00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus.
00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so,
00:16 let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hi, boys and girls.
00:25 Have any of you ever ridden on a camel?
00:28 You know, what? I know, I haven't,
00:29 but it sounds like a lot fun, doesn't it?
00:32 As you can see, I've a toy camel right here
00:34 and this camel, can you see this camel
00:36 is all saddled up ready for a ride?
00:38 But it has a hump right under here
00:42 and if I pull this right here,
00:43 maybe you can see right there,
00:44 it's got a hump on his back
00:46 and some camels even have two humps on their backs.
00:49 So if you decide to ride on the camel,
00:51 I think you're gonna want a very special kind of saddle
00:53 to fit over that hump.
00:55 Otherwise, you're in for a very uncomfortable ride.
00:58 But today's Bible Story tells about a man
01:00 who not only rode a camel, but who took care of camels,
01:04 and lots of camels, but he didn't do it alone.
01:08 He met someone, a beautiful young woman who helped him.
01:11 Now this young woman was really a teenage girl,
01:15 and she was strong and she was so full of energy
01:18 that she carried huge jars of water back and forth,
01:21 up and down many steps
01:23 just to water a herd of camels for man,
01:25 she didn't even know.
01:27 But what I like best about this girl
01:30 is not that she was strong, but that she was kind.
01:35 You know, some wonderful things happened to this girl
01:37 because of her kindness
01:38 and you're going to learn more about that
01:40 in our Bible Story today.
01:42 But it is a good thing
01:44 to be kind even if no one ever says, thank you.
01:47 Do you know, my dad always tell me
01:49 when I was a little girl.
01:51 He would say, Brenda,
01:52 if you ever do something nice for someone
01:54 and you expect a thank you.
01:57 He said, then you did it for the wrong reason.
02:00 And we don't want to do it for the wrong reason.
02:02 We should, we should want to be kind to someone,
02:06 even if no one even notices
02:07 because being kind is one way of sharing Jesus, isn't it?
02:12 And we want to show Jesus everyday
02:14 how much we love Him.
02:16 Well, now Ranger Jim is going to show us
02:18 some jellies, wonder what that is.
02:28 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim, saying
02:30 welcome to Nature Time.
02:31 We're glad you can join us today.
02:32 We're at beautiful Florida Aquarium at Tampa, Florida.
02:35 And we are deep within the aquarium
02:38 and you may hear some music in the background
02:40 and some sounds of other people around us,
02:42 but we have something very special
02:44 for you to see today.
02:46 And my friend Eric is here,
02:48 he is the Senior Biologist at the aquarium.
02:50 What are these beautiful creatures?
02:52 These are Jellyfish. Jellyfish.
02:55 I should probably stay right off by saying,
02:57 they're not fish.
02:58 So we'll just call them Jellies. Okay.
03:00 But check this one out coming right over the top.
03:02 Oh! He is pulsing away there.
03:04 Now some of that moment is from the current
03:06 in this special tank we call the kreisel tank.
03:09 Kreisel is a German word for carousel
03:11 because they are all kind of cruising
03:13 around like a carousel, yeah.
03:15 So even though these guys are big,
03:17 we can still think of them as plankton
03:19 because they are animals
03:20 that depend on the currents of the sea
03:21 to take them around. Wonderful.
03:24 Now they also depend on those currents
03:26 to get to their food.
03:27 And when we see this jelly comeback around again
03:29 and specifically this is called a Brown Sea Nettle,
03:33 or a big name Chrysaora fuscescens.
03:36 Oh! You'll find these on the West Coast of America,
03:38 off of California for instance,
03:39 in cool water about 55 degrees in there,
03:42 too chilly for us to go swimming
03:43 and that's for sure.
03:44 But these arms that are coming down
03:46 from that big top are called the bell.
03:49 Well, the big curly arms that come down
03:51 are called the oral arms, and they rake in food,
03:54 tiny food like, well, you can't see it,
03:56 but there are thousands of shrimp in there.
03:59 If you've ever seen a Sea-Monkey kit,
04:00 that's why we raise for food for these guys.
04:02 About the size of black pepper.
