00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so, 00:17 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi, boys and girls. 00:25 I would just practice with my sword 00:27 a little bit and just go... 00:32 Well, you know, what our Bible story today. 00:34 It talks about a Roman soldier who carried a sword. 00:37 He didn't carry a sword because 00:39 he liked to hurt people though. 00:41 He carried that because it was his job 00:43 to guard and very important too. 00:46 But because of an amazing thing that happened there, 00:48 people who had never known Jesus before 00:51 came to believe that He was truly God. 00:54 And that He loved them 00:56 and that he would save them from their sins. 00:59 You know, there is no greater power on earth, 01:02 certainly not some silly sword that can keep 01:05 Jesus away from the people He loves. 01:07 And boys and girls, He does love you. 01:12 Well, now let's go to the Florida Aquarium 01:14 where Ranger Jim is going to show us some Lionfish. 01:18 You thought I was gonna say lions, didn't you? 01:20 But these are beautiful fish 01:22 and they are called Lionfish. 01:24 Let's take a look. 01:32 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 01:34 welcome to Nature Time. 01:35 We're at beautiful Florida Aquarium at Tampa, Florida. 01:38 And my friend Harry is with me 01:39 and he is a Biologist on staff. 01:41 Harry, what are these beautiful creatures? 01:44 Oh, these beautiful creatures are Lionfish 01:46 and if you to see they are beautiful 01:48 and they get so much color and they have camouflage 01:52 and they are very aggressive haunting. 01:55 I see. And tell me about this. 01:57 I see they have sharp thorns on them? 01:59 Yeah, they have if you can see 02:01 on the fish right now just look at them. 02:03 And you can see how all these bar 02:05 are just kind of disguise in their body outline. 02:10 So they are not recognized by their prey 02:12 as a fish or as a hunter. 02:14 So that's why they have all those thorns. 02:16 Besides that, they can see you 02:18 and they can cause a very severe pain 02:20 when they do get you. 02:22 And so the danger is there, well camouflage 02:24 you might step on them, when you are at the beach. 02:26 You might step on them. 02:27 You may touch them by accident, 02:29 if you try to grab the rock 02:30 or something and may confuse. 02:32 Most of the time they gonna swim away from you. 02:34 That's why they gonna do but it could happen. 02:37 Now they're called a Lionfish. 02:39 Are they aggressive? Do they roar? 02:40 Oh, no. The reason why they are called Lionfish, 02:43 we're gonna see when we feed them, 02:45 you gonna see that in order to trap their prey 02:48 they left all their pectoral fins, they got four, 02:52 and they crawl on their prey right there. 02:54 Gather it right in? Exactly. 02:55 And once the prey is trapped they suck their prey. 02:59 They create a suction with their mouth. 03:00 And they just pull all the water 03:02 and the prey goes right into their mouth. 03:04 Isn't that? Yep. 03:05 Isn't that incredible? It is very amazing. 03:08 There are beautiful creatures 03:09 and I see they are down next to the sand, 03:11 is there anything significant about that? 03:13 Well the reason why they do that 03:15 is we use shrimp as a feed for them. 03:18 And the shrimp as soon as we put in the tank 03:20 is just fall down into the bottom. 03:23 And whatever makes up to the bottom, 03:25 if it does makes up to the bottom, and they go 03:28 and stand bottom looking for their prey. 03:31 And you can see right now they can recognize me 03:35 because I was earlier with a feeding container. 03:39 And they know this is feeding time. 03:40 Theirs food coming in and they are anxious to get it. 03:43 Okay. And so boys and girls, 03:45 earlier Harry and I were feeding the fish 03:48 and so we want you to see what it looks like 03:50 and this is what it looks like, 03:52 when you put the shrimp in the water. 03:55 And they are hungry, right. Look they're hungry. 03:57 Just look at how they are caroling the shrimp. 03:59 I mean it's amazing how fast they are. 04:02 And so they are hungry guys. And they recognize you. 04:04 They know that you have fresh shrimps for supper, right? 