It smells so 00:00:26.50\00:00:28.80 good, oh, this loaf of bread just came out of 00:00:29.00\00:00:33.59 the oven and oh, it just makes my mouth 00:00:33.62\00:00:36.81 water and makes me so hungry, I could eat 00:00:36.84\00:00:38.70 a piece right now. Have you ever walked 00:00:38.73\00:00:41.32 maybe into a house for someone who 00:00:41.35\00:00:43.37 have just been baking bread. 00:00:43.40\00:00:44.70 If you have you will not forget that smell, 00:00:45.54\00:00:48.33 will you? It's indescribable and you 00:00:48.36\00:00:50.94 know what you might just like to take a 00:00:50.97\00:00:53.11 thick slice of that bread and smother 00:00:53.46\00:00:55.51 some nice homemade jam on it, that's 00:00:55.54\00:00:57.35 delicious, isn't it? Well, you know what 00:00:57.38\00:00:59.85 I think it's especially fun together in the 00:00:59.88\00:01:01.53 kitchen and tell stories when you're 00:01:01.56\00:01:03.07 with your family, your friends, while 00:01:03.25\00:01:04.64 you're waiting for that bread to come out of 00:01:04.67\00:01:06.00 the oven, in fact I make homemade 00:01:06.03\00:01:07.85 bread every single week, and my family 00:01:07.88\00:01:10.50 loves it. You know I used to love to hear 00:01:10.53\00:01:12.74 stories when my mother was in the 00:01:12.77\00:01:14.30 kitchen while she was baking bread. 00:01:14.33\00:01:15.88 In fact, my mom had all five of her children 00:01:16.31\00:01:19.06 baking bread when we were just 4, 5, 6 years old. 00:01:19.28\00:01:22.54 You know the Bible tells the story of a 00:01:23.41\00:01:24.96 woman named Sarah and she heard a very 00:01:24.99\00:01:27.59 strange thing one day while she was baking bread. 00:01:27.62\00:01:29.89 Some men had come to visit her husband 00:01:30.30\00:01:32.29 Abraham and so she started preparing a 00:01:32.32\00:01:34.56 meal for them, but while she was baking 00:01:34.59\00:01:36.71 the bread she overheard the men talking and 00:01:36.74\00:01:40.18 what they said sounded so strange 00:01:40.21\00:01:43.11 that it made her laugh and in fact she 00:01:43.14\00:01:45.33 laughed wide out loud. Well, now her husband 00:01:45.36\00:01:48.63 was kind of embarrassed and the men, they 00:01:48.66\00:01:50.67 weren't too pleased either. I'm sure you kind of 00:01:50.70\00:01:53.50 like to know what that man said that made 00:01:53.53\00:01:55.16 Sarah laugh, wouldn't you? Well, you're gonna 00:01:55.19\00:01:57.29 have to wait just a little bit because 00:01:57.32\00:02:00.04 you're gonna hear the whole story from 00:02:00.07\00:02:01.60 Abraham himself, but first let's go see Ranger Jim. 00:02:01.66\00:02:05.23 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 00:02:12.65\00:02:14.35 welcome to Nature Time. We're glad you can 00:02:14.38\00:02:15.90 join us today we're at Gatlinburg, Tennessee 00:02:15.93\00:02:17.94 at a place called Ripley's Aquarium of 00:02:17.97\00:02:19.83 the Smokies, and we're having a grand 00:02:19.86\00:02:22.31 time here, especially with my friend Frank 00:02:22.34\00:02:24.74 and Frank is a senior biologist here and 00:02:24.77\00:02:27.11 behind us as you can see we have a tank 00:02:27.14\00:02:29.08 full of beautiful creatures. 