It's time to share, there's a 00:00:03.78\00:00:05.65 world out there, looking for a friend 00:00:05.66\00:00:08.61 like Jesus, it's time to share, 00:00:08.62\00:00:12.08 there is a world out there. 00:00:12.09\00:00:13.75 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:13.76\00:00:16.90 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:00:16.91\00:00:20.25 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:00:20.77\00:00:24.05 Hi boys and girls, do you know 00:00:25.15\00:00:26.71 what I have here? Well, let's take a 00:00:26.72\00:00:29.39 closer look, are you guessing beans. 00:00:29.40\00:00:33.18 Well sort of, they're in the same family 00:00:33.65\00:00:37.31 as beans, the family we call legumes, 00:00:37.32\00:00:39.83 but these are lentils. Did you know 00:00:39.84\00:00:43.43 the legume family includes many kinds 00:00:43.44\00:00:45.93 of beans? Also peas and even peanuts, 00:00:45.94\00:00:49.39 lentils are extremely good for us, 00:00:50.00\00:00:51.80 they're high in protein, and they taste 00:00:51.81\00:00:54.13 good too when we just season them 00:00:54.14\00:00:55.70 just right. But have you ever notice 00:00:55.71\00:00:58.19 how some times we associate food 00:00:58.20\00:01:00.54 with an experience we've had. 00:01:00.55\00:01:02.25 I know someone who once ate so many 00:01:02.91\00:01:05.13 cashew nuts that she got sick of them. 00:01:05.14\00:01:07.29 And now she can't even stand to think of 00:01:07.30\00:01:09.24 eating them ever again. Food can have 00:01:09.25\00:01:11.97 good associations too though. Our Bible 00:01:11.98\00:01:15.41 character, today is looking back on 00:01:15.42\00:01:17.63 important events in his life and he's telling 00:01:17.64\00:01:19.93 his granddaughter about them. One of these 00:01:19.94\00:01:22.42 events included a bowl of lentils. 00:01:22.43\00:01:25.02 I have a feeling that he never again enjoyed 00:01:25.81\00:01:28.07 a bowl of lentils after that experience. 00:01:28.08\00:01:30.23 And I'm sure that reminded him of a time 00:01:30.88\00:01:32.85 when he did something wrong. You know, 00:01:32.86\00:01:35.58 Jesus always forgives us when we do 00:01:35.59\00:01:37.38 something wrong, and that and if we 00:01:37.39\00:01:39.74 are truly sorry. But sometimes the memories 00:01:39.75\00:01:42.82 of that wrong doing can make us unhappy 00:01:42.83\00:01:45.52 and unable to enjoy future experiences 00:01:45.53\00:01:47.79 as much as we should. The Bible says, 00:01:47.80\00:01:50.81 the way of the transgressor's hard, 00:01:50.82\00:01:52.86 you know that simply means that doing 00:01:53.55\00:01:55.55 wrong things brings sadness and trouble. 00:01:55.56\00:01:57.95 The character in our Bible story today learn 00:01:58.86\00:02:00.68 that lesson the hard way. We'll soon learn 00:02:00.69\00:02:03.91 all about this man in the bowl of lentils. 00:02:03.92\00:02:06.23 But first, Ranger Jim is going 00:02:06.24\00:02:08.30 to show us some rabbits. 00:02:08.31\00:02:10.25 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying, 00:02:17.68\00:02:19.23 welcome to Nature Time. We're glad 00:02:19.24\00:02:20.61 you can join us today, look what we have, 00:02:20.62\00:02:22.58 some beautiful bunny rabbits and our 00:02:22.59\00:02:24.30 friend Bonnie with us. Tell us about 00:02:24.31\00:02:26.37 these rabbits. Well, we have some pet rabbits 00:02:26.38\00:02:28.87 on our farm. These are Rex Rabbits. 