00:03 It's time to share There's a world out there
00:07 Looking for a friend like Jesus 00:10 It's time to share There's a world out there 00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so 00:20 Kids Time Kids Time Kids Time 00:24 Hello, boys and girls. 00:25 I'm having so much fun reading this little book. 00:28 It's not a story book, but it's still very interesting. 00:32 Let me show you the cover, can you see that? 00:35 Now you know what kind of book it is, don't you? 00:37 It's a book with thousands 00:39 and I mean thousands of names in it. 00:41 And they're all suggestions for people 00:43 who are expecting a baby in their house. 00:46 Now some of these names are sweet and old fashioned 00:50 like Annabel and Charity and Ashanti. 00:56 Others are modern and catchy like Kim and McKayla. 01:01 Some names are old but never out-of-date 01:03 like Michael and John. 01:06 You know, parents spend a lot of time thinking about, 01:08 what they will name their new baby? 01:10 After all, it is a very important decision for their 01:14 child will carry that name for the rest of his or her life. 01:18 Now some parents they decide to name their children 01:21 after family members so way of honoring him or her. 01:24 Kind of like my daughter Rebecca who I named 01:27 after my grandmother Rebecca Helen. 01:30 Others decide they want to find an unusual name, 01:33 a name that hardly anybody else had. 01:36 And when you look at a baby book like this one, 01:39 you'll come across some names that are truly 01:41 unusual like Anchor or Azalea. 01:45 Most people today just have a lot of fun 01:47 thinking of names for their new baby. 01:50 But in Bible times choosing a name 01:52 was more than a fun thing to do. 01:54 For names, all had special meanings. 01:57 In today's bible story, you'll hear about a special baby 02:00 and how that baby received its particular name. 02:05 Now I can't help telling you that the parents 02:07 didn't choose this baby's name. 02:09 This little boy's name was chosen by God Himself. 02:14 Are you wondering what that name was? 02:16 Well, you'll find out very soon but first, 02:19 Ranger Jim is going to show us 02:21 a beautiful animal called an alpaca. 02:32 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:34 welcome to "Nature Time". 02:35 We're glad you can join us today. 02:36 Look at these beautiful creatures 02:38 we have for you to see today. 02:39 And our friend, Penny is with us. 02:41 She's going to tell us about--Penny, what are these? 02:42 Ah, these are alpacas. 02:45 This is Gabe and this is Danny. 02:47 They are both about a year old. 02:49 And Danny's weighing right here about 100 pounds 02:53 and Gabe is weighing at 90 pounds. 02:55 This is like our granddaughter. 02:57 She leads a big part of life in with our alpacas. 03:00 She's a big help in as you can see. 03:03 They can really love and interact 03:06 with the alpacas, very easily. 03:08 Fun, hah. 03:09 They are really fun. 03:11 Well, what do you use them for? 03:13 Do you use them for show or what have you? 03:15 I haven't done any show on with them, lately. 03:18 Basically, what we've done with these so far 03:20 is we've gone into parades. 03:22 We hope to do just P.R. work with them. 03:26 Going to children's home and nursing homes and do 03:29 some things like that with them to just let people know, 03:31 what kind of an animal they really are. 03:33 And so they are very easy that you can transport them easily. 03:36 Yeah, you can transport them in the back of your van. 03:39 And you see they are very well behaved. 03:41 They are not wild, but they do have, 03:42 well-- they are not customized to television cameras 03:45 and things like that, but I'm amazed at how calm 03:47 they are in this situation. 03:49 They seem to adjust to it really well. 03:50 And you can see this, boys and girls, 03:52 what a wonderful pet they make. 03:53 She's able to set here and just pet these animals 03:56 and even when we have them on the camera. 03:58 We're able to walk around and talk-- 04:00 what do these animals eat? 04:02 How do you feed them? What? 04:03 Ah, we give ours grain. 04:05 They each get a fourth a cup in the morning 04:06 and a fourth a cup in the evening. 04:09 And then you have a hay accessible to them at all times. 