now, this is what we
09:54 think, sound does, it travels in waves.
09:57 And look what happens right here, as it comes up
09:59 in the air we call those a trough, that's I'm sorry.
10:03 As it comes up in air we called it a crest, the
10:05 trough is way down here when it goes low.
10:08 And all of that from one crest to another crest
10:11 happens to be one sound wave, isn't that exciting.
10:16 And, that's what sound does it travels through the
10:18 air and through liquids and solids as a wave.
10:21 Okay, let's go ahead and stop that little wave and
10:24 I have another instrument right here.
10:25 Go and let's put that right over here.
10:27 I happen to have a, what is this?
10:35 It's a fork and so I'm gonna eat it with it, right?
10:37 No. No, if I ate with this, I would be starved;
10:40 I think I rather use chopsticks in this.
10:42 This happens to be a tuning fork.
10:45 And when I hit it, it vibrates.
10:47 See, if you can hear the sound. Here we go.
10:51 Can you hear that? Yes. Now, this vibrates at 500,
10:56 I'm sorry let me read it better here.
10:57 It's Oh! It's only. Oh! Yes, it's 512 times per
11:01 second. Can you count 512 times in one second,
11:04 no, but I wish I could, I would be great math if
11:07 I could do that. Now, I want you to put your
11:09 glasses on because something just might
11:11 happen here. We're going to take this water.
11:14 I'm gonna put it in my little dish and let's see
11:17 what we can find out by putting water in our little
11:19 dish today. We're gonna see if we can see the
11:22 water being vibrated by our tuning fork.
11:25 You wanna put your hand on there and see if you
11:28 can feel it vibrating. Oh! Yeah, it's vibrates.
11:31 Let's try this one Jonathan. Can you feel it vibrating,
11:34 but you know I can't see it vibrating.
11:36 Now, if you get real close here.
11:38 Let's get real close in here.
11:39 I'm gonna vibrate this. I'm gonna put it right
11:42 in the water. We're gonna see if that water will
11:44 vibrate, it might even make some little ways.
11:47 So, like sometimes if you throw a little pebble in a
11:49 lake or a pond and you get those little waves.
11:51 Okay, are we ready? Are you ready Ellison? Yes.
11:55 Well, let's try, here we go. Kept this and watch
11:57 that right there. Wow! Did you see the sound wave?
12:02 Oh! My, and it got us a little. I'm glad we have
12:05 those safety glasses on. That vibration 512 times
12:09 a second made that water vibrate and
12:12 it give you a bath. Oh! She is good.
12:14 Did you get wet little bit? Yes. Hey, I wanna thank
12:16 both Jonathan and Elision. This is great, when we
12:20 learn about science we are learning
12:22 more about our creator God.
12:57 Deborah, the mother of Israel.
12:59 Oh! My brother, hello my brother, hello, hey.
13:04 Hello precious people. Tell us a story of your
13:07 victory that we just heard about that.
13:09 Oh! Let me tell you, what the Lord has done.
13:13 Our great God, I was sitting under the palm
13:16 tree, where I judge for the nation of Israel and the
13:21 voice of the Lord came to me and he said call Barak.
13:25 And you tell Barak to go get
13:28 10,000 men from his tribe. And he said, I will send
13:32 him against the Sisera. And I'll draw Sisera to him.
13:37 We know, he is the general of the great cannons army.
13:42 And so I called Barak. And I said, God has
13:46 promised to give you victory. He is told me to
13:50 send you up. Yeah. And at first Barak was a little
13:54 hesitant about going. No, no, I wasn't really
13:57 hesitant. I just didn't want to go into war without
14:00 Deborah, the prophet of God. Because I knew that
14:04 if I had the prophet of God with me that my
14:07 mission would be successful because she
14:10 hears directly from God. Glory to God, glory to God.
14:13 But aren't you afraid to go with Barak.
14:15 I was not, although I'm a woman my
14:19 faith is great in God. And I knew that the battle
14:23 belong to God and he would give us.
14:25 Praise the Lord, yes, yes, yes. So, I went, but I told
14:29 Barak that the glory would go to a woman and
14:32 it was that a woman's hand that Sisera felt.
14:36 Let me tell you what happened? Barak went up
14:39 and here came, the General Sisera with all of
14:43 his chariots and Barak and his 10,000 men stood
14:46 strong because they knew God was on his side.
14:49 Yes, yes. And he chased them. Yes, yes.
14:52 But, he overtook all of the army, but Sisera he snuck
14:57 way into the tent of a friend of his, but guess
15:01 what the Lord did. What? The wife of the tent
15:04 owner raised up and she slew Sisera.
15:10 So our enemy has been subdued. Praise the Lord.
15:15 Glory to God, glory to God. Praise the Lord.
15:20 Oh! I wish we had more time to sit, but I'm
15:22 supposed to be back at the palm tree.
15:25 I'm supposed to be judging now, but please
15:28 spread the news of how faithful our God is to us.
15:32 He is our great and awesome God, Barak.
15:35 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord.
18:17 Hi, boys and girls now it's time for Ms. Brenda's
18:20 Book of the Day. And my choice today is
18:22 Shoebox Kids Bible Stories by Jerry D. Thomas.
18:26 And this is book six and there are so many
18:29 wonderful stories in here. The Shoebox Kids you
18:32 will be in here like Sammy, Jenny, Willie,
18:34 DeeDee, Chris and Maria and they are having
18:37 adventures of their own that show what the Bible
18:39 means in real life at home, at school, and on
18:43 the playground. As Sammy helps a family
18:45 whose house burns down, DeeDee locks and her
18:48 mom out of their new car, and Chris dives underwater
18:51 to save Yoyo from drowning. Who is Yoyo?