00:02:28.88\00:02:31.96 They are special breed then? That's right, 00:02:32.32\00:02:34.30 that's the type of rabbit they are, 00:02:34.31\00:02:36.02 it's called a mini Rex actually. 00:02:36.03\00:02:38.86 And so these rabbits won't become as 00:02:39.12\00:02:40.53 large as they are normally will have 00:02:40.54\00:02:42.09 size. That's right, Mini Rex just stay 00:02:42.10\00:02:44.09 small, in fact these rabbits are full grown. 00:02:44.10\00:02:46.54 Wonderful and they make a nice pet 00:02:47.24\00:02:48.69 that you can have them. And boys and girls, 00:02:48.70\00:02:50.49 they have a special Rex is a name of the 00:02:50.50\00:02:52.88 gene that they have, that causes 00:02:52.89\00:02:54.24 their whiskers to be slightly curly, 00:02:54.25\00:02:55.85 and the guard hair that he would normally 00:02:55.86\00:02:57.69 have is very short. And so their coat feels 00:02:57.70\00:03:00.36 almost like cashmere, it's silky and smooth 00:03:00.37\00:03:03.15 and so soft as you can see they are very 00:03:03.16\00:03:05.53 gentle, you can hold them in your hands. 00:03:05.54\00:03:07.60 Their toe nails are quite elongated 00:03:07.61\00:03:10.02 and they need to be trimmed. But when I 00:03:10.03\00:03:11.30 picked up this one up, I noticed that 00:03:11.31\00:03:12.60 were the first things I noticed and Bonnie 00:03:12.61\00:03:14.50 you say, they have to be trimmed right then. 00:03:14.51\00:03:15.56 You do, in rabbits you have to trim 00:03:15.57\00:03:18.29 the toe nails, like you and I might 00:03:18.30\00:03:19.86 take a pair of nail clippers and trim my 00:03:19.87\00:03:21.99 finger nails. You have to trim the nails 00:03:22.00\00:03:23.97 of a rabbit, otherwise they're gonna scratch 00:03:23.98\00:03:26.47 you. That's right, as we just pick them up 00:03:26.48\00:03:28.32 them like that. Well, tell me about these 00:03:28.33\00:03:31.13 creatures, they have a very, very 00:03:31.14\00:03:32.79 thick coat, do they do well in warm weather 00:03:32.80\00:03:34.62 or do you have to cool them or? 00:03:34.63\00:03:35.86 On a very hot day, what we do is we take 00:03:36.40\00:03:39.65 a plastic bottle, and we'll put a, 00:03:39.66\00:03:42.29 plastic bottle, put some water in it 00:03:43.06\00:03:44.32 and put it in the freezer. And then the 00:03:44.33\00:03:46.23 bunny rabbits will just actually lay, 00:03:46.24\00:03:48.38 just like this. Alright. On that plastic bottle, 00:03:48.39\00:03:50.71 and that's like their air-conditioner. 00:03:50.72\00:03:52.88 That cools them down. Alright, that cool 00:03:52.89\00:03:54.23 you all faster then Popsicle, 00:03:54.24\00:03:55.50 wouldn't it? Yes, it does. And so they 00:03:55.51\00:03:56.71 enjoy that, and then in the winter time, 00:03:56.72\00:03:58.22 of course you don't leave them outdoors. 00:03:58.23\00:03:59.54 No, in the summer time, we have 00:03:59.55\00:04:01.20 them in outdoor cages, but in the 00:04:01.21\00:04:02.54 winter time, we put them inside a building 00:04:02.55\00:04:04.68 that could be completely closed up. 00:04:04.69\00:04:06.47 And there's a box, they can get in with some 00:04:06.48\00:04:08.37 straw to keep them warm. Very good. 00:04:08.38\00:04:10.86 Now, do these rabbits eat a great meal 00:04:10.87\00:04:12.68 or they're quite or quite eat it. No, 00:04:12.69\00:04:14.75 these rabbits don't eat very much at all. 00:04:14.76\00:04:16.57 In fact, if you would take a small soup can, 00:04:16.58\00:04:18.83 you would only take a half a soup can 00:04:18.84\00:04:21.55 of pallets everyday. And then very 00:04:21.56\00:04:24.11 important that rabbits have a lot of water. 