00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:09 it's time to share there's a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:25 Hi boys and girls, do you know what 00:26 it means to owe a debt. It means that you 00:29 owe something to someone. Now sometimes 00:31 people talk about a debt like that 00:32 they owe and they just really mean they owe 00:34 someone a favor. But most debts these days 00:37 are serious promises to repay money that 00:39 has been borrowed. Now maybe the money was 00:42 borrowed to build a house or buy a car 00:44 or even clothes and food. Some people borrow 00:47 money to start a new business or to pay huge 00:50 medical bills. You can face serious consequences 00:53 if you failed to repay money you 00:55 have borrowed. Now an unpaid debt can cause 00:58 huge problems for you and your entire family. 01:01 But God recognizes this, and so do you know 01:04 he tells us in the Bible that we should owe 01:06 no man anything, that's just great advice from 01:09 the God who made us and who wants only 01:11 what's best for us isn't it. But the Bible 01:14 does tell the story of a woman who found 01:16 herself in debt, and she probably hadn't even 01:20 done anything to create the debt. 01:21 Her husband had died, leaving her alone 01:23 to repay the family bills, and she didn't know 01:26 what to do, she had no money, she had no job, 01:29 all she had was a son. Now she might be able 01:33 to sell him into slavery to clear the 01:34 family name. Aren't you glad that your parents 01:37 don't have to sell you into slavery to pay 01:39 their mortgages and their credit card bills? 01:42 What a terrible thing that would be, 01:44 wouldn't it? But this woman thought 01:46 she had no other choice but to sell her son. 01:49 Now I can only image how frightened 01:51 and brokenhearted she must to felt to even 01:53 think about selling her only son. 01:55 And then she remembered the Prophet of God 01:58 and she wondered if maybe just maybe 02:00 he might be able to help her. 02:02 but you know what we're gonna find out 02:04 what happened to this poor woman 02:06 and to her son in our Bible story today. 02:08 But right now lets spent some time 02:10 with Emily out in the garden. 02:31 Well, hey there boys and girls, 02:34 I've been waiting for you in my garden 02:36 for all day long. Welcome to Garden Time. 02:40 Today I was hiding behind this big 02:42 silver plant, it's called a cardoon, and you know 02:46 what I was looking for. I was using my big 02:49 handy magnifying glass to look for all the 02:52 garden pests and garden friends that live 02:55 in all these big plants. Now you know the best 02:58 time to look for garden pests and garden 03:00 friends is in the early morning because 03:03 there's a lot of insects and bugs and birds 03:06 that live in the gardens that like to hang out 03:09 in the cooler part to the day. 03:11 So, here I am with my big magnifying glass 03:13 and one really great way to look for bugs 03:16 and all the friends and pest is under the sides 03:20 of the leaves. And what you wanna do if you 03:23 just wanna take your big magnifying glass 03:25 and see if you can see anything. 03:28 Now I just saw some of that friends 03:31 in your plants that you might find is a lady bug. 03:34 Now lady bugs are really great to have in your 03:36 gardens because they eat all the bad insects 03:38 that you don't want in your gardens. 03:40 Another great thing to have is a butterfly. 03:43 They're so beautiful, flying around your 03:46 garden, and they add a lot a color. 03:49 Now there are a few things that you do not 03:52 want in your garden and that's specially 03:55 what I was looking for you today. 03:56 This morning I was in my hosta bed. 03:59 Now a hosta is a perennial that likes 04:02 to grow in the shade and it's got big leaves. 04:04 But you know what boys and girls 04:06 it's getting really noisy here, do you hear 04:08 all that noise. Well it's because my garden 04:11 is in the middle of a big city and that's doesn't 04:14 even all the noise doesn't even scare 04:16 all the bugs away, so that's why I have my 04:18 trusty magnifying glass to look for all that 04:21 icky bugs that are growing on my plants. 