00:02:29.11\00:02:30.59 Frank, tell us something about 00:02:30.84\00:02:31.91 these beautiful creatures what are 00:02:31.94\00:02:33.24 these large fish that are swimming by now? 00:02:33.27\00:02:35.32 Well, Ranger Jim that's a red drum. 00:02:35.80\00:02:37.85 A red drum. Yeah, they get their 00:02:38.49\00:02:40.27 name 'cause they actually produce 00:02:40.30\00:02:41.72 sound and it's a thumping like a 00:02:41.75\00:02:43.85 drumming sound and they use that to 00:02:43.88\00:02:46.74 communicate with each other. 00:02:46.77\00:02:47.95 A lot of fish produce sounds. 00:02:48.37\00:02:50.06 Many of the fish in here are a type of fish 00:02:51.08\00:02:53.19 called a grunt and they're called a grunt 00:02:53.22\00:02:55.50 because they make a grunting sound. 00:02:55.53\00:02:57.18 Especially when you catch them or capture 00:02:57.39\00:02:59.07 them, they make a grunt. Yeah. 00:02:59.10\00:03:00.17 But they use for communication. 00:03:00.20\00:03:01.43 Yeah. Actually, one of the programs we 00:03:01.46\00:03:04.03 have here at the aquarium is a 00:03:04.06\00:03:06.04 program called Sleep with the Sharks and 00:03:06.07\00:03:08.72 when the children come and they can lay 00:03:08.75\00:03:11.29 their sleeping bags here in the tunnel 00:03:11.32\00:03:12.87 when the aquarium is quiet at night and the 00:03:12.90\00:03:15.62 music is off, you can here these fish 00:03:15.65\00:03:19.13 grunting and drumming right 00:03:19.84\00:03:21.20 through the tunnel. It's really, really something. 00:03:21.23\00:03:23.37 We'll have to come back and bring my 00:03:23.40\00:03:24.65 sleeping bag I'd like to see that, that 00:03:24.68\00:03:26.50 would be tremendous. Now they're called 00:03:26.53\00:03:28.16 red fish in fact, they're not red but they have 00:03:28.19\00:03:30.50 a red sheen to them, is that correct? 00:03:30.53\00:03:32.12 They have a red sheen, they kind of, 00:03:32.47\00:03:33.84 to me it's kind of like a copper color like a 00:03:33.87\00:03:36.04 penny, and they called the penny a red cent 00:03:36.07\00:03:38.81 so it's that type of red color. 00:03:38.84\00:03:40.67 Now tell me what about this green guy 00:03:40.70\00:03:42.88 looks like a Eel you have here. 00:03:42.91\00:03:44.58 How did he get that color, is that an Eel? 00:03:44.61\00:03:46.48 Those are, it's a beautiful animal. 00:03:46.51\00:03:48.20 That's a Green Moray Eel and 00:03:48.23\00:03:50.58 they're not really green. They have that brilliant 00:03:51.60\00:03:54.27 green color because their skin is blue but 00:03:54.30\00:03:58.15 as an Eel they have a thick heavy mucus, 00:03:59.10\00:04:01.59 so Eel is very slimy and that thick mucus 00:04:01.62\00:04:04.21 is a bright yellow color and the blue and 00:04:04.58\00:04:07.15 the yellow make it look green, gives 00:04:07.18\00:04:09.38 them that beautiful color. 00:04:09.41\00:04:10.59 Amazing and what does this creature eat? 00:04:10.95\00:04:13.08 The Moray Eel is a pretty heavy predator, 00:04:14.20\00:04:16.79 it eats other fishes, it eats lobsters. 00:04:16.82\00:04:19.77 They have, their teeth kind of point back and 00:04:21.60\00:04:23.88 are very, very sharp and they can 00:04:23.91\00:04:25.71 swallow food whole. And when they grab it 00:04:25.74\00:04:28.12 there is no escaping them with the teeth and.. 00:04:28.15\00:04:29.87 That's right. Okay. They are serious, 00:04:29.90\00:04:32.84 very good predator. Alright, and so they 00:04:32.87\00:04:36.83 are long, do they hide, I would have assumed 00:04:36.86\00:04:39.09 that they would hide in crevices that are 00:04:39.12\00:04:40.81 easy for them to