Kids Time, 00:21 Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls, do you like stories? 00:26 I love stories, but today I have kind of a 00:29 sad story to tell you. It's a story about a 00:32 very poor family who moved into a new town 00:34 and send their little girl Lisa 00:36 to a local school. Now Lisa wanted very much 00:39 to fit in with the other children 00:41 and she didn't want anyone to know that 00:43 she was poor. She constantly begged 00:45 her mother to buy her new clothes 00:46 and the latest styles and the latest fashions. 00:48 Lisa made new friends and she enjoyed 00:51 going to school. She loved her parents, 00:54 but she was ashamed of them. 00:56 She was ashamed of their old fashion clothes 00:59 and their old rusty car and the fact 01:01 that her mother always wore hair 01:02 pulled back in a bun. You know 01:04 she discouraged her mom and dad from even 01:06 attending her school events. 01:08 And one day Lisa stayed late to play 01:10 after school. And one of her new friends said 01:13 hey Lisa was that your mother 01:15 I saw you with at the store yesterday. 01:17 Well, Lisa was taken off guard, 01:20 she quickly answered, she was just horrified, 01:22 she quickly answered, no that wasn't my mother. 01:25 That was just someone who cleans our house 01:27 and does our shopping. My mother's sick 01:30 and she just, she never comes out of house. 01:32 Just then Lisa looked up and she saw 01:36 her mother standing only a few feet away. 01:39 She had come looking for Lisa 01:41 and had her heard the entire conversation. 01:43 Oh! How Lisa burned inside this time 01:47 with a different kind of shame. 01:48 How could she have hurt her mother like that. 01:52 You know in today's Bible story 01:54 one of Jesus disciples denied knowing Jesus 01:57 and Jesus overheard. You know how sad 02:00 that must have made him and what about 02:01 the disciple. How did that make him feel. 02:04 Well, you're gonna find out later on, 02:07 but right now it's time to join 02:09 Emily out in the garden. 02:17 Wow, me and boys and girls. 02:18 Wow! Look at all these weeds here. 02:21 Oh my goodness! Welcome to garden time 02:24 boys and girls. Me and my excellent 02:26 crew of garden helpers are busy weeding 02:28 this big garden. Now do you know what a weed is? 02:32 Does anybody know what a weed is? 02:34 This. That's right, oh that's right, 02:37 all of these, a weed is any plant in your garden 02:41 that you don't want there. And you really 02:43 don't want weeds in your garden. 02:45 They, they do a lot of bad things. 02:48 First thing that they do is they don't look 02:50 very pretty, do they? No. No, oh they 02:54 don't look very pretty at all. The other thing 02:56 that they do is that they grow big and tall, 02:59 kind of like this weed way up here. 03:01 They grow big and tall and they crowd out 03:03 all of the other plants. They take all 03:05 of the water, all of the nutrients 03:07 and the plants that you plant can't really grow 03:10 that much, can they? No. Do you guys 03:13 like to weed. Yes, yeah. Well can you find 03:18 the new weeds in here for me? 03:19 Oh! That's right, we have one right here, 03:23 I got right there. Isn't this a weed? 03:25 That is a weed, that's right. 03:27 Now, how can you tell if it's a weed 03:29 or it's something you actually planted. 03:30 Because they're not right, because they 03:34 don't, because they're not what you planted. 03:37 Right, yeah it is. But one way boys and girls 03:40 that you can tell if it's a weed 03:42 or not is by labeling your plants. 03:44 And by labeling it. The label says Viola 03:47 and all of, oh! that's right 03:49 and all of these plants we know are Violas. 03:51 So anything that doesn't look like a Viola 03:53 you know you wanna pick. Now then 03:55 last important thing that you wanna remember 03:57 whenever you're weeding is that you wanna 03:59 make sure you get all of the roots. 