04:13 And so they do well on that. 04:14 What about cold weather? 04:16 Do they do well in that? 04:17 They really should. They have enough wool 04:19 to keep them really warm, but we do have a building 04:21 that they are pretty much always inside them. 04:23 Have a shelter out in extreme weather. 04:25 What about in the hot summer time, then? 04:27 Ah, it's a little hard to keep them cool sometimes. 04:31 They don't take the heat very well 04:34 so we usually have Danny and Gabe in the barn with fans 04:37 going full force on them all day. 04:39 And so that takes care of that. And that's good like this. 04:41 Just keep them out of the sun. 04:43 Keep them out of the sun, like you would-- 04:45 Keeps them a little cleaner. 04:46 And of course, a good supply of fresh water. 04:48 Ranger Jim stresses that any time we're talking about 04:50 animals I keep saying that 04:52 over and over and over and over again 04:54 that we need always, boys and girls, 04:55 to have a good supply of fresh water. 04:58 What about their hoofs so are they like cattle? 04:59 Do they require any special trimming 05:02 or anything of that nature? 05:03 We usually trim their hoofs. 05:04 Every time we usually have them in, we vaccinate them 05:07 monthly for meningeal worm which can be 05:11 a worm that settles into their brain. 05:14 So we do vaccinate for that monthly. 05:16 And we usually check--their nails are probably done 05:19 three to four times a year. 05:21 And so, that's very, very important, too. 05:23 So they wouldn't receive any more care 05:25 that you would expect to give. 05:27 Other pets and things of that nature, 05:28 but it is specific care usually by a veterinarian, is it or? 05:33 Terry and I, usually pretty much do all of our own work. 05:35 Okay, so you could do that. 05:37 So they do make a very, very interesting pet. 05:40 And as you can see they're also curious animal, are they not? 05:44 Yes, they are. They want to be in on what's going? 05:46 Usually, if you have something that's 05:48 out or wrong around the farm. 05:50 They will usually let you know. 05:52 - Like a watch dog. - They really are. 05:55 So they're aware because I noticed 05:57 when they had them out here, there were dogs 05:59 and there were cats and other things. 06:00 And I would notice that they're taking note of everything. 06:02 Yeah, they really do. 06:03 They really wanna know what's going on 06:05 and they wanna be with you and around you. 06:07 Well, let me ask you a personal question about. 06:09 Are they a little stubborn? 06:11 They can be. Danny more so than Gabe. 06:15 Gabe has to go first and then Danny will follow. 06:18 Otherwise, hey, it's no go. 06:20 He's just gonna lay down and lay flat on the ground. 06:23 Okay, has a mind of his own. 06:24 Well, boys and girls, it's a thrill. 06:26 And Penny, we want to thank you for bringing these 06:28 beautiful creatures for us to see today and enjoy. 06:31 And thank you for bringing your granddaughter 06:32 to be here to pet the animals. 06:35 Boys and girls, we wish you could be here and enjoy this. 06:37 This is a special thrill for me. 06:38 I have never been able to have to pet an alpaca before. 06:43 And they are so soft. 06:44 You can't imagine how soft they are. 06:46 So we will close with that and just say Ranger Jim 06:49 saying as always, "Don't forget to tell Jesus 06:51 you love Him because He really does love you." 07:08 Hey, Dad, guess who I am? 07:10 - You're the apostle Paul. - Nope. 07:13 Can you give me a hint? 07:17 Oh, you're Jabal, the shepherd. 07:20 - Nope. - Can you give me another hint? 07:22 I led sheep down with people. 07:24 - Oh, you're Moses. - That's right. 07:27 All right. I knew I'd get it. 07:30 Boys and girls, please join us as we play 07:32 the game "Guess the Bible character." 