00:03 It's time to share there is a world out there
00:06 looking for a friend like Jesus, 00:10 it's time to share there is a world out there. 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time. 00:24 Hi, boys and girls. 00:25 Have you ever owned a pet bird? 00:28 Birds are beautiful and they are interesting 00:30 and some of them are extremely intelligent, 00:32 do you know that? 00:34 I know you might be wondering 00:35 where the bird is inside this empty cage. 00:38 Well, I want to tell you little bit about it. 00:41 When I was a little girl, I had a bird name Frosty. 00:44 Now I love this bird so much 00:46 and I took pretty good care of Frosty. 00:49 And when I would play the piano, 00:51 Frosty would fly out of his cage 00:52 and would land right here on my shoulder 00:54 and sing in my ear. 00:56 Well, you know, I tried to tell Frosty 00:58 never to leave his cage 00:59 unless I was there to take care of him. 01:01 And I had a good reason for that rule. 01:04 You see, I knew that danger lurking nearby. 01:06 And that danger was in the form of our dog 01:09 who watched that cage with very greedy eyes. 01:12 I didn't want to keep Frosty from flying; 01:14 I wanted him to live a happy life 01:16 and I knew he would be safe only as long as he stayed 01:19 in his cage when our dog was around. 01:22 Well, one day the cage door was open 01:25 and Frosty decided he would just take off on his own. 01:28 And you know that's just what he did 01:30 and he flew right into the jaws of danger. 01:34 You know, Frosty is like boys and girls, 01:36 and moms and dads who decide to go their own way 01:39 without Jesus who loves them so much. 01:42 You see, Jesus wants to keep us safe from Satan 01:45 and he made just ten little rules 01:47 that would make us not only safe, but happy. 01:51 But you know what; 01:52 He doesn't force us to follow those rules. 01:54 He leaves the cage door open, 01:56 so we can make our own choices. 01:59 I hope each one of you would choose to obey Jesus everyday. 02:04 Now, Ranger Jim has something special to show us. 02:06 Let's see what it is. 02:15 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:16 welcome to Nature Time. 02:17 We're glad you can join us today. 02:19 Look at this beautiful creature, 02:21 isn't he a handsome rascal? 02:23 This is the Anhinga and this is the male, 02:26 this the daddy bird. 02:28 You can see he has a very black shiny neck 02:32 and the beautiful green around his eye. 02:34 He has that in the breeding season when they built a nest 02:37 and the mother is laying the eggs, 02:38 and he has this coloration. 02:40 Now these are very interesting birds. 02:43 They catch their pray by swimming under water. 02:46 And God made them so that they don't have 02:48 any oil in their feathers. 02:49 If you have seen a bird preening, 02:52 they are sitting and they will preen 02:53 their feathers and whatever. 02:54 Occasionally they will reach back 02:56 to the base of their tail, 02:57 there is an oil gland and they get oil in that. 03:00 And then when they preen their feathers 03:01 and zip and unzip the feather, 03:03 they put oil on them and that keep their feathers 03:06 healthy and normal. 03:07 Ducks have that, most birds have that, 03:10 but the Anhinga doesn't. 03:11 God designed it that way, 03:13 sometime he is called the Water Turkey, 03:15 because when he spreads out his tail in flight 03:17 it looks like a wild Turkey feather. 03:19 Under water he spreads out his tail 03:21 and that gives him his elevation, 03:23 to go up and down, swimming and catching fish. 03:26 He has a very sharp beak. 03:28 You can see it, looking at it closely. 03:30 It's almost as sharp as a needle 03:32 and when he gets near to fish, 03:33 he reaches out and spears it with that beak. 03:35 He can catch a Bluegill and he come to the surface, 03:38 and for all you would. 03:40 You could not believe it if you have never seen before. 03:42 He tosses it in the air and opens his beak 03:44 and catches it and down it goes. 03:47 He just tosses in the air and it's really amusing 03:49 to watch a young one trying to do that. 03:51 More often than not they let it go. 03:53 and I've to trace down another one. 03:55 But soon they develop this ability 03:57 to toss it in the air and catch it. 03:59 And so... the Anhinga, the word Anhinga 04:02 come from a similar word called snake bird. 04:05 And quite often, you will see the Anhinga swimming 04:09 with just his head showing above the water 04:11 and many people for many years thought 04:13 that they were snake, or some people thought 04:14 they were snake and they are also fiercely territorial 04:18 for nesting sites and roosting sites. 04:21 We just had an opportunity a moment ago to see two of them 04:24 probably would have been friends during the day, 04:26 but it's time to roost tonight 04:27 and one of them has a favorite place 04:29 and someone else came by 04:30 and says, oh no, no... you can't do that. 04:32 So that's the Anhinga. 04:34 Now, we have another bird 04:36 and this bird is called the "Limpkin." 