00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus. 00:10 It's time to share there's a world out there, 00:13 let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:16 Let's tell them that He loves us so. 00:20 Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:25 Oh, hi, boys and girls. 00:27 I was just writing a letter to my friend Morrie. 00:29 She lives far away in Richmond, Virginia 00:32 and I don't get to see her very often. 00:34 I love to write and tell her all about my grandson Michael 00:38 and how cute he is and all the sweet things he does 00:40 and do you know what, she likes to receive 00:42 my letters and hear about it. 00:44 She also likes to write and tell me 00:45 about her granddaughter Makela and I love hearing about her. 00:49 How about you? 00:50 Have you ever received the letter from anyone? 00:53 If so, you know the excitement that you feel 00:55 when the envelope comes in the mail 00:57 and your name is on it and your friends name 01:00 is in the upper left hand corner. 01:01 Oh, I'm sure you just tear that envelope--open 01:04 as fast as you can just to see what your friend has to say. 01:08 Maybe you like to write letters too. 01:10 Just imagine how happy someone will be 01:12 when they receive a letter from you. 01:15 Today, people don't write letters 01:16 as much as they did in the past. 01:18 I think email has a lot to do with that. 01:21 People can easily quickly dash off a quick note 01:24 to communicate almost instantly 01:26 with anyone else who uses email. 01:28 But, you know what, when you use email 01:32 you usually type a quick note and you don't normally put 01:35 a lot of thought into it, do you? 01:37 Probably less thought than if we were to sit down 01:39 and write a long leisure letter 01:42 like I wouldn't probably take the time to tell her 01:44 how cute Michael was when he hit that ball 01:47 so far in the yard. 01:49 But, you know, God has written letter to us. 01:53 He didn't actually take a pen and paper 01:56 like this to write us letter, did He. 01:58 He inspired writers who loved and served Him 02:00 to write history, poetry, instruction, stories 02:04 and wise observations for us to read. 02:09 And, you know, God chose only writers 02:11 who would write thoughtfully and carefully 02:14 reflecting His ideas and wishes. 02:16 Letters are important documents, 02:18 but I think God's letter to us is called the Bible, 02:22 the Holy Bible, that's the most important letter of all. 02:26 Today's Bible story however does talk 02:29 about a man in trouble and this man 02:31 thought that a letter would solve his problem. 02:34 We will listen and find out if he was right, okay. 02:37 Well, right now though Ranger Jim 02:39 is going to tell us about Scottish Terriers. 02:48 Hi, boys and girls. 02:50 Ranger Jim saying welcome to "Nature Time." 02:51 We are glad you can join us today. 02:53 We have two new friends with us. 02:54 We have Esther and her pet and Esther is going to be 02:57 telling us something about it. 02:58 What kind of dog is this Esther? 03:00 This is a Scottish Terrier. And she is a beautiful lady. 03:03 What is her name? Greta. 03:05 Greta and Greta you are a lovely lady. 03:08 And is this typical, the black coloration in them? 03:10 Yes it is. And I understand that 03:12 there are some white strains of this dog? 03:15 Yes there are, she actually has 03:17 some white in her background. 03:19 I see. And also I understand 03:21 that the white Terriers are much more expensive 03:24 than these black. Yes they are. 03:25 They are much more so. 03:27 And this is a typical terrier, she is a little small 03:30 for her size and that is true quite often. 03:33 We may have a dog that's quite a bit larger 03:35 for the breed and then a smaller 03:37 and she is the very delicate little feminine lady, okay. 03:40 And so typical of these terriers, 03:44 is she is a picky eater. 03:45 Yes, she is very picky eater. 