00:05 out there, looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:09 it's time to share there is a world 00:12 out there. Let's tell them that 00:14 He loves us so. Let's tell them that 00:18 He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls. Well, I know a 00:26 family who live in Montana and it 00:28 gets very, very cold during the 00:30 winter there. You know what they 00:32 do to keep warm though, they burn 00:33 logs in a little wood stove and 00:35 the heat from that wood stove 00:36 keeps the entire house toasty warm. 00:39 They do keep the fire burning all 00:41 day and all night though during 00:42 those cold winter months. 00:44 This family has two small children 00:46 and as you can imagine they don't 00:48 want their little ones to get burned 00:49 on that hot stove, so they had to 00:51 teach their children in a very early 00:52 age what hot means. Now they would 00:54 take their children's little fingers 00:56 and hold them for just a second against 00:58 the mug of hot water just like this 00:59 one and they would just put the little 01:01 fingers there hot, hot, their children 01:05 learn so well what hot means that 01:07 they were never attempted to touch 01:08 the wood stove in the winter. 01:10 You know all the parents had to do 01:12 was point to the wood stove and 01:13 say hot and the little children knew 01:15 to stay away. The Bible tells many 01:17 stories of how God warned his people 01:19 not to do certain things, but many 01:21 times they went ahead and they did 01:23 them anyway and sometimes they 01:25 won't even very good learners. 01:27 God wanted them to learn not to 01:28 do those things anymore, so we allowed 01:30 them to feel the heat of their bad choices. 01:34 You know, sometimes that 01:35 meant their enemies fought long 01:37 wars with them, and sometimes it 01:39 meant that they were taking captive 01:41 by others nations and put to work as slaves. 01:44 Of course then they would cry to the 01:47 Lord for help and you know what? 01:48 God would deliver them, what a good 01:51 and precious and patient God we serve. 01:53 One time an angel appeared to a couple 01:56 who had no children and he told them 01:58 that they would be the parents of the man 01:59 God would use to deliver his people 02:02 from their enemies. Oh! They were 02:04 so excited, the angel even told them 02:06 how to raise their promised baby boy 02:08 and they determined to do exactly 02:09 as they were told. Today, we are 02:11 going to here from the father who was 02:13 visited by the angel. Oh and by the way, 02:16 I think you know the name of his famous 02:18 son ever heard of Samson. 02:20 We will meet his father today, 02:22 but first let's meet up with Emily 02:24 in the garden and see what 02:25 she has for us today. 02:37 Hey boys and girls welcome back 02:38 to the gardens. Well, I am just here 02:40 with my garden helper Abbey 02:42 and we are working in my herb garden. 02:45 But do you hear all that noise Abbey, 02:47 do you hear all that noise it's really 02:49 noisy down here. Do you know 02:51 why it's noisy because my garden 02:53 is in the middle of a big city. 02:54 So you are gonna hear all sorts of noise 02:57 like all of the trucks driving by and the cars 03:00 and if you listen really closely you might 03:02 even hear some birds chirping and 03:05 may be even Rodney the Rooster 03:07 might make an appearance. 03:09 Well, today we're gonna talk about 03:10 a plant names and did you know a lot 03:13 of plant names you can almost guess 03:15 them whenever you just look at the 03:16 plant like for example this first 03:19 plant that I am gonna talk about I am 03:20 even gonna take off my garden gloves 03:23 and put them down because this plant 03:24 is so soft. Do you see all of these 03:27 plants boys and girls in front of me; 03:29 see all the really beautiful 03:30 silver flooded. Abbey can you touch 03:33 one of these leaves oh it's really soft 03:36 isn't it soft Abbey? Oh! It's really soft, 03:39 it's so soft that it feel so good 03:42 even on your cheek. Do you know 03:43 what this looks like. Well or do you 03:46 know what the name of it is this is 03:48 called the Lancier isn't that silly, 03:50 a Lancier because that's so soft 03:53 you can almost see the hair on it. 03:56 Well boys and girls another really 03:58 neat plant is this plant, now look at the 04:04 shape of this leaf, look at that shape. 