04:06 Oh, yes, yes. That's what is 04:07 on the menu for tonight for them. 04:09 Okay, and they live always in a rocky area. 04:13 They live in the coral or they... 04:15 Yeah, actually they live in a coral reef habitat, 04:17 and one of the sad thing about these species is 04:21 that their habitat has been pretty too much wiped out. 04:24 So if they don't habitat, they don't habitat obviously 04:27 these species eventually will be depleted. 04:31 Now, I would suppose that 04:33 their ability to sting is somewhat of 04:35 a defense mechanism against larger fish. 04:37 Exactly, that's a main mechanism. 04:40 All those thorns are on their body is to 04:42 appear to be big or so what they are. 04:44 And if any other predator try to attack them, 04:48 they would get a taste of what their thorns feel like. 04:51 Unfortunately, they don't have that many predators. 04:53 The biggest predator they have is us. 04:55 Me! Yeah, not because we eat it, 04:58 but a lot of people collect these species 05:01 for public aquarium industry, 05:04 especially for the pet industry. 05:05 And as they go collecting these animals 05:08 especially for the pet industry, 05:10 they destroy so many habitat 05:12 and corals and reef in order to capture one. 05:16 And so in order to get one of these to self 05:18 or pets for people to have in their aquariums 05:20 and whatever like that, they will destroy 05:22 the whole system by just walking through... 05:24 Yeah, and not everybody does 05:26 that but most of the collectors, 05:28 they do get involved in that time and activity. 05:30 The all the things that is depleting 05:32 their habitat is a global warming. 05:34 Global warming! Pollution. 05:36 Pollution! And things like that. 05:38 Okay, tell me about reproducing. 05:40 Do they, are they egg layers or they... 05:42 They are egg layer. 05:43 Actually I had opportunity to work with them before, 05:46 like reproducing activity, and they lay a bowl of eggs. 05:50 A bowl? Yeah, 05:51 just a mass of eggs and that's, 05:54 that could be above a 1,000 or 1,500 eggs 05:57 and that, and that's high. 05:58 And like mostly I suppose when they had 06:01 they are tiny and there are lots of people 06:02 there to eat them, right. Exactly. 06:04 They become biologic food for all the species. 06:07 So probably the survival rate of these species 06:09 in the world could be 5 percent. 06:12 5 percent? 5 to 10 percent the most. 06:15 Now, are they widely distributed 06:17 across the world or ... No, no, 06:19 actually their habitat is very limited. 06:21 They only belong to the tropical 06:24 in the Pacific Oceans and waters. 06:26 Well, they are a tremendous fish, boys and girls. 06:28 And they are very unusual and beautiful. 06:30 Yes, beautiful. And I would like to 06:32 thank Harry for being so kindness to come today 06:35 and talk to us, and explain about these fish. 06:37 Another one of the creatures that God has made for us 06:39 to see and study and understand and respect 06:43 and share this world with, our universe. 06:46 So thank you, boys and girls for being here 06:48 and sharing this time with us. 06:49 And as always Ranger Jim, saying don't forget 06:53 to tell Jesus that you love Him 06:54 because He really does love you. 07:06 Hi, boys and girls. 07:07 I'm here with my niece Rachel. 07:08 And Rachel I've been thinking, 07:10 it takes a lot of guts. 07:13 It took an often lot of guts 07:14 to do with these characters in the Bible. 07:18 Fighting giants and facing lions 07:20 that took a lot of guts. 07:22 Actually uncle Buddy I am inclined 07:24 to take that it took a lot of brains. 07:25 Brains but it takes intense effort to do, 07:28 to do those things. I know it does. 07:30 But it takes a lot of brains, you know, 07:31 that in Luke 1:37 it says, 07:34 "For with God nothing is impossible." 07:38 Boys and girls, I guess she is right. 