04:03 That's right, yeah.
04:04 But they're each tiny little shrimp,
04:06 so they shifting those out of the water, filter feeding.
04:09 But then those long tentacles
04:11 that trail down to side look like dark brown dreadlocks
04:15 that are hanging down there,
04:16 those are the stinging tentacle.
04:17 Oh, that's bad news.
04:18 They pack a wallet
04:19 and they're filled with tiny little cells
04:21 that are all round up like little harpoons,
04:23 and when you touch them, they shoot right into it
04:25 and inject you with painful acid. Yeah.
04:28 Nothing too good about that, but that doesn't mean,
04:30 you should be afraid of this
04:32 because you pretty much have to swim
04:33 right into a Jellyfish,
04:34 they're not going to come after you. Right.
04:36 And normally they're out in the water far
04:38 away from where you swim.
04:39 And if you should brush against
04:40 when we are to beach, what should you do?
04:42 Well, you know, what?
04:43 The best thing to do is don't rub stand in it
04:45 and don't try to touch it anymore than you have to.
04:47 It's always good to tell an adult and get some help.
04:49 What they're gonna want to do is
04:50 take the tentacle off of your arm
04:52 and this happens to me when I work with these guys,
04:54 but I've kind of get used to,
04:55 in fact my skin is a little itchy
04:56 right now from these guys, but that's okay.
04:59 You also want to make sure, you get that tentacle off
05:01 and then it's good to have something
05:03 like meat tenderizer,
05:04 it's the papaya extract in there,
05:06 it kind of breaks down the toxin
05:08 and makes you feel better.
05:09 But the best thing you could do
05:11 is just get the adults help like a lifeguard
05:13 or get to a doctor
05:14 because there's always a possibility
05:16 of any kind of sting like a beat
05:17 that you might get an allergic reaction.
05:19 Now, tell me about reproduction
05:21 in these creatures.
05:22 How does this go about, how this...?
05:23 Sure, well, for such a simple animal,
05:25 it's a long road to make it to an adult Jellyfish.
05:29 Now like a lot of animals
05:30 they're gonna lay eggs into the water
05:32 and those fertilized eggs make their way into the water
05:35 and they grow into what we call the larvae,
05:37 a tiny little microscopic larvae that swims,
05:40 it's called the planula.
05:41 And it settles down in the ocean bottom,
05:43 so thousands of these will sit down
05:45 and then they sprout up,
05:46 almost like a seed grows into a plant,
05:48 they grow into a polyp.
05:50 If you've seen a sea anemone or coral polyp. Right.
05:52 They live the same way, they're related to them
05:54 Just taking what comes by from the water.
05:56 Yeah, they're already filter feeding,
05:58 but guess what they do next?
05:59 They clone themselves and they divide again
06:02 and again and again
06:03 and cover a whole surface with polyps,
06:05 that's how I raised Jellyfish here
06:06 at the Florida Aquarium.
06:08 And when those things have cloned enough times,
06:11 then they get a signal from nature,
06:13 sometimes the temperature change,
06:14 or some kind of natural signal it says,
06:17 it's time to divide again.
06:18 Now it start dividing like this,
06:19 like a stack of saucers. Wow!
06:21 And they're still tiny,
06:22 they're still he size of snowflakes,
06:24 when they pop off and we call those a ephyra.
06:27 There is no real common name for them,
06:28 but you can think of them as tiny brown snowflakes.
06:31 And in our tanks we've raised them
06:32 and it'll be filled with little brown snowflakes,
06:35 like a snow globe you shook up,
06:36 except they're all alive and they're all swimming
06:38 and they're eating that same tiny kit there.
06:40 Tiny little animals.
06:41 Yep, and then they grow
06:43 and they start to look like Jellyfish,
06:45 and that's when we call them a medusa.
06:46 That's why we call these medusoids here,
06:48 and that's true for all the jellyfish.
06:51 And what do you feed them here?
06:53 Well, besides plankton.
06:54 We feed them, sometimes, in the wild
06:56 they eat another type of animal
06:58 that we can see here at the Florida Aquarium too
07:00 in the tank right next door,
07:01 it's called the comb jellyfish or a ctenophore.