04:23 And you know what boys and girls in my hosta, 04:26 guess what I found? I found two holes 04:30 on one of my leaves, one of my leaves. 04:32 Now, I just don't know what to do and you know 04:37 what boys and girls, the insect that leaves 04:40 holes on its leaves are called slugs and snails 04:43 and they're really bad because they like to 04:45 hang out on the leaves early in the morning 04:47 and late at night and they chew big holes 04:50 in your leaves, you see all these big holes 04:52 in your leaves. Yeah, well if you have those 04:55 what you need to do is you need to get 04:57 a spray bottle, and you need to put a little bit 04:59 of dish soap and shake it up and spray 05:02 it all over your plant because bugs that 05:04 are icky for your garden do not like the taste 05:07 of soap and as soon as that soap hits him 05:09 they won't like that at all. It's just like eating 05:12 something you don't like. Now the other thing 05:14 I found in my garden boys and girls. 05:17 I was looking down in my shade garden 05:19 and I found this. Now look, at first glance 05:23 you would think this is a really, really pretty 05:25 design right on this leave. 05:27 Well actually it's not, it's not good for 05:30 your plants at all. The insect that's called 05:32 a leaf-miner made this in the leaf of a 05:35 columbine plants and what happens is that the 05:38 eggs hatch in between the leaves and the larvae 05:41 spread out to make these really kind of neat 05:43 designs in your leaves. This happens to a lot 05:47 of plants in the shade. Well boys and girls, 05:51 now I encourage to everyone to get out 05:53 there and look in the morning with their big 05:55 magnifying glass. The best time to find the 05:58 bugs and birds and bees in your garden 06:00 is early in the morning and I hope you learned 06:02 some of the insects that you find are helpful 06:04 and some of them are harmful. 06:06 And I encourage to everyone to 06:08 sow the seed of God's love. 06:22 And then shall the kingdom of heaven 06:23 be likened unto ten virgins, which took 06:26 their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom. 06:28 And five of them were wise and five were foolish. 06:31 They that were foolish took their lamps 06:33 but took no oil with them. But they that 06:36 were wise took oil in their vessels 06:38 with their lamps, Matthew 25:1-4. 06:45 Give me oil in my lamp, Keep me burning, 06:50 Give me oil in my lamp, I pray. Hallelujah. 06:54 Give me oil in my lamp, Keep me burning, 06:59 Keep me burning Till the break of day. 07:03 Sing hosanna! Sing hosanna! 07:08 Sing hosanna to the King of Kings! 07:12 Sing hosanna! Sing hosanna! 07:17 Sing hosanna to the King! 07:21 Make me fishers of men, keep me seeking 07:25 Make me fishers of men I pray, hallelujah! 07:30 Make me fishers of men, keep me seeking, 07:34 Keep me seeking 'til Jesus comes again. 07:39 Sing hosanna! Sing hosanna! 07:43 Sing hosanna to the King of Kings! 07:48 Sing hosanna! Sing hosanna! 07:52 Sing hosanna to the King! 08:05 Hi, do you want a quick and easy healthy 08:07 snack that you can eat any time. 08:09 Well today we're making pumpkin pecan 08:11 snack cake. I'm gonna go ahead 08:13 and read the recipe for you. 08:16 2 tbsp. of flaxseeds. 1/3 cup of water. 08:21 1 1/4 cup of soy milk. 1 tbsp. of lemon juice. 08:27 3/4 cup of pumpkin puree. 1 1/4 cup of canola oil. 08:33 1½ tsp. of vanilla. 1 cup of unbleached flour. 08:39 3/4 cup of whole wheat pastry flour. 08:44 2 tsp. of cinnamon. 1 3/4 tsp. of baking powder. 08:50 ½ tsp. of baking soda. ½ tsp. of salt. 08:56 1 tsp. ground ginger. ½ tsp. of nutmeg. 09:02 3/4 cup of chopped dates. 09:06 1 cup pecans-chopped and toasted. 09:09 3/4 cup of Pure Florida Crystals. 09:13 And for the Glaze: 09:14 ½ cup of Powdered Pure Florida Crystals. 09:18 ½ tsp. of almond extract, and 09:21 1 Tbsp. of water. 