00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus,
00:10 it's time to share there is a world out there.
00:13 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so.
00:20 Kids time, Kids time, Kids time.
00:24 Hi, boys and girls. How do you
00:26 like my little ship? This one my friend
00:28 Kim Smith gave to me, so I could
00:30 show it to you. This ship is very much
00:33 like the one that Jesus might have
00:34 ridden in when He lived here on earth.
00:36 Many times He and His friends they
00:38 would go sailing, not just for the fun of it,
00:40 although I'm sure they had lots of wonderful
00:42 times together on the water,
00:44 times together on the water,
00:45 but the ship like this one was the best
00:46 and fastest way to get from one
00:48 side of big lake to the other side.
00:51 Also some of His friends were fisherman
00:54 and they used their boats for business
00:56 as well as pleasure. They had to
00:57 catch a lot of fish. Well, today people
01:00 travel and ride in boats and ships
01:02 much larger than that were built in
01:04 the Bible times. You know,
01:06 back when Jesus lived on earth,
01:08 there were no steamboats and there
01:10 certainly were no motorboats.
01:11 Those conveniences had not even been
01:14 invented yet, but if you go to any
01:16 large body of water today like a huge
01:19 ocean or a huge lake you'll see
01:21 all kinds of water craft from kayaks
01:24 and canoes to, even huge ocean liners
01:27 that carried thousands of people
01:28 all at one time, but in spite of all these
01:32 wonderful inventions you won't see
01:34 something that Jesus' friends saw.
01:37 You won't see Jesus in any of those boats.
01:40 How fortunate they were to have
01:42 Him ride along with them over the waves.
01:44 And if you're a person in today's
01:46 Bible story, you'd be especially
01:48 thankful that Jesus was in your boat,
01:51 but you know what? Even though
01:53 we can't see Jesus in our boats,
01:54 or our cars, or our houses,
01:56 He is there just the same. And He still
02:00 has that power and the love to take care
02:02 of you wherever you go, wherever you are?
02:06 Well, right now let's go to Ranger Jim,
02:08 as he shows us some very unusual chickens.
02:20 Hi, boys and girls Ranger Jim saying,
02:22 welcome to Nature Time, we're glad you
02:23 can join us today for you boys and girls
02:26 that have a hobby with chickens
02:27 you're gonna love this program today.
02:29 Our friend Esther is with us she's brought
02:31 a friend of her's and Esther tell us
02:32 about this, what is this chicken?
02:34 This one is a Golden Polish. Why do they
02:37 call it a Golden Polish? Because it has
02:39 the golden feathers and it has
02:43 the black tip on it. That beautiful,
02:46 what about its wing? Oh! Isn't that gorgeous?
02:49 Look at that. You are a beautiful lady.
02:52 Have you had this chicken with family
02:54 when it was a small baby? Yes,
02:55 we actually got it from a hatchery.
02:59 They're just little tiny puffs of, yes,
03:01 fluff like that. And you have to feed
03:03 them and they grow larger and larger
03:04 and larger. Do you have to use a heat lamp
03:07 with it if it gets cold or suppose.
03:08 Yes, we do, we have to use a heat lamp and,
03:12 so they don't get cold. And they actually
03:15 don't need a mother when they come
03:17 from a hatchery. So, they, they
03:20 started to become, you become their mother.
03:22 Yes, we do. You, yeah, okay, go ahead.
03:25 And we have to treat them,
03:26 some very small rocks because they have
03:30 no teeth and no digestive system,
03:34 so they have to have little rocks,
03:37 so they can, so they can digest their food.
03:40 And she is accustomed being on television.
03:42 So you're saying that these creatures
03:43 don't have a teeth, and so they eat
03:46 their food and God has made them,
03:48 so they have to go around and
03:49 find little stones and pebbles and pick
03:50 them up and that goes into a muscular
03:53 compartment called a gizzard, yeah.
03:55 And it grinds the food up like,
03:57 isn't that marvelous? Must be that
03:59 God planned that just that way, well,
04:01 we will leave that one, Dave is another
04:03 one of our friends over here, he is going
04:04 to bring it over forth, what you have here Dave?
04:06 This is our Araucana, boys and girls.
04:08 Isn't that a beauty? Okay and we're
04:11 going to try to exchange them.
04:13 And this sound that they're making,
04:14 is this a happy sound or not such a happy?
04:16 I think this is a sad sound. You think this,
04:19 she is not accustomed to being on television,
04:21 she is not real excited about that.
04:22 Beautiful what is this hanging down?
