00:03 It's time to share there's a world out there,
00:07 Looking for a friend like Jesus. It's time to share 00:11 there's a world out there; let's tell them 00:14 that He loves us so. Let's tell them that He 00:18 loves us so. Kids Time, Kids Time, Kids Time. 00:24 Hi, boys and girls, this fleece feels so soft, 00:29 I love the feel that against my face and it's 00:32 softness in my hands. Do you know where 00:35 fleece comes from? That's right. It comes 00:38 from an animal and that animal is called the sheep. 00:41 Now did you know in Bible time many, many 00:43 people owned sheep and once a year the 00:46 sheep were shaved? That means the 00:48 shepherds, they would take very sharp knife 00:51 because they didn't have electrical crimpers 00:52 back then, and carefully they would cut the wool 00:55 from the sheep's backs. Well, then the sheep 00:59 would feel all light and frisky and they jump 01:01 around in a new summer outfits. 01:04 But, the fleeces are the wool, it is we often here 01:06 called would be used from many purposes. 01:09 It might be turn into wool and thread and 01:11 then woven into a woolen cloth. 01:13 Then the cloth would be fashioned into the 01:15 cloths for people to wear. Do you know the 01:18 fleece could also be turned into blankets to 01:20 keep you warm, big blankets that throw over 01:22 the back of donkeys or soft wool blankets to 01:25 wrap a baby in? One thing about fleece 01:28 though is that it observes water almost like a sponge? 01:32 I'm gonna show you something. You just 01:33 watch for a minute. I've got a sponge here. 01:36 Isn't it a cute little sponge? And let's 01:38 soaked in the water right here, can you see 01:40 that, and we just see what happens here. 01:44 Look at that, and can you see that? It soaked 01:47 up all the water, didn't it? See look at how 01:50 much water that soaked up. Now let's take, here 01:53 is the corner of the fleece, and let's took the 01:55 fleece in. Can you see that and look at this, 02:01 it soaked up water too, didn't it? But you know 02:04 our Bible story today is about a man who knew 02:06 a lot of our sheep, and a lot about fleece and he 02:11 was about learn a whole lot more of our God. 02:15 But, first Ranger Jim is going to 02:17 tell us about an Egyptian fruit bat. 02:26 Hi, boys and girls, Ranger Jim saying 02:28 welcome to "Nature Time." We are glad 02:30 to that you can join us today where beautiful 02:31 Silver Springs in Florida. We have our 02:34 friend Jesse with us today and he has a 02:35 friend to tell us about. What is this Jesse we have? 02:38 This is an Egyptian fruit bat. 02:40 Isn't that beauty? He is gorgeous and 02:42 actually looks like a little poppy dog. 02:44 These are the only flying winged mammals 02:46 in the world and really they compromise one 02:49 quarter of all mammal life on earth. Wonderful! 02:51 And you will see the eyes. The eyes are very 02:53 large. Here in Florida we have bats and have 02:56 a little appended, which comes of the nose. 02:58 They middle and swing back and forth to the 03:00 insects are lies in Florida that we all 03:02 know how bad mosquito are in Florida. 03:04 They eat 1,000 mosquitoes in a one hour. Alright. 03:07 This particular bat if you learn how larges 03:09 eyes are, yes, it lies on it's eyesight more than 03:12 it's echo location that little nose leaf, so what 03:15 they do is they can actually see a berry size 03:17 object from one hundred yards away. 03:19 Wonderful! So, and of course when 03:20 they eat be berries the droppings, re-propagate 03:23 new trees for. So it's almost like Johnny 03:25 appleseed . They keep on growing these trees force. 03:28 Wonderful! What' really unique 03:30 about these animals are the wings. Just feel that 03:32 a fewer ranger Jim. Beautiful! 03:34 It feels almost like latex, doesn't it? 03:35 They are really does. This is the thumb, 03:37 believe or not. These are actually fingers 03:41 and they come down. Now this particular bat 03:43 has wingspan about 12 inches. Now bats range 03:46 in size from a tiny bamboo bee bat, which 03:49 is only about the size of the penny or jelly bean, 03:52 only up to a giant flying fox. 03:54 Right. Six feet wings span is 03:57 big as our Bald Eagles in North America. Amazing! 03:59 So they are huge and very tiny. They are 04:01 very, very important to the environment and 04:03 they re-propagate rainforest. They can 04:06 control life-flying insects, so right here in 04:08 Florida I specially like the bats beautiful little 04:11 animals. You can see that face again, looks 04:13 just like little Tulip. He is just gorgeous. 