07:03 Oh, I saw those look like little filaments
07:05 almost like they're light.
07:06 Almost like they're electric or lightening up.
07:09 We call them comb jellyfish
07:10 because down the side of these little blobs of jelly
07:13 are these wiggling little paddles
07:15 that help propel them through the water
07:16 and they catch the light just right,
07:18 just like you might look through a prism
07:20 or a piece of glass and make a rainbow.
07:22 And that's why they look like they are electric,
07:24 but guess, what else they can do?
07:25 You can see those guys at night
07:27 because even though its totally dark,
07:29 if you giggle them, they're bioluminescent,
07:32 they glow in the dark.
07:34 It's amazing what they can...
07:36 It is amazing, boys and girl,
07:37 hasn't this been a wonderful time.
07:39 Eric, I want to thank you for coming and sharing with us.
07:41 You have made it so pleasant to be here,
07:43 so knowledgeable, boys and girls.
07:45 And we have learned so many wonderful things from Eric,
07:48 about the creatures had God has made for us
07:50 to see, and study, and enjoy, and share our world with.
07:54 So, as always, boys and girls,
07:56 Ranger Jim, telling you
07:58 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him
08:00 because He really does love you.
08:12 Hello, boys and girls.
08:13 I'm here with Kristen Nicole, and Krista,
08:15 what would make you happy?
08:17 A week off from school and my two front teeth.
08:22 Oh, you could use a couple of front teeth, couldn't you?
08:27 You know, what make me happy
08:28 is getting a letter that says in it,
08:31 that I'm gonna live in the mansion
08:33 and I'm gonna be heir to a kingdom.
08:37 But, Uncle Buddy, there is already a letter
08:39 that tells you that. That's right.
08:45 The Bible says, that I'm gonna be
08:46 heir to God's kingdom
08:47 and I'm gonna live in a mansion in heaven,
08:49 that should make me happy.
08:53 [Playing Trumpet]
09:06 You Should Be happy God loves you,
09:09 You should be happy Jesus died for you,
09:13 That alone makes life complete
09:16 It's such good news I must repeat.
09:19 You should be happy God's not dead,
09:22 He's the same today as when He left,
09:26 The children of Israel went into deep Red Sea,
09:29 And that should make you happy.
09:35 You should be happy when church bells ring,
09:39 You should be happy there is song to sing,
09:42 You should be happy there is freedom from sin,
09:45 It's such good news, I'll say it again.
09:48 You should be happy that you're on air
09:51 To all the fine riches there are to share
09:54 With each new member of the family,
09:57 And that should make you happy.
10:07 I'm so happy for each new hour,
10:10 I can feel His saving power,
10:14 Since I met Jesus I'm not the same,
10:16 It's such a thrill I must proclaim,
10:20 I'm so happy that God loves me,
10:23 I'm so happy Jesus died for me,
10:26 I'm so happy that God loves you,
10:29 And that should make you happy.
10:44 Welcome boys and girls.
10:45 Welcome to Learning Time.
10:47 Today, boy, are we ever gonna make something special.
10:51 In fact, you know what?
10:52 It's something that we see all of the time
10:54 and it's outside and it floats around
10:57 and it rides in the air,
10:59 what do you supposed it is? A cloud.
11:01 A cloud, we're gonna make a cloud right here.
11:04 Have you ever made a cloud in your house?
11:07 Well, I tell you what?
11:08 We're gonna make one right here today.
11:10 I'm gonna wear my special safety glasses,
11:13 and we've got a few in the front row
11:14 and the second row, put your safety glasses on today.
11:17 And you at home, you know what?
11:19 You might want to get your safety glasses too.
11:22 And now I've got a pair of gloves.
11:23 Now gloves protect our hands.
11:25 Today, I'm gonna work with something
11:26 really, really cold.
11:27 We're gonna make something extremely cold.
11:30 Have you ever heard of dry ice?
11:33 Yeah, yeah! You want some?
11:34 Dry ice is much colder than the ice
11:36 in your refrigerator at home.
