00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 looking for a friend like Jesus, it's time to share
00:11 there's a world out there. Let's tell them that
00:14 He loves us so. Let's tell them that He
00:18 loves us so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time.
00:25 Hello, boys and girls, isn't this beautiful
00:27 feather, so pretty and pink. Have you heard
00:30 that expression light as the feather?
00:32 Well, you know, what that expression comes
00:34 because this is so light that I want you to watch
00:36 as I drop it up here and look and watch it
00:39 just fairly floats down to the floor here.
00:43 And there is something else you can do with
00:45 the feather. If I was to take this feather and
00:47 I just gently tickle my face like this,
00:52 it makes me giggle, you know why because
00:54 it tickles. And this feather it came from one
00:57 of many beautiful birds that Jesus has made.
01:01 Do you know no matter where you live,
01:03 you can see beautiful birds of many different
01:05 colors and descriptions, and you can
01:08 listen to their songs, and maybe you can
01:10 even learn to recognize them by the songs
01:12 they sing or the sounds they make.
01:15 Do you know many birds have pink feathers
01:17 scattered among many of their other
01:18 feathers of different colors, but today
01:21 I want to talk to you about a large bird
01:23 with long legs that is pink almost all over,
01:27 and the only part of this bird that isn't pink
01:30 are its eyes and its beak. Did you know even
01:33 his long skinny legs and its big webfeet are
01:36 pink. Do you know what I am talking about?
01:39 Yes you do, it's the Flamingo. And did you
01:42 know that the Flamingo gets its color
01:44 from the food that it eats, that's right,
01:47 it does. The Flamingo eats a lot of shrimp
01:50 or other shrimp like creatures, and there
01:52 is a lot of keratin in shrimp, and the keratin
01:54 in its diet turns its feathers pink.
01:57 Now if its diet is low in keratin then the
02:00 feathers turn pale pink or even white.
02:03 Now this is a dramatic example of the
02:06 effect diet has on the body. In fact if you
02:10 were to drink lots and lots of carrot juice,
02:13 which is really high in keratin, your skin
02:16 would start to look a little bit orange.
02:19 Most of the time however it is the inside
02:22 sides of our body that are most affected by
02:24 what we eat. God wanted Flamingos to eat
02:27 shrimp and turn that beautiful pink color so
02:30 that we can enjoy them, but he wants
02:32 us to eat a balance of helpful foods to
02:34 keep our insides just as beautiful for him.
02:38 You know someone once said you are what
02:41 you eat, and as far as the health of our body
02:43 is concerned, this is true. Now Ranger Jim
02:47 is going to show you some beautiful Flamingos.
02:50 Watch and see. They are absolutely gorgeous.
03:01 Hi boys and girls, Ranger Jim here saying
03:02 welcome to Nature Time. We are glad you
03:04 can join us. We are at home of State Park
03:06 again here in Florida, and we are glad
03:08 that you can be with us. I have my friend
03:10 Kin here who is a ranger in the park.
03:13 And Kin tell us something about these
03:14 beautiful birds that we have, isn't just a
03:16 beautiful bird. It's a gorgeous bird.
03:18 This bird you can find them all around in
03:19 the Caribbean; is a Caribbean Flamingo.
03:22 It is a magnificent bird, who is doing some
03:25 dance for you there you see, beautiful.
03:27 The pink color comes, they eat a shrimp
03:29 in the wild, and they eat on shrimps and
03:31 algae so with this chain. So the shrimp eats
03:38 the algae. And the Flamingo eats the shrimp,
03:41 okay good. So that's why they get a pink
03:42 color, but in captivity we can't provide the
03:45 shrimps or the algae, right, right,
03:47 to keep that food chain, so we got this
03:49 supplement. This is like a powder that we
03:51 put in water. What does it contain?
03:54 It got all alfalfa hay, you got crab, shrimp,
03:59 fish meat, high in vitamins, protein but it's
04:01 really high in beta carotene that will help
04:03 them keep the pink color. So it's the beta
04:05 carotene that causes the color.
04:06 That causes the color, isn't that wonderful,
04:08 I always wonder. We are doing this,
04:09 its like doing, put some water,
04:12 some powder, and make it brownies.
