It's time to share there is a world out 00:00:03.47\00:00:06.14 there looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:00:06.23\00:00:09.61 it's time to share there is a world out 00:00:10.34\00:00:12.97 there looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:00:13.12\00:00:14.09 it's time to share there is a world out 00:00:14.10\00:00:15.07 there. Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:15.08\00:00:16.60 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:16.89\00:00:20.15 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time. 00:00:20.58\00:00:27.10 Hi boys and girls, I Brought this stuffed animal 00:00:27.13\00:00:29.66 today to show you, do you know what it is? 00:00:29.69\00:00:31.92 Yes, it's an adorable little lamb, don't you 00:00:31.95\00:00:35.41 just wanna just wrap your arms around him 00:00:35.44\00:00:37.42 and just hold him, he's so cuddly and soft. 00:00:37.45\00:00:40.81 This one's made out of real lamb's wool, 00:00:40.84\00:00:42.95 I tell you, you would just like to put your little 00:00:42.98\00:00:45.65 fingers in here and just feel how soft his wool is. 00:00:45.68\00:00:48.55 Do you know one thing that might surprise you 00:00:48.58\00:00:51.30 though about sheep? Is that sometimes a mother 00:00:51.33\00:00:54.65 sheep decides that she doesn't want her baby 00:00:54.68\00:00:56.57 lamb at all after it's born and when that baby 00:00:56.60\00:00:59.22 lamb's born, she just walks away and leaves it 00:00:59.25\00:01:01.72 there to die? Now, if that lamb is even able to 00:01:01.75\00:01:04.50 struggle to his feet when it tries to nurse the 00:01:04.53\00:01:06.68 mother sheep just butts that little lamb right away, 00:01:06.71\00:01:09.31 poor little lamb. Fortunately the baby lamb is 00:01:09.34\00:01:12.69 usually discovered by a very kind owner of the sheep. 00:01:12.72\00:01:15.33 And lovingly raised on bottle and when the lamb 00:01:15.36\00:01:18.54 is old enough he rejoined the flock and spends 00:01:18.57\00:01:21.09 his days grazing on moist green grass. 00:01:21.12\00:01:23.53 Do you know he probably doesn't think much about 00:01:23.56\00:01:25.93 how he was rejected when he was just a baby lamb. 00:01:25.96\00:01:28.52 Now, he has plenty of food and he fits in just 00:01:28.55\00:01:32.30 fine with the rest of the flock. 00:01:32.33\00:01:33.90 Well, our Bible story today is not a about a 00:01:33.93\00:01:36.62 little sheep who was rejected by his mother, 00:01:36.65\00:01:38.84 it's about a young boy who was sent away 00:01:38.87\00:01:41.59 from home by his own father. And his mother 00:01:41.62\00:01:44.57 was sent away with him and they had to run 00:01:44.60\00:01:46.76 into the desert, can you imagine how broken 00:01:46.79\00:01:49.61 hearted the boy must have been? 00:01:49.64\00:01:51.31 You know they must have wondered who would 00:01:51.34\00:01:53.48 provide from him and his mother. 00:01:53.51\00:01:54.98 Who would give them food to eat and water 00:01:55.01\00:01:57.20 to drink and clothing to wear? 00:01:57.23\00:01:59.11 Where would they live, would they die in the 00:01:59.14\00:02:01.63 desert. A good Sheppard always steps in to take 00:02:01.66\00:02:05.23 care of an abandoned baby lamb. 00:02:05.26\00:02:06.92 Who would take care of this boy and his mother? 00:02:06.95\00:02:10.30 Well, we'll find out the answers to those questions 00:02:10.33\00:02:14.08 a little later on when the boy tells his story 00:02:14.11\00:02:16.18 but first we'll spend a few minutes 00:02:16.21\00:02:18.43 with Emily out in the garden. 