00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus, it's time to
00:11 share there's a world out there. Let's tell
00:14 them that He loves us so. Let's tell them
00:18 that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:25 Hi boys and girls, I have brought with me
00:27 today a special treasure. Do you see this
00:29 little lamp on my hand. See how it just
00:32 barely fits in the palm of my hand,
00:35 well you know what this lamp was
00:37 actually used in Bible times. And it's really,
00:40 really special to me because it was
00:42 donated to me by two very special people.
00:46 In fact I'd like to show you the picture
00:47 right now of them. This is Pat and Bill
00:50 Zima, and Pat and Bill have worked for
00:54 Jesus their entire lives. Pastor Bill was an
00:58 evangelist, and he used all kinds of artifacts
01:00 in his ministry when he tell children Bible
01:03 stories. Well, a few years ago Bill passed
01:06 away, and he used to love Kids Time his
01:09 wife told me, and his wife Pat called me
01:12 and said that they would like Kids Time
01:14 to have all these artifacts from the Bible.
01:16 And I was so blessed to see that,
01:19 to see their generosity and how God is
01:21 still using them to work for him.
01:24 So, I am so happy to share this with you
01:26 today, because this is an actual authentic
01:30 real one, and they would put oil right in
01:32 here, and did you know that light from
01:34 this little lamp could be seen for miles.
01:38 You know our Bible story today is about
01:40 a little girl who had a light that could be
01:41 seen from miles too. And in fact you can
01:44 still see her light from shining today when
01:46 you hear her story. But her light wasn't a
01:48 lamp like this one. The little girl in our story
01:52 had been kidnapped in the night by
01:53 soldiers and taken far away from her home
01:56 to become a slave. Now she must have been
01:58 terribly heartbroken and homesick.
02:01 But you know what that didn't stop her
02:03 from treating new master and mistress
02:05 with love and kindness. You know it
02:08 doesn't matter how young you are if your
02:10 light is shining for Jesus, people will see it
02:12 from far away and be blessed by it.
02:15 Their lives will be changed forever.
02:18 That's what happened when the little
02:19 girl in our Bible story let her light shine.
02:22 One day she found out that her master had
02:24 leprosy, and there was no known cure for
02:26 leprosy, but that didn't matter to this
02:28 little girl. She had been raised to have faith
02:31 in the God who created the universe,
02:33 and she knew leprosy was no challenge
02:35 for him. She let her light shine by sharing
02:37 her faith with her master. In just a
02:40 little bit we will find out how her master's
02:42 life was changed forever because he followed
02:44 the light of faith shining in that little girl's
02:47 light. But first, lets go to Emily and see
02:50 what she has in the garden for us today.
02:59 Hey boys and girls, welcome to Garden
03:01 Time. Look at all of my garden helpers
03:04 today, are you excited? Yes, yeah.
03:09 Well today we're going to turn a leaf
03:11 into a plant, does that sound like fun?
03:14 Yeah. Okay, well all you need for this
03:17 little short activity is just a couple of
03:19 materials, the first thing is you need a
03:22 house plant, and boys and girls,
03:24 you see this pretty house plant.
03:26 This is my favorite plant, and I named
03:28 it Wanda the violet. It's really fun
03:31 whenever you have a house plant
03:32 to name it because then you can
03:33 act, you can take care of it and say Wanda,
03:35 do you need food. Its really fun you
03:37 should try it at home. But this is an
03:40 African violet, and look how pretty the
03:42 flower is, isn't it beautiful. It's purple,
03:46 and I love purple. Now the next thing
03:49 that you need is you need a big bucket
03:52 of water, a small jar, a pair of scissors,
03:58 and rubber band, and paper.
04:00 That's right Alex. And you have to cut
04:02 this leaf, that's right, and then you put
04:05 it through there, and then you put it
04:07 though. That's right, I think Alex has done
04:09 this activity before, what do you think boys
04:11 and girls. I think he's a real gardener.