04:13 You probably went to, you went to college
04:14 for four years to learn to do that right.
04:15 Oh yeah, oh yeah, they show how to do
04:17 it. Any boy and girl watching would love
04:18 to do that, making mud pies to feed the
04:20 Flamingos, isn't that something.
04:22 Alright, wants to mix, mix it good, and you've
04:25 got Flamingo food ready to go.
04:26 That's how they do that, yeah.
04:28 Now tell us about the beak. Okay,
04:31 you see this guy eating, the Flamingos goes
04:33 on the plate and just like scattered on the
04:36 top of the water and while they would
04:37 get some plantain too, that's almost like
04:40 filter the water, you get the water with the
04:42 plantain in it, filter the water, and then
04:45 swallow all the plantain. So in his mouth
04:47 and he has a filter, he swishes it back and
04:49 forth, back and forth. Then picks up the
04:50 things and he swish it all up, alright.
04:53 Who would ever believe that could have
04:55 happened boys and girls. Someone would
04:57 tell you that they took millions of years
04:59 to do, don't you ever believe it.
05:01 Our wonderful heavenly Father made it
05:03 that way. Kin go ahead, their beak look
05:04 like it's almost broken, that's natural, right.
05:06 That's natural. That is natural, that's the
05:08 way they do that, right. Now tell me,
05:10 I see some of them have bands on their
05:11 legs. Okay, every captive birds like in this
05:15 park, they are regulated by Feature Wildlife
05:18 and USDA, so they need a band, that's band
05:21 is like their names, so blue 36 we got to
05:24 have a record of that animal how old he is,
05:27 how much he grows, how much he
05:28 weights, so whenever they come in and
05:30 see the animal they are healthy, you know
05:32 you can track the animal life and
05:33 captivity. So that's like their names blue 36
05:37 is that Flamingo. And so that way they
05:39 keep track on these animals when they
05:41 come in here, you identify them because
05:44 that is true, you look out, you can never
05:45 identify them all could you without the names.
05:48 They look alike to me though. They look
05:49 alike same to us, but you have the band on,
05:51 so you know and that's true boys and
05:53 girls you may have seen cattle out in the
05:55 field that may have a ear tag,
05:56 that looks so uncomfortable to me,
05:58 but that's the farmer's way of keep track of.
06:00 Tell me we have some smaller birds here Kin,
06:02 what are these birds with the flesh colored
06:03 bills. Oh this is all the freeloaders we have
06:06 in the park, they are the white ibis.
06:08 Oh, I see they are white ibis, now are there
06:10 other colored ibises. We got the glossy ibis
06:13 and the red ibis. I see so these are just the
06:15 white that we have. This is just the white ibis,
06:17 they come here to try to get all the free
06:19 food they can. I see so they are just out
06:22 here looking for something free to eat, yeah,
06:24 okay. How may Flamingos do you have in the
06:27 park. We've got more the fifty. More than
06:29 fifty. Now are these, is an effort ever made
06:33 to release them to the wild. No they are
06:35 captive in the park. Something has happened
06:38 to them and so they are left here.
06:40 No usually the Flamingo someone that they
06:42 are fully flighted, but when they are in wild
06:45 they need like half a mile to take off,
06:47 and they don't have the space, that's why
06:48 we can keep them in the park, safe without
06:50 they going away. So they will not fly,
06:52 they need how much, like half a mile.
06:54 A half a mile to take off, that's a big
06:56 landing strip, more or less, yeah. Okay, we will
06:58 see even if it's a quarter of a mile that's
07:00 a long way isn't it. Now unlike some birds
07:02 we see the brown pelicans when they start
07:04 to take off they use their feet as straight
07:07 beating their wings and their feet
07:08 synchronize them, and that's the way
07:10 they get their lift to take off. That's right
07:11 same thing as in Flamingo. I never knew that
07:13 about the Flamingo, so you can keep the
07:15 Flamingo here without having a high cage,
07:17 that's right. And so boys and girls aren't
07:19 they are beautiful creature. I think they
07:20 are the one of the most beautiful of all the
07:22 birds, and as our friend Kin told us the lighter
07:25 colors, the lighter shades you see are
07:27 juveniles, then when they get to be older when
07:29 they come into their mating plumage that
07:31 is when it gets to be the flame colored,
07:33 just absolutely gorgeous. So I hope that
07:36 you have enjoyed the show as much as I have.
