00:03 It's time to share there's a world
00:06 out there looking for a friend like Jesus,
00:10 it's time to share there's a world
00:12 out there. Let's tell them that He loves
00:15 us so. Let's tell them that He loves
00:18 us so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:24 Hi boys and girls, just look at this beautiful
00:27 angel, you know of course its not a real
00:30 angel is it, I'm sure that if a real angel
00:33 came down from heaven right now and
00:36 appeared before us in all the shining glory,
00:40 eyes would be so dazzled, and we'd be
00:42 absolutely speechless, yet each of us
00:46 has our own angel with us at all times.
00:49 Did you know that boys and girls,
00:50 Jesus has provided each one of us
00:53 with our own personal angel,
00:56 and we call that a guardian angel.
00:58 We call it a guardian angel because
01:00 it guards against dangerous things
01:02 happening to us. Isn't it wonderful to know
01:06 that Jesus loves us so much that he gives
01:09 each one of us our very own angel.
01:13 Do you know the Bible tells us many
01:15 wonderful things the angels have done.
01:17 Angels are extremely powerful, and they're
01:20 able and ready to do whatever God
01:22 asks them to do. They have delivered
01:24 messages, they've destroyed armies,
01:26 shut the mouth of lions. Do you remember
01:28 Daniel in the lions den? They've also
01:30 punished those who mocked God
01:32 and they've saved people from fire
01:34 and floods. But many people have some
01:37 strange ideas about angels don't they,
01:40 some think that when we die we turn
01:42 into angels, but we know that that's
01:44 not really true. Do you know the Bible tells
01:47 us that God created angels and that
01:49 people who die simply sleep until Jesus
01:52 comes again to wake them up and take
01:55 them to heaven. Others think that angels
01:57 somehow have to work to get to a higher
01:59 position in heaven that they have actually
02:02 have to earn their wings, again, we know
02:05 that's not what the Bible says, that's just
02:08 not true. You know you can watch
02:10 television programs where angels seem
02:12 to experience confusion and they're not
02:15 really knowing what they're doing, sort of,
02:16 kind of like human beings, but God's
02:20 angles have intelligent minds far above
02:23 those of human beings, and they always
02:26 know exactly what it is that God's instructed
02:28 them to do. God doesn't force his angels
02:32 to play kissing games does he? You know
02:35 today's Bible story tells of a wonderful
02:38 experience of something an angel did
02:40 for a man who was in prison. I know
02:42 you're really going to enjoy it. But first
02:45 Ranger Jim is going to teach us about
02:47 some Pyrenees dogs that belong to some
02:49 very good friends of mine, Dave and Cindy.
02:59 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying
03:01 welcome to Nature Time. Look what we
03:03 have today, aren't these beautiful,
03:05 our friend Dave is with us and Dave owns
03:07 these dogs. Dave, what kind of dogs are
03:08 these? These are Great Pyrenees.
03:10 Beautiful, beautiful dog; well tell us
03:12 something about them, how old they are?
03:14 Well these are believe it or not still
03:16 puppies, they're only five months old.
03:18 We got these animals when they were six
03:21 weeks old. They're supposed to get up
03:23 to about 135 pounds. And so now you
03:26 say they're just, they're juveniles now,
03:28 they weigh maybe boys and girls,
03:29 may weigh 50, 60 pounds, and when
03:32 these dogs are fully mature will be upwards
03:34 of a 135 pounds, can you imagine that.
03:37 They will be huge big dogs. Are they
03:40 vicious dogs? Oh! No, they're wonderful
03:42 with kids and they're livestock guard dogs
03:45 actually. They watch Alpaca herd,
03:49 they're just like part of the herd.
03:51 Just part of, they live with the Alpacas
03:52 and boys and girls, in fact these dogs
03:55 were out with the Alpacas an hour ago,
03:57 we went out into herd of Alpacas got the dogs
03:59 and brought them in. We didn't bother to
04:01 wash their feet and clean them all up
04:03 and make them look like show dogs because
04:05 they're not. They're guard dogs,
04:06 they're very affectionate with the
04:08 Alpacas, they guard them carefully,
04:10 they know every single animal in the pack.
