00:03 It's time to share there is a world out there looking
00:06 for a friend like Jesus, it's time to share there 00:12 is a world out there. Let's tell them that 00:14 He loves us so. Let's tell them that He 00:18 loves us so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:25 Hi, boys and girls, am I just sitting here looking 00:28 through all these bills I have to pay. 00:31 Have you ever seen your mom or dad working 00:32 over a stack of bills? Probably you saw a wrinkled 00:35 forehead or heard a sigh or two, right. 00:39 Because nobody likes to pay bills do they? 00:42 Everyone knows has to pay bills, no matter how rich 00:45 you are or how poor you are. You still have to pay 00:48 for a place to live and food to eat and cloths 00:51 to wear and all those other things that make life more 00:54 comfortable. Sometimes it's hard to come up 00:57 with enough money to pay all those bills though isn't it. 01:01 But most of the time we do it without complaining, 01:04 because we want whatever it is we're paying for. 01:07 However if you felt that someone was cheating you, 01:10 you know charging you more then what's fair. 01:12 You probably wouldn't be too happy about paying 01:15 that bill would you? Our Bible story today tells about 01:19 a man who lived at the same time Jesus lived on 01:21 this earth. And he had job that made him 01:24 really unpopular, he was a tax collector. 01:28 Now, a tax collector is not a bad thing to be is it. 01:31 Someone has to collect the taxes to help the government 01:34 pay for all those services, but you know in the place 01:37 where Jesus lived, tax collectors had a very bad 01:40 reputation for cheating people. And you know what 01:43 else they didn't like the government very much either. 01:48 So, if you were a tax collector you might make a 01:51 good living at it. But you probably didn't have very 01:53 many friends; today's Bible story will tell you all 01:57 about a tax collector named Matthew who found 02:00 the very best friend of all Jesus. 02:04 But first Ranger Jim is going to show 02:06 us some beautiful tropical birds. 02:16 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim here saying 02:18 welcome to Nature Time, we're glad you can join us today. 02:21 We're back at Homosassa state park here 02:23 in Florida and our friend Ken is with us. 02:25 Ranger Ken is going to be telling us something 02:27 about these birds. Ken tell us about some of the 02:29 birds that we have in this huge big cage. 02:31 Well, this is a big flying aviary. 02:33 We have from wetlands birds to shorebirds. 02:36 You see back here, we can see, you know we have 02:38 some of the roseate spoonbills, 02:41 why they call them spoonbill, look at the big, look, 02:43 it looks like a spoon. They use that hard palette 02:47 beak just to go in the water and search for little fish, 02:50 little crawfish or little frogs whatever they can find 02:54 the march water. So, they feel with that, 02:57 they feel with that, and once they get a fish 03:00 they grab them with the beak and swallow it down. 03:02 Okay, some of them are lighter colors than the other, 03:04 what about this? Okay, I am, right now 03:06 they're getting to the breeding premise, 03:08 that's why that they see like different colors within 03:10 the males and the females. So, then the male like in 03:13 many birds especially nesting time, 03:15 take on a brighter color, yeah. 03:17 And I tell boys and girls from time to time that God made 03:19 the males usually more beautiful than the females 03:22 and so we men must be humble about that, yeah. 03:25 And of course that is not true he made the male 03:27 brighter because that will attract color, 03:29 any predator that might come by would be attracted 03:31 to him, the female has a duller colors, 03:33 so sitting on the nest and she is camouflaged by that, 03:36 well other this spoonbill, what else do we have, 03:38 we have some other birds that you have here. 03:40 We have back there on the ground the 03:42 Yellow-crowned Night Heron, a Yellow-crowned 03:45 Night Heron, he is only nocturnal. 03:47 So, he hunts at night, he hunts at night, 03:49 he come out same thing, he eat frog, 03:50 he eats small snakes, he will eat whatever they can find, 03:53 they casually. Okay, so this must be an immature 03:58 bird that we have here because I have seen 03:59 some of the Night Heron with the long feathers 04:01 all the way down their back, they then grow this 04:03 again, when they get them fully, 04:04 they get with their two long beautiful feathers 04:07 on the back of the head. Isn't that amazing 04:09 and God made him attractive to attract the female alright, 04:11 attract the female, that's right. 