hide. They are, they are 00:04:41.13\00:04:43.27 hide in cracks and crevices during the 00:04:43.30\00:04:45.03 day and they're nocturnal, they come 00:04:45.06\00:04:47.30 out and they hunt for fish at night and 00:04:47.33\00:04:49.65 they're very affective at finding fish that 00:04:49.68\00:04:52.20 sleep in the cracks and crevices of the 00:04:52.23\00:04:54.15 coral during the day and they can just wind 00:04:54.18\00:04:58.32 their way through very tight 00:04:58.35\00:04:59.64 cracks and crevices. So you want to be 00:04:59.67\00:05:01.46 very careful if you are small fish. 00:05:01.49\00:05:03.18 There are a lot of people looking for you right. 00:05:03.21\00:05:05.00 That's right. Looking for you, 00:05:05.03\00:05:06.35 okay, tell me what about this fish here 00:05:06.65\00:05:08.45 that's so thick, this is quite thick. 00:05:08.48\00:05:10.56 That, that fish is an angel fish. 00:05:10.59\00:05:13.24 Oh, an angel fish. Yeah, they are, the 00:05:13.27\00:05:16.17 angel fish are very beautiful. 00:05:16.20\00:05:18.21 They have, they're like you notice, 00:05:18.24\00:05:20.30 they're very thick bodied and they have 00:05:20.45\00:05:22.36 a very long dorsal and anal fin that probably 00:05:22.39\00:05:25.12 look like angel wings, its probably how they 00:05:25.15\00:05:27.27 got that name. And they feed on algae 00:05:27.30\00:05:31.73 and sponges and they're not a very 00:05:31.76\00:05:36.36 predatory fish. They're a very 00:05:36.92\00:05:38.71 peaceful fish that's omnivores. 00:05:38.74\00:05:40.89 They eat a variety of invertebrates and algaes. 00:05:40.92\00:05:44.51 Alright, there is another fish that's 00:05:45.58\00:05:47.13 going by here that's beautiful. 00:05:47.16\00:05:48.54 Has yellow tail with strips on him. 00:05:48.57\00:05:51.09 What is this guy? That's a Porkfish, 00:05:51.12\00:05:53.39 and a porkfish is also related to the grunts 00:05:53.96\00:05:57.54 and I think they're called porkfish because 00:05:57.57\00:05:59.41 they make a grunting like a pig noise. 00:05:59.44\00:06:01.20 They're another fish that's identified by 00:06:01.50\00:06:03.04 their sound. They are just beautiful, 00:06:03.07\00:06:05.78 so we have learned something about 00:06:06.40\00:06:09.46 many of these fish and there are so many 00:06:09.92\00:06:11.88 fish in this tank. I wish we had more 00:06:11.91\00:06:13.96 time but we don't have more time for now. 00:06:13.99\00:06:15.72 Well, so boys and girls this is Ranger 00:06:16.03\00:06:17.95 Jim saying that we have learned so much 00:06:17.98\00:06:20.08 today about these beautiful fish and 00:06:20.11\00:06:22.57 I hope that you've enjoyed it as much as I have. 00:06:22.60\00:06:24.59 So, Ranger Jim as always saying boys 00:06:24.62\00:06:27.37 and girls don't forget to tell Jesus that you 00:06:27.40\00:06:29.54 love him because he really does love you. 00:06:29.57\00:06:33.17 Hi, boys and girls, here in the studio the 00:06:40.98\00:06:42.99 lights are really bright but when we leave the 00:06:43.02\00:06:45.66 studio sometimes the world can get pretty dark. 00:06:45.69\00:06:48.43 Jesus said, let your light so shine before 00:06:49.23\00:06:51.24 men that all might see and glorify 00:06:51.27\00:06:53.40 the Father. I want to do that. 00:06:53.43\00:06:55.35 Let your light so shine that all 00:07:04.31\00:07:08.99 might see and glorify the Father. 