03:47 Do you have one boys and girls, 03:49 do you have a dog, maybe you have one 03:50 that just gulps its food down. 03:52 Then you may have another dog that just nibbles 03:54 at its food and you think it might starve, 03:56 but it's getting enough if you have the right food there, 03:58 its getting enough food. 04:00 And what about being a little independent? 04:02 She is very independent. 04:05 Very independent, has the mind of her own, right? 04:08 Yes. Okay. 04:09 What about being oh, could we--do we dare 04:12 say in the presence of a lovely lady like this 04:14 that she maybe it's just a little bit stubborn. 04:16 Yes, she is. 04:18 Okay, and that's typical with terriers 04:20 and they have a mind of their own. 04:22 And folks that are looking at this that have, 04:24 that own a Scottie know what we are talking about. 04:26 These creatures-- do you take her 04:28 to have her trimmed and got it. 04:29 Yeah, we do. 04:30 In the summer time we have her trimmed. 04:32 And it makes her much more comfortable, doesn't it. Yeah 04:35 And those of you that owns Scottie, 04:36 you will see that its individual preference 04:40 that they enjoy having her a little more fluffy. 04:43 Her hair is little longer than some people would have it. 04:45 And you can see her beard is very short and oh gush, 04:48 she is going to yawn for us. 04:49 You see she is bored with the whole product 04:51 and she has very furry ears and I think that's so neat 04:55 in this dog and she has eyebrows that hang down. 04:58 And sometimes we see older grandfather like people 05:01 they have the long eyebrows up like that 05:03 and I think my stuff, they look a little bit 05:05 like a Scottie Terrier, okay. 05:07 Tell me do you have friends that have other dogs? 05:10 Yeah, I do. 05:12 Do they enjoy coming and seeing your dog? 05:14 Yes, they do very much. 05:16 That's we have had dogs in the past 05:19 were huge big dogs and we would go to 05:21 somewhere else house and they have a little Scottie Terrier 05:23 and when they get to know you-- 05:24 now a Scottie doesn't normally just come 05:26 to a stranger and jump up in their lap, do they? No. 05:29 No, they wait a while, 05:30 they are going to check you all over 05:32 and see what you are going to do. 05:33 If your quite boys and girls, 05:34 if you are visiting someone who has a Scottie, 05:36 you come up and ask the owners, 05:38 is it okay if I pet her 05:39 and if you do you just extend your hand out 05:41 and let the dog come up and sniff of your hand, 05:43 you see as she is doing now. 05:45 And once she accepts you its okay 05:47 and if the owner says it's safe, 05:48 then you might stroke her gently on the head. 05:50 So be very careful like that, 05:52 because many dogs like this Scottie is independent. 05:55 They don't want you-- you don't own me, 05:56 you can't just come in and start petting me 05:58 like you have been here for ever. 06:00 And so this is typical of these breeds 06:02 and they are very loyal breed of dogs 06:04 and they are very faithful, aren't they? 06:06 Yes. She is very faithful. 06:08 And do have you have you ever taken her to school 06:10 for show and tell. No, I haven't. 06:11 So you haven't take her there, okay. 06:13 Some time boys and girls, 06:14 I know there are many boys and girls 06:15 that are watching that take their dog to school 06:17 and show them for show and tell. 06:19 And quite often they are Scotties or they smaller. 06:22 There are different breeds of the terriers 06:25 that are much larger than this 06:26 that you may see boys and girls 06:28 and many of them have a very, very long beard here. 06:31 The female and the male have a very long beard 06:33 that hangs down and they are trimmed. 06:36 In some of the poodles you will see, 06:38 I think extremely 06:39 so but I like them better like this, 06:40 when they have their hairs a little longer. 