04:16 Now boys and girls you are seeing that our 04:18 friend Jesse is wearing a glove because he 04:21 holding the bat and the bat will bite and 04:23 defense himself, but many people are 04:25 fearful of a bat. A bat gets in your house and 04:28 people call up fire department and the 04:29 police department and everyone else, and they 04:32 almost faint from fear. You don't have to do 04:35 that. The bat has a very bad reputation from 04:38 some movies, the Vampire bats that suck 04:40 blood and all those kind of things. 04:42 The bat is a very, very friendly creature. 04:45 Of course, if you see a bat on the ground or if 04:47 you see a bat on the corner of your house 04:49 you shouldn't go upon touch it because the bat 04:51 could bite you, okay, and it is possible for the 04:54 bat to transmit rabies. And so as with many 04:58 other things that ranger Jim talks to you about 04:59 you should never go upon touch it. 05:01 Go and get mummy and daddy or someone or 05:03 adult come and look at it and see it. 05:05 And I would give you advise for adults who 05:07 are watching if you have a bat in the house, 05:10 try to get it upon a corner and take a towel 05:12 and don't hurt the creature just lay the 05:14 towel up to it very gently and then reach to 05:18 the towel. They won't bite you through the 05:19 towel and take it out of doors and release it. 05:23 And as our friend Jesse was talking about the 05:25 echo system. Can you imagine a bat flying 05:27 along he is emitting little tiny sound ways 05:30 that are going out and striking the insects then 05:32 coming back to him, in his computer that is his 05:36 brain he calculates the distance and closes 05:39 inward and reaches out and plucks it out of the 05:42 air and he has been doing it for thousand 05:45 and thousand of years since God first created 05:48 them. We think that we are on the top of the 05:50 line. We are the top of the chain and we are 05:52 doing all these marvelous things now, the bats 05:55 have been doing it for many, many years as far 05:57 as radar or sonar. Now tell me these bats they 06:01 eat fruit, yes, and thanks of this nature so 06:03 they are valuable pollinators as well. 06:05 Very much, they are almost solely 06:07 responsible for pollination. And many plants they 06:09 are that and the bats, the bees and the things of 06:12 that nature and boys and girls also as a 06:15 naturalist one of the most ask question 06:17 I received people say well tell me ranger Jim 06:20 why did God make mosquitoes? 06:22 Now, that a good question, isn't it? 06:24 The mosquito is also like this bat, 06:27 a wonderful pollinator if you look at a 06:29 mosquito very carefully, very delicate gauze 06:33 wings, very delicate legs any other creature, 06:36 any other tiny bee would light on tiny 06:39 blossom refine in the woods or out here in 06:41 nature would crush it to the ground. 06:43 But, the mosquito flies along gently takes from 06:46 it nectar and spreads the pollen that's way we got 06:49 original, they were pollinators, because we 06:51 have misused and abuse the earth. The mosquito 06:55 when she is pregnant, only the female who is 06:57 pregnant bites you. She can't find enough 06:59 protein in that blossom so she goes looking for 07:01 the places. She flies up to my Jesse says, 07:04 thank you very much for your protein. 07:07 Boys and girls we hope you've enjoyed learning 07:10 about the bat today as always ranger Jim 07:13 telling you, don't forget to tell Jesus that you 07:16 love him because he really does love you. 07:26 Attention! March time march. 07:33 God's got an army marching through the land 07:37 Deliverance in their song, with healing in their hands 07:41 Everlasting joy and gladness in their heart, 07:45 and in this army I've got a part. 07:48 There's a great and mighty army 07:50 In the world today Dressed in splendid armor 07:54 They're in full array The host of darkness trembles 07:58 As we walk their way There's a great and 08:00 mighty army In the world today 08:03 So let's shout, shout, Shout the victory 08:08 The enemy is under our feet So let's shout, shout, 08:12 Shout the victory For great is our King 08:18 Great is our King Great is the King of Kings 08:24 God's got an army marching through the land 08:27 Deliverance in their song, with healing in their hands 08:31 Everlasting joy and gladness in their heart, 08:35 and in this army I've got a part. 08:47 Endure our hardship like a good soldier 08:49 as Jesus Christ, second Timothy 2:3. 09:00 I love to cook, but I guess that's not too 09:02 surprising since my whole family cooks. 09:05 My mom cooks, my aunt Linda cooks, 09:07 my aunt Brenda cooks, and my nanny cooks. 09:11 But, today I'm gonna share with you one of 09:12 my auntie Linda's recipes', Scramble tofu. 09:17 Well, here are ingredients. 