00:07:09.02\00:07:12.15 Let your light so shine that all 00:07:12.32\00:07:16.94 might see and glorify the Lord. 00:07:16.97\00:07:19.82 Matthew 5:16 says how much it means, 00:07:20.20\00:07:24.02 When your light is seen from afar. 00:07:24.19\00:07:27.72 You will be amazed when it's God 00:07:28.19\00:07:30.81 they praise. For the love 00:07:30.84\00:07:32.90 they see in who you are. 00:07:32.93\00:07:35.88 Let your light so shine that all 00:07:38.00\00:07:42.66 might see and glorify the Father. 00:07:42.69\00:07:45.87 Let your light so shine that all 00:07:45.90\00:07:50.63 might see and glorify the Lord. 00:07:50.66\00:07:53.56 There is nothing dark like an empty heart, 00:07:53.96\00:07:57.66 Where God has no part it's true. 00:07:58.02\00:08:01.57 When He fills your life you're a 00:08:01.96\00:08:04.21 lantern bright; They can see 00:08:04.61\00:08:06.83 His Spirit shine in you. 00:08:06.86\00:08:09.67 Let your light so shine that all 00:08:11.95\00:08:16.72 might see and glorify the Father. 00:08:16.75\00:08:19.95 Let your light so shine that all 00:08:19.98\00:08:24.77 might see and glorify the Lord. 00:08:24.80\00:08:27.85 That all might see and glorify the Lord. 00:08:28.52\00:08:33.09 I love Italian food. You know today 00:08:42.12\00:08:44.79 we're making lasagna, and you know when 00:08:44.82\00:08:46.55 you think of lasagna you're probably gonna 00:08:46.58\00:08:48.44 think of Italy. And recently I got 00:08:48.47\00:08:50.40 the chance to go to Italy and I can tell 00:08:50.43\00:08:52.85 you they do have delicious lasagna but 00:08:52.88\00:08:55.31 today I'm here to tell you that Italians are 00:08:55.34\00:08:58.20 not the only ones that can make lasagna. 00:08:58.37\00:09:00.51 I'm gonna share with you a recipe today 00:09:00.87\00:09:02.22 called Mexican lasagna. And you know, 00:09:02.25\00:09:05.57 maybe if you gave you even enough 00:09:05.60\00:09:06.75 chance I might even come up with a 00:09:06.78\00:09:08.22 Chinese lasagna or something. 00:09:08.81\00:09:10.17 But anyway today I'm gonna share with you 00:09:10.80\00:09:13.51 Mexican lasagna so let's go ahead and 00:09:13.54\00:09:14.69 put the recipe upon the screen. 00:09:14.72\00:09:16.04 10 8inch tortillas. 1 1 lb. bag of frozen corn. 00:09:17.23\00:09:22.94 2 15oz. cans black beans drained and rinsed. 00:09:23.71\00:09:28.26 1 14.5oz. cans of diced tomatoes 00:09:29.21\00:09:32.67 with green chilies. 1 15oz. can of tomato sauce. 00:09:32.70\00:09:37.49 1 ½ tsp. of chili powder. 1 tsp. of ground cumin. 00:09:38.29\00:09:43.32 1 tsp. of garlic powder. 00:09:44.22\00:09:46.07 1 tsp. Pure Florida Crystals. 00:09:46.94\00:09:49.27 2 3.8oz. of cans sliced black olives 00:09:50.13\00:09:53.52 1 4.5oz. can of diced green chilies. 00:09:54.12\00:09:58.37 1 cup of tofutti better than sour cream. 00:09:59.13\00:10:01.85 1 tbsp. of corn starch. And 1 12oz. box 00:10:02.86\00:10:07.18 of Mori Nu Firm Tofu. Now lets start today 00:10:07.21\00:10:10.94 with our sauce, our tomato sauce, 00:10:10.97\00:10:13.59 and I'm gonna put just a little thin layer of it 00:10:13.90\00:10:17.66 in the bottom of our pan, 00:10:17.69\00:10:18.68 just a little bit too in the bottom, 00:10:20.55\00:10:23.78 just to cover it, just enough to cover it in 00:10:27.13\00:10:29.69 the bottom. And then we're gonna take our 00:10:29.72\00:10:32.73 tortillas. Now I've chosen to use whole 00:10:32.76\00:10:34.56 wheat tortillas