00:03 It's time to share there's a world out
00:06 there, looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:10 it's time to share there's a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls, oh, I wish you could be 00:26 here with me right now. It smells so 00:29 good, oh, this loaf of bread just came out of 00:33 the oven and oh, it just makes my mouth 00:36 water and makes me so hungry, I could eat 00:38 a piece right now. Have you ever walked 00:41 maybe into a house for someone who 00:43 have just been baking bread. 00:45 If you have you will not forget that smell, 00:48 will you? It's indescribable and you 00:50 know what you might just like to take a 00:53 thick slice of that bread and smother 00:55 some nice homemade jam on it, that's 00:57 delicious, isn't it? Well, you know what 00:59 I think it's especially fun together in the 01:01 kitchen and tell stories when you're 01:03 with your family, your friends, while 01:04 you're waiting for that bread to come out of 01:06 the oven, in fact I make homemade 01:07 bread every single week, and my family 01:10 loves it. You know I used to love to hear 01:12 stories when my mother was in the 01:14 kitchen while she was baking bread. 01:16 In fact, my mom had all five of her children 01:19 baking bread when we were just 4, 5, 6 years old. 01:23 You know the Bible tells the story of a 01:24 woman named Sarah and she heard a very 01:27 strange thing one day while she was baking bread. 01:30 Some men had come to visit her husband 01:32 Abraham and so she started preparing a 01:34 meal for them, but while she was baking 01:36 the bread she overheard the men talking and 01:40 what they said sounded so strange 01:43 that it made her laugh and in fact she 01:45 laughed wide out loud. Well, now her husband 01:48 was kind of embarrassed and the men, they 01:50 weren't too pleased either. I'm sure you kind of 01:53 like to know what that man said that made 01:55 Sarah laugh, wouldn't you? Well, you're gonna 01:57 have to wait just a little bit because 02:00 you're gonna hear the whole story from 02:01 Abraham himself, but first let's go see Ranger Jim. 02:12 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:14 welcome to Nature Time. We're glad you can 02:15 join us today we're at Gatlinburg, Tennessee 02:17 at a place called Ripley's Aquarium of 02:19 the Smokies, and we're having a grand 02:22 time here, especially with my friend Frank 02:24 and Frank is a senior biologist here and 02:27 behind us as you can see we have a tank 02:29 full of beautiful creatures. 02:30 Frank, tell us something about 02:31 these beautiful creatures what are 02:33 these large fish that are swimming by now? 02:35 Well, Ranger Jim that's a red drum. 02:38 A red drum. Yeah, they get their 02:40 name 'cause they actually produce 02:41 sound and it's a thumping like a 02:43 drumming sound and they use that to 02:46 communicate with each other. 02:48 A lot of fish produce sounds. 02:51 Many of the fish in here are a type of fish 02:53 called a grunt and they're called a grunt 02:55 because they make a grunting sound. 02:57 Especially when you catch them or capture 02:59 them, they make a grunt. Yeah. 03:00 But they use for communication. 03:01 Yeah. Actually, one of the programs we 03:04 have here at the aquarium is a 03:06 program called Sleep with the Sharks and 03:08 when the children come and they can lay 03:11 their sleeping bags here in the tunnel 03:12 when the aquarium is quiet at night and the 03:15 music is off, you can here these fish 03:19 grunting and drumming right 03:21 through the tunnel. It's really, really something. 03:23 We'll have to come back and bring my 03:24 sleeping bag I'd like to see that, that 03:26 would be tremendous. Now they're called 03:28 red fish in fact, they're not red but they have 03:30 a red sheen to them, is that correct? 03:32 They have a red sheen, they kind of, 03:33 to me it's kind of like a copper color like a 03:36 penny, and they called the penny a red cent 03:38 so it's that type of red color. 03:40 Now tell me what about this green guy 03:42 looks like a Eel you have here. 03:44 How did he get that color, is that an Eel? 03:46 Those are, it's a beautiful animal. 03:48 That's a Green Moray Eel and 03:51 they're not really green. They have that brilliant 03:54 green color because their skin is blue but 03:59 as an Eel they have a thick heavy mucus, 04:01 so Eel is very slimy and that thick mucus 04:04 is a bright yellow color and the blue and 04:07 the yellow make it look green, gives 04:09 them that beautiful color. 