04:24 This is the beard right here and they come in,
04:28 they come in more colors than just these.
04:31 Oh! But this one here is, is brown and white,
04:35 it only has just a little bit of brown
04:38 and we call her a Corn flake. Corn flake,
04:40 I hope its Kellogg Corn Flake, okay.
04:43 That is a beautiful chicken. I wonder now.
04:46 Boys and girls that keep chickens as a hobby,
04:49 if you have learned that chickens are
04:52 able to take care of themselves from
04:53 the time they're very young and as
04:55 you told us before with the other chicken
04:56 it would be true of this chicken as well.
04:58 Yes. But someone has to care for them.
05:01 The mother normally would hatch the eggs;
05:03 she would spread out her wings much
05:04 as this one has here. She spread her
05:06 wings out like that, the babies get under
05:08 the wing up next to her body where
05:10 it's nice and warm and she take cares
05:12 of them that way, right. Yes,
05:14 it usually takes about 21 days for,
05:17 for a little egg to hatch. And then outcomes
05:21 the little chick, but they're,
05:23 they're not nice and fluffy as they
05:26 first come out, they've to dry first.
05:28 You mean they look yucky, yes they do.
05:30 Oh! And so that is the process of going
05:33 through there and we also find that
05:36 if you want to have problems anywhere
05:38 around a mother hen after her babies hatch,
05:41 you go and get near her babies and you
05:43 know what will happen, don't
05:44 you Esther? Yes. She is in your face
05:46 immediacy, right? She doesn't like
05:48 anyone around her little chicks;
05:50 she likes to protect them very well,
05:52 so no harm will come to them.
05:53 That's right and boys and girls,
05:55 there is a hymn that I love,
05:56 its called "Under His Wings" that we
05:58 sometime sing in church and that's
06:01 what it means that we're protected
06:03 by God and He cares for you and
06:05 takes care of you. Our friend they've
06:07 had some eggs, Dave would you bring
06:08 the eggs over for us to see. Esther,
06:10 can you point out to those and show
06:11 us about some of the different colors there,
06:13 yes, if you have a free hand? Yes,
06:15 most chickens lay either the brown
06:17 or the lighter brown or sometimes
06:20 even white. And but this chicken here is a,
06:23 is an Araucana, so it leaves either
06:26 very through blue or green.
06:30 Well, isn't that interesting?
06:32 Boys and girls, it's so much fun
06:33 to have someone come. And Esther
06:35 thank you for coming, being knowledgeable
06:36 about these creatures and helping
06:38 to boys and girls to see and enjoy them.
06:40 They're so interesting, I have learned
06:41 so much from you today, I'm sure
06:43 that the boys and girls have learned.
06:44 If you have pets at home that are chicken
06:46 boys and girls, always take care of them
06:48 because Jesus expects us to do that.
06:51 Okay, as always Ranger Jim saying
06:53 don't forget to tell Jesus that you love
06:55 Him because He really does love you.
07:06 Hi, boys and girls, some times
07:08 I have terrific days when I get to play
07:10 baseball, get to go shopping,
07:13 get to go to the dentist,
07:15 that's kind of fun. But other days
07:17 I've scary days and those are bad.
07:19 Keira, what are you scared of?
07:22 Snakes, how about you Adam,
07:26 what are you scared of? The dark.
07:28 The dark! You know some time I worry
07:32 about other stuff like, is it gonna rain
07:34 on my baseball game? That's not good,
07:36 but I've decided one thing boys and girls
07:39 I'm gonna give my worries to the Lord.
07:48 Hey, we don't have any singers.
07:50 Kids Time singers where are you?
07:53 We need just; we need you right now.
07:59 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:02 He will take good care of you.
08:04 He will never let his people
08:06 down, down, down, down
08:09 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:13 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:15 He will take good care of you.
08:18 He will never let his people
08:20 down, down, down, down
08:22 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:27 Worry about tomorrow, no
08:29 Worry about this afternoon, no
08:31 Don't you know that worries get you
08:34 down, down, down, down
08:36 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:41 Worry about the weather, no
08:43 Worry about your soccer game, no
08:45 Don't you know that worries
08:47 get you down, down, down, down,
08:50 Give your worries to the Lord,
08:54 For the Lord cares for you.
08:58 For the Lord cares for me and you
09:03 For the Lord cares for you.
09:08 Give your worries to the Lord,
09:11 He will take good care of you.
09:13 He will never let His people
09:15 down, down, down, down,
09:18 Give your worries to the Lord,
09:22 Give your worries to the Lord.
09:36 Do you like pizza as much as I do?