06:42 What about brushing, do you brush her? 06:44 Yeah, I do. You keep her brushed 06:46 and comb and every thing. Do they shed much? 06:49 No, Scott Terriers 06:50 do not shed that much. Okay, that's good. 06:52 That makes them a better house pet, 06:54 doesn't it? Yes, it does. 06:55 We have some friends 06:56 who have a Golden Retriever in their home and oh, 06:59 I tell my wife we go there 07:00 but every time when I get home well, 07:02 you have to take and clean your clothes 07:03 because the retrievers they do shed, 07:06 they have a very, very deep coat. 07:08 So that makes the Scottie 07:09 even more a better pet to have in a home 07:11 and of course she is trained to a box 07:13 and she doesn't-- you don't have to worry 07:15 about them soiling or anything like that. No. 07:18 At a very early age. 07:19 And many people have problem with the Scotties, 07:21 they are little more difficult to train 07:23 but with persistence and you keep working at, 07:25 soon they will be trained. 07:26 So this has been a exciting time 07:29 and we would like to thank you 07:30 on behalf of all the boys and girls. 07:33 Its time to witness boys and girls, 07:36 that you would bring it today 07:37 and we could see your lovely pet. 07:39 So Ranger Jim as always boys and girls, 07:40 saying don't forget to tell Jesus that you love Him, 07:44 because He really does love you. 07:58 Hello, boys and girls, I am here with my son Adam. 08:02 Hi, boys and girls. And Adam, who is this? 08:05 Tilley the Barrett's dog. Tilley the Barrett's dog. 08:08 Now do we have a dog? Yes. What's her name? 08:11 Nelly. Nelly, what? Fred. 08:14 Nelly Fred, that's right, 08:15 because Brandon helped us name Nelly Fred, didn't he. 08:17 Now when you are taking care of Nelly Fred, 08:19 what do you get to do? 08:22 I feed her, I take care of her. 08:25 Do you water her sometimes? Yes. 08:27 You let her run sometimes, absolutely, absolutely. 08:31 Now, boys and girls, 08:33 we could be kind and loving to all of God's creatures, 08:36 because Jesus gave us strength. 08:42 I can do all things, I can do all things, 08:48 I can do all things through Him 08:52 who gives me strength. 08:57 I will be kind because He gives me strength. 09:03 I will be truthful because He gives me strength. 09:09 I will be loving because He gives me strength. 09:15 I will be joyful because He gives me strength. 09:22 I can do all things, I can do all things, 09:28 I can do all things through Him 09:32 who gives me strength. 09:37 I will be patient because He gives me strength. 09:43 I will be faithful because He gives me strength. 09:49 I will be gentle because He gives me strength. 09:55 I will be caring because He gives me strength. 10:03 I can do all things, I can do all things, 10:08 I can do all things through Him 10:11 who gives me strength. 10:24 My mom makes the best vegeburgers. 10:28 They are so good even my brother brings in his lunch 10:31 and he sells them to his meat eating friends. 10:34 And they throw away their meat they want to just-- 10:35 they can have a vegeburger. 10:38 Well, I'll share her recipe with you now. 11:17 We are gonna start with our Yves burger 11:21 and you can use Worthington too 11:23 but Yves is my favorite, so use this. 11:27 We will go ahead and dump in the bowl. 11:32 And if you have any other kind of burger at home, 11:34 that's fine too, any kind of vegeburger, 11:37 its fine. Put in the bowl, 11:39 then we use our tofu and this is Mori-Nu tofu. 11:45 And it's what it looks like at the package 11:46 when you buy it. 11:48 And its Mori-Nu is our favorite but you can really, 11:51 you can use any kind of brand of tofu. Put this in. 11:57 Just go ahead and smash it up into the burger, 12:00 so it kind of mix them. 12:02 Use a fork and kind of mix it 12:04 and blend it in with the burger. 12:10 And get it all mashed up, 12:12 you don't want too big as a chunks, 12:13 but you don't want it all completely blended, 12:18 but you don't want humongous chunks in there. 12:22 Like this, okay. And then mix it 12:29 and you get all the chunks up, 12:31 like this and you want to mix it all up. 12:38 It really doesn't matter from there 12:39 what you put in just see that-- 12:43 to get you get everything in, flour is in. 12:53 And then these, 12:58 put some bragg's liquid aminos 13:05 and our oat meal. 13:11 Mix it up, okay. 13:17 These vegeburgers are also freeze really great. 13:22 You can freeze them in. 13:24 Whenever I want something in my lunch 13:26 and don't have anything for lunch, 13:28 just go to the freezer and grab one out and thaw. 13:32 We'll add seasoning. 