00:03 It's time to share there's a world out
00:06 there, looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out 00:13 there; let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:17 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi boys and girls, I have in my hands 00:26 a crystal ball. Well, it's not really 00:31 a real crystal ball, this one actually 00:33 belongs on a lamp, but did you know 00:36 that there are many people in the world 00:38 who believe that they can find out what 00:39 the future holds by visiting someone with 00:42 the crystal ball. This someone will look 00:45 into the ball and they will tell you all kinds 00:48 of things like they, they'll predict what's 00:50 going to happen in the future. 00:51 Maybe they'll say something like oh! 00:53 You're gonna be going on a long trip 00:56 or they might look into the ball and say, 00:59 oh! Something terrible is going to 01:01 happen to you. But do you know what? 01:04 The Bible tells us never to trust in 01:06 people like that. The only one who 01:08 really knows what the future holds is 01:10 God and because He does know what 01:12 the future holds He has been known 01:14 to reveal it sometimes to very special 01:17 chosen people and that person is 01:20 called a prophet. Now, a prophet's main 01:23 task however is not something to tell 01:24 the future, but to give good advice 01:27 and to counsel and guide people according 01:29 to God's will. Our Bible story 01:32 today tells about four girls sisters, 01:35 all of whom were prophets. 01:37 Now, that must have been a very 01:38 interesting family, don't you think? 01:41 I wish I could have sat around their dinner 01:42 table and had a nice long conversation 01:45 with them. Well, we will learn a little 01:47 more about them in just a little bit, 01:49 but first Ranger Jim is going to show us a very 01:53 big tortoise, some people call them a 01:56 turtle, but Ranger Jim tells me it's a tortoise. 02:06 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:08 welcome to Nature Time. Look what we have today. 02:10 We're at Lion Country Safari, West Palm Beach, 02:12 Florida. And look at this beautiful creature. 02:14 Sherri, what is this thing? 02:16 This is an Aldabra tortoise. 02:18 What was the name? Aldabra. 02:20 Aldabra tortoise, okay. Where does it 02:25 come from? Aldabra. Aldabra, I see, 02:29 wonderful. How much does this creature weigh? 02:31 He probably is pretty heavy; 02:32 I would say he weighs 400-500 pounds. 02:35 Marvelous and his beautiful shell, 02:37 all the lines on his shells and stuff. 02:40 How big are they when they start in life? 02:42 They are very small and their hatchlings 02:43 are probably, they could fit in the 02:45 palm of my hand when they're, 02:46 when they're first hatched. 02:47 And the female would they have 02:48 any eggs perhaps. Oh! So, they lay quite 02:50 a few eggs because it's very difficult for 02:52 these guys to, to get a growing starting life, 02:55 so they have to lay quite a few eggs in order 02:58 for just a few to survive. 02:59 Just a very few survive like this is, 03:00 so this is one of the fortune one, 03:02 and you say this is a male. This is a male, 03:03 this is a Lance. Lance? Okay. Yes, 03:06 you can actually tell he's a male 03:09 two different ways, he's quite a bit bigger 03:10 than the females, which you would 03:11 know if you didn't see a female near him. 03:13 And also you can tell by looking at their 03:15 under shell. The under shell 03:17 actually is very concave in the males 03:19 where it's very flat in the females. 03:21 Oh! That's neat and what about his 03:22 legs and his feet? I was amazed to 03:24 see this creature get up and walking that 03:26 powerful. He is very strong, 03:28 in order to be able to carry all that weight, 03:29 he's got to have some very, very strong legs. 03:32 Okay, now you, you say this is a tortoise. 03:35 What is, tell us about the difference in 03:36 tortoise and turtles? Turtles tend to spend 03:39 more time in the water; tortoises spend 03:41 more time on the land. Doesn't mean that 03:43 they can't swim because he is a very 03:44 good swimmer when he wants to swim, 03:46 but he prefers to be on the land and any 03:49 grasses and. Much the same, 03:52 he would be equivalent to his diet and how, 03:55 how he travels and what do the Eastern Box 03:57 Turtle that we have in the Midwest especially 04:01 in United States that calls along the same 04:02 way of feeding, except he is bigger. 04:04 He is much bigger. 04:05 He is actually. Yes, he is much bigger. 