today just because they're a 00:10:34.59\00:10:37.18 little bit more healthy for you. 00:10:37.69\00:10:39.21 I've also cut them into four in the strips 00:10:39.63\00:10:42.03 down four, the tortillas in fours, 00:10:42.72\00:10:45.36 and when I layer the tortillas I'm just gonna 00:10:45.99\00:10:48.14 overlap them like this. It's easier to have 00:10:48.57\00:10:51.89 them in here. Plus I like tortillas so. 00:10:51.92\00:10:53.60 Just layer them, and cover up all 00:10:54.89\00:10:56.67 the space in here. Now when you cut 00:10:56.70\00:11:02.08 these, you can also use even a pair of 00:11:02.11\00:11:05.90 kitchen scissors, just make sure that 00:11:05.93\00:11:07.46 they're, you can just cut them, but just 00:11:07.49\00:11:08.93 make sure your scissors are clean 00:11:08.96\00:11:10.06 before you use them, just cover it and next 00:11:10.09\00:11:14.44 we're gonna add our, mixture of our tofutti 00:11:15.45\00:11:19.27 better than sour cream, just cover it on the top. 00:11:19.30\00:11:25.45 Now you know I did get a chance a few 00:11:26.50\00:11:29.74 years back to get to visit Mexico and they 00:11:29.77\00:11:33.07 have lots of different kinds of foods like 00:11:33.10\00:11:35.69 you think of Mexican food such as like bean 00:11:36.81\00:11:38.77 burritos and tacos, and all that kind of 00:11:38.80\00:11:41.74 thing but they really do have a, a lot of 00:11:41.77\00:11:44.42 authentic different kinds of food. 00:11:44.60\00:11:46.34 This is one type of food that you might see. 00:11:46.88\00:11:51.35 When you get that covered just enough 00:11:52.94\00:11:54.43 over the top. You can put your mixture of, 00:11:54.69\00:11:59.32 now I already took my black beans and 00:11:59.84\00:12:01.56 corn and put them together. 00:12:01.59\00:12:04.40 The black beans, make sure that you 00:12:04.43\00:12:06.63 drain them and rinse them and that way if 00:12:06.66\00:12:10.74 you have juice in there, it's gonna make 00:12:10.77\00:12:11.90 your Lasagna soggy, and the corn you don't 00:12:11.93\00:12:15.72 have to cook either, you can just thought 00:12:15.75\00:12:17.91 thaw it out. Let's use half your mixture, 00:12:17.94\00:12:20.17 you know I went ahead and mixed it up, 00:12:20.49\00:12:21.67 just to save a little bit of time. 00:12:22.58\00:12:23.55 Just use about half, cover it in the bottom. 00:12:25.67\00:12:28.08 And then you're gonna put on your 00:12:30.96\00:12:32.81 black olives. Just sprinkle some of 00:12:32.84\00:12:36.97 those over. If you don't like black 00:12:37.00\00:12:38.42 olives, you don't have to use them, but I love 00:12:38.45\00:12:40.44 black olives. Black olives are one of my 00:12:40.47\00:12:42.25 favorite things. And then you're gonna 00:12:43.61\00:12:47.22 start again with your tortillas or you can 00:12:47.50\00:12:51.72 put, actually you know, you don't have 00:12:51.75\00:12:53.21 to but you can put a little bit of sauce over 00:12:53.24\00:12:54.94 the top and it just makes it good. 00:12:54.97\00:12:56.93 I like the sauce but you don't have to do it. 00:12:56.96\00:12:58.63 Just remember, just continue your layers, 00:12:58.98\00:13:00.61 just as I've done ending with sauce on 00:13:00.64\00:13:03.17 the top and now I have my finished 00:13:03.20\00:13:05.36 product for you, you're going to bake 00:13:05.39\00:13:07.26 this for, lets see, you're gonna bake it 00:13:07.29\00:13:11.59 at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and I've 00:13:11.62\00:13:14.06 finished lasagna, actually to show you, 00:13:14.09\00:13:16.66 that I've already made, 00:13:16.69\00:13:17.66 and I have to use these pothole because 00:13:20.26\00:13:21.36 it's a little bit hot. So when you bring 00:13:21.54\00:13:22.77 it out of the oven make sure you use those. 