09:24 Now to start I have our soy milk 09:26 and you're just gonna take the lemon juice 09:28 and pour it in to your soy milk, and what 09:30 that does is it makes it kind of like a better 09:35 texture, kind of like a buttermilk, 09:37 but since buttermilk's not good for us or milk. 09:39 We use the lemon juice to make it a better 09:41 texture just whisk it up or stir it up just 09:43 a little bit. Now, we're gonna take out 09:46 wet ingredients, our pumpkin, pour that 09:51 in and our oil, now you're gonna save the 09:56 soy milk for last, so that it can set 09:58 a little bit, so it will be ready when you put 10:01 in and also our flaxseed, and the 10:04 flaxseed what I've done is I've already 10:07 put them in a blender and mixed, 10:08 and blended them all up and then put 10:10 a little bit of water in there, so you get 10:12 kind of a, this kind of pastry texture. 10:19 And our Florida Crystals and our vanilla, 10:28 and then last you're gonna add your soy milk 10:30 that you mixed with the lemon juice. 10:36 We're gonna mix those wet ingredients up. 10:39 Now I split apart, again I split apart the 10:43 wet and dry, it just makes it so it's even 10:46 when you or everything's, that way 10:48 you don't get pumpkin at one bite of the snack 10:52 cake you make, and not enough pumpkin 10:54 in another you get it pretty much mixed up, 10:57 I'm gonna pour in your flour and to save 10:59 sometime I've already mixed up all the 11:01 different flours, the whole wheat pastry flour 11:04 and with the seasonings. That way I'm gonna 11:07 a little bit of time. We're gonna put in, 11:09 this is the flour and the seasonings all 11:11 mixed together. We mixed that up too. 11:18 Now I also have nuts and dates to put in here, 11:22 and if you don't like dates or you don't likes 11:24 nuts you don't need to put them in 11:27 or you can use different kind of nut, 11:29 there's all different kinds of nuts 11:30 and my favorites are these pecans but 11:35 you could use walnuts or anything that 11:37 you really like and if you don't like the dates 11:39 I know that a lot of people don't like dates 11:41 and if you don't like them you don't need 11:43 to put him so don't worry about those. 11:45 We get those pretty much mixed up, 11:47 you're gonna wanna add your nuts 11:52 and also your dates and mix those in too, 11:59 okay. Now I already have a 9/13 pan ready, 12:07 and you're gonna take your non-stick cooking 12:09 spray and spray the pan, otherwise if you don't 12:14 spray it, it's going to get, it's gonna stick 12:18 to the pan. You're gonna pour this mixture 12:20 into the pan and smooth it out 12:23 and you're gonna bake it at 350 degrees for 12:27 about 20 to 35, 20 to 30 minutes. 12:29 Now if the test is just take a toothpick 12:33 and if the toothpick comes out clean then 12:35 you know that's it ready but if it comes 12:37 with stuff on it it's not ready it's gonna need 12:39 a little bit more time. Well I already 12:41 have some snack cake made for you, 12:43 so you can see what it looks like. 12:46 Isn't that beautiful? Now, for the glaze over 12:51 the top what's you're gonna do is you're gonna 12:53 take Florida Sugar Crystals, put a little bit 12:57 of almond extract in it, and put in your water 13:00 and the sugar crystals you're gonna blend, 13:02 so they look kind of like this in the powder 13:04 and you're gonna add that stuff in to the 13:06 baggy and you can just snip the end off 13:08 with the scissors, you don't need much 13:09 and you can squeeze it on and glaze it, 13:11 it's real easy. And these are delicious 13:14 and easy to make even the glaze. 13:16 Well until next time remember to 13:18 keep cooking and eat healthy. 