I was just taking my pulse, 00:32 and do you know what, it's normal. 00:35 But did you know that if I told a lie 00:38 my heart rate would increase? 00:40 And I could tell my pulse that I was under stress. 00:44 God tells us in the Ten Commandments 00:46 never to tell a lie. 00:48 Do you why He says that? 00:50 Well, partly, it is to protect people 00:53 from having you know false stories spread about them. 00:57 But another reason is that it is bad for our health. 01:01 When we have a guilty conscience from lying, 01:04 strange things happen in our bodies and in our minds 01:08 We have what is called stress, and stress makes it very easy 01:12 for diseases to find their way into our bodies. 01:15 Doing what Jesus says not only makes us happy, 01:18 but it makes us healthy too. 01:21 When you listen to today's Bible story 01:23 you learn about a man who did tell a lie. 01:26 Now the Bible doesn't say anything about his health, 01:30 but it does tell us that he suffered a whole lot 01:33 because he told that lie. 01:35 Boys and girls I really want to encourage you 01:38 to always tell the truth. 01:40 I don't ever want to lie, do you? 01:44 Well, now here is Ranger Jim to tell us something 01:46 that is always found near an ocean, 01:48 can you guess what it is? Let's watch and see. 01:59 Hi boys and girls Ranger Jim saying welcome to Nature Time. 02:01 We are glad you can join us today 02:02 we are on the beautiful East Coast of Florida on the beach. 02:05 We are thoroughly enjoining it. 02:06 You can hear the breakers breaking behind me 02:09 and we are here at the beach 02:10 and when you are at the beach what do you have? 02:12 Well, we have sand. We have lots of sand. 02:16 Beautiful sand and its fun, isn't it? 02:19 You like to go to the beach and dig in the sand 02:21 and dig a big hole and bury a friend 02:23 with just their heads sticking out 02:25 and enjoy all those things. 02:27 Look at all the sand that we have. 02:29 Boys and girls sand is very important to our life. 02:32 We use sand for many things. 02:34 We use sand for building bridges. 02:37 We use sand for building highways. 02:41 We use sand for making glass. 02:45 The clear paints of glass in your home 02:47 and in your automobile is basically made from the sand. 02:51 So we have many uses that we use for sand. 02:54 Do you think that Ranger Jim usually thinks about 02:57 when I come to the beach, when I see the sand 03:00 and I see all of these things, 03:02 I always think that many years ago 03:05 Ranger Jim read it in a book 03:07 a great astronomer Sir John Gene was his name, 03:10 and back in the 1930's 03:12 he made a statement that shock the world. 03:14 He said that he believed looking at the heavenly bodies 03:19 that they were more of them 03:20 than there are grains of sand on the earth. 03:24 And I couldn't believe that until modern day astronomers 03:27 tell us now looking through the Hubble Telescope 03:30 that there are most likely more heavenly bodies 03:34 than there are grains of sand on the earth. 03:38 Can that be possible? 03:40 And because Ranger Jim is always curious, 03:42 one Sabbath afternoon my family was all having a nap 03:45 and I went out to the barn 03:46 and I got me one-eighth of a teaspoon full of sand 03:50 and I put it on some blue construction paper 03:53 and with a toothpick I begun to count them. 03:56 Now most people will think that's a little weird. 03:59 But, Ranger Jim wanted to know, 04:01 and after I had one-eighth of a teaspoon 04:04 full of sand then I had a formula 04:08 and I put this amount of sand in this baby food jar 04:12 and I can assure you that there is 04:15 more than 20,000 grains of sand. 04:21 And our heavenly Father made it, how many is here? 04:27 And then one day Ranger Jim was reading in his Bible 04:31 and I was over 04:35 and I just got up and started shouting, 04:37 thank you Lord, thank you Lord. 04:40 Because it says that He knows everyone 04:44 of those heavenly bodies 04:45 and it said He called them all by their name. 04:50 That means individually, if your name is Johnson 04:52 He didn't say he knows the Johnson family, 04:55 he knows, Billy Tommy, Sue, 04:57 and mom John and Helen, his wife. 05:00 He doesn't call you that your children, 05:03 you attend the Freemont Elementary School. 05:07 He says He knows everyone of them by name. 05:10 All of the heavenly body, 05:12 our heavenly father knows everyone of them. 05:14 There is never been a college professor 05:16 that had a vocabulary more then 15,000. 05:19 And like I told you before 05:21 there is more grains of sand in this jar than that. 05:24 And our heavenly father knows all of that. 05:27 Oh, what a God we serve! 05:29 Boys and girls this is Ranger Jim telling you 05:33 as always don't forget to tell Jesus that you love him, 05:37 because he really does love you. 05:48 Hello boys and girls. I'm gonna mix all this up with. 09:54 It doesn't really matter what order, 09:56 you put all these ingredients and you just put all in 09:58 and just dump them all in. And this is Soy Guard, 10:05 soy milk vanilla flavored powder. 10:08 And we use soy guard, I use soy guard it's my favorite 10:11 as really good and taste most like milk, looking good. 10:17 That in. And this is our water, and our baking powder 10:31 and this is almond extract. Now you can use 10:34 vanilla extract if you like, but this is almond. 10:37 Just use almond this time. All right. 10:42 Bend it up with the blender. Woo! We start in low. 11:13 Now I want to get it all mixed up, 11:16 and we get a pan over here. And I already have a 11:21 no-stick pan so I can put a spray on it. 11:26 But, if you don't have, I'm using one of these 11:30 little things and if you don't have one you can just use 11:33 spoon or scoop it out with your hand. 11:34 Let's put these on the pan, that is a little bit sticky 11:40 and you should gonna put keep going and use all the dough. 