00:13:22.80\00:13:25.03 Now I have some fresh green parsley here. 00:13:26.42\00:13:29.29 Just go sprinkle it little over the top. 00:13:29.66\00:13:31.04 My mom taught me that it's very 00:13:31.07\00:13:32.13 important to garnish your foods, just a 00:13:32.16\00:13:34.76 little bit to make it look pretty, just like that. 00:13:34.79\00:13:38.53 Looks beautiful and it's delicious to eat, 00:13:40.45\00:13:42.34 well remember until next time to keep 00:13:42.37\00:13:44.88 cooking and eat healthy. 00:13:44.91\00:13:46.54 Abraham, Abraham, come on over, 00:14:11.60\00:14:14.40 I got some nice fresh bread for you. 00:14:14.43\00:14:16.28 Oh, it smells good. Tell me what's been 00:14:16.31\00:14:18.75 happening in your life lately? 00:14:18.78\00:14:20.01 Well, this bread reminds me of a 00:14:20.45\00:14:22.23 situation in my life when I was 00:14:22.26\00:14:24.78 sitting out by my tent. What happened? 00:14:24.81\00:14:27.36 It was a hot afternoon, the two shade trees 00:14:28.22\00:14:31.89 were giving me the best shade they could 00:14:31.92\00:14:33.77 and I looked and I saw three men they 00:14:34.75\00:14:37.94 just seem to appear out of nowhere, yes, 00:14:37.97\00:14:41.23 I quickly invited them to come and sit in the shade. 00:14:42.99\00:14:45.20 Yeah. I quickly got Sarah to start working 00:14:45.56\00:14:47.84 on some bread. I went out and got some 00:14:47.87\00:14:51.10 some meat for them. I washed their feet. 00:14:52.10\00:14:56.15 Everything was going fine until 00:14:57.22\00:14:58.90 they said the next thing. What was that? 00:14:58.93\00:15:01.51 They looked at me and they looked back 00:15:02.87\00:15:05.81 at Sarah in the tent. We're little old you 00:15:05.84\00:15:09.09 know, and they said Sarah is going to have 00:15:09.12\00:15:15.02 a son, not just that she was pregnant but she 00:15:15.58\00:15:19.81 was going to have a boy. What did she do? 00:15:19.84\00:15:22.99 But she's too old to have children. 00:15:23.02\00:15:24.32 As soon as she heard it, I heard her 00:15:24.65\00:15:27.16 laughing, I heard her laughing. 00:15:27.19\00:15:29.39 The three men turned, looked right back at 00:15:30.28\00:15:33.75 her, saw her head rocking as she 00:15:33.78\00:15:35.47 laughed and said, why is she laughing? 00:15:35.50\00:15:39.15 A little uncomfortable. Yeah. I would think so. 00:15:40.73\00:15:43.45 Sarah came out. They said to her, 00:15:44.14\00:15:47.93 why do you laugh when we tell you 00:15:49.40\00:15:51.01 that you're going to have a son. 00:15:51.04\00:15:52.01 Sarah said, I didn't laugh. 00:15:53.92\00:15:55.77 I guess we can all from time to time be 00:15:57.63\00:15:59.86 afraid of the consequences of telling the truth but 00:15:59.89\00:16:03.29 she shouldn't have done that, no, because 00:16:03.32\00:16:05.80 then the man said, God has declared that 00:16:05.83\00:16:10.73 your promised son will come. 00:16:10.76\00:16:13.27 I didn't have a thing to say. 00:16:15.71\00:16:17.10 But how is she going to have a child, so old? 00:16:18.30\00:16:20.23 Well, what I know now is that when God 00:16:20.75\00:16:24.47 says something is gonna happen, God does it. 00:16:24.50\00:16:30.21 It happens, doesn't it? Yes. We had the boy, 00:16:30.24\00:16:33.88 we thought of a very appropriate name, 00:16:35.36\00:16:37.24 laughter, he was named Issac, 00:16:38.49\00:16:41.85 and that boy is growing and growing 00:16:44.04\00:16:47.55 and growing. Listen, keep up the 00:16:47.58\00:16:51.75 good work with the bread. 