00:03 It's time to share there's a world out
00:06 there, looking for a friend like Jesus,
00:10 it's time to share there's a world
00:12 out there. Let's tell them that
00:15 He loves us so. Let's tell them
00:18 that He loves us so. Kids
00:21 Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:25 Hi, boys and girls, I'm seeing
00:27 red today, maybe I should take off
00:29 this glasses don't you think?
00:31 That's much better, now I can see
00:33 normally I don't like seeing red very much.
00:37 By the way have you ever heard that
00:38 expression before, boy he saw red
00:41 or she just saw red, if so you know
00:45 that expression means that someone
00:47 was very angry. Well, today's Bible
00:50 story tells the story of a woman
00:52 who saw red for a little while,
00:54 she was angry and she was angry
00:57 with God's servant and even just a
01:00 little bit angry with God. But do you know
01:02 what? God understands when we're
01:05 angry and he's big enough to take
01:07 all of our bad thoughts and our
01:09 feelings without turning against us
01:11 or getting upset with us.
01:12 When we're angry and even if we
01:15 might be angry at God he is patient
01:18 and loving he even encourages us
01:20 to let out all of our feelings when
01:23 we talk to him. Now, you might
01:26 ask how do we talk to God,
01:28 well it's really quite simple even though
01:31 the Bible doesn't tell us that we have
01:33 to close our eyes when we pray or
01:35 we talk to God. It is a good idea to do that,
01:39 because sometimes you know we might
01:41 see the things that all around us that
01:43 might take our minds off of what we
01:45 want to talk to God about. And then you
01:48 just talk and talk out loud or maybe in a
01:51 whisper or you can even just talk
01:55 in your thoughts in your head, because
01:57 Jesus can read your thoughts, did you
01:59 know that? He can and you talk just the
02:02 way you would to your best friend
02:03 if your best friend was just sitting right
02:05 beside you. And if you're angry tell
02:09 him about it and tell him why? You will be
02:12 surprised at just how quickly you
02:15 might get over all those bad feelings.
02:17 You know, it's not a sin to be angry but
02:23 it is a sin to hold on to that anger or to
02:26 try to hurt someone when you're angry.
02:30 And if you've ever, ever been angry at God,
02:32 thinking he hasn't treated you fairly.
02:34 Tell him about it, then listen, I want to listen
02:38 hard, don't be in a hurry.
02:40 You'll be amazed at how God will talk
02:43 to you by putting brand new thoughts
02:45 and feeling into your mind.
02:46 The woman in our Bible story today
02:49 she did get over being angry, just wait
02:53 until you hear about what God did for her.
02:55 But first, Ranger Jim is going to tell
02:58 us about a really big animal and
03:00 I wouldn't wanna make
03:01 him angry, it's a bison.
03:11 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying,
03:13 welcome to Nature Time. We have
03:15 something very special today;
03:16 we have some beautiful bison for
03:18 you to see. These are running animals,
03:20 they may go running in front of
03:21 the camera, they maybe just
03:22 standing around, but running is something
03:24 that bison love to do. In fact bison
03:26 can run at 35 miles an hour and
03:29 they have been known to run 35 miles
03:31 an hour for up to 5 miles in a stampede.
03:34 And these creatures lived on the Prairie
03:37 and that was a common practice in those
03:39 days when they were frightened by lighting
03:41 or something else would happen and
03:43 you could feel the group shake when
03:45 millions, sometimes in one herd they
03:47 would be as much as 40, 50 thousand.
03:49 But when millions of these creatures
03:51 occupied the plains of the Western United
03:53 States all the way far as East as into Georgia
03:56 and so these are a wonderful creatures,
03:58 it's the first time we've had an
03:59 opportunity to be here. And so our friend
04:01 is John with us and so John owns these.
04:04 John, could you tell us anything about
04:05 theses creatures, do they eat hay?
04:07 What do they eat? I feed them hay
04:09 and I grain them too and they just
04:12 enjoy it out here, they're pretty free.
04:13 And you have pasture for them,
04:16 I see that you have here and how old
04:19 are these bison that you have?
04:21 These bison here are probably about
04:22 a year and half old. And they are
04:25 in size, how are they, are they half the
04:29 size that they will be as adults or? Yeah,
04:30 they are about half the size, I say the
04:32 biggest one's probably right now is
04:33 about 800 to 900 pounds. And so then
04:36 they will get to be much large than that
04:38 and we have bison boys and girls,
04:39 that have been recorded up as high as
04:41 2200 pounds, so you get some idea of
04:44 looking at these beautiful creatures
04:45 that John owns. These are juvenile we
04:48 would called and so they will get
04:50 much larger then that but when
04:53 they get to be as large as that
04:55 size John and I wouldn't be here
04:57 this afternoon right John? That's right,
04:59 because then when they're adults
05:00 they can be very dangerous and
05:04 I would like to just caution you that
05:05 maybe when you and your family,
05:07 if you go on a vacation, you're out in
05:08 Yellowstone National Park and you see
05:11 bison beside the road be very, very careful.
