00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so,
00:17 let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hi, boys and girls, do you like to learn new words?
00:27 I do and one of the most interesting words
00:30 I found is used a lot in the Bible,
00:32 the word is baptized.
00:34 Now you might say, Ah! That's not a new word to me.
00:37 I've heard it a lots of times
00:39 and you know what I'm sure you have.
00:41 But sometimes we can hear words
00:43 and even use them without knowing
00:45 what they really mean.
00:46 For example in expression people use
00:49 a lot today is Ah! That's awesome.
00:52 And they use it to describe many things
00:54 from a really good story
00:56 to the taste of an ice-cream cone.
00:59 But do you know the word awesome really means
01:02 to be filled with a feeling of reference and even fear?
01:06 So are you still so sure that
01:09 you know the meaning of the word baptized
01:11 as it's used in the Bible.
01:13 Well, in today's Bible story,
01:14 you'll learn about a grown man who was baptized
01:17 and he wasn't sprinkle with a little water
01:20 or simply touched with something moist.
01:22 This man actually went underneath the water
01:25 and then he came up again dripping wet.
01:28 Did you know that Jesus was baptized that same way?
01:32 You can read about it in your Bible.
01:34 Many people today are baptized
01:36 just the way Jesus was.
01:38 In fact I can never forget my own baptism
01:41 when I was 10 years old Moline Elanoi
01:44 and Elder Euler baptized me
01:46 and that was such a precious moment I will never forget.
01:49 You know, I put on a robe just like this one
01:53 and I'm going to put it on for you right now
01:57 and isn't that a pretty blue
02:01 just like that and look at that,
02:04 see this robe just completely covers me
02:07 and then after you have the robe on,
02:09 you step into a lake or a baptismal tank
02:12 that holds enough water to completely cover you.
02:16 Some people are even baptized in swimming pools,
02:18 because you know what?
02:19 it doesn't really matter where you are,
02:21 what matters is that the person
02:23 who goes under the water
02:25 that they come up again all dripping wet and smiling
02:29 and that they understand
02:30 that they have left their old self
02:32 and their old way of life behind
02:34 and begin a new life with Jesus,
02:37 isn't that wonderful?
02:39 Well, now I want you to listen as Ranger Jim tells us
02:42 all about the Purple Martin.
02:51 Hi, boys and girls Ranger Jim saying
02:53 welcome to "Nature Time."
02:54 We're glad you can be with us
02:56 to learn about the Purple Martin
02:57 have you seen the Purple Martin,
02:59 he is the largest of the swallow family.
03:01 And he loves to live in a nest box
03:03 that you might put up at your home.
03:05 The Purple Martin is
03:06 the largest of the swallow family
03:07 and we have many varieties of swallows.
03:10 We've Bank Swallows and Tree Swallows
03:12 and Cliff Swallows,
03:13 perhaps the most popular of the swallows,
03:17 most widely distributed in the United States
03:19 is the Barn Swallow, and he is the fellow
03:22 that has a glossy shiny back
03:24 and he has all of the foxy almost orange color
03:27 in his breast and you know what,
03:29 he likes to build his nest, he likes to go into a garage
03:32 or a barn and build his nest of mud.
03:35 How do you suppose he carries mud to build a nest?
03:38 He goes out and finds the mud
03:40 that's just a right consistency
03:42 and he gets a big bunch off it with his bill
03:45 and he flies up there and attaches it to the wood
03:47 or under side of a bridge whatever it maybe
03:50 and he makes it a round shaped,
03:52 he takes his bill and he shapes it smooth
03:54 and makes it round
03:55 and he goes and gets another load
03:56 and he starts on the other side
03:58 allowing this side to dry slightly.
04:00 Then he alternates where he brings
04:02 that allowing it to dry,
04:04 so it doesn't all become a wet and glob in,
04:06 just all fall off.
04:08 Isn't that neat?
04:09 I tried that once by laying brick
04:10 and I couldn't lay brick
04:11 until a friend of mine told me,
04:13 Jim just lay one layer at a time
04:14 and wait until tomorrow when it dries
04:16 and even an amateur can do that.
