I see you looking at 00:00:24.66\00:00:27.84 this bag and you probably wondering what 00:00:27.91\00:00:30.20 is in their? Well it's not someone's birthday, 00:00:30.25\00:00:34.59 it I just wanted you to start thinking about 00:00:35.40\00:00:37.80 gifts and presents and how happy they 00:00:37.91\00:00:40.13 make us. Did anyone ever give you a present 00:00:40.18\00:00:43.14 that you love more than anything else in 00:00:43.24\00:00:44.94 the world? Maybe it was a dog or a cat or 00:00:44.97\00:00:48.30 maybe even a parakeet. Perhaps it was 00:00:48.52\00:00:51.10 absolutely gorgeous dress or maybe it was 00:00:51.45\00:00:55.54 a cool side of football or baseball cards. 00:00:55.57\00:00:58.05 Whatever it was you know that you thought 00:00:58.56\00:01:01.28 you were just the luckiest boy or girl in 00:01:01.31\00:01:03.56 the whole world when you received it didn't 00:01:03.59\00:01:05.49 you? In today story you are going to hear 00:01:05.57\00:01:08.71 about a special young woman hardly more than 00:01:08.74\00:01:11.35 a girl who is given us very, very special gift. 00:01:11.38\00:01:14.63 And she loved this gift more than anything you 00:01:15.02\00:01:18.12 could ever imagine. And you never guess 00:01:18.15\00:01:20.90 what this gift was? It was something you couldn't 00:01:20.97\00:01:24.10 buy in a store and it wouldn't fit in a 00:01:24.16\00:01:26.55 beautiful bag like this. And this gift doesn't 00:01:26.73\00:01:30.12 grow in gardens, this gift was one that only 00:01:30.19\00:01:33.69 God could create, this marvelous present was, 00:01:33.72\00:01:37.32 have you guessed it yet? It was a baby, 00:01:37.59\00:01:40.74 a most special baby boy. And how this young 00:01:41.02\00:01:45.06 woman loved her son. You know, I bet she 00:01:45.23\00:01:49.83 loved to feel his warm chubby arms around 00:01:49.94\00:01:52.91 her neck and his childish voice when he began 00:01:52.96\00:01:56.96 forming his words and sentences. 00:01:57.20\00:01:59.23 And as he grew older, I'm sure she would 00:01:59.70\00:02:02.91 often marvel at his goodness. For he never 00:02:03.03\00:02:07.12 spoke an unkind word, not ever. 00:02:07.33\00:02:09.52 He never acted in a thoughtless way to hurt 00:02:09.94\00:02:12.96 to anyone else. But, this wonderful gift 00:02:12.99\00:02:16.73 the special child was not just for her. 00:02:17.13\00:02:20.93 Her baby boy was met to be shared. 00:02:21.62\00:02:24.16 Have you guessed who I'm talking about? 00:02:25.16\00:02:27.06 Yes, the name of the baby boy was Jesus 00:02:27.59\00:02:31.05 and the girl who received the present was 00:02:31.47\00:02:34.02 Mary his mother. And now he belongs to 00:02:34.11\00:02:37.11 everyone. He belongs to your parents and your 00:02:37.20\00:02:40.49 cousins and your classmates. He even 00:02:40.53\00:02:43.55 belongs to me, and don't forget boys and 00:02:43.69\00:02:46.85 girls he belongs to you too. Alright now 00:02:46.91\00:02:51.57 Ranger Jim is going to show us a wonderful 00:02:51.76\00:02:53.79 gift that Jesus gave all of us the 00:02:53.87\00:02:56.11 beautiful and graceful Swan. 00:02:56.19\00:02:58.98 Hi boys and girls Ranger Jim saying 00:03:06.65\00:03:08.28 welcome to Nature Time. We are glad you 00:03:08.38\00:03:09.94 can join us today, we are taping some 00:03:09.97\00:03:12.22 beautiful swans that you see in the background 00:03:12.30\00:03:14.41 here they are mute swans. And as the name 00:03:14.46\00:03:16.91 implies they are mute, they do not call 00:03:16.97\00:03:19.46 back and forth. Do make some sounds 00:03:19.55\00:03:21.89 when they are feeding like we are hearing 00:03:21.92\00:03:23.18 in the background here, I can here them 00:03:23.21\00:03:24.61 making sort of a garbling sound. 