04:10 Amazing and what does this creature eat? 04:14 The Moray Eel is a pretty heavy predator, 04:16 it eats other fishes, it eats lobsters. 04:21 They have, their teeth kind of point back and 04:23 are very, very sharp and they can 04:25 swallow food whole. And when they grab it 04:28 there is no escaping them with the teeth and.. 04:29 That's right. Okay. They are serious, 04:32 very good predator. Alright, and so they 04:36 are long, do they hide, I would have assumed 04:39 that they would hide in crevices that are 04:41 easy for them to hide. They are, they are 04:43 hide in cracks and crevices during the 04:45 day and they're nocturnal, they come 04:47 out and they hunt for fish at night and 04:49 they're very affective at finding fish that 04:52 sleep in the cracks and crevices of the 04:54 coral during the day and they can just wind 04:58 their way through very tight 04:59 cracks and crevices. So you want to be 05:01 very careful if you are small fish. 05:03 There are a lot of people looking for you right. 05:05 That's right. Looking for you, 05:06 okay, tell me what about this fish here 05:08 that's so thick, this is quite thick. 05:10 That, that fish is an angel fish. 05:13 Oh, an angel fish. Yeah, they are, the 05:16 angel fish are very beautiful. 05:18 They have, they're like you notice, 05:20 they're very thick bodied and they have 05:22 a very long dorsal and anal fin that probably 05:25 look like angel wings, its probably how they 05:27 got that name. And they feed on algae 05:31 and sponges and they're not a very 05:36 predatory fish. They're a very 05:38 peaceful fish that's omnivores. 05:40 They eat a variety of invertebrates and algaes. 05:45 Alright, there is another fish that's 05:47 going by here that's beautiful. 05:48 Has yellow tail with strips on him. 05:51 What is this guy? That's a Porkfish, 05:53 and a porkfish is also related to the grunts 05:57 and I think they're called porkfish because 05:59 they make a grunting like a pig noise. 06:01 They're another fish that's identified by 06:03 their sound. They are just beautiful, 06:06 so we have learned something about 06:09 many of these fish and there are so many 06:11 fish in this tank. I wish we had more 06:13 time but we don't have more time for now. 06:16 Well, so boys and girls this is Ranger 06:17 Jim saying that we have learned so much 06:20 today about these beautiful fish and 06:22 I hope that you've enjoyed it as much as I have. 06:24 So, Ranger Jim as always saying boys 06:27 and girls don't forget to tell Jesus that you 06:29 love him because he really does love you. 06:40 Hi, boys and girls, here in the studio the 06:43 lights are really bright but when we leave the 06:45 studio sometimes the world can get pretty dark. 06:49 Jesus said, let your light so shine before 06:51 men that all might see and glorify 06:53 the Father. I want to do that. 07:04 Let your light so shine that all 07:09 might see and glorify the Father. 07:12 Let your light so shine that all 07:16 might see and glorify the Lord. 07:20 Matthew 5:16 says how much it means, 07:24 When your light is seen from afar. 07:28 You will be amazed when it's God 07:30 they praise. For the love 07:32 they see in who you are. 07:38 Let your light so shine that all 07:42 might see and glorify the Father. 07:45 Let your light so shine that all 07:50 might see and glorify the Lord. 07:53 There is nothing dark like an empty heart, 07:58 Where God has no part it's true. 08:01 When He fills your life you're a 08:04 lantern bright; They can see 08:06 His Spirit shine in you. 08:11 Let your light so shine that all 08:16 might see and glorify the Father. 08:19 Let your light so shine that all 08:24 might see and glorify the Lord. 08:28 That all might see and glorify the Lord. 08:42 I love Italian food. You know today 08:44 we're making lasagna, and you know when 08:46 you think of lasagna you're probably gonna 08:48 think of Italy. And recently I got 08:50 the chance to go to Italy and I can tell 08:52 you they do have delicious lasagna but 08:55 today I'm here to tell you that Italians are 08:58 not the only ones that can make lasagna. 09:00 I'm gonna share with you a recipe today 09:02 called Mexican lasagna. And you know, 09:05 maybe if you gave you even enough 09:06 chance I might even come up with a 09:08 Chinese lasagna or something. 09:10 But anyway today I'm gonna share with you 09:13 Mexican lasagna so let's go ahead and 09:14 put the recipe upon the screen. 09:17 10 8inch tortillas. 1 1 lb. bag of frozen corn. 09:23 2 15oz. cans black beans drained and rinsed. 