04:14 That's right, Alex you are right,
04:16 we need a piece of paper, and a rubber
04:20 band, and we joint and put it in it.
04:23 That's right, good job, so the first thing
04:25 that you want to do is you want to
04:28 pick a leaf off of this plant, and with this
04:31 plant is really important boys and girls
04:33 to pick one of the outside leaves,
04:35 because see all the little leaves inside,
04:38 that's all the new growth, so you want the
04:40 big nice leaves on the outside.
04:42 So what I am going to do, what do
04:44 you think, what do you guys think about
04:45 this leaf right here? Yeah, well I'll get it,
04:48 lets see, lets just go ahead and cut this one.
04:51 I want to know if you cut out.
04:52 Okay, we're going to go ahead and cut this
04:54 leaf off and now the next thing boys
04:57 and girls, I'm going to move this out of
04:58 the way, is you're going to fill up your jar
05:00 of water. So you just fill it up about that
05:06 much, that much is perfect. The next step
05:09 to do is you want to take your piece of paper,
05:12 and fold it in half. Alex, you are really
05:16 good at this activity, cut a triangle,
05:19 that's right cut a little triangle out,
05:23 and it makes a hole, and that's where
05:27 your leaf is going to through. So the next
05:29 step is you take that, oh not yet Alex
05:31 hold on, just a second. You take that piece
05:35 of paper, and you tie a rubber band around
05:39 the jar. Oh, oh, we got an ant crawling on
05:42 our table. You tie the rubber band around
05:45 the jar and the next step is you take the
05:48 leaf, and you insert it into that hole on the
05:50 piece of paper. Look at that boys and girls.
05:55 And one thing you want to really remember
05:57 is you want to make sure that the leaf stem
06:00 touches the water, and what you want to
06:02 do now is put on a window, so maybe in
06:04 your kitchen, or you bedroom, or your
06:06 bathroom where it gets a lot of light,
06:09 and in the next couple of weeks,
06:11 it's actually going to start growing roots,
06:13 and whenever you see little white roots
06:15 growing you can take it out of the jar,
06:17 and plant it, and you're going to have a
06:18 whole new house plant to look forward to.
06:21 And you can name it whatever you want,
06:23 right. Well thanks for helping boys and
06:26 girls today, and I encourage everyone
06:29 to sow a seed of God's love.
06:38 One of my favorite things to do is go on a
06:41 vacation and stay in a hotel and see new
06:43 places. Henry Van Dyke was on apprenticeship
06:46 and was staying in the home of the President
06:49 of the college where he was preaching
06:51 in Massachusetts. The mountains around the
06:54 college were beautiful and majestic and
06:57 Henry enjoyed looking at them.
06:59 Coming down to breakfast one morning
07:00 Henry laid some papers down on the
07:02 President's plate and said here is a hymn
07:05 for you. You're a mountain to my inspiration.
07:10 The hymn the Henry van Dyke written
07:12 is joyful, joyful we adore thee.
07:14 And we like to do that for you now.
07:17 Joyful, joyful, you are the Lord of love,
07:25 Joyful, joyful we adore Thee,
07:29 God of glory, Lord of love,
07:32 Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee,
07:36 hail Thee as the Sun above.
07:39 Melt the clouds of sin and sadness,
07:42 drive the dark of doubt away;
07:46 Giver of immortal gladness,
07:50 fill us with the light of day.
07:53 You are the Lord of love
07:56 Thou art giving and forgiving,
08:00 ever blessing, ever blest,
08:03 Wellspring of the joy of living,
08:07 ocean depth of happy rest.
08:10 Thou our Father, Christ our Brother,
08:13 all who live in love are Thine;
08:16 Teach us how to love each other,
08:20 lift us to the Joy Divine.
08:23 You are the Lord of love.