00:03:24.66\00:03:26.21 They talk amongst themselves, but not like 00:03:26.24\00:03:28.73 the trumpeter swans and other swans. 00:03:28.76\00:03:30.61 The trumpeter swans especially when they 00:03:30.77\00:03:32.39 are migrating them up in the air flying at 00:03:32.42\00:03:35.33 2500 feet sometimes you may here them 00:03:35.38\00:03:37.76 for three quarters of a mile. And when 00:03:37.80\00:03:39.73 they fly migrating the mute and trumpeters 00:03:39.78\00:03:42.05 another swan of this characteristic of them 00:03:42.08\00:03:43.83 when they are flying there necks are 00:03:43.91\00:03:45.51 straight out in front of them, 00:03:45.58\00:03:46.65 and their feet are carried behind them. 00:03:46.72\00:03:48.38 And they are beautiful site to be hold 00:03:48.55\00:03:50.36 against the blue sky. The mute swans even 00:03:50.41\00:03:53.80 though they are beautiful to have around, 00:03:53.83\00:03:55.85 they are not compatible to with other ducks 00:03:56.38\00:04:00.05 and geese of that kind because of their 00:04:00.11\00:04:01.82 aggressiveness and the defending of their 00:04:01.96\00:04:04.39 territory. When the old cob and the pen 00:04:04.64\00:04:07.99 builds the nest there, male was called the 00:04:08.04\00:04:09.70 cob and the female was called the pen. 00:04:09.76\00:04:11.92 Well they select the nest site, 00:04:12.32\00:04:13.73 they will defend that. The old cob spends 00:04:14.11\00:04:16.60 his entire day flying back and forth defending 00:04:16.69\00:04:19.16 it. He will even attack a sparrow if it comes 00:04:19.19\00:04:21.38 near. And so that means they have 00:04:21.41\00:04:24.03 become a problem in parks and the lakes 00:04:24.06\00:04:26.78 around the part of the country and they do 00:04:26.83\00:04:29.84 not allow other ducks to come their and so 00:04:29.90\00:04:31.87 because of that they are causing a problem. 00:04:31.91\00:04:34.48 Now on this lake we have ducks as you can 00:04:34.94\00:04:37.46 see in the background perhaps and we 00:04:37.52\00:04:38.87 have some Canadian geese is flying by here 00:04:38.95\00:04:42.88 in the background, but if these pair were 00:04:42.91\00:04:45.94 on a nest that would not be true. 00:04:45.98\00:04:47.83 Now unfortunately the mute swan they 00:04:48.27\00:04:53.29 made for life if that usually after the fourth 00:04:53.33\00:04:55.53 year. And if they mate they will mate for life. 00:04:55.57\00:04:58.46 They are true to that if one of the swans die 00:04:58.59\00:05:01.13 or killed by accident they will sometimes 00:05:01.16\00:05:03.64 choose another mate. But, they are beautiful 00:05:03.67\00:05:06.47 site to see swimming across the lake. 00:05:06.56\00:05:08.33 And so swans like geese you can tell old 00:05:08.76\00:05:11.90 geese from young geese because young 00:05:11.93\00:05:14.76 geese when they have a family they go 00:05:14.82\00:05:16.25 swimming across the lake. There will be the 00:05:16.28\00:05:18.31 pen out in front and he will come to signal 00:05:18.34\00:05:20.45 swimming along the little feet going in the 00:05:20.54\00:05:22.82 water and the old cob swimming in the back 00:05:22.85\00:05:25.45 and they are calling look at our beautiful 00:05:25.48\00:05:27.52 family they are so proud going along, 00:05:27.55\00:05:29.36 swimming along like that, but there are 00:05:29.39\00:05:31.79 dangerous down below. Snapping turtles 00:05:31.82\00:05:34.49 live in ponds and they love baby swans. 