00:02:18.46\00:02:20.19 Welcome boys and girls to my kitchen, 00:02:27.48\00:02:30.13 wait a second. Well, my dad's a doctor 00:09:40.98\00:09:43.95 and I certainly wouldn't wanna apples and keep him 00:09:43.98\00:09:45.88 away. Well, I'm just teasing, but today we're making 00:09:45.91\00:09:48.87 a recipe that has apples in it and apples are 00:09:48.90\00:09:51.94 healthy for you. So, you do wanna eat them, 00:09:51.97\00:09:53.92 today we're making Apple Dumplings, 00:09:53.95\00:09:56.68 let me go and read the recipe for you. 00:09:56.71\00:09:58.35 10 apples-peeled, cored and chopped 00:09:59.51\00:10:02.42 One 12 oz. can of frozen apple juice concentrate 00:10:02.45\00:10:06.70 3 tbsp. corn starch 2 tsp. cinnamon 00:10:06.73\00:10:11.71 Flour for tortillas or puff pastry 00:10:11.74\00:10:16.66 Now, to start I already have my apple juice 00:10:16.69\00:10:19.39 concentrate heating up on the stove and 00:10:19.42\00:10:22.44 I saved up just a little bit of the apple juice 00:10:22.47\00:10:24.73 concentrate, to put my corn starch in. 00:10:24.76\00:10:27.76 And the corn starch, you may remember never 00:10:27.79\00:10:30.73 put corn starch into there something unless 00:10:30.76\00:10:33.09 it's already mixed with liquid. Because corn 00:10:33.12\00:10:35.85 starch will just thicken and you want to put it 00:10:35.88\00:10:37.24 in something else before, so we're gonna mix 00:10:37.27\00:10:39.30 the corn starch with some your apple juice 00:10:39.33\00:10:42.12 concentrate, just kind of mix it up a little bit. 00:10:42.15\00:10:44.16 And then you're gonna add it to your apple juice 00:10:48.40\00:10:51.23 concentrate, now when you add it make sure 00:10:51.26\00:10:54.38 that you start stirring and keep stirring the whole 00:10:54.41\00:10:57.53 time. 'Cause this is gonna thicken really quickly, 00:10:57.56\00:11:00.95 now when it does thicken you're gonna add your 00:11:02.26\00:11:03.98 apples. Now, apple dumplings are very, 00:11:04.01\00:11:09.33 very delicious it's simple. Obviously there's very 00:11:09.36\00:11:12.41 little ingredients to this and apples are very 00:11:12.44\00:11:16.81 healthy for you. You do wanna make sure you 00:11:16.84\00:11:18.25 eat some apples, now and this looks to be 00:11:18.28\00:11:21.59 getting thicker, which it's a little bit thicker. 00:11:21.62\00:11:28.04 But it needs to be a little bit more, now apple 00:11:28.07\00:11:34.01 dumplings I don't know if you've had them before 00:11:34.04\00:11:35.95 but we'll end up doing is we're gonna put 00:11:35.98\00:11:38.71 them on in some tortillas, wrap them up, a delicious 00:11:38.74\00:11:42.18 healthy snack, you can eat them as your school 00:11:42.21\00:11:44.95 or even your breakfast in the morning. 00:11:44.98\00:11:47.41 It's like a breakfast burrito kind of with 00:11:47.44\00:11:50.38 apples in it. Delicious, just a little bit thicker 00:11:50.41\00:11:56.04 and the corn starch. You don't wanna keep 00:11:56.07\00:11:59.33 stirring them, remember to keep stirring or else 00:11:59.36\00:12:01.07 it'll burn on the bottom, plus it will thicken very 00:12:01.10\00:12:04.04 quickly. Once it gets thicker, 00:12:04.07\00:12:08.09 it's almost ready and make sure your heats up 00:12:10.12\00:12:12.23 pretty high too, so they it'll continue to thicken. 00:12:12.26\00:12:15.11 Now, when I was at home and made this for my 00:12:17.03\00:12:19.13 family, my dad loved this. But I guess, 00:12:19.16\00:12:22.95 that doesn't say too much because he pretty much 00:12:22.98\00:12:26.30 eats everything. But my brother liked it too and 00:12:26.33\00:12:30.79 also my cousin Jeremy who is very picky, 00:12:30.82\00:12:33.51 he liked it also. So, you know that it must be good; 00:12:33.54\00:12:35.88 well it looks just about thick enough. 00:12:35.91\00:12:38.27 Now, I know this looks like a lot of apples, 00:12:38.30\00:12:41.07 but when you put it in. The hot water will shrink 00:12:41.10\00:12:44.21 the apples, put the apples in and continue mixing 00:12:44.24\00:12:51.31 that up. And you gotta add your cinnamon too 00:12:51.34\00:12:55.75 and I should have added that before. 00:12:55.78\00:12:56.91 Oops forget that, I think we should go ahead 00:12:56.94\00:12:59.08 and add that in now, just to give the apples a 00:12:59.11\00:13:04.50 little bit of flavor, a little bit of space. 