11:38 In fact, it's a minus 100 and about 25 degrees.
11:42 I've got a big tank right here,
11:43 and this tank has carbon dioxide in it.
11:46 I want you to take a deep breathe for me.
11:49 Now let it out.
11:51 Most of the air that we breathe out
11:52 is carbon dioxide air.
11:54 Now I'm gonna take this red bag,
11:57 and I'm gonna put this red back
11:58 right on top of my valve, let's put it on here.
12:01 This makes kind of a horrible noise,
12:04 so you might want to cover your ears, okay.
12:06 And you're at home you might want to cover your ears too.
12:09 Are you ready? All right, here we go.
12:10 We're gonna fill this up with carbon dioxide gas.
12:13 Are you ready? Yes!
12:15 All right, let's do it, wow!
12:21 Man, there's a lot of noise.
12:28 Wow! Was that a loud noise? No, no!
12:31 Oh, it was loud for me.
12:33 Now I'm gonna take, does that bag
12:35 look different to you now? Yeah!
12:37 Oh, it does, and if you can see inside.
12:39 Can you see inside of this bag? Yeah.
12:41 We're gonna take that carbon dioxide gas
12:43 we made something called dry ice.
12:46 And you know what? What is this look like?
12:50 It looks like snow, it's not snow,
12:52 it's much colder than the snow
12:54 that you get at your house, if you get snow.
12:57 Now we're gonna make that beautiful cloud
12:59 that I talked about.
13:00 Are you ready for this? Yeah, yeah!
13:02 All we have to do
13:03 is we're gonna take some hot water,
13:05 and I'm going to pour this hot water right in here.
13:07 We're gonna cool down those water model,
13:10 those water molecules that we can't see.
13:13 They're in the air all the time,
13:14 but we can't see them.
13:16 When we cool them down they can dance.
13:18 We're gonna get a beautiful cloud.
13:20 Are you ready? Yeah, yeah!
13:21 How about three, two, one?
13:25 let's watch that beautiful cloud.
13:28 Wow! Wow!
13:29 Is that a beautiful cloud?
13:32 Man, that's a beautiful cloud.
13:34 And that's the way clouds are made outside.
13:37 The water molecules that are in the air
13:38 get so cold that they make those wonderful clouds
13:42 that we have outside, isn't that wonderful?
13:45 Oh, yeah, and you know what?
13:46 If it wasn't for those clouds,
13:48 we wouldn't have rain.
13:50 Every time, boys and girls,
13:52 we learn something new about science,
13:54 we're learning about our Creator, God.
14:07 Oh, these gloves,
14:09 they're so dirty from my long trip.
14:12 Hope I get them clean.
14:14 Oh hi, kids.
14:17 Ooh! I bet you wonder who I am.
14:20 I'm Rebekah's maid.
14:22 Rebekah and I just got here to the Land of Canaan
14:27 it's so pretty here.
14:30 You know, Rebekah is Isaac's new wife.
14:35 Oh, isn't she a pretty lady?
14:37 She is so pretty on the outside,
14:39 but, you know, she's even prettier inside of her heart?
14:44 She, I've known her ever since
14:47 she was just a little girl.
14:49 She was always so kind to everyone.
14:53 Well, let me tell you, why we're here?
14:56 One day Rebekah was at the well,
14:59 you see, she always went to the well
15:02 to get water for her family.
15:04 And this one day she had just brought the water up
15:09 and she noticed
15:10 a man standing beside her with lots of camels.
15:15 The man looked at her and she smiled and he said,
15:18 could I have a drink of water?
15:21 And she said, of course,
15:22 you can have a drink of water.
15:24 And while you're drinking,
15:27 could I water all of your, all of the camels?
15:31 Oh, that would be nice, he said.
15:34 So Rebekah made trip after trip
15:37 down to the well to bring water for the camels.
15:42 When she was finally finished with the last camel,
15:46 he went over to his bag and he opened up his bag,
15:50 and he pulled out some gold and some silver ornaments.
15:55 He handed them to her.
15:58 She looked at them and wondered, why?
16:01 And he said, while for giving water to all of my animals.