00:05:34.63\00:05:38.01 And so young swans will swim across the 00:05:38.38\00:05:41.40 lake like that but not mature ones they 00:05:41.43\00:05:43.76 soon learn that they lose their babies. 00:05:43.87\00:05:46.13 And so, why swans you will see them 00:05:46.69\00:05:50.32 swimming across the lake that old daddy is 00:05:50.75\00:05:53.23 forking around watching and in a pond like this 00:05:53.30\00:05:56.33 they have fish and catfish and things of that 00:05:56.40\00:05:58.43 nature, that old cob would be going crazy, 00:05:58.46\00:06:01.11 he would swing over attacking every fish that 00:06:01.14\00:06:03.17 he sees for fear of loosing. So, the mute 00:06:03.23\00:06:08.64 swan is a protector of his own home perhaps 00:06:08.81\00:06:13.26 more then any of the fallow that we have. 00:06:13.38\00:06:15.48 And sometimes they attain a weight of 25-30 00:06:15.79\00:06:18.62 pounds and so if we have that we know 00:06:18.66\00:06:20.85 they can speed up to 45 miles an hour, 00:06:20.94\00:06:24.64 and so if the old cob come swimming across 00:06:24.90\00:06:26.78 the lake at you, you don't want to be in his 00:06:26.84\00:06:29.06 pathway. And so these creatures are able to 00:06:29.09\00:06:32.55 feel the bottom without tipping up as some 00:06:32.67\00:06:34.54 ducks do. They have more vertebrae in their 00:06:34.59\00:06:36.89 neck then any of the fallow most any of the 00:06:36.92\00:06:40.09 mammals for that matter they have 28 00:06:40.17\00:06:42.04 vertebrae that allows them to stick their 00:06:42.07\00:06:43.92 head into the water nd then bend their 00:06:44.00\00:06:45.79 necks and feet along the bottom. 00:06:45.89\00:06:47.75 And that's very, very unusual to give you 00:06:48.44\00:06:50.34 some idea of that. Most the mammals 00:06:50.37\00:06:53.40 wouldn't even have more than eight vertebrae 00:06:53.49\00:06:55.81 in their neck. So, the swan, this mute swan 00:06:55.92\00:06:58.28 is a very unusual creature. Fortunately that 00:06:58.43\00:07:01.88 most of their babies do survive. I would say 00:07:01.92\00:07:04.28 that maybe 85% on the average of the 00:07:04.31\00:07:07.51 swans survive because they are very hardy 00:07:07.76\00:07:10.39 bird and their parents are so protective of 00:07:10.42\00:07:14.00 them. The greatest enemy that they have is 00:07:14.03\00:07:16.56 from under the water that is snapping turtles. 00:07:16.61\00:07:19.11 And so from the attack from the air you 00:07:19.39\00:07:23.68 don't want to encounter an angry old cob 00:07:23.79\00:07:26.70 when it comes to defending his children 00:07:27.19\00:07:28.98 so we. I have learned about these creatures 00:07:29.01\00:07:32.47 today and as you see one in your park you 00:07:32.53\00:07:35.53 go up and admire, but be very careful. 