00:16:51.78\00:16:52.84 I'll talk to you again soon. 00:16:53.68\00:16:54.79 Well, that's a great story. 00:16:54.82\00:16:56.02 We wanna hear about your son Issac some day. 00:16:56.05\00:16:58.66 Take care Jared. We'll see you again. 00:16:59.08\00:17:00.74 Have a good day. 00:17:00.77\00:17:02.05 Hi, boys and girls, I'm here with my friend 00:18:57.71\00:18:59.65 William and he is going to help me 00:18:59.68\00:19:01.46 introduce the book of the day. 00:19:01.49\00:19:04.58 And I am so excited to bring you this book. 00:19:05.15\00:19:07.59 This is "Joseph" family Bible story by 00:19:07.73\00:19:10.24 Ruth Redding Brand. It says, look at this 00:19:10.27\00:19:12.68 beautiful book, it's all about Joseph. 00:19:12.71\00:19:14.60 A good looking boy who had eleven 00:19:14.81\00:19:16.97 brothers, in fact, the book's title is Joseph, 00:19:17.00\00:19:20.48 the family Bible story. This exciting book 00:19:20.51\00:19:23.18 tells how Joseph was spoiled by his father, 00:19:23.21\00:19:25.41 crudely treated by his brothers and 00:19:25.77\00:19:27.55 eventually sold as a slave. 00:19:27.58\00:19:29.31 He ended up in a foreign country where 00:19:29.81\00:19:31.62 he didn't know anyone and he didn't 00:19:31.65\00:19:33.79 even know the language. What do you think 00:19:33.82\00:19:35.79 happened to him? Perhaps you already 00:19:35.82\00:19:37.69 know if you've read the book of Genesis in 00:19:37.72\00:19:39.33 the Bible but this book tells the story in 00:19:39.36\00:19:42.32 such a way that you'll feel you're right with 00:19:42.35\00:19:44.66 Joseph as he slaves for an Egyptian 00:19:44.69\00:19:46.70 master, fights off the fleas in prison and 00:19:46.73\00:19:49.40 stares at the stars at night, lonely for his 00:19:49.62\00:19:52.17 father and missing his own home. 00:19:52.20\00:19:54.05 But this book will also tell you how God 00:19:54.57\00:19:56.57 took care of Joseph and raised him from 00:19:56.60\00:19:58.39 the slave to the highest ruler in Egypt. 00:19:58.42\00:20:01.45 And what about his mean brothers? 00:20:01.95\00:20:03.37 Did Joseph get even with them for selling him 00:20:03.65\00:20:05.69 as a slave or did something happen 00:20:05.72\00:20:08.36 that was even better? You'll want to read 00:20:08.39\00:20:10.76 this book Joseph family Bible story, by 00:20:10.79\00:20:13.78 a good friend of mine Ruth Redding Brand. 00:20:14.36\00:20:16.42 Alright, this looks like a good book, doesn't it? 00:20:17.05\00:20:19.30 Yes, I am sure, it does. It does. Well, I am so 00:20:19.33\00:20:21.72 excited that you've joined me today 00:20:21.75\00:20:23.11 William but you know what I've 00:20:23.14\00:20:24.94 somebody on the phone that loves Jesus 00:20:24.97\00:20:26.57 very much. Would you like to listen 00:20:26.60\00:20:27.89 what she has to say? Yeah. 00:20:27.92\00:20:29.67 Okay, Carmen are you there? 