04:06 Abbey isn't that pretty and do you 04:09 know what it's called any guesses 04:12 well I am gonna give you a clue, 04:14 I am gonna give you a clue okay Abbey 04:16 when I put it up to my ear something 04:20 that do with ears and imagine if I had a 04:22 long trunk right give up any guesses yet, 04:27 well this plant is called an elephant ear. 04:31 Does it look like an elephant ear, 04:33 do you think yeah next time you 04:35 go to the circus be sure to look at your 04:37 elephant and be like. Well, I know 04:39 a plant it's name after your ear Mr. Elephant. 04:44 Now the next plant is one of my favorites 04:47 boys and girls and it's this plant right here, 04:52 see all the beautiful colors in this plant 04:54 look at this beautiful flowers that God 04:56 created for us, isn't it just beautiful. 04:58 This plant is really, really special have 05:02 you seen this plant before. 05:03 Do you know what's really, really need 05:05 about this plant is it if you take your 05:07 two point of fingers and you just press 05:10 right against the flower bloom 05:12 you can actually make it talk. 05:15 Hello Abbey isn't that really fun 05:18 you guys this is one of my favorite 05:20 plants can you do it Abbey you just 05:22 put your finger here and you make the 05:24 snap dragon talk isn't that fun, 05:28 yeah it's really fun. 05:32 The next plant I wanna show you 05:34 boys and girls is a really tiny little 05:36 plant look how small it is and look, 05:39 look at all of these it appear almost 05:41 look like peas how many of you 05:42 like to eat peas, I didn't like to 05:47 when I was a little kid but I love them 05:48 now but this plant is called string 05:51 of pearls and if you look at it, 05:53 it really looks like it's a string of 05:55 pearls doesn't it. Okay, boys 05:58 and girls the last flower we're gonna go 06:00 over today is this beautiful 06:02 purple flower. Abbey can you 06:04 hold this for me now this flower is really, 06:08 really special because first of all 06:10 I love purple it is my favorite color, 06:14 but second of all if you look really close, 06:16 do you see all those sticking up. 06:19 Well they almost look like little tinny 06:21 tiny pins sticking in the center 06:22 of this flower and you know 06:25 what the name of this flower is the 06:27 pincushion flower because it looks 06:29 like there is a bunch of pins sticking 06:31 in a cushion isn't that pretty, 06:34 aren't these flowers are very, very pretty. 06:37 Now boys and girls, I hope now that 06:39 you have learned some of the really neat 06:40 common names that plants come with 06:43 such as Lancier and the pincushion flower. 06:46 I encourage you everyday to 06:49 sow the seed of God's love. 07:00 I like to do special things for my mom 07:02 and dad like picking flowers for my mom 07:05 and helping my dad in the yard. 07:06 I am also learning that it's fun 07:08 to do nice things for others like telling 07:10 them about my friend Jesus. 07:12 This song more about Jesus was 07:14 written by Eliza Hewitt. She loved kids 07:18 and she loved reading poems 07:19 and music for them. Today, we are 08:59 making taco pizza, let me 09:01 read the ingredients for you. 09:04 1 160z. box of corn muffin mix 09:07 1 ½ cup of soy milk 09:10 3 cups of vegetarian burger 09:13 2 cups of mild chunky salsa 09:17 4 cups of refried beans 09:20 1 8oz. container of Better Than Sour Cream 09:24 2 cups of shredded lettuce 09:26 2 cups of chopped tomatoes 09:29 Guacamole or avocadoes 09:32 1 cup sliced black olives 09:35 Now to start our recipe I have 09:37 already made my favorite corn bread 09:39 mix you can just use whatever 09:40 kind you like, remember when you 09:42 are making it to cut down on the 09:44 liquid and make sure