07:40 Out in the sea in the middle of the deep blue sea 07:46 A great big whale was swimming by 07:49 and boy was he in for a big surprise 07:52 He opened his mouth and what do you think 07:55 He swallowed brother whoop as quick as a wink 07:58 You gotta fill in the blanks 08:01 You gotta close your eyes and think 08:04 It was just like being in a jail 08:07 Down in the belly of a whale 08:09 Who was it? 08:11 Jonah 08:14 Up in a tree, 08:17 in the top of a sycamore tree 08:20 Sat little whoop by a limb so high 08:23 He heard that Jesus would be passing by 08:26 He was so short that he could not see 08:29 And that's why he climbed up a sycamore tree 08:31 You gotta fill in the blanks 08:34 You gotta close your eyes and think 08:37 Who did Jesus wanna see? 08:40 Up in a sycamore tree Who was it? 08:44 Zacchaeus 08:48 Up on a hill on the top of a big high hill, 08:53 Stood little whoop with a sling in his hand 08:56 Out to kill the great giant in the land 08:59 He put in a stone and the sling went around 09:02 The great big giant came a tumblin' down 09:05 You gotta fill in the blanks 09:07 You gotta close your eyes and think 09:11 What was the little boy's name 09:13 that killed that giant with a sling 09:16 -Who was it? -David 09:21 Down in the den, 09:23 in the bottom of the lion's den 09:27 The king threw whoop to the hungry beast 09:29 The lion's gettin' ready for a great big feast 09:32 They smacked their mouths and they licked their paws 09:35 But God closed their mouths and locked their jaws. 09:38 You gotta fill in the blanks 09:41 You gotta close your eyes and think 09:44 Tell me now if you can 09:47 Who was in the lion's den? Who was it? 09:51 Daniel 09:54 What was the little boy's name 09:56 that killed that giant with a sling? 09:59 David 10:01 Who did Jesus wanna see up in the sycamore tree? 10:07 Zacchaeus 10:08 Everybody give a yell 10:11 Who was in the belly of the whale? 10:14 Jonah 10:30 I will make you fishers of men Fishers of men Fishers of men 10:37 I will make you fishers of men If you follow me 10:44 If you follow me If you follow me 10:52 I will make you fishers of men If you follow me 10:59 Hear Christ calling Come unto me Come unto me Come unto me 11:07 Hear Christ calling Come unto me I will give you rest 11:14 I will give you rest I will give you rest 11:21 Hear Christ calling Come unto me I will give you rest 11:38 Oh, hello, boys and girls. 11:40 Did you know that every where I go, 11:42 here in the hill country of Judea, 11:45 people are coming to see me and my baby John. 11:48 I'm still in this state of shock. 11:51 Oh, little honey, do you need to eat-- 11:53 oh, you're very uncomfortable. 11:55 Rhoda, Rhoda, come please. 11:57 Come and take little, Johnny. 11:59 He'd need a little nap. Oh, he just needs a little nap. 12:04 I love you, honey. 12:06 I'll see you later, baby. 12:09 Now where was I? 12:12 The people are coming to me in a state of shock that I, 12:15 Elizabeth, wife of Zacharias, the aged priest. 12:19 I've had a beautiful baby boy at my old age. 12:23 And when they see with their own eyes that all they have 12:27 heard about me and my baby is true. 12:29 They ask in utter amazement, 12:32 what manner of child shall this be? 12:36 Come, and let me tell you my story. 12:39 As a young girl I was very blessed to be brought up 12:42 in a home that loved and served our great God. 12:46 As a matter of fact, my family were descendants 12:49 of the house of Aaron and I was given the honor 12:51 of being named after Aaron's wife, Elisheba. 12:56 And do you know what my name means? 12:58 It means "my God is abundance." 13:02 And oh, how I love that for it's so true. 13:07 And as a young woman I met and married 13:09 a very godly man named Zacharias, 13:12 who served reverently as a priest in the temple. 13:15 Our lives together was so happy except for one thing. 13:20 We both wanted to have a baby so desperately 13:24 and for years I prayed earnestly for this, 13:27 but it seemed like God had other plans for us. 13:31 Then one day the impossible happened. 13:34 My husband was performing duties of bringing incense 13:37 in the temple, pleading there for the pardon of Israel's sins 13:41 and for the coming of the Messiah. 13:43 Suddenly, the mighty angel Gabriel appeared to him. 13:47 Zacharias was naturally very fearful, but the angel Gabriel 13:51 reassured him with the words, "Fear not, Zacharias. 13:54 For thy prayer is heard and thy wife Elisheba, 13:58 Elizabeth shall have a son 14:01 and thou shall call his name John, 14:05 for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord. 14:08 And shall be filled with the Holy Ghost 14:10 from his mother's womb. 14:12 He shall make the people ready for the coming of the Lord." 14:16 My husband was in shock, even disbelief. 