00:04:24.12\00:04:25.96 Wonderful, now does that sound familiar 00:04:26.56\00:04:28.31 to you because Ranger Jim tells 00:04:28.32\00:04:29.92 you constantly boys and girls, 00:04:29.93\00:04:31.29 if you have a pet, it is so important 00:04:31.30\00:04:34.09 That you always remember to have 00:04:34.10\00:04:35.79 fresh water for them, because that creature 00:04:35.80\00:04:38.20 needs the water to survive as you do. 00:04:38.21\00:04:40.07 And we're here in this farm and you 00:04:40.08\00:04:42.16 may here sounds going by, there are 00:04:42.17\00:04:44.20 farm tractors going by. And all of the 00:04:44.21\00:04:46.30 regular traffic that's going through here, 00:04:46.31\00:04:48.31 but tell me this now, if these creatures 00:04:48.32\00:04:51.08 have enough water, a good protection, 00:04:51.09\00:04:53.61 they make a lovely pet. Rabbits are so fun, 00:04:53.62\00:04:56.71 as you can see the little bunny rabbit 00:04:56.72\00:04:58.53 just sitting here on my lap. And it's so 00:04:58.54\00:05:00.43 soft and you can pet the rabbit and 00:05:00.44\00:05:02.99 they're just cuddly and easy to care for. 00:05:03.00\00:05:05.97 Wonderful, boys and girls, 00:05:06.62\00:05:07.79 you've noticed that rabbits always have 00:05:07.80\00:05:09.68 large ears, and if you look at them very 00:05:09.69\00:05:11.87 carefully, you'll see veins. Many veins 00:05:11.88\00:05:14.29 in their ears and especially in the jack 00:05:14.30\00:05:16.92 rabbits and rabbits out in the South West 00:05:16.93\00:05:18.88 or in the desert areas, some of the desert 00:05:18.89\00:05:20.27 rabbits have huge ears. And those ears 00:05:20.28\00:05:23.66 are for cooling, their blood passes through 00:05:23.67\00:05:25.83 there and when they waves them in the wind 00:05:25.84\00:05:27.63 or they when they're running, that's the way 00:05:27.64\00:05:29.26 they cool. And as I told you before with a 00:05:29.27\00:05:31.55 dog, when a dog opens its mouth its hot. 00:05:31.56\00:05:34.13 When the dog is panting and your dog may 00:05:34.14\00:05:36.16 come up and want to kiss you, and he's 00:05:36.17\00:05:37.50 panting and slobbering. Well, that's his 00:05:37.51\00:05:39.28 cooling mechanism, and he does that by 00:05:39.29\00:05:42.05 breathing air, fresh air panting, pulling the 00:05:42.06\00:05:45.62 air back and forth across his tongue 00:05:45.63\00:05:47.50 that's wet. And that dissipates the heat, 00:05:47.51\00:05:49.53 the same way in the rabbit that controls 00:05:49.54\00:05:51.39 his heat, and even in some of the elephants 00:05:51.40\00:05:53.17 that we have, they waves their huge ears 00:05:53.18\00:05:55.51 that's the mechanism that God gave them 00:05:55.52\00:05:57.59 for cooling their bodies. And so, 00:05:57.60\00:05:59.44 tell me now this is the natural color 00:05:59.45\00:06:01.48 on these rabbits, these they may have 00:06:01.49\00:06:03.38 all of the different colors other than 00:06:03.39\00:06:04.76 these? Yeah, just like people, rabbits come 00:06:04.77\00:06:06.78 in all different colors, and they're kind of 00:06:06.79\00:06:08.78 fun because notice that yours is brown 00:06:08.79\00:06:10.83 and mine has a like