09:19 1 lb firm water-packed tofu, rinsed and drained 09:24 1 pkg. mori-nu tofu, firm or extra firm 09:28 1/4 cup of brewer's yeast flakes 09:32 1 ½ tbsp. of McKay's chicken style seasoning 09:36 2 tsp. of McKay's beef style seasoning 09:41 1 tsp. of vegesal seasoning 09:45 1/4 tsp. of garlic powder 1 of bunch green 09:49 onions, sliced 1/4 to ½ cup of water tortilla shells 09:56 And we're gonna start with our green onions 09:58 and water. Go and put these in just some more. 10:09 We turned that up a little bit. Get it some 10:11 more in, then we're go over to our to tofu and 10:15 this is water, this is water based tofu and it's 10:20 lit bit spongier than regular tofu and this is 10:25 it just, it's more like a cottage cheese kind of 10:27 and I have already got this chopped up and 10:29 ready to go in here. This is the mori-nu tofu 10:32 and this is why it looks like when you buy this 10:35 package and so smoother kind of tofu, and so, 10:40 is your recipe calls for a mori-nu or what if you 10:42 calls for it's kind then you need use it because 10:45 it will probably mess up your recipe if you don't. 10:48 So you can go ahead and take this mori-nu, 10:52 put it with the tofu, smash it up a little bit, 11:04 okay, then we're gonna just add all your 11:11 seasonings. But it doesn't matter what 11:14 goes in first or anything. You just kind of dump 11:16 it all in, put that in this okay. 11:29 Rest of them and all these out of the way, 11:38 we turn this up a little. Mix it all up real good. 11:44 You wanna make sure it's not too many 11:46 humongous chance, but some are okay. 11:52 This all mixed okay, almost, okay, there 12:07 we go, looks pretty good. So, looks like our green 12:16 onions are about done, so go ahead and dump 12:19 the tofu into the green onions. 12:32 And that all out, stir it up, and you want to let 12:47 this sit on the stove for about 15 minutes or so 12:53 but you don't really have time to stay for 15 12:57 to 20 minutes. Well, I let this slip. So I'm just 13:00 gonna show you which you do, you're done, 13:03 when all is done and cooked we need to get 13:05 into it, and right over here, 13:17 and get into it and put a little bit of your 13:22 mixture, the tofu mixture into here, like this. 13:33 Now have to do from here is pretty much up 13:37 to you, you can be creative, maybe put 13:38 some avocado or some slice tomatoes or some 13:41 Tofu cheese, just like. Go ahead and put some 13:45 sauce on this inside or you go like inside. 13:51 I'm just gonna put some Olives of sauce, 13:52 because I love Olives and we gotten, some 13:57 Olives in top. Okay, now we're gonna roll it 14:08 up, just like this and flip it over. But some sauce 14:18 set down the middle to make it look pretty and 14:21 creative. So, right in the middle and some just 14:24 drips some sauce leave some on either side. 14:30 It looks, it looks pretty and creative. 14:33 You wanna add special touch, you can add 14:35 some olives and olives we good on it to, tofu. 14:44 Doesn't now it looks delicious? Smells good 14:48 too, I bet you get almost smell at home. 14:51 Well, until next time keep cooking and eat healthy. 15:04 Hello, children. Can you see the Midianites 15:06 running pass here? My men and I have been 15:09 searching them since dawn. God has given us 15:11 a great victory and to think that God used me 15:15 get in and just 300 men to destroy all the army 15:19 of Midianites. Would you mind if I rest here 15:21 a moment I would love to share with you what 15:23 God has done for Israel? You see Midianites 15:27 were attacking Israel for sometime, destroying 15:30 everything that we had; our cattle, our food and 15:34 even our houses. But, one day God spoke to 15:37 me and he said that he is going to deliver Israel 15:40 by my hand. I wanted to make sure that I heard 15:43 him right. So prayed and asked God for a 15:46 sign. I prayed God if you are with me please 15:50 give me a sign. I put fleece of wool, sheep's 15:53 wool outdoors overnight and if they do folds on 15:57 the fleece alone and the ground who remain dry 16:00 then I will know that you are with me. 16:03 In the morning when I've got up I found the 16:05 fleece wet to his dew and the ground around 16:08 it was dry. When I took the fleece and wring it 16:11 out I feel it bull up with water. But then 16:15 I thought it will naturally draws water. 16:19 So may be I should have prayed for the opposite. 