07:38 I have enjoyed so much, Kin's being here with
07:40 us, and he has been so helpful in the park,
07:42 and he is so knowledgeable about so many
07:45 of these creatures. So boys and girls with
07:47 this bird like all creatures that we talk about,
07:50 you remember that our God made it,
07:51 and he provides for it, so as always Ranger Jim
07:54 here saying don't forget to tell Jesus that you
07:57 love him because he really does love you.
08:23 He has shown you, oh man, what is good
08:32 And what the Lord requires of thee:
08:40 But to do justly, and to love mercy,
08:48 And to walk humbly with thy God.
09:00 He has shown you, oh man, what is good
09:09 And what the Lord requires of thee:
09:17 But to do justly, and to love mercy,
09:25 And to walk humbly with thy God.
09:33 But to do justly, and to love mercy,
09:42 And to walk humbly with thy God.
10:19 I don't hear anything Crystal do you,
10:23 Andre do you. I don't hear a thing Brittany.
10:27 I don't hear a thing Brittany. Brittany what
10:31 are you guys doing. Ira says that rocks are
10:33 gonna cry out. Well the Bible says if thee
10:36 should hold their peace the rocks will cry out,
10:38 but I know you are not gonna let the rocks
10:41 or the valleys or the mountains praise the Lord.
10:49 Ain't gonna let the mountains praise the Lord
10:53 Ain't gonna let the mountains praise the Lord
10:57 I'll shout it from the hills
10:59 Ye mountains all stand still
11:00 And I ain't gonna let the mountains praise the lord
11:05 My hands were made to serve him
11:07 My heart was made to love him
11:09 My heart was made to love him
11:10 My voice was made to lift and raise
11:11 And praise the lord
11:14 Ain't gonna let the valleys sing for me
11:18 Ain't gonna let the valleys sing for me
11:22 I'll lift my voice and sing
11:24 Hosannas to the King
11:26 And I ain't gonna let the valleys sing for me
11:32 Ain't gonna let the rocks cry out for me, no way,
11:36 Ain't gonna let the rocks cry out for me, no way
11:40 I'll lift my voice and shout
11:42 So the rocks will not cry out
11:43 And I ain't gonna let the rocks cry out for me
11:48 My hands were made to serve him
11:50 My heart was made to love him
11:52 My voice was made to lift and raise
11:54 And praise the lord
11:56 My hands were made to serve him
11:58 My heart was made to love him
12:00 My voice was made to lift and raise
12:02 And praise the lord
12:11 You know Brittany, I don't hear anything either.
14:40 Hello my name is Timothy. I just received
14:43 a letter from my good friend Paul.
14:47 I've known Paul for quiet sometime now.
14:49 The first time I saw him was on his first
14:51 missionary trip to my hometown of Lystra.
14:53 Lystra was not a very large town, my mother,
14:57 she is a Jew and my father is Greek.
15:00 My grandmother lived with us as well,
15:02 and she is a Jew too. My mother and grandmother
15:05 often told me stories about God's people.
15:08 Some of my favorites were about Samuel,
15:10 David, and Daniel, great stories. They also
15:14 told me how God's people look for messiah.
15:17 The messiah was supposed to come and
15:19 deliver God's people from captivity.
15:21 One day Paul and his traveling companion
15:24 Barnabas came to Lystra. They started
15:27 telling the people that a man by the
15:29 name of Jesus had come from heaven as
15:31 the messiah. Paul told us how this Jesus
15:35 fulfilled all the prophecies written about
15:37 the messiah by prophets long ago.
15:40 I was very excited about this.
15:43 My mother and grandmother often told
15:44 me about the prophecies concerning the
15:46 messiah. They explained to me that a
15:48 prophecy is something that is recorded
15:51 about the future. So when it comes to
15:53 past, we will know it is from God because
15:57 only God knows the future. Paul and
16:01 Barnabas stayed at our house whenever they
16:03 were on that first missionary trip.