13:31 Good morning Silas. Good morning Peter, 13:34 I'm just about waiting for the shoppers to come in. 13:36 Yeah, well I still need to get ready here 13:39 but you know I have the most interesting 13:42 shopper yesterday. Tell me about it. 13:45 Well you know the widow of Galio, 13:47 who lives here in town. Yes. Yeah, 13:49 well her husband just died of course 13:53 and apparently he had racked up his debt 13:57 with this man who is gonna come and collect, 14:00 and if she couldn't pay, then her sons 14:05 were gonna be sold into slavery. Wow! 14:09 That's a terrible thing; she's a good 14:10 customer of mine. Absolutely terrible, 14:13 so I said her what did you do? 14:16 And she said well tell you what I went over 14:19 to the Prophet Elisha. But what could Elisha do? 14:22 That's what I said and she said what he told me 14:27 was what do you have in your house 14:30 and she says all I've got is a little bit of oil 14:33 and so he prayed to God and God gave him 14:37 the answer just like that. God gave Elisha 14:40 the answer. God gave Elisha the answer. 14:43 Elisha said take that little bit of oil and put 14:47 it in pots that you borrowed from all of 14:50 your friends and neighbors and I said 14:53 how is that little bit of oil gonna fill all 14:55 those pots. Yeah, how's that gonna happen. 14:58 Well apparently she did just as Elisha said 15:03 and it filled all of the pots. 15:05 Wow I hope she got a lot of them. 15:07 She did and she sold that oil and was able 15:11 to pay the debt and also her sons were 15:14 able to live off of what she made. 15:17 Well that's a great story Peter. 15:19 Isn't that amazing? That is amazing. 15:22 I just couldn't believe it, I was so happy 15:24 for with widow of Galio. Yeah. 15:27 Well so her sons continue to live with her. 15:30 That's right, God is such a blessing to 15:34 everybody who believes. And does what he says. 15:37 Absolutely. Isn't that a great story? 15:40 That is a wonderful story. Well, we hope 15:42 we have more stories today. Yes, the shoppers 15:46 will be in soon. That's right we need to 15:48 be get ready for them. Hope they get here. 16:05 For God, who commanded the light 16:09 to shine out of darkness, 16:12 hath shined in our hearts, 16:19 to give the light of the knowledge 16:23 of the glory of God 16:27 in the face of Jesus Christ. 16:35 For we have this treasure in earthen vessels 16:43 that the excellency of the power 16:50 may be of God, and not of us 16:58 2nd Corinthians 4:6-9 says 17:05 we are troubled in every side, 17:08 but not distressed; we are perplexed, 17:15 but not in despair; Persecuted but not 17:24 forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. 17:41 For God who commanded the light 17:45 to shine out of darkness, 17:49 hath shined in our hearts, 17:56 to give the light of the knowledge 18:00 of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 18:14 2nd Corinthians 4:6-9, 6-9 18:43 Hi boys and girls, it's time for Miss Brenda's 18:46 book of the day, and my choice for you today 18:49 is Shoebox Kids Bible Stories by 18:52 Jerry D. Thomas book 4. And the Shoebox Kids, 18:57 they find that their Bible stories have a strange 18:59 way of fitting into things that happen to them 19:01 everyday. Said each week brings a new adventure 19:04 in learning what the Bible means in real life 19:06 at home, at school, and at the playground. 19:10 It said the Bible stories in this book start 19:12 with Joshua getting tricked by the 19:13 Gideonites and they include Samson 19:15 the strongest man in the world and they end 19:18 with David, Goliath and Jonathan. 19:20 The Shoebox Kids stories that go along 19:22 with those with from Bibles start with 19:24 Sammy's trouble with Pete the pest. 19:26 Oh I wonder who he is. Says include a shoving 19:28 match at recess. Now that doesn't sound good 19:31 and Willy's big fat zero. Said questions 19:35 at the end of each chapter make sharing 19:37 Bible lessons interesting and fun. So I think 19:40 you're gonna really want to read this book, 19:41 that's Shoebox Kids Bible Stories book 4. 19:45 Well right now I was thinking about reading 19:48 some emails but before I read the emails to you. 19:52 You know what I have somebody on the phone 19:53 and I like to talk with him just a minute. 19:56 I have John all the way from Pecos, Texas. 19:59 Hi, John.