13:47 And the last thing that we are gonna 13:49 add is our vegenaise and vegenaise, 13:53 it's what it looks like when it comes in the bottle. 13:55 And vegenaise is, it's made with-- 14:00 it's made with grapeseed oil, 14:03 so it's really good for you. You can put that in. 14:12 Put all out and mix it all up, real good. 14:19 There it's all mixed in. 14:24 Let's stir it till it looks about like this 14:26 and then we're ready to fry. Move this out of the way. 14:36 I'm gonna add a little bit of oil to fry them in, 14:39 some olive oil, just a little bit, 14:41 you don't want too much though. 14:45 Now when you take these vegeburgrers 14:48 and you want a form them in the patties 14:51 kind of with your hands, little bit more. 14:58 So that it looks kind of like a patty in oval round shape. 15:04 You're gonna take it 15:06 and put on the pan 15:16 in oil. Let fry for a second. 15:20 Now it's about ready to flip, 15:22 so I am gonna ahead and flip it. 15:25 You see how golden and brown that it, it's delicious. 15:29 Oh, I have got my finished product 15:31 here for you already in the buns and everything. 15:37 Now, if you are still eating those dead cow, 15:40 you should really try a vegeburger, 15:42 because they are really, really delicious. 15:43 I will promise you, you won't miss the meat. 15:48 Well, until next time keep cooking and eat healthy. 16:00 Slavery, I hate it. 16:03 How could one man be subject to something so terrible? 16:08 Being a slave is almost worst than being an animal. 16:11 My name is Onesimus, 16:13 and I hated slavery more than you could ever imagine, 16:16 but that is how I found myself 16:17 in the house of Philemon. 16:20 Not a bad man but a Roman citizen 16:22 who believed in slavery and I belong to Philemon. 16:27 How I hated being told what to do every moment. 16:31 How I hated being called a slave. 16:33 How I hated being told to go to 16:35 and fro from place to place. 16:38 Hating it so much that I decided 16:41 that I would run away, 16:42 a dangerous thing because slaves who run away 16:44 if captured could be tortured or even killed. 16:48 Yet, I ran away 16:49 from my master Philemon on my way to Rome. 16:53 And on my way to Rome I was so happy to be free. 16:57 And in Rome I met a man by the name of Paul, 17:02 a great preacher named Paul. 17:05 This man, Paul, told me of this wonderful 17:08 Savior's love of this Jesus of Nazareth. 17:13 This man named Jesus how He transformed 17:15 and how He changed peoples' lives 17:17 when they came in contact with Him. 17:19 Oh, what a wonderful, 17:20 wonderful man this must have been, 17:22 this Jesus of Nazareth. 17:24 Paul himself under arrest in Rome, 17:27 yet he found the time to take me in 17:32 almost as a son to him, 17:33 explaining me all the wonderful things about Jesus, 17:37 said about love and about heaven, 17:39 and about joy and happiness and peace 17:41 and the word that I love the most freedom, freedom. 17:47 I told Paul, I had indeed been a slave 17:51 and I belong to Philemon. Philemon was his friend. 17:54 I did not want to go back a slave. 17:57 Paul knew that, Paul knew that, 17:59 I wanted to be a free man 18:00 especially learning about this Jesus. 18:04 So Paul wrote the most wonderful letter to Philemon. 18:07 He didn't have to do it but he did. 18:10 He wrote the most wonderful letter to Philemon 18:13 and asked him if in Christian love 18:16 if he could find a way to forgive me for running away 18:20 and to restore my freedom and to send me back to Rome. 18:25 What a wonderful man this Paul was. 18:28 I heard he was a terrible man one day, 18:30 but what a wonderful man he had become and befriended me 18:32 and took me into his home even as one of his sons. 18:38 What love and what redemption, 18:40 what power it was in being forgiven and being free. 18:45 In Rome, I learned not only about my freedom 18:48 and about forgiveness and about Jesus, 18:50 but I also learned about 18:52 how a Savior could die for my sins. 18:56 And how someone 18:57 so wonderful could take my life 18:59 and change it and make it anew. 19:03 I learned about forgiveness, 19:05 about how God can forgive us of all of our sins. 19:08 And yet me a slave, 19:11 a man always working for others. 