09:37 If you like pizza then you're gonna
09:39 love this homemade pizza. I've got a
09:42 recipe that so easy that I can,
09:44 you can do it too. Here's the ingredients.
09:47 1 cup warm water. 1 tsp. salt
09:51 1/4 cup of honey 1/4 cup of canola oil
09:57 1 Tbsp. dry yeast, and
10:00 1½-2 cups of flour (approximately)
10:04 We start with wet ingredients,
10:06 gonna mix the water, and the oil
10:10 and the honey altogether in this bowl,
10:17 now oil. My aunt Linda has been
10:22 making this pizza dough and pizza as long as
10:24 I can remember, she's always made homemade
10:27 pizza whenever we'd have a family reunion,
10:30 everybody loves it, yeah.
10:45 Okay, mix up the wet, little bit,
10:52 now we're gonna add the dry,
10:53 the yeast, the yeast in, and the salts,
11:07 mix that all. And now we're gonna,
11:10 we're gonna add the flour,
11:13 when you add the flour it's not really
11:14 a certain amount just still it starts
11:16 to kind of make a dough, start adding the flour,
11:21 add a little bit more and stir it,
11:27 and you just gonna keep adding until
11:28 it gets a little bit hard to stir and
11:31 it gets into a dough kind of,
11:36 and some more. Kind of a hard
11:40 and it gets hard to, let me tell you
11:42 if it's hard to stir and it's really,
11:44 you just can't hardly stir it anymore,
11:46 then it's probably about ready to knead.
11:53 And it makes wonderful pizzas or Calzones
11:57 or anything you want to put on it,
12:02 little bit more and it's getting a little
12:03 harder, but, need a little, a little
12:06 more flour then were ready to,
12:11 when you really can't stir anymore then
12:13 you want to take get in with your hands,
12:17 and get the rest of the dough out,
12:19 with your hands and get it kind of together.
12:33 Now, you want to keep adding, you
12:35 want to keep kneading and adding
12:36 flour to the sides like this until it forms
12:40 a nice firm ball. And after that then
12:47 you're ready to make pizza,
12:48 so we stick it on the pan and flatten
12:53 it a little bit and push it down,
13:02 flatten it, it's ready to make pizza,
13:11 and now stretching it out little bit,
13:18 alright. It's about ready okay,
13:27 oops, you got a little, maybe
13:35 a little crustier on the side or
13:37 it can make it, like that, stretch
13:46 it out much as you can,
13:48 if you don't, you don't let it sit and rise it,
13:51 it's a little tougher, it's a little
13:53 bit harder to stretch out and push
13:56 out like this is, and it still works
13:59 and it still tastes delicious. That looks
14:03 about done, and when you get it into
14:05 a round shape then you wanna get
14:09 your sauce ready, this, get your
14:15 sauce ready, now put the sauce
14:20 in the middle, a little bit too much sauce,
14:30 there you go. Just how much you like,
14:32 if you like it real saucey then you
14:34 put a lot on it, if you don't like it
14:35 very much then just a little bit.
14:41 There you go, you like crust
14:43 then you can leave, you leave some
14:45 around the edges sort of leave
14:48 enough for the crust, it looks about to ready.
14:54 And you can really put any kind,
14:55 any kind, you can get creative
14:57 with this, you can put anything
14:58 you want on it. I love black olives,
15:00 so I'm gonna put black olives,
15:01 if you like peppers, you like onions
15:03 or maybe eggplant or anything,
15:05 you can put on it, maybe some
15:09 tofu cheese or any thing's really good,
15:16 okay. Now, you're gonna bake this
15:20 in a 400 degree oven for about
15:22 15 to 20 minute until the crust is
15:23 golden brown and nice and looks
15:27 very good and, doesn't that just
15:29 look beautiful? Well, until next
15:34 time keep cooking and eat healthy.
15:46 I can't believe it. It just happened
15:51 last night seems like the dream.
15:57 Oh! Hi, boys and girls I'm still thinking
16:00 about what happened last night.
16:02 Oh! By the way, I'm Thaddeus,
16:05 one of Jesus disciples, you can call me Thad.
16:09 Well, look we've been teaching and actually
16:11 Jesus have been doing the teaching
16:12 and we disciples were learning,
16:15 he's over on the other side of the
16:16 Sea of Galilee and crowds have been
16:19 pushing in all day and Jesus have been
16:21 teaching about faith, How our faith
16:24 can grow like a grain of mustard seed
16:26 when it's planted. If it's watered
16:29 and then nudged it, it can grow
16:31 and we can have more confidence
16:32 in our loving heavenly Father.