a light brown face, 00:06:10.84\00:06:12.97 and then a dark brown on it's back. 00:06:12.98\00:06:14.63 So they have all unique patterns 00:06:14.92\00:06:16.60 and they're all different. So you 00:06:16.61\00:06:18.06 never know what's you're going to get, 00:06:18.07\00:06:19.29 this was a grab, bag it in a litter, 00:06:19.30\00:06:20.77 you have all kind of them. Yep, 00:06:20.78\00:06:22.02 and that's what makes it fun. Alright, Bonnie, 00:06:22.03\00:06:24.33 I want to thank you for allowing us 00:06:24.34\00:06:25.56 to come this afternoon, it's been a joy to be 00:06:25.57\00:06:27.35 here and see your beautiful pets. 00:06:27.36\00:06:28.76 Well, thank you, it's a privilege to show 00:06:28.77\00:06:30.76 them to you. Boys and girls, its fun to be 00:06:30.77\00:06:33.16 here and see these creatures. 00:06:33.17\00:06:34.56 Ranger Jim as always saying, don't forget 00:06:34.57\00:06:36.91 to tell Jesus that you love Him 00:06:36.92\00:06:38.61 because He really does love you. 00:06:38.62\00:06:41.61 Hi boys and girls, just for fun, 00:07:00.59\00:07:02.53 I've asked Keira, Crystal Ann and Bobby, 00:07:02.54\00:07:05.84 to write down every sin that they have 00:07:05.85\00:07:07.67 done over the last 24 hours. Let's see, 00:07:07.68\00:07:10.51 how they have done? Keira Mason, 00:07:10.52\00:07:14.78 you've been a very, very good girl. 00:07:17.04\00:07:19.45 Crystal Ann Tan, you've also have been 00:07:22.30\00:07:27.16 a very, very good person. 00:07:27.17\00:07:29.21 Robert Charles how did you do? 00:07:30.60\00:07:32.00 There uncle Buddy, but I ran out on a paper 00:07:32.72\00:07:34.59 and I had to put it all on a disc. 00:07:34.60\00:07:36.31 And even then I've like used up all 650 00:07:36.32\00:07:39.25 megabytes. It's been a rough day. 00:07:39.26\00:07:41.19 Oh! My, well, boy and girls, no matter, 00:07:44.26\00:07:50.02 if you've had this kind of a day, 00:07:50.03\00:07:52.58 or this kind of a day, Jesus will 00:07:53.13\00:07:55.99 forgive you, just ask Him. 00:07:56.00\00:07:58.20 Sometimes when I know 00:08:08.18\00:08:11.06 that I've done something wrong. 00:08:11.50\00:08:14.41 I wonder if God's love 00:08:14.95\00:08:18.24 will leave me all alone. 00:08:18.25\00:08:21.46 Will He forgive me, 00:08:22.00\00:08:25.14 for what I've said and done. 00:08:25.15\00:08:28.02 Then I remembered, 00:08:29.00\00:08:31.84 that's why He sent His son. 00:08:31.85\00:08:34.94 But if I confess my sins, 00:08:35.42\00:08:38.54 He will forgive my sins. 00:08:38.55\00:08:42.43 I can trust God, He does what is right. 00:08:42.44\00:08:48.58 But if I confess my sins, 00:08:49.11\00:08:52.21 He will forgive my sins. 00:08:52.22\00:08:55.92 He'll make me clean, 00:08:56.60\00:08:59.19 from all the wrongs I've done. 00:08:59.20\00:09:02.78 He'll forgive my sins. 00:09:03.40\00:09:09.09 Sometimes when we know 00:09:42.76\00:09:45.76 that we've done something wrong 00:09:45.77\00:09:49.25 We wonder if God's love 00:09:49.26\00:09:52.42 will leave us all alone. 00:09:52.43\00:09:55.30 Will He forgive us 00:09:55.87\00:09:59.02 for what we've said and done 00:09:59.03\00:10:02.06 Then we remember 00:10:02.77\00:10:05.37 that's why He sent His son. 00:10:05.38\00:10:08.55 But if we confess our sins, 00:10:08.91\00:10:11.87 He will forgive our sins. 00:10:12.34\00:10:15.48 We could trust God, he does what is right. 