14:18 He asked the angel, how can this? 14:20 Are thee sure of this? 14:22 For I'm an old man and my wife is also very old. 14:27 The angel then told him that because he did not believe 14:30 the words of God that he would not be able to speak 14:33 until all the words spoken had come true. 14:37 So after Zacharias' week of duty at the temple was completed, 14:40 he returned to our home 14:42 up in the hill country of Palestine. 14:45 You can imagine how shocked I was. 14:48 When I-- when he came home and was unable to speak 14:51 a single word to me, I had so many questions 14:55 to ask but he could not talk. 14:57 He could only use sign language 15:01 or write his thoughts on a writing tablet. 15:03 But oh my, my heart leapt for joy when he told me 15:07 that the angel Gabriel had said, "That I would have a baby." 15:12 I must be honest with you when I heard these things 15:15 I was overwhelmed and just had to be alone for a while 15:18 to ponder the miracle and wonder of it all. 15:21 I, Elizabeth was going to have a baby in my old age. 15:25 His name was to be John. 15:27 A name very unheard of in all my family. 15:30 He was going to be the one who would actually, 15:32 announce the coming of the Messiah. 15:35 Then the time for the Messiah was here just like 15:37 God had revealed to us in our studies of the Scriptures. 15:41 And if I'm to be the mother of such a great prophet of God, 15:45 how am I to raisehim up? How should I teach him? 15:48 How shall I protect him from the evil all around me? 15:53 The more I prayed the more God showed me that I was to live 15:56 a quiet and a simple life away from the noise of the city, 16:00 teaching him also from the Scriptures 16:02 and from the many lessons of nature. 16:05 I was to remind him often of his miracle birth 16:08 and how God had given him a special anointing 16:11 to prepare the whole world for the Savior's coming. 16:14 This guidance from God brought me great peace. 16:19 Then in the sixth month of my pregnancy 16:21 the most blessed event happened. 16:23 My young cousin, Mary whom I loved very deeply 16:27 who had studied the prophecies about the coming of the Messiah 16:30 with me came to visit Zacharias and myself. 16:34 When I heard Mary's greeting I could plainly feel the baby 16:38 in my womb leap with joy and at the same time 16:43 I felt the most powerful anointing 16:45 of the Spirit of God descend on me. 16:48 With joy and keen awareness of God's presence 16:51 I began to speak in a loud voice, 16:53 words of praise and thanks giving to God. 16:57 All of a sudden, God revealed to me that my very cousin, 17:02 Mary was pregnant with the Son of God, 17:05 the Messiah was actually here. 17:08 The Messiah was actually in my house. 17:11 Oh, how honored I was and oh, 17:14 how blessed of all women was my little cousin, Mary. 17:18 She knew that the life in her womb was the very Messiah 17:22 and she just had to come and share that great news 17:25 with me because Gabriel actually told her that 17:29 I was pregnant with the prophet 17:31 that would prepare the way for Him. 17:35 Oh, for the next three months Mary stayed at my home. 17:39 It was a great blessing to get up every morning and know that 17:42 the Messiah and His great prophet were present with us. 17:46 Mary and I prayed much together and shared 17:49 so many thoughts and feelings. 17:52 Then came the time for my baby to be born, 17:56 all my family and friends were eagerly waiting. 17:58 Some of them just to see, if it really was going to be 18:01 a boy like we said it was going to be, 18:03 and others were very concerned for my well being 18:06 since I was so old having my first baby, 18:09 but I knew God was with me and all would turn out well. 18:13 Zacharias was equally excited and very glad 18:17 that that day of the return of his speech 18:19 would soon be here. 18:21 And sure enough, God blessed us with a healthy baby boy. 18:27 Then on the eighth day after his birth, 18:29 we took the baby to the temple to be circumcised 18:31 as was the requirement of the law. 18:34 Every one present wanted him to be called Zacharias 18:37 after his father, but I quickly spoke up and said, 18:40 "Not so, he shall be called John" 18:43 so they turned to my husband who could not yet speak 18:45 and handed him a writing table. 