04:06 There is some debate as whether or not this 04:08 is the largest or the second largest, 04:10 there is also a Galapagos tortoise and some 04:13 people say that the Galapagos are the 04:14 biggest, another people say that the 04:15 Aldabras are the biggest. And he would differ 04:17 from what I would describing in the 04:19 box turtle, in fact that they, 04:20 they are omnivores they would eat almost 04:21 anything and you say this creature 04:22 is practically veg. He is pretty much 04:24 vegetarian. He will occasionally 04:26 eat some bugs here and there, 04:27 but he is basically vegetarian, 04:29 he likes to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables 04:31 and heavy leaves and grasses, and. And that, 04:34 so that what you would feed him plus a 04:36 commercial mix perhaps for vitamins and 04:38 minerals supplements. Well, what is one of 04:41 his favorite foods that he likes? Bananas, 04:43 he loves bananas. Bananas okay, 04:44 he's in Ranger Jim's category. 04:46 I love Bananas. Does he have powerful 04:49 jaws or he? Very powerful, powerful jaw, 04:51 they does, they don't actually have teeth, 04:53 but what they have is serrated beak 04:55 almost like a bird beak and it can be very, very 04:58 powerful, it could easily snap a, 05:00 a branch especially a twig very easily. 05:03 And so, he has no trouble when you give 05:04 him ahead of lettuce he has no trouble eating. 05:06 No trouble eating and whatsoever he can, 05:08 he will take by tide of an apple and, 05:10 and all that was no problem. Okay, 05:11 does he, does he have a tail? 05:13 He does have a little bit of a tail, 05:14 it's very difficult to see when he is not, 05:18 when he is walking like this, 05:19 but he does have a tail. He usually keeps it 05:21 tugged up under the shell. 05:23 Well, when these creatures, 05:25 how long would it take a creature to get 05:26 to be this size, this is a mature. 05:29 This is, believe it or not, these guys can live 05:31 to be about a 150 years. Oh! My 150 years. 05:34 Right, and I'm sure, if we have an exact 05:37 age on Lancelot here, but one of the problems 05:41 is that animal that are this old, 05:43 we don't always have records that 05:44 go back as long as the animals do, 05:45 because the animals have been here 05:46 longer than our records. In zoo. Exactly, 05:48 so we're not quite sure exactly how, 05:51 how old he is, but we know that he, 05:52 they can live up to about 150 years. 05:55 Hundred and fifty years, isn't that amazing 05:57 boys and girls? And he starts out 05:58 this size and only a few, if the mother lays 06:02 200-300 eggs they are maybe just 4 or 5. 06:05 I'm just picking a number that's not terribly 06:07 accurate, but very few of those to start 06:10 because when they make a dash for it from 06:12 the sand where the mother laid the eggs, 06:14 there are many creatures out there looking 06:16 for them. Exactly, gulls and all kinds of 06:18 fishes and things of that nature, 06:20 and so only a few survive and we're happy 06:22 that he did, and we could come 06:23 this afternoon and see him. 06:25 So, boys and girls as always Ranger 06:27 Jim saying, don't forget to tell Jesus that 06:29 you love Him because He really does love you. 06:44 Seems like every time we come down 06:45 here boys and girls. Miss Brenda has 06:47 more and more flowers. I hope she doesn't mind, 06:51 but I want to draw on that one right there. 06:54 Promises, promises, promises. Does anybody 06:57 ever keep their promises? I'm so mad. 07:00 Cool off you, what's up? Yesterday, 07:03 I told Melissa about the secret that Michelle 07:06 likes this one guy and five hours 07:09 later its in the newspaper. Telephone, 07:13 television, Tel-Melissa. Yeah, well, 07:17 yesterday my teacher, she promised me 07:19 for sure that we won't gonna have any 07:21 quiz at all and today we had three 07:23 quizzes. Oh! That's not good. Yeah, oh! 07:27 And last week for sure that my mom 07:30 promised me that we were gonna go shopping 07:32 and I couldn't wait and today, 07:35 do these look like any new clothes? 07:37 I don't think so. Well, Debbie it sounds 07:39 like you've had a lot of broken promises lately. 07:44 Boys and girls there is someone who has 07:46 made a lot of promises and he's kept every 07:48 one and that's God. The Bible is full 07:51 of promises. One of my favorites is when 07:53 He told Noah, I am never ever 07:56 gonna send a flood again, never gonna destroy 07:58 the earth and he sent a rainbow, 08:00 a beautiful rainbow to show us. 08:03 Boys and girls, a rainbow is a promise. 