00:20:29.87\00:20:31.23 Hello, Brenda. I am so glad and do you 00:21:10.29\00:21:12.40 pray to Jesus everyday. Yes, I do. 00:21:12.43\00:21:14.99 It's important to pray to Jesus, isn't it? Yep. 00:21:15.02\00:21:17.92 Well, I'm so glad that you joined us today, 00:21:18.46\00:21:20.51 and I want to encourage you to 00:21:20.92\00:21:21.89 keep sharing Jesus, will you? Okay. 00:21:21.90\00:21:24.64 Alright, bye, bye Carmen. Bye. 00:21:24.80\00:21:27.11 Well, that was sweet. You could tell she 00:21:28.16\00:21:29.52 really loves Jesus, doesn't she? Umh! 00:21:29.55\00:21:31.29 And you know what I know you love Jesus. 00:21:31.50\00:21:33.21 you've been on Kids Time many times 00:21:33.24\00:21:37.11 sharing Jesus right here on Kids Time 00:21:37.14\00:21:38.84 and I just appreciate you know what boys 00:21:38.87\00:21:40.38 and girls, you know what I appreciate 00:21:40.41\00:21:41.49 most about William. The most I appreciate 00:21:41.52\00:21:44.66 about him is his love for Jesus and it just 00:21:44.69\00:21:47.19 shines out, I love William's smile. 00:21:47.22\00:21:50.21 And if you've ever seen him on Kids 00:21:50.24\00:21:51.75 Time playing the trumpet you can't 00:21:51.78\00:21:53.55 miss him because he will be playing the 00:21:53.58\00:21:55.21 trumpet and smiling. Have you ever seen 00:21:55.24\00:21:56.89 anybody do that. I had never seen it before 00:21:56.92\00:21:58.94 but I just love to watch him play the 00:21:58.97\00:22:01.13 trumpet and smile at the same time. 00:22:01.16\00:22:02.84 Well, you know what William is still 00:22:03.29\00:22:04.73 smiling today and I love that smile. 00:22:04.76\00:22:06.75 Can you tell me what do you do, maybe 00:22:07.09\00:22:09.71 something you've done recently 'cause 00:22:09.74\00:22:10.80 I know you always do something for Jesus. 00:22:10.83\00:22:12.55 Share something maybe that you'd like 00:22:12.84\00:22:14.35 to tell the boys and girls. 00:22:14.55\00:22:15.83 You could maybe give them an idea 00:22:15.86\00:22:17.13 what to witness. When the Passion 00:22:17.16\00:22:19.26 movie came out I and some others went 00:22:19.29\00:22:21.61 to the theater and we were able to pass out 00:22:21.64\00:22:23.50 this book called The Passion of Love. 00:22:23.53\00:22:26.15 And it says, it's by Ellen, E.G. White 00:22:26.18\00:22:28.63 and the Passion of Love. And it talks more 00:22:28.66\00:22:31.65 about the mental suffering of God and 00:22:31.68\00:22:33.36 how he went through in his mind and it's 00:22:33.83\00:22:36.88 just a really good book and it touched 00:22:36.91\00:22:38.47 the people a lot you know, it's just the way 00:22:38.50\00:22:41.87 they reacted to it. It was really nice. 00:22:41.90\00:22:44.06 Now did you pass any other book out? 00:22:44.09\00:22:45.91 Yes, this is.. The Great Controversy. 00:22:46.26\00:22:48.83 The Great Controversy, it says, and it's a very 00:22:48.86\00:22:53.50 good book also, it's tell us the whole story 00:22:53.53\00:22:55.64 from the beginning to the end and one 00:22:55.67\00:22:58.53 time we had the experience when 00:22:58.56\00:23:00.38 one of the people who we saw there, 00:23:01.39\00:23:04.35 they had a big van and they take 00:23:04.38\00:23:06.58 homeless people to see the movie and 00:23:06.61\00:23:08.66 they also feed them, so it was really a good 00:23:08.69\00:23:11.10 experience because our church then got to 00:23:11.13\00:23:13.85 be able to start feeding the homeless. 00:23:13.88\00:23:16.16 It's really good.