04:12 And so then he built a nest and raise it. 04:14 Oh! That's interesting, we're learning things today, 04:15 what about the bird that keeps calling over here 04:17 on the ground. That's the osprey, 04:19 some people call them the Sea hawk, You see him, 04:22 see him like in the, when you go in the by the canals 04:25 you see nesting on top of the mangrove. 04:31 They come just start flying, they go in the water, 04:32 grab a fish with their talons, bring them up 04:33 and bring them home for food. And so this is, 04:36 when you hear people in Florida refereeing to a Fish 04:38 hawk this is what they're speaking of. 04:40 That's what they're talking about, 04:41 that's what they are talking about, 04:42 they talk about the osprey and quite often 04:43 if you're in Florida boys and girls, you may see a big 04:46 nest on the top of a power pole and sometime people 04:48 put up nesting sites for them and they build 04:51 a nest there. And the old male osprey, 04:54 especially when he is hunting, he is dangerous 04:56 from many fish that's within eighteen inches 04:58 of surface, because I've seen them dive in the water 05:01 and you think it would kill them. But it doesn't cause 05:04 smash once again they dive correctly don't they? 05:07 Well, they go hawk first out, go with their leg first. 05:10 They stick their feet up and the talons are spread 05:13 this way and when they strike that pray, 05:15 they close it and they're as sharp as needles 05:17 and they jerk it from the water and fly away, 05:19 isn't that incredible? More incredible is you know 05:22 when they grab the fish, if you get talon by osprey 05:26 and if you pull the talons will go deeper in your skin. 05:30 Yes, because when they grab the fish they just 05:32 go up and talon will lock the fish 05:34 in place up to lift him. Just as if it was designed 05:38 that way isn't it? Isn't it marvelous and we have 05:40 some others small birds with long legs here, 05:42 what are these? That's one Black-necked Stilt, 05:44 they are the Black-necked Stilt. 05:46 You find them in the wetlands you see them like 05:47 running from plants to plants and walking like 05:51 in the water, looks like they are walking in the top 05:53 of the water. That's why they have those long 05:55 legs right and so many people think this bird, 05:57 boys and girls. Because it's walking in water, 05:59 the six right inches deep, his actually walking 06:02 on the water. But it is not, his legs are quite long 06:05 as you can see and so it gives the appearance 06:07 of this bird it gliding along one of the top of the water 06:09 hardly making a ripple. And so that is a 06:12 misconception that you get like this so you can learn 06:13 so many things from that and we have one another 06:17 bird over in the corner, looks like a pigeon, 06:19 is this a pigeon or this a dove. That's a white 06:20 crowned pigeon; it's the only pigeon native to Florida. 06:24 I see, so it's the white crowned pigeon, 06:27 the only one native to Florida and all these creatures 06:29 here in Florida are native to the state of Florida. 06:32 Yeah all these, all the birds we have in this every 06:34 area did belong to Florida. What about this small 06:36 bird that we have here that has the red beak 06:39 and some yellow there. That's a common moorhen, 06:41 a common moorhen, yeah wetland bird, 06:43 it is a wetland bird. Same thing, they love bugs, 06:46 they love all the kind of worms, 06:48 small fish and they have feet I notice that their feet, 06:51 their tails are quite elongated and so that gives 06:54 them the ability to walk on the top of all of that. 06:56 Wonderful boys and girls, we've learned this 06:58 afternoon about many of these birds. 06:59 As we have talked about before our wonderful 07:02 Heavenly Father made them, he made them right 07:04 the first time. So, we look forward to having them 07:07 with us in the new earth, so this is always Ranger Jim 07:10 saying to you don't forget to tell the Jesus that 07:12 you love him because he really does love you. 07:39 Are you guys telling secrets? Well, if it's not a secret, 07:44 Hannah why don't you tell the kids at home 07:46 what you just heard. Jesus loves you, 07:49 oh! kids telling kids, telling kids about the Lord. 08:01 Kids telling kids about the love of Jesus, 08:04 Kids telling kids about the Lord. 08:08 Kids' telling kids the way to be happy, 08:11 And what we're living for, if you wanna be happy though, 08:15 you wanna be good, ask the Lord to live in you. 08:21 And join those kids telling kids, 08:23 telling kids about the Lord. 08:29 Where ever I go, I try to show all the love 08:33 I have come to know, and we're going to sleep, 08:36 if the Lord in me, so come our line and join us for that. 08:42 Kids telling kids about the love of Jesus, 08:45 Kids