04:18 But the Barn Swallow knows how to do it just that quick,
04:21 the very first time and builds his beautiful nest
04:24 and then he lines it with something soft
04:26 where the female lays the eggs
04:27 and then the babies hatch.
04:29 They are under the barn, under the roof of the barn,
04:32 up on the heaves or under the bridge
04:33 which is comfortable and cool
04:35 and that's where they spend their summer,
04:36 that's how they raise their babies.
04:38 But Mr. Martin in the past
04:40 having occupied wood pecker holes
04:42 and what have you in trees and also nesting in cliffs.
04:46 He has learned that those places are very hard to find,
04:49 but there are people who love to have him
04:51 come to their lawns
04:52 and so they put up these beautiful Martin boxes.
04:55 And they like to attract him because most people believe
04:58 that he eats thousands of mosquitoes
05:01 and in fact he doesn't.
05:02 Folks who sell Martin boxes
05:05 always will tell you that oh! Yes he eats many mosquitoes,
05:08 but the Martin is a larger bird
05:09 than most birds that feed on mosquitoes.
05:12 He likes to feed on butterflies
05:13 and moths and dragonflies and things of that nature.
05:16 For many years at our home,
05:18 we had Martin boxes and we had many,
05:21 many pairs of Martin over the years.
05:23 When one box would be occupied,
05:25 the next year we put up another box
05:27 and so the young came back
05:28 with their parents from Brazil
05:29 where they had spent their winter.
05:31 Then when that box will occupied,
05:33 I would put up another box
05:34 and so what a sound we had from daylight to dark
05:37 in our yard as the Martins were chattering
05:39 and talking back and forth and sailing back.
05:41 Our children used to love to lay on the long
05:43 late in the afternoon just before dark
05:45 and watch the Martins.
05:46 And sometime they would soar so high,
05:48 you could hardly see them,
05:50 back and forth they go circling
05:51 and circling catching food.
05:53 When they have enough food in their beak,
05:54 they come sliding and gliding back to the box
05:57 and here four little hungry mouths
05:59 were sticking out for mother to feed.
06:01 So if you put up a box for Martins,
06:03 I would suggest that you put it near water
06:07 that's what we're doing today.
06:09 We're on a pontoon boat and we're on the water.
06:12 We're doing the video of the Martins
06:14 and it's near water and they need an open space,
06:16 because they like to glide in for landing.
06:18 They don't like to go through trees,
06:20 so if you get a Martin House,
06:21 be sure to put that up and watch.
06:23 If you have a problem with ants or if a cat,
06:25 or anything should go up there,
06:27 then I would suggest
06:28 that you grease that slightly with Vaseline.
06:30 And another little trick I'll give you
06:32 when the Martins have finished,
06:34 their babies have fletched that is flown away with them
06:37 back to their area where they migrate,
06:39 where they will spend the winter,
06:40 then have your Martin box,
06:42 so that you can take it down and clean it.
06:45 Make sure it's all fine and clean.
06:47 Then take your aluminum strip and put over the holes
06:49 and just cover them over with that aluminum
06:53 and put screws in it and put your box back up,
06:55 it will be there all winter.
06:57 And then wait until spring
06:59 and then when the Martins come back
07:01 and start flying around the house,
07:03 then you put the box up with the whole cover removed
07:06 and then the Martins will occupy the box.
07:08 If you leave it up all winter without a cover
07:11 over the holes the starlings
07:13 and the sparrows will occupy the house.
07:15 When the Martins come back,
07:17 you will have a battle royal going out in your yards.
07:20 So you don't want that, so you take care of the box,
07:22 take care of the house that way.
07:24 So when the Martins come back,
07:25 they will come back to the same house
07:26 year after year, after year.
07:28 We've mark the Martins in our yard
07:30 and we know that they are the same Martins,
07:31 they will come back to your yard.
07:33 So boys and girls the Martins are wonderful creatures
07:37 and remember that God loves the Martin,
07:39 but most of all He loves you.
07:40 Don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him
07:42 because He really does love you.