16:35 We've been talking about this all day long.
16:38 Well, it was late evening Jesus finally
16:42 said to His disciples, He said,
16:44 hey fellows it's time we take a break.
16:47 Let's go, get in a boat and go across
16:51 the Sea of Galilee. Well, we went down,
16:56 got a boat, hardly we gotten in the
16:59 boat that Jesus found the pillow
17:00 and He went back into the back of
17:01 the boat and laid down and went to sleep.
17:05 He was very tired, we were all tired,
17:09 wasn't just us though. Other little
17:12 boats followed along, wanted to be
17:14 with Jesus, wherever He went,
17:15 that's the way it always was,
17:17 hard to get away from crowd.
17:20 Jesus was almost asleep immediately,
17:22 yes. We were hanging on and just
17:26 kind of enjoying the evening and
17:28 glassy waters and Sun was sinking
17:31 in the west, darkness came,
17:35 the stars came out, it was a
17:37 beautiful night, a gentle wind,
17:39 we raised the sail to give us a little
17:43 help getting across. What a peaceful night?
17:48 After such a busy, busy day. Well,
17:53 suddenly I felt the boat make a sudden move,
17:58 and I didn't know why? And then
17:59 I felt this wind. The boat had moved,
18:03 the boat, the boat was moving,
18:04 the wind was blowing and I looked
18:06 over in the sky and there was a dark
18:08 cloud coming up. What did that mean?
18:11 Soon, a clap of thunder and flash
18:15 of lightening and the sky was dark,
18:19 the wind whipped up and the sea
18:21 suddenly just boiled up, as if was
18:23 a sudden storm, could happen there,
18:25 it happen before but not like this,
18:29 suddenly the boat was rocking,
18:31 water begin to pour in. One of the
18:33 disciples looked to Jesus and said,
18:35 hey Jesus don't you care about us,
18:39 we're going down. Jesus was asleep.
18:44 Rocking, some of us bailing, throwing
18:46 water out of the boat, trying to save us.
18:50 And someone said, one of the disciples
18:51 said, Jesus, hey, save us, save us.
18:57 With that? Do you know what?
18:58 Jesus suddenly waked right up,
19:01 He waked right up and He looked at us,
19:05 and then He did the most strange thing,
19:08 Jesus stood up and He raised His
19:12 hands and He said, these words,
19:16 peace, be still. And just like that
19:23 I couldn't believe it, the storm stopped,
19:26 the waves no longer rolled; it was as
19:29 glassy and peaceful as this floor.
19:35 Wow! We were all amazed.
19:38 How did this happen? One of them said,
19:42 Wow! Who is this man? Even the waves
19:47 obey His voice. And then we
19:52 remembered that Jesus who was the Creator,
19:57 he made it all happen, it was His work,
20:03 He commanded and it was obeyed.
20:09 You know, I'm learning from this
20:11 experience with Jesus last night
20:15 that He is always in the boat with me
20:20 and He's always in the boat with you.
20:23 Regardless of what waves of life
20:26 or storms you maybe in boys and girls,
20:28 and what frustration you're feeling
20:30 in your life. Remember, Jesus is in
20:34 the boat with you. And the words
20:37 that get His attention most are these.
20:42 Master, Lord, save us, save us, save us.
21:05 The B-I-B-L-E yes that's the book for me
21:10 I stand alone on the Word of God The B-I-B-L-E.
21:17 The B-I-B-L-E yes that's the book for me
21:22 I stand alone on the Word of God The B-I-B-L-E.
21:37 Well, thank you Caitlin for that
21:38 beautiful song, "The B-I-B-L-E." Well,
21:42 I would like to introduce you to
21:43 someone today. Who I know reads
21:45 his B-I-B-L-E and that is my friend James.
21:48 James, can you say hi to the
21:49 boys and girls at home? Hi. Listen,
21:52 I wanted you to tell me about,
21:53 what you do to witness for Jesus?
21:56 Well, I have two things. One of my
21:58 things is I have a friendship ministry
22:00 and what I do is. Now tell, what
22:02 is a friendship ministry, that's
22:03 sound interesting? Well, my friendship
22:06 ministry, I go around and I encourage
22:08 people that are like, feeling like
22:10 no ones cares about them. Or that you know,
22:13 they're left out or anything like that.