00:10:16.13\00:10:22.05 But if we confess our sins, 00:10:22.37\00:10:25.42 He will forgive our sins. 00:10:25.81\00:10:29.09 He'll make us clean 00:10:29.47\00:10:32.22 from all the wrongs we've done. 00:10:32.23\00:10:35.73 He will forgive our sins. 00:10:36.37\00:10:41.38 He will forgive my sins. 00:10:43.91\00:10:49.44 Boo. Oh! Hi Diana. I bring you some 00:12:22.88\00:12:26.46 bowl of lentils, Grandpa Jacob. 00:12:26.47\00:12:29.67 Thank you very much, Diana. 00:12:29.68\00:12:31.47 I know how much you love 00:12:31.48\00:12:33.41 lentils. I sure do, and I got a story 00:12:33.42\00:12:37.39 I think I can tell you about lentils. 00:12:37.40\00:12:39.48 When I was a little boy, my mother who 00:12:40.97\00:12:44.25 would be a, she would be your great 00:12:44.26\00:12:47.09 grandmother Rebecca. She used to tell 00:12:47.10\00:12:50.19 me stories about the birthright. 00:12:50.20\00:12:52.28 I know what the birthright is; 00:12:52.74\00:12:54.40 it's when all the riches go to the 00:12:54.41\00:12:56.27 firstborn son. Well, that's true, but it's 00:12:56.28\00:13:01.06 more than just about riches Diana, 00:13:01.07\00:13:03.19 it's about the firstborn son receiving 00:13:03.20\00:13:07.96 the blessings that God had promised to 00:13:07.97\00:13:09.72 Abraham. And my mother said that 00:13:09.73\00:13:13.86 I was to receive the birthright, 00:13:15.41\00:13:18.22 and I really looked forward? You did. 00:13:18.91\00:13:20.55 Yes, yeah, now I really look forward 00:13:20.56\00:13:23.12 to the birthright. She said that, 00:13:23.13\00:13:26.42 when I was born I grabbed the heel of my 00:13:26.43\00:13:29.70 brother Esau that would be your great uncle. 00:13:30.53\00:13:34.45 You did. Yeah, yes, that's what she 00:13:34.75\00:13:36.76 told me, but he was born a few minutes 00:13:36.77\00:13:39.43 before I was, so he was older and therefore 00:13:39.44\00:13:43.69 he got the birthright. But I remember 00:13:44.43\00:13:47.47 her telling me that an angel told her 00:13:47.48\00:13:51.45 that God said that I would have 00:13:51.46\00:13:53.25 the birthright blessing. And I 00:13:53.26\00:13:56.06 really wanted the birthright blessing. 00:13:56.07\00:13:58.23 God had promised Abraham that he'd make 00:13:58.24\00:14:01.47 of him a great nation. Now, Esau never 00:14:01.48\00:14:05.95 talked about the birthright, we never 00:14:05.96\00:14:08.22 mentioned it, he just didn't seem to care 00:14:08.23\00:14:10.89 about it. Uncle Esau, he was, 00:14:10.90\00:14:15.70 he was a hunter, he'd leave early in the 00:14:15.71\00:14:18.32 morning and he'd be out all the day long. 00:14:18.33\00:14:21.75 He would be tracking through the woods 00:14:21.76\00:14:24.03 and the fields hunting. I didn't care to hunt, 00:14:24.04\00:14:27.88 I enjoyed being around the animals, 00:14:29.01\00:14:30.58 like taking care of the sheep, goats, 00:14:30.59\00:14:33.03 and I'd help my mother around, around the 00:14:33.04\00:14:37.05 compound there. I like animals too. You do, 00:14:37.67\00:14:41.71 well we got a lot of them today, 00:14:42.42\00:14:43.69 haven't we? Well, oh! She even taught me 00:14:43.70\00:14:47.30 how to cook and then she would tell 00:14:47.31\00:14:49.71 me stories about Abraham and our great 00:14:49.72\00:14:53.01 and wonderful God. Seems to me yes, 00:14:53.02\00:14:58.52 I remember one is them with Esau, 00:14:59.08\00:15:00.86 I was making, I was cooking up a bowl 00:15:00.87\00:15:03.37 of lentils. Just like this and it was 00:15:03.38\00:15:05.62 evening time, about the time for 00:15:05.63\00:15:07.05 evening meal. And across the compound 00:15:07.06\00:15:10.67 I saw Esau coming in, and he walked over 00:15:10.68\00:15:13.69 and he sat down front of me, 00:15:13.70\00:15:14.93 which was rather unusual because Esau 00:15:14.94\00:15:16.94 and I were not close. As I said, 00:15:16.95\00:15:20.05 he was a hunter and I was a herdsman. 