18:54 and what happened? Did they get back into the
18:56 car? You're gonna have to wait till you purchase this
18:59 book and find out for yourself.
19:01 This is a wonderful boys and girls.
19:03 And there is lots of wonderful
19:04 Bible stories in it too. So, I'll highly recommend that.
19:08 Right now, I would like you to meet a very special
19:10 guest, I'll keep put in that book somewhere,
19:12 I just keep it on my lap. I would like you to meet
19:14 a very special guest to mine and this is Joshua.
19:16 And Joshua, you're so special to me.
19:19 I just love you so much and I love how you share
19:21 Jesus on Kids Time by singing.
19:22 You do that all the time and you always have
19:24 something to share with me. So, what did you do?
19:26 Yes, well you know, I love you too.
19:29 Oh! Well, thank you so much. And I got to tell you,
19:31 I love the how much you love Jesus.
19:33 And I know you have so many things to tell me.
19:35 So, what do you have to share today? Well, I have
19:37 a number of things today. I'm going to tell you
19:41 about once in San Diego Zoo, when we were standing
19:45 and lying to get one of those. Right. No, like a
19:50 tram. Oh! Yes, Umm! Umm! Sure. Bucket the,
19:54 to go cross, right, and to go to another part of the
19:58 Zoo, right, and I'm so we were standing on line and
20:02 we were talking to us. Would you can stand
20:04 align a long time. Yeah, we were talking to this
20:06 lady and, and finding out, what her name, was that
20:08 where she was from and you know, we all
20:10 introduced ourselves and then I turn to her and she
20:12 was smoking a cigarette. And I said, you know,
20:15 you really should not be smoking because that's
20:17 really bad for your health. And I said, you're putting
20:20 all this nasty tar in your lungs and hurting, hurting
20:23 yourself and she said, you know, you're right
20:26 Joshua. I should not be smoking. I should just
20:29 crush it up and through it away and, and she did
20:32 and she just threw it away and I said, I'm proud even
20:35 I know Jesus is too and. Oh! And then she said,
20:38 and then she said, thank you.
20:40 Oh! That is wonderful. You know, what it took a
20:43 lot of courage to step up, but that really cigarettes
20:45 killing you don't they? Yeah. So, it's, it's what
20:48 they call a slow death, but it's very, very bad for you.
20:51 So, what else do you have to share?
20:53 Well, one time a boy name Tucker in my,
20:57 in my neighborhood, he moved away in Hawaii, but.
21:00 Right. Tucker that's a angel name, isn't it?
21:02 Yeah. We were playing in my backyard and he was
21:06 telling me, how you go to church on Saturday and
21:07 Sunday and I was telling him that Saturday is
21:10 called holy day and it, it's best of you, It's, it's, it's
21:14 right if you just go on Saturday.
21:17 Because that's God's holy day and I was telling him
21:19 about, what kind of videos you should watch
21:21 on Saturday and what would be appropriate and
21:24 what would be appropriate from all the
21:25 time just watching videos about Jesus on Saturday
21:28 and, and. We wouldn't watch the cartoons and,
21:32 yeah nature videos and especially just watch
21:35 those kind of things all the time, I mean, right,
21:37 cartoon every now and then is gonna hurt, it's not
21:38 gonna hurt you, but. It doesn't bring you closure
21:41 to Jesus. No, does it, right. And we should
21:43 watch things that brings us close to Jesus all
21:45 time, shouldn't we? Yes, I, I need to do that myself.
21:49 That's good and that's good to be honest about that.
21:51 The sometimes, you know, we're not saying
21:53 we're perfect are we? We have a lot of work that
21:55 left that Jesus needs to do. We're not perfect, but I'm
21:58 glad he is coming soon. I'm too. Well, thank you
22:01 so much Joshua for sharing that.
22:02 Boys and girls, I'm always get so inspired
22:05 when I listen to Joshua because every time I see him.
22:07 He has got some wonderful story to tell me
22:09 about how to share Jesus. So, I'm glad he can come
22:11 and share with you too. Joshua you want to stay
22:13 and help me read some letters?
22:15 Of course. Alright, let's see and
22:17 I have got quite a few letters here today.
22:19 And I love your letter boys and girls.
22:21 This one is from San Jacinto, I don't know,
22:26 where is that out. Let's find out, he send
22:28 a picture, can you hold that one up for me please.
22:31 And it says, Dear Ms. Brenda, I do like your
22:35 Kids Time and I share Jesus by helping people
22:38 and telling everyone I meet that Jesus loves them.
22:41 And it says, my name is on the back of my picture.
22:43 So, let's find out, who it is? It says, Oh!
22:46 It's Angela. Well, thank you Angela and what a
22:49 pretty girl you are. And you know, what
22:51 that's a good think to do, it's kind like Joshua.
22:53 Everywhere he goes he tells people about Jesus.
22:56 And this one is from, let see how about this one.
22:59 This is from Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee.
23:03 I never heard that before when I went to Tennessee.
23:05 Okay, here is a picture, Oh! Good, let's see who
23:09 this is? It says, Dear Ms. Brenda, hi, my name is
23:12 Amanda, and I'm 13 years old and I really love
23:15 Kids Time. I want to know more about Jesus.
23:19 Please pick on me because I watch your program.
23:21 Well, I just have to tell you that I'm catholic and
23:24 I go to church and I want to learn about God.
23:27 Well, I have a question for you, if you would
23:28 please say your address on TV for a little bit
23:32 longer. So, I can write it down.
23:34 One more question, would you send me a
23:35 Kids Time activity book and Bible studies.
23:38 Love, Amanda. Well, Amanda I would be
23:40 happy to do that for you. Thank you for sending