09:29 1 14.5oz. cans of diced tomatoes 09:32 with green chilies. 1 15oz. can of tomato sauce. 09:38 1 ½ tsp. of chili powder. 1 tsp. of ground cumin. 09:44 1 tsp. of garlic powder. 09:46 1 tsp. Pure Florida Crystals. 09:50 2 3.8oz. of cans sliced black olives 09:54 1 4.5oz. can of diced green chilies. 09:59 1 cup of tofutti better than sour cream. 10:02 1 tbsp. of corn starch. And 1 12oz. box 10:07 of Mori Nu Firm Tofu. Now lets start today 10:10 with our sauce, our tomato sauce, 10:13 and I'm gonna put just a little thin layer of it 10:17 in the bottom of our pan, 10:20 just a little bit too in the bottom, 10:27 just to cover it, just enough to cover it in 10:29 the bottom. And then we're gonna take our 10:32 tortillas. Now I've chosen to use whole 10:34 wheat tortillas today just because they're a 10:37 little bit more healthy for you. 10:39 I've also cut them into four in the strips 10:42 down four, the tortillas in fours, 10:45 and when I layer the tortillas I'm just gonna 10:48 overlap them like this. It's easier to have 10:51 them in here. Plus I like tortillas so. 10:54 Just layer them, and cover up all 10:56 the space in here. Now when you cut 11:02 these, you can also use even a pair of 11:05 kitchen scissors, just make sure that 11:07 they're, you can just cut them, but just 11:08 make sure your scissors are clean 11:10 before you use them, just cover it and next 11:15 we're gonna add our, mixture of our tofutti 11:19 better than sour cream, just cover it on the top. 11:26 Now you know I did get a chance a few 11:29 years back to get to visit Mexico and they 11:33 have lots of different kinds of foods like 11:36 you think of Mexican food such as like bean 11:38 burritos and tacos, and all that kind of 11:41 thing but they really do have a, a lot of 11:44 authentic different kinds of food. 11:46 This is one type of food that you might see. 11:52 When you get that covered just enough 11:54 over the top. You can put your mixture of, 11:59 now I already took my black beans and 12:01 corn and put them together. 12:04 The black beans, make sure that you 12:06 drain them and rinse them and that way if 12:10 you have juice in there, it's gonna make 12:11 your Lasagna soggy, and the corn you don't 12:15 have to cook either, you can just thought 12:17 thaw it out. Let's use half your mixture, 12:20 you know I went ahead and mixed it up, 12:22 just to save a little bit of time. 12:25 Just use about half, cover it in the bottom. 12:30 And then you're gonna put on your 12:32 black olives. Just sprinkle some of 12:37 those over. If you don't like black 12:38 olives, you don't have to use them, but I love 12:40 black olives. Black olives are one of my 12:43 favorite things. And then you're gonna 12:47 start again with your tortillas or you can 12:51 put, actually you know, you don't have 12:53 to but you can put a little bit of sauce over 12:54 the top and it just makes it good. 12:56 I like the sauce but you don't have to do it. 12:58 Just remember, just continue your layers, 13:00 just as I've done ending with sauce on 13:03 the top and now I have my finished 13:05 product for you, you're going to bake 13:07 this for, lets see, you're gonna bake it 13:11 at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and I've 13:14 finished lasagna, actually to show you, 13:16 that I've already made, 13:20 and I have to use these pothole because 13:21 it's a little bit hot. So when you bring 13:22 it out of the oven make sure you use those. 13:26 Now I have some fresh green parsley here. 13:29 Just go sprinkle it little over the top. 13:31 My mom taught me that it's very 13:32 important to garnish your foods, just a 13:34 little bit to make it look pretty, just like that. 13:40 Looks beautiful and it's delicious to eat, 13:42 well remember until next time to keep 13:44 cooking and eat healthy. 14:11 Abraham, Abraham, come on over, 14:14 I got some nice fresh bread for you. 14:16 Oh, it smells good. Tell me what's been 14:18 happening in your life lately? 14:20 Well, this bread reminds me of a 14:22 situation in my life when I was 14:24 sitting out by my tent. What happened? 14:28 It was a hot afternoon, the two shade trees 14:31 were giving me the best shade they could 14:34 and I looked and I saw three men they 14:37 just seem to appear out of nowhere, yes, 14:42 I quickly invited them to come and sit in the shade. 