04:13 And in the morning when the herd comes
04:15 out and ready to go out start grazing,
04:16 the dog comes along and sniffs noses
04:18 with all of the different Alpacas to sort of
04:22 ascertain that they're all okay and the
04:24 guard dogs will go around the fence
04:26 you see we're out in a pasture now,
04:27 maybe you can see a fence behind us,
04:29 these dogs will patrol that fence.
04:31 They will walk down to one corner and all
04:33 around, make sure there's nothing around,
04:35 when all is well in their territory, they go
04:37 back and lay down and they're very
04:38 comfortable. Now a dog this size and you see
04:41 he wants to lay down, I'm not gonna try to
04:43 hold him up because he's a big dog.
04:45 How much, do the dog eats quite a bit,
04:46 like this they, do they? Well as they're
04:48 growing still they gain about a pound a day
04:51 on average and they're eating quite a bit
04:53 now but it tapers off as they get older.
04:55 Once they have gained their full body size
04:57 and all and gained their weight,
04:58 then it tapers off something like that.
05:01 Do they require any special care from a
05:02 veterinarian or anything like that? No,
05:04 they just have their annual shots
05:06 as any other dog, and then they should be
05:09 brushed to keep them, their hair you know
05:12 snarls out and so daily. And things like
05:15 that, okay, that you would normally
05:16 think of. Boys and girls, this is one of the
05:18 oldest breeds of dogs in the world,
05:20 we can trace these dogs back to 1200 years
05:23 before the birth of Christ. And so that's
05:25 how long these dogs have been in existence.
05:27 They were originally mountain type dogs
05:30 that guarded the sheep, and took care of
05:31 sheep and things of that nature; they were
05:33 used for that in many of the countries.
05:36 In Europe, these dogs were used also as
05:38 beast of burden, I don't like to use that
05:39 name. They were used by owners that
05:42 loved them, they were trained to work
05:44 with small wagons or carts, they could
05:46 pull small loads behind them and they are
05:49 known as the gentle giants. In fact
05:51 we were getting all set up and ready to
05:53 start doing this taping, these dogs came
05:55 up and begin to lick the cameras
05:56 and everyone here that's around.
05:58 They're so friendly, they're one of the most
05:59 friendly dogs that you can imagine
06:01 and as our friend Dave said that they are
06:03 very, very good with children. Something
06:05 else about, is this the regular color that you
06:07 would see in these Dave or are they
06:09 different colors? Yeah, normally they could be
06:10 solid white, some of the show animals,
06:13 but they have a little of tan and a lot of
06:15 gray around their face. I see, little tan
06:17 and gray like you see on the ears here
06:19 and what have you, but that is the natural
06:21 marking. Now you say, some people do
06:23 show these dogs, oh! Yes, they're registered
06:25 and lot of people do show them. And you
06:27 would see them at dog shows and things
06:29 of that nature, but in your case you have
06:31 them here to guard the Alpaca. Correct, that's
06:33 what we have them for. And I can tell
06:35 you boys and girls, if a stray dog, or a fox
06:38 or a coyote or anything else would take
06:39 the chance and the risk of coming in this
06:41 pasture, it would be their last mistake
06:43 wouldn't it. Yeah that'd be their last
06:45 mistake, because these dogs even though
06:46 they're lovable and friendly and just enjoy
06:51 relating to human beings and being petted
06:53 and what have you, if you come into this
06:55 pasture and you're another animal you're
06:58 in trouble because they are guard dogs,
07:00 and these dogs this size especially
07:02 when these two dogs are grown, these two
07:05 dogs will have a combined weight
07:07 of almost 300 pounds, so if you can imagine
07:11 and you can't see their teeth but they
07:12 have very large teeth, and so these
07:15 animals are capable of taking on any
07:17 coyote or any stray dog that would come.
07:19 You see, they would have an advantage
07:21 over coyote of perhaps 85 pounds,
07:24 so it wouldn't be a fair fight at all.