telling kids about the Lord. 08:49 Kids' telling kids the way to be happy, 08:52 And what we're living for, if you wanna be happy though, 08:57 you wanna be good, ask the Lord to live in you. 09:02 And join those kids telling kids, 09:05 telling kids about the Lord. 09:10 If you need a brand new start 09:13 ask the Lord to live in your heart, 09:16 he will be your friend when you're poor again, 09:19 so come on along and join us 09:22 where the Kids telling kids about the love of Jesus, 09:26 Kids telling kids about the Lord. 09:29 Kids' telling kids the way to be happy, 09:33 And what we're living for, if you wanna be happy though, 09:37 you wanna be good, ask the Lord to live in you. 09:41 And join those kids telling kids, 09:44 telling kids about the Lord. 09:50 Kids telling kids telling kids about the Lord, that's us. 10:05 I love jam especially fresh fruit jam and I've got 10:09 a easy recipe for you. Go get your pencils and papers, 10:12 you won't wanna miss this one. 10:15 Read the ingredients for you. 10:17 2 cups fresh or frozen berries 10:21 16 oz canned apple juice concentrate 10:25 1/3 cup clear gel 1/3 cup cool water 10:31 We're gonna start with a apple juice concentrate 10:36 and that may sound like a big word but truly not, 10:38 it's just apple juice frozen. You need the blender 10:41 for this one, so put the apple juice concentrate 10:45 in the blender oops, spilled a little bit. 10:52 You enter the clear gel and all that clear gel is, 10:54 is to make it thicken and we're gonna blend 11:00 that up just for a few seconds, but you don't wanna 11:02 do it too long. Just about 30 seconds maybe, 11:08 oh that looks good and then we're gonna take 11:13 our berries and, my Nana groves fresh raspberries 11:19 from a garden, so I can use them and they're 11:21 delicious. Put those in and you don't wanna put. 11:30 You don't wanna blend up the berries too much because 11:33 they'll get real seedy, you'll have real seedy jam. 11:37 And I hate it in my teeth, 11:39 so just blend it out for a few seconds. 11:45 That looks good, looks done, that's all there is to, 11:48 it's so easy and I'm just, you can pour in a bowl or a, 11:53 you can pour in a can, but I'm just gonna use one 11:56 of my mom's bowls. Pretty bowls to make it look nice, 12:04 look how. Well, that's all there is to it, 12:16 I don't even need toast, this looks so good. 12:19 Gonna try some right now; I told you, you wouldn't wanna 12:26 miss this one. But remember to keep 12:29 cooking and eat healthy. 13:38 Hello, boys and girls, I'm counting some of the 13:40 offering that we've collected from the 13:42 Churches in the area. You might not know me, 13:46 but my name is Levi Matthew, I'm one of Jesus' 13:49 Apostles, but I wasn't always an Apostle. 13:53 Before Jesus asked me to follow him, 13:56 I was a tax collector and oh if you know about 13:59 the tax collectors in Judea. We were hated, 14:03 nobody wanted the tax collectors to come around 14:05 and ask them for money. And it was like every few 14:10 months or so we'd be around, 14:12 asking for more money and they got to be where 14:15 sometimes we would ask for a little more than we should. 14:19 And so we had fewer and fewer friends where 14:21 my only friends were other tax collectors. 14:25 So, I didn't have many friends, I was like an outcast 14:28 in my own people, Jews didn't like me, 14:32 the Romans didn't like me. Nobody like the tax 14:35 collectors, I was so lonely and burdened, 14:38 then I heard about this Jesus. That he was going 14:42 around and people were starting to follow him 14:45 and I wanted to find out about it. I heard he was 14:48 even healing people, so I went and I watched him 14:51 and sure enough he healed some of my friends. 14:55 I couldn't believe what I was hearing, 14:58 so I went to a mountain side one day where he was 15:01 giving a sermon. And I listened to him talk about 15:04 forgiveness and then I heard about sin is in our heart. 15:09 And I realized that sin was in my heart and how 15:12 I had became greedy and prideful; 15:15 I didn't wanna be that way anymore. 15:17 I wanted to have God in my life and I decided 15:21 that I would follow Jesus at that moment. 15:25 And if there was some way that I could be with him, 15:27 I wouldn't hesitate. So, I waited and one day 15:31 I was sitting at my tax table, counting out the taxes. 15:35 When I could see down the road, 15:36 a group of the Apostles coming with Jesus 15:39 leading them, would you believe it, 15:42 they were heading right for me. 15:44 And Jesus walked right up to my table, 15:46 he looked into my eyes. He was so loving and 15:50 he said follow me and there without hesitation, 15:55 I got right up from my table and I followed him. 15:57 And from that day I have never looked back. 16:01 It was such a blessing to be in the presence of Jesus. 