00:13:04.53\00:13:08.42 Just let it keep on heating up, now while that's 00:13:08.45\00:13:15.76 heating I'm gonna go ahead and get my tortillas 00:13:15.79\00:13:18.68 out and stir it. Well, maybe I should, maybe 00:13:18.71\00:13:22.06 I should just keep stirring it, or else you might 00:13:22.09\00:13:23.31 burn it. Stir that up, I mean it looks like it's 00:13:23.34\00:13:28.88 getting thicker and it's gonna be done. 00:13:28.91\00:13:33.27 Mixing up the apples, I'm gonna go ahead 00:13:35.31\00:13:37.74 and get my tortillas out, and then you wanna 00:13:37.77\00:13:40.53 make sure that your tortillas are hot. 00:13:40.56\00:13:42.50 I put mine in the oven for just a few seconds 00:13:42.53\00:13:44.50 they'll warmed up otherwise they'll crack 00:13:44.53\00:13:46.13 when you do them, when you roll it up. 00:13:46.16\00:13:48.31 Now, see how it's thick you're gonna put a little 00:13:48.34\00:13:51.95 bit of your mixture about right here in the center, 00:13:51.98\00:13:55.73 you don't want too much or your tortillas 00:13:55.76\00:13:57.18 won't roll up, a little bit more in there. 00:13:57.21\00:14:01.20 And I'm just gonna take it, roll it once, 00:14:01.23\00:14:04.11 roll over this way, roll on the other side. 00:14:04.14\00:14:08.70 And then continue on rolling it over oops 00:14:08.73\00:14:11.75 I think I might have gotten a little bit too much. 00:14:11.78\00:14:13.70 But you kind of say you do it, you wanna put 00:14:13.73\00:14:15.27 the seem side down so it doesn't unroll 00:14:15.30\00:14:17.53 and you're gonna bake it at 400 degrees for 00:14:17.56\00:14:20.90 about 20 to 30 minutes or until they look brown 00:14:20.93\00:14:23.58 on the top and then they'll be done and I have some 00:14:23.61\00:14:26.76 finished apple dumpling for you to see 00:14:26.79\00:14:28.98 what they look like. You can even put a little glaze 00:14:29.01\00:14:32.46 in the top, which is some, blend up some Florida 00:14:32.49\00:14:36.35 crystals and with some almond extract. 00:14:36.38\00:14:38.99 And a little bit of water and you'll have a 00:14:39.02\00:14:40.38 nice plate, a perfect healthy snack. 00:14:40.41\00:14:42.56 Well, until next time keep cooking and eat healthy. 00:14:42.59\00:14:47.11 Boy it is really, really hot out here, 00:14:54.77\00:14:57.99 the sun is shining down on my back and my feet 00:14:58.02\00:15:00.67 are swelling and I don't smell too fresh either, 00:15:00.70\00:15:04.29 it reminds of another hot day a long, long time 00:15:04.32\00:15:08.08 ago when my family were fighting and they were 00:15:08.11\00:15:10.69 so many problems in my household. I'm Ishmael 00:15:10.72\00:15:14.36 and it was a terrible time many, many years ago 00:15:14.39\00:15:17.39 when my family was fighting over me and where I fit 00:15:17.42\00:15:21.54 in my family household. My father had two wives, 00:15:21.57\00:15:25.15 a wife by the name of Sarah and my mother Hagar, 00:15:25.18\00:15:28.29 oh! They never got along Sarah and Hagar. 00:15:28.32\00:15:30.80 And we had to leave the household because 00:15:30.83\00:15:33.19 there was so much jealousy and there was 00:15:33.22\00:15:34.96 so much fighting. Because of that we got send 00:15:34.99\00:15:38.40 into the wilderness, my mother and I Hagar, 00:15:38.43\00:15:40.81 it was so hot in the wilderness during the 00:15:40.84\00:15:43.55 day the sun would shine down on us. 00:15:43.58\00:15:45.61 We were sweaty, we were hot. We were 00:15:45.64\00:15:47.80 wondering if anyone was looking for us, 00:15:47.83\00:15:50.55 if any one would take care of us. 00:15:50.58\00:15:52.42 The family no longer could have us there, 00:15:52.45\00:15:55.55 when my stepbrother Isaac was born, 00:15:55.58\00:15:58.22 there was simply no place for me in that household, 00:15:58.25\00:16:01.18 no place for my mother because of all of the 00:16:01.21\00:16:03.22 