04:01 Look boys and girls, see if you don't get 04:04 the roots the weeds are gonna keep coming 04:06 back and back, good job. So we really wanna weed 04:10 and get all of the roots. So you wanna grab 04:13 the base and pull up from the soil. 04:15 Wow! So, is everybody excited 04:17 go out to your garden and weed? Yeah, yeah. 04:21 Alright. Well today I'm 06:50 in the mood for baking and today I'm making 06:52 Banana Nut Muffins. Let me go ahead 06:56 and read the ingredients for you. 06:58 1 ½ cups of all purpose flour, 07:01 ½ cup of toasted wheat germ, 07:04 ½ cup of pure Florida Crystals, 07:08 1 tbsp. of baking powder, 1 tsp. of 07:12 cinnamon, ½ tsp. of salt, 1/4 tsp. of 07:18 ground nutmeg, 2 ripe bananas mashed, 07:22 1 chopped cup of chopped walnuts, 07:26 3/4 cup of soy milk, 5 tbsp. of 07:31 melted margarine, 1 tbsp. of corn starch, 07:35 1 tsp. of vanilla and cinnamon sugar. 07:40 Now, lets save a little bit of time 07:42 I have already mixed up my Florida Crystals 07:44 and my flour and wheat germ in this bowl. 07:46 And we're just gonna go ahead 07:47 and add the rest of the ingredients, 07:49 our seasonings, our cinnamon and our nutmeg. 07:56 And I'm gonna add the corn starch 07:59 and the corn starch is actually. 08:03 You notice in this recipe there's no eggs 08:05 or anything like that to make it rise, 08:06 because eggs aren't very good for you, 08:08 so I like to use corn starch. And corn starch 08:10 just makes it rise. Add the salts 08:15 and then just mix up your dry ingredients. 08:17 Just don't spill it, mix up your dry ingredients 08:20 just a little bit. And then we're gonna add 08:24 our wet ingredients. It's our soy margarine 08:26 and it's already been melted. 08:28 You see I've just made a little bit of a well 08:32 or a hole centered to put the wet ingredients into 08:35 and the vanilla. So mix these up. 08:40 Now remember if you don't like nuts 08:42 or anything like that, you don't have 08:44 to add them. Now we're gonna add 08:46 our banana, or you can add a different 08:47 kind of nut or maybe even some dates, 08:51 some dry dates or raisins or anything, 08:55 any kind of thing that you like. 08:56 You don't, you don't have to add the nuts 09:00 if you don't like them. Stir that up 09:04 just a little bit and then add our nuts. 09:10 I chose to use that so. 'Cause I, 09:12 I do like nuts. Stir that up, 09:18 now these muffins are great hot or cold. 09:21 Hot right out of the oven or cold 09:23 and you know what they even freeze good, 09:26 so if you wanna freeze them and eat them later. 09:29 Go to frozen too and they're even good 09:31 just a little bit cold right out the freezer 09:34 or maybe a little bit after they've thawed 09:37 because you wouldn't wanna eat them 09:38 right hard off. If you want them really cold, 09:39 they're good like that. When you get them 09:42 all mixed up. Oh! Oops, I forget my soy milk, 09:45 so we're gonna add our soy milk. 09:46 They looked a little dry and the soy milk. 09:53 Now you could have put that and that might 09:55 have been a little easier for you to put it 09:56 in before you put in the nuts 09:58 and the banana, but its fine now too. 10:02 It won't really, it won't make a big difference. 10:05 You get that all mixed up. 10:08 Now we're gonna go over and get our muffin tins 10:10 that I already have here. And we're gonna 10:15 get our nonstick cooking spray 10:16 and spray them real good, because if you 10:19 don't spray them then your muffins 10:20 are gonna stick in there. And to put 10:24 a little bit, put about three fourths or so of, 10:26 oh the mixture now, if you have a spoon, 10:31 I don't have a spoon here. 10:32 If you have a spoon, a spoon is gonna be a 10:34 lot easier than this spatula, 10:36 it won't make as big of a mess. 10:37 You should fill it up about three fourths 10:40 of the way full. Just like that 10:43 and then we're gonna, I've already mixed up 10:45 some Florida Crystals and some cinnamon 10:47 together in the bowl. And you're just gonna 10:49 put a generous amount of it on the top 10:56 of each of the muffins. You're gonna bake 11:00 these at 400 degrees for about 18 to 20 minutes 11:03 or until you stick a toothpick at the center. 11:06 And if the toothpick comes out clean 11:07 then you know that your muffins are done, 11:09 but if the muffin comes out with stuff on it. 11:11 The muffins aren't done and you wanna 11:12 bake them for a little longer. 