07:53 Hello, boys and girls welcome to "Music Time".
07:57 Yes Bethany.
07:58 Uncle Buddy, I was singing in Kids Time,
08:00 but how did we get started?
08:01 Oh! I'm gonna tell boys and girls at home too.
08:05 You see Miss Brenda was praying really hard
08:07 for this program for all the different parts of it.
08:10 And then one day somebody gave her my name
08:13 and so she called me and I didn't know what to do,
08:15 so I started praying too.
08:17 And I called your mother.
08:20 And then my mom talked to us
08:22 and then she called Mrs. Rojek
08:23 who talked to her kids
08:24 and then she called Aunt Jeannine
08:26 who talked to her kids.
08:27 And then Aunt Jeannine called the Berrien Springs people.
08:31 That's right, we got the Tams involved,
08:33 we got Debby and Melissa and little Yasmine
08:36 and then I called the Barrettes
08:38 and your mom called the Walkers.
08:42 And the next thing, you know, we're Kids Time singers
08:44 and we're so happy to be the Kids Time singers.
08:46 See, we're all connected just like everybody
08:50 who loves Jesus, who knows Jesus,
08:52 they are all connected too.
08:54 And if you are a friend of Jesus,
08:55 you are friend of ours.
09:06 I've seen the morning sunrise,
09:08 I've watched the flowers grow,
09:11 I've listened to the song
09:13 But there is one thing now I know
09:15 They were all put there for us
09:17 To share by someone so divine
09:20 And if you are a friend of Jesus,
09:24 You are a friend of mine.
09:30 I've seen the light, I've seen the light
09:32 And that's why my heart sings.
09:34 I've known the joy, I've known the joy,
09:36 That loving Jesus brings.
09:38 I've seen the morning sunrise,
09:41 I've heard the ocean sound
09:43 I've seen the flowers at spring time
09:45 And there is one thing very sure
09:47 They were all put there for us
09:49 To share by someone so divine
09:52 And if you are a friend of Jesus,
09:55 You are a friend of mine.
10:01 I've seen a resilient winter And the summer skies above
10:06 I've often felt the feeling of an undivided thought
10:10 They were all put there for us
10:12 to share by someone so divine
10:14 And if you are a friend of Jesus,
10:18 You are a friend of mine.
10:24 I've seen the light, I've seen the light
10:26 And that's why my heart sings.
10:28 I've known the joy, I've known the joy,
10:30 That loving Jesus brings.
10:32 I've known the special feeling,
10:34 That can fill the Christians heart.
10:37 Thou love that hold that comfort
10:39 I believe in every part
10:41 They were all put there for us
10:43 to share by someone so divine
10:45 And if you are a friend of Jesus,
10:49 You are a friend of mine.
11:07 Hi, there is nothing like a warm flaky biscuit.
11:11 Umm! I can almost taste it right now.
11:13 Well, that's what I'm making today.
11:15 Let me share the ingredients with you.
11:17 [recipes on screen]
11:32 Now we're going to start with our flour
11:34 put that in a bowl our dry ingredients
11:38 and our baking powder and our salt.
11:42 We'll mix those up just like that.
11:47 And now I'm gonna add oil,
11:49 a canola oil and when you put that
11:51 and you are going to mix it up
11:53 and it should kind of
11:56 almost lump up some.
12:01 Once you mix it and it starts to get a little bit lumpy
12:07 and you take your pastry blender
12:10 and this is a pastry blender right here
12:12 and we're gonna kind of smash it up
12:15 until it looks a little bit pebbly
12:17 or crummy to little crumbs just like that.
12:24 Now, you know, I love biscuits
12:25 for anywhere even for breakfast,
12:27 for lunch, even for dinner they go with anything.
12:36 Here it go, the little looks little bit crummy.
12:41 Okay, now I'm gonna soy it our soy milk,
12:46 now this is soygurt, soy milk it's my favorite,
12:49 it's delicious and you want to try, it's good.
12:53 As you pour it and you put little bit over time
12:55 and this isn't exact measurements,
12:58 you know, you don't want to pour it all at same time.