08:35 Ola mi amigos, today we're making beans
08:37 and rice. You don't even have to be Spanish
08:39 to eat this recipe. Let me read the ingredients
08:41 for you. 1 onion, chopped 1 tbsp. of olive oil
08:49 1 14.5oz. can of tomatoes with green chilies
08:54 1 15oz. can of black beans, drained,
08:59 ½ tsp. of dried oregano ½ tsp. of garlic powder
09:06 All purpose vegetable seasoning to taste
09:10 2 cups cooked brown rice.
09:13 Now to save a little bit of time,
09:14 I already have my onions, I'm sauteing in
09:17 the pan over here, and I choose not to
09:19 use oil, but you can use a little bit oil and
09:21 just cook up the onions, and you want the
09:23 onions to look clear when you're done that.
09:25 That way you know that they are cooked
09:27 well enough. Now we're going to go ahead
09:29 and put the beans, the black beans in here,
09:36 and our tomatoes, and then our seasonings.
09:52 You know this recipe is so quick you can,
09:59 if you are in a hurry or if you don't have
10:00 a lot of time, and you're running out the
10:02 door and you need to leave, its really
10:04 easy to put together real quick,
10:06 and you can eat it over rice or just
10:09 even by itself. You just mix it up a little bit
10:13 and then its ready, and over here I have
10:15 some cooked rice, a bowl of cooked rice,
10:17 and I choose to use brown rice,
10:19 because it's a lot more nutritious and
10:20 healthy for you, and you can just put,
10:23 take a little bit of your black beans,
10:27 and tomatoes and just put a little bit
10:29 on top of your rice, your cooked rice.
10:34 Have as much as you want and there's
10:35 lots of things you can put on this,
10:37 I chose to put some lettuce, I love lettuce,
10:42 you've got a healthy meal in here,
10:45 you got everything in it, beans are very
10:47 nutritious for you, tomatoes are nutritious
10:48 for you, and lettuce is very good for
10:51 you also, as well as the rice.
10:53 And a little bit of tofutti sour cream.
10:57 This is tofutti better than sour cream,
10:58 but you can use any kind of non-dairy soy
11:02 sour cream and just a little bit of olives.
11:05 Now if you like chilly peppers or salsa you
11:08 can put salsa on it too. Any kind of different
11:12 thing that you like. That's all. It's so easy
11:18 and simple to make. You can have it just
11:21 like that. Well until next time
11:24 keep cooking and eat healthy.
11:34 Oh your fruit is so good. It's got liquor.
11:38 This is what you got. Apples, I shall get
11:40 something, and what would you like.
11:43 Grapes. Grapes, oh which kind do you want?
11:46 Green. Oh thank you. I'll tell you what
11:50 since you're a special little boy,
11:52 I am going just give these to you.
11:54 Alright, thank you. You're welcome.
11:58 Thank you. Would you like some apples?
12:00 I will sure buy some. One, two.
12:02 Oh two please. Alright, nice. You're not
12:07 gonna charging double now because you gave
12:09 me the grapes for free. Now, I wouldn't
12:11 do that, two dinars. You take two dinars,
12:15 you just keep up the good work.
12:17 I will some hey some cashews.
12:19 Oh no, no thank you. My friend Anna has
12:23 a special on bread. Oh I love specials.
12:26 Oh thank you. Make sure we get.
12:29 Anon how are you doing? Great,
12:32 how are you Mary? Good, are these your
12:34 grand kids. That's my grandson, and this
12:36 is my granddaughter. This is Noah.
12:38 Noah, I see he likes my grapes Anon.
12:42 Right and this Hanna. I will pay for that.
12:46 Oh well thank you sweetie, well that was
12:50 thoughtful of you, but I'll tell you what,
12:52 you can go ahead and kept it,
12:54 I can spare a few grapes. You remind me
12:57 of someone. She reminds me of my niece.
13:01 She was always thoughtful like that doing
13:04 things for others. Oh Hanna is a nice girl.