08:06 God always keeps His promises. 08:18 The rainbow is the promise in the sky 08:22 There'll never be another flood 08:24 where all the people die 08:26 Till Jesus comes to take us all with him to be 08:30 The rainbow is the promise in the sky 08:37 The rainbow is the promise all is well 08:41 There'll never be another flood, 08:42 a story we could tell 08:44 Till Jesus comes to take us all with him to be 08:48 The rainbow is the promise all is well 08:55 The rainbow is the promise for you and me 08:59 There'll never be another flood for all eternity 09:03 Till Jesus comes to take us all with him to be 09:06 The rainbow is the promise for you and me 09:12 The rainbow is the promise for you and me 09:25 Hi, today we are gonna make a recipe 09:26 that's probably gonna be the easiest 09:28 recipe you ever make. In fact, 09:30 it only has two ingredients. 09:32 Now, I am gonna put the recipe on 09:33 the screen for you, but you 09:34 probably don't need it. 09:36 4 to 5 cups of cooked rice and 1 09:39 (20 oz jar) of mild salsa or picante sauce. 09:45 Now, I already have my rice cooked in 09:46 a rice cooker here and I like to use, 09:47 I always use a rice cooker because 09:49 it always has the rice perfect every time. 09:53 And I'm gonna go ahead and put the rice 09:56 in and this is I like to use white and 09:58 brown rice mixed, but you can use 10:01 whatever it's, whatever you like, 10:02 you, you can use all white rice or all brown 10:05 rice whatever you prefer. And you can, 10:09 this really you don't need to measure, 10:13 this recipe at all because it's just 10:15 however you like it, if you like a dry 10:17 you can have a dry and if you like it wet, 10:19 more wet with salsa you can make it 10:21 like that too. Okay, I am grinding all salsa 10:27 and the reason there's only two ingredients 10:29 is because in the salsa it has your, 10:31 your peppers and your onions and all 10:33 the seasonings to make it taste good now. 10:37 Go ahead and just start stirring and then 10:39 as you do it, if you like it a little bit more 10:42 salsa and more red then you can add more. 10:46 I think I am gonna add more, 10:47 I think I like a little bit more salsa. 10:54 There we go, and you're just gonna mix 10:59 it up and then that's really all there is to it, 11:00 you can, you have a meal right there. 11:02 And after, after you're done, I like it, 11:06 I like to put it in the oven for about 350 11:09 for about 30 minutes and all it does is it just 11:11 makes it crisp on the top and that can, 11:15 I mean if you like, if you don't like that, 11:16 if you don't like it crisp, it's done right now. 11:19 You have a meal. Well, that's all there 11:22 is to it, doesn't it look delicious? 11:24 Well, I have one more thing to show you 11:27 and that's how to set our table properly. 11:28 Now, if you follow me over here to the table, 11:32 I have a table cloth and a nice plate 11:36 that match and if you really wanna make 11:37 your family feel special after you've cooked 11:38 for them, you can set the table really nice 11:40 and make it look really pretty. 11:42 And I am gonna show you, you know, 11:43 it's really hard to know sometimes where 11:45 the silverware goes. Now is the fork on the 11:47 left or is the fork on the right, you know, 11:49 you never, you never really know. 11:51 So, and my mom has a little story that 11:53 she told me and that's a little bit silly, 11:55 but you know stay with me and I will, 11:57 I will tell it to you. It does help you 11:58 remember. Okay, the fork and this knife 12:02 and a spoon had a fight with the fork, 12:05 and the fork left which is on the left 12:09 and the knife and the spoon stayed on 12:12 the other side. Now, the napkin I am gonna 12:15 show you how to fold, there's different 12:16 ways to fold it, but I'm gonna 12:18 show you this way, so you fold both corners 12:22 in and when you look at it, 12:24 it makes it kind of look like a kite and 12:27 the napkin went to comfort the fork, 12:30 it's gone underneath the fork. 12:34 Now, I'm gonna show you how it works when 12:35 it's facing you, I'm gonna switch this 12:37 around this here and that's all there is to 12:47 setting a table. Now, if you want 12:51 to make sure that the edge of the knife 12:52 is sharp goes facing in to the plate that way 12:56 you don't cut yourself. And that's all there is to 12:59 setting your table. It's easy. 13:02 Well, until next time keep 13:04 cooking and eat healthy. 13:14 Oh! Excuse me boys and girls. 