11:14 Now I had a finished product to show 11:16 or some muffins already baked to show you. 11:22 See how easy that was, absolutely delicious. 11:27 These muffins you will love, 11:28 I know you can make them for your parents, 11:30 you can make them for you brother, 11:32 your sister. Everyone in your family will love 11:35 these muffins. At least I know my family love 11:37 these muffins. Well remember, until next 11:40 time to keep cooking and eat healthy. 12:00 Hi Anna. We heard something 12:09 happened last week at the court house? 12:11 Could you tell us about it. Oh! Absolutely. 12:13 Did you hear about Jesus Christ of Nazareth 12:17 whom they crucified. I was there 12:19 when they brought him into the court house 12:21 of the High Priest. And that evening 12:24 there was a fire in the middle of the 12:26 court house and a bunch of men 12:28 came in with him and they were sitting around 12:30 this fire and I saw one man there 12:34 that I knew was a follower of Jesus. 12:37 So I went up to him and I said you 12:40 were with him. You're one of his disciples. 12:43 And this man said to me, oh no 12:46 I don't know him. Then someone told me 12:49 his name is Peter. And as soon as they said 12:53 that another man looked over at him 12:55 and with the fire light just dancing 12:58 on his face. He said, yes, you're Peter. 13:01 You're one of his disciples and he said 13:03 I never met the man. And then a third person 13:06 came and said you're a Galilean, 13:09 I can tell by your accent. You are 13:11 one of these disciples. And he raised his hand 13:14 and he said no. I do not know him 13:16 and just as he did. A rooster starting 13:21 crowing outside the courtyard 13:23 and when he did, the most strange 13:26 look came over Peter's face 13:28 and Jesus was walking by and he turned 13:32 and he looked at him. Now you would have 13:35 thought that Jesus would have been mad, 13:37 because this did, it really was his disciple 13:41 and he denied knowing him at all, 13:44 but you know what, it was the 13:47 most amazing thing I've ever seen. 13:49 When this man Jesus turned to look at Peter 13:53 who just denied him three times. 13:55 His eyes were so filled with love. 14:00 I have never seen such love. 14:03 It made my heart break to see the love 14:08 that he had and to know how disappointed 14:10 he must have been at the same time. 14:12 But what happened next was this Peter saw Jesus 14:17 looking at him. And when he saw those eyes 14:21 of love just trained on him, you could see 14:24 the tears well up in his eyes and immediately 14:27 he jumped to his feet and he started crying 14:29 and he ran out just weeping, just weeping 14:33 and it made me weep as well. 14:35 Of course you know what happened, 14:38 they crucified this Jesus of Nazareth. 14:41 And you know even though I work for the 14:44 High Priest there's more to the story 14:47 then I'm aware of and I think 14:50 we all need to learn what is going on here 14:54 and who really was this man Jesus. 14:57 Because no human could have such love 15:02 coming from him. Well, you know 15:05 I hate to tell my story and run, 15:07 but the High Priest sent me for this fabric, 15:09 to make him a new tunic, so I must going, 15:12 but please remember to keep this man Peter 15:16 in you prayers, 'cause I know he's troubled. 15:18 Thanks for coming. I have a little sister 23:10 at school and she's five years old. 23:12 And I like fishing with my sister and my dad. 23:14 It said, I went fishing once 23:17 and we caught nothing. And my sister dropped 23:21 my dad's rod and I liked playing at the park. 23:24 My favorite was the box turtle 23:26 and the donkey on the Kids Time 23:28 with Ranger Jim. I would like one of 23:30 Kids Time Bible studies for me and my sister, 23:33 her name is Jenna Beav. Well, now we have found 23:35 that her name. One day I told 25:34 my friend how Haman build gallows 25:37 for Mordecai and died on the gallows he built. 25:40 She believed me and I was very happy that 25:42 she believed me.