22:15 Somebody that just feels like,
22:16 then you see maybe you think they
22:18 need a friend. Yeah, lonesome,
22:21 that's lonesome. And, yeah,
22:22 and how do you go about starting
22:23 that friendship? Well, you slowly
22:26 want to build a relationship 'cause you
22:28 don't wanna give it to them so quick
22:30 you know, 'cause that could scare me,
22:32 right. So, you get a good friendship
22:34 and then little-by-little you just give.
22:37 Give what? Give your knowledge
22:39 about Jesus and love and care.
22:42 That's awesome. So, if you were
22:43 wanting to lead someone to Jesus.
22:45 What would be the one of the first
22:47 things you would tell them?
22:49 I, I would them I would ask them
22:50 if I can pray with them and tell them
22:53 that God loves them and then everyone
22:55 loves them and they're special
22:56 'cause God created them each.
22:58 Awesome, I can't think of a better
22:59 place to start, can you? I think that's
23:01 awesome. Have you got any special
23:04 maybe experience in your friendship
23:06 ministry? Well, one time I was over
23:08 at my friend's house and she had
23:10 just got back from school and she
23:12 had felt very lonely because she
23:14 had a really hard day school. And everyone
23:16 was teasing her, and I didn't help
23:17 too much 'cause her little sister was
23:19 teasing her too. So, I came over and
23:22 I shared God with her, I told her that
23:24 God loves her, everyone loves her.
23:26 And that God creates us each and
23:28 He loves every one of us and I gave
23:30 her a verse of encouragement, Joshua
23:33 1:9. And in Joshua 1:9 it talks about,
23:36 how God is encouraging and how
23:40 He'll always be with you and never
23:41 leave you. Oh! That's fantastic.
23:44 And how did she respond? And she
23:46 responded pretty good towards.
23:48 She told me thanks and she felt
23:50 a lot better. Oh! That's wonderful.
23:52 Now, you mentioned you had another
23:53 minister, what is that? Yeah,
23:55 I was out with my friend and we're all
23:57 passing these batteries right here,
23:59 and. Now, wait a minut passing batteries,
24:02 I never heard of passing batteries I,
24:04 I've heard of passing books, yeah,
24:05 you know, but this sounds interesting,
24:07 what is? Well, how do you pass a battery,
24:09 and how did you start that? Well,
24:13 we're from the Adventist Youth Group
24:15 and we go out and we do, you know little
24:18 community services. One of the things
24:20 that we're doing earlier is passing out
24:22 the batteries for smoke detectors,
24:24 and we're giving them out free.
24:26 And on the back they have a little
24:27 verse right here. Can you read it to me?
24:30 Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed
24:33 of the Gospel of Christ: for it is
24:35 the power of God to salvation for everyone
24:38 who believes for the Jews first and
24:42 also the Greeks." Romans 1:16. Amen,
24:45 that is awesome. And the first house
24:48 that we went to, one of the guys he
24:49 was like you know, he, he had been
24:52 raised you know, Christianly, but he had
24:55 kind of started straying and he felt
24:56 like God didn't love him you know,
24:58 you know stuff like that. And so,
25:00 we know we encouraged him and told
25:01 about the hope for the whole main meetings
25:03 and stuff. Awesome, and, and you've had,
25:07 you've had probably a lot of wonderful
25:09 experiences to share, didn't you? Yeah.
25:12 I wish we had time to hear all of them
25:13 boy and girls, which I don't,
25:15 but I have the time, I'd like to just
25:17 read a couple of letters today
25:19 real quickly and maybe James, could you
25:21 hold up this picture for me. Oh! Sure.
25:23 And it's, and just hold it and show
25:25 it to that camera right there. And this says,
25:27 dear Ms. Brenda greetings. And this
25:30 is from the Philippines. And greetings in
25:33 the most precious name of our
25:34 Savior Jesus Christ, thank you for the
25:36 blessings to our country through 3ABN. We
25:39 get to watch your show every night
25:41 and it's become part of our routine
25:43 and so we really have a lot to be
25:45 thankful for. Me and my sister Amaya
25:50 are so excited every night to see what
25:51 new stories, songs we'll get to learn.
25:53 How I wish we could learn how to play
25:55 different musical instruments like
25:57 the children in your show. I have my
25:59 piano lesson every summer, but I'm the only,
26:02 only in the second grade piano lesson.
26:05 By the way, I'm Angelic, I'm eight years
26:07 old and in the grade three and my sister
26:09 Amaya is 5. And it said, please may God
26:12 continue to bless you love Angelic.
26:14 Well, thank you so much for your letter
26:16 Angelic. Thank you, James for being with us
26:18 here today. And boys and girls
26:20 where ever you are, whatever you do,
26:22 remember, its Kids Time to share Jesus.