14:45 Yeah. I quickly got Sarah to start working 14:47 on some bread. I went out and got some 14:52 some meat for them. I washed their feet. 14:57 Everything was going fine until 14:58 they said the next thing. What was that? 15:02 They looked at me and they looked back 15:05 at Sarah in the tent. We're little old you 15:09 know, and they said Sarah is going to have 15:15 a son, not just that she was pregnant but she 15:19 was going to have a boy. What did she do? 15:23 But she's too old to have children. 15:24 As soon as she heard it, I heard her 15:27 laughing, I heard her laughing. 15:30 The three men turned, looked right back at 15:33 her, saw her head rocking as she 15:35 laughed and said, why is she laughing? 15:40 A little uncomfortable. Yeah. I would think so. 15:44 Sarah came out. They said to her, 15:49 why do you laugh when we tell you 15:51 that you're going to have a son. 15:53 Sarah said, I didn't laugh. 15:57 I guess we can all from time to time be 15:59 afraid of the consequences of telling the truth but 16:03 she shouldn't have done that, no, because 16:05 then the man said, God has declared that 16:10 your promised son will come. 16:15 I didn't have a thing to say. 16:18 But how is she going to have a child, so old? 16:20 Well, what I know now is that when God 16:24 says something is gonna happen, God does it. 16:30 It happens, doesn't it? Yes. We had the boy, 16:35 we thought of a very appropriate name, 16:38 laughter, he was named Issac, 16:44 and that boy is growing and growing 16:47 and growing. Listen, keep up the 16:51 good work with the bread. 16:53 I'll talk to you again soon. 16:54 Well, that's a great story. 16:56 We wanna hear about your son Issac some day. 16:59 Take care Jared. We'll see you again. 17:00 Have a good day. 18:57 Hi, boys and girls, I'm here with my friend 18:59 William and he is going to help me 19:01 introduce the book of the day. 19:05 And I am so excited to bring you this book. 19:07 This is "Joseph" family Bible story by 19:10 Ruth Redding Brand. It says, look at this 19:12 beautiful book, it's all about Joseph. 19:14 A good looking boy who had eleven 19:17 brothers, in fact, the book's title is Joseph, 19:20 the family Bible story. This exciting book 19:23 tells how Joseph was spoiled by his father, 19:25 crudely treated by his brothers and 19:27 eventually sold as a slave. 19:29 He ended up in a foreign country where 19:31 he didn't know anyone and he didn't 19:33 even know the language. What do you think 19:35 happened to him? Perhaps you already 19:37 know if you've read the book of Genesis in 19:39 the Bible but this book tells the story in 19:42 such a way that you'll feel you're right with 19:44 Joseph as he slaves for an Egyptian 19:46 master, fights off the fleas in prison and 19:49 stares at the stars at night, lonely for his 19:52 father and missing his own home. 19:54 But this book will also tell you how God 19:56 took care of Joseph and raised him from 19:58 the slave to the highest ruler in Egypt. 20:01 And what about his mean brothers? 20:03 Did Joseph get even with them for selling him 20:05 as a slave or did something happen 20:08 that was even better? You'll want to read 20:10 this book Joseph family Bible story, by 20:14 a good friend of mine Ruth Redding Brand. 20:17 Alright, this looks like a good book, doesn't it? 20:19 Yes, I am sure, it does. It does. Well, I am so 20:21 excited that you've joined me today 20:23 William but you know what I've 20:24 somebody on the phone that loves Jesus 20:26 very much. Would you like to listen 20:27 what she has to say? Yeah. 20:29 Okay, Carmen are you there? 20:31 Hello, Brenda. Hello, Carmen, 20:35 how are you doing? I'm doing very, very good. 20:39 Well, how old are you? I am 8. 20:42 You're 8 years old. Well, let me ask you 20:44 this Carmen. What do you do to share Jesus? 20:48 I tell people about Jesus and 20:52 I sing songs to my neighbor Clark. 20:58 Was that a song about Jesus? 20:59 Yes. It was a Christian song. 21:02 Did she like it? Yes. Oh, that's good. 21:06 Do you love Jesus very much? 21:08 I love him very, very much. 21:10 You do. I am so glad and do you 21:12 pray to Jesus everyday. Yes, I do. 21:15 It's important to pray to Jesus, isn't it? Yep. 21:18 Well, I'm so glad that you joined us today, 21:20 and I want to encourage you to 21:21 keep sharing Jesus, will you? Okay. 21:24 Alright, bye, bye Carmen. Bye. 21:28 Well, that was sweet. You could tell she 21:29 really loves Jesus, doesn't she? Umh! 21:31 And you know what I know you love Jesus. 21:33 you've been on Kids Time many times 21:37 sharing Jesus right here on Kids Time 21:38 and I just appreciate you know what boys 21:40 and girls, you know what I appreciate 21:41 most about William. The most I appreciate 21:44 about him is his love for Jesus and it just 21:47 shines out, I love William's smile. 