04:38 Very unusual birds on the endangered species, 04:42 one of the few places you can still see them 04:44 in the world is here in South Florida. 04:46 He gets his name Limpkin because when he walks 04:48 he has a characteristic sort of a limp to it when he walks 04:52 and this is the bird that survives 04:55 almost solely on mollusk, he find fresh water shells 05:00 and things of that nature 05:01 and he also loves apple snails. 05:04 And his beak is curved just correctly, 05:07 so that he can dig it out and eat that. 05:09 And this birds voice has been used in more movies 05:12 than any other bird of all the birds in the world, 05:16 because when he calls at night is almost a scream. 05:18 It's a loud piercing sound, 05:21 and you could hear it for two or three miles. 05:23 And so in the movies of the jungles 05:25 and things like that, they always use the Limpkin. 05:28 Now the Limpkin was known 05:30 in the early days as "Chicken of the Marsh." 05:33 Now I'm not goanna try, 05:34 nor can't tell you from experience, 05:36 but people who have tried it say 05:38 fried up and it tastes just like chicken. 05:40 So the early pioneers did just that. 05:43 And so the Limpkin, was hunted to almost 05:45 to extinction that means they were very, very few left. 05:49 And so today they are protected 05:51 and they are making a good comeback. 05:53 They are one of those birds that have normally 05:55 would lay four or five eggs 05:57 and they are one of the parents 05:59 that just feed one or two. 06:01 And so that's the thing we can learn 06:03 about the Limpkin and these birds. 06:05 So Ranger Jim is always saying 06:06 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him 06:08 because He really does love you. 06:25 Hello, boys and girls, I am here with my friend Glesni. 06:28 Glesni, what's that note? 06:31 It's from my mom. From your mom. 06:34 Look at camera. 06:39 There is another note there, did you get it? 06:41 It's from Mrs. Roderick. 06:43 Mrs. Roderick, what did she have to say? 06:45 Look at Camera three, Yeah, we can do that. 06:50 There is another note there. 06:52 You and I figure out who that one from. 06:54 From Eric Arleen. 06:57 Arleen letter, who is, what's she saying? 07:00 Look at camera two. 07:04 And there is another note there, I want to get it? 07:08 Who is that from? 07:09 Miss Brenda, look at each other. 07:15 These people don't seem to know what they want, 07:17 they keep changing their mind. 07:21 I has a thing, never changes, the Ten Commandments. 07:25 God wrote with His own fingers. 07:32 In a cloud of fire and smoke 07:35 A mighty voice of thunder broke 07:39 As God descended to the mountain top. 07:47 High upon Mt. Sinai 07:50 He gave the rules we should live by 07:54 As God gave out the "shalts" and "thou shalt not"s. 08:03 Number one, we've just begun, 08:05 God should be first in your life. 08:08 Number two's the idol rule, 08:10 those graven images--- aren't nice 08:12 Number three God's name should be, 08:14 never spoken in jest 08:16 Number four, the Sabbath's for our worship and for rest 08:21 Number five, we all should strive 08:23 to honor father and mother 08:25 Number six, don't get your kicks from killing one another 08:30 Number seven, life is heaven when you're true to your mate 08:34 Number eight, don't steal and break this rule 08:37 for goodness sake. 08:39 Number nine, don't be the kind who goes around telling lies. 08:43 Number ten, don't covet when you see 08:45 your neighbor's house--- or wife. 08:47 That's the list and God insists 08:49 we stay away from these sins, 08:51 That is why we memorize commandments one through ten. 08:56 The Perfect ten, The perfect ten. 08:59 They're just as true as they were way back when. 09:03 God gave the perfect ten The perfect ten 09:08 God gave the perfect ten. 09:12 The Perfect ten, The perfect ten. 09:16 They're just as true as they were way back when. 09:20 God gave the perfect ten 09:22 The perfect ten God gave the perfect ten. 09:38 Hi, did you hear your mom say 09:39 oh, I don't know what to make for supper. 09:42 Well, then if she ever says that, 09:43 I have a recipe for you to make. 09:45 So get your pens and papers ready because you are gonna 09:47 want to take this recipe to her. Here is the recipe. 10:32 We're going to start with all of our vegetables 10:34 and I have a skillet over here 10:35 and I am going to put all of our vegetables in skillet 10:38 and the skillet is already hot. 10:42 Right there, and our sweet potatoes. 10:49 And our celery, and carrots. 10:56 And our onions, and our some meals. 11:05 I am going to mix them that all up with saucepan. 11:14 Now I am going to put my flour here 11:19 and mix it all up. 11:23 Now you get all mixed up. 11:28 This is the vegetable broth. 11:29 You are going to putting the flour in the vegetable broth 11:31 and when you get it all mixed up, 11:33 you can pour right over your vegetables. 