you want a 09:46 denture corn bread also you are 09:49 gonna bake your corn bread at 400 degrees 09:51 for about 10 to 12 minutes until it looks 09:55 about done on the top and you 09:57 are gonna put it in a baking sheet a pan, 10:02 it's gonna kind of flat. Now start, 10:04 you gonna start with your refried 10:08 beans and spread those over the top. 10:12 Now my mom loves to have parties 10:17 at our house, all different kind of theme 10:19 parties and whenever she does 10:21 she has done a Mexican party before 10:23 and she likes to make little individual 10:25 ones you can make these in little circle 10:27 pans and then you can as you can 10:32 put all the different things you can put 10:35 on it out in the line and then everyone 10:37 can make their own. So, it's like a little 10:38 personal pan taco pizza seems, 10:42 everyone seems to really like it a lot, 10:44 you get to spread out and there is many 10:50 different things you can put on this too 10:51 you can put on, if you don't have fresh 10:54 avocadoes I chose you use fresh avocadoes, 10:56 if you don't have fresh avocadoes 10:57 you can make it with guacamole and 11:02 I like guacamole too but I didn't have that, 11:06 we just have fresh avocadoes, 11:10 spread those refried beans out. 11:11 Now I'm gonna put our burger 11:13 on and my favorite flavor is ice 11:15 burger but you can use any 11:16 kind burger you want just sprinkle 11:20 that over the top. If you don't like 11:23 vegetarian burger then you do not 11:24 have to use that at all, 11:26 it's just kind of whatever you like to 11:27 use on this pizza. The pizza doesn't 11:32 have to be really any, it can be really 11:39 anything it doesn't have to be exactly 11:40 what I have done here. It can be whatever 11:43 you want and you don't use all this 11:45 either just however much you like. 11:52 Now I am gonna put on salsa here 11:58 and it is just kind you are not gonna 11:59 spread it, it just kind wanna just 12:01 let over the top, if you try to spread 12:06 it you gonna move around all 12:08 the ingredients. Just like that and 12:14 I wanna put on our lettuce, 12:19 I love lettuce. So, I like to put lots 12:22 lettuces on mine and this is my 12:26 favorite part. You can put however 12:31 much you like now if I know that 12:34 my dad loves jalapeno peppers. 12:37 I don't have them today but 12:39 if it were him I know that he would 12:40 want it in corn bread, but you can 12:41 put jalapeno or corns or something inside 12:45 the corn bread too if you want that 12:47 but I know that my dad would 12:48 like me to put it on in the corn bread 12:51 and on the top. Now, we are gonna 12:56 put on little bit of soy sour cream 12:58 and this is better then sour cream, 13:04 soy sour cream. Now we are gonna 13:09 put on some tomatoes just a few tomatoes 13:19 and some avocado, just a little bit 13:22 of avocado, and some olives. 13:35 It's nice and colorful, pretty and it 13:39 tastes good, simple to make and delicious. 13:42 You know, it's a Mexican meal in itself 13:45 and you are gonna love it so you 13:47 should try it, but remember until next 13:49 time to keep cooking and eat healthy. 14:27 Hey little girls how are you today? 14:33 Good to see you, hi how are you doing? 14:35 Great, here you are. Well, let me tell 15:18 you something God we're not going 15:21 to deal with it God is gonna deal with it, 15:23 yeah, yes, that's what gonna take place, 15:25 okay, I have got some, tell me how 15:27 he is gonna do, I have got some news 15:29 to tell you I have been wanting to 15:31 tell somebody and now is the time, 15:33 okay, listen, okay. This is amazing, 15:36 God is sending us a deliverer, from where? 15:40 Well, this is amazing, let me tell you 15:43 what happened? What happened? 15:44 Well, the other morning, I woke up 15:45 and my wife comes running to me and 15:49 she says husband she says I had a dream 15:51 last night, a vision who has dreams in vision, 15:55 yes. Well my wife did, she had a vision 15:58 and she said a man of God came to me 16:00 and he told me that, that I was, wasn't 16:05 able to have children but that was all 16:07 gonna change that I was gonna have a child. 