00:06 there, looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:10 it's time to share there's a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls, I like to tell you about 00:27 my friend's little boy. Now he didn't like 00:29 to give back his tithes and his offering to 00:31 Jesus and every time his mother encouraged 00:34 him to give his tithes and offerings. 00:35 Do you know what he would do? 00:36 He would thrown himself down on the floor 00:39 and he would just cry and cry and cry, 00:42 he did not want to give away his money. 00:44 Well I'm happy to tell you that he did learn 00:47 to be cheerful giver and to understand that 00:49 you know God really richly blesses us when 00:52 we give with a happy heart, and his mother 00:55 is so happy that little boy is recovering 00:57 from that terrible sickness called greed. 01:01 You see God can heal not only our physical 01:05 diseases but he also can heal our spiritual 01:07 diseases such as selfishness and greed 01:11 and anger and pride and impatience and even 01:14 discouragement. Now I'm sure you didn't know 01:17 those were disease did you. But they are 01:20 and they are much more serious then physical 01:22 diseases such as meningitis or cancer or 01:25 heart attacks or typhoid fever even. 01:28 They are more dangerous because they 01:30 threaten our eternal lives and not just our 01:33 physical lives here on earth. Now our Bible 01:36 story today as about a young man who didn't 01:37 even know he was sick with greed, 01:39 he was a very powerful and important man 01:42 in his day, he probably thought that Jesus 01:44 should be glad to have such a follower like him. 01:48 But just like Jesus can look in to our bodies 01:50 and see our physical diseases he can also 01:53 look into our hearts and he sees our Spiritual 01:56 diseases and he wants us to come to him for 01:59 healing but some times we don't want to 02:02 be healed, sometimes we love our sin more 02:05 than we love Jesus. Well that makes Jesus 02:08 very sad, it makes me sad too. The young man 02:12 in our story today he had that problem and 02:15 I can't wait for you to hear it, 02:16 but first we're gonna go to the garden and 02:19 see what Emily has to share with us today. 02:32 Hey Abbey and Aaron, your already here, 02:34 welcome to Garden time. Today boys and 02:37 girls, we're gonna talk about plant parts 02:40 and a plant has about 3 main parts but wow 02:44 do you hear all that noise in the background, 02:47 do you hear all that noise? Well, 02:50 boys and girls my garden's in a big city so 02:52 there is a lot of noise, trucks, there is 02:55 lawnmower cutting grass right now so it's 02:57 really noise but it's a perfect day to be outside 03:00 learning about different parts of a plant. 03:03 The first part that we're gonna talk about are 03:05 the roots. Now, do you guys see the roots 03:08 on these plants. No. No. No. Why not? 03:11 'Cause they're in the ground. 03:13 'Cause they're in the ground, 03:14 my garden helpers are very smart, 03:17 to show you what roots looks like I am 03:19 gonna take one of my plants that I have 03:21 inside and I am gonna pop up these pots 03:25 and look at all these roots boys and girls, 03:28 look Abbey and Aaron. Wow. 03:30 These are the roots of a plant and you know 03:32 these roots are very healthy if you know 03:34 how I can tell. Because these roots what 03:36 color are they. They're white. 03:39 These roots are white that means that 03:40 there's a lot of air circulation going on in 03:43 there and if the roots are very white they're 03:46 very healthy, if you have brown roots that 03:48 probably means that they had too much water 03:50 and they didn't have enough air to grow 03:52 healthy. And also do you know what's really, 03:57 do you want to hold this for me Abbey. 03:58 Okay, thank you. The roots are very 04:00 important boys and girls, because once they 04:02 get in the ground they spread out and they 04:05 are the ones that get all the waters and the 04:07 nutrients out of the soil for the plants to grow 04:10 big and healthy and strong. The next part, 04:13 lets see, Aaron, can you tell me what these 04:15 are? Leaves. Leaves, see all these leaves 04:19 boys and girls. The nice green leaves, 04:22 leaves are very important because they 04:24 turn the sunlight into energy and without 04:27 energy plants can't grow. Now the last 04:31 thing that I see here on the plant are these 04:34 beautiful, what are these? Flowers. 04:36 Beautiful flowers, look at all these beautiful 04:39 colors that are on all of these geraniums. 04:42 Now the flowers are very, very important 04:44 because not only do the make the plant 04:47 very, very bright and colorful but they're 04:49 also heart of the plant that produces the 04:52 seed for more plants to keep reproducing. 04:56 There's one more thing that I want to 04:58 mention that this garden is missing and 05:00 that's if you look there's a whole bunch of 05:03 soil down here 'cause we just planted these 05:05 geraniums a couple of days ago in my 05:06 garden but one thing that every gardener 05:09 wants to put on their garden is mulch, 05:12 you guys see this, now what mulch does is 05:15 actually like a blanket in your garden and 05:18 all you do is you want to take a couple of 05:20 handfuls and you want a little bit Aaron? 