00:07:35.60\00:07:37.58 But, don't go off to pet it because they can 00:07:37.98\00:07:40.01 be dangerous if you go to some ones home 00:07:40.05\00:07:41.88 like we are visiting today they tell us that 00:07:41.95\00:07:44.03 these swans are friendly they will come up, 00:07:44.13\00:07:47.33 they can feed them, they will come out even 00:07:47.41\00:07:49.31 on the shore if we would like, we didn't do 00:07:49.34\00:07:51.12 that because it can be dangerous with young 00:07:51.18\00:07:53.15 swans to feed young swans to come out 00:07:53.23\00:07:55.66 on the ground because they are very heavy 00:07:55.69\00:07:57.87 birds and it can cause deformities in their legs 00:07:57.90\00:08:00.86 trying to support that weight. 00:08:00.89\00:08:02.11 So, it is necessary that they spend most of 00:08:02.34\00:08:04.14 their time on the water and so I hope that 00:08:04.19\00:08:06.55 you have enjoyed today learning about the 00:08:06.58\00:08:09.00 mute swan and we have enjoyed so much to 00:08:09.05\00:08:11.69 be here learn about it. So as always boys 00:08:11.72\00:08:14.16 and girls Ranger Jim saying don't forget to 00:08:14.19\00:08:16.47 tell Jesus that you love him 00:08:16.60\00:08:17.90 because he really does love you. 00:08:18.05\00:08:21.07 Hello there boys and girls, 00:08:32.65\00:08:33.80 hi boys and girls, hi boys and girls. 00:08:34.02\00:08:35.80 Brittany what are you and 00:08:36.42\00:08:39.02 Andrew doing with this? 00:08:39.12\00:08:41.02 We are gonna plant it so we 00:08:41.35\00:08:42.34 can have fruit and eat it. 00:08:42.51\00:08:44.23 So, okay now we are leaving for Michigan 00:08:45.72\00:08:48.09 pretty soon do you know that it takes 00:08:48.19\00:08:49.76 years to get fruit from a fruit tree? 00:08:49.87\00:08:51.97 Yeah, but we have faith. 00:08:52.95\00:08:54.75 And so you gonna have some tonight? 00:08:55.82\00:08:57.57 Yeah. In fact 00:13:21.87\00:13:25.30 I remember him as a tiny baby in my arms. 00:13:25.49\00:13:28.95 And how soft and sweet he was. 00:13:29.50\00:13:31.85 I loved him, he was a real little baby just 00:13:32.32\00:13:36.11 like you were. And he needed a mom to 00:13:36.15\00:13:38.97 take care of him. And God gave him a mother, 00:13:39.00\00:13:42.05 he gave him me. And I watched him grow he 00:13:42.66\00:13:46.85 love to play with the other children. 00:13:46.89\00:13:48.86 He was always happy, he loved the little 00:13:49.36\00:13:52.01 birds and he laugh at the squirrels. 00:13:52.04\00:13:54.35 And he love chasing the little cats and 00:13:54.81\00:13:57.17 the dogs. I always thought that my son 00:13:57.20\00:14:01.12 was special because the angel had told 00:14:01.66\00:14:04.05 me so. But, in so many ways he look so 00:14:04.08\00:14:07.29 real just like you and me. He was just 00:14:07.40\00:14:09.87 a boy like the other boys. It wasn't until 00:14:10.35\00:14:15.06 he started growing a little older that I 00:14:15.14\00:14:17.67 began to see big differences in him. 00:14:17.74\00:14:20.00 I remember one time when he was 00:14:20.77\00:14:22.48 12 years old and we were at the temple 00:14:22.51\00:14:25.26 in Jerusalem. And as we left we were 00:14:25.30\00:14:28.52 certain that he was among the group 00:14:28.63\00:14:30.38 that was with us. But, it wasn't long 00:14:30.49\00:14:33.12 before we discovered Jesus wasn't around. 00:14:33.15\00:14:36.04 And Joseph and I hurried back to Jerusalem 00:14:36.73\00:14:39.16 looking for him. You can imagine how 00:14:39.19\00:14:41.72 anxious we were. And when we found him 00:14:41.81\00:14:44.74 I said Jesus where were you. 00:14:45.22\00:14:47.47 We were looking all over for you. 00:14:47.72\00:14:49.84 And he said mother, don't you know 00:14:51.01\00:14:54.35 that I must be about my fathers business. 