07:39 Brains are more important than guts. 07:42 Chuck Fortworth has written a song called "Do You Dare?" 07:44 and we'd like to sing it for you now. 07:50 Do you dare to be a Daniel in the lion's den 07:54 Do you dare to be Moses when the march begins 07:57 Do you dare to be without the Son preach about sin 08:00 Then children you better pray, 08:03 You better pray, you better pray, 08:10 You better pray if you got to be 08:12 there on the Judgment Day. 08:16 Do you dare to be a Daniel in the lions' den 08:19 Do you dare to be Moses when the march begins 08:22 Do you dare to be without the Son preach about sin 08:25 Then children you better pray, 08:31 Do you dare to be a Joshua in the battle spot 08:34 Do you dare to be a Joseph when you are on his spot 08:37 Do you dare to be a Hebrew when the fire is up 08:40 Then children you better pray, 08:43 You better pray, you better pray 08:49 You better pray if you got 08:51 to be there on the Judgment Day. 08:56 Do you dare to be a Joshua in the battle spot 08:59 Do you dare to be a Joseph when you are on his spot 09:02 Do you dare to be a Hebrew when the fire is up 09:05 Then children you better pray, 09:10 Do you dare to be a Samuel when you hear the call 09:14 Do you dare to be a David in the wrath of Saul 09:16 Do you dare to be a Christian and give your own 09:19 Then children you better pray, 09:22 You better pray, you better pray 09:28 You better pray if you got 09:30 to be there on the Judgment Day. 09:34 Do you dare to be a Samuel when you hear the call 09:37 Do you dare to be David in the wrath of Saul 09:40 Do you dare to be a Christian and give your own 09:43 Then children you better pray, 09:47 Do you dare to be a Daniel Do you dare to be a Samuel 09:50 Do you dare to be a Moses Do you dare to be a Joseph 09:52 Then children you better pray, 10:08 Hi, boys and girls. Welcome to Learning Time. 10:11 I know that there is something that you can't see 10:14 but you know we can feel it. 10:16 Today, I've got two helpers with me. 10:18 I've got Jessica over here. And I've got Michael. 10:21 They're gonna help us today. 10:23 We're going to use two objects 10:25 you might even have these objects at home. 10:27 Let's take a look at one of these objects over here. 10:30 This happens to be a very, very large magnet. 10:34 Now would you hang on to that, Jessica for us? 10:36 And we've got another one right here. 10:38 These are match sets. They look alike, don't they? 10:41 I'm gonna give this to Michael right here. 10:43 Now magnets have North Pole ends 10:46 and they have South Pole ends. 10:48 What I want these two helpers to do today. 10:50 I want the North Pole in right here Jessica. 10:53 I want to touch the South Pole 10:55 end or is that the south? 10:57 No, it's not the South Pole end. 10:58 That's a North Pole end. 11:00 Do you think that we can get to North Pole ends 11:03 of our magnets to stick to each other? 11:05 Do you think it will happen? Yeah! 11:08 Well, let's find out. 11:09 Now let's get real close together. 11:10 I want the two North Pole ends to touch 11:13 and get them close and make those two top 11:15 on while come on you can do that? 11:16 Well, hey, the North Pole and the South Pole 11:19 like to stick to each other. 11:20 Let's try it again. Are you ready? 11:22 Okay, don't get your fingers on there 11:24 because they are really hurt. 11:25 Okay, try it again. 11:27 Well, we got a North Pole end 11:28 and a South Pole end together. 11:30 How about one more time. 11:31 Now this is the North Pole end, 11:34 this is the North Pole end. 11:35 And I want the two of those to touch. 11:37 Are you ready? All right, try it one more time. 11:39 Let's see if it's gonna work. 11:40 And they are close, oh and it can't be done, can it? 11:43 I will tell you what, let's do. 11:44 Jessica, I'm gonna take your magnet. 11:46 I'm gonna turn it over so that we'll have 11:49 a South Pole end and a North Pole end on the top, 11:52 a South Pole end on the bottom here 11:55 and the North Pole end over here. 11:57 And it might just stick together. 11:59 Let's see, go ahead and see if we can get them together? 12:00 Wow! I'm glad they didn't have their fingers together 12:04 because it might just pinch them. 12:06 Now go ahead and pull those apart for us. 12:08 Can you do that? 12:09 You think they can pull that a part? 12:11 Now if you have some magnets in home, 12:13 you might be able to pull them apart but these 12:15 magnets are so strong, it's hard to do that. 12:18 Let me help you to do this 12:20 and let's pull this apart, ready. 12:22 Wow! Now you know what so exciting. 12:26 When we learn something about science, 12:28 we're also learning something about our Creator God. 12:40 Yeah, you're right. 