05:14 Because they can be dangerous creatures.
05:16 John was just telling us that he had
05:18 some when they got to be growing you didn't
05:19 get in the pasture with them right? No,
05:21 I didn't go in there anymore, I couldn't
05:23 trust them. You wouldn't trust them
05:24 and when they were young you could
05:26 pet them and do those kind of things
05:27 with them, when they get to be adults
05:29 you can't do that. So, boys and girls,
05:31 bison are a sad story in American history
05:34 as I said before there were millions,
05:36 it is estimated upwards of 80 million
05:39 of these creatures roam the United
05:40 States before we got here, when the
05:42 white settlers got here but then as
05:45 the rails moved across the nation then
05:48 it become even sport. John, many
05:50 of rich person, or a person that liked
05:53 to hunt would just take a trip out
05:55 to California. They would stop
05:56 passing a herd they would stand on
05:58 the top of the cars with high powered
06:00 rifles and just shoot them for fun.
06:02 And then people came in and would shoot
06:05 them as many as 300-400 hundred a day,
06:06 they skin them out and take the
06:09 tongue or whatever part they wanted
06:10 then load them aboard flat bed cars
06:14 and hall them away and that's a sad
06:16 thing isn't it, as you boys and girls
06:18 can see these beautiful creature just
06:19 imagine someone going out and
06:21 shooting them for fun. That is a tragic thing,
06:24 now when these are born are they
06:25 same color John when they're born or they?
06:27 No, they're lighter and they you know
06:30 they don't have, they're kind of fuzzy.
06:32 They're fuzzy and they're lighter brown,
06:35 right. Okay, so bison boys and girls are a
06:38 wonderful creature, they're not pets
06:40 that most people would have on their
06:41 farms for boys and girls.
06:43 John enjoys them, he raises them here,
06:46 he has children that they're educate
06:48 about that, the children would come
06:49 out and pet the bison without father.
06:51 So, we've talked about goats and
06:52 rabbits and things that you might have
06:54 as a pet, but a bison requires adult
06:57 supervision so once again the bison,
06:59 an interesting creature. So, boys and girls
07:02 don't forget to tell Jesus that you
07:03 love him because he really does love you.
07:15 Hello boys and girls. Hi there. Cindy,
07:18 what really makes you irritated? Uncle Buddy,
07:22 what really makes me irritated is when
07:25 I go to church potluck and all that's left
07:28 is a piece of bread and a grape.
07:30 That just doesn't fill me up,
07:32 that wouldn't feel me up either.
07:35 But you know years ago when Jesus
07:37 was on earth the same thing happened.
07:39 But Jesus took care of everything.
07:49 Five loaves and two fish
07:50 In the hands of the Lord Is a big, big dish
07:53 One little boy gave away his lunch
07:56 And Jesus fed five thousand lunch.
08:00 On hill side where Jesus was talking a little boy
08:03 with his lunch was walking.
08:05 Five loaves and two sardines,
08:07 just enough for that boy it seems.
08:11 Five loaves and two fish In the hands of the Lord
08:15 Is a big, big dish
08:16 One little boy gave away his lunch
08:18 And Jesus fed five thousand lunch.
08:22 Long before the Sun was down some
08:25 disciples came around. The boy gave
08:28 Jesus all he had and when
08:31 he did, he sure was glad.
08:34 Five loaves and two fish In the hands of the Lord
08:38 Is a big, big dish
08:39 One little boy gave away his lunch
08:42 And Jesus fed five thousand lunch.
08:47 Five loaves and two fish In the hands of the Lord
08:50 Is a big, big dish
08:52 One little boy gave away his lunch
08:54 And Jesus fed five thousand lunch.
08:57 One little boy gave away his lunch
08:59 And Jesus fed five thousand lunch.
09:04 Hey uncle Buddy want some gold fish. Cindy.
09:14 My Aunt Linda makes the best desserts,
09:16 not just desserts but healthy ones
09:18 but don't tell her. I'm gonna share
09:21 one of her recipes with you today,
09:23 we're making strawberry dessert.
09:25 Strawberries are my favorite,
09:27 here's their ingredients.