16:05 They explained in detail how Jesus came
16:08 to this earth and died on a cross and
16:11 resurrected three days later. By doing this
16:15 Jesus died in our place as a sinner,
16:18 so we can live forever. Now that is amazing
16:22 love. Paul told us many wonderful stories
16:25 about Jesus, and his ministry on this earth.
16:28 Jesus didn't come as a deliver from the
16:30 physical captivity, but he came to free us
16:33 from our sins and to give us peace not war.
16:37 Paul shared with us that Jesus told his
16:39 disciples to go into all the world teaching
16:42 the people about Jesus and the Ten Commandments.
16:45 I was only a small boy then, but I knew
16:48 that I wanted to work for Jesus.
16:50 From then on, I started studying the scripture
16:53 more and telling others about the wonderful
16:55 news of Jesus. It was a few years later
16:59 when Paul came through Lystra again,
17:02 I wasn't a little boy anymore, but I was
17:04 still young. I wanted to follow Paul and
17:08 be a missionary telling others about the
17:10 great news of Jesus. Paul sat down and
17:13 talked with my mother and grandmother
17:15 about my desires. They both agreed,
17:18 I was ready to go. After much praying,
17:21 I realized that sharing Jesus fulltime is
17:24 what God wanted me to do and so it
17:26 was I started my lifelong journey from
17:29 Lystra ministering to others about Jesus,
17:32 the son of God. Over the next few years
17:36 Paul, I and others went from town to town
17:40 healing the sick, telling people about the
17:42 wonderful news of Jesus and bringing peace
17:44 to those without it. After traveling with Paul
17:48 for sometime he decided that it was
17:50 time to send me and another disciple on our
17:53 own. We had been to many, many cities,
17:57 and there were lot of churches. We heard
17:59 how some of these churches had fallen from
18:01 doing what is right. Well it was our job to
18:05 go to these cities, strengthening the
18:07 believers in the truth once again.
18:10 I remember coming here to Ephesus with
18:13 Paul and the others. Ephesus is a large city
18:17 filled with idolatry and much wickedness.
18:21 It was here I had most of my challenges
18:24 because of the size and the conditions of
18:26 the city, Paul stayed here longer than in
18:29 any other city. But as always the
18:33 nonbelievers became angry with Paul.
18:36 So many people were turning from the idol
18:38 worship. It was hurting business here in Ephesus.
18:42 The idol worshippers started plotting Paul's
18:44 death. We had to do something,
18:47 so the believers all encouraged Paul to
18:49 leave for his own safety. The church in
18:53 Ephesus was like a new plant in the wind.
18:58 It had a good start, but with too much
19:02 wind it will break. Paul called all the believers
19:06 together to decide who would stay behind
19:09 and minister to the growth of this young
19:11 church. After some discussion and prayer
19:15 they chose me, so it was, I became one
19:18 of the first ordained pastors for Christ.
19:22 I was so excited but I had the sense of
19:26 sadness too. I had traveled many places
19:29 with Paul. He become like a father to me.
19:33 Now we must separate. Maybe this is similar
19:37 to what Jesus felt on the cross when he
19:40 was separated from his Father in heaven.
19:44 I often think of Paul and our journeys,
19:47 our trials, and happy times together.
19:51 It is so nice to receive such an inspiring
19:54 letter from him, from my friend Paul.
19:59 Being a pastor at such a young age,
20:02 I had so many things to learn yet,
20:04 I even felt somewhat intimated because
20:06 of my youth. That caused me not to
20:09 standup for issues I should have,
20:12 but Paul like a good Father wrote me,
20:15 encouraging me, telling me not to let the
20:18 people look down on me just because
20:20 I am young. One of the most important
20:23 things that I have learned from Paul is how
20:26 to love Jesus. No matter how young,
20:30 how old or what disability a person may have,
20:34 they can share that love with
20:35 others and you can do that too.
20:58 All night, all day Angels watchin' over me, my lord
21:07 All night, all day Angels watchin' over me
21:16 Sweet Lord, Sweet Savior,
21:20 I want you to carry me, O Lord,
21:24 Sweet Lord, Sweet Savior
21:29 Angels watchin' over me, my lord
21:36 Sweet Lord, Sweet Savior
21:39 Angels watchin' over me, my lord
21:42 Sweet Lord, Sweet Savior,
21:47 I want you to carry me, O Lord,
22:01 I want to thank Bailey, Guthrie,
22:03 and Wagner Family for that beautiful song.