12:41 I'm not from here, I'm a Roman guard. 12:44 And not only I'm not from here. 12:46 I don't want to be here. 12:48 I would like to be back in Rome 12:51 where people actually appreciated us. 12:54 Yes, I was assigned to the Garden Tomb. 12:57 Again I said assigned 12:58 because I did not want to be there. 12:59 Look I've been watching this messiah fellow. 13:03 I saw this Simon of Cyrene carrying his cross. 13:07 I watched as I saw one of the, 13:09 one of the crucified fellows next to Him, 13:14 curse Him, and then I dropped my sword 13:20 as the earth began to quake 13:22 and I watched this man yell out. 13:25 "Father into Thy Hand I Commit my Spirit." 13:30 Yeah, I'll admit it. I was scared. 13:34 Romans aren't supposed to be afraid. 13:36 Well I thought my day was over. 13:38 I was gonna have a little 24 hour break but no, 13:41 the chief says now I got to go to the Garden Tomb. 13:45 Well I said, wait a minute. 13:46 Since when do we guard bodies? 13:51 I wasn't afraid of the disciples 13:52 because there is only really one that, 13:54 they hung around, the rest of them ran, 13:56 but then something very strange happened 13:57 as I'm at the Garden, I see two the richest men 14:01 in Jerusalem--Joseph of Arimathea 14:04 and Nicodemus, bringing the body of the Messiah. 14:11 I didn't know what to think, 14:13 two of the richest men in Jerusalem, 14:15 now following this Messiah. 14:17 Am I missing out on something? 14:20 Well, they told us to stay awake. 14:24 They put a Roman seal on the tomb, 14:26 so that no one would disturb it. 14:31 And everything was fine, until about sunrise. 14:37 The earth started to shake again. 14:40 My armor was shaking, my knees were shaking. 14:44 Then I saw a brightness that I, 14:46 I've never seen before. 14:48 There is a stone rolling back and there He was. 14:52 Jesus of Nazareth, in a resurrected body form. 14:56 I couldn't take the brightness. 14:59 I fell back. I thought what is going on. 15:06 I looked around for some comfort, 15:07 but my other buddies were doing the same thing. 15:10 This was a position we did not want to be in. 15:15 And then it happened. 15:18 He started walking right away from us. 15:23 I watched, I watched, and then I ran 15:26 as fast as I could into Jerusalem 15:29 to get around some normal situation. 15:33 Listen, I'm not telling you I'm a Christian. 15:37 But I've got some thinking I need to do. 15:40 Because you see, once you've seen 15:42 a dead man come back to life, 15:48 you've got some serious thinking to do. 15:52 There was also several things He said on the cross. 15:55 Not once did he curse, not once, 15:59 but what He did do was pray from the cross. 16:03 He was actually praying for God to forgive us 16:06 as we nailed Him there. Let me tell you something. 16:12 There is something supernatural that happened. 16:16 Yes, I still want to go back to Rome. 16:19 But when I get back to Rome, 16:21 I've got some serious thinking to do. 16:26 The Jewish leaders, they wanted us to lie. 16:29 They wanted us to say we have fallen asleep. 16:31 Right, and then be killed for falling asleep at the post. 16:34 No way! Even the Jewish leaders were afraid. 16:39 The Roman leaders were afraid. 16:42 I just want to get out of here. 16:43 I want to go back to Rome. 16:45 I've got some things. 16:46 I need to talk over with my wife, and kids. 16:50 Let me tell you something. 16:52 There could be something to this Jewish Messiah. 16:56 It's got to be, He was dead, He is alive. 17:04 To me perhaps if it's all really true, 17:11 maybe I was suppose to be at this tomb. 17:16 And may be Christianity will even move into Rome. 17:26 I might have some stories to tell my neighbors in Rome. 17:33 I just need to think some more. 17:51 Do you ever feel afraid, even David was 17:55 a brave warrior and a mighty king, felt afraid at times. 18:00 Did you know what he did? 18:02 Well that's what he wrote in the book of Psalms, 18:05 "Then you'll know what to do next time, you feel afraid" 18:09 from Psalm 56, verse 3 and 4, 18:13 "When I am afraid, I will trust in you, 18:16 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust." 18:26 When I am afraid, I will trust in you 18:32 I will trust in you, I will trust in you 18:38 When I am afraid, I will trust in you 18:43 In God, whose word I praise 18:48 When I am afraid, I will trust in you 18:53 I will trust in you, I will trust in you 18:59 When I am afraid, I will trust in you 19:04 In God, whose word I praise 19:09 In God, I trust When I am afraid 19:19 In God, I trust In God, whose word I praise 19:33 When I am afraid, I will trust in you 19:38 I will trust in you, I will trust in you 19:45 When I am afraid, I will trust in you, 19:50 In God, whose word I praise. 