13:07 She is, I wish my niece was here.
13:10 I know she would like you Hanna.
13:14 Who is your niece, tell us about her.
13:16 My niece, you didn't hear what happened
13:18 to my niece. No. My niece was kidnapped.
13:21 What happened, tell me? The Syrians
13:25 came they, she was out in the field,
13:28 and they just grabbed her and they took
13:31 off before her father and mother could
13:33 even know about it, and we had some spies,
13:37 my brother had some spies go after and
13:40 see what happened, and they found out
13:43 that she was sold to Captain Naaman.
13:47 That is sad. Have you heard about Captain
13:49 Naaman, what happened. No, tell me
13:50 about Captain Naaman. This is how God works.
13:58 Captain Naaman got leprosy, but I am just
14:04 getting ahead of my story. My little niece
14:09 She was such a sweetie. Well I heard
14:12 that she was sold to Captain Naaman,
14:14 and he gave her to his wife for a maid.
14:17 She would sweep and she would help
14:19 them fix meals, and she would do all
14:21 kinds of things. You can go ahead and
14:23 eat that honey, that's just fine.
14:25 He can have all the grapes he can;
14:27 I can spare a few grapes. And I think
14:33 what happened is she loved Jesus so much
14:36 that she told them about the great God
14:39 in heaven, And when Captain Naaman got
14:42 leprosy, she told him to go to the Prophet,
14:47 and you know the Prophet. Yes.
14:50 Well, she told him to go to him and so she
14:54 went to Prophet Elisha, and Elisha and
14:57 when he got there, he took all kinds of
14:59 money, and everything because he thought
15:01 I've got to be cured of my leprosy and I'm
15:03 going to give him money and pay for all
15:05 this because he is a rich man, you know
15:08 Captain Naaman. But you want to pay for
15:10 a service like that. Well, yes, I would
15:12 think so, but you know what you don't
15:15 have to pay for things like that when it's
15:16 our great God in heaven. Oh God heals
15:20 without money. That's right. God is good.
15:23 God is very good. And so when Naaman
15:26 came up to riding up with all his servants
15:29 and soldiers, and Elisha didn't even come out
15:34 to meet him. I heard that he was so
15:39 angry that he was so important,
15:43 the Captain you know and the Prophet
15:46 didn't even come out to meet him.
15:47 He sent his servant Gehazi to come out
15:51 to him, and he told him to go and wash,
15:54 and where do you think he told him to go
15:56 wash at. Well some nice pool.
16:00 The Jordan River. That's a muddy river.
16:04 That's a really bad river, its all muddy.
16:07 No one even swims in it, everybody in
16:09 Israel knows that we wouldn't go
16:11 swimming there. Well he went there and
16:13 he was so, he wouldn't pay. He said I am
16:14 not going and he decided to go back to
16:16 his country leprosy and all. Well he took
16:19 off and his soldiers caught up with him
16:22 and they said, if they asked you do some
16:25 great thing, wouldn't you have done it,
16:29 but this is just simple, just wash and
16:31 be clean. Well, he looked at his leprosy
16:35 and it was pretty bad. And I tell you
16:37 what if I had leprosy, I'd want to try
16:39 something too. I'd try anything too.
16:42 I would too. So I heard that he went back
16:46 to that river, and he got in the middle
16:49 of it, yucky stuff all over him.
16:52 He ducked down, oh it smells so bad,
16:55 and he went down one time, two times,
16:59 three times, because the Prophet said it
17:01 had to be seven. Seven. Four times,
17:04 five times, six times, seven times, do you
17:06 know what happened then? What,
17:08 I bet he was healed. Exactly he came
17:11 up and his skin was like a baby's skin,
17:15 it looked just like this as smooth and soft
17:19 as Noah skin. That was because Elisha's
17:23 God healed him. That's right, and that
17:26 was so exciting and he was so excited.