22:05 You know they live in North Carolina and
22:07 drove a long way to be here. And I just
22:08 want to thank you so much. Well today I'd like
22:11 to introduce you to Allen Powell.
22:13 Hi Allen, hi. Thank you for being here today.
22:17 Now you have a prayer ministry, what is the
22:19 prayer ministry? I pray for everything.
22:23 You pray for everything, yes. Like what
22:25 would you pray for? Whenever I hear like
22:27 a siren I start to pray. Now wait a minute,
22:30 a siren like? A police siren and ambulance siren,
22:34 a fire siren. Anytime if you hear siren you know
22:37 somebody is in need, right. Yes. And you start
22:40 to pray for them. Now what kind of things
22:41 would you pray? For their healing and that
22:45 they will be saved in God's kingdom.
22:49 Oh that's a wonderful thing to pray for,
22:52 isn't it boys and girls, that's wonderful.
22:55 So now what about if you happened to see
22:57 the news at night. If there is something like
23:00 somebody got in trouble or something like
23:02 that I pray too. So if you see some bad happen
23:05 on the news you pray for them, so you are
23:07 a wonderful prayer warrior. You brought a
23:09 picture did you, can I see the picture.
23:12 You are gonna hold that up, and that's a
23:14 picture, and there is an ambulance in that
23:16 picture, so every time you see an ambulance,
23:18 you see an opportunity to pray, right. Yes.
23:21 Oh that's wonderful. Well would you do me
23:23 a favor Allen? Would you pray for Kids Time,
23:27 yes. And then ask Jesus to just touch so
23:30 many hearts and bring them closer to Jesus
23:32 from watching Kids Time, would you be a
23:34 prayer warrior for me, yes. Thank you,
23:37 well you know I have some letters boys and
23:39 girls I like to read to. This letter is from
23:41 Jamaica, and I am gonna let you hold up
23:43 this envelope because I want the boys and
23:44 girls to see that beautiful stamp on that.
23:47 And this letters says dear Brenda, my name is
23:51 a Brian Russell and I am eleven years old,
23:54 I love to watch your Kids Time shows,
23:56 they are great. I would like to send you,
23:59 I would like you to send me a Kids Time
24:00 activity book, and down at the bottom of
24:02 this page there is a picture of you,
24:04 your friend Brian, and I am gonna show
24:06 you that picture, isn't that cute because
24:08 it look just like me, you see that boys
24:10 and girls, isn't that cute. You are quite the
24:14 artist, thank you so much for that letter.
24:16 Then I have another letter right here,
24:19 and I am gonna ask if you would help me
24:20 hold this picture, oh she is cute.
24:23 Let's see this picture, this is from Brittany,
24:26 and it says dear Miss Brenda, my daughter
24:28 Brittany is now a favorite fan of your program
24:31 Kids Time. Brittany is three years old and
24:35 we live in a beautiful island of Jamaica.
24:38 We enjoy watching Kids Time together,
24:40 and just love the songs, the stories and
24:42 especially Ranger Jim. I really appreciate this
24:45 program, and God bless you for doing it.
24:47 We look forward to hearing from you and
24:49 recieving an activity book, your friend
24:52 Brittany, and I am her mom writing this for
24:54 her. Well thank you Brittany, and I will
24:55 send you a book, okay. Now there is
24:58 another letter here and let's see I have,
25:02 can you hold another picture for me,
25:03 isn't she adorable. This is dear Miss Brenda,
25:06 my name is Bridgett Chowkan, I am two and
25:09 a half years old, and I am from Romania.
25:11 My Bunica, I think that's Bunica is writing
25:16 this letter for me, and Bunika means
25:18 grandmother in Romania. I still call her
25:21 Mica because I can say Bunica yet.
25:24 I share Jesus by smiling, and I smile all
25:26 the time. My mother said I started smiling
25:29 shortly after I was born. I smile at people
25:31 in the stores and you know what most of the
25:33 time they smile back at me. I even have people
25:36 come up to me and my mom didn't talk to
25:38 me because I smile at them. My family thinks
25:40 that smiling at people is a very good way
25:43 to start sharing Jesus, and I am sending