jealousy. Well, there we were in the wilderness, 00:16:03.25\00:16:06.10 I was hot and it was a terrible hot, very warm 00:16:06.13\00:16:09.61 day like it is today, the nights were so cold 00:16:09.64\00:16:12.37 and we were so afraid. We didn't think that 00:16:12.40\00:16:15.30 we would be delivered from this; 00:16:15.33\00:16:16.85 we didn't think that anyone was looking out for us. 00:16:16.88\00:16:19.81 But little did we know that God was taking care of us, 00:16:19.84\00:16:23.06 even though we couldn't see it. 00:16:23.09\00:16:24.68 My mother prayed that, that God would not 00:16:24.71\00:16:27.62 let us be out here in the wilderness and leave us 00:16:27.65\00:16:30.04 to die alone out here when I was here. 00:16:30.07\00:16:32.02 She especially didn't wanna see me die here 00:16:32.05\00:16:34.36 in the wilderness, by the way my name Ishmael 00:16:34.39\00:16:37.30 means called by God or God will hear. 00:16:37.33\00:16:41.03 And God heard my mother's pray that I, 00:16:41.06\00:16:43.43 that I would not die in the wilderness that 00:16:43.46\00:16:45.43 she would see me here. She prayed and there 00:16:45.46\00:16:48.53 was a well of water in the middle of the desert. 00:16:48.56\00:16:51.73 An angel came and told my mother about this 00:16:51.76\00:16:54.36 well of water and we took the well of water, 00:16:54.39\00:16:56.97 we were able to drink, it just made me remember 00:16:57.00\00:16:59.60 on this hot day, that God would take care of us, 00:16:59.63\00:17:03.96 like he did on that day. He seems to always find 00:17:03.99\00:17:07.58 a way to do that, to take care of us even 00:17:07.61\00:17:10.00 when things look bad, even when things look down, 00:17:10.03\00:17:12.46 even when it seems like we're not going to get out 00:17:12.49\00:17:14.63 of our situation. God took care of us during that 00:17:14.66\00:17:17.71 time in the awful terrible wilderness. And he'll take 00:17:17.74\00:17:21.35 care of you too, he looked out for us, 00:17:21.38\00:17:23.93 he blessed my family. God said he would make 00:17:23.96\00:17:26.83 of me, even though we have problems in our 00:17:26.86\00:17:29.36 family. He would make of me a great nation, 00:17:29.39\00:17:33.27 a nation of thousands of people. 00:17:33.30\00:17:36.14 And he blessed us, my mother and I and he 00:17:36.17\00:17:39.08 brought us through that hot day. 00:17:39.11\00:17:40.36 He saved us from dying in the wilderness, 00:17:40.39\00:17:43.90 from not being able to, to find anything to eat 00:17:43.93\00:17:47.20 or to drink. And just like God took care of us 00:17:47.23\00:17:50.54 that time in the wilderness, even though we had 00:17:50.57\00:17:52.48 family problems and things weren't going that well 00:17:52.51\00:17:55.33 and we were cast out. Even though no one 00:17:55.36\00:17:58.15 seemed to be looking out for us. 00:17:58.18\00:17:59.90 God was looking out for us, we didn't know it 00:17:59.93\00:18:02.93 but that's what he did and that's what he 00:18:02.96\00:18:04.94 always does. He looks out for his people, 00:18:04.97\00:18:07.41 he takes care of us, I'm going to market place 00:18:07.44\00:18:09.75 to sell these skins that I've just collected 00:18:09.78\00:18:11.93 while hunting. And I think about it and how 00:18:11.96\00:18:14.73 God provided for me during that time and I'm going 00:18:14.76\00:18:17.89 to sell these right now. He's gonna provide for 00:18:17.92\00:18:20.44 me again, he provides for all of us all the time. 00:18:20.47\00:18:23.25 He's always looking out for us just like he looked 00:18:23.28\00:18:26.07 out for my mother and I. Things worked out 00:18:26.10\00:18:28.36 alright as they always do when God's 00:18:28.39\00:18:31.33 looking out for his children and 00:18:31.36\00:18:33.14 he's always looking out for you too. 00:18:33.17\00:18:35.18 Hi boys and girls, do you know what time it is, 00:20:18.70\00:20:20.69 it's time for Miss.