21:50 And if you've ever seen him on Kids 21:51 Time playing the trumpet you can't 21:53 miss him because he will be playing the 21:55 trumpet and smiling. Have you ever seen 21:56 anybody do that. I had never seen it before 21:58 but I just love to watch him play the 22:01 trumpet and smile at the same time. 22:03 Well, you know what William is still 22:04 smiling today and I love that smile. 22:07 Can you tell me what do you do, maybe 22:09 something you've done recently 'cause 22:10 I know you always do something for Jesus. 22:12 Share something maybe that you'd like 22:14 to tell the boys and girls. 22:15 You could maybe give them an idea 22:17 what to witness. When the Passion 22:19 movie came out I and some others went 22:21 to the theater and we were able to pass out 22:23 this book called The Passion of Love. 22:26 And it says, it's by Ellen, E.G. White 22:28 and the Passion of Love. And it talks more 22:31 about the mental suffering of God and 22:33 how he went through in his mind and it's 22:36 just a really good book and it touched 22:38 the people a lot you know, it's just the way 22:41 they reacted to it. It was really nice. 22:44 Now did you pass any other book out? 22:46 Yes, this is.. The Great Controversy. 22:48 The Great Controversy, it says, and it's a very 22:53 good book also, it's tell us the whole story 22:55 from the beginning to the end and one 22:58 time we had the experience when 23:01 one of the people who we saw there, 23:04 they had a big van and they take 23:06 homeless people to see the movie and 23:08 they also feed them, so it was really a good 23:11 experience because our church then got to 23:13 be able to start feeding the homeless. 23:16 It's really good. Oh, that was really 23:17 good, and did you have any neat 23:19 experiences afterwards where did you find 23:22 out how people like the book, 23:23 did you ever run into anybody that. 23:24 Yeah, in grocery stores and almost 23:26 everywhere and now Wal-Mart's even 23:28 gonna start carrying it in August. 23:30 Oh, they are. And what did people 23:32 about the book? It was even better 23:34 than the movie. Did they tell you that? 23:36 Wow! That was, that's really good, so you 23:39 know they were reading it, right. 23:41 That's a wonderful way to witness. 23:42 Thank you so much you know I want to 23:44 keep encouraging you to keep sharing Jesus 23:46 because that's a powerful ministry, 23:48 isn't it? That's good. Well, boys and girls 23:50 I have some letters here I would like to 23:52 read to you. And this one is jiggling, 23:54 let's see what's in this one, 23:58 and maybe you can count that money for 24:00 me William, there's some money in there. 24:01 I don't know what that's all about. 24:02 Let's read the letter and find out. 24:04 It says dear miss Brenda, my name is 24:06 Ashley and one time I went to the nursing 24:08 home and we sang for people and me and 24:10 my friend we carried a basketful of stuffed 24:13 animals like puppies and bears and we 24:16 passed them out to people and they liked 24:18 them so much. This money I sent 24:20 with this letter is for Kids Time. 24:22 It said, I did have a $100 but I bought 24:26 those people the animals and I had a 24:28 little bit of money left over so I decided to 24:30 sent it to Kids Time. I really like the activity 24:33 book you sent to me before. 24:35 My dog is named Rascal and he was 24:37 killed by a car. I'm so sorry. It says, but 24:40 I tried to keep him home but he wouldn't 24:42 stay home and now because he wouldn't 24:45 stay home he's not here. I love Kids Time 24:48 praise and Kids Time, from Ashley. 24:50 Ashley, I am so sorry to hear about your 24:51 dog but I am really proud of you for what 24:54 you doing for Jesus. You spent there your 24:55 money to buy stuffed animals and how 24:57 much did she have there, William? 24:59 She had $16 and 53 cents. Left over, well thank 25:02 you so much and that's wonderful I say. 25:06 Let me put that in the envelop lets see. 25:10 Actually it was 20, no, not 16 it was 20, 25:12 $26 and 53 cents. See that 20 there. 25:16 There you go. Well, thank you for that 25:18 and we will make sure every penny of 25:19 this goes to Kids Time and we will just 25:22 keep making some more Kids Time 25:23 programs, okay. Let's see this letter is, 25:27 this one from Polson, Montana, and let's see 25:30 I have a picture here. Can you hold that up 25:32 for me, William?