07:25 If the coyote couldn't escape by his
07:27 speed he would pay with his life,
07:29 and so that's why they have these big
07:31 gentle giants here and when they have
07:33 company comes and he wants to leave now.
07:35 We're, we're just practically finished
07:37 with the shoot, but he wants to go so
07:39 we will let him go, that's okay.
07:41 When company comes they're gentle
07:43 giants, when someone comes that might
07:45 attack the Alpacas they're guard dogs.
07:48 Hasn't this been interesting boys
07:49 and girls but Ranger Jim telling
07:52 you once again don't forget to tell Jesus
07:54 that you love him because
07:55 he really does love you.
08:08 Happy birthday to you, happy birthday
08:13 to you, happy birthday dear Brendan,
08:17 Debbie, Keira, and Hannah,
08:22 happy birthday to you.
08:31 Hello boys and girls, this is a very nice
08:34 time for us as we celebrate four
08:38 birthdays. Brendan Robert Kyle
08:40 has s made it to three, Debbie is all
08:44 the way to 13, Keira is now five
08:48 years old and Hannah is six.
08:53 Boys and girls, its so fun to celebrate
08:56 birthdays, its so fun to tell Jesus
08:57 thank you on our birthday. But you know
09:00 what really, really neat is we can tell
09:03 Jesus thank you everyday of the year.
09:24 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good
09:27 His love endures forever.
09:31 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good
09:34 His love endures forever
09:38 He never changes, He stays the same
09:46 He is my refuge, He is my strength
09:54 He is my stronghold, He keeps me safe
10:00 So I will lift up His name,
10:07 And I will give my Lord praise
10:14 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
10:17 His love endures forever.
10:20 Psalms 107 verse 1.
10:26 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good
10:30 His love endures forever.
10:33 Give thanks to the Lord
10:35 For he is good, His love endures forever
10:41 He never changes, He stays the same
10:48 He is my refuge, He is my strength
10:54 He is my stronghold, He keeps me safe
11:02 So I will lift up His name,
11:09 And I will give my Lord praise
11:16 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
11:19 His love endures forever.
11:23 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
11:26 His love endures forever.
11:42 I love pumpkin pie; I love it so much
11:45 that I asked my mom if she teach me
11:46 how to make it. I was kind of nervous at first
11:49 though because it looked like kind of
11:51 hard but it's really easy. It's so easy
11:54 that I think you could do it too,
11:56 well here's the recipe.
11:59 1pkg. Mori-Nu Tofu Firm, 1 c. water
12:05 15oz. can pumpkin
12:08 3/4 c. Sucanat or 2/3 c. honey, ½ tsp. salt
12:16 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 tsp. ginger
12:22 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. Cloves
12:27 I'm gonna start with the tofu and this is
12:29 what the tofu looks like, you see
12:31 it's kind of smooth but its the firm kind
12:35 and this is what it comes in, this is
12:39 Mori-Nu tofu and it's a smoother type
12:41 of tofu. And if you get the watered
12:43 package type of tofu, it's gonna have a
12:46 different texture and personally I think
12:49 it would ruin the recipe, so I don't
12:50 recommend it. Now we're gonna start with the,
12:53 put the tofu in and I'm gonna cut it up
12:55 first because it'll just be easier,
12:58 it will just be easier to get into the thing
13:01 if it's cut up and done, it will easier to put
13:05 in the blender, I cut it up. I put it in the
13:10 blender, oops, we'll put it there, okay.
13:24 Now We're gonna put our water
13:25 and we're gonna mix up first our water
13:26 and our tofu till you get battered about a,
13:30 till you get that mixed up real good,
13:36 it will only take a few seconds. Looks good
13:42 right now, it only takes, it only takes
13:43 like a few seconds. From there it really
13:47 doesn't matter what order you put
13:49 your stuff in, so you can just go ahead
13:51 and I'm gonna put the pumpkin in first,
13:59 yeah, okay, and if you can't remember
14:08 all the spices or what they, they look like,
14:11 you just smell them, and they smell really
14:13 good. I'm gonna put the cinnamon in,
14:20 and the Sucanat, or you can use honey
14:22 but I chose to use sucanat
14:30 and then add ginger and put the salt in,
14:43 and the cloves, and the nutmeg.