05:23 Okay so we're gonna take a little bit of 05:24 mulch and we're gonna, you just put it 05:27 around your plants. Can you guys put that 05:30 around your plant, Abbey, can you put 05:31 that right up here for me. And what you 05:34 want to do is you want to put mulch down 05:36 about 2 to 3 inches thick and what this is 05:39 really gonna do for your garden it's gonna 05:41 hold the moisture into the soil and it's also 05:43 gonna help minimize the amount of weeds 05:45 you get in your garden. Because a weed 05:48 is any unwanted plant that we don't want and 05:50 by putting a good layer of mulch down it's 05:53 gonna help trap the lights from those weeds 05:55 growing. Well boys and girls just like us all the 06:00 plant parts work together to become a big 06:02 healthy plant. I encourage you every 06:05 day to soy the seed of God's love. 06:17 Do you like going for a walk in nature 06:19 I love see now go inside of beautiful mountain. 06:23 And the chipping birds of the world to see, 06:26 the smell of new weekend grass, 06:28 I think more things are able to act like these 06:31 things do. He loved to say I am going to 06:34 take early morning walking I am going out to 06:36 my father's world. He was a gifted and 06:39 powerful preacher in and out, and a great 06:42 love of nature, I think that is why he talks 06:45 about so much in the song This Is My Father's World. 06:59 This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears 07:07 all nature sings, and round me rings 07:12 the music of the spheres. This is my Father's world: 07:20 I rest me in the thought 07:24 of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; 07:29 his hand the wonders wrought. 07:37 This is my Father's world, 07:41 the birds their carols raise, 07:45 the morning light, the lily white, 07:50 declare their maker's praise. 07:54 This is my Father's world: 07:58 he shines in all that's fair; 08:02 in the rustling grass I hear him pass; 08:06 he speaks to me everywhere. 08:25 Have you ever gone sick of eating just 08:26 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on picnics. 08:28 Well, today we have something a little different 08:30 for you. Now, there is not anything wrong 08:33 with eating peanut butter and jelly, 08:34 but sometimes some thing new is good and 08:37 today we're making some thing delicious, 08:39 we're making Black Bean Burgers. Let me 08:41 go ahead and read the recipe for you. 08:44 3 tsp. of Canola oil 08:49 1 small onion, chopped. 08:52 1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded & chopped. 08:58 3 cloves of garlic. ½ tsp. ground cumin. 09:02 1/4 tsp. turmeric. 2 Tbsp. ketchup. 09:08 1 ½ cups cooked or canned black beans drained 09:13 and rinsed. 1 cup of cooked white or brown rice. 09:18 2 cups of fresh or dried bread crumbs. 09:21 ½ tsp. salt. ½ tsp. hot sauce. 09:28 Now when we start we're gonna start 09:29 with ours peppers and our onions and our 09:31 garlic and to save some time I already had 09:35 them chopped up for you and what I did I 09:38 put them in a saucepan and you can either 09:40 use oil, a little bit of canola oil or you can 09:44 use water like I did, I like to use the water 09:46 and it's half a cup and you put it in the 09:48 saucepan you're gonna cook them altogether 09:50 and so the onions look clear and, 09:55 when they look clear, when you're done 09:57 you take them out of the saucepan and put 10:04 them in this food processor, like this and 10:10 get them all out. Now you can put, 10:22 get them all mixed up. Just for a second until 10:29 they're kind of blended in there and next 10:32 I'm gonna go ahead and put in the 10:34 seasonings. Now it doesn't really matter 10:36 which ones you put in or what do you do, 10:39 they're all going in the same thing. 10:40 I am putting the ketchup, you can also 10:46 put you know like I said before it doesn't 10:48 really matter, you can put the beans and 10:50 all that other stuff in too. The turmeric, 10:57 the cumin, the salt and also the hot sauce, 11:05 now you can use a any kind of hot sauce 11:07 just get your favorite to use, put this 11:12 back on and mix it up again, wrong one. 11:26 Just enough till it's all mixed up, you really 11:27 don't need to time it or anything, 11:30 it's little bit blended, we put in our black 11:34 beans. Now, I've already rinsed and 11:35 drained these black beans you just them 11:39 in a strainer and rinse them off and drained 11:46 it all out, in a rice. Mix it up one more time, 12:03 just until it looks blended up and mixed, 12:07 that you can take it off and you're gonna 12:11 put everything you have in here into the bowl. 12:21 Mix like this, be careful when your, 12:27 with these with your blade, you don't 12:28 want it to come out into your bowl, 12:36 get most of it out. Okay, now when you 12:46 get all that you're gonna add your 12:54 bread crumbs, mix those up. Now when 13:03 you get these all mixed up you're gonna 13:04 form them into patties and put on them 13:06 a cookie sheet that you spread with non 13:10 stick cooking spray and then you're 13:12 gonna baked them at 375 until they're 13:15 golden brown on both sides and you're 13:16 gonna wanna flip them halfway in between. 