13:16 I didn't realize you are here, 13:18 I have just been praying. 13:19 This is my most favorite place to come 13:21 and spend time with God and just talk with Him. 13:25 I am the daughter of Philip. 13:26 My father Philip was one of the first 13:28 seven deacons in the Christian Church 13:30 at Jerusalem, but that was 20 years ago. 13:33 Today we live in Caesarea and my father 13:36 is an evangelist. Do you know what that means? 13:39 It means he is a preacher who travels and 13:41 spreads the good news about our Lord 13:43 Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have such 13:47 a wonderful father who spends his life telling 13:49 people about Jesus. Best of all my father, 13:53 and has taught my three sisters and me 13:56 about the Holy Scripture since we were 13:58 very young. None of us are married, 14:02 so we still live at home with father and at 14:05 night we put extra oil in our lamps and we 14:07 just sit and together about God and His 14:10 instructions to us. I like that because 14:13 I know that God has the answers to all 14:15 of the questions of life. And I want to know 14:18 what He says to us? Oh! Let me tell you 14:21 something, something wonderful that 14:23 happened in our family. The Holy Spirit has 14:26 given all of my sisters and me the gift of prophecy. 14:30 Do you know what it means to have the gift 14:32 of prophecy? It's one of the gifts 14:34 of the Holy Spirit and it just means that 14:37 the Spirit impresses God's thoughts upon 14:40 our heart. And sometimes He shows 14:42 us things from the past or sometimes things 14:45 about the present or even about the future. 14:48 You know people often ask me, 14:51 how do you know that the Holy Spirit is 14:53 speaking to you? Well, that's easy to answer, 14:57 it's because I've spent so much time 14:59 studying with my father on what God has 15:02 to say to His people. My father has taught 15:06 me that God mostly speaks to us through 15:08 the scriptures. God says I am the Lord, 15:11 I change not and that's what the Apostles 15:14 say about Jesus too. He never changes. 15:18 I like that about Him. You know I can count 15:22 on God the Father and the Lord Jesus 15:25 and the Holy Spirit, I can trust their advice. 15:29 God won't say one thing one day 15:31 and then change His mind the next. 15:33 God never contradicts Himself, 15:35 and the Holy Spirit would never tell us 15:38 anything that doesn't agree with God's word. 15:41 I think one of the reasons the Holy Spirit 15:43 gave me the gift of prophecy is because I 15:46 spend so much time in prayer too. 15:49 I earnestly seek to know God by remembering 15:54 His word and by talking with Him. 15:56 I think the Holy Spirit would like to give this 15:58 wonderful gift to many people, 16:00 but He can only trust those who love God's 16:03 word and really study it, 16:05 and know what He has said. Otherwise, 16:08 people wouldn't understand if it was the 16:10 Holy Spirit speaking to them or if it was just 16:13 their own thoughts that they were hearing. 16:16 I hope that you love to read the 16:17 scriptures too. It's so wonderful to get 16:20 to know more about who God is and what He 16:24 is like? Do you know that God created our 16:27 world and everything in it, 16:30 including all of the plants and the animals 16:32 and the first human beings? 16:34 Do you know how powerful God is? 16:36 Nothing is impossible for God to do. 16:39 Do you know how much God loves you? 16:42 How can you know these things because God's 16:45 word says so? And you can trust everything 16:48 that this scripture says, 16:49 because it is the word of God. 16:52 God is our heavenly Father and He wants 16:55 us to have a good life. He has a plan for 16:58 our lives, the best plan and since there is 17:01 no one who is smarter than God I think 17:04 we ought to listen to Him and take His advice, 17:07 don't you? One of my favorite scriptures 17:10 in God's word says: That His word is a lamp 17:13 to our feet and a light to our path. 17:16 That means if we follow what God's says, 17:19 we will never be lost. We will find God's path 17:22 for a wonderful life and we will be very happy 17:26 and we will stay out of trouble, 17:28 doesn't that make you want to know what 17:30 God has to say? God loves us so much 17:33 and He only wants the very best for us. 17:36 I love to talk with God in prayer. 