18:49 Zacharias simply wrote, "His name is John." 18:55 Right then, an amazing thing happened 18:57 Zacharias' mouth was opened. 19:00 His tongue was loose and he began to talk again. 19:04 And oh, how abundantly he praised God. 19:07 So boys and girls, oh, look, look who's coming, 19:13 it's my baby John. 19:15 Thank you, Rhoda. 19:17 Oh, hi, Johnny. 19:18 I love you. 19:20 I love you. 19:21 So boys and girls, you can see from my story that John, 19:26 that God has a plan and a timing for all that He does. 19:30 And that with Him nothing is impossible, 19:33 we only must believe God's word 19:36 and desire His will for our lives. 19:39 Then all things will work together for our good. 19:44 My Johnny, yeah, did you have a nap? 20:05 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:08 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:12 Little ones like me, Sat upon His knee, 20:16 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:20 Jesus loves the little ones like you, you, you. 20:24 Jesus loves the little ones like you, you, you. 20:28 Little ones like you, Jesus loves them too 20:31 Jesus loves the little ones like you, you, you. 20:35 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:39 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:43 Little ones like me, Sat upon His knee, 20:47 Jesus loves the little ones like me, me, me. 20:59 Thank you for that beautiful song that was Holly Greer's 21:02 group from Collegedale, Tennessee and thank you so much. 21:06 Boys and girls, I would like 21:08 to have you meet a special friend today. 21:09 Her name is Camille. 21:11 Hi, Camille. 21:12 She's waving to you, boys and girls. 21:14 Now Camille, you recently shared Jesus 21:16 with this friend at your church. 21:18 Can you tell us about that? 21:20 You had a friend that went to church with you. 21:23 And we took her to our house. 21:26 Now why did you take her to your house? 21:30 Because we're going to invite her to eat lunch with us. 21:34 After church. 21:35 Now when she comes to church 21:36 does she have all pretty dresses 21:38 and come all fancy to church. No. 21:40 No. What does she usually dress like? 21:44 She used to have just pants on and-- 21:47 Her play clothes. Yeah. 21:49 So when you brought her to your home after church 21:53 and you were gonna get ready to eat your lunch. 21:55 You told me you took her up to your bedroom 21:57 and why did you do that? 21:59 Why did you do that? 22:01 I took her into my clothes and said, 22:03 "You can pick any dress, you want." 22:05 Any dress she wanted? 22:07 Now let me ask you, did she choose 22:09 the ugliest dress there? No. No. 22:11 What did she choose? 22:13 The prettiest one. 22:14 She saw the prettiest one. 22:16 Was it your favorite one? Mm-hmm. 22:18 It was your favorite one. 22:19 And did she pick just one dress? No. 22:22 How many did she pick? 22:24 Three. Three dresses. 22:25 And did you tell her oh, no, 22:27 you can't have those, those are my favorite. 22:28 You just get to have the ugly one, is that what you told her? 22:31 No. No. What did you tell her? 22:34 I told her, "You can have any dress, you wanted." 22:36 And did you give her all three? 22:38 You did. Why? Did that make you really sad? 22:42 It made me really happy. 22:43 It made me really happy. 22:45 How could that make you really happy? 22:47 You just lost your three best dresses. 22:50 Kind of sharing Jesus. 22:52 Sharing Jesus always makes us happy, 22:55 doesn't it, boys and girls? 22:57 You know, Camille when she had Jesus in her heart. 23:00 She opened up her closet and said you can have anything. 23:03 And that's what Jesus does with us, doesn't He? 23:05 He just wants us to share-- 23:07 He fills our heart with that kind of love. 23:09 And He wants us to just share that with others. 23:11 So you really did share Jesus. 23:13 Well, I wanna share some letters with you, boys and girls. 23:16 This one says, "Dear Miss Brenda," 23:18 and it's from Johannesburg, South Africa 23:21 said, "My name is Lisa and I'm four years old. 23:25 I cannot write so my sister is writing this letter for me. 23:28 I've been watching Kids Time for the past three years now 23:30 and I'm glad to tell you that I enjoy the music so very much 23:34 and the Cooking Time.