09:31 1 pkg, silken tofu
09:34 ½ cup frozen strawberries thawed
09:36 & drained (but you can use fresh)
09:38 ? cup pure maple syrup
09:42 ? tsp. salt 1 tsp. Vanilla
09:48 I'm gonna start with the tofu and
09:49 this is Mori-Nu tofu and this is our
09:53 family's favorite but you can't really,
09:56 there's other different kinds of
09:57 tofu but for this recipe I recommend
09:59 using this one, because it just won't
10:01 taste the same without the Mori-Nu.
10:03 Go ahead and put this in, okay, okay,
10:19 we've got maple syrup too, maple syrup in,
10:23 pure maple syrup and then the salt,
10:26 there's seasoning and the vanilla.
10:37 And we're gonna mix this up just until
10:38 the tofu gets all ground up and we need
10:41 the strawberries sliced. Looks good to me,
10:53 go ahead and put the strawberries
10:55 in and you don't wanna do the
10:56 strawberries too much because it'll
10:59 get seedy and you'll have real,
11:02 there will be lots of seeds and it
11:04 won't taste as good. Okay, now we go
11:20 ahead and mix this up, looks like it's
11:32 not getting all the sides, so lets just,
11:36 just a second, okay, we do it one
11:45 more time, okay. Okay, that looks better
11:57 and take our dessert dishes and pour
12:00 some of this into a dessert dish like this,
12:14 have you know my mom she always
12:15 likes to make things pretty, so you can
12:18 use a strawberry and this is her trick,
12:20 you can use a strawberry and if you
12:22 cut little slices like this, almost all the
12:28 way down to the edge of the strawberry,
12:33 on each one. Be careful not to cut
12:35 yourself though, like this. And then you
12:43 take it and gently oops it didn't get
12:46 down far enough, far enough, here we go.
12:51 If you don't get down far enough
12:53 then it won't turn, then when
12:56 you get it and twist it a little bit, like this,
13:01 so it looks like a fan and then set it
13:06 gently in the middle and it's pretty,
13:10 looks like, garnished. And there is also
13:13 another way you can serve this and
13:16 but I like to put granola on it too and
13:19 you can sprinkle it around it like this.
13:26 It's delicious with granola, but there
13:33 is also another way you can serve this.
13:35 You can take it and put it in your
13:38 favorite crust and freeze it, chill it,
13:43 and you wanna chill this too,
13:47 so that it'll be firm, firmer and good and
13:50 this has also got the strawberry on top
13:53 that we sliced and it looks really pretty
13:57 that way. Now, all you have to do is
14:01 cut it into pie wedges and if you really
14:03 wanna make it special then you can
14:06 put some non dairy whipped topping on it,
14:09 it be really good and eat it frozen,
14:11 tastes especially good on hot summer days.
14:15 Well, look at that, you've got two desserts
14:18 and they both taste delicious.
14:20 Well until next time, keep
14:23 cooking and eat healthy.
14:25 Welcome to Zarephath, I'm honor that
14:36 you've come to my home today,
14:37 you know it's not often that a widow
14:40 like me has a privilege of having
14:41 so much company. Your welcome to stay
14:44 for lunch if you'd like. I was just fixing
14:47 some cake for my son and I, we always
14:49 have enough to share with others.
14:51 And you know what when I tell you my
14:53 story you'll see why? About this time
14:57 last year my son and I were picking up
14:59 sticks by the gate of the city.
15:01 My heart was heavy for I knew that
15:04 this would be the last time my son and
15:06 I would be gathering sticks for our fire.
15:09 The famine had destroyed our garden
15:12 and we had very little to eat,
15:13 I became so sad, I knew I only had
15:18 enough flour and enough oil to make
15:20 a little cake for myself and my son,
15:23 then we would die for we had
15:26 nothing else to eat. You can see why
15:29 I was so sad, you know I'm not an
15:31 Israelite woman and I don't really know
15:34 a whole lot about their God, but I do
15:37 believe that their God is a very powerful
15:40 God and I worshiped him in my heart.
15:44 As I watched my son gathering the last
15:46 sticks I saw a stranger come
15:49 through the gate, he called to me
15:51 and he asked me to bring a little water
15:53 in a vessel and as I turned and
15:55 headed to go get him some water he asked
15:59 me if I'd also give him some bread to eat.
16:02 Now my heart really sank, I told him
16:05 I only had enough food for my son and,
16:07 and that I had to eat too and then we
16:12 would have nothing else. Now, in my mind
16:14 I was thinking how could I take the only
16:18 food I have for my son and give it
16:21 to this stranger, but you know what
16:23 it was if this man could read
16:25 my thoughts. For he said that if
16:28 I made a cake for him first that God
16:31 would always make sure there was
16:33 enough flour and enough oil for us.