16:22 So pray to God again. Please do not be angry 16:25 with me but let me try just one more time. 16:28 This time let the fleece be dry and all the 16:31 ground to wet. Next morning I got up 16:35 and found the fleece dry and the ground around 16:37 it was wet, so then I knew that God was with me. 16:42 Israelites was scattered all over from the 16:44 multitude of the Midianites. But, I started giving an 16:47 army anyway. Only we've 32, 000 men 16:50 against multitude of the Midianites that no one 16:53 could number. But then God spoke to me and 16:57 said you have too many men, too many I said, 17:02 how can it be too many. There is no way for us 17:04 to defeat them but he said, yes you have too 17:07 many Israelites may become to proud. 17:10 They might think that they have defeated 17:11 Midianites from the Rome. So go and 17:14 announce to everyone if there was any one 17:17 scared they could go home. My heart was so sad. 17:22 When I saw 22,000 men leave and only 10, 000 17:27 remained. I said now I have no army to fight 17:30 the Midianites with. But, then God spoke to 17:33 me again and to my surprise he said, you 17:36 still have too many men. Still too many 17:39 I said, how can it be too many. I have almost 17:42 no armies especially compared to the 17:44 Midianites, but he said, yes, you have too many. 17:48 Go to the river and I will show you which 17:50 men you keep and which you will send home. 17:54 So I went to the river. God told me to keep the 17:56 man that who would pick up water with their 17:58 hands and bring it to their mouth, and those 18:00 who kneel down to drink I was to send home. 18:04 And after I have separated all the men, 18:07 only 300 were left with me. The rest I had sent 18:10 home. Those who had picked up water with 18:12 their hands were so eager to fight. 18:14 They didn't want to stop even to drink. 18:17 They were always looking ahead to the 18:19 battle of the Lord. So, we were campaigning 18:21 now not far from Midianites camp. 18:24 I gathered all my men together and said, 18:26 God has given the Midianites into our 18:29 hands, so listen to me carefully and do as I say. 18:33 Each of you is going to have one torch, one 18:36 pitcher to hide the torching, and one 18:39 trumpet and at my command, you can the 18:41 break the pitcher willing the torches 18:43 flame, blow the trumpet and shout; "The sword 18:47 of the Lord and of Gideon!" So all of my 18:51 300 soldiers are on the camp of the Midianites 18:53 and at my command, 300 pitchers were 18:55 broken, 300 torches were raise high up, 18:59 300 trumpet were sounded and 300 of 19:01 God's braves soldiers shouted, "the sword of 19:04 the LORD and for Gideon!" Midianites 19:07 were scarred. They thought millions were 19:10 surrounded their camp. They were confused 19:13 because the spirit of the Lord towards with us. 19:16 They started fighting against each other and 19:18 did know where to run as we came closure and 19:21 closure they were fewer and fewer of Midianites 19:24 left, and the fewer that were left too running away. 19:28 So, listen boys and girls, I learned from 19:30 all these that God doesn't need bless 19:32 numbers to win his battles because the 19:34 battle is his. God is all-powerful and if we 19:39 are with Him who can be against us. 19:42 God can protect us even when we're out number. 19:45 Oh! I think I see my men over there I better 19:48 go and catch up to them and find handful of 19:51 those scared Midianites that were running away. 19:53 Goodbye, may God be with you. 20:11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return 20:17 And come with singing unto Zion, 20:22 And everlasting joy shall be upon their head. 20:30 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return 20:36 And come with singing unto Zion, 20:41 And everlasting joy shall be upon their head. 20:50 They shall obtain gladness and joy, 21:00 And sorrow and mourning shall flee away. 21:09 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return 21:14 And come with singing unto Zion, 21:19 And everlasting joy shall be upon their head. 21:29 And everlasting joy shall be upon their head. 21:48 Thank you, Emily Beth and Chelsea for that 21:49 beautiful song. Well, boys and girls, I would 21:52 like to introduce you to a couple of guests here 21:54 in Kids Time, this is our friend Jordan, and 21:57 I thank you for being here Jordan and Elizabeth. Can you tell the boys and girls 22:12 about that? Sure, well, I had a 22:16 friend that whenever he went to school the kids 22:21 were mean to him and he wanted to get even, 22:24 so I just said, no that's not what Jesus wanted 22:27 you to do, so you just be kind. So the next 22:30 morning he went to school and he was kind 22:33 to them and they start being mean to him. 22:36 You know that's what how Jesus wants us to 22:38 act as in that. He wants us to be kind even if 22:41 these people that are being mean to us boys 22:44 and girls, he wants us to be kind others, doesn't he? 22:48 And Jordan you had an opportunity to witness. 22:51 Can you tell the boys and girls about that? 22:53 Sure.