00:14:54.67\00:14:57.35 I was reminded again that the angel had 00:14:58.40\00:15:01.29 told me this was the son of God. 00:15:01.42\00:15:03.69 The promise Messiah he had a work to do. 00:15:04.03\00:15:07.05 He grew just like a normal boy did, 00:15:08.38\00:15:10.89 tall and handsome. And he was strong, 00:15:11.53\00:15:14.62 I remember how he helped his father in 00:15:15.49\00:15:17.21 the carpentry shop. And how the people 00:15:17.26\00:15:19.57 would stop by and he would always have an 00:15:19.61\00:15:21.90 encouraging word. I used to love to hear 00:15:21.93\00:15:25.01 him sing too as he worked. He seem to 00:15:25.07\00:15:27.71 have a joy in his heart that only God could 00:15:27.81\00:15:30.68 put their. He was kind to all people, 00:15:30.78\00:15:34.73 he love those that were the least. 00:15:35.83\00:15:37.80 In fact one time, when others came and 00:15:38.59\00:15:41.74 said your mother and brothers are looking 00:15:41.79\00:15:43.49 for you. He said my mother and brothers 00:15:43.60\00:15:47.15 are these, all these who do the will of my 00:15:47.18\00:15:50.31 father who sent me. All of these things 00:15:50.34\00:15:53.93 children were reminder to me. 00:15:53.96\00:15:56.09 That he was my Savior too. He was Jesus, 00:15:57.16\00:16:01.05 who had come to save our world. 00:16:01.31\00:16:03.10 I remember as I saw him taken way prisoner 00:16:03.96\00:16:07.03 by the soldiers and the disciples all 00:16:07.31\00:16:09.43 abandoned him. And he hung on that 00:16:09.52\00:16:12.31 cross so alone, and yet he remembered 00:16:12.41\00:16:14.90 me and he said John here is your mother 00:16:14.93\00:16:17.54 and mother here is your son, he took care 00:16:18.56\00:16:21.85 of me to the end, but he reminded me 00:16:21.88\00:16:24.65 that he was my Savior. I know that the 00:16:25.01\00:16:29.60 most important thing that you and I must 00:16:29.71\00:16:31.65 realize is that we each have a part to 00:16:31.82\00:16:34.77 spread the good news about God's love 00:16:34.82\00:16:36.87 to the world just as I being Jesus mother 00:16:36.92\00:16:39.78 had a part. But, we all need to remember 00:16:39.81\00:16:42.48 that we are his children that he died 00:16:42.51\00:16:44.74 for each one of us. And now children I 00:16:44.81\00:16:47.62 look forward to seeing Jesus face to face. 00:16:47.65\00:16:50.36 Not only remembering that I was his mother, 00:16:50.66\00:16:52.91 but more importantly that he is my Savior. 00:16:53.06\00:16:56.22 Remember that lesson, Jesus came to 00:16:57.05\00:16:59.70 save us all, he loves you and me most of all. 00:16:59.78\00:17:03.68 O how He loves you and me 00:17:27.10\00:17:33.47 O how He loves you and me 00:17:34.18\00:17:40.26 He gave His life, what more could He give? 00:17:40.99\00:17:47.64 O how He loves you O how He loves me 00:17:48.56\00:17:55.27 O how He loves you and me 00:17:55.89\00:18:01.91 O how He loves you and me 00:18:04.03\00:18:09.37 O how He loves you and me 00:18:10.82\00:18:15.50 He gave His life, what more could He give? 00:18:17.10\00:18:23.83 O how He loves you O how He loves me 00:18:24.80\00:18:31.58 O how He loves you and me 00:18:32.04\00:18:38.02 Oh thank you Yasmine for that beautiful 00:18:50.74\00:18:52.46 song, I just love hearing you praise Jesus. 00:18:52.51\00:18:55.52 Well boys and girls I want to take 00:18:56.19\00:18:57.63 you right now to Russia.