13:18 Now, I have a finished product to show you. 13:27 Now, you can serve them with just by 13:30 themselves and you can see how nice 13:32 this patty look nice and round and you can 13:35 serve them just like that plain with thumbs 13:37 of mash potatoes or something like that 13:40 or you can serve them on a bun, 13:42 which is my favorite way to serve it and 13:44 you can put any of your favorite condiments 13:46 on it, lettuce or tomatoes or ketchup or 13:48 anything like that, now doesn't that just look 13:50 good enough to eat? Yeah I am just worried 14:37 about his if he is be gonna follower of 14:40 Jesus or not. Why? Well remember last 14:42 week when Jesus wasn't found. Yes. 14:45 Thomas and I went listen to him. Yes. 14:47 And this was the day the kids came up 14:49 to Jesus with request. Yeah. 14:50 Well you know how all the disciples thought 14:52 Jesus was too important to be bothered 14:53 by it, I think they're trying to shoo the kids 14:55 away Jesus. Yeah. He finally said, no, no, 14:56 no stop let the little kids come to me 14:59 because the kingdom of heaven belongs to 15:01 little ones like this. Right. And then all the 15:03 mothers brought there kids up Jesus laid 15:05 his hands on them. Bless them. Prayed for 15:07 them, he blessed them that's right even 15:08 had some fun playing with my son 15:10 tickling some of the little kids, 15:12 they were trying to play duck duck goose 15:13 with Jesus, they were having a great time. 15:15 Well what Jesus said about the kingdom 15:17 of heaven belonging to little ones like 15:18 this got Thomas thinking and so when the 15:21 kids left he went up to the Jesus and he 15:24 said good teacher, what do I have to do 15:27 to inherit eternal life. That's a good question. 15:30 Absolutely a good question, probably 15:31 the most important question we can ask. 15:33 The most. Jesus said to him why do you 15:35 call me good, there's no one good but God 15:37 alone. Right. Apparently Jesus was trying 15:40 to get Thomas to realize that he is God. 15:43 He is God. Right. The Jesus is God. 15:45 But Thomas wasn't quite thinking on those 15:46 lines and the Jesus said you know what 15:49 the commandment say honor your father 15:52 and your mother. Don't kill, don't steal, 15:55 don't covet and Thomas said I've been 15:57 keeping the commandments ever since I was 15:59 high, he said what else do I need, Jesus? 16:03 That's a good question. Yeah. And Jesus said. 16:06 He's done it all. He's done it all so it 16:07 seems Jesus said but you left one thing 16:10 Thomas. What is that? He said go home sell 16:13 it all, all that you have. He's got a horse. 16:16 And give it to the poor, he is got a lot 16:18 of stuff. He is got a horse. That's right, 16:20 you can imagine that hit Thomas like a 16:22 ton of bricks. Sell it all. Sell it all, 16:25 he just couldn't find them doing that he 16:27 just kind dejected walked away from the 16:29 Jesus and as he left, the disciples watched 16:32 them go and they said well Jesus if the 16:34 rich can't get into the kingdom of heaven 16:36 who can exactly. The Jesus said it is 16:40 easier for a camel to go through the eye 16:42 of a needle then for a rich person to get 16:44 into heaven. We know we can't do that. 16:46 That camel can't get in and if you're 16:47 dependenting on what you have to get 16:50 into heaven you arn't gonna make it, 16:51 it's impossible. But Jesus said that if we 16:54 were willing to give up every thing we have 16:56 our land, our money, our possession even 16:59 our families, that in heaven we would be 17:02 rewarded a hundred times more than what 17:04 we have in this life. What a thought. 17:06 What a thought, who would wanna hang 17:08 onto it every thing we have now if we. 17:10 Wait a minute. Get more later. 17:12 Get rid of it. But Thomas he is just not 17:14 quite at that point yet and I am worried 17:16 that he is going led his thing here. 17:19 Keep him occupied, instead of following Jesus. 17:22 You need to go and talk to him and encourage 17:24 him. I do. Understand what Jesus meant. 17:27 And I hope that he can understand that 17:30 just like the little kids brought nothing to 17:32 Jesus they had nothing to give Jesus that 17:35 they just came to him in simple faith and 17:36 love that's all it takes to be accepted by 17:39 Jesus. Right. He doesn't care what we 17:41 have. He doesn't need our wealth, 17:43 does he. That's right he cares about who 17:44 we are. Right and that we're willing to follow 17:48 him. Absolutely. That's what he says. 17:51 You know what I feel so encourage by what 17:53 you are just being saying here to me. 17:54 You need to go talk. That's right and the animals 22:19 won't hurt us when we get to heaven you can 22:20 tell other people about heaven can't you. 22:24 Well that's wonderful, I thank you for your 22:25 letter but you know what you also sent me 22:27 a picture of your brother Daniel as he 22:29 there were we can talk to him a few minutes. 22:31 Yeah I will go get him, just a minute. 22:35 Wasn't that nice boys and girls you get 22:37 to actually hear Elizabeth when she is 22:39 talking and this is Daniel we're gonna talk 22:41 to him in just a few minutes she went to 22:42 go get him on the phone can you.