11:41 And the saucepan is hot. 11:43 You are not gonna want to cook the vegetables, 11:44 you just want the saucepan to be hot, 11:49 to get this broth hot. Stir it up. Okay. 11:59 And then we are going to add our vegetarian burger 12:01 and I'd use Boca burgers, 12:04 but you can use any kind of vegetarian burger 12:07 that you like that you, whatever you have 12:09 in your fridge or pantry or whatever your family likes. 12:14 And I am also put in the seasonings. 12:18 It's marjoram put that in, and cayenne, 12:26 and thyme, and salt. 12:31 Now this a bay leaf, and bay leaves are used 12:34 for seasonings but you are not gonna crunch it up. 12:37 You can just put in hold and when your recipe is done, 12:40 be sure to take the bay leaf out 12:41 because you don't want to eat it. 12:42 It's just for flavoring. 12:48 Mix that all up, get all the seasonings all mixed up. 12:57 Okay. Now we're going to put in vegetarian burgers 13:04 and also mix those up. 13:06 Now the saucepan is on medium heat or dry heat 13:09 and we are just gonna put in there just long enough 13:12 to get the sauce heated. 13:14 You don't want to keep the vegetables fairly. 13:16 Just heat it. 13:19 And you are going to put it, after it's all heated up, 13:22 you are gonna put it on 13x9 pan or any baking dish 13:26 that looks pretty deal and you are going to bake it 13:28 at 350 degrees for about one hour 13:32 or until the vegetables are done 13:34 and I have, while I have baked few of them. 13:37 I am gonna show you. 13:43 A little bit hot. 13:46 And that is what it looks like. 13:48 Hmm...it smells delicious enough to eat. 13:51 Well, until next time keep cooking and eat healthy. 14:02 Oh, how God loves his people. 14:06 I have just spend 40 wonderful days 14:09 on the mountaintop with God. 14:11 God has trusted me Moses, 14:14 with leading his children through the willingness 14:17 to the Promised Land. 14:19 The children of Israel, have just been deliver 14:22 from slavery and what a wonderful deliverance it was, 14:26 but the people have been slaved so long in Egypt 14:30 that they are like babies. 14:32 They do not even know what is right and wrong anymore. 14:35 So, God in His great love for them has written His laws 14:40 on tables of stone that His people 14:43 might not wander from here. 14:45 With His own finger I watched Him do it. 14:49 He wrote His laws on these tables of stone 14:52 to protect His children from the lies of the enemy. 14:58 Do you want to know what God wrote? 15:01 I'm in a hurry to get back to my people, 15:04 because God told me up in the mountaintop 15:06 that there was trouble in the camp. 15:09 But I will be glad to share God's love with you, 15:13 for He wrote in for all of His children. 15:16 I will read it to you right now. 15:18 Then you can go and share with others. 15:23 Number one, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". 15:29 Number two, "Thou shalt not make 15:32 unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing 15:37 that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, 15:42 or that is in the water under the earth". 15:45 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, 15:49 nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God 15:52 am a jealous God, 15:54 visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children 15:58 unto the third and fourth generation 16:00 of them that hate me". 16:02 "And showing mercy to thousands of them 16:06 that love Me, and keep My commandments." 16:11 "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; 16:15 for the Lord will not hold him guiltless 16:18 that takes his name in vain". 16:21 Number four, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy; 16:27 six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; 16:31 but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord thy God. 16:38 Thou shalt not do any work therein, 16:40 thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, 16:45 nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, 16:48 nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger 16:51 that is within thy gates; 16:53 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, 16:59 and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: 17:04 wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, 17:08 and hallowed it. 17:10 Number five, "Honour thy father and thy mother: 17:15 that thy days may be long upon the land 17:17 which the Lord thy God giveth thee". 17:20 Number six, "Thou shalt not kill." 17:25 Number seven, "Thou shalt not commit adultery". 17:30 Number eight, "Thou shalt not steal". 17:34 Number nine, "Thou shalt not bear false witness 17:38 against thy neighbor". 17:41 Number ten, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, 17:45 nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, 17:49 nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything 17:53 that is thy neighbor's" 17:56 Every time I hear these words of our God, 18:00 my heart is touched by His love. 18:04 You see children He gave us His laws to protect us 18:07 from the evil in this world. 18:09 If we really love God, 18:12 we will be glad to obey His Ten Commandments. 18:15 For He gave in to us because He loves us. 18:20 What is that awful noise?