14:57 Now we're gonna blend all this up
14:58 until it gets good and done.
15:09 You have to maybe stir it up a little bit
15:11 because sometimes it doesn't like the,
15:13 get all mixed up good, get down there,
15:16 push it down, so it'll mix up,
15:26 we'll try again. Oops, maybe one
15:41 more time, mix up real good,
15:49 push it down, okay. Looks almost done,
16:21 not mixing up too good, it looks pretty
16:27 good though, yeah, okay and we go
16:38 ahead and put it in our pie dish,
16:40 and this is just raw dough pie, you can
16:44 use any kind of pie crust you want,
16:46 can buy it in a store but you don't want
16:48 the pre-baked kind, you want just the kind
16:51 that will bake, go ahead, that will bake
16:52 in the oven. So this is just my mom's
16:54 recipe but you can use any kind,
16:57 your recipe or you can buy some.
17:01 and I'm gonna pour this in, okay,
17:13 and now what I'm gonna do is
17:14 I'm gonna take the foil here
17:17 just and I'm gonna put it around the edges,
17:20 and you don't wanna touch the filling
17:21 with it but it's just so the pie crust on
17:24 the edges won't burn. Just press it
17:30 around the edges gently, make sure
17:33 not to touch, then go all the way around
17:39 like this. Once you get all this done
17:46 you're gonna bake the pie at 350
17:50 for about an hour until or also you can
17:53 stick a toothpick in it and if the toothpick
17:55 comes out clean then you know that the
17:57 pie is done. Well I've already baked
18:05 the sample to show you, this what it looks
18:10 like and you notice that there is some
18:13 cracks in it and don't worry that's supposed
18:15 to happen. It kind of looks funny but
18:17 that's just how pumpkin pie bakes.
18:21 Well its delicious, its moist and you're gonna
18:24 love it. So until next time keep
18:26 cooking and eat healthy.
18:36 Rhoda, Rhoda, Oh Diana, its good
18:40 to see you again, it's good to see you
18:41 too, but have you heard the news,
18:44 King Herod is furious because one of his
18:46 prisoners has escaped, oh he's so furious.
18:50 It must be Peter. Peter? You know this
18:53 prisoner; just what do you know about this?
18:57 Oh! I just talked to him, he told us
18:58 all about his escape. You talked to him;
19:02 is he here; are we safe? Yes, here come
19:06 sit with me, I'll tell you all about it, yes.
19:10 Now you've heard of Jesus right, about how
19:12 he was crucified and raised from the dead.
19:14 Of course, everyone has heard of Jesus.
19:16 Although I'm not sure how believable it is,
19:19 raising from the dead and all. Oh! I believe,
19:22 Peter preaches about him all the time,
19:24 you should hear him. This messiah,
19:26 he is the messiah, this Jesus, he's the one
19:29 we waited for, for so long. There is power
19:32 when Peter preaches in his name,
19:34 I wish you could hear him, the sick are made
19:36 well, the blind see, the lame can walk
19:39 and sad hearts are given hope. Obviously
19:43 you're convinced, but tell me about how
19:47 this Peter escaped? He went to prison
19:50 about a week ago, King Herod had heard
19:52 how an angel had set him free a few
19:54 years ago, and so he was determined not
19:56 to let that happen again, he had 16
19:59 guards with him, 16, his hands, his feet
20:02 were chained down, the cell door was
20:04 locked and guarded, and the big iron gates
20:07 were locked and guarded too. It seems
20:08 as if we would never see him again.
20:11 It's a long night, we stayed up,
20:13 he was supposed to be killed this morning.
20:16 Mom was crying and dad was looking really
20:18 worried, and never stopped praying,
20:20 and Lemuel, you remember the old man
20:22 Lemuel, he used to sit by the well everyday
20:24 and beg. Oh! Yes, I remember him.