13:02 Pour it some more, mixing it,
13:10 so I need some more, oops, trying to spill it,
13:18 you don't want it too dry, you don't want it too wet,
13:23 it looks, put tiny, tiny bit more,
13:31 mix it all up, mix like that.
13:36 All right, now with biscuits
13:37 you don't want to mix some too much
13:39 and you don't want to neat them
13:41 or else they get too hard and dry.
13:45 You can take a little bit of flour
13:47 and I have some extra flour here
13:48 and sprinkle it over on the counter,
13:54 then take our dough, a biscuit dough.
14:01 And a rolling pen, we'll roll it out like that.
14:13 Like that, you don't want it too thin
14:14 then your biscuits are gonna be thin.
14:17 Then I have a cutter here, a biscuit cutter
14:21 and I'm just going to cut one out.
14:26 It's like that and I've a non-stick pan
14:29 and put on the non-stick pan.
14:32 And this is what the finished product looks like.
14:44 You are going to bake them for about 10 minutes
14:47 at 425 degrees and it should
14:50 they should bake about 10 minutes.
14:53 Well, don't they look delicious,
14:54 you can have a biscuit at any meal of the day
14:57 with may be a little bit of soy margarine
15:00 or some no sugar added jam,
15:04 some fresh jam or even just plane,
15:06 I like them just plane.
15:08 Well, until next time keep cooking and eat healthy.
15:20 Philip, Philip! That's you? Yes, yes.
15:22 Philip from Samaria? Right, Samaria oh!
15:26 I'm Michael from Samaria
15:27 and I heard you are preaching there.
15:29 Good to see you.
15:30 The crowd was just so responsive to Christ,
15:32 when we preached there.
15:33 There were blind people that receive their sight,
15:36 crippled were able to walk, it was going so well, wow!
15:40 And then and during my morning prayer time,
15:45 the angel came to me and said.
15:47 What angel?
15:48 God's angel, Philip go to the road
15:52 not just the road, the desert road.
15:55 We're in the desert?
15:56 Exactly, I want to say Lord
15:58 things are going so well here,
15:59 I know what to do I'm learning
16:04 to not say that so much any more
16:06 and listen to what He says to do.
16:10 What did He tell you to do?
16:11 He said go out on that desert road
16:14 and just start walking
16:16 and I was on that desert road
16:17 having few questions for God as I walked.
16:21 Wondering what you are out there fore?
16:22 Exactly. There is nobody there.
16:23 And then I saw a cloud of dust.
16:25 Cloud of what?
16:26 Dust, as I continued to wait
16:28 I saw a chariot not your old or used, a royal chariot.
16:35 A royal chariot in the desert? Yes.
16:38 What were they doing?
16:39 Well, the spirit said, go up to the chariot Philip
16:43 and so I ran, I was tired of walking in the desert,
16:46 but I ran to that chariot and it was--
16:48 What did you say?
16:49 Well, it was the Ethiopian treasure.
16:51 He had one fellow waving his fan keeping him cool,
16:55 he had another one driving the chariot,
16:57 I went up to them and I said what are you reading?
17:00 They were reading while they were traveling?
17:02 from the scroll of Isaiah. Wow.
17:05 And I said do you understand what you are reading?
17:09 Did they?
17:11 Well, he said I read as a lamb led to the slaughter,
17:15 the lamb opened not his mouth.
17:16 He want to know if the Prophet
17:18 Isaiah was talking about himself
17:19 or someone else? Sure?
17:22 A prophecy of Jesus. Yes.
17:25 So I started where the Ethiopian was
17:28 and let him right down to Jesus,
17:31 His life, His death,
17:36 and His resurrection.
17:37 Did he accept that?
17:38 Oh! He was thrilled, we were riding along in the chariot
17:41 which was a lot more comfortable
17:43 than walking the desert road. Yeah.
17:44 And I was thinking to myself,
17:46 why don't I just listen to God more often? Yes.
17:49 And so we're going on
17:52 and the Ethiopian said there is some water,
17:56 I thought he wanted to water the horses or something.