17:29 He went back to his country, and little
17:35 maid and the maiden, I heard this because
17:40 one of our spies told us, they knelt down
17:44 and thanked Jesus, the great God of
17:46 heaven for the great healing that he did.
17:50 And I couldn't believe it, my own precious
17:54 niece was, went to another country and
17:57 instead of being upset and crying all the
18:01 time, she did something else, she shared
18:05 about the great God in heaven. Oh Kids.
18:09 What a story. It is. I hope you always
18:12 remember to share about our God,
18:14 because we've go to tell everybody about
18:16 our God. We need to tell everyone
18:18 about God. He is the only God.
18:21 Oh thank you for bringing your grand kids
18:23 around Anon. That was so special,
18:25 if you don't mind. Isn't that a great story
18:27 Hanna. Yes. I want to give, you want
18:30 grapes, have an apples Anon.
18:32 Thank you Mary. Would you like some
18:34 grapes honey, there you go.
18:37 God bless you all. Can you thank Mary.
18:39 Thank you. You are welcome, precious and
18:42 you come and see me sometime, okay.
18:44 I will. Okay, bye sweetie. Bye bye.
19:06 God is so good, God is so good,
19:18 God is so good, He is so good to me,
19:29 He died for me, he died for me,
19:40 He died for me, he is so good to me,
19:52 I love him so, I love him so, I love him so,
20:07 He is so good to me, He is coming soon,
20:20 he is coming soon, He is coming
20:28 soon, he is so good to me.
20:47 Hi boys and girls, it's time for Miss Brenda's
20:49 book of the day. Today I have chosen for
20:53 you Detective Zack, and the Mystery of
20:56 Thunder Mountain, and its by Jerry D. Thomas.
21:00 It says when things at the Cherokee cabin
21:02 start disappearing. Zack and the rest of
21:05 Thunder Mountain camp companions have
21:07 no doubt who the thieves are, that gang
21:10 in the Mohawk cabin are the roughest
21:12 bunch of street thefts this summer camp
21:14 has ever seen. They lie, they cuss,
21:16 they hide cigarettes in their bags and Cody
21:18 has even bragged about burning down
21:20 a building. What are they doing at a Christian
21:22 camp anyway? Strange things keep
21:25 happening and detective Zack with the help
21:27 of her sister Kayla and his friend Ally set
21:30 traps after trap to foil the Mohawks,
21:34 but nothing works. An accident on the
21:37 road bridge brings the boys together and
21:39 later while performing a scene about
21:41 crucifixion, something wonderful happens
21:44 that even catches Zack by surprise.
21:47 Zack's toughest case will change his life
21:49 and help him prove that people who
21:51 believe in the Bible ought to be different,
21:54 and that's right we should, shouldn't we.
21:56 So I can, what do you think happened,
21:58 you're going to have to read this book,
21:59 Detective Zack and the Mystery of Thunder
22:01 Mountain. Well right now boys and girls,
22:04 I have a letter that I like to read you
22:06 but you know what instead of reading it
22:08 to you why don't we just call up this person
22:12 and we'll see what they have to say on
22:14 the phone, okay. Lets go to Elizabeth,
22:17 hi Elizabeth, are you there, Yeah.
22:21 Elizabeth, I got your letter, and I'm so
22:23 happy to hear from you and to see your
22:25 pretty picture here. Can you tell me
22:27 where are you from Elizabeth.
22:29 I am from Kent, Oregon. Oregon,
22:32 that's quite a way from Southern Illinois,
22:34 isn't it. how old are you. I am eight years old.
22:38 You're eight years old. Can you tell me what
22:41 do you do to share Jesus? I tell my friends
22:47 about Jesus and I bring them to church.
22:54 Well that's a good thing, what kind of things,
22:55 when you say you tell your friends about
22:57 Jesus. What kind of things do you tell them.