11:46 And you are gonna bake these at for 350 for about 11:50 8 to 10 minutes until they look a little brown, 11:54 you don't him too down now. And now I have a finish 11:57 product for you. Here it looks like. 12:04 And after you bake these you gonna, 12:06 while they are still warm, you gonna get your finger 12:09 down here and push it. I've already done this, 12:12 but you gonna push your thumb in to make this 12:14 like a hole in the center. As we are gonna put jam in them. 12:19 And this is a whole fruit jam. There is no sugar added. 12:22 And I have apricot and strawberry for you, 12:25 but you can use any kind of jam you like. 12:27 Or you wanna use. Let's gonna take one 12:31 and we just a little bit of jam in the center. Just like that. 12:39 I'm doing strawberry too. A little bit in here. 12:45 You can use grape or peach or anything you like. 12:54 That's what it looks like. You see it started with the birthright. 13:59 I don't know if you know what a birthright is, 14:01 but in my culture the birthright is the family blessing. 14:09 The eldest son who has the birthright ends up getting 14:12 most of the riches and he is in-charge of the family. 14:15 He makes all the important decisions. 14:18 But more than that he is the priest, 14:20 he is one who gets to talk to God. 14:24 And my brother Esau and I've both wanted 14:28 the birthright for longtime. Esau is more wild than I'm. 14:33 He likes to go hunt and live the wild fun life. 14:36 He wants the birthright because of all the money, 14:39 because of all the power. I want the birthright 14:43 because I want to talk to God. 14:48 Well, father likes Esau a little bit more than me. 14:54 I don't know Esau stronger and he is hairier 14:57 and he likes to go hunt. He is more of a, hur, hur, kind of guy 15:00 and dad likes that. I'm more close to mom. 15:03 I hang around the tents and take care of the sheep. 15:07 So, dad is convinced that he wants to give Esau 15:11 the birthright blessing. Not too long ago, 15:16 mom heard dad talking to Esau. 15:19 He said Esau go out and catch me something to eat. 15:23 You know how I like it. Fix it just the way I want it. 15:26 So, Esau left and mom came to me and said Jacob 15:30 your father is gonna give Esau the birthright blessing. 15:33 He is supposed to give it to you, 15:35 but he is gonna go on God's back 15:36 and he is gonna not do what He wants. 15:39 And I said, what you want to me to do mom? 15:42 She said we have to deceive your father. 15:45 My heart sunk. I didn't want to lie to my dad. 15:50 But she said was the only way, and I wanted 15:52 that birthright blessing so bad. So, we went out and we killed 15:58 a small goat and fixed it up. I said but mom, 16:02 he is gonna know I'm not Esau. My voice isn't sound like. 16:04 I don't smell like him. I don't feel like him. 16:07 And she said well go put on some Esau's clothes. 16:10 And then she took the skin of the goat and tied it around 16:13 my arms and on my neck. And then she had fixed the food 16:18 and I ducked into the tent where father was and it was 16:20 really dark and he is really old. 16:23 He can't see as well anymore. And he said Esau is that you? 16:29 I said yes. I lied. I felt terrible inside. 16:34 But I wanted that birthright. So I got down and I give him 16:40 the food and he said, voice is not yours Esau. 16:44 I said feel me father, smell me. He got close and he, aaah, 16:49 this is the smell of Esau, the smell of the fields. 16:52 And he felt my arms. He said, ah these are 16:54 the hairy arms of Esau. And after eating a little bit 16:57 more he put his hands on my head and blessed me. 17:04 I know how the birthright blessing. 17:07 But I didn't feel happy. I had what I want, 17:09 ever since I was little and I felt no joy. 17:15 I got up and left and as soon as I left Esau 17:17 came in and father bless me. And father said who are you? 17:22 I just blessed Esau. He didn't them long to figure out, 17:28 and I had lied that I tricked my father. Esau was furious. 17:34 He wanted to kill me. I had stolen his right, 17:37 his birthright. He still made and mother and father 17:42 said I had to leave. So, now I must leave my home. 17:52 I just have a feeling that I will never see 17:54 my father and mother again. This is all I own. 18:01 I did all of this just because I wanted the birthright. 18:04 I wanted to talk to God and I did it my way, 18:07 and that's not how it supposed to be. 18:11 I learned my lesson though. Next time instead of doing 18:17 the way I want to give what I want, 18:20 I'm to wait on God because His way 18:23 is always better than my way. And did they take it? 20:22 So, you talked to them and they are taking it. 20:23 Well, good for you. You look like somebody 20:27 that just really loves Jesus, do you? 20:29 What's your favorite thing to do? 20:32 Well, I Carport with my daddy and my brother. 20:37 And what is Carport mean? You sell books to people. 20:41 What kind of books? 20:43 Major books and different kind of books. 20:46 What are the books about? 20:47 About different children and about Jesus also. 20:52 So, the books bout Jesus and you help your daddy sell them? 20:55 Yeah. You did. 21:00 That makes you feel good 21:01 when someone buys a nice cook about Jesus? 21:04 Well I tell you what that's a wonderful way to Jesus, 21:06 isn't it? I also love Kids Time 25:04 and especially I do love my brother. 25:06 He already sent for the Kids Time coloring book. 25:09 Please pray for my brother to get better and for my mom too. 25:12 She is sick and we are struggling. 25:14 My dad says to keep her rough over her head 25:16 and food in her mouth. It says dear Miss Brenda 26:00 I'm Elaine and I'm nine years old 26:02 and I'm in grade 3, I'm Pilipino 26:04 please send me a book.