16:09 This was in the vision, this was in the 16:11 vision and he said he is gonna be 16:14 the next deliverer of Israel. Wow! 16:17 But then, we have been looking for 16:18 a deliverer, but that's not all. 16:20 He said the man said to her now 16:24 listen you must feed him a right kind 16:27 of food, yeah. It's got to be a good 16:29 health message, here you got to have 16:31 good food, you can't have alcohol 16:33 and you can't strong drink of any kind 16:38 and not even any grapes or razors, 16:42 grapes or razors and they were not to 16:45 cut his hair because he was to be nazarite, 16:48 wow, completely and totally 16:50 dedicated to God and that goes 16:51 for the women too. This was gonna be 16:54 your son, it's my wife, yeah, 16:59 so I thought this is amazing I said 17:02 we have got to talk to the man and 17:04 so I went and I prayed and I said oh 17:06 God let me talk to the man that came, 17:10 the angel or whoever was it came, yeah, 17:13 and you know what God heard my prayer, 17:15 he did he talk to you too. Well the next day, 17:18 the next day he appeared again to 17:22 my wife she was out in the field working, 17:23 yeah, yeah. And he appeared to her 17:26 and she said wait I will go get my husband, 17:28 so she ran and got me, yeah and sure 17:32 enough he was still there, wow. 17:34 And I bow down and I said, 17:35 please what is this, that's going to 17:39 happen and so he let and told me 17:41 says whatever I told your wife is a way 17:43 it's going to be, wow, well how should 17:45 we care for the child, well I told your 17:47 wife how it should be done but he 17:49 repeated it all to me told me how 17:51 we supposed eat and how we to live 17:54 and all of this it was amazing and 17:58 then I said oh let me can I make, 18:01 have get you something to eat. 18:03 He says well I won't eat anything 18:05 but you can give something, 18:07 so I ran and got a goat we slaughtered 18:10 it and prepared it and he says put 18:13 it on that rock over there and 18:15 so I put it on the rock and he reach out 18:17 and a flame of fire came in, wow, 18:20 and burned it up, this was certainly 18:22 a man of God. Oh! And then you know 18:24 what happened he went right up 18:26 into that flame out of shine, wow 18:29 what an experience Manoah, do you 18:31 believe me? Oh! I believe you, 18:33 I believe you, well that happen, 18:34 it happened and so I said oh my we 18:37 have seen this must be God, 18:39 are you gonna what he gonna 18:42 name this boy. Well wait a minute 18:44 I am not through yet, okay, 18:45 I said what this must be God, 18:48 we were gonna die, we have seen God, 18:50 yes, you know my wife said well she 18:52 said why not or no she wouldn't have 18:56 said that if we were gonna die telling us 18:59 how to raise a child want to feed him 19:01 and I said well you are right so that's 19:03 the story, wow I tell you that's 19:06 amazing story, God is sending his deliverer. 19:07 And I don't know how but that's 19:10 a story but don't, be careful who 19:13 you tell this too. Thomas it is 20:44 Shoebox Kids Bible Stories Book 5 20:47 and let me tell you this is an exciting 20:50 book you gonna hear all about 20:51 the Shoebox Kids they meet a Church 20:53 and they find that their Bible stories 20:55 have a strange way of fitting into things 20:57 that happened to them everyday each 21:00 week brings a new adventure in learning 21:02 what the Bible means in real life. 21:03 The Bible stories in this book start 21:05 with King Saul using a witch to talk 21:07 with Samuel's ghost include Elijah's 21:10 fiery chariot ride to heaven, 21:12 and they end with Elisha and the 21:14 runaway army. The Shoebox Kids 21:17 stories that go along with those 21:18 from the Bible start with Chris' trouble 21:20 with dangerous cartoons, a hamster 21:22 named Herman on the loose, 21:24 and DeeDee's stand for right on the swings. 21:28 Questions at the end of each chapter 21:30 make sharing Bible lessons interesting 21:32 and fun.