17:59 Yeah, take a bath or something--
18:00 Yes, but he said what's stopping me
18:04 from being baptized?
18:06 Just like Jesus was.
18:07 And I hadn't even talk to him about baptism.
18:09 He had been reading the scripture,
18:11 he had been reading the prophecies
18:12 and he wanted to be baptized.
18:15 We stopped the chariot, we went over to the water,
18:20 I lowered him down in and brought him back up,
18:26 I said good bye to him and I was gone.
18:30 What you mean he was gone, go where?
18:32 He lie to chariot in a rapture gone.
18:35 Gone where?
18:36 I ended up in a town with my hair
18:37 still wet from the baptism
18:39 preaching to another group of people.
18:41 Don't ask me to explain it, but I've learned one thing,
18:46 I'm gonna listen to God even if it says
18:50 even if He says go to the desert road.
18:52 Just for one man.
18:54 Exactly, what a story.
18:56 Every time when I'm walking I think about that story.
18:59 That's a great story Philip.
19:00 It's good to see you again.
19:02 It's good to see you too Philip.
19:04 Listen I need to go, would you like to come with me?
19:08 Yes I'll walk a little ways with you, I'll join. Good.
19:27 God uses little things to change the world.
19:31 Small grains of sand turn into pearls.
19:35 Acorns will grow into a tree.
19:38 God uses little things, little things like me.
19:47 David was short, Goliath tall.
19:51 But there he stood, in spite of all
19:54 With just one sling, he aimed so well.
19:57 One tiny rock, one giant fell!
20:04 Zacchaeus climbed up in a tree.
20:08 He was short, he could not see.
20:12 But Jesus saw him in the crowd,
20:15 And said, "I'm going to your house."
20:20 God uses little things to change the world.
20:24 Small grains of sand turn into pearls.
20:28 Acorns will grow into a tree.
20:31 God uses little things, little things like me.
20:38 I may never be tall or rich,
20:44 Or even super star.
20:49 But all that really matters is
20:54 The size of my heart.
21:03 God uses little things to change the world.
21:06 Small grains of sand turn into pearls.
21:10 Acorns will grow into a tree.
21:13 God uses little things, little things,
21:18 He uses little things, little things,
21:22 God uses little things, little things, like me.
21:33 Like me.
21:42 Thank you Ashley for that song "Little Things"
21:45 I just love that song.
21:47 Well, boys and girls I like to have you meet
21:48 someone with me today
21:50 and his name is Kenny, hi, Kenny. Hi.
21:52 I want to thank you for being with me today
21:54 and you know what, I love your name,
21:55 do you know why? Why?
21:56 because my brother's name is Kenny
21:59 and I really love my brother, but Kenny can you tell me
22:02 what do you do to share Jesus?
22:05 I help people.
22:06 You help people, now how do you help people?
22:08 When people are roller skating
22:11 and they fall over. Right.
22:13 I help them up
22:14 You help them up, now are they pretty excited
22:16 and thankful when you help them up?
22:18 No, they are always crying too much.
22:21 They are always crying
22:22 and you know why are they crying?
22:23 Because it hurts.
22:24 It hurts, they must have fallen pretty hard.
22:26 We know, it make Jesus happy
22:27 when we help people, doesn't it?
22:29 That's right, well, you know, I got some letters here,
22:31 would you like to hear them?
22:33 Now this letter is from Amanda
22:35 and she lives in a Adairsville, Georgia
22:37 and let's see what Amanda has to say.
22:39 She says, dear Miss Brenda,
22:43 I would like you to send me a Kids Club packet
22:46 and I could learn the lessons.
22:48 I share Jesus by going to my friend's house
22:50 and reading the Bible to her.
22:51 I'm nine years old
22:52 and I watch Kids Time every Sabbath morning.
22:54 God bless you Amanda.
22:56 Well, thank you Amanda for that

24:39 so I could make sure I saw it.
24:42 He says, I often share Jesus by singing
24:44 in the children's choir and I also ask my mom
24:46 if I can invite friends back to the house
24:48 for lunch on Sabbath.