17:39 I just talk with God like I would talk to 17:42 my Father Philip. I tell God when I'm 17:45 frustrated or if I'm worried I tell Him 17:48 about my day and I ask Him to guide my 17:51 footsteps in the way that He wants me to go. 17:54 And I ask Him to help others too. 17:57 Oh! It's so exciting to talk with God 18:00 and it makes Him so happy when we do. 18:03 Well, I think I better finish up my studies, 18:06 so that I can hurry up and get home. 18:08 It's my turn to prepare dinner for the family 18:11 tonight and before we go to bed we will 18:14 spend some special time talking together 18:16 about how good God is and reading in His word? 18:20 I can't wait to share with my family tonight. 18:24 I hope you get to share with your family too. 18:27 Bye for now and may God bless you. 18:39 Take my life and let it be 18:44 Consecrated, Lord, to Thee. 18:50 Take my hands and let them move 18:56 At the impulse of Thy love. 19:02 At the impulse of Thy love. 19:07 Take my life and let it be 19:13 Swift and beautiful for Thee. 19:19 Take my voice and let me sing, 19:25 Always, only for my King. 19:31 Always, only for my King. 19:46 I wanna thank the Bond family for that 19:48 beautiful song, I just loved it. 19:51 Well, boys and girls, I'd you like to meet 19:52 two sisters that are with me today. 19:54 I'd like you to meet, this is Dene and 19:59 Danielle. Hi, Danielle, how are you? 20:00 Thank you for coming to Kids Time? 20:02 Tell me what do you do to share Jesus? 20:05 Love God. You love God. How old are you? 20:08 Two. You're two and do you like to, 20:10 do you pray to Jesus? You do, 20:14 when do you pray to Jesus? Love God. 20:17 You love God and do you pray and you tell 20:19 Jesus that you love Him? You do. 20:22 Can you look in that camera right there 20:24 and can you give the boys and girls a big 20:26 smile and show them that you smile 20:28 to show how you love Jesus? Can you do that, 20:31 big smile? Alright, and you know what Jesus 20:34 loves us when we smile, doesn't He? 20:36 Yes. And can I ask Dene, what do you do to 20:39 share Jesus? I bake cookies. 20:42 You bake cookies. Now, what do you bake 20:43 cookies for? I go to people's houses. 20:48 You go to people's houses. Well, 20:51 what you do with, do you sell the cookies? 20:54 I sing songs and then give the cookies to them. 20:58 But do you sell the cookies? 20:59 No. You don't sell them to make any money, 21:01 you just give and you sing songs and what 21:03 are the people do when you give them 21:04 the cookies? Thank you. They say thank you. 21:06 Does that make them happy? 21:08 Yes. And does it make you happy? 21:10 Yes. Oh! And, and Danielle, 21:13 do you like to bake cookies too? 21:16 What do you do when you bake cookies? 21:21 Love God. You love God. That's good, 21:23 well you know what? I love God too. 21:24 Well, right now I would like to share some 21:25 letters with you. I have a letter here that, 21:28 what do you think is in there? 21:30 Money. You think so. I don't know it's 21:33 making a noise in there, let's see, 21:34 I want to see who, do you want to see 21:36 who this is from? Okay, let's see this is 21:38 from Jessica and it says it's from Oregon, 21:42 doesn't tell me where in Oregon, 21:44 so let's open this up and see what's in it? 21:47 And you know what? You are right there 21:48 is the money in here. And let's see what 21:53 the person inside has to say about what this 21:56 money is all about? It says, dear Miss Brenda, 21:59 I love Jesus and I want the money to go 22:02 to Kids Time, so you can buy stuff you need 22:05 for the program. I know it's not much, 22:07 but that's all I have got, I like it when you 22:09 read the Bible. Thanks, love, Jessica. 22:12 PS my birthday is in August and I will be 22:14 8 years old. Well, Jessica thank you for 22:17 that and do you know what? I will make sure 22:19 that all that money goes to Jesus work 22:22 and to goes to Kids Time. 22:24 And we will take it right over and make 22:25 sure that we put that in the right place. 22:28 Thank you so much. And I have another 22:30 letter from Jamaica in the West Indies, 22:33 and let's see what this letter says, 22:35 this letter oh! You know what? 22:36 I have a picture in here, and Dene would you 22:39 like to hold that picture for me? 22:42 And this picture it says, dear Miss Brenda 22:44 this letter says, my name is Eboni and I am 22:47 6 years old and I am writing to you 22:49 from Jamaica. I watch Kids Time everyday 22:52 and I love Jesus very much. 22:54 I love you too Miss Brenda and I share Jesus 22:56 by taking care of my father. 22:58 I love to tell my friends about Jesus. 23:00 Please send an activity book for me, 23:02 your friend, Eboni.