19:55 I trust you Lord, I really, really, really do. 20:13 I am so excited, I am sitting here 20:16 reading your letters and I love 20:17 getting your letters boys and girls. 20:19 But you know what? 20:20 This letter made me a little sad. 20:21 You know why? 20:22 Because there was no written address on the letter. 20:26 And that means I can't answer the letter, 20:28 and I can't write you back. 20:29 This letter says, dear Miss Brenda. 20:31 I love your show and it really helped me 20:33 learn more about Jesus. 20:35 My name is Antonique and I'm 10 years old 20:38 and I hope you keep up the good work 20:39 of inspiring other people for Jesus. 20:42 And it says, love Antonique and I drew your picture 20:44 and you sure did Antonique, 20:45 I'm gonna show you're picture. 20:46 It says that you would like to join Kids Club. 20:49 So Antonique I want to encourage you to 20:51 please write to me and send me your written address. 20:54 So I can get you signed up 20:55 and get those Bible lessons out to you. 20:58 And also I can answer your letters. 20:59 So if you would do that, I would love it. 21:01 But before I read any more letters, 21:03 I have a couple of really special people 21:05 I want you to meet. 21:06 I want you to meet Megan and Austin 21:07 who are with me today. 21:09 Thank you, Megan and Austin for coming to Kids Time. 21:11 I'm so excited to have you here. 21:13 Thank you. Well, I want to know, 21:15 what it is that you do to share Jesus. 21:17 Can you tell me Megan? I make communion bread. 21:21 Now, why do you make communion bread? 21:24 It's for Church. It's for Church, okay. 21:26 But is that your job to make communion bread? 21:28 No. No, so how can you make it? 21:31 My grandma, she hurt her hip 21:32 and she asked me if I wanted to do it. 21:35 So is it normally your grandma's job? Yes. 21:37 Oh! Now did you get paid for this? 21:39 Yes. So you'll try into, 21:41 you earning some money, aren't you? Yes. 21:42 What else did you do to earn money? 21:44 Me and my cousin we wash lots and lots and lots of dishes. 21:48 You wash dishes. I think we have a picture, 21:50 you washing dishes, don't we? Right, here. 21:52 This is what your cousin's name? 21:54 Shianne. Shianne, so this is you, 21:56 Shianne, and Megan washing dishes. 21:58 Well, that's awesome you've done 21:59 lots of other jobs too you to earn money. 22:01 Well Austin, what have you done for your job? 22:04 Now you've been trying to earn money too. 22:06 What are you doing for work? 22:08 I am, I did my grandma's garden. 22:11 I pushed a little tilt garden that don't have a motor. 22:16 I just done it, so I can earn money. 22:19 You did, I think we have a picture 22:21 of you in the garden too, 22:22 let's look and see if we have right here. 22:25 There is a picture in the garden, 22:26 and there you are plowing in the field. 22:28 Was that hard work? 22:30 Yeah. Was that hard work? 22:32 It was. Ah! And it was probably 22:34 hot out there doing that too. Wasn't it? 22:36 Now why are both of you earning money? 22:38 What do you wanted to do to earn, 22:40 why are you wanted to earn money? 22:43 So we can send picture rolls 22:44 and Bible Studies to East Africa. 22:47 Now, why would you wanted to that? 22:49 Because everybody needs to know about God. 22:51 You know, what are your absolutely right. 22:53 Let's look at one of those picture rolls. 22:54 Let's see what a picture roll is? 22:56 And this is not wanted to come down by itself, is it. 22:59 So let's try here so if I can just, 23:02 roll this down, this is not. Okay, here we go. 23:07 And this has all different 23:08 kinds of pictures on it, doesn't it? 23:11 It sure does and says, who is this Austin? 23:15 Is that Daniel in the lions' den 23:17 and there is a memory verse for each one 23:19 and that helps people learn about Jesus. 23:21 Doesn't it?