16:06 She said I didn't do it to get paid for
16:09 I just did it because it needs to be done.
16:14 And then Eliezer,
16:16 that's the man with all the, all of the camels.
16:20 Eliezer said to her, he said, who's your father?
16:25 And he, she said, my father is Bethuel
16:30 and my brother is Laban.
16:34 Oh, at that Eliezer fell on his knees
16:38 and he prayed to the great God of Heaven.
16:41 And he said, thank you God for bringing me
16:45 to my kinfolks, thank you.
16:50 When Rebekah heard this,
16:52 she could hardly believe her ears.
16:55 And so they invited them in,
16:57 and oh my, everyone was busy talking finding out,
17:02 what had happened at home with Abraham?
17:05 Abraham had been blessed by God.
17:08 And God had given him many, many riches
17:12 and lots of animals,
17:13 but most of all a very important son, Isaac.
17:18 Eliezer had been praying for just the right girl
17:23 to come to the well, and that that girl would feed,
17:27 give some water to all of the animals.
17:31 When Rebekah heard this,
17:33 she knew that she was an answer
17:37 to Eliezer's prayer.
17:41 Her father said, yes, you may go if you like.
17:44 She said, I would love to go.
17:46 I want to do God's will.
17:48 And so, Rebekah, got everything ready
17:52 and maid we had to pack so fast.
17:54 I hardly had, had the time to tell everyone goodbye,
17:59 but we did leave and we came here,
18:01 we're so glad to be here now.
18:04 Rebekah is so happy.
18:06 I've never seen her so happy.
18:09 And Isaac, I can tell that,
18:11 Isaac really loves, Rebekah.
18:15 Oh, oh, I must hurry now, and get my laundry done.
18:20 Good bye.

20:08 for that beautiful song, you know, what?
20:09 It looked like a lot of fun
20:11 riding those ponies, didn't it?
20:13 Well, I'm reading some letters, boys and girls
20:15 I'd like to share with you.
20:16 This one here is from Anna,
20:17 and she is from Washougal, Washington.
20:20 And she sent a picture,
20:21 even I'm gonna show you the picture
20:23 while I read the letter here.
20:24 It says, dear, Miss Brenda, I'm seven years old.
20:27 And it said, I share Jesus
20:29 by helping a man believe in Jesus.
20:30 He had been baptized three times before,
20:33 and I gave him some literature and booklets
20:35 and a Bible that you can understand, love, Anna.
20:39 Well, thank you Anna, for that letter.
20:40 And you know what? I want you to
20:42 keep witnessing to him too, and pray for him, will you?
20:45 I have a letter here from Vancleave, Mississippi.
20:48 Let's see who is sending this one.
20:50 It says, Melinda, Madison, and Maya.
20:53 Well, let's look at this
20:55 and she has got stickers all over this one.
20:57 It says, dear, Miss Brenda.
20:59 Hi, our names are Melinda, Madison, and Maya
21:01 and we share Jesus by giving food
21:03 to families who don't have any.
21:05 Could you please send us Kids Time,
21:06 Activity Books, thank you.
21:08 Well, yes, I'll send those books.
21:09 Giving food to people is a wonderful way
21:11 to share Jesus, isn't it?
21:13 And you know what? They drew
21:14 and I've a picture here.
21:16 Oh, look at this,
21:17 they drew a picture and they said,
21:18 something very important on this,
21:20 it says, "Say no to drugs."
21:23 Do you see that?
21:24 And I'm really couldn't stress it
21:26 strongly enough boys and girls,
21:28 to say no to drugs.
21:29 That's not something that Jesus wants us do.
21:31 We stay away from that.
21:33 All right, here is one from Rebekah,
21:36 from Springfield, Oregon.
21:38 I love that name, Rebekah.
21:39 Rebekah was my grandmother's name,
21:41 and I named my older's daughter, Rebekah.
21:43 And so I really like that, and you know what?

22:18 and maybe that's a picture of her
22:20 when she goes to heaven and she gets her crown,
22:23 wouldn't that be nice?

23:13 love, Jonathan?
23:14 Please send me a Kids Time Activity Book.