22:59 I tell them that Jesus died on the cross
23:03 and he did for us. And what does your friends
23:07 say when you tell them that. They said it
23:10 really cool. Oh what's your friend name.
23:14 Elisa Brook. Elisa, and she really likes going
23:17 to church with you. Well, you have to keep
23:20 praying for her, will you, and you just keep
23:21 encouraging her to come to church,
23:23 will you. Yeah. Well I am so glad,
23:25 I am so excited I had a chance to talk
23:27 with you today Elizabeth, and I want you
23:29 to keep watching Kids Time. What's your
23:30 favorite part of Kids Time. Okay.
23:34 Did you hear me? Yeah. What's your
23:36 favorite part of Kids Time? Nature.
23:41 Nature Time, you know I like Nature Time
23:42 too with Ranger Jim, don't you. Alright,
23:45 well thank you so much Elizabeth.
23:48 Keep sharing Jesus, okay. Okay. Alright,
23:51 bye bye now. Bye. Wasn't that nice
23:53 to talk to Elizabeth. Boys and girls if you
23:55 would like to talk to me on Sharing Time,
23:57 make sure when you write that you put
23:58 your phone number in there, and who knows
24:00 I might be calling you. Alright, let's see
24:03 I have an email I like to read to you.
24:05 It says dear Miss Brenda, my daughter
24:07 and I absolutely love your program.
24:09 We watch it via satellite, and we love
24:11 to hear the songs that the children sing,
24:13 and also listen to the stories about Jesus.
24:16 It says my daughter especially likes the
24:18 Nature Time. We try to share Jesus with our
24:21 friends, family and neighbors whenever
24:22 we can, and wherever we go. I believe
24:25 that the activity books and the Bible studies
24:28 will help my daughter learn more about Jesus.
24:30 Could you please send her one.
24:32 Thank you so much, Margarita.
24:34 And yes we would. Lets see I have a
24:36 colorful letter over here, and lets see
24:38 what's in this one. We have oh we have
24:41 a pretty looking rose, isn't that pretty
24:43 boys and girls, a nice little rose right there,
24:46 I'll put it right on my knee. And it says
24:51 dear Miss Brenda, I hope you are fine,
24:54 my name is Tasio, and I'm fourteen years
24:57 old. I am member of the New Haven Church
25:00 in Jamaica. Says I love Jesus a lot,
25:03 and I tell other about Jesus a lot.
25:06 And it says I do it by drawing things and
25:08 pictures about Jesus. Miss Brenda,
25:11 could you please pray for me because I'm
25:13 going to have a heart operation.
25:15 Oh Tasio, it said please pray for me.
25:18 This will be my third operation.
25:21 I'm thanking God for giving me life.
25:23 Please send me a Kids Time activity book.
25:26 Brenda, I am a Seventh-Day Adventist,
25:28 and I love Jesus, and my mother's name
25:30 is Brenda too, your truly Tasio.
25:33 And I'm going to bend his letter right here,
25:35 so you can see his picture right here,
25:38 can you see that, and there's Tasio,
25:40 and you know what boys and girls I want
25:42 you to just say a special prayer for Tasio,
25:45 for his heart operation and that Jesus
25:47 will be his great physician. Can you do
25:49 that because there's a lot of power in
25:51 prayer, and also I want you to pray
25:53 that Jesus will come for Tasio. Lets just
25:55 look at his drawing, that he's drawn for
25:57 us right here. It says he has got John,
26:00 yes I do, and it has there come to church
26:03 and he's inviting him to come to church,
26:05 and she is Mary, so he draws pictures about
26:08 Jesus and gives them to people,
26:09 isn't that nice. Well that's all the time we
26:12 have today boys and girls, I wanna thank you
26:14 for spending this time with us, and I want
26:16 you to encourage to witness for Jesus.
26:18 You know Jesus is coming soon boys and girls,
26:20 and I want you to remember that
26:21 its Kids Time to share Jesus.