20:27 Although I don't think I've seem him lately,
20:29 did he die? Oh! No he went to hear Peter
20:32 preach and in the name of Jesus he
20:34 received his sight back, well anyways
20:37 he was there praying with us too, he kept
20:39 encouraging us to keep on praying. He just
20:41 knew that God would work a miracle
20:43 and set Peter free and little do we know
20:46 it was happening while we were praying.
20:48 An angel came to Peter in the prison
20:49 and told him to get his sandals on and his
20:51 coat and to get up and follow him.
20:54 Well, how could they do that, I thought
20:56 you said he was chained down? It was like
20:58 an invisible key, just unlocked those chains
21:00 and they just fell off, well were the guards
21:03 watching? They were sound asleep,
21:06 never heard a thing. The angel opened
21:08 the cell door and they walk past one guard
21:10 and then another, and then another,
21:12 until they got to the big iron gate
21:14 and it just opened on its own too, and they
21:17 were able to walk out into the street to
21:18 freedom. Then the angel just disappeared
21:22 and Peter said, now I know that the Lord
21:24 has sent his angel to deliver me
21:26 from the hand of Herod. Oh! Diana,
21:29 you have to believe in this Jesus, he has
21:31 worked wonderful miracles, and he's
21:32 answered our prayer. It does seem to be
21:36 that he is the Messiah but how is that
21:39 you know all this? Well like I said we
21:42 were all praying in our little house and we
21:44 were all locked up very tightly, and one
21:46 little candle for light. We were afraid
21:48 that Herod would find us, when I thought
21:50 I heard a tapping at the door, I tipped
21:53 it over quietly, I was really afraid until
21:56 suddenly I heard someone saying hello,
21:58 is anyone home? It was Peter's voice,
22:01 I knew it, I almost tripped over the rug,
22:04 running back to everyone Peter is here
22:06 I said, I heard him he is at the door.
22:09 It's been a long night you better go
22:10 to bed said mom. No, I heard him it's
22:13 Peter come and see. At first no one moved,
22:16 then Lemuel, good old Lemuel, he took my
22:18 hand and walked with me to the door
22:20 then everyone came. He opened the door
22:22 and threw it open and there was Peter,
22:25 he was tired and looked dirty but
22:27 he was happy and he told us all about
22:29 his escape. Mom started crying again,
22:31 but this time it was a happy crying,
22:33 then we all knelt down and we thanked
22:36 God for delivering Peter and answering
22:38 our prayers. Oh Diana, Jesus can do
22:41 anything, he can cut through chains,
22:43 open locked gates, he can make blind
22:45 men see, he can set us free too Diana.
22:49 We just have to ask him and he will let,
22:51 he will set us free from anything
22:52 that holds us down, I just know it,
22:54 it's true. Yes, it does seem to be true.
23:00 I noticed when I came in that you
23:02 were praying, could you show me how
23:04 to pray. Of course, lets kneel right here.
23:18 All of me, Not a part but all of me
23:25 All the heart and soul of me
23:30 Jesus, I surrender
23:37 All of me, through the ages yet to be
23:43 I surrender Lord to Thee
23:48 I surrender all of me
23:51 All of me I surrender all, All of me.
24:13 Thank you Lovell sisters for that
24:15 beautiful song. Well, I love sharing letters
24:18 with you boys and girls, and I'm so
24:20 excited today because I've another big
24:22 pack and I'm always curious about what is
24:24 in these big packages, well let's take a
24:26 look, don't you want to see. Let's see,
24:31 somebody has draw me a picture, let's
24:32 take a look, this says, dear Kids Time,
24:35 me and my brother like your show,
24:37 and we want a Kid's Time activity book,
24:39 love Nicholas and Matthew. Well thank you
24:43 so much Nicholas and Matthew, I loved
24:44 your rainbow and your owl, and your
24:46 rabbit and you're just such good artists,
24:50 and yes I'll be happy to send you a book.
24:52 I've got another letter from Vanessa from
24:54 Grand Cayman Island and let's see
24:56 what Vanessa has to say. Vanessa says,