19:14 If however if I could not be free in body, 19:16 I could be free in mind and free in spirit, 19:19 because God, this wonderful Savior loved me. 19:24 Yes, I had run away, but even if I would run away, 19:27 even if I would run away, even I were caught, 19:31 I knew that I would always be free 19:33 in this man name Jesus. 19:36 Slavery is indeed a terrible thing 19:38 and a derogatory thing and it makes me so mad, 19:41 and makes me so angry. 19:43 But I am so happy to know that I have a Savior 19:46 who still loves me and who watches over me 19:50 each and every single day. I went back to Rome, 19:54 I went back and back into the house of Philemon, 19:57 a wonderful man, 19:59 but whether or not he forgave me 20:00 was not important anymore. 20:03 What was important to me was the Savior's love. 20:07 And although I was a slave, 20:10 I am forgiven and the heaven is for everyone. 20:14 It's for slave, it is for the rich, 20:15 it is for the poor, it is for the Jew, 20:17 it's for the Gentile, it's for everyone. 20:21 And me a lowly slave, I learned that lesson. 20:24 The salvation is for everyone, 20:26 even a lowly runaway slave as myself. 20:31 I thank God that even though I am bound by chains, 20:35 that I'm free by this man called Jesus. 20:55 Jesus went as far as to know how to pray. 21:00 What's prayer? It's simply talking to God. 21:03 Here is a prayer Jesus used as an example 21:07 of how do we should talk to God. 21:09 Matthew 6 verses 9 to 13. 21:13 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 21:16 your kingdom come, your will be done, 21:19 on earth as it is in heaven. 21:21 Give us today our daily bread. 21:23 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 21:27 And do not lead us into temptation, 21:30 but deliver us from the evil one, 21:32 for yours is the kingdom and the power 21:35 and the glory forever. 21:46 Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name 21:56 your kingdom come, 21:59 your will be done on earth as it is in heaven 22:10 Give us this day our daily bread 22:15 and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors 22:24 and do not lead us into temptation 22:33 But deliver us from the evil one, 22:37 for yours is the kingdom 22:42 and the power and glory forever 22:52 Our Father, in heaven, hallowed be your name 23:16 Thank you, Nataleigh, for that beautiful song. 23:18 Well, boys and girls, I like to share 23:19 some letters with you today. 23:21 This one is from Adrian, he is from Dubuque, Iowa. 23:24 He says dear Ms. Brenda, my name is Adrian, 23:26 I just turned six-years old. 23:28 I enjoy watching Kids Time and also sharing Jesus 23:32 with my eight month old sister Lila. 23:34 The other Friday I told my friends 23:36 that I had to stop playing and go inside 23:38 and prepare for Sabbath. 23:39 When they asked me what the Sabbath is, 23:41 I told them it was another name for church. 23:44 I have a song and would like to sing at "Praise Time" 23:46 if you would like me to. 23:47 Please send me an Activity Book, love Adrian. 23:50 And Adrian, he has sent 23:51 a picture of his sister and him. 23:54 And I think he is feeding his little sister with bottle, 23:57 isn't that adorable. 23:58 Thank you, Adrian, for that beautiful picture. 24:03 And I want to tell you 24:04 that if you want to be on "Praise Time" 24:06 I want you to send me a video tape of your singing 24:09 and send it to 3ABN 24:11 and I will be happy to listen to it. 24:13 Make sure you will send me your phone number too, okay. 24:16 All right, let's see there is another one here 24:18 it says from Port Saint Lucie, Florida. 24:21 Hope I said that right. 24:23 And some more pictures. 24:24 Oh, I will show you the pictures 24:26 first this time boys and girls. 24:27 Here is this picture right here, 24:30 we will find out who that is. 24:31 And there is another picture right here, 24:34 you see that.