16:05 All day long, day after day listening to his stories, 16:08 watching him heal, just talking to him with those 16:12 friendly loving eyes. It was like heaven to be 16:15 in his presence and he taught us so many things, 16:20 I just appreciated him so much. 16:22 The very first thing that I did is I held a party, 16:26 a banquet in his honor. And invited all my tax collector 16:30 friends, all the people that were outcast 16:33 and we had a wild party to say the least. 16:36 We had things that Jesus wouldn't eat and drink, 16:39 but he was there and he was respectful and gracious. 16:43 He was so fun to be with and my friends 16:48 they never forgot that banquet, 16:50 they never forgot that way that Jesus was with them. 16:54 How respectful he was of them. 16:58 So, for the next three and half years I walked 17:01 with Jesus with the Apostles, 17:03 we were even given powers to heal and to bless 17:06 and do miracles. It was so amazing to see God's 17:10 Spirit work in that special way. 17:13 But after three and half years you know what happened. 17:16 You've heard the stories, Jesus was crucified 17:19 and we were so disappointed, we didn't know 17:24 what to think of it. But we realized what 17:27 forgiveness was, that he went through all that 17:30 he went through so innocent and so pure 17:32 that he died for our sins on the cross. 17:36 It was such an important time and it was so much 17:39 of a blessing, it was three days later he rose from 17:42 the dead. He was resurrected and then all of 17:46 the stories that he had talked to us about Jonah 17:49 three days in the whale. Building the temple 17:52 in three days and it all made sense again. 17:55 We were so appreciative and then for the next 17:58 forty days he explained those stories to us 18:02 and we were so enthralled with it. 18:04 So at forty days was the time that he was going 18:09 to be ascended to Heaven. And that's just 18:13 what happened, after those forty days he went up 18:16 on the hill and he rose up to Heaven and the 18:19 last thing he told us was to go and teach others 18:22 what he had taught us. To baptize others and I hope 18:26 children that you will be baptized someday, 18:29 I hope that you will follow Jesus as I have 18:32 and you will find the blessings that I have. 18:37 I better go back to my work, 18:38 it was nice talking to you, bye, bye. 19:57 [Foreign Language] Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus 20:01 What a wonder you are 20:05 You are brighter than the morning star, 20:11 You are fairer, much fairer 20:15 Than the lily that grows by the wayside 20:19 Precious, more precious than gold. 20:24 I live for Jesus day after day 20:32 I live for Jesus may come what may 20:38 The holy Spirit I will obey 20:45 I live for Jesus day after day. [Foreign Language] 21:33 Thank you to Alvarado children's choir for that 21:35 beautiful song, they're from Alvarado, 21:37 Texas and I really enjoy that. Well! What do you have 21:59 in your lap? Well, today I brought some puppets, 22:04 some puppets now you have a puppet ministry right? 22:06 Yes. And can you tell me a little bit about your puppets 22:10 now did you buy this puppets or. 22:12 No, we handmade these puppets at our house, 22:15 you handmade them, yes. And so that have 22:18 took had to be pretty hard work isn't it? Yes. 22:20 What are they made out of? Well, 22:22 it just made out of cloth and foam, 22:26 and foam and that's pretty good. 22:29 Now, what do you do for your, 22:31 what is the puppet ministry, how do you use the 22:34 puppets for Jesus? Well, at our Church we have 22:37 a thing called children's Church and we put on the 22:40 puppet shows for the children and they really 22:44 enjoy them. We do different Bible stories 22:46 and health things and they really enjoy it out. 22:50 Now, when you say health things, 22:51 what kind of health can you do with the puppet? 22:54 Well, we do, we talk about how you need to not 22:58 eating between meals and eating good foods 23:01 rather than junk food 'cause it's a lot of extra work 23:04 for your stomach. And I see something over there 23:06 you have actually a stomach puppet, right yes. 23:10 We made this, oh! Look at that, isn't that, 23:12 that looks like a lot of hard work too? Yes, 23:15 and so the food goes in and it shows the kids for, 23:18 yes what goes in the Mr. Stomach over there, yep. 23:20 That's a wonderful now what kind of Bible stories 23:22 have you told. Well, we tell once about Daniel 23:27 and his three friends and the woman at the well 23:29 and about Blind Bartimaeus and about God's gifts 23:36 for us and how we should use our gifts to serve 23:41 the Lord.