16:36 Somehow I believe this stranger,
16:39 so I invited him into my home,
16:41 I build a fire and I prepared a cake
16:44 for him just as he'd ask and I used up
16:49 the very last of my flour and oil to
16:52 do this. And after he had eaten
16:54 I went back to where I had set the
16:56 empty pots and I trembled as
16:59 I looked inside the pot of flour and there
17:05 was flour in the pot, it wasn't empty
17:08 and you know what? I went over to
17:11 the oil and I looked inside the oil
17:14 and there was oil. Tears begin to stream
17:18 down my face, Israel's God cared about
17:22 my son and about me, I found out
17:25 that the stranger that came to my home
17:27 was the Prophet of God. His name
17:30 was Elijah; you know I invited Prophet
17:33 Elijah to stay in the loft of our home.
17:35 The famine was so bad, well you can
17:39 imagine how would be if your country
17:42 had not had rain for three years,
17:44 but you know even though the famine
17:47 was very bad. The God of Israel
17:50 faithfully kept the oil in our pots and
17:53 the flour in my flour pot and we never
17:57 went hungry. Just when everything was
18:00 seeming so wonderful something terrible
18:04 happened to me, my son became very sick,
18:09 I tried to do everything I could
18:11 for him. He was my only little boy,
18:14 but you know what? He just became
18:16 worse and worse and then I noticed
18:19 that he stopped breathing.
18:21 I held him against me and I cried, I cried,
18:25 first my husband died and now my son.
18:31 It was too much for me to bear,
18:33 I forgot how God had saved my little boy
18:36 from starving to death, I was so sad
18:39 and angry that my son was dead.
18:44 That I just couldn't think of anything else,
18:47 I went to the Prophet of God and I ask him,
18:50 why has God taken my son from me?
18:53 The Prophet looked into my face and he
18:57 looked so sad, he was sad because
19:01 I had doubted God's love for me.
19:03 He said give me your son, well I held
19:07 out my son to Prophet Elijah, he carried
19:10 my son up to the loft where he was staying.
19:12 You know I don't remember how long
19:15 I waited for Elijah to return and
19:18 I don't remember how long he was
19:19 up there. I was too sad to even think,
19:23 but before I knew it I heard Elijah's
19:26 voice and he said your son is alive,
19:30 I couldn't believe with my eyes,
19:32 there was my son. He was smiling at me
19:36 Elijah placed my son in my arms and
19:39 I held him and I cried for joy.
19:42 And I looked up at the Prophet and
19:44 I said through my tears, which were now
19:47 tears of joy, I know now that
19:51 you are a man of God and you speak
19:55 the truth about God. Now, when
19:58 things happen to me that make me sad,
20:01 I'm always reminded how God of
20:03 Israel has taken care of us in the past.
20:06 And I always find comfort in
20:08 knowing that the great God in
20:10 Heaven loves even me
20:13 a widow in Zarephath.
20:30 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
20:37 Hear my humble cry;
20:45 While on others Thou art calling,
20:53 Save me by Thy grace. Savior, Savior,
21:07 Hear my humble cry,
21:16 While on others Thou are calling,
21:23 Do not pass me by.
21:31 Trusting only in Thy merit,
21:38 Would I seek Thy face;
21:44 Come and heal my wounded, broken spirit,
21:52 Save me by Thy grace. Savior, Savior,
22:07 Hear my humble cry,
22:15 While on others Thou are calling,
22:23 Do not pass me by.
22:31 While on others Thou are calling,
22:37 Do not pass me by.
22:56 Thank you Lovell sisters for that
22:57 beautiful message and song.

25:29 And then look at how she's got a picture
25:33 of a house and she drew some
25:34 more pictures, you're quite the artist Mia.
25:36 Thank you for your letter and then
25:39 her card says, dear Miss Brenda,
25:41 I love Kids Time very much and I want to
25:45 be on Kids Time, love Mia. Well, Mia, if you
25:48 wanna be on Kids Time remember to send me
25:50 a video okay. Well, right now I have
25:53 some e-mails I also like to share with you.
25:56 And this one says dear Miss Brenda,
26:00 I tried to help people learn about Jesus
26:03 and be more like them, it isn't as easy
26:06 task though, one of my best friends
26:07 was kind of mean to me.
26:08 And she said a lot of bad words
26:11 but my teacher talked to her and now
26:13 I think she's sorry, but I need to know
26:16 how to witness to her, please pray for me,
26:19 love Britney. Well, just keep praying for
26:21 your friend that's the best thing you
26:23 can do for her. That's all the time we have
26:25 today boys and girls, I want to encourage
26:27 you to go out and smile at someone today,
26:29 tell them Jesus loves them
26:31 because it's Kids Time to share Jesus.