00:15:20.06\00:15:23.26 And so I was surprised when he came over, 00:15:23.95\00:15:26.10 and he looked so tired. He was tired 00:15:27.54\00:15:30.89 and weary and from being out all day 00:15:30.90\00:15:33.38 hunting. And, you know in my heart 00:15:33.39\00:15:36.41 I should have given him a bowl of lentils 00:15:36.42\00:15:39.55 And as I thought about it, how I was gonna 00:15:41.25\00:15:43.75 get that birthright blessing from him. 00:15:43.76\00:15:45.76 Esau said, Jacob, give me a bowl of your 00:15:45.77\00:15:49.25 lentils. And right there Diana, I got 00:15:49.26\00:15:52.50 an idea, so I took the lentil and I scooped 00:15:52.51\00:15:57.20 up into a ball, a nice big hot bunch of 00:15:57.21\00:16:00.41 lentils, and I gave them to him, 00:16:00.42\00:16:03.14 handed them out to him. But then I said, 00:16:03.70\00:16:05.69 Esau, I'll give you these lentils if you 00:16:07.00\00:16:09.96 will sell me your birthright. And Esau 00:16:09.97\00:16:13.86 looked up and he said, I'm about ready 00:16:13.87\00:16:17.33 to die Jacob, what's the birthright 00:16:17.34\00:16:20.19 blessing to me? And I said, Esau, 00:16:20.20\00:16:23.22 you swear to me that I'll have 00:16:23.23\00:16:25.24 the birthright, and he did, and then I 00:16:25.25\00:16:28.94 handed him the lentils. And he just 00:16:28.95\00:16:31.36 gobbled those things right up. 00:16:31.37\00:16:33.21 He must have been really hungry. Oh! 00:16:33.81\00:16:36.38 He sure was, my, you should have seen 00:16:36.39\00:16:39.11 his beard when he got done. 00:16:39.12\00:16:40.83 But know what? I got the birthright 00:16:42.44\00:16:44.51 blessing for just a bowl of lentils. 00:16:44.52\00:16:47.13 Well, that's what I thought, later on it 00:16:48.38\00:16:52.00 cost me a lot of heartache and sorrow 00:16:52.01\00:16:54.40 and disappointment. You know what I missed? 00:16:55.42\00:16:58.74 I missed God's miracle on how he was gonna 00:16:59.79\00:17:02.15 give me the birthright. Now that 00:17:02.16\00:17:04.54 would have been a real story. You know Diana, 00:17:04.55\00:17:08.60 it doesn't pay to cheat, even if it's for 00:17:08.61\00:17:11.50 something good that you know belongs to 00:17:11.51\00:17:13.68 you, don't do like I did. You know Diana, 00:17:13.69\00:17:19.35 God has a blessing for you, a birthright 00:17:19.36\00:17:22.30 blessing, and He has a birthright blessing 00:17:22.31\00:17:24.70 for everyone of us. If we will follow God, 00:17:24.71\00:17:28.02 He promises us eternal life. 00:17:28.46\00:17:30.68 Don't sell your birthright blessings 00:17:32.01\00:17:33.69 for a bowl of worldly lentils. 00:17:33.70\00:17:36.25 I won't, Grandpa Jacob. I love you Grandpa 00:17:37.64\00:17:42.97 Jacob. And I love you too Diana. Diana, Diana. 00:17:42.98\00:17:49.18 Oh! Grandma Leah is calling me, 00:17:49.47\00:17:51.10 I better hurry. Don't forget to